A small continuation of the manga I posted yesterday.

I remember the first time I played In the Shadow of the Study, I was so bemused by Sebastian's heartlessness in the Crucio scene that I laughed uncontrollably in front of the computer. The Japanese version of Seb's "Are you alright?" line is a lot more heartless than the English version 🤣🤣🤣

With this move, I moved to a place that is a bit closer to Universal Studios Japan, and my husband and daughter gave me USJ tickets as a birthday present for me!🤩 I finally got to take my Seb and Omi plush toys to the Wizarding World, and became the chosen one for the Ollivander's Wand show (I was given a choice of a yew tree and a dragon's heartstring wand) and had the most fun day!😭💞

Below is a personal photograph of my family, although our face is hidden.

As it was my birthday, I also asked my daughter and husband to dress up in Hogwarts! The three of us (and my beloved Seb and Omi) were able to immerse ourselves in the wizarding world as much as we wanted and I am so happy 🥹💓

These are Seb and Omi that I drew a year ago, when I first got into HL... Ominis is almost bald, I drew Sebastian's parting wrong, and I'm embarrassed to look back at them now 🫠 Thanks to my addiction to HL, I've seriously learnt how to draw handsome men and I've grown up a bit, but on the other hand, I've forgotten how to draw women because I'm always drawing eyeless OCs... Anyway, I need to leave the preparations for the move and do some drawing 😩

Ominis and Japanese!MC when intimate...

There are many different cultures between Japan and the West, but when I started reading and watching smut created by people from overseas when I first started participating in HL fandom, I was surprised to find a particularly big cultural difference: the way women behave during sex!

In Japan, there is a tendency to think that it is sexy for women to behave moderately shy during sex without being too aggressive. In Japanese pornographic manga and novels, it is very common for women to say "嫌/駄目（no)" while panting, with a pleasant look on their faces. (⚠This is just to say that such a tendency is more common than in the West, and not all Japanese men are looking for women who are shy in bed! It depends on the individual 🤣)

Having spent 30 years in Japan with such values, when I read porno novels in HL fandom, I was very surprised to see f!MCs(f!OC) behaving so aggressively in bed! 🙈

From what I have read, there are not many f!MCs who are overly shy or use negative words such as "no" as a moan. This is a very interesting cultural difference for me as a Japanese!👀

I didn't get used to the behaviour of these MCs at first, but now that I've read a lot of international smut, I'm very attracted to MCs who are sexually active and Seb and Omi who enjoy sex with her to the fullest 🥵💞

And when I draw smut, I try to imitate the behaviour of the MCs in those from abroad, without making them too overly shy or negative.

In the Japanese version on the right, the MC says: "No. Don't thrust deep inside me!" In terms of Japanese values, she is far-fetched: 'I feel so good when you thrust deep inside me!' in Japanese, but a direct translation as it is would probably be considered strange by Westerners, so the English version adopts a more positive language for clarity. (I'm a complete novice when it comes to translation, so I don't know if this is the correct translation 😂)

In making smut about the sexual behaviour of Westerners such as Sebastian and Ominis, I try to portray the MC's behaviour in bed as positively as possible, but I cannot erase my Japanese values, and perhaps I may be depicting MC behaviour that looks strange to Westerners at times. I hope you don't mind the details 🤣 But it's fun to think and learn about the cultural differences between countries while watching, reading and making various smut in this fandom! I'd like to draw more smut when I'm free in real life after the move 😌

On a side note, When I first read smut in this fandom, another thing that surprised me, besides the differences in MC behaviour, was that both men and women often say 'F*CK' during sex! 😮 In Japan, we are taught that F*CK is a very bad word that should never be used, so for Seb and Omi to use these words was surprise to me as a Japanese person! I have been wondering for about a year now if it is actually common in the West to use these words during sex …👀

When I draw recently, I record a time-lapse to prevent problems, but I am having trouble with CLIP STUDIO PAINT running very slowly while recording 😫 My old computer is not going to be able to stand recording everything, so from now on I'm going to turn off the time-lapse recording function after recording up to drafting (or 3D model adjustment), line drawing and priming 🥺 That's the last time I'll post a time-lapse recording.

