Chapter 9: Girl’s Night
Today’s the day. AndIam freaking out. This is the first time I’ve ever gone to a party that isn’t a birthday party. What doIdo? Do I bring a gift? Would that be weird? Why are these things so confusing? I have no idea what to wear, doIgo casual or fancy? Luckily that question was answered when I opened my closet and realised that I don't own any fancy clothes. Guess I’m going casual. The lights suddenly flickered in my room and I started to calm down a little. At least my quirk is good for telling when my emotions are getting out of hand.
I closed my eyes and grabbed a random outfit from the closet. I opened my eyes to find that I grabbed a teal sleeveless top. Yeah, fine, whatever, this’ll do I guess. Iris will probably think its hot or something. But that’s a low bar so I don't care. I got dressed and had some breakfast. Then my mom walked into the kitchen.
“Glad to see someone’s actually bright and early on the weekend.” She smiled.
“Just getting ready for the party.” I told her.
“What time is the party, anyway?” She asked.
My heart stopped. Yeeeeaaaah I thought I was forgetting something. Iris never actually told us what time to show up. Then like magic. My phone buzzed. I picked it up and saw a text.
Hey, this is Iris. Just letting ya know that the party's at 6. See you there.
My savior. I mean the heart could have been skipped, but still my savior.
“Six.”Itold mom.
“Okay. I’ll take you there when it’s time.” she said.
“Alright.” I finished breakfast and went back up into my room. I checked my clock, 7:30.
I can wait it out.Ican do this.
An hour passed before I realised that I could not wait it out. I had already watched like 20 leaf compilations. They were hilarious and I cherish them but they were failing me. I tried to find ways to pass the time.
TV? Nothing good was on.
Wetube? My feeds were filled with nothing but Pogan and Pake Jaul. So no.
Books? I’ve read them all and 90 percent of them are crap.
Readthis? Nothing but reposts.
FictionWriter.com? Oh...uh...nevermind then.
I had no idea what to do. I was so focused on finding something to pass the time that I accidentally passed the time.
“Sophia! It’s time, come downstairs.” My mother called.
“Coming!” I ran down and long jumped into the car.
“Calm down, girl. Are you this excited?” She asked me.
“No. It’s the adrenaline.” I said.
My mom smiled and we drove off. We were driving for about five minutes until mom asked me. “So, where are we going?”
Well that was another thing that I forgot. I whipped out my phone and texted Iris.
Where do you live?
1017 SE hummingbird Dr.
I showed mom and we sped off.
About ten minutes later we arrived. In front of us stood a mostly normal looking house with a little bit of rotten wood here and there.
“Well, have fun, sweety.” My mom unlocked the doors and I hopped out. I don't know why I was so excited to go to this party, maybe it was because I had never been to one like this before? I don't know. I was snapped right out of my thoughts when Iris suddenly appeared, grinning.
“Hi Soph! Glad you could make it! Oh, is that your mom? Hi, Mrs. Tess!”
“Hello, Iris.” My mom waved from the car. “Well, I must be off now. Have fun, you two” And just like that, she was off.
“Why don’t you come on in? Everyone else is already inside.” Iris told me.
We went inside to find Kil chasing around Taura.
“GET BACK HERE, YOU LITTLE GREMLIN!!” Kil shouted.
“I said I was sorry.”
“Like hell that was an apology. I heard the sarcasm!”
J.K., who was happily witnessing the tousle turned her attention towards us.
“Alright, we’re all here. Now this party can really get started.”
Iris was about to speak, when she was interrupted by a man in his thirties entering the room, followed by three other men. Iris looked surprised to see them.
“Hey kiddo! We’re heading out. Oh, are these your friends?”
“R-Ricky! I thought you guys already left.”
“Nope. Comic was slow, so we’re running late. Have fun with your friends, Honeysuckle! See you monday!”
“Y-Yeah….I will…”
The man, who I assume is Ricky, pats her on the head and hurries out the door with the other three. Iris walks over to the open doorway, waving at them, before shutting the door. She stood there for a while, dead silent.
J.K. snorted in the background. “Honeysuckle.”
“Who were they?” I asked.
A deep sigh was emitted, before she turned to all of us. “Those…were my caretakers. I don’t live with my parents. Not anymore at least.”
“You said you lived with your parents.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry. I lied because I thought you would all judge me for not living with my parents.”
We all looked at each other, quiet for a moment.
