Every time someone brings up adding wheelchairs or mobility aids to life sims people are like “but that’s too depressing! I’m trying to play my ideal life!” and it’s like

1) do you not think wheelchair users might also want to play their ideal life

2) DID YOU JUST FULL CHEST FULL ASS ADMIT YOU SEE PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS AND GET DEPRESSED??? DID YOU JUST FULL TONGUE IN YOUR FULL SHIT MOUTH SAY “but in my ideal world people like them would not exist 🥺”. FUCKING EUGENICS JONES OVER HERE LIKE “but what about my great race society :( “

And people are always like “oh that’s reasonable, people want to escape”, like no it isn’t. I’m not gonna dictate how others play their game, but it isn’t reasonable to want to escape the completely neutral existence of people who are different from you! It’s shitty! That’s a shitty way to look at other normal human beings living their normal lives!

i’ve been thinking about the whole sims 5 vs paralives thing lately. honestly i’m not sure i’ll be buying either of them since i’ve just put so much time into modding the sims 4 to the point where i have so much fun playing and literally never get bored lol. i know it’s a few years till either of the games get close to release but what are your thoughts?

Thoughts on the new EP

okay so i’m a total sucker so obviously i got the Horse Ranch EP yesterday. i know this pack has been getting a lot of hate even before it’s release which is typical for any EP in the sims 4 since a lot of them have been underwhelming. tbh though (and this sounds awful) but i’ve just learned that if i keep my expectations low for any sims pack i’ll have more fun with them. so far i’ve really liked the pack! i worried that caring for a ranch would be stressful and just constant work with no time for anything else, but it hasn’t been so far. nectar making is also cool and you CAN make a lot of money from it. i like the pack for what it is right now but there are a few things i’m disappointed about. probably the main one is line dancing. it’s not even called line dancing in the game and (to my knowledge, i could be wrong) isn’t even a new skill??? also i wish competitions weren’t just a rabbit hole. i feel like it would have been so easy to make them a real part of gameplay like cheer competitions and sports games from High School Years. it would have added a lot more imo. but like i said i always keep my expectations low. i’ve liked some of the build/buy too like the walls and floors and the counters. so far i’d give it a 7.5/10.

Hobie Hair by Alerii

My first hair commission!! I was really honoured to be asked to create Hobie's hair from ATSV!! This is just my interpretation of Hobie's Wicks, using mostly concept art but also official appearances in the movie. Not consistent with my sources to make hobie proud ofc.

is anyone else really annoyed by sims voices? if there’s one thing i wish they would add it’s the option for different accents! it would be really cool if townies had different accents do based on world. is there a mod for this or anything? i’m not super knowledgeable on the logistics of modding so if that’s super unrealistic i’m sorry lol

rating sims 4 expansions

hey all!!! i’m gonna be rating the sims 4 expansions i have and telling you whether i think they’re worth it! these are in chronological order.

Get To Work

rating: 8.5/10

get to work is def a must have pack for me. i don’t really use the careers like doctor, detective, scientist but the aspect of making your own business offers SO much gameplay and is just a huge blast. i just wish that they had the option of live-in business without mods and aliens left more to be desired. also not a huge magnolia promenade fan, but still love this pack. def one of the best packs to buy as your first.

Get Together

rating: 8/10

this was pretty strong for the second pack ts4 released. there isn’t a huge amount of gameplay here but i do really enjoy the clubs because that way i can create my own friend groups or support groups for sims which adds to story a lot. also one of the best worlds ever and the build/buy is pretty good too. another good one for a first pack.

City Living

rating: 9/10

listen, i think as simmers we can all agree that city living is one of the best packs ever. it’s really unique in terms of living spaces and i think having the option to move your sim to an apartment offers a lot for storylines. the only reason it doesn’t get a 10/10 is because there isn’t a lot of gameplay other than unlocking apartments. for that reason i wouldn’t recommend this as a first or second expansion, but regardless one of my favorites.

Cats & Dogs

rating: 7/10

i love being able to give my sims pets! this was actually one of the more recent packs i got so i haven’t had it for very long, but it’s been fun. i’m not a HUGE fan of the vet career but it can be fun for a little while. the only thing that annoys me about this one is how easy it is to take up household slots with pets.

