Hi! I really liked your headcanons of heartsteel with a missing child. It was so adorable So I was hoping I could send in something similar? A request for headcanons of heartsteel with a missing teenager? The teenager is very silent, a little sarcastic or witty with comebacks but overall very private and maybe likes literature or art? If you can't just ignore this request ofcc!
Thank you so much for the ask - I didn't have any inspiration to write, but I did feel much better today. I'll probably make a seperate post for all 6 members of heartsteel. But for now I hope you'll be happy with the Kayn scenario! 2K words.
Kayn:
Sitting under the bridge, you glanced at the water before you. Remaining rays of sunshine reflected in rippled water - a wonderful display of orange, purple and yellow. Weaves crashed against the edge, creating a calming hum that rang against your ears.
Although the situation was far from ideal, you were still hopeful. You still carried a few items to your name other than your wallet and clothes; your book, which contained various poems; your ipad, that let you do your commissions; and lastly, your headphones, so you could relax and listen to music whenever you desired.
As the sun started to disappear behind the horizon, you finally decided to sit down on the ground. It didn’t take long for you to grab your headphones and your ipad - you had work to do. You worked on your commission diligently. The fresh, cold breeze helped you focus, along with the music that played in the background. You still had some battery left; looks like you won’t have to go to that internet cafe anytime soon.
While you were focused on your task, you didn’t notice the man that was a few feet away from you, a bag in his hand and neck gaiter. He didn’t pay any attention to you whatsoever.
Instead, he was focused on the task at hand. He gingerly rummaged through the bag, retrieving a can of spray paint. With a long stride, he reduced the gap between him and the wall of the bridge. It didn’t take long before he started his work.
He layered the fundations roughly and quickly. Somehow, even with his bold and aggressive motions, all of his moves seemed calculated and pre-planned. Soon, a pale visage could be made out in the darkness that seemed endless, with fire soon following the visage closely behind and spreading throughout the endless void. The image was as morbid and detailed as it was impressive.
Neither of you paid any attention to each other. That is, until the man accidentally threw one of the cans away, and by some miracle - it just had to hit you on the top of your head.
Obviously startled, you looked around for the culprit, that was responsible for your throbbing headache. And there, you saw him. Messy hair fluttered in the wind as he continued to move around recklessly, and somehow, you couldn’t help but roll your eyes at him. Grabbing the can, you made sure to throw it at his back when he was facing away from you.
Before he could even turn around, you went back to what you were doing instantly, pretending to be completely obvious.
He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw you. What the hell was a kid doing there, at this hour? Kayn was ready to fight whoever threw the can at him, but it seems like he had more pressing matters to attend to.
“Ay, Kid. Why are here?”
If it wasn’t for his obnoxious voice - that you could hear through your headphones, by the way - you wouldn’t have noticed that he was even there. You continued to pretend to not notice his presence, which only seemed to irritate him.
At this point he pulled his mouth mask all the way down as he repeated his words, this time more demanding than before, with the addition of him weaving his hand in front of your face. Which obstructed your view of your commission that you were working on.
Rolling your eyes at him, you made sure to save your progress before closing down your ipad and putting it into your bag. Only then did you notice how he was hovering over your sitting form. He seemed more scary than before, somehow. His weird pink eye didn’t help. Did he even get it checked? You still wouldn’t show your discomfort, though.
“Huh? Last time I checked, this is not private property. Leave me alone, Mister.”
Kayn didn’t like the tone of your voice. Not even the tiniest bit. He swore he could feel his temple pulsate from how annoyed he was. This was exactly why he hated children and teens alike - he hated disrespect more than anything. He grit his teeth before ushering you to go back home.
“Yeah, no. It’s well over the curfew. Get back home or I’m gonna call the police - now move your ass.”
He hated being responsible for other people. You were in a weird ass remote area, it was late and barely any cars passed through the bridge. Kayn was honestly surprised at the fact that he was the only one around other than you - this area wasn’t exactly the safest, per se. Yone would be out to get his ass if the word got out that not only was he committing vandalism again, but that he also left a teen alone in a dangerous area.
You shook your head at him, muttering a “Nu-uh” under your breath.
Was it possible for him to take you to the nearest police station by force? He examined your silhouette. Yep, he could definitely drag your ass to the nearest police station, no questions asked. He was much stronger than he led on.
“Listen here, you little gremlin. I’m gonna drag your ass to the nearest police station if that’s the last thing I’ll do. You can either follow me willingly or I’m gonna take you there by force.”, he pointed in the direction of where the road was and gave you a harsh glare as he grabbed your hand by force.
The strength with which he pulled you up not only surprised you, but it instantly made you dig your heels in the opposite direction. You absolutely refused to be dragged away by him - there’s no way you’re going back home. Your parents can fuck off into narnia.
You thrashed around and fought, winces and growls escaped your lips as you tried to resist his strength.
“Leave me alone! I’m not going back to them!”
At this point his jaw was tense. Fuck Yone and fuck the responsibility he taught him.
“Unless you got a good reason, I’m draggin’ you to the police station, Kid. Better talk, or else…”
Shit. You really didn’t want anyone to know, but you really didn’t have a choice, did you? You stopped thrashing around and instead stood still in place as you took a few breaths to calm yourself down. Kayn finally let go of your hand, letting you pull up one of your sleeves.
You moved your gaze to the side in shame as you let him gawk at your bruises and scars, before pulling the sleeve back down harshly, and hiding both of your hands behind your sleeves altogether.
The situation was more serious than Kayn anticipated.
He expected you to just be acting rebellious - just like most teens do at this age. Heck, it hasn’t even been that long when he was a teen himself, and he remembered damn well what shit he used to do.
Cursing under his breath, he took out his phone and called the most responsible and knowledgeable person he knew, which was none other than Yone. He saw you visibly freeze up when you heard him talk on the phone. He simply told Yone to move his ass to where he was, cause whatever this was, was more serious than he would ever be able to tackle, if at all.
Did he feel like an asshole? Yes. Would he ever admit it? No. The fact that he saw you shake - probably because of stress of the whole situation - only made him feel more terrible about himself. He hated it.
Rummaging through his bag, he quickly found a pack of hot chips and a monster. He was supposed to enjoy it later, after he finished his masterpiece, but this once, and only this once, he would make an exception. He would share. Kayn shoved the snacks into your hands, muttering something about how you should stop being such a scaredy cat and that you should sit your ass back down for now. There was no apology coming out from him, though.
You really didn’t understand why you listened to him. Because - frankly speaking - he was an asshole that tried to drag you somewhere, where you would be in danger. But for some reason you got the feeling that he didn’t have any ulterior motives. His rough personality and weird eye aside, he didn’t seem like a bad person at all.
As you munched on the snacks, you observed as he finished up his graffiti. It felt… familiar.
After some hard thinking, you opened up your book. Flipping through the pages, you finally found the one you were looking for. It reminded you strangely of one of William Blake’s poems. More specifically, his Urizen series.
Turns out, you were correct. The description fit the painting perfectly. It got you kind of excited, actually. You kind of hoped he knew who William Blake was, since it seemed to be so rare to find people who knew of him. The thought alone got you so giddy that you sprung up from where you were, gingerly making your way towards him. You didn’t even notice when you tugged on his jacket to get his attention, and time seemed to move even faster when you made him look at the poem itself.
He knew instantly which poem it was - the graffiti was supposed to be Urizen himself. More than anything, he was surprised as well that you knew of it. Most people slept through their English classes, and the only reason he knew of William Blake was because of the Devil May Cry series. Thanks to the quotes V was reading in his book, it made Kayn curious and that’s how he discovered William Blake.
Shortly after the shock wore off, he snapped back to his usual personality. “Yeah, it’s supposed to be Urizen. What about it?”
You didn’t really know what to say to that. Instead, you pursed your lips together in a straight line and stared right at him. You really knew how to make him feel like shit, huh? Pushing just the right buttons to make him annoyed and care for you - is this how having a younger sibling is supposed to feel like. Not that he would know how it feels like.
You closed your book and got back to your spot without a word, cautiously eating the chips and sipping on the energy drink occasionally. For the better or the worse, Yone finally came sometime later. Kayn filled in Yone on the most important details and it didn’t take long for him to come up to you, so he can introduce both himself and Kayn to you. It totally slipped Kayn’s mind to introduce himself, he realized.
Yone was much more courteous and well-mannered compared to the brute that was Kayn. He managed to get your name and age out of you, before trying to ask you a few more private questions about your family - all of which you refused to answer.
Finally, he asked you if you wanted to stay the night at their place, since it would be more safe for you that way. To the best of your ability, you did try to discern if Kayn or Yone had any bad intentions. But soon enough, it became obvious that they did not harbor any bad intentions. Collecting your thoughts and counting all the pros and cons, you decided to agree.
From then on everything was a blur. The ride in the car was comfortable. It was warm and cozy and you didn’t even notice when you fell asleep. More importantly, you didn’t even remember falling asleep in a bed. All you remembered was warmth and a subtle smell of wilderness and lemongrass.

