#wow poor Neteyam

I know that I bullshit most of the things I write with the reasoning being 'cus I said' (which is totally valid by the way) but I actually do have a 'scientific' reason why Neteyam's so short in Ma' Yawntu. He was injured at 16 and around that time is when boys have their like final growth spurts but Neteyam was recovering and could barely walk and eat so he never really grew to his full potential

things about the sullys in my dr ( > < )
jake sully
- he has nickname for are the girls in the family
- so neytiri is my love, kiri is baby girl, I’m princess, and tuk is either baby or sweetheart
- I have he stressed out like sometimes I see something cool I’m like “wow :D” and I start walking towards it and while I’m talking the second step of walking away he picks me up and puts me back where I was
- when me and the other kids are messing around when we probably shouldn’t be gives us the look and we immediately stop
- he’s the kind of dad that if we’re loud and having fun he goes “STOP FIGHTING”
- when him and neytiri fight he connects their tsaheylu and I think that’s so cute
- on our way to the metkayina clan I was with him on his banshee and when it started storming that was actually so scary and he noticed and he laid my head on his shoulder and told me it was okay #dadjakesully for the win 💪🏼
- when we were having dinner our first night with the metkayina clan and he was eating the fruit his eyes went really wide and he went “wow :0”
- he really loved the food tho he got three bowls
- he snores so loud
- he does NOT let me hold a gun EVER
- and one time I asked “will I ever shoot it” and he said “absolutely not”
- when I was like 10 years old I was as in a wrestling competition and I won and jake yelled “SHE’S HER DADDY’S DAUGHTER”
neytiri
- she said she always wanted kids so she could do their hair
- and yes she does do our hair :D
- hair with neytiri is one of two things, either 1. she is very loving with it or 2. it’s “WHY ARE YOU CRYING”
- she will not speak to jake when she’s mad at him
- when she says to be back by 8:00pm she means 8:00pm not 8:03pm
- when jake snores she goes “jake everyone can hear your snores”
- she gets baby fever a lot
- she was holding this lady’s baby from the metkayina clan and she went “I want another one ☹️” and jake immediately got flustered
- then me and the rest of the kids were messing around and she said “I take it back I don’t want more”
- she lovesss nature
- she does not mess around when her children are hurt
- she gets nervous when I hold something fragile
- when lo’ak takes his hair out of the braids she washes his hair because she doesn’t trust that he will do it well
neteyam
- very responsible
- I trust him with literally everything
- he would go to war for sausage
- he has a habit it looking behind him and I’m assuming it’s to check on us
- I think him and this one girl at home tree had a thing going on before we left
- he is a very hydrated person
- that boy is FULL of dad jokes
- he falls asleep really fast poor dude is exhausted at the end of the day
- he collects flowers to give them to neytiri
- I think modern day neteyam would be the only friend with a license
kiri
- her habit is rolling her eyes HA
- she’s been going through it since we made it to the metkayina clan
- she misses her manz she just won’t admit it
- her hair is very soft and fluffy
- she would listen to sza I know she would
- the guy said my head is funny 💔 and then kiri told him to be quiet she has my back
- she’s actually very good at making omatikayan jewelry :D
- and she can knit very well
- she’s like snow white animals really like her
lo’ak
- he’s scared of butterflies
- just bugs in general
- he screams for me or lo’ak to kill it
- “NETE ITS CRAWLING FUCK”
- then mister jake told him to watch his mouth
- dude is a carnivore he loves meat
- he just like disappears every once in a while and I’m assumed he’s swinging through the trees because he really liked doing that
- normally he falls asleep the last
- when I’m happy he goes “why are you so happy 🤨”
- knitting is not his specialty like krir tried teaching him and he just ended up getting himself tangled in it
- he’s the biggest baby when getting his hair done like screaming and everything
tuk
- I know I already said this but she would love bubblegum kpop so much like love bomb??? yeah that’s her song
- she sleeps in a little ball
- she loves being thrown in the air
- it’s so funny when she tells on lo’ak and spider it brings me so much joy and laughter
- she does not like the dark, mean people, and a vegetable called potikla
- she is sneaky about it she will pretend like she ate it but actually it’s in her other hand and she’s gonna hide it somewhere else when she’s done eating
- neytiri and jake cannot say no to her
- I call her tuktuk and she really likes it (then everyone else started calling her tuktuk I know I’m a genius 🧍🏻‍♀️)
- she said I’m her favorite because I don’t get her in trouble for not eating her potikla but I don’t eat it either she’s right it’s nasty but then we both get in trouble

———————————————
Guilt is a funny thing. Well not literally, it’s a horrible feeling - however it’s interesting non the less. An emotion  powerful enough that it can have a physical effect on its victim, that’s one hell of an emotion.