“We don’t care.” Taura said.
“What?” Iris looked at her.
“Dude, you’ve known me and Kil for at least a year; We do not judge. And Sophia’s wears her acceptance on her sleeve. And J.K. … I don’t actually know what to make of you.”
“I don’t care.” J.K. shook her head.
“Wow… that wasn’t the reaction I was expecting. Thanks.” Iris did a quick bow.
The doorbell rang, and she groaned.
“Guys, I thought I told you that the keys are in the junk drawer.” She explained as she opened the door. But it wasn’t them, instead a hooded figure covered in a cloak loomed in the doorway. Iris was taken aback.
“C-c-can I help you?” She asked.
The figure stared at her for an uncomfortable amount of time. Their eyes gleamed from behind their mask.
“I am here for the party.” A faint, feminine voice was emitted from the mask.
It was this line that made Taura walk to see who it was. When she saw them her eyes lit up.
“Thera! Finally, you’re here.” She turned towards the rest of us. “Everyone, this is Thera. She’s the upperclassmen I told you I was inviting.”
Thera raised a hand in a hello, nodding a greeting. It was very easy to notice her arm was covered in ash white fur, and her hands were covered in short black fur. She pushed back the cloak, revealing that behind the mask was a cascading mane of fluffy looking fur. She was wearing a dark purple sleeveless shirt and dark grey cargo pants, and it looked like she was covered from head to toe in ashen white fur. If she had toes. Looking down, she had large hooves instead of feet.
“Now the party can start.” Taura exclaimed, gesturing for Thera to join them as she walked back to the others.

Chapter 8: The New Kids
So far this week has been a rollercoaster. The first day, while short, was action packed and exciting. But yesterday was pretty uneventful except for that sodium explosion. To be honest, I’m not sure which one I prefered. On the one hand fun, on the other, peace. Fun, peace, fun, peace. AAHH! This school makes my head hurt. I came back into reality with someone tapping me on the shoulder, it was Max.
“Hey, newbie. You made my phone go haywire.” He tossed his phone into my lap. “Fix it.” He said.
I looked at his phone and sure enough, it wouldn’t turn on. I tried to strengthen my quirk a little, making the lights in the room flicker, but his phone still wouldn’t activate. I closed my eyes and tried to think of something that would make my emotions stronger so my quirk could get stronger but I couldn’t.
Max tisked “Useless.” And at that moment I really was, my quirk had just ruined a perfectly good phone and I couldn’t even bring it back. But then I opened my eyes and the phone was back on, apparently my sudden wave of sadness was strong enough to kickstart the phone.
I wiped away the tears that were welling up in my eyes and handed the phone back to Max. He took it and went back to his desk.
“I guess you aren’t so useless.” He said as he walked away.
… Did Max just compliment me?
“I think Max just complimented you.” Taura hopped on top of my desk.
“That’s what I was just thinking.” I told her.
“Cool. Anyway, I need you to help me with something.”
“What?”
“I heard that we’d be getting some new students today so I want to prank them, I need your help.”
There was a loud Roar outside of the building,
“And there’s the idiot.” Max glared out the window. I looked out to see Dy… with no pants on. I turned around and Max was stuffing a brick into a pair of sweatpants, then he opened a portal and threw the pants through.
I heard a loud “OW!” From outside and when I looked out the window Dy was rubbing his head after getting hit in the head with brick stuffed pants.
Max shouted out the window “put some pants on!”
“Never!” Dy Shouted back, then he ran around the Courtyard with his hands in the air. Max opened another portal and shoved his fist through it. He caught Dy by the tail and dragged him into the classroom, as best as he could but Dy was very heavy, but he managed to get him through and shoved him into the storage closet at the back of the room.
“Don’t come out until you’re ready to put some pants on.”
“So anywaaaayyyy.” I directed my attention back to Taura.
She was sitting on my desk, legs crossed and feet propped up on the seat, and her hands clasped together, leaning back with a smirk on her face. It was like I was looking at a Gang leader.
“Well, you see…” we were interrupted again by a loud metal screeching sound in the hallway.
We poked our head through the doorway, only to see Curt fighting some student down the hall whose body looked like it was made of metal, Curt let out a battle cry and made an armor around his body, with two bone blades jutting out from his wrist’s. The other student bumped his fist’s together and charged at Curt. They were about to hit each other but then Mr. Koro walked between them after walking out from the other hallway. Mr. Koro had this look in his eyes like as if he was the grim reaper. He looked at the two sternly and said,
“Two hour detention for the both of you, after school today. You both should know not to fight, you’re both future heroes” They both stopped and stood up straight.
