Some map elements also appear from another perspective in "The Strata of Skaro" from The Dalek Outer-Space Book (8 Sep 1966)

Interestingly, looking at these it becomes obvious that the map in The Dalek Race's Counter Attack! is actually based on the 1979 Dalek Annual, released almost 2 years earlier, rather than one of the original Dalekmania tie-in books. Coastlines match up far better between them and both use a West-East orientation for the map. They both also expand a bit more from the original map margins, revealing areas like the top of Southern Dalazar in the bottom right of the image.

By comparion, Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe clearly seems to have gone back to the original design, though we do see some changes. For example, for some reason the Island of Gushing Gold has now become a peninsula off of Darren. There also does seem to be a bit of the same easterly curving of Southern Dalazar, though this may or may not be a coincidence.

In 1953 Magpie Electricals was contacted by a being known as the wire. Its plan utilised Magpie’s telivision sets to steal the faces of watchers of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. The Tenth Doctor was easily able to foil The Wire’s plan in “The Idiot’s Lantern”, but Magpie Electricals continued on. In “The Runaway Bride”, one of the websites the Tenth Doctor was going through on a phone. Later in “The Sound of Drums”, we see a bomb strapped to Martha’s Magpie Telivision. Martha wasn’t the only one to have a Magpie T.V., so did Wilf in “Voyage of the Damned”. Also in that episode is a Magpie-brand microphone used by the entertainment on the alien cruise liner. In the Sarah Jane Smith Adventures episode “The Mark of the Berserker”, Sarah Jane Smith’s computer was a Magpie Electricals brand. Many of the components in the Tardis interior from “The Eleventh Hour” forwards had Magpie Electricals brands on them including the monitor, the typewriter, the keyboard and a miscellaneous control by the mustard dispenser as seen in “Vincent and the Doctor”. In “The Beast Below”,you can see a Magpie Electricals sign on Starship UK in the 33rd century. Moving with the times, Magpie Electricals also produced scanners like the one River had in “Day of the Moon”.

My Most Liked Posts of 2022

2022 has been a good year for me. I’ve posted a lot here but also started posting on YouTube and Instagram. Also had so much fun looking at other peoples posts on tumblr, Instagram, Facebook groups and videos on YouTube. I’ve learned some things about Doctor Who that I didn’t know before. Didn’t really like the 13th Doctor’s ending but still got sad that Jodie Whittaker is no longer the Doctor. Got more and more excited about the 60th anniversary specials after watching the trailers. So it was a good Doctor Who filled year. Hope your 2022 was also filled with good things and moments.

[ What I want to see in the Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor Tardis ]

Partly because of the supposed leak of the TARDIS interior design, in this post I want to talk about what I want the future TARDIS interior to look like.

The thing that I always need to see in a TARDIS is of course those round or round like things on the wall. That I think we’ll all agree is always necessary in a TARDIS.

One more thing I would like to see is some little detail or part of the TARDIS to be uniquely to that version of the Doctor. For instance for the 13th Doctor there was a biscuit dispensing mechanism which I think we only saw once. Something like that or perhaps like with the 10th Doctor he had a rubber hammer that he would use for the console. Something funny like that or it could also be a furniture like bookshelves that the 12th Doctor had in his console room. What ever it is big or small it should only be his thing.

For the look of the room I don’t want it to look too spacious but also not to small like the war Doctor’s.

I want the lighting to be that you can see each detail of the room well but also not being too light. I don’t want it to be dark like the 13th Doctor’s but also not too light like the TARDIS’s used to be in the very beginning. The white color worked well at the time but because the screen and image looks crisp and perfect then it used to I don’t think colors like white or similar colors such as light blue like the fugitive Doctor’s TARDIS will work in a new TARDIS that we will be seeing over and over in every episode.

I want the TARDIS to be a balance of unfamiliarity of being an alien ship but also having an aspect of warmth and seeing something slightly familiar, a little bit classic and of course it should be exiting. I think the 9th and 10th Doctor’s TARDIS was a mix of this. And they design A brand new never seen before TARDIS that is unfamiliar but has a classic feel and is exiting. That’s what I want to see in the new TARDIS.

The Tardis Library in The Sarah Jane Adventures

Sarah Jane Adventures has returned to iplayer. So for the last few days I’ve been watching it for the fist time.

If you haven’t seen it yet don’t continue for there are spoilers.