And I want to be able to draw sexy male hands without a 3D model...😂

Ominis smut WIP in undercut!

I really like the front-opening type trousers of this period, and the crotchless type of drawers that allow oral while wearing them, which I also drew yesterday! What a naughty structure… 🥵🥵🥵 And this time I intend to draw 'mushrooms' with skin on! I personally like mushrooms with uncircumcised pseudo-phimosis…🍄

To round off my year as Tamayula, I've only made one book of my own HL fanfiction for myself! I've been writing character x you fanfiction for almost twenty years now, but this is the first time I've made a book (Doujinshi), so I'm very excited😍

I thought about simply titling it 'Short stories about the Slytherin Boys' or something but I decided to be a bit stylish with the title because I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I quoted and paid homage to the heroine's line from my favourite novel The Dandelion Girl: 'Day before yesterday I saw a rabbit, and yesterday a deer, and today, you.' (I've always thought this line one of the most romantic lines ever since I discovered it in Portal 2 😌) The title refers to the MC's circumstances, such as meeting the owl who carries her acceptance letter, entering the Wizarding World after almost being attacked by a dragon, and meeting Sebastian (or Ominis), the man of her destiny who would later become her partner for life… 🤣

It's a book for myself, so I haven't corrected any typos and I haven't formatted it, but I'm very happy with the finished book, which I did almost everything myself, including the cover illustration and the design! (I borrowed the R-18 symbol and the white frame on the back cover from a design distributed on the web) The year 2023 has been a really meaningful year for me, in which I have been able to try many things!

I made these nail tips inspired by the Slytherin common room 🐍.

I made a bit of a mistake drawing the snake symbol and I want to make tips with other Slytherin designs, so I will try again soon 😂

My daughter is now on winter break, so I will be enjoying a few lazy crafty days with her for a while 😌

At a general store, I found some interesting stickers with a lot of Japanese slang printed on them, which I immediately put on Seb and Omi's photos! In addition, I translated these slang into Japanese with AI to study English! It was a great learning experience...😌 Sebastian's smile in this scene is comically praised in Japanese fandom as 「後方彼氏面」(the funny guy who acts like a boyfriend behind MC's back), so I'm happy to put the seal on it exactly right!🤣🤣🤣

Thinking about the appeal of the two Slytherins makes me wonder whether the HL dev team envisaged them becoming such popular characters. With Ominis in particular, did the devs expect that a character who is only a minor character in Sebastian's quest line would later become as popular as Sebastian?🤔 (Given the number of special settings granted to him as a character, it may have originally been envisaged that Ominis would be the protagonist of an important quest...Has the DLC been released yet...?🥹)

As everyone knows, Hogwarts Legacy has dubbed voices in French and German, as well as Japanese and other languages, in addition to English. For people like me, whose first language is other than English, which language version of the character do you imagine and create when creating fan art or fanfiction?🤔

As you can see in the picture above, Ominis speaks quite differently in the English and Japanese versions.

The Japanese version of Ominis speaks quite powerfully and loudly. When I first played HL in Japanese, I had the impression that Ominis was powerful and brave, so I was very, very surprised when I first heard the classy voice and speech of the English version of Ominis on Twitter. 🤣

The impression that the way you speak gives people is very big. To me, the Japanese version of Ominis and the English version of Ominis feel like completely different characters. So in order to keep the character's expression consistent, I try to imagine the English version of him when I create fan art and fan fiction for Ominis. (And of course I love the Japanese version of Ominis.)

Another reason why the Japanese version of Ominis feels powerful is his first-person pronoun.

There are many first-person pronouns in Japanese, and they are used differently depending on the gender and age of the speaker. Women almost exclusively use the first person pronoun 'Watashi (私)', while men have several options. In the Japanese version of the Hogwarts Legacy, Sebastian and Ominis use different first-person pronouns.