“Yes sir.” they both replied and walked back to class. I asked Taura who Curtis was fighting but all he did was shrug his shoulders and say,
“Don’t know, don’t care.”
“Really?”
“Yep, all I know is that they try to kill each other whenever they lock eyes.”
“Wow.” I thought to myself. Strange.
Curt walked into class, sat down, and hit his head on the desk so hard that he put a crack in it.
Soon after Mr. Koro entered the room looking as though the fisticuff in the hallway never happened.
“Alright Roll-call.” He announced.
“Maxwell.”
“Here.”
“Iris.”
“Wazaaaaap.”
“Curtis.”
He hit his head on the desk again making another crack.
“I’ll take that as a ‘Present’.” Mr. Koro said to himself.
“Killena.”
As if on cue, she came crashing through the windowed wall, which had been rebuilt over night, and flew into the wall. She rolled to her feet and leapt into her seat in one swift motion.
“I’m not late!” She declared.
“Barry.”
He raised his hand quickly. “My name is-”
“Sophia.”
“Present.” I called.
“And Dynus.” There was no response
“Dynus?” Mr. Koro called again.
Still no answer.
“I swear I saw him in the courtyard today.” said Mr. Koro.
Suddenly Dy burst out of the cabinet with torn up sweatpants all over his face, he pounced at Max with a look in his eye, like he was ready to kill. Max opened a portal in front of him and made him slam into the wall on the other side of the room, apparently he was going so fast his head managed to break through the wall and get stuck. He pulled himself out with with no effort and went back to his seat.
“Ah, there he is.” said Mr. Koro
“And finally, Taura”
“Ninja.” Taura turned off the phone that had been on her desk. Was she messaging someone.
So far this day has been weird, but not as weird as I think it could be. I was just waiting for something to happen. And sure enough...
“Before we get started with our day, I’m glad to announce that we’ll be having two new students today.” Mr. Koro clapped his tentacles.
Oh yeeeeeaaaaah. Taura had mentioned something about this. It had slipped my mind, thanks to all of the random crap that happened all at once. I wonder who we’re getting.
“These are both transfer students from Blue Springs. Please play nice.” Mr. Koro waved his hand to someone outside. In walked two people, a hot black girl and a pasty white guy to rival Max’s pale skin.
“These are J.K. and Alexander.” Mr. Koro introduced them. Alexander smiled and waved while J.K. began scanning the room, then her eyes landed on Dy.
“You!” She pointed at him. Dy glanced at her and did a double take. He then pointed at her with a angry expression.
“YOU!!” He shouted as he flipped his table over. They began to stalk towards each other. Soon they were right in each other’s faces, even though she was 5’5 and due to his quirk his size was about 6’7. It looked like there was going to be a brawl. Then Dy hugged her, lifting her off the ground and she hugged back. On a dime, their expressions went from serious to cheerful.
“It’s been awhile, Dynus.” J.K. smiled.
“Yeah, you too.”
“Have you made any new friends?”
“Yeah, this is Max. He andIare best friends, right max?” Dy pointed at Max
“Not your friend.” Max said.
“The best.”
J.K. laughed and took the seat in front of Dy, and Alexander sat behind me.
Mr. Koro clapped his tentacles and everyone quieted down.
“Now that everyone’s been introduced, I must be on my way. Have fun in first period.” Mr. Koro waved his tentacles and left the room. We all were silent for a bit but then J.K. walked up to me.
“Hi.” She grabbed a seat and sat down in front of me.
“Hello.” I smiled at her.
There was a long awkward silence between us.
“S-so, you know Dy?” I asked her.
“Yep, we went to the same middle school but he moved away when highschool rolled around.” She explained.
“Oh, cool.” and another awkward pause appeared in our conversation.
“I’m really thirsty, is there a vending machine near here?” She asked me.
“Yeah, there’s one right around th-” She cut me off; by grabbing my face and kissing me!
“Could you buy me a drink?” she asked.
I wanted to say no but for some reason I was compelled to do so. I stood up, and walked out of the class. When I returned I walked over to her and gave her the drink. She smiled.
“Thanks.”