Actually you do not need to respect the creator or their intentions for the characters when writing fanfiction or shipping.
That's kind of the whole point of fanfiction and shipping-- doing what you want with the material without regard to the original creator's intentions.

You don't have to interact with a piece of fiction that you know will be upsetting to you.
If you interact with a piece of fiction despite knowing it might be upsetting for you, don't fucking blame the author about it.
Don't interact with untagged or unrated fiction if you know you need to know ahead of time if it will be upsetting to you.
Don't blame the author if you read something you don't like.

Aphelios x Reader - "Dreaming of You" (Part 6)
“It’s more like I’ve read about it, Alune,” you took a deep breath and continued, “How much do you and Aphelios know about me?”
Alune gravitated towards you, closing the distance between the two of you. Her head tilted to the side and her hair soon followed. She soon answered your question. “Little Beam, Mother Moon sent you to us.”
“Well... I think Mother Moon meant that quite... Literally,” you took a deep breath, ready to explain everything and trying not to sound too crazy. “My guess would be that I’ve been somehow transmigrated or teleported to Ionia, honestly. From a faraway place, of course.”
Aphelios watched from the corner of his eye as the scene unfolded.
Alune closed the gap even more, seemingly excited as you revealed that tiny bit of information. She pressed her palms together and closed her eyes. “Mother Moon is amazing, isn’t she?”
Yeah, Alune wasn’t impressed with your information. Aphelios, however, looked straight at your form. No longer watching from the corner of his eye. He was waiting for you to continue.
“Yeah... Seems like she holds immense power.” You continued to walk, looking at your surroundings.
You were back on the original track, the night as vibrant as ever. Not much change could be seen, though. The mountains seemed endless, stretching across the vast field of vision presented before you. You focused on the feeling of the wind as you contemplated your next words.
“In my world... Runeterra is not real. It’s a story with multiple stories woven into it, deepening the world. So, I guess I’m knowledgeable about many things when it comes to Runeterra, although I can be clueless when it comes to some things.”
Okay, you lied about it being a part of a story, kind of... Since it’s originally from a game. But you doubted they knew what video games were and you were not ready to open that can of worms yet.
Alune mused, a quiet hum filling the air. Aphelios offered a raised eyebrow as he looked at you.
You just walked ahead, putting more strength into your steps.
“That’s interesting, Little Moonlight. Can you tell me more about the place where you come from?” Alune asked, enthusiasm in her voice as she flew in front of you, stopping you in your tracks.
“Sure... Where should I start?” You agreed to her request, ready to answer most questions that could be thrown your way.
You truthfully told her as much as you could about your own world. Information ranging from animals, to nature, to lack of magic and the language and different cultures. She seemed really hung up on the lack of magic, wondering how you could survive. Which led you down another rabbit hole, technology and other advancements humans made over the years.
Warm sunrays hit your skin as you made your way along the trail. You followed Aphelios obediently, depending on him to lead the way. With how effective today’s hike was, you were already halfway through the way to Weh’le. In turn, it meant that soon enough you would discover what Mother Moon has prepared for you.
As warm morning sun rays enveloped both you and Aphelios, you enjoyed the tranquility that took over your body. Alune eventually disappeared as she usually did around this time. There was only you and Aphelios at this point.
Since it was morning, it was time to find a safe space to rest. Not too far away from the main trail, not too sunny. You found a small butte some distance away, enough to cast a shadow over both of you.
As you placed your things on your right side, your legs could finally rest. Aphelios stood on your left.
He brought his right hand to his shoulder and massaged it, before leaning against the stone wall and sliding down, until he was finally sitting on the ground under his form. A sight left his lips as he relaxed.
“Hey, Aphelios.”
Aphelios looked in your direction, his head tilting to the side as he cranked his neck to look at you.
“Do you have any questions? About my world. Alune was quite curious, but if there’s anything you want to know, you can just ask.”
The man looked to the ground, thinking deeply before swinging his head from left to right, clearly signaling that he doesn’t have any questions. A hum leaves his mouth. He leans his head against the wall and closes his eyes, ready to rest.

Wow that's actually putting a lot of thought into it, that was actually such a cool way of looking at it and I do agree that the SB skin line is basically myths with stand in figures of the characters but about the seeing a clone of himself or getting possessed it technically couldn't be possible since FOR NOW that the major lore update isn't here yet, the skin lines are still like AUs basically
Idk i just know I'd absolutely devour whatever it is you write lmao, slow burns are so satisfying but stand alone one shots are pretty good to give yourself a break and enjoy a more direct romance again write whatever you enjoy since sometimes writers forget to count themselves as readers
Idk idk reading how you think just made me squeal like a little girl, I love the lore and seeing people actually interested in it is so KAAJLNDAL yk?
Thats so sweet, thank you! Waited with chapter 5 just to send it (Almost) directly to you ;)
Anyways here's the chapter!
Aphelios x Reader - Dreaming of You (Part 5)
Truth be told, you didn’t get to ask any questions that day. Or the day after that.
Right now, you were on your third night of travels, as you and Aphelios continued on with your way towards Weh’le. Admittedly, you were only one third of the way, so you still had a long way before reaching your destination.
The night was still young. With the cloudless sky, the moon shone brightly as you and Aphelios walked along the river.
The River of Navori. It was, in reality, multiple branches of water that eventually all connected and created one, big branch.
As the luck might have it, you were able to spend the night at an inn close to the Placidium of Navori, where you were able to rest your legs and finally take a bath. You were even able to eat a normal meal while at the inn! And now, you were walking along the river, feeling refreshed because of the rest beforehand.
The area was slowly becoming more unfamiliar. It was different from the green, lush views before you that you were already used to.
Currently, the scene was taking shape of a more mountainous area. The mountains were still a good while away. But that didn’t stop the slopes of land appearing before you. Steep terrain was becoming a challenging hike for you. Still, not so challenging for Aphelios. Curse him and his long legs. Again.
The man was walking like it wasn’t the most intense walk you’ve had in the past few days. At the current trail, the ascend was the most tiring you experienced so far.
You were already worried about the more grueling hikes you’ll have to take soon. With a deep breath, you collected as much vigor as possible to follow Aphelios’ lead.
Nothing much happened after your adventures during your first night at the unfamiliar place. Your hand was long healed. And no other problems appeared.
Meanwhile, Aphelios’ didn’t experience any more mishaps with the noctum poison. He was still regularly taking the distilled concoction. But he didn’t have the same reaction as he did the first time. Instead, Aphelios would only cough a few times. Secondly, he would experience some level of dizziness.  Lastly, he also would experience some kind of paralyzing effect. Luckily all of the symptoms went away almost as fast as they came, disappearing after a few minutes.
Each time he drank the poison, Alune would appear close to him. You would greet her warmly. When you asked her how her day went, you were sure to tell her about what you experienced so far. In as many details as possible.
It seemed to make her quite happy. Being the curious girl she was, she had no problem picking up on the little words and asking about them, hoping to gain even more details of living in Ionia, or the terrain surrounding it.
When she saw the Shuang Yue blades at your side, she was mesmerized. She couldn’t stop admiring the blades, which had delicate signs of the Lunari on them. The handles of the blades were made out of wood that was similar to rosewood. To the delicate wood were attached two crescent blades each. They almost reminded you of knuckle dusters. The metal was made out of moonsilver and moonstone, blended perfectly together.
Alune was obviously knowledgeable on them. Not necessarily on how to use them. But she seemed to think it was a gift from Mother Moon. Given specially to you to help you on the journey.
She also helped to explain that the flowers you saw that day in the cave were noctum flowers. No wonder they hurt like a bitch when you touched them. The Seer went into great detail as she explained how they came to be and how they only bloom during the night.
At some point you had to stop her from talking, albeit gently. The main reason was that you saw the same mist as you did during your first day. You called out to Aphelios, catching his attention. He turned his head and glanced at you, waiting for you to continue.
“I see the mist. Do you see it too?”
He looked in the direction you motioned with your hand. Then he looked back at you and shook his head. A silent ‘no’ was your answer, it seems. All you did was notion for him to follow your lead. You were the one walking in the front and leading the way now.
Nearby, behind the big hill, was a small shack. The trees, which were small, twisted and turned in various ways, creating the building before you. With how the Ionians lived, it wasn’t surprising that the trees were very much still alive. It’s no doubt that the woodweaver, who convinced the tree spirits to grow into such a shape, was talented.
The mist was leading you towards the shack and you silently followed. Aphelios obediently after you. Alune was on your side, silently flying in the air, observant.
A gentle light was coming out of the opening in the wall. Instead of a door, a material hung loosely where a door would have been. Even in the darkness, soft colors of orange, blue and pink could be seen under the bright moonlight. They were leaves of the trees, creating a living roof on top of the building, accentuating the house’s beauty.
Aphelios’ first reaction was to retrieve one of his weapons, no hesitation could be found in his movements. His presence was almost suffocating as he nearly loomed over your form as he followed you. Movement was calculated and confident; he straightened out his back and maintained a clear vision on the shack before him.
