12 is one of those backpack leash kiddos. However, he doesn't need it because he's a runner or a biter. He needs it as a sensory thing. It’s grounding to him.

We're onto New Doctor Who now, and we're starting with the Ninth doctor, because you can't skip nine! I've got this headcanon that nine is usually nonverbal when he’s regressed, and sticks to bright colours, which would seem uncharacteristic of him to anyone who didn’t know why. Time War was really loud, so he’s really quiet. Time War was fairly monotone, so he does everything very colourfully while minimising reds and oranges to contrast that period as much as possible