Eawa is it hitting Alue’k hard.
The poor girl shook and tried as hard as she could to breathe but it was as if someone was crushing her ribs. The once scorching hand had risen and when Alue’k looked up at them, her chest got a hole lot tighter.
Neteyam.
Why did Alue’k feel so guilty at the sight of her big brother? That’s easy, she had given up. She had stoped fighting and gave into the idea of a watery grave. She didn’t care about her family in that moment, not at all. She just wanted the pain to stop.
She felt selfish.
Selfish for wanting the pain to stop, selfish for wanting the struggle to stop … selfish for wanting everything to stop.
The burning, the pain the fear it was all too much. She couldn’t take it, she was weak.
So now as he older brother moved his hand from her arm to her back Alue’k finally broke. Neteyams arms warped around the girl as she crumbles into him.
How could he be so gentle, so kind. Only moments ago had she settled on the idea of leavening him, leaving him to wonder why. Alue’k on some sick level knew Lo’ak would understand, that he would see her struggle and tiredness but Neteyam?
No.
He always expected her to get back up, may that be with a bit of help or not. Neteyam always expected her to fight to try the best she dam could and while she did, Alue’k knows deep down she gave up prematurely. Alue’k had settled on the idea of dying, she had been fine with it. Relishing in its promises of peace and the end to her struggle.
So why for the love of Eawa was he being so good, why was he comforting her when she was ok with leaving him, leaving all of them!
Ah, that’s why he’s being so nice … he didn’t know. In the time it took for her brain to unraveled and sorted itself out she realised something, neither Neteyam or Lo’ak new what had happened.
Maybe she could make this all go away, play it off as she was scared of punishment for staying out late. Yes, she could hope her brothers would believe her and pray to Eawa they don’t see past her lie.
However, at that moment Neteyams mind was running a mile a minute an overwhelming need to comfort and protect his sister surging through him but also an overwhelming feeling of … anger.
He thought she was dead, he for a split second  thought about a world in which his baby sister was no longer apart of … and it sounded like hell. (Or the Pandorian version of hell) That world sounded sad and dark - as if someone had sucked all the joy and happiness from it.
That’s what Neteyam believed, a world with no Alue’k was dull and sad. It had no laughter, no dumb jokes when your upset, no fun games or silly trick to try and cheer you up it was just empty and alone … so, so alone.
As Neteyam calmed his anger he pulled his sister into his arms and looked at her in, in all her entirety. Only then, did he notice the black and blue bruises around her eye and the glazed blood trails that ran down from her neck.
Panic set in. Neteyam felt his heart stop for a split second, what happened? He let out a small sigh, questions can wait, right now he need to be there for his baby sister. For Alue’k.
The boy sat on the sandy floor pulling the younger of the two into his lap, holding her close.
Neteyam - Mawey, little sister. Mawey. Everything’s going to be ok, it all going to be ok.
Neteyam felt Aluek ragged breaths as she leaned into him, struggled sobs tried to force there way from her throat as she clung to him and cried.
The older on the two continued to whisper soothing words while circling his palm on her back, Neteyam slowed his breathing in hopes of his sister mimicking his actions. Neteyam gently rocked back and forth, he hummed a lullaby that all of the sully children knew by heart.
One that Lo’ak had sung to her earlier.
Talking off Lo’ak, he was still sitting on the sandy ground shaking slightly. His heart was racing as a cold sweat overtook him. He had no idea what to do but the moment Neteyam saw what was happening he managed to calm the situation. This wasn’t time for sibling rivalry but instead time for supportive words and comforting embraces.
