• The Psychocine Project, a groundbreaking musical venture, emerges with a revolutionary concept of creating music remotely from different corners of the globe. The project's aesthetic DNA is a fusion of humankind and machine, channeling the vibes of retro 80s waves. The lyrics delve into the lifestyle and fantasies of the modern urban dweller, presenting a hyperrealistic poetry that defines the new era of apartment music.
In May 2021, Fernando Calabrón and Octávio Brandão, former members of a renowned Brazilian rock band, embarked on this avant-garde journey fueled by their shared passion for electronic sub-genres and the influence of 80s waves. Octávio, residing in New Zealand, dedicated himself to crafting compelling lyrics and vocals, while Fernando, a cinema specialist, took charge of the intricate production process.
Their debut track, "Morning At The Casino," offered a vivid glimpse into Octávio's experiences in Auckland, capturing the essence of the city's vibrancy. Overcoming technical limitations, Octávio invested in a local studio, bravely completing the song amidst the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.
Recognizing the need for a robust market strategy and more material, the duo joined forces with Gabs, a skilled producer based in Brazil. This collaboration gave birth to "Emily’s Neck," but the challenge of a comprehensive marketing plan persisted. Enter Ivzz, a Brazilian migrant and music enthusiast in New Zealand, whose bedroom became the creative hub for recording two futuristic tracks, "Sudden Cyborg" and “Just Some Reasons.”
The team expanded further with the inclusion of Eduardo Rosseti, Ski, and Rodrigo Coura, longstanding music partners. Eduardo, a Mathematician, and Rodrigo, a live musician, contributed significantly to the creation of songs like "Screams From That Old House," "Hungry Ghost’s Drive," and "Up In The Psychosphere."
The synergy among these seasoned music partners has brought Octávio's vision to fruition, resulting in a diverse portfolio that solidifies a unique identity for The Psychocine Project. This collaborative effort not only overcame technical challenges and geographic distances but also laid the foundation for a compelling musical journey, showcasing their collective creativity and establishing a distinct presence in the music industry.
The Psychocine Project invites music enthusiasts and the curious alike to embark on this extraordinary sonic adventure. Stay tuned for their upcoming releases and witness the convergence of global talent in the creation of a musical experience like no other.
