I think Rowan as a character gives Heartbreak High a chance at delving into what a "scary" mental illness could look like in the show's setting. Like yeah he's a destructive person but it would be interesting to see how someone with psychotic symptoms could reintegrate with his peers and get to a place where he isn't living with constant trauma.

I think Cash could be autistic I think he shows a few symptoms and could definitely be undiagnosed due to his unideal childhood and because he masks it well.

August's dad killed himself, his mom and stepdad screwed off and left him to pick up the pieces of that/manage his own finances as a teenager, he has body dysmorphia and an eating disorder, he was apart of a sexually inappropriate hazing ritual partly orchestrated by his cousin and biggest idol/he himself contributed to the exploitation of said idol's younger brother, he fell in love and got broken up with (twice?), his one true home in his school was taken away from him and now he's expected to be king one day.

Like I don't know what I say all this to say, but its a lot.