And then there was you, the complete opposite of him. Your back was slightly slouched, breathing was uneven, and you looked everywhere and anywhere curiously. Everything about your form screamed relaxed or harmless, compared to Aphelios.
Hence, it was no surprise that when you wanted to knock on the wooden frame and call out to check if someone was inside, Aphelios stopped you. He grabbed your hand firmly and gently tugged you backwards.
As your eyes met his, he gave you a shake of his head, a silent plea for you to wait. Feeling like you don’t have much of a choice, you stood quietly, observing his movement and intentions.
As he left you there to stand on your own, your hand felt strangely cold all of a sudden.
Aphelios and Alune went around the shack, trying their best to check their surroundings. Admittedly, it was quite easy for Alune to just float around in the air and check, but Aphelios felt the need to make sure.
He came back shortly after. Aphelios casted a short look on your form, before nodding at you. Giving you a small signal to continue.
You came up to the entrance and knocked on the wall. A shuffling sound could soon be heard, and you could see a pair of feet peeking through the material before you.
A wrinkly and elegant hand grabbed the material and pulled it to the side. The woman was standing before you, her silver hair was illuminated in the moonlight and her obsidian eyes stared back at you, curious. You felt suddenly awkward. For some reason you expected something... Different. Definitely not a person.  You put on your best, friendly smile.
“Hello, are you a Lunari, perhaps?”
Aphelios’ face was priceless as he stood behind you. He was stunned. His form became instantly stiff as he looked at you, cranking his neck down at your form. Aphelios was fighting against his whole body to restrain his need to lift up his arms in defeat.
The tan woman hid slightly behind the doorframe as she examined you and Aphelios. Upon seeing Aphelios, however, her demeanor changed completely. She noticed his clothes and the markings on his scarf. The woman stepped out and you could see her whole wardrobe.
A moon crest necklace hung loosely around her neck, with a purple gemstone in the middle. Her clothes, which consisted of a mix of black and silver, hung loosely. As a finishing touch there was a silver rope with a bell at the end, which held her outfit together securely in place. Her gaze moved from Aphelios to you.
“That’s... Correct. Is there anything you need?”
You tried to explain it as briefly as possible, “The Aspect of the Moon needs our help. We need the people. Please come to mount Targon.”
Obviously, the woman raised her brow at that, not believing you completely.
How were you supposed to persuade her? The situation was terrible already. And Aphelios can’t help you because he can’t talk right now. One way or another, in the midst of you trying to explain why it was so important, it seemed like she finally understood the weight of the situation.
It took quite a lot of time to explain the whole history. Starting from Aphelios and Alune, the children of destiny. To the celestial cycles and finally, to the Aspect of the Moon herself, Diana. It was a sign to change the tide of the battle. All in favor of the Lunari.
The whole situation dawned on her, it seems. All the woman did was nod, only a few words leaving her lips as she spoke, “I understand. I’ll let our brothers and sister know.”
Elderly woman went inside her little shack. A shuffling sound could be heard as she rummaged around in her small home. Eventually, she came out, a water pouch in her hand. She put it in your hand, her gentle touch grazing your hand.
“You might need this, child. Take it. May you be safe on your travels.”
And with that, you and Aphelios started to walk back towards the original road. Throughout the whole time Alune was quiet, but now, with the situation out of the way, she went back to her curious personality.
“I didn’t expect you to carry so much knowledge, Little Light. Who taught you?”
It made you freeze a little. Maybe you could talk about it another day?
After imagining the conversation in your head for the past few days, you were so sure you had your perfect little conversation ready, all the way from point A to point B. But now, with the occasion right in front of you. You suddenly felt like a fish out of water.
How were you going to explain this? Should you just lie?

Oooh are you re-writing it? I actually can't wait I'm like that one reaction post of the dude bouncing on every corner of the paper (no pressure and actually have an enjoyable time writing and tweaking the story, remember that writing is an art and you don't necessarily have to write everyday of your life to be a good writer, if you write something you like you're already doing things good :D)
Yeah I'll edit it a little (nothing major) to make sure it's gender neutral and just checking spelling (like when phone auto correct changed for some reason tree to three) and then I'll be back to writing part 5! I'm usually doing research while writing so it was tiring to write on Tumblr and then exit the app and it published the chapters for no reason while I was reading about Ionia and it's Geographic lol
I want to make sure the story as much possible to real Ionia as possible. Been diving into the skinline plots and spoke with my bf, and he said that since the spirit blossom skin line is based off of the myths (something I knew already, plus that the characters represent cerian spirits, like Phel and Alune being twin spirits of the moon if I remember correctly) so, when a character appears in the SB skinline it kinda makes the character Ionian?? Like since Phel is from mount targon, but in the SB universe he is Ionian. It all sounds confusing as fuck and I've been browsing subreddits for the past few days and reading up on Ionia and skinlines connected to it and looking at the Runeterra map and stuff. But the SB skinline threw me for a loop and redditors don't help.
There was one comment that put it pretty nicely "The skins are inspired by canonical Ionian legends but they're fundamentally champions as stand-ins for those figures (at least, most of them)." So I've been thinking about introducing SB festival at some point in the plot, since SB Festival takes place in Weh'le.
So I've been wondering how I should do it, like do I just make phel be possessed by the Ionian spirit since the veil between spirit and human realm is so thin in Ionia, especially during SB festival? Do I make him (base Phel) see basically a clone of himself (SB Aphelios)? Do I just make him enjoy the festival like a normal person? The possibilities are endless lol
Maybe I'll write a one shot when I finally learn to not write slowburn stories. But I can't help it since I want it all to feel natural and I don't want it to feel rushed and I'm exploring how to write phel better as a quiet character and stuff lol.
Sorry for rambling, I hope I didn't bore you and that you got a sneak peak into my mind haha!
I also made a pov phel playlist on Spotify that I use for writing maybe I'll send a link someday to show what I listen to while writing and fantasizing about Phel and imagining the story 🥺❤️

Thank you you are the best ❤️ it's one of my headcanons that phel likes OSU so I've had this idea for a while but had no idea how to write it! You did a wonderful job. I was squealing while reading ❤️❤️❤️
Hello! What do you think about a scenario where Aphelios and reader meet in OSU or another game?
Like reader creates maps and uses songs that aphelios actually likes and so he ends up being the player that she always sees on her stat map charts with almost always being top 1. And one of them gets curious so they reach out on the app/netsite and they get to know each other?? Like kinda how they met and how their relationship would evolve over time. I'm not good with words but yeah!
❥ prompt: You were a revered OSU! map creator. He was a map farming legend. Especially your maps. He was always at the top of the stat charts. Praised or scrutinized, he was the daily hot topic in the /osu subforums. His username was the only thing you knew about him : m00ncake. You had no idea he would end up being Aphelios from the band Heartsteel. That's until he showed up at your job by accident, and you connecting the dots. Oh, did you forget to mention you worked at a maid café? ❥ content/warnings: fluffy fluff, mild hurt/comfort, minor angst (?) ❥ characters/pairings: Heartsteel!aphelios / f!reader
Tumblr media
This was it. Your magnum opus! Once your song map hit the platform, thousands of players immediately clicked to dominate it. It wasn't going to be easy for them. You'd taken special care of making it more challenging than your previous maps....especially for one certain player.
m00ncake had a history of over-taking over any map within the first try. After every song, there he was: placed at number one. With astronomical stats that would take days of practice for any of the top streamers to compete with. It's what made the whole scene that much more competitive.
But every gamer had their weakness. And you made this map specifically to exploit m00ncake. You had analyzed his replays. Over and over again. In the darkness of your room, till the desktop screen stung your eyes dry.
He was exceptionally good with rhythm, timing, and anything technical. If you could throw him off, even a little, you'd consider that a flawless victory. This time around you would delay the kick sliders, just by a fraction, before the uptick. The rhythm theoretically the same, but the minuscule margin of delay would throw any muscle memory built up from your maps alone.
You waited with baited breath. m00ncake played and finished your map. The stats were posted. Yet again, he proved to be the legend he was considered to be. Despite your best efforts. With the numbers alone, there was no way another player could possible over-take him.
A few moments later, you received a direct message:
m00ncake: nice song. also fun map. can i ask a question?
You heart thumped inside your chest. Gulping, you allowed your fingers to type back:
mcreader: oh, thanks! and sure, go ahead. m00ncake: did you purposefully slow down the kick slider at certain parts? if you did, it was actually pretty challenging for me. i'm usually on auto-pilot so that kind of threw me off. haha
After that message, your friendship blossomed. Frequently messaging each other on the platform, to then adding each other on Discord. Whenever you posted a new map, m00ncake would call you, and have you listen to his insane key-board clicking sounds. The most intense ASMR one could experience, really.
It was always great to get feedback from him after he would finish. Being the professional OSU! player that he was, it was nice to get insight on possible map formations, songs, to just general technical suggestions. To no surprise, you both enjoyed the same style of music. It explained why his play history consisted of mostly your maps. Even your least popular ones.
