In Defense of Holden Caulfield
I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever understand why exactly people hate Holden Caulfield from “The Catcher in the Rye”.
I mean, sure, you could defend your dislike with a classic gem such as, “Oh, he’s just a whiny, pretentious f***boy! He’s so boring, all he does is complain!”
But at that I’m just like
okay, wow, I’m sorry the incredibly depressed mentally ill teenager who has no true friends and is constantly being ignored by the people he tries to reach out to and is constantly being told he’s useless and a bad influence by his peers and has alluded to being sexually molested by multiple people as a little kid and has to deal with the pain and hardship of growing up in a world he can’t help but see as superficial and hypocritical and WHOSE CLASSMATE FRICKIN’ COMMITTED SUICIDE IN FRONT OF HIM isn’t a conventionally cheerful or likeable protagonist????
I don’t understand why that’s so hard for people to grasp; it just straight up BAFFLES me. I mean, people eke out all sorts of ways to like downright villains like Alex (DeLarge) or Loki or Ramsay Snow/Bolton, or antiheros like Jaime/Cersei Lannister, Sherlock Holmes, etc.
Why is it so hard to dole out a little sympathy for Holden, who, ultimately, just wants to protect children from the evils of the world—arguably one of the noblest and most heartbreakingly tender aspirations of all?

Hi
How are you?
How is your familly doing?
Me? Oh, great, and not stressed for once.
I bought some clothes 3hours ago. I am hungy, but food is too far from my bed.
Last night, I talked with 3 of my friends, and it was cool. I’m kot going to tell you what happened EXACTLY, but i was so freaking great. Also, I think I might have reconnected with a old friend. L'ets call her “gaga”. Two years ago, we met. We were in the same class, and as you can guess, we were best friends. Because she lived three houses away from me, she used to come a lot at my house. Yesteday, she finnaly came after one year of absence. And it was amazing. I felt so damn good with her. I missed her. Hope she’ll spend summer with me. And hope you’ll like this post, “gaga”.
Work you said? Brevet is in one week. 19th an 20th june. I work hard,and i think i’m ready.
See you when I’ll have something interesting to say.

Tennage years
Hi, I'm a fourteen years old girl. I'm french, so you might want to keep this in mind while reading my blog. IF you read it. My biggest quest in life, is honnestly to just get trough high school without to many sequels. If you don't undestand this, just keep in mind that I HATE school more than anything else. Something about me? Well, first I am a girl, witch is verry relevant. I love reading, and people in my class are fund of making fun of me because of it. Also, I have one best friend (kinda) and 6 or 7 real friends, witch i am going to talk a lot about. I am a VERRY hardworking teen. I do get straight a's most of the time, but in two weeks, we have a final exam, called in french "brevet", to pronounce "bruhvay", and it's basically an end of the 4 years of the third cycle, witch FREAKS me out, so I work A LOT. And of course, whatever I do, people always make fun of me. Did I told you sometjing about my parents? Wait, you'll have more infos in a verry short time. Don't think that i am depressed or else, I honnestly don't care. I hate school, school hates me, great. This blog is about my life, and how i'll get trough my tennage years all by my own.
