Quite a fancy place

Sundew had been looking forward to tonight ever since she had received her invitation. she arrived to the ball in the lovely little outfit she had gotten ready beforehand, opting to use a modified teleport. nothing too flashy, just a puff of confetti upon arrival at her destination. before her stood a massive dome with stained glass windows of the various phases of the moon. against one side of the dome was a lush garden, and at the other side was a pond stocked with various exotic fish. there was also a massive line to get inside. as Sundew took her place in the line, she shot a glare down at her shadow, whom was looking up at her with a faux innocent expression. "you had better behave tonight, i don't need you screwing this up for me," she quietly warned the living shadow. its usual pastimes were harassing the local wildlife and making mischief around the tower, but hopefully the little troublemaker would behave for once. slowly but surely the line grows smaller and smaller in front of her until she's at the front, face to face with the host. "Welcome to the Blue Moon Ball, Please leave any weapons you have in the designated receptacles and enjoy your time here," they say with a smile. "thank you so much for inviting me." she gleefully replies as she heads inside, her shadow reluctantly depositing its beloved musket, a gift from a certain bastard gnome, in the bin amongst various other weaponry. everything from daggers and swords to a massive war axe and what looked like a pair of blades made of solid bone lay in the designated bin. the entryway was adorned with gold and crystals, setting an elegant first impression as Sundew entered.

tonight was definitely going to be fun.

This is exactly why wizards wear giant hats. Not only does it look cool AF, and goes with pretty much anything else you may be wearing, it keeps you dry in the rain, shaded on hot days, and offers wind protection.

Real observations since I started wearing a wizard hat daily:

- Brim is so wide that I stay BONE DRY taking walks in the rain

- Brim can be positioned to block the sun from ever getting in my eyes AND keeping it off the back of my neck

- The pointed top part creates an air pocket, keeping my head from getting hot or squishing my hair as it might in a ball cap

- Hat can easily be pulled down over the tips of my ears without looking dumb, protecting them from wind chill

- Strangers say they like my hat, giving me the chance to tell them that I am a wizard

- When you’re wearing a wizard hat, ALL OTHER FASHION CHOICES become secondary, allowing you to branch out with style

Embrace ego death. Stay protected from all elements. Wear a wizard hat.

You find a letter addressed to you...

The envelope is a pale, moonstone white with gold filligree. It is sealed with a wax seal, the engravings from the stamp showing an intricate magical spell used to ensure the letter was delivered to you.

If you are with a friend who also recieves a letter, you notice that each seal was customized to specifically reach you and you alone.

The paper inside a fine parchment with an invitation written in deep blue ink....