But he never spoke. Not even a whisper. And you never pressed it. If he was just generally shy with speaking, you could understand. You didn't mind doing all of the talking, and him replying with short text, emojies or tts.
mcreader: i found a great song for a new map. but i have work now, so i'll probably do it later tonight. maybe post it if im not too sleepy. m00ncake: sounds good. i'm excited to play it when it comes out. i'm usually up at night so if you need some company, let me know. have a good day at work. ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧
mcreader: will do! and tysm! have a good day too! ttyl! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
You pressed your phone to your lips. m00ncake was always so sweet, supportive, and always a treat to talk to (Well, text to). You just wished you knew his name. Or anything more about him, really. He was always very secretive. It made you wonder why.
When you made it to work, you dressed and fitted into your maid outfit along with the rest of the girls coming in for shift. You heard giggles and whispers, "Hey, did you see that guy that's at that one table? He looks just like Aphelios from Heartsteel!" Another girl wiggled excitedly, nodding her head. "Totally. But it's so hard to tell. He's got his mask on and has his hoodie up. No, there's no way it's not him. As a die-hard fan, I can tell!"
"That's enough, girls." The manager clapped her hands at attention. "Everyone already has their table assignments. And there will be no switching. Whether we have a special customer or not, we always provide excellence in our service. Understood?"
After learning your table assignments, you were ready for your shift. And looked like you were assigned the very table everyone seemed to want. Whines erupted around you. "How come she get's to serve Apehlios? I bet she doesn't even know who Heartsteel is." The mass of complaints silenced as the manager clapped her hands once more.
They were right. You weren't too knowledgeable on the up and coming band. But if they were right, then that made you all the more nervous. It wasn't everyday you served someone of musical prestige. You usually served single college guys, the occasional cute couple, or a group of high-school girls on a fun after school date.
"Welcome back, Master! It's an honor to serve you again today." You sang your rehearsed spiel at the customers table. 'Masters' were always treated as if they had come home from a long journey. "I'm glad you're back safely. You must be tired after being away from home so very long. Please, let me recharge you by taking your food and drink order."
What on earth? You almost broke character. You watched as the young man had his phone out, playing OSU! in the most casual way imaginable. He rolled his blood-moon eyes to acknowledge you, expression veiled. He placed his phone on the table, but his fingers continued to tap his screen while he scanned the heart-shaped menu.
D-Did he memorize the whole song!? The whole scene was out of this world. So distracted by this detail, you almost didn't realize he was trying to communicate. You looked down. He pointed and tapped a finger at his order. A lavender latte and dessert combo.
"Wonderful choice, Master. I'll let the fairy's know right away. Your dessert and drink will be out shortly."
You scurried away with the order. When you returned with a tray, you sought to investigate your customer a little more. It was customary to draw art on the latte foam. You smiled sweetly, drawing the shape of a rabbit. "I'm so happy you returned home, Master. I was so worried because it had been so long. Once I heard you were coming back, I couldn't help but be excited for today. The day when we would finally see each other again."
Honestly, you were just trying to ramble and waste time. He never bothered reacting to your whole gimmick. That gave you security to scan your eyes over his phone screen. Your breath hitched. His username...his username...his username...
m00ncake
You practically squirted the whole bottle of chocolate sauce on the table. Recovering with an innocent laugh, and wiped the table dry, and ran away to take cover in the employee's only section. You pulled out your phone and opened Discord:
mcreader: hey! super weird question, but um, what're you doing rn??????? m00ncake: ...me? just out and about. having something to eat. why ( ° - °) ??????? mcreader: i was just wondering, and im sorry if this is random but...is....is your name aphelios by chance?
After pressing send, you peeked around the corner. You watched as the young man tapped on his phone. After a pause, his eyes snapped wide. Panicked, he looked around the space. As if trying to find a proper response to your question.
It is you, you pressed your lips firmly together. You went back to his table and took his wrist, encouraging him to follow you. "Oh! Master, let me guide you to the restroom." You announced loudly, leading him away. You dragged him into the dressing room. Since next shift wasn't for a few more hours, no one would bother walking in.
"m00ncake, Aphelios--whoever you are. What're you doing here?" How embarrassing. If you ever decided to meet in person, you didn't want it to be like this. With you and your silly frilly outfit and cringey maid character (even though you did enjoy it). But this was way over the top than you imagined!
Aphelio's backed up slowly against a locker. He didn't say a word. Blinking wildly at your question. You pulled out your phone, revealing your Discord and OSU! conversations with him.
"You see this? That's you! And now I know that it's you...you're m00ncake...and Aphelio's from Heartsteel...and I-I'm..."
Why? Why? Why? Why couldn't he have been anyone else than a supposed famous idol star? Why couldn't he have been some normal guy with an obsession with online rhythm games? Someone weirdly normal, like you.
So why....why did you have to like someone so out of your league?
Girlish talk and laughter bounced outside the changing room door. Fearing the worst, you dragged you and Aphelio's into your clothing locker. You made shushing gestures to your lips, which was ironic, since you knew at this point he never said a word.
A couple of girls walked in, laughing to one another. "Wow, I can't believe I lost one of my hair ties. Thanks for letting me borrow yours." The other then replied, "No problem! I always keep spares in my bag. Hey, look. Whose headphones are these?"
In the frantic mess of your actions, Aphelio's lost his headphones. The pair continued to laugh and talk, wondering exactly where the headset even came from. You shifted your gaze upwards. And your heart squeezed horribly inside your chest.
Aphelio's had his eyes half-lided, almost closed. Breathing laboriously through his mask. He looked as if he was in pain. Flinching whenever one of the girls giggled too loudly, or the other raised their voice in excitement. In the condensed space, he had no room to move his arms and cover his ears.
Your eyes widened at the realization. This...this is all my fault. Carefully, you squeezed your arms up, cupping his ears in your hands. In this angle, your cheek condensed into his chest. You felt the erratic thumping of his heart. Slowly, it settled to a steady rhythm. The heaves of his chest dissipating to normal breaths.
When the girls finally left, you uncovered his ears, both slipping out of the locker. You picked up his headphones, adjusting them against his ears. You then fitted the hoodie over his head, wearing a sad smile, "I'm so sorry. About all that. About everything, really. Can...can you forget about today? And don't worry about paying for your meal. I'll cover it."
You didn't let him type or gesture a single word to you. Resuming character, you escorted him out of the maid café, with a take-home box in hand for his troubles.
Your shift dragged on. You didn't bother sending any messages to m00ncake. Or actually, Apehlios, you should say. And no messages came from him, either. Good...it's better this way. The two of you living in two separate worlds.
When end of shift came, the sky had darkened. With your dress bag slung over your shoulder, you left the café. When you stepped onto the sidewalk, someone familiar stood at the side.
"A-Aphelios, why did you..." before you finished, he messaged you on Discord. You opened the message:
m00ncake: i didn't want to forget about today. in fact, do you want to ride the train together?
You paused. A smile then formed across your lips. With a nod, you placed yourself at his side. In a comfortable silence, the two of you walked shoulder to shoulder. Your phone buzzed. Another ping:
m00ncake: i should probably say this, but i actually have a thing for girls in maid outfits. you can shove me in a locker and call me master anytime. (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
You blushed furiously, grabbing his arm and shaking it with a whine. Thinking maybe, just maybe, two totally different notes could be part of the same song.
an: omfg what a cute idea this was! honestly, im not versed in rhythm games, but i tried my best. maybe i went overboard too. thanks so much for the request @timetoeatthebread-blog!

Heartsteel! Members suddenly have to take care of a child; Headcanons (Gender neutral and in an imaginary world where police is THAT useless. I like to think it isn't)
How they found you and how they reacted :
Tumblr media
Kayn:
- He was literally minding his own business
- You ran up to him because of his pink eye and pink hair.
- Just straight up grabbing his left leg and not letting go, like a little menace.
- He tried to shake you off
- Almost fell face first into a wall while jumping around with his free leg.
- The little tic (You) had the grip of a true warrior.
- You bit him in his calf.
- Didn't hurt him that much. Instead it spooked him because he didn't expect a small child to have such sharp teeth. He hit his face on a pole on the sidewalk.
- What are you, a vampire? You little menace.
- You didn't know what menace meant, but vampire sounded cool. You pretended to be a vampire from this moment on, trying to bite him.
- At some point he finally got you off his leg and carried you under his arm like a bag.
- Wha- THE FU--
- Yes, you bit his arm
- Dude was so confused that he didn't even call the police
- Instead he took you home so Yone can take care of you.
Yone:
- Was grocery shopping, rolling his cart and checking the list if he needed anything
- Suddenly there was you, running around with a mini shopping cart.
- Totally proud of yourself. You were acting like an adult and you liked it (Because rolling the cart is fun).
- At some point you got lost from your family and then you saw Yone.
- It's not everyday you see someone in a zebra (in your child words. It wasn't a zebra print) shirt print.
- Like the young and cultured child you were, you asked if he saw your parents.