Couldn’t things be good, just for one night?
Lo’aks longing look caught Neteyam eye and the boy shuffled closer to the pair after a nod of reassurance from the older boy.
He cuddled into his brothers side, taking his sister matching five fingered hand and placing it on his chest above his heart, he hoped it would settle the girls heart rate as moment ago it felt as if it was trying to claw its way from her chest.
Lo’ak - Calm Lulu, calm.
Alue’ks breathing slowed as she leaned closer into her brother, tears had once again started to flow from her eyes (at this point she wasn’t sure if they’d ever stop) as her choked sobs turned to sniffles. Once she had calmed Neteyam pulled he away from his chest so he could meet her eyes.
Alue’k nervously fidgeted under her brothers gaze, not managing to hold it for more than a few seconds. She tried to lean back into him but he stopped her, cupping her face and pulling her chin up to meet eyes. Amber eyes met and a wave of emoting hit both of them, differently however.
Neteyam looked into Alue’ks bloodshot and tired eyes and decided it was time for answers.
Neteyam - What happened?

Neteyam x reader
The sully's have been here for two weeks now, though it does feel a lot longer. I have spent pretty much every day with them, helping Aonung, Tseriya and Rotxo show them the way of the water. And here we are again, helping them practice riding on the Ilu.
I placed my hand under Neteyam's thigh, guidingit up so it was resting just above a tiny fin on the side of the creature. "Just here is perfect" My big eyes looked up meeting his gaze, he looked back with an unreadable expression. I squinted trying to understand why he was looking at me like that. His eyes widened suddenly as he looked away, his braids flying at the sudden movement. I looked to my right and noticed Tsireya smiling at me, I shrugged my shoulder at her and stroked my hand along the Ilu.
Lo'ak's Ilu screached as it made it's way towards Neteyam. "Wow" He said as he lost control of his position and fell backwards in the water. Aonung, Kiri, Rotxo and Lo'ak burst out laughing at the sight. Neteyam's head rose up from the water, a scold on his face. "Why did he do that". He looked at me waiting for an answer. I bit back my laugh and answered the poor boy. "She, and she saw her mate, it made her excited. She didn't mean to throw you back" I laned forward placing my head and arms on the creature. She turned her head, slowly rubbing it against my back.
-----------------------
Tonight was a festival to celebrate a baby being born, these were my favourite type of festivals, the food, dancing, music. It was such a beautiful sight, no matter how many times I had witnessed it.
Tukhelped me weave a new top, it was a cream colour, with dark blue beads and a dark blue feather placed in the centre. She said they were from her home, at first I felt hesitant to take them but she kept insisting. And have you seen Tuk? how can anyone say no to her.
Tuk held my hand as we entered the festival, Neytiri trailing behind us. She did not seem as excited as Tuk, but that was okay.
"Sister" I turned and came face to face with Tseriya. We were not blood sisters, but we grew up together. "You look beautiful" I said to her. She showed us that amazing pearly smile of hers, her dimples showing. "As do you sister".
We sat on a bench opposite the fire, the music loud and the smell of the fresh cool ocean hit my nose. Across from the fire sat Neteyam with Lo'ak and some other boys. I found myself daydreaming, maybe a bit too long because before I knew it, a smirking Neteyam made his way towards me. I started to panic. Tseriya hit her knee against mine to get my attention, when i looked at her she moved her eyes to infront of me and back. "I know" I muttered, panicking even more. "Y/N" I looked up slowly, trying to seem relaxed. "Oh Neteyam... Hello" At this point I could hear my heart in my chest. He reached his arm out towards me, the same smirk on his face. "Come with me" My eyes widened and for a moment, I felt frozen. I tried to build up the courage to get up, but my heart was in my azz right now. I may soil myself. Omg i've been thinking for too long, he's going to think i'm stupid. I slowly stand up, still looking at him to make sure he was definetly talking to me. As I stood up, his hand was still out waiting for me. I closed my hand on his, and let his long slender fingers wrap around my palm.
He began walking towards the shore, his hand still tight on mine and his braids flying as his gaze would slowly look back and forth from the path in front of him and to me.
