What are some beca headcanons you have?

Assuming Beca Mitchell:

Half her tattoos mean nothing. Half have deep meanings. She’s reluctant to say which is which.

Related: girlie has trust issues. Even with the Bellas - hell, even with Chloe, she still didn’t want to reveal all of herself… because what if they said no? What if they saw her, in all her authenticity, and went ‘actually, no. We don’t like you now.’

Or worse - somehow - what if they did accept her. If she felt loved, and trusted them…. And then they turned around and stopped talking to her. Shut her out. Decided, after she’d taken that leap, to not be there anyway. She shuts everyone out, it’s easier that way - Beca once said something like that, to be pithy, half knowing it was a practised line… but it rings true.

She dated Jesse because he was sweet, and didn’t push much - all that he was pushing, for Beca to be more open, more confident, well, Beca appreciated it. She didn’t have to trust him much. He was low stakes. She felt a bit shitty for thinking that.

So she felt even more like shit once she realised, soon after the first movie, that she was so super gay.

(Jesse accepted it, of course. He’s a little sad - he really cares for Beca. And being part of her life would be wonderful. But… well, there’s worse relationships to have than ‘she cares about me, but can’t love me.’)

Sometimes, Beca will get in a spiral with work. Could be mixing, could be coursework, could be trying to track down a sample - anything. She’s not the best at focusing on one thing at once, until something like this happens. And then it’s 4am and she started at 7 and oh no.

Amy and Chloe are the best at making sure Beca is okay during this. Making sure she has a bottle of water, that she’s not staring at a screen too long. At first Beca finds it patronising, but she realises fast, no, it’s care.

Beca pretends not to love Kesha. She has a remix album she made herself of every Kesha song. The Bellas find this out one sambuca filled night.

One time, Amy declared Beca the bar girl of the night. “You can mix the drinks! You’re always mixing!” “Yeah - music!” “Ahh, whatever Becs, it’s all just sensations.”

Beca did it - why not. She discovered a knack for making deeply strong drinks that taste of nothing but fruit juice. They have a fun time.

Stacie is impressed, and sighs when Beca says she didn’t keep track of the recipes.

Chloe did; though. At the end of the first semester, she presents the Bellas with a blue and silver covered thin tome, entitled: “Barden Bellas Booze.” Including every impromptu cocktail/mixing of the dregs of drink leftover they’d made over the term, with mini reviews, scrapbooked photos, and little doodles - as well as Chloe’s thoughts and anecdotes on what happened after each drink, each party.

Beca is delighted. Touched. God, someone… paid attention. Cared. Fuck. So of course she plays it off with a joke. “Chloe, oh my god. You were blackout some of these - how did you remember?”

“It’s the Bellas! It’s you. It’s us. It’s important.”

Beca smiles at that. “Seriously though. Thank you. This is just… the most unique gift I’ve ever had.”

Beca likes live radio. She feels old for it, but. She likes the community sprit of it, knowing others are listening. Sure, she wants to be a producer, wants to make music millions love. But part of her still likes the idea of playing obscure dance, trance, house, for just a few thousand, hundred.

Or even just for the Bellas. It’s not always that - there’s a lot of Gaga, Miley, during those college years, a lot of Nicki (it is 2013/14/15), a lot of chart and pop and well, Beca would be lying if she said she didn’t love EM-O-TION. But when it hits? When half the campus is at a party, and she mixes from Kesha to N-Trance, and she couldn’t care less what others think; it’s 2am, she’s doing this for her, but she sees Amy and Stacie laugh, Cynthia Rose roll her eyes affectionately, and Chloe just beaming, “I love this song!” - that’s the highest high she has.

Eventually, Beca trusts them. The Bellas. Chloe. Maybe even one day herself.

Even if it doesn’t last forever, she figures…. Moments like that? Worth the inevitable ending.

She still wishes Stacie wouldn’t smack her butt when she’s walking back from a shower, though.

I mean it's all speculation but Anna Camp makes sense. I also thought it was the same Bella who Brittany cried to ("I just, you know, opened up her door and I just fell down to the ground and just cried and laid there") because she said it was somebody unexpected for her...and based on that I kind of thought it was AK. But now looking back, it could be two different people, so maybe both AC and AK?

I finally got around to watching the entire Brittany's Call Me Daddy interview and not just the clips. (yesterday was not my day) .And it was so emotional, moving, and even funny. Although, I will admit I was in tears for most of the podcast. Brittany is simply amazing. Having my own struggles with Mental health, her story has helped me so much over the years, and she continues to do so. The way she has handled everything that has happened to her over the past few years is simply amazing. Everything she says just seems so wise, but she is also able to show that she is a real person who has flaws and can be vulnerable. She really is my hero, and I recommend that everyone listen to or watch it.