Suddenly I felt like I had control of my actions again. I blushed and sat back down.
“What did you do to me?” I shouted at her.
She just laughed, “Relax, I just used my quirk on you.”
“Your quirk? What, the kiss?”
“She can kiss you and than command you to do whatever she wants.” Dy said.
“How do you know that?” I asked, he ignored me though.
“Yeah, once I kiss someone they follow any command for a certain amount of time.” She explained, “Speaking of which.” She stood up and scanned the room again, then she began to walk towards Taura who was precariously stacking some kunai, dang that looks difficult.
Taura glanced at J.K out of the corner of her eye as she approached, looking a little wary. She looked away, opting instead to carefully placed another kunai on the stack.
“What do you want?” Taura asked, her voice pleasant enough, though she was still mostly focusing on the tower.
“Nothing.” J.K. answered. “ Just wanted to talk.”
“Suuure.”
“Really, just to talk.”
“I saw what happened to Sophia. I’m not blind.” She moved to place another Kunai on the stack.
“Just because I did that to her doesn’t mean it’ll happen to you. It was just for fun.” J.K said nonchalantly.
“Hmm.” Taura started to place another kunai on the stack, when J.K slammed her hand on the desk, making Taura jump.
The tower promptly fell over, the sharp kunai scattering.
Taura turned towards J.K, “What the heck-” She broke off as J.K grabbed the sides of her face and pulled her towards her.
The next few moments happened quickly. Taura managed to raise her foot and kick away from J.K, falling off her chair and onto the ground, while J.K stumbled back a bit. Taura’s face was red, her eyes wide with surprise.
J.K, instead of seeming angry, smiled, seeming, instead, more interested. “Well, wasn’t expecting that.”
Taura pulled her scarf up over her lower face. “You said you wouldn’t kiss me!”
“I said that just because I did it to someone else didn’t mean I would do it to you. It was a 50-50 chance.” J.K shrugged. “Now I’m more tempted to try.” She added with a grin. The redness of Taura’s face intensified, and she scrambled back to her feet as J.K approached again.
“Nope!” Taura yelled, making a dash for it, vaulting over a desk, and out the classroom door.
“Damnit!” J.K cursed, looking around.
Her gaze landed on Barry, who was sitting at his desk, and she walked over to him.
He looked up at her, seeming puzzled. “I need a favor.” She said simply, and kissed him quickly.
“Go get that girl that just ran out of here.” She pointed towards the door.
Barry nodded, standing up. He gave a salute, and went to run, but instead fell face first on the floor.
“WhAT THE HEckie Did YOu DO!” Yelled someone, I turned around and saw that it was Iris.
The dirty blonde ran over to check on Barry, while glaring at JK.
“I need a favor.” J.K said again, and as Iris was about to say something again, J.k leaned in and gave her a kiss.
Iris blinked, before turning a bright red.
“Ok, I need you to-”
J.K was instead cut off by Iris, who, upon being kissed, suddenly screamed.
J.K. backed up and yelled at Iris, “Stop screaming!” But Iris didn’t.
“How do I make her stop!?” J.K yelled.
“I got this!” Dy yelled as he ran up and punched Iris into a wall, knocking her out.
“There is that better?”
“Much.” J.K agreed.
“Why are you trying to get people to chase down Taura?” Max spoke up, after having remained silent throughout the little turmoil. “She’s long gone at this point. No one’s been able to catch her. Except maybe me.”
“As funny as that was, time to stop this.” Dy said.
“Oh really and how are you go-” J.K. was gonna say something until Dy kissed her, which caused her to fall down unconscious.
“Wait, how?!” I asked surprised.
“She can control people with her kisses, but only if she starts it, if the other one starts it, she’ll either fall unconscious or not be able to control them, or usually both.”
“Ok how do you know that?” I asked. He didn’t respond he just picked J.K. up and put her in her seat and then sat down.
“What is all of this noise you delinquents!?” Mr. Festus walked into the room, furious, with Taura being pulled behind by her scarf.
“Alas, I was foiled by my own clothing!” Taura sighed dramatically.
“Everyone, in your seats. Let me teach you knowledge. And someone get that girl out of the wall” Mr. Festus dragged Taura to her desk and returned to the front. And Dy yanked Iris out of the wall.
I didn’t think this day could get weirder than the first but I was wrong. In a matter of ten minutes this day went from zero to a hundred.
After that the day calmed down a bit. Which I am very glad for.