He stopped just before the water touched our feet. No words were exchanged between us, but there was no awkward tension. It felt peaceful and calm. Neteyam turned around slowly, a smile placed on his face. "You... No sorry" He sighed, taking a deep breath. "You feel like.. you make me feel like" He kicked the sand beneath his feet like a child. The motion made me giggle. "It is okay Neteyam. What is the matter? Are you hurt?" He gaze lifted up from the sand, now on me. He shook his head no. "I know we have only known each other for a short amount of time. But the feeling I am feeling, they are real. They are always here, even when you're not, because I am always thinking about you" My face relaxed, a new feeling bubbled up in my chest. It was warm, comforting, a little scared. Was that love? Did I love Neteyam? "You feel like home, I see you Y/N"

She was safe.
Jake had been repeating those words, over and over trying to convince himself that they were true.
Deep down he new.
The moment she hadn’t came home after eclipse Jake had wanted to send out a search party but Neytiri reassured him that Alue’k was just running late.
Neytiri saw her daughters inner struggle, she saw it in they way Alue’ks laughed sounded forced and how her smile wasn’t as bright as it was back home. Who could blame the poor child though? She had her life ripped away from her, having to start completely anew in a place that struggled to accept her.
Neytiri sometimes wondered if Jake have once felt the same as her daughter, he too had started fresh with an entirely new species with only a small idea of how things actually were.
However, her husband is strong, he adapts and overcomes easily while Neytiri can see her daughter turning into a shell of her prevues self and it terrifies her.
Neytiri had tried to help, tried to console her daughter but was always met with lies about being “fine” and that she was “okey”. Alue’k was never a good lier, especially to her parents.
The woman new her daughter need time with her thoughts, time alone. Neytiri had been the same after Sylwanin, all she wanted was peace and time alone with her thoughts.
So they let it slide, she was only five minutes late. The parents could scold her later for arriving after curfew, as long as Alue’k felt better that’s all that mattered right?
After an hour the pair grew worried (Well, Jake had been standing on his toes for the past hour but at this point he was nearly jumping off the walls).
Neytiri new her daughter needed time but it had gone on for to long, something was wrong. Panic swirled inside the mother, her daughter, her baby could be in danger and all she had done is sit and wait.
With a new found urgency Neytiri sprung up shortly followed by Jake and her sons. Kiri had sat next to Tuk who was beside worried for her sister as she nervously fiddled with her tail.
Neytiri - Enough of this, we must find her.
They all agreed and went looking for their missing family member. All the while worry and fear built up in the parents, why did it have to be the child that almost dies every chance life gets that had to go missing?
Neteyam? He is responsible, he can be trusted not to get himself into too much danger.
Lo’ak? Just follow the fire, he’s probably at the other end of it.
Kiri? She’s knows self preservation (must have gotten that from Grace as not many of the other Sully kids have that) she won’t willingly put herself in danger.
Tuk? Follows around her siblings, look for them and you’ve found her.
Alue’k? … Only Eawa knows.
Neytiri had went to search the small wooded area near the Metkayina village, it was small but large enough for a child to get lost in.
While Jake went to Tonowari, he knew Alue’k had befriended the chief son so  he prayed to Eawa that Alue’k was with them.
Sadly that wasn’t the case.
Tonowari had offered to help in the search and after a thank you, Tonowari, Tesriya, Anoung and Eek were out searching for the young girl.
Ronal stayed with Tuk in the Sully pod incase Alue’k made an appearance, Ronal also sympathised with the poor child crying over their sister. Ronal encouraged Tuk to pray to Eawa with her for her sisters safe return.
Ronal - Oh grate mother, I ask that the young child of the Suli family, Alue’k, is returned safely and in good health. Please great mother I ask upon your mercy and your loving, guiding light.
Tuk wiped away a stray tear that slid down her face.
Tuk - Please great mother, please.
Ronal watched the child a small sad smile appearing, Ronal had faith in the will of Eawa. The great mother was fair and true in protecting the balance she wouldn’t take a life so unlived, not yet, not when this child had so much life left to live.
 Thats what she hoped.
