They're making another remake of Huan Zhu Ge Ge? Where, where?!

Pretty much the only solid piece of news was when it was announced in 2018. A couple of months ago there were a few names being thrown around for the leads but we didn’t care enough to pay attention. 

(Listen, when your drama is still being rerun on TV every single year, maybe you don’t need to remake it.)

In somewhat, maybe, related developments, at the moment I’m more curious about Truth Or Dare  花好月又圆, which is supposed to be a remake/loosely based on Wrong Carriage Right Groom, which I loved. In Wrong Carriage Right Groom, Huang Yi, who played Xiao Yan Zi in Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3 (which is not the 2011 remake, and thus an entirely other conversation), played Li Yuhu, a character very similar to Xiao Yan Zi. It was probably half the reason she was casted as Xiao Yan Zi in HZGG3 and the reason I came into HZGG3 being somewhat optimistic about her casting at least. Then HZGG3 ruined Huang Yi for me, but now with more distance I do admit it’s less her fault and more the fact that the characterisation was regressive and the script was just bad.

(Wrong Carriage Right Groom does also star a young Nie Yuan in a quite husband-goals role, so opposite to his Qian Long in Yanxi Palace lol)