We did some random stuff in English I wasn’t really paying attention. Mr. Hai put a block of Cesium in water and we all ducked for cover except for Alexander who just sat there as shards of glass flew past him. We did stuff in Algebra, Mr. Hardt had us do pushups and situps the whole time, With Killena showing off by balancing on one hand and doing push-ups that way. History we learned some stuff about the Renaissance, and Mr. Koro helped us learn the history of heroes.
We learned about All-Might, the number one hero in Japan and the world. Apparently he was in America for a while and all of his attacks are named after the states.
“Did y’all hear about the one kid in Japan who punched a 50 foot monster? It was crazy man! All over the news!” Iris exclaimed.
“I thought that was a training robot in the entrance exams.” Max pointed out.
“Well, maybe. But that doesn’t stop it from being awesome. And apparently his arm was hella busted afterwards.”
Killena walked over to Iris and I.
“If it isn’t my favorite dragon person.” Iris smiled.
“No perving.” She glared at Iris for a second and then went back to her cheery self.
“I just realized something.” She leaned up against the desk, crossing her giant taloned feet.
“What?”
“We’ve got new students, should we invite them to our party thing?”
“Uuuuuuuuh, I’d rather not.” I decided. “J.K. seems like she’ll turn the whole party into a ‘let’s kiss this one person as they run for their life’ kind of thing.”
“I don’t see why they can’t come. Besides, my party.” Iris declared. “Besides, if they do come, that won’t happen...I think.”
“You just want to be kissed by J.K. again.” I accused.
She blushed and looked away. “What? Nooo, nononono. No. Believe me that’s not it. I like being the perv, not others perving on me.”
I thought about it and it made some sense at least.
“Alright. ButIneed Kil and Taura to protect me.”Isaid.
Kil nodded “I got ya, Sophy.” She raised a hand, flexing her fingers, which suddenly shifted to large bone-colored metal claws. Blue electricity crackled between them.
“I’ll also protect ya. Without my goggles. ‘Cause the boys will get mad if I put another hole in the wall.” Iris paused. “....DidIsay boys? I meant mom and dad.”
I stared at her for a long time, I even tried to imitate Max’s death stare but she didn’t budge. “Okay, I believe you. But if you lie and don't protect me I’ll have trust issues for the rest of my life.”
“Cool.”
We went over to J.K.’s desk and asked her to the party, she happily accepted. While that was all going on I turned around to see Taura’s face red as a tomato. “Traitors.” She grumbled.
“No worries Taura. I won’t let her uh...kiss you or anything.” Iris said.
“Thanks for the confidence. Though, would you mind if I invited another friend? She’s an upperclassman, a third year.” Taura wondered.
“Sure, the more the merrier.” Iris shrugged, thinking nothing of it.
“I couldn’t care less.” Said Dy who was sitting next to J.K., unlike yesterday where he was rowdy and wild, he seems calmer since she was near him. Still wild, but calmer.
“Also, Max. For the guy’s night can we go to your house because I’d rather not be at my house. It’s all beaten up and stuff but your house is probably squeaky clean and ready to be pulverized.”
“Absolutely not.” Max looked up from his phone, “Like you said, my house is clean. I will not let it be tainted by your foul scents.”
“We could go to my house.” A voice spoke up from behind me. We all looked at the owner of the voice and it was Curt.
“If you let me in the guys night we could hangout at my house.” He smiled confidently.
Dy looked around. “Krieg, can we go to your place?”
“No, same reason as Max.”
“Barry?”
“Barry Allen.”
“He said no.” Iris translated.
“Pasty white guy that’s not Max?” We all looked at Alexander. He didn’t seem to hear us. Dy picked up a pencil off of J.K.’s desk with her  and threw it at him. It just barely missed him, flying past his nose. He turned around to look at us.
“Were you talking to me?”
“Yes, we’re having a guy’s night with everyone but Curt. Can we hang at your place?” Dy explained.
“I’m sorry, but I don't feel comfortable hanging out with people I just met.” He gave us an apologetic expression.
“Well if you come then we won’t be strangers anymore.” Dy said. “So what do you say?”
Alexander was silent for a bit, he was giving a serious look of contemplation. Then he looked straight at Dy.
“I’d be happy to attend this gathering. Although I’m afraid that it can’t be at my house. I doubt my parents would approve.”