Sebastian is 'Boku（僕）', and this first-person pronoun tends to be used mainly by gentle, calm, and intelligent men in fiction. Ominis, on the other hand, is 'Ore（俺）', and these first-person pronouns tend to be used by men who are 'aggressive and masculine'.

The staff member who translated HL into Japanese described Sebastian as a 'gentle, intelligent man' and Ominis as an 'aggressive, powerful man'!

At first glance, the first-person pronouns for Sebastian and Ominis seem to be reversed, but I consider these to be excellent translations. I personally think that these express well the character of Sebastian, who is mischievous and always breaking the rules, but is actually a well-read and clever character, and the character of Ominis, who has tragic origins and is thoughtful, but also shows brave and somewhat controlling side😌

Do you have different impressions of the characters in languages other than Japanese compared to the English version, such as this difference between the English and Japanese versions? I am very curious!

Side note: I only found out today that the family name of the French version of Sebastien has been changed to 'Pallow'! I also learned for the first time that "Sallow" is an insult in French😳. Come to think of it, the 'L' pronunciation doesn't exist in Japanese, so I pronounce him 'Sarō'. When I type his name in Japanese on the keyboard, I also type 'sarou'!

My handmade plush toys are already being used to play with my daughter's dolls🤣

My daughter, who loves to play house, seems to have made an improvised house for them with cardboard and doll furniture. My daughter told me that the blonde girl doll sleeping in the foreground is the child of Sebastian and Sakurako.

……She thinks and plays in a similar way to me, her mother… 😳

Summary of plush toys making

First of all, I would like to say that in Japan, making plush toys of anime and video game characters is a trend, but it is also criticised by many. There are also many people in Japan who say that it is an infringement of copyright and that it is unacceptable to make plush toys like this for personal use. (Of course, selling these plush toys is a complete taboo in Japan.) Therefore, I would like to declare at the outset that the following instructions for making plush toys are not for the Sebastian or Ominis plush toys, but for the mc plush toys 🤣

Firstly, the full body shape of the plush toy. I used a plushie paper pattern I bought at a handicraft shop, but a Japanese person published a free pattern on Twitter, so I think you can use this to make a human-shaped plushie in the same way! There is also a video by this author in Japanese.

About face embroidery I made a plush toy in the recently trendy style of attaching and sewing forelock fabric to the face, and this YouTube video was very helpful! The video is in Japanese, but with English subtitles, so it is easy for English speakers to understand.

About Other. The pattern on the jacket and trousers was hand-drawn with a white pen. The tie and dormitory emblem were computer-drawn illustrations printed on postcard-sized printable cloth

Extra Various designs You can change the placement, change the size of the parts, and change anything else you like 🙌 You can add and use whatever you like to make the face you want to make. (Please don't use these designs to make products and sell them on Esty etc.)

I am incredibly bad at sewing, but I managed to make a plush toy. I'm sure there are definitely many people in HL fandom who are better and more dexterous at sewing than me, so I'd love to see other people's creations and share this post and desain 🙌💓 (And if you're good at sewing or handcrafting, please do give me a sneaky tip on how to recreate Sebastian's or Ominis's hair…🤣)

The last piece of plush that I had planned to make has taken shape 🙌

There is a possibility that proper official Sebastian and Ominis plushies and merchandise will be released in the future, but of course no chance of mc merchandise being released, so I made my own! It didn't turn out perfectly according to the finished drawing, but I'm glad I finished my Sakurako plush 💕😭

I also made the drawers she wears under her skirt. I accidentally forgot to sew the crotch of the drawers... 😏 (I love Victorian-style naughty drawers)

All that remains is to make three robes for them and two jackets for the Slytherin boys🥹.

A little extra to the last picture. Ominis is a gentle gentleman and would normally be able to walk in step with his partner, but before he started dating MC, he must be too nervous and walk very fast🤣 It's so much fun to fantasise a lot about Ominis being clumsy in love!