In one of the early episodes of The Sarah Jane adventures, Sarah and the kids go to St Agnes Abbey to rescue Luke who’s been kidnapped by the nuns. This is in the last scene of part 1 and the first scene of part 2 of the two part episode ‘Eye of the Goegon’.

Most scenes of St Agnes Abbey like The library, the Abbess' room, the bell tower, the secret passage, the cellar, and various corridors were filmed in Cardiff Castle. If you’ve seen my very first post then you will probably remember that I’ve mentioned that name before and especially find the library familiar.

Cardiff Castle was used as a filming location several times in Doctor Who but the most notable one I think is the library. The library of Cardiff Castle was used as the library of the TARDIS in the episode ‘Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS’ With additional levels to the library added with CGI.

The inside of the Abby was filmed mostly in Cardiff Castle but the exterior scenes were filmed at Margam Country Park.

Now that I’ve seen the episode of the Serah Jane Adventures in which the Cardiff Castles was used I want to see it even more.

If you are out side of the UK and want to watch iplayer, you can use a VPN. iplayer is free and the only thing you need to sign up is an email address and a password. For a few years now I’ve been watching it using ExpressVPN. BBC doesn’t want people doing this and technically you are not supposed to so sometimes depending on the VPN you use or some other reasons iplayer will see that you are using a VPN and won’t let you watch (the same thing that happens with Netflix).

ターディスの図書館がサラ・ジェーン・アドベンチャーに

The Sarah Jane Adventures サラ・ジェーン・アドベンチャーが何日か前にiplayerに帰ってきました。というわけで、前から観たかったので、ここ数日、初めて私はいくつかのエピソードを観ました。

この番組はドクター・フーのスピンオフで、ドクター・フーよりも若い視聴者を対象にしています。若い頃、ドクターと共に時空を超えて数々の冒険をした調査ジャーナリスト、サラ・ジェーン・スミスの冒険を中心に描かれたお話です。サラ・ジェーン・スミスは3代目および4代目ドクターのコンパニオンでした。

まだご覧になっていない方は、ネタバレがあるので先に進まないでください。

サラ・ジェーン・アドベンチャーの初期の二部作エピソード「Eye of the Goegon」で、サラと子���たちは修道女に誘拐されたルークを救出するためにSt Agnes Abbey(セイント・アグネス・アビー)に行く。これがパート1の終わりと、パート2の初めで観られる。

図書館、修道院長の部屋、鐘楼、秘密の通路、地下室、廊下など、St Agnes Abbeyのほとんどのシーンは、Cardiff Castle(カーディフ城)で撮影されました。

カーディフ城は『ドクター・フー』の中で何度か撮影場所として使われましたが、最も注目すべきは図書館だと思います。カーディフ城の図書館は、エピソード「ターディスの中心への旅」でターディスの図書館として使われました。今は英語だけですが、私の一番最初の投稿がターディスの図書館についてです。

アビーの内部はほとんどカーディフ城で撮影されたが、外部のシーンはマーガム・カントリー・パークで撮影されました。

前の投稿でも言いましたが、セラ・ジェーン・アドベンチャーズでカーディフ城が使われたエピソードを見たので、もっとカーディフ城の中を見学したくなりました。

Today back in 1963 the first episode of Doctor Who, An Unearthly Child was broadcast.

Fun fact, according to a Metro (British newspaper) article from 2017 about this day, The first Doctor Who series was originally called 100,000 BC but was later changed to match the first episode in the series, being called An Unearthly Child. I didn’t know this until I read this today.

面白いことに、この日に関する2017年のメトロ（イギリス新聞）の記事によると、ドクター・フーシリーズの第1作はもともと「100,000 BC」と呼ばれていましたが、後にシリーズの第1話に合わせて「Ane Unearthly Child」という名前に変更されたそうです。今日この記事を読むまで知りませんでした。

A Short Review of The Power of the Doctor

As I expected the pacing was quite hectic. Even more so then the last season Flux, which I have said before in my Flux review. But because there were so many characters that came back (companions and former Doctor’s) I was surprised and smiling almost the hole time. That almost made up for the story not having a ground to latched on to. But did this episode really needed to happen other then for the Doctor to regenerate? After watching the hole thing I still don’t understand the title ‘the power of the Doctor’. Frankly I didn’t understand anything that happened. I also felt like there were a lot of unanswered questions from this episode and sone from previous seasons. My feeling is that I think the writer crammed in to many characters, and scenes in to it with out doing much with the bigger story. There was just too much going on and at the same time not much going on. That’s how I felt.