- The mom of the group tried to find your parents.
- Failed.
- The police wasn't really much help either. No one reported you missing.
- They (Police) were trying to take you but you cried so much because you didn't want to be separated from the gentle giant.
- One thing led to another and the police have his number and they will call him if they have any information.
- Brought you a pair of clothes so you have a change of clothes for later.
- Everyone was surprised when Yone didn't return with groceries and instead with a child.
K'sante:
- Was walking out of the gym and through a park
- Instantly noticed that you were alone on the playground.
- Checks for anyone in the vicinity of the park.
- The nearest residential area was a long way from the park.
- Walks up to you, crouches and greets you.
- Another gentle giant. But more energetic.
- Your sibling left you here as a prank to scare you.
- Parents gone on a trip.
- Cue inner anger at your sibling.
- Takes you to an ice cream shop. Buys you your favorite. With extra whipped cream/fruit.
- Contemplates his next options.
- Decides to take you home since it was getting dark, left his number at the police station and let them know the situation.
- Let's Yone know. Yone buys you a few things.
- Shows you his big armadillo plushie.
- The rest doesn't know that you are there yet (minis Yone)
Aphelios:
- Yes, he was in a store.
- Yes, they sold plushies.
- Yes, he bought a plushie gun and he was buying ammo.
- It's all for a prank I swear.
- You were hiding under one of the tables.
- Initially didn't care for you. Was sure your parents were nearby.
- They were not.
- Walks with you hand in hand, slow peace isn't a problem for him
- Thinks how you follow after him with your steps is cute.
- Calls his sister for help. She is completely serious and comes to you guys.
- She falls instantly in love with how cute and precious, scoops you up in her arms and carries you around.
- Aphelios kinda regrets not picking you up sooner.
- They go to the police station and they do nothing.
- Time to let Yone know what was happening...
- Since you were cute and you made his sister happy, he was quite happy himself to join his sister to buy cute things for you.
Ezreal:
- Was buying himself boba in a mall.
- And a new phone charger.
- His last one got destroyed by a mistake by Aphelios' prank.
- Saw you in the cutest, silliest outfit.
- Dude loves cute things almost as much as Aphelios.
- But you were alone. Like sitting in the corner alone and looking at people.
- You noticed him.
- Big pant look cool.
- Cue you running up to him and asking all about his pants, not understanding why it had so many unnecessary accessories.
- He discovers you were left alone by your sibling (again).
- You've been in the mall since the early morning. It was almost evening now.
- Goes to the police. Police is useless.
- Carries you around on his shoulders. Your laugh is precious and so is your happiness.
- His (not biological) little sibling! His little angel!
- He swore to protect you until the end.
- Gave you his boba since you were thirsty.
- MMm boba balls. They pop. It's cool as frick.
Sett:
- Was totally practicing basketball
- Found you alone. No one around.
- You asked about his ears. Reminded you of a dog.
- You love dogs.
- So does he.
- Instant connection.
- Calls his Mama for help.
- She is far away now but tells him to get you something to drink and eat and then take you to the police.
- Does as told.
- Buys you something to drink.
- Buys you dino nuggets.
- You both love them.
- Hols your hand and walks with you.
- Gives up when his back eventually starts hurting from bending so much and walking so slowly.
- Police is useless.
- Comes home and notifies Yone so he can take care of it.
- Feeds you more dino nuggets and sugar, while Yone does all the work.

Aphelios x Reader - Dreaming of You. (Part 4)
Just noticed that my writing is GN lmao
Everyone should be able to enjoy Phel!
Tumblr media
You continued to stare at him, completely astonished by the situation and the view before your eyes. The moonlight was shining on his face, giving his eyes a glow that wasn't there before. He noticed that your gawking intensified, which induced a slightly bigger smile on his face before his expression changed as a coughing fit attacked his body.
It made you snap out of whatever you were thinking about him in this moment. Instead, you focused on his condition, touching his shoulder and coming closer, inspecting his coughing, worried expression on your face. "I think you should drink some water, Aphelios," and you lead him to the lake after that, holding his arm and crouching with him beside the lake.
He scooped up the water with his hands and brought them to his mouth, drinking the water as you rubbed small circles on his broad back, sill surprised from his sudden coughing fit.
Soon after drinking, his coughing calmed down and his breath became even, while you still massaged his back. "Are you better now?" you asked, hand still on his back. All you received back was a nod as you put your hands on your knees, lifting yourself up and stealing a quick glance in his direction as he stared at the water before him, the moon reflecting in the lake, with a few stars in between.
You reached your hand towards him, gesturing for him to take your hand. He did as you wanted and you pulled him up, before your hand was back at its original place, by your side.
"I've had a few questions to ask you and Alune, about how much you guys know about me, maybe tell more about myself if there is a need for that, but I doubt that will be necessary," you said, placing your hands behind your back as you traced back to the scarf that was hanging on the tree, checking if it's dry. Thanks to the thin and silky material, the article of clothing was dry, still as skiny and bright as before.
"Since you can speak, I can ask you that question... But if you can't speak much then I understand if it's better to wait for Alune to appear." You finished what you wanted to say, curious about his answer. As you turned around with the scarf in hand, you noticed a small green-blue bottle in his hand as he was uncorking it. Instantly knowing what it was, you tensed up a little, since it felt bizarre to see a person willingly drink a poison.
Before he drank the poison, you still felt the need to ask. Partially because you wanted to be sure and partially because you felt the need to act like a normal person, as to not arouse suspicion that you already knew what it was. Which would be weird if he knew, but maybe he'll know the truth one day. Or maybe he already knows. You'll see what Alune says later.
What matters is that you honestly didn't feel like seeing Aphelios in pain and suffering, like it was unnecessary. Couldn't he drink it when he needed his weapons? You guessed not, since he would be vulnerable at the beginning of a fight if he decided to drink the poison just when the enemy appeared. "Uh, what is this?" You gestured towards the bottle in his hands, coming closer to him.
"Noctum." He answered and shortly after, he drank the poison. The bottle fell to the ground as you ran up to him. He coughed again and panted, grabbing at his throat instinctively, trying to lessen the pain he felt in this moment.
His whole body felt like burning, his throat squeezing itself. It was hard to breathe. It was hard to see anything before his eyes. Vision was blurry. His balance was disturbed for a second, but you were there to hold him up, calling out to him.
You almost screamed in panic when he wobbled too hard to the right side, worried that he will hurt himself in the process.
"Let me hold you up, try to breathe, please Aphelios," you said, worry in your voice, as you tried to hold up his weight. He was looming over your form, his bodyweight partially on your person as you held him up, one hand on his waist and the other one on on arm as you looked at his face.
Shortly after, his legs regained some strength and as a result you had an easier job holding him up. The hand that was on his arm travelled towards his face as you looked into his eyes, checking on his condition.
A pale blush was present on his face, a drop of sweat ran down his temple and his eyes, surely enough, his eyes were half lidded and pensive, a dazed expression on his face. He continued to breathe heavily and tried to collect himself, eyes still unfocused, until he looked down at you, as you tried to talk to him to grab his attention.
Your brows were furrowed and stress and anxiety all over your face as you continued to check his condition, trying your best to make sure he was alright and waiting patiently until he regained his balance.
"Hey, hey, look at me, please Aphelios. Look into my eyes. Great, you are doing great. Keep looking. Now, breathe. Try breathing deeply and slowly, okay? Repeat after me."
With his eyes focused now on you, he repeated just as you instructed, breathing gradually becoming normal. Out of the corner of your eye you saw Alune.
Poor girl was above her brother and orbiting around him, a look of guilt and concern in her eyes while she continued to check his condition herself.
It was obvious why she felt guilty, after all, the only way they can be close is when Aphelios drinks the noctum poison. If there was anyone who knew of how much pain Aphelios was in, it was her.
"I am with you, Brother. I know the pain you feel, you are not alone. We are with you," Alune tried to reach for her brother, fingertips grazing his shoulder but going right through his body.
She took a breath and continued, "Remember our promise and feel the moonlight, Aphelios. Embrace the darkness and do not turn away from the pain. Embrace it."
As if under a spell, Aphelios calmed completely down as soon as he heard his sister's voice calling out to him. He lifted his weight off of your body, leaving your embrace, but still keeping his sight on you.
His touch lingered where he held your shoulders to rise up to his full height as you stared right back at him, a question escaping your throat, "Are you feeling better? It would be best if you sat down for the next few minutes." , looking at the ground shortly after.
You picked up the bottle along with the cork, noticing some leftover poison inside. You didn't hesitate to pour the last few drops onto the ground as well. Aphelios stood in place, almost unmoving, save for his hand over his eye as he stared at the ground, chest moving steadily as he was breathing, with Alune still levitating and orbiting around her brother.
Because of Aphelios, the scarf was long forgotten, lying on the ground. You picked it up, checking for any damage and concluding that it was still quite clean, only needing slight shaking off to remove the potential sand residue. Doing just that, you came back to where Aphelios was located, standing on your tippy toes as you put the scarf around him again. It made him snap out of his deep thoughts, while you only glanced at him quickly, finishing clothing him.