“Dang it.” Dy slouched back, almost running into J.K. as he went to pick up the pencil and give it back to her.
Curt looked at Dy and gave him a devilish smile.
“So, it looks like you’re out of options. I guess you’ll have to let me in so you have a place to hold the party.”
“FIIIIINE you can join, Jesus Christ!” Dy said defeated.
Curt did a small fist pump.
The bell rang and we all went to leave. Kil flew off, Dy transformed and lumbered away with J.K. riding on his shoulder, cause I heard she lives close and they’re practically best friends, Barry ran, Krieg was picked up in his bugatti, Max waited for his sister and drove off, and Taura ninja’d her way home. Alex just took the bus, what a normie.
And Iris...she just stood around, waiting for something. But what? What was she waiting for? My curiosity was peaked. Normally I wouldn’t talk to her unless there’s someone else around. But she didn’t call anyone, and if she lived nearby then she would have walked off by now.
“So, you waiting on someone?” I asked her.
“Yeah, I normally have one of the gan- I mean one of my family friends pick me up. They come around at 4.” She explained. That was really specific.
“Okay.” I saw my parents pull in. I walked out and got in, and apparently they saw me talking to her.
“She a friend?” My Dad asked. I nodded.
“Does she need a ride home?” My Mom asked. I shook my head. “You sure?” I nodded my head. But that didn’t convince her. She rolled down the window and stuck her head out.
“Hey, do you need a ride home?” She called at her.
Iris paused, almost startled. “Uh...no thanks.”
“Okay, have a good day.”
“You too, see you at the party, Sophy.” She waved.
Dang it. At that line my parents turned around and looked at me.
“A party, huh?” My Dad said.
“Yeah, a bunch of my classmates are holding a party. And I said I would go.” I told them.
Dad turned off the car and turned all the way around. “Are there any boys?”
“No, it’s just a girl’s party. But the guys in my class are holding their own party the same night.” WHY DID I TELL HIM THAT!?
“Is that so? Do these parties take place near each other?”
“NO! They’re across town from each other.” I blurted out. I actually have no idea if that’s true but anything to have them not freak out.
My parents were silent. They looked at each other, and then at me.
“How badly do you want to go?” My Mom asked me.
“Really badly.” I told her.
They looked at each other again and sighed.
“Okay, you can go.” My Dad told me.
“Thank you.” I can’t believe that worked!
They started the car again and we drove off, with Iris still at the entrance.

Chapter 7: The Second Day
The second day of school was here, and it was just as chaotic. Outside the school Dy transformed again. I found Iris peeping on other people, not just me. And Max was just as soul shivering. I made it to class to find almost everyone else there, minus Kil. Barry was talking to Curt, who looked like he was internally screaming out of confusion, Taura was sleeping on her desk, and Krieg was just sitting there on his phone. The bell rang and everyone, minus Kil, was sitting in their desk. Max began the countdown again and everyone moved away except for Max and Dy. Kil crashed through the window, kicked Dy, flew through Max’s safety portals, and went straight through the wall. And then Mr. Koro appeared.
“Alright, alright. Please cease with your horseplay. And Killena, please stop destroying the school.”
“NEVER!!! I will not conform to the shackles of an interdependent society!” She shouted as she ran back to her desk.
“Anyway,” Mr. Koro turned towards the rest of us. “Today, as you all know, is your first full day of school.”
“Boooo.” groaned Iris.
“Don’t get cross with me, young lady.” he shook his tentacle at her. Iris sat back down.
“As I was saying, this is your first full day of school. And this means I will not be with you the whole day, you will have me for you last period but every other class is a different teacher. I hope you enjoy their company. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must be off to my first class.” and just like that, he left. Taura sat upright at her desk and began to mess with something that looked like a rope.
“I heard that if the teacher isn’t here in the next fifteen minutes, then we can all leave.” Dy said.
“Yesssss!” Iris cheered.
“Don’t get your hopes up, kids.” a voice came from the doorway and in strode a man with long, greasy black hair with a black goatee, and a full suit and tie.
“Nooooo!” Iris slunk back in her seat.
“Such enthusiasm. My name is Mr. Festus, and I’ll be your english teacher for this year. Before we start, do we have any questions?”
Iris raised her hand.
“Yes?”
“Why do we have english class if we already can speak english?”
“Because I’ve seen many english-speaking people on the internet who don't understand proper speech.”
