i had assumed it was like other marvel stuff, where falcon is a shield agent, and that “on your left” came out of some kind of shield exercise thing

There’s a lot of things about Steve’s character that i wish would’ve been explored more, and one of those things is body dysmorphia. Cuz like no matter how much he might’ve hated his body before, it was still his body. And he lost it. His enhancements weren’t just some powers, the serum changed the way his body looked completely. It’s not like bruce where he still has his own body, or tony who can take of the suit, no that’s just how he is and there’s no off switch. He lost his body, like that’s gonna fuck with his head. I’m not gonna believe it just had no effect on him. But then again they barely touched the subject of like the most traumatic part of his story, yk the whole “70 years in ice, lost everything and everyone i cared about”, so i don’t know what i expected.