"Are you ready, Aphelios? If so, we can start walking again." You muttered to him, straightening out his scarf and the collar of his black shirt, before creating more distance between the two of you. He nodded as he walked past you and continued on ahead. Soon, you followed behind him, keeping up with his fast peace.
Silence fell between the two of you as you walked through the Forest. At the very least, the forest seemed to carry an almost sweet fragrance, similar to honey and pine. The trees remained unmoving while the leaves were dancing with the wind, creating a soft sound that graced your ears. Looking towards the sky, it was almost as if Mother Moon was looking down at you. Not being there for you. But instead, simply being with you in the darkness, illuminating the path ahead with ease.

Aphelios x Reader - Dreaming of You. (Part 3)
Tumblr media
Soon, the lake came into the view and Aphelios pointed towards it. He brought you closer to the body of water, directing towards your cut and then to the water with his gaze. You nodded by impulse, pretty sure that he wanted you to clean your own wound. Aphelios let go of your hand and you took the chance to crouch down, not expecting Aphelios to crouch with you.
He grabbed your hand again, still as careful as few seconds ago. Although the pain and the bleeding subsided, it still needed taking care of. Aphelios gently poured water over your wound as you focused on his hands, interested in what he was going to do next. His gloved hands gently washed your hand, but the sting of the water was much more bearable than what happened earlier in the cave.
You gazed up at him, observing him and trying to get a read on him, but it was pointless. His expression didn't change at all since yesterday. Nevertheless, you still felt the need to thank him, since it almost felt like he was taking care of you ever since yesterday, picking up on your needs or agreeing to a break when you voiced discomfort.
"Thank you, Aphelios, I really appreciate it. I don't know what happened to me earlier, but I'm happy you followed me," you spoke softly, almost whispering. You didn't want to disturb him while he was cleaning your hand.
His eyes moved from your hand to your face, a small hum and a nod was sent towards your direction, before looking back at your hand. In this moment, the silence following after his hum seemed so loud. Your ears were ringing as you looked at him, surprised to even hear a hum coming out of him. His hands suddenly felt so warm compared to yours, a cold thunder ran from your arms to the tips of your fingers as you changed your gaze to the scenery around.
From the corner of your eye, you saw that the fire was long extinguished, not even smoke coming out. The sun seemed to be higher than before. How long did you spend in the cave? You weren't so sure. Not like you had a clock on yourself. Did the air always feel so cold? You don't think so, it was warm and calm earlier.
He was already helping you so much, to a point where you felt almost guilty for causing trouble for him ever since he found you. Because of his cold exterior, you felt like he would be easily irritated. First, you made an assumption when picking the flowers in the beginning, when you were scared to ask to stay longer. Then, while traveling with him down the mountain, you didn't voice your discomfort with his speed and in the end, he picked up on the fact that you couldn't keep up with him and solved down himself. And now, you felt like you were causing trouble for him. You asked him for a break in the morning, asking to rest and sleep until evening, so you can travel again when it's dark and soon after he agreed, you basically drifted away from him after eating the fish and then you got hurt.
It made you feel weak. But more importantly, it made you feel indebted and guilty. Guilty for judging him and expecting him to be cold, while he was considerate. Indebted for picking up on the little things, for taking care of you and following you.
"You know... After eating, I saw a mist and followed it without a second thought. It was like it was pulling me in. Soon, I was feeling like I was in a trance. I couldn't speak. I couldn't scream. Even when I was in pain after touching that flower, or when the blade pierced my palm. It was hard to snap out of it," you continued, rambling more than anything at this point. By the time you were done with your last sentence, Aphelios removed his turquoise scarf, and securely wrapped it around your wound. The scarf was smooth and silky, almost watery. Insanely thin, too. To a point where it was almost translucent, with Lunari markings over it.
He stood up and reached out his hand to you and you took it, letting him pull you up. "I think we should rest, Aphelios. If we want to continue on our journey to Weh'le, it would be best to try to take a nap while we still can. I'm really thankful for you helping me," you sent him the faintest smile and gave his hand a slight squeeze to get your point across before letting go of his hand and turning your body in the direction if the now non-existent campfire. Making your way over to it, you sat down near one of the trees, so the shade can protect you while you take your nap. The crescent shuang yue was placed on your side.
The tree scratched your back and tried to grab onto the material of your clothes as you rested your back against it, your head soon following your back as you leaned your head against the bark. Although your hair was already slightly tangled in the bark of the tree, you didn't mind.
The grass under your fingers was surprisingly clean of any rubble and twigs, and only upon closing your eyes, did you open your mind to the smells that were surrounding you. Sweet scents entered your senses as the rustling of the wind lulled you to sleep.
When you woke up, it was evening already. The dusk was almost done darkening the twilight before you as you rubbed your eyes and stretched your back and legs, trying to ease the tension that formed on your shoulders while you slept. It seemed like your head was hurting slightly from resting it against the bark, but it's not like you could pull out a pillow from thin air, so you didn't think much of it.
At this point you stood up and stretched once again, this time something snapped in your back as you finally felt the tension leave your shoulders, a sigh has left your lips. Only then did you look around, looking for Aphelios. He was resting against another tree. If not for his pale skin and grey jacket, he would have blended perfectly into his surroundings. Your hand was hurting much less now, and the shuang yue was close to where you slept. Forgetting completely about the second blade, upon looking around you noticed it at Aphelios' side. Much calmer now, you picked up your blade first, deciding to take back the other blade later when Aphelios wakes up.
For now, you wanted to check on your hand. Untangling the silk scarf with ease, you checked how the cut was healing. It stopped bleeding and seemed to be closing up nicely and didn't look that deep, compared to how much blood you lost earlier. You glanced at Aphelios and then to the scarf. Aphelios probably wanted his scarf back as soon as possible, so you hurried over to the lake, trying your best to wash it and then hung it up on a nearby branch.
"Aphelios?" You said, trying to wake him up softly, as to not scare him by mistake. When you didn't receive an answer, you took a few steps towards him and repeated his name, but to no avail. In the end, you came closer and leaned over him, ready to touch his shoulder to shake him carefully awake. "Aphelios, wake up, we should get ready," you reached out and touched his shoulder, the soft material of his jacket tingled at your fingertips as you shook him awake.
His glimmering obsidian eyes opened and then closed, before repeating the action again. When he finally came partially to his senses, the first thing he saw was your face. He looked intensively, eyes half lidded, and head tilted. Soon, a small groan of discomfort escaped past his lips. Seems like he didn't sleep too well, either. Aphelios rubbed at the back of his neck and straightened himself. At that point you were simply standing in front of him, hand stretched out towards him to help him up. He grabbed your hand as you helped him raise himself and now, he was the one towering over you with his height.
"I've washed your scarf, thank you for letting me borrow it. It's clean now. Needs a little bit of drying, though," you mentioned, gesturing to the branch not too far away, where the scarf was located. His eyes traveled towards the piece of material on the branch before nodding back to you and looking into your eyes again. You tilted your head at that, a question leaving your lips, "Will Alune appear today?"
"Yes," his voice was strained and croaky. It was the first time you've heard his voice so clearly, which only shoved that the poison probably wore off completely by now. It was the first time you heard him say... Anything, actually. Both here and in lore.
Your reaction must have been funny to him, since he let out a puff of air through his nose, almost as if he chuckled at you and the corners of his mouth were slightly tilted upwards, his expression more alive than in the morning.

Aphelios x Reader - Dreaming of You. (Part 2)
(yes the silver eye color is a plot device you'll see)
(Thanks to a redditor I was able to collect more information on the noctum flower. Here is a link: https://www.reddit.com/r/loreofruneterra/s/Y7rq8uEhmG)
Tumblr media
Oh, well. You could probably ask Alune later. You doubt that Aphelios would speak to you, even if the noctum poison wore off.
Checking on the fish, you noticed that they were almost done. They were impaled on two sticks and the sticks were partially buried in the ground, so they didn't need to be constantly watched. As you crouched beside the fire, you enjoyed its warmth it provided. The flames were trying to lick at the fish, trying to burn them. But the attempts were futile, as the fish were too much out of reach of the flames. Soon, you deemed the fish done and you picked up the first stick.
Deciding to pass the food to Aphelios first, you walked up to him as he was resting with his eyes closed, still leaning against the tree, arms crossed over his chest and head tilted ever so slightly to the side. His black hair fell to his left, where he tilted his head. His hair was slightly longer on the left compared to his right side. With the hair temporary out of the way, the crescent drawing of the moon was fully visible. He was partially hidden from the sun, the tree casting a shadow over him, but not fully.
"You should eat, Aphelios, the fish is done."
He opened his eyes, two black orbs stared back into your silver ones. His gloved hand reached out towards the stick you were passing him and all he offered was a nod as a thank you, not that you minded. Then, you took your own fish and started eating it and enjoying the fire, the slow cracking of the wood had a calming effect. Soon, after eating, you threw a quick glance towards Aphelios and thanked him for caching the fish and starting the fire. It was a good thing you knew the lore, otherwise you were pretty sure you would have become offended and thought that he is mute or ignores you.