“Wow. Calling me out like this.” Iris huffed.
“Any more questions?”
“Can I punch you?” Kil raised her hand.
“Absolutely not.”
“Wanna bet?”
Mr. Festus was quiet for a few seconds. “Tell you what, if any of you can lay even a finger on me, you can leave for the rest of the hour.”
Iris started to get up.
“Bring it, Mr. Fetus.” Kil rose up from her seat and prepared to transform.
“No, Kil, not in the classroom.” Taura leaped away.
Mr. festus held up his hand and then flipped off Kil. She let out an angry yell and started to transform, but nothing happened.
“What the heck?” She tried again but nothing happened.
“Next time, before you try to attack someone you should probably do more research. Clearly none of you know who I am.” Mr. Festus put his hand down and straightened his tie.
Then a hand appeared behind Mr. Festus and tapped him on the shoulder. Max stood up and walked out of the classroom.
“Practice what you preach.” He said behind him.
“Yeah, you might want to do some research of your own.” Chirped a voice behind Mr. Festus.
A rope that dropped from the ceiling behind Mr. Festus where a panel had been opened, hanging, upside down no less, was Taura. She had a Kunai in her hand and could have easily had an opening to stab Festus. Instead she poked him in the back of the shoulder. “You would know that not all of us rely on quirks.”
“When the hell did you do that?” Kil wondered.
“Ninja.” Was Taura’s only response. “I’m out. I’ll be in the vents.” She flipped rightside up and climbed up the rope, disappearing into the ceiling. The rope disappeared after her and the panel was moved back into place.
“Anyone else?” Mr. Festus asked.
Kil and Dy charged him and leapt up in the air. Mr. festus stepped to the side and had them crash into each other, he then twisted their arms behind their backs and held them down.
“Hah! You think you’re strong enough to stop us?” Dy attempted to get up but he couldn’t “Because if so, you are correct, what the heck?”
“Go to your seats so we can start class.” He said. I never thought I would meet someone who could over power those two but today showed me.
Nothing interesting happened after that, we learned about discussion questions and other boring stuff like that, halfway through Max returned with a mountain of snacks in his hands.
And then class was over, and passing period began. Mr. Festus said bye and left.
“See ya, Mr. Fetus.” Killena waved. “I hate you.”
“It’s Festus.” his voice echoed the halls.
“Well he was… interesting.” I said.
“He was boring as hell.” Iris complained.
“I quite like english, actually.” Max said from the back next to his mountain of snacks.
“Hey man. You better share.” Iris said, glancing over her shoulder.
“I’ll share these once Dynus becomes a physician without killing anyone.”
Dy laughed in the background. “That’s impossible.”
“Exactly.”
“Barry, what do you think? Should he share?” Iris turned towards Barry.
Barry slowly turned around in his chair, making creaking sounds until he faced all of us. “My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive.” he said and then he slowly turned back around.
“My thoughts exactly!” Iris smugly grinned.
“I didn’t understand a word he said.”
“Oh! See, the reason I know is because I took the time to learn what he’s really saying...if that makes sense.”
“Ooohh” Max acted surprised, “Yeah, I don't really care whatsoever.”
Iris just glared, but stayed quiet.
Taura showed up a little later, yawning as she entered the room. Her vest and shift were dusted in something looking suspiciously like ash or dust.
“I nearly ended up in the furnace, but the vents are a pretty nice way to travel.” She stretched her arms over her head. She walked by Max, and snatched a bag of cookies, and proceeded to open and start eating.
“Oh… oh! I nearly forgot. My uh, family will be out of town this weekend. So I was thinking… maybe us females could hang out?” Iris asked.
Killena shrugged. “I don’t trust you in the least, pervert, but I know I can pummel you, so sure, why not?”
“I promise I won’t perv this time! Please don’t beat me up…”
“I guess.” I shrugged. “As long as Kil and Taura are there to protect me from your pervy ways.”
“Alright. Also, there’s only one rule. No boys allowed!”
“Why not?” Curt asked.
Everyone just looked at him with that “You know why” look. He looked at his feet and sat back down.
“It’s settled then!” Iris pumped her fist.
Dy slammed on his desk, “Well if you’re going to have a girls night then I’m having a boys night. Everyone at my house, no girls allowed!!!”
“Ok. Well you boys have fun with that, I guess.” Iris said
“When will we have the party?” Curt asked.
