There are, of course, three angles from which we can approach this. There's the version where we milk the incongruity for as much comedy as possible. There's the horror option, where we consider how smiles and hospitality can mask selfish, sinister intentions. Or we can shoot for genuine eroticism, gambling that there's actually a lot of people who want to be locked in a chintzy yet well-appointed bedroom and called "cutie-pie."

Regardless, the story must take place in the absolute dead of winter. Not so easy for the protagonist to make a break for it when it's eighteen below and there's five feet of snow on the ground, after all.

okay nobody asked but these are my thoughts re: all of the rogues in the '66 Batman series who are just. played by multiple actors and it's never addressed or explained within the show at all.

so the three different Catwomen (Newmar, Meriwether, and queen icon Kitt) are like. they're besties. they're former college roommates, maybe. they're BFFs who are all kind of mean with each other but they're still regularly hanging out and getting brunch and maybe eating each other out a little. mildly toxic but they hype each other up. to it's kind of a Mystery of the Batwoman situation where three women are all just using the same name and same(ish) costume except they're not ever trying to hide it at all.

none of the Mr. Freezes actually know each other; those are completely unrelated men who are using the same name because it's convenient and there aren't actually a TON of good ice-themed names out there when you really think about it. knowing how '66 Batman works they do all probably run into each other at a ray gun enthusiasts' convention or something and it's predictably awkward.

#There is definitely a lot of blur but I know the difference when I feel it... #Mind you because I'm alloromo (is that the term?) the easiest explanation is that romantic love is just platonic love + sexual attraction #But also romantic love is...exultative? possessive? self-depracating? #all in ways that platonic love isn't #Also it's extremely difficult (maybe due to my comparative lack of experience) to separate the *experience* of romantic love #from the *desire* for romantic love #and that in turn from the desire to *be* romantically loved #Like. When I drill down deep into my actual romantic desires #not the exciting daydreams that are for fiction only; but the stuff that I would actually *want* #I want to be chosen and appreciated by a nice person who makes me feel safe and who's fun to talk to #And who I find at least a little bit sexually appealing (and who finds me more than a little bit sexually appealing) #Anyway this turned into a ramble; I hope some of it was useful to you