As you were getting ready to rest, you noticed something strange. It was almost like a soft current made out of pallid mist and it was showing you the way. You stood up and made a few steps in the direction, not noticing that Aphelios was keeping an eye on you as soon as he noticed you walking further and further away from the camp. The thinly veiled mist was gravitating towards the forest softly, almost as if showing you the way. You were deep in thought as you followed the mist and stumbled upon a cave.
The darkness seemed almost welcoming as you stepped deeper into the cave. Soon, soft trickling of the water could be heard coming from somewhere, but you didn't pay much attention. Touching the side of the rough and sharp wall, you gradually made your way downwards the cave, vision becoming darker with each step. With each step as the cave became darker, the mist seemed to become more visible and thicker, almost as if leading you to something greater than you would have ever imagined.
The trickling of the water became louder the closer you got to the source, which was located at the end of the cave. There were luminescent drawings on the wall, and you recognized the symbols to be drawn by a Lunari, there was no mistaking it. You brought your hand closer to the symbol of the moon and touched it, the hard surface of the wall so hard and sharp that you didn't notice it when it prickled your finger. As if in a trance, you ignored the pain and continued to touch the markings and tried to analyze them, not noticing your hand gathering more cuts the more you touched the wall. The pain was basically nonexistent at this point. Where you touched, blood could be found on the inscriptions, silver mixing with red.
When you touched the last engraving, a hidden path has appeared to your right. Although you didn't understand much of the situation or the signs on the wall, the mist was telling you to go inside. It sounded like the source of the noise of the water was coming from the hidden path. As you ventured deeper, you finally noticed two streams, one on each side of the wall. Cyan flowers grew under the water, their buds closed off, but still gave off a delicate light. However, there was no sweet smell in the air. Instead, the air was cold and refreshing.
At the end, the two streams connected and created a large pond, with more flowers pooling inside. What was the most interesting, however, was that on the flowerbed, in the water, lay two shuang yue blades, made out of moonstone and moonsilver.
You carefully reached into the water with your hurt hand, water mixing with the leftover blood. Then, completely by mistake, your open palm brushed against one of the flowers, the mucus from the flower touching you. Your mind was screaming in pain as you reached for one of the blades, tears running down your cheeks from the agony. As if controlled by a higher power, you couldn't make a sound. But that didn't stop your body from being honest. Your hand trembled so much that you accidentally cut yourself again, this time with the blade. At that point, your hand was hurting so much that it felt numb. With the other hand, you reached for the second blade, inspecting both blades next to each other, now out of the water. Tears clouded your vision as you blinked rapidly, clearing your vision as a result.
They looked exactly the same, they were twin blades. The engravings were the same as the ones on the wall in the cave and you didn't know what it all meant. But you stood up, your expression pained, with tears still gathering at the corners of your eyes. But you couldn't say anything, feeling dizzy as blood tenderly started to decorate the blade you were holding in your hurt hand. It piled together in one place before a blood drop was created, and then gingerly ran down the blade, before falling off and landing on the stone floor.
You breathed heavily as you tried to get everything under control, trying to calm down and reclaim control over your own body. But it was hard, almost impossible. Lifting up your gaze, you finally noticed Aphelios, observing your form not too far away. "A-aphelios? What are you doing here?" You tried to say his name, but your voice cracked at the beginning, the pain stil existent. The numbing was wearing off and it seemed like now was the begining of true suffering.
It took everything in your will not to scream at the pain you felt as you made your way towards Aphelios, your eyes looking into his. He looked at your face for a few seconds longer, his expression unreadable as he changed his focus to the blade in your hurt hand. Taking your hand, he glanced again at the wound, gaze focused as he took the blade out of your hand gently.
Then, he traced his thumb starting from your wrist and over the palm of your hand, making you instinctively open your palm. After you opened your palm, he properly grabbed the underside of your hand and spread your hand some more, getting a good look at the cuts you have created in your trance. You held your breath as you stared at his face but were snapped out of it when he grabbed your wrist instead, holding it firmly as he dragged you out of the cave.
No words came to your mind as you followed after him, observing his behavior. Although his hand was gloved, it still gave off warmth as he dragged you through the forest floor. It was eerily quiet, there were no animals and even the wind barely made any sound while gliding between the leaves of the trees.
Aphelios continued to look ahead as he walked, sometimes glancing at your form to make sure you were alright.

Aphelios x Reader - Dreaming of You. (Part 1 - intro)
In this fanfiction, you get drunk and one thing leads to another and it ends with you being teleported into Runeterra, Ionia. However, someone has already foreseen your arrival, and you will be an important piece of the puzzle they are trying to solve.
Tumblr media
It was an episode of some kind. You didn't know which one. All you knew was that when you woke up, you felt full of energy to do something reckless. You felt the sudden need to feel alive. And you didn't have an outlet for it. It was like your body just knew what it needed and what it craved. You tried to find other outlets for the next few days, jumping from hobby to hobby. Going as far as reading each and every lore of the league champions. Along with the extra pieces and short cinematics. But, in the end, your body craved alcohol. A lot of it.
In the end, you gave up on Friday and went to the shop to buy the cursed vodka. Along with some juice to help swallow the alcohol, since you were never a drinker, and there is no way that you will drink just vodka.
You put in the headphones and put on some music. It was surprising deep, although it wasn't what you usually listened to. But it did help to feel a little alive. Soon, you started to drink the alcohol, hoping for it to kick in soon enough.
Lying in bed, the thoughts started to drift, somewhere far away. Imagination was running wild as you were doing whatever you wanted in your mind, gradually putting yourself in different, more reckless and detailed fantasies. As soon as the alcohol started finally kicking in, after two or three drinks, your mind was surprisingly calm. It was like you were finally getting what you wanted. In the current moment, escaping the reality of the boring life felt like such a godsend. It was like the calm before the storm.
Gradually, your eyes began to close as you started to drift deeper and deeper into your fantasies. You wanted to have a purpose. To go on an adventure. To experience new things. To see things unimaginable in this world. You wished for new life.
Soon, your wish was granted as you fell into a deep slumber.
When you opened your eyes, you were found lying in a field, a cliff not too far away from you. The flowers were strange yet beautiful. They looked so delicate yet so eternal. Various colors, shades of purple and blue were the most dominant, it seemed. It was almost like you could taste the air you were breathing, it was sweet and smelled of the unknown, yet rich and crisp at the same time.
The sky was a mix of all kinds of colors. Beautiful, thick clouds were adoring the sky as dark colors mixed with light ones. Warm, friendly shades of yellow, orange and pink were intervening with shades of purple, maroon and blue. It gave a feeling of tranquility. The twilight was coming along with the stars, and with the stars, came the moon.
It was big. Shining with determination. Soft, mellow rays of the moon were soon hitting your face and your whole body. It was comforting, like you weren't alone. Although the darkness was gradually taking over the night sky and the earth itself, you didn't feel scared. The whole scenery left you feeling welcomed, rather. It was something you didn't see and experience before. It was like your wishes were being granted, step by step.
The flowers were now almost resembling the stars, in a way. They glowed. Not enough to cover everything with their light, but enough to see them, to notice them. You picked some of the flowers as you were looking around. They grazed the tips of your fingertips. Everything felt real.
It was almost like the moon was whispering sweet nothings into your ears. It told you to stay here, to wait patiently. And for some reason, as if controlled, you stayed in the flower field.
And soon, his form appeared. Tall, hair almost blending with the night. He was clad in layers of clothing, but the most prominent of his outfit was his big jacket. It reminded you of the moon, in a way. Not to mention the markings on his face. You knew very well who he was. It was Aphelios. You raised your brow in curiosity and tilted your head, deep in thought.
He looked dangerous. "The Weapon of the Faithful" seemed to be a good fit for him, after all. Considering his past, he won't say anything to you. Will he try to kill you? You doubt it. But now the whole surroundings made much more sense. You were probably in Ionia, Vlonqo, since it made sense for flowers to look like that, not to mention the cliff that was located not too far away. He was probably looking for Diana, the aspect of the Moon itself.
You stared at him; head still tilted. At this point you stood up, curious. The ever so serious assassin was staring at you, too, a few feet away. It would be good to make a good first impression, so you nodded towards him as a greeting, sill not caring to hide your curiosity. His handsome face was illuminated by the moonlight, his skin looked cold and his expression ever so serious and emotionless.
He was under the effects of the noctum flowers. Firstly, you could tell by his eyes, dark and hollowed out, without any spark. He looked like a marionette, like he was dissociated from everything and was running on autopilot. Second, his breathing, although controlled for the most part, sometimes came out uneven, like he was hyperventilating on the inside.
What gave it away the most, however, was Alune. She was towering over him in a protective way. Admittedly, looking more friendly than Aphelios at the moment. Soon, Alune drifted closer to him and said, "This is them, Brother, our Silver Beam."