I was of course quite surprised at the ending as I’m sure lots of people are. But I’m not sure if it was a good surprise or a bad one. I was surprised mostly because what some people where theorizing really did happen. The Doctor de-generated. Or is he just the 14th Doctor and that‘s not what happened?? I’m confused. Doctor Who is confusing. But I still can’t believe she regenerated in to David Tennant’s Doctor. When I first heard someone saying it I thought that it’s just not going to happen, they will not write something like that. But I guess I was wrong?! I am very curious to see how it continues in the 60th anniversary special.

But now I’m just sad and disappointed that Jodie Whittaker ended here time on Doctor Who with out being in at least one great episode like lots of the former actors who have played the Doctor have had. Although my feelings of her time on the show was always not great I will still miss seeing her face as the Doctor.

My Favorite and Least Favorite 13th Doctor Era Episode

Favorite episode: The Ghost Monument

If I considered all the episode of New Who with all the 13th Doctor’s episodes then this wouldn’t be in the list of favorite episodes. In fact it will probably be in the least favorite list just because of the fact that Doctor Who has a lot of episodes. Even just in New Who. And there are lots of episodes that I think are even better then this one. But that doesn’t mean that I didn’t like it. Because I did. In fact I can even say that I really enjoyed it. Considering that I mostly didn’t like series 11 to 13 and the specials in between and after this was a little surprising to me. I remember enjoying it the first time so I rewatch it and my thought was ‘this really isn’t bad’. Then to look at why and what made this episode good I rewatched it again just before writing this. And like the last two times I enjoyed it.

Watching it the second time I remember thinking how I liked the lighting/color of the whole episode together with the location that most of the episode was filmed in. And also the episode felt properly exiting. This time around I noticed that all the actors looked like they were having a lot of fun and looked quite exited about what they were doing. I felt that excitement. As I recall I don’t think I’ve seen this excitement from the actors since this episode. Or maybe I’m just projecting my feelings? One thing that I like the most about this episode is that it doesn’t try to do to much and It doesn’t feel hectic like so many episodes of the 13th Doctor’s era was. This episode isn’t all over the place, moving quickly from scene to scene with the Doctor constantly moving from place to place talking and explaining away every detail instead of sometimes showing the viewers what is happening. It was more grounded with more breathing time in between moving around and running. Because of that I could understand and follow what was going on. After watching her entire seasons and specials it felt refreshing to watch. A proper episode that I will be happy to go back to.

Least Favorite: Episode: Rosa

My dad is from Alabama so that might be part of the reason why I have a strong dislike to this episode. Part of me is attached to the place so I don’t like it when it is not well portrayed. A dad episode effects me more when it is something close to my heart. Especially by people who are not from the place or country in this case. But I think that this is true for everybody. Part of me that doesn’t want to admit it thinks “What do you know about the people there.” But in reality I don’t know to much about it as the next idiot. I also don’t live in America and never did. So I must admit that I’m quite ignorant about the history of Rosa Parks and about black history.

But what I do know is a bad episode when I see one. And this I thought was pretty bad. For me the song at the end was the point where I thought No. This is really bad. I didn’t like the writing, the soundtrack, and almost every thing about it. I thought it was a little forced at times. Like the time travel guy, and Rosa Parks even. Was I supposed to like her? She felt flat and the determination of her not wanting to move wasn’t coming across. Although she might have actually been like that. I was really disappointed because well, it’s Rosa Parks! And why doesn’t Doctor Who ever get the US? Is it just me that thinks that Doctor Who is just not good at doing episodes that take place in America? Especially a historical episode. I think Doctor Who has always been bad at doing those kids of episodes. Maybe Doctor Who needs a good American screen writer to co-write these kinds of episodes...? Doctor Who if they tried I think can do better. And If a good America episode is not possible I wish they would just leave it alone and not do it. That is my feeling of this episode.

Sorry that I haven’t been posting for the last two weeks. I was planning on posting last week but I got sick and I wasn’t finished writing my post so I couldn’t. But now I’m ok and so here I am posting again. I’ve decided that the thing I was planning on posting last week would work better if I post it next week instead.

Because in a few days we are going to say goodbye to the 13th Doctor I thought I would look back at all the 13th Doctor era fan art I have see through her era and share the ones I like the most. Some you have probably seen before in my previous fan art posts or maybe remember the artists name. If you haven’t seen those posts the link is at the bottom.
