it's been a little while since he's been on stage. juggling between school and work, he tries to remember the last time he got to perform in front of people, though his memory escapes him. while he enjoys working on music alone in the comfort of his own home, he can't say he didn't miss the stage. it probably won't be as serious as the ones he's stood on before, but, hell, it's something and he'll take it.

as he hands over the cd with the mr track he brought with him to camp, he takes in a soft breath and lets it out just as quietly to himself. he's a little nervous, though it's not the stage he's afraid of; it's the people that will be watching. judging.

he's usually a "i don't give a rat's ass about what y'all think of me" kind of guy in his lyrics, confident about his skills and spitting what makes him sound great, but what got him to his place now-- that place where he can comfortably rap and feel like it's okay to be confident about himself as a rapper-- wasn't such an easy journey. those times were scary and dark, where he felt extremely lost in life and had no idea who he was, but they aren't a part of the past he would like to erase as they made him who he is now. he isn't ashamed of it, but like most human beings, he's still a little scared to know what people would think.

he wonders if there are people here that even know who he is-- if they're even that far deep into the underground hip-hop scene to know who he is. he supposes not, or at least, he feels better if he thinks there aren't, because then he doesn't have to feel so afraid about showing himself; to crack open his wounded heart to show what he's been through. (he chooses to ignore the fact that some of his friends are out there as audience tonight; they deserve to know things about him, right?)

the song he chooses to perform tonight is one of very many he's been working on since his move to seoul, and at a camp with tons of young aspiring artists, he thinks it's a subject they can relate to and perhaps take something from it.

he finally walks on stage when it's his turn, taking in the polite claps that the audience gives him as he does so. he shows a small smile in return, bringing the mic up to his lips to briefly introduce himself.

"hey, what's poppin', campers. i'm suga and i'm here to rap for you a song of mine today. uhh..." he's never been good with words other than the ones he puts on paper, he just remembers. "i hope that it's something you guys could maybe possibly relate to and... i hope you don't lose sight of the great big dreams you brought with you here tonight." he nods his head faintly. good. that sounded all right. he holds up a thumb before pointing a finger. "dream." he turns toward the sound manager when he's finished, giving them a small nod to start the music.

the track begins with the voice of the female vocalist he asked to sing for him, and he slides his eyes shut to gather his thoughts and the lyrics. at a camp with tons of young aspiring artists, he knows it's full of competitive ones as well and he's aware that they might not listen all that attentively, but still, he plans on giving his all to reach out to them.

to not have something i want to do really feels like shit not to have even an ordinary dream is pathetic, i know, i get it but you said if i did as you told me, if i went to university, everything would be all right i was a damn idiot for believing those words, but i'm living because i can't die

just pass me a drink; i want to get drunk today so please don't stop me anything is good; drinking is a luxury for an unemployed bastard but if i'm not drunk i can't stand it everyone's running but why am i the only one here everyone's running but why am i the only one here everyone's running but why am i the only one here...

the female vocalist's voice fills the air again and he slowly opens his eyes to take a look around. he can't really see anyone with the lights bright in his face, but he tries to see someone anyways before letting his head lower to listen for his next part. (and at the back of his head, he wonders if he'd get in trouble or get kicked out for cursing.)

dream, it will be there with you for your creation and the end of your life dream, wherever you stand, the world will be lenient dream, at the end of all your hardships will stand your full blooming dream, your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be

he puts in his all for the part, wanting for it to get across to everyone like a message he wants to send them. to dream. to fly. to do what they want.

that's right, fuck, i'm living because i can't die not having something i want to do is, more than anything, miserable and lonely but everyone around me just keeps telling me to get it together i try to vent my anger, but the only one listening is me so what's the point every morning i fear opening my eyes-- of breathing

even my friends and family are drifting away and as time passes i feel more anxious it feels like i'm all by myself; i wish everything would disappear while i'm alone i wish things would disappear like mirage, i wish they would disappear i wish even my damn self disappears like this, i'm thrown away in this world that moment, i'm drifting further away from the sky i'm falling

the emotions from his place he's been at before all come rushing back to him, soaking him as he listens to the female vocalist's recorded voice. he repeats his message for everyone here tonight many times afterwards, the words getting more and more emotional as well as genuine each time he does.

"dream," he breathes at the end of it all, finally opening his eyes to look at the audience once more when he's finshed. the silence lingers for a few seconds before he's greeted with clapping once again, and he bows his head deep towards his audience for the night, wordlessly thanking them for clapping for him. for listening to him.

when he comes back up, a boyish grin finds his lips and he waves at everyone before walking off stage. he takes a deep breath and rakes his fingers through his sweaty hair before shaking his head to put them back into place. he doesn't know how many people actually opened up their ears and hearts to listen tonight, but as long as there is at least one person, yoongi thinks he's succeeded in what he wanted to do.