Aphelios didn't say anything but came closer after hearing his sister confirm your identity. Soft, shallow breaths left his mouth as he came closer.
"What does it mean to be the 'Silver Beam'?", you said, looking straight at Alune, which seemed to surprise her. She collected herself rather quickly before she explained the meaning, "You are the missing piece of the puzzle, little moonlight. Your role is to show us the way to the aspect of the Moon. You shall show us the way like a beam of moonlight, little one."
You got your little adventure, like you wanted.
You nodded at Alune and Aphelios, before looking at the moon. Will it tell you something, give you a clue? Or were you supposed to depend on the knowledge of the lore? It was rather confusing.
You didn't wait long for the enlightenment. The words of the moon were carried to you through the whispers of the wind, flowing softly into your ears. It told you to go to Wel'he, to help Diana unite all the Lunari scattered around Runeterra.
A soft hum escaped your mouth as you thought about what to say next, but ultimately deciding on the task at hand. Questions can be asked later.
"Diana's mission is to unite all the Lunari scattered in Ionia. The faster we help her, the faster can the Aspect return to Mount Targon and finish the war between Lunari and Solari." You explained, eyes still glued to the moon before you. It was almost pulling you in. Bringing your senses to a whole new dimension. It was like you could feel the presence of the moon and the Lunari. But then you had to continue with your explanation, "We should start in Weh'le. If we have something to carry the flowers in, that would be useful. Weh'le tattoo artists will pay a pretty penny for Vlonqo flowers. The money will be useful on our journey."
You started picking the flowers carefully, trying your best not to hurt them as much as possible. The better state they were in, the more Silver Serpents would you receive, which would make your journey easier. Alune, the seer, agreed with you, encouraging Aphelios to pick the flowers with you.
Alune probably was quite happy, seeing as Aphelios was her eyes and ears and she loved to experience the wonders of the world. Although closed in Marus Omegnum, she still wished to experience wonders of the world, just like you. But she couldn't. All she could depend on was her brother for company, unless Yuumi visited her in the spirit realm. Other than that, Alune only had her books and her imagination, fantasizing about rain as she read her books.
Unsurprisingly, with how all of Aphelios' senses were numbed out because of the pain, it was no wonder that he was quite terrible at picking the flowers, no matter how slow and delicate he tried to be. Either he used too much force and crushed the petals by a complete mistake, or the stem of the flower would be squished and as a result the flower would have a hard time surviving for long enough. After all, the tattoo artists will want to identify that the flower is real, so the quality would be important.
Although you didn't mind him destroying the flowers by mistake, you though it would be better if he just rested for a while.
You didn't know how much they knew about you, but you knew a lot about them. Upon thinking it through, you decided to ask his sister for his and her name, pretending to be clueless. She gave the names in a heartbeat and asked for your name in return.
As soon as you got Aphelios' name, you told him to rest, as he and his sister traveled a lot to find you. In reality, you just didn't want him to kill flowers for no reason. But keeping his sister in mind, you told him to enjoy the flowers and the sightings for a while.
"You should enjoy the air and the scenery, Aphelios. I'll collect the flowers. I want you to rest." All that you got in return was a hollow stare, not that you minded. You knew what was up. Instead, you focused your attention on collecting the best-looking flowers and keeping in mind the variety of colors. Aphelios observed you quietly, not having much to do. He didn't even sit down. Instead, he was standing diligently. Looking at you as you picked the flowers, at the cliff or the moon, but mostly the moon.
Soon, you've held a big bouquet of the Vlonqo flowers, nodding and telling him that you were ready. He came up to you and took the bouquet, which almost made you go into panic mode as you didn't want your hard work to go to waste. What you didn't expect, was for the bouquet to disappear slowly from his hands.
"Whoa.. how is this possible?" You looked up at him and Alune, expecting an explanation from one of them (mostly Alune as Aphelios couldn't speak). Before Alune was able to explain her powers, you were already waving your hand where once Aphelios held the bouquet, not believing what you just saw. You knew his sister summoned weapons for him, and that she was storing weapons for him, basically. But she also had the option to carry other things for him? Was that why he didn't carry anything on himself other than his clothes?
As soon as your thoughts were running wild, Alune finally explained that she can, indeed, act as a storage. But then another though came to mind, and it was about the money. How much can she store? You shouldn't pick more flowers, since you were worried that Aphelios would be irritated, and you didn't feel like dealing with that at the moment. But the thought of money was nice. If you could, you would have picked more flowers.
"Oh, if I knew that you could store them somewhere, then I would have picked more flowers..." was all you could say, before pointing in the direction of the south and continuing, "We should start our journey to Weh'le. If I'll sense another Lunari, I'll let you know."
And so, the journey started. You slowly made your way down the steep mountain and contrary to your belief, there weren't many Lunari. As a matter of fact, other than Aphelios, there was no one. It took the whole night to go down the mountains. Although you weren't openly thanking Aphelios for slowing down when he noticed you had trouble following his tempo, you still felt quite grateful for his consideration. After all, it's quite obvious you didn't go through the training he did, and you lacked the experience. And his long legs.
At this point your legs were hurting, and the morning was slowly coming to greet you and Aphelios. Soon enough, you were able to locate a small lake which was placed at the feet of the mountain. "We have been traveling for the whole night. Can we rest and resume our travel during the evening? I don't think I'll be able to travel with the scorching sun glaring down at me." You asked, looking at Alune. She agreed and while you were collecting the firewood, Aphelios caught fish in the lake. Soon, a fire has been lit and you took the chance to wash your face in the lake and to drink the water.
As you kneeled down before the lake, you finally looked at your reflection. Your eyes have been turned to a pale, almost silver, color. Under your left eye, there was a waning crescent, while under your right eye there was a waxing crescent. Down your neck, there was a drawing that looked similar to the drawings on Aphelios' face. An upside-down crescent was drawn under your neck and jaw, while a line down was placed in the lower part of your neck and went straight down as far as you could see. Your own appearance surprised you.
You looked at Aphelios as he was cooking the fish under the fire. His back was pressed into the nearby tree and currently his eyes were closed. You didn't know how long Aphelios was looking for you, plus he was walking the whole night, so you understood the need to rest his eyes.
As much as you didn't want to disturb the poor guy, you had questions to ask and only Alune could answer them. "Hey, Aphelios, I wonder... Can Alune come out? I've got a few questions."
Aphelios opened his eyes and looked at you before moving his head to left and right, signaling that his sister can't come out currently. You had a suspicion that it was connected to the fact that the poison was gradually wearing off.
It got publicated for some reason wtf I'm not done yet I just took a nap and closed the phone wtf Tumblr

Okay so I'm obsessed with Aphelios and I love the new Heartsteel song and their band and stuff and I've come up with a few headcanons. It's my first time so let me know what you think! These ones are a bunch of rambling lol
Heartsteel! Aphelios headcanon/imagines:
- Aphelios gets easily embarrassed/flustered easily.
- He is sassy as fuck when needed. Doesn't take any bullshit. Especially when teased too much.
- Since he is mute and can't protest vocally, he will do anything and everything in his power to stop you when you are teasing and embarrassing him too much. Think like putting his hands over your mouth, throwing a pillow (or a plushie), pulling you in for a kiss, shutting you up with food etc. But he will never hit you! Unless it's something soft, like a pillow... Since he doesn't want to hurt you.
- What he wants, he gets. Like a true sassy prince(ss). He wants food? He drags you to the kitchen. He wants cuddles? Simply comes up and drags you to bed or sofa to cuddle.
- He enjoys his peace and quiet for the most part, but he loves spending quality time with you or with his friends. Depends on his social batteries
- Since he can't communicate verbally, he is usually sending messages on his phone. Or writes them on his notebook.
- Because he can't communicate verbally, basically his other personality traits are amplified. Sassy as mentioned earlier? Check. His reactions and panic when teased too much? Check. If he can't get his point across because he can't write, he won't hesitate to use force.
(Example) Hungry but doesn't have a way to say it but wants to go with you? Starts to tug on your hand and points in the direction. If you resist he will drag you.
- Can use sign language but rarely gets to use it since not many people use it.
- Loves cute stuff. Plushies, stickers, candy, clothes, you name it. But don't let others know!
- He tries to act cool in front of others. His way of showing that he is 'cool' is looking cold but acting completely normal and not using too much cute stuff. He simply tries to look like a badass but ends up looking like a sassy e-boy. Every. Time. Because he is a sassy e-boy.
- Give him a pokemon plushie and he will give you the world. Or another cute thing. Point still stands, though.
- Probably is into games when he is not hanging out with his crew, or when he is not working on a new song or playing guitar or another instrument.
- Probably games like Baldur's, Stardew, Pokemon. Usually cute games, but sometimes he also plays games like Skyrim or Killing floor.
- He is a professional OSU player. He plays with his mouse. Only his mouse. No tablet, no keyboard. A mouse. Like a true masochist.
- He would probably love to be dominated. Like, someone who can take care of his brattyness and sassyness. Needs someone to tame him, basically.