Seasons

rating: 8/10

seasons has a special place in my heart. it’s one of those packs that’s so integrated into my gameplay that sometimes i forget it’s even an expansion. the build/buy stuff is wonderful and holidays can be such a blast if you’re into that. however, it bothers me that this is an expansion since obviously seasons should have been a base game aspect. despite that i love this pack.

Get Famous

rating: 6.5/10

oh, get famous. this was actually the first pack i ever bought. i enjoyed it a lot at the time but now that i have more i see this as one of the weaker packs. it’s not bad by any means and it was fun as my first pack, but for me it’s just not that memorable now. i feel like i don’t really use fame a lot but that’s just due to my own gameplay style! def offers a lot of storylines but i don’t find myself using it a ton. i wish there were more options for child stars.

Island Living

rating: 8.5/10

i feel like this pack is overlooked a lot! i still have a lot of fun with this one. mermaids are such a cool occult despite there not being a ton of special abilities with them. Sulani is just an awesome world to me!!! summer on sulani is my favorite. who doesn’t love an off the grid beach house? as an avid builder, they’re some of my favorites to make.

Discover University

rating: 7/10

i don’t always have my sims go to uni, but when i do i have a lot of fun with it. building dorms is a blast for me (using cheats, ofc). i also love using the basemental drugs mod with university. this is a fun expansion but def not for everyone. i just wish there were more interactions for teachers/classes instead of the rabbit hole. also secret societies could have been so cool if they’d been more elaborate so that takes my rating down a bit.

Snowy Escape

rating: 5/10

this might be controversial. sorry to anyone that’s a huge fan of this one. skiiing and snowboarding are fun but there’s just not enough gameplay to make this pack worth it to me. the build/buy is pretty cool but i could totally play without this pack to be honest. i see this one as kind of an opposite to island living but it doesn’t match up to the level that island living is on for me.

Cottage Living

rating: 10/10

my all time favorite pack. i think it’s genuinely so fun for my sims to run a farm and Henford-on-Bagley is so quaint. this pack totally lived up to my expectations and exceeded them! it’s not a great first expansion pack but one i would totally recommend it!

High School Years

rating: 7.5/10

This is the last one i have since i’m missing Eco and Growing Together. nostalgia definitely plays a factor in my opinion on this one since it was such a nostalgic time in my life when this came out! i know this pack got a lot of hate (which i feel like is a typical response from the community) but the build/buy is so good and it’s nice to have the option to go to school. i wish the cheer/sports team matches were better though and the default school is so bad. still a fun pack to me and i’m glad i have it since i think it adds a lot for teen sims.

so i’m planning on making a list at some point of my specific favorite pieces of cc for cas, build/buy, etc. but i want to start but listing my fav creators!

i think i might have every piece of her cc!!! the eyelashes are a MUST and i’m in love with the newly released harmony object set!!!

@serenity-cc

a must-have cc creator right here. every single one of her collections is beautiful! she never misses. if you’re new to cc, start with serenity.

@dogsill

the HAIR!!!! it’s amazing. i was so stoked when i first discovered dogsill’s cc! plus, he has an awesome stranger things set.

one thing i love is cc hair that comes with custom colors. simandy has her own hair colors which are called “puppycrow” and let me tell you they are stunning. downloading simandy cc is such a treat.

by now it’s probably obvious i love a good hair cc and if that’s your thing okruee is the creator for you. i have LOADS of hair cc and still can’t make a sims without using at least one of these hairs.

now, if we’re talking clothing cc, madlen is where it’s at. not only does this creator have the best outfits for teens and adults, etc. but also so much for kids!

@ridgeport

so i’m not sure if ridgeport is currently active in making cc, but regardless their cc is amazing. i’m in love with the paloma top and aubrey skirt. they also have some great hair, too!

belloallure

last but certainly not least! not sure why i couldn’t find their tumble as i’m pretty sure they have one, but a quick google search will take you to one of my all time favorite creators for clothing. belloallures clothes are some of the most creative and unique i’ve ever seen in sims and is the creator im currently obsessed with.