“Eeehhh, not you, Curt.” He said
“Wha-Why not?”
“Just, not you.” Dy answered. “You don’t count as a guy. Also can we go to someone else’s house.”
“Please, I’m the manliest man here.” He bragged. Dy put his arm on the desk
“Arm wrestle me, then.”
Curt took Dy’s hand and was immediately thrown into the wall.
The Bell rang and we all returned to our seats.
“Okay, students. Please be seated.” A chinese man walked into the classroom, “Oh, you’re already seated. Good, that means we can start class right away.” He pulled out a suitcase and opened it up. He fished around in it and pulled out some test tubes and a flask.
“Hello, my name is Mr. Hai, and I’ll be your chemistry teacher for this year. This is my first year of teaching, so please play nice.” I heard a chuckle from behind me I turned around and saw that Kil and Taura were passing notes through Max’s portals.
“You two in the back, please stop that. It’s distracting.” Mr. Hai said.
“Make me.” Challenged Kil.
Mr. Hai sighed and pulled out a metallic ball from his pocket and threw it at Kil. While it was flying towards her it caught on fire. She caught it but immediately dropped it.
“Yow! That’s hot” She growled. Kil picked the ball up again and winced, she then threw it at Mr. Hai. The ball hit him in the forehead but it only klanged off. Mr. Hai was unfazed. Kil, meanwhile, the skin on her hands was red and a little blistered, and a patch of scales on her palms had cracked.
“Like I said, please stop doing that.” Mr. Hai continued to set up a little lab station on the front desk. “We’re wasting time that you could be using to learn.”
Kil muttered something under her breath and sat back down, clearly her quick skirmish with Mr. Festus had taught her not to mess with anymore of the teachers.
“Are we done?” Mr. Hai smiled.
“One question.” Kil said. “How did you do that, making the ball catch fire?”
“Well, my quirk is the ability to affect matter at the molecular level. So I made the ball’s atoms, which was Osmium by the way, vibrate at an extremely high speed which heated the ball.” Mr. Hai explained
“That’s some powerful Schist man.” Iris said from the back.
“Now that everyone’s questions have been answered, we can begin with the class. I hope you’re ready for an explosion, because we’re putting sodium in water.” Mr. Hai pulled out a capsule of some silvery substance and a glass jar full of water.
The rest of the class was pretty fun, like he had promised there was an explosion that blew up the jar and broke one of the lights. Overall he was a lot nicer than Mr. Festus, and less annoying.
The other classes went by pretty quickly after that. By the end of the day our schedule went as follows: English(Mr. Festus), Chemistry(Mr. Hai), Algebra(Mrs. Bellum), History(Mrs. Dublin), Lunch, Gym(Mr. Hardt), and a double block that’s our Hero training with Mr. Koro. At the end of the day I felt like I learned nothing new. We all headed towards the front of the school, there we split ways.
Max waved at us and walked out to the parking lot, shortly after a small Hawaiian girl yelled “Beep! Beep! Sorry!” and pushed past us, running towards Max.
As she was doing so she shouted “HEY! tocchi il mio spaghetto!” Max looked at her and said “Sta ‘zitto”
They got in a car and drove off.
“Who was that?” I asked.
“The girl? She’s Max’s sister.” Taura explained. She had been walking by me, her arms behind her head.
“Sister? But they look nothing alike. Max is whiter than snow.”
“Don’t be racist.”
Well that’s something new I learned. I saw Krieg was in the corner, calling someone. A few minutes later a Bugatti showed up. Krieg walked out and got in the car, then zoomed off.
“What the heck? Is Krieg loaded?” I turned towards Taura again. She nodded.
“Krieg owns a big energy company.”
Well that’s another thing I learned. Knowledge for everyone I guess.
Killena then walked out into an open parking space, transformed into her serpentine dragon, and flew away. I could see her doing some flips in the sky, ever the show off. Dy did the same, turning into a giant lizard guy, and hobbled away, leaving craters along the side of the road.
Barry took a whiff of his inhaler and ran off, and Curt did an over dramatic farewell and jogged off.
“Well, see you two later.” Taura waved and threw down a smoke bomb. When it dissipated she was gone. Freaking ninja.
Then it was just me and Iris, I had texted my parents to pick me up but they hadn’t shown up yet. I’m gonna be honest, ever since the first time I met her I haven’t really been to fond of Iris and her pervy ways. I glanced at her and she was just smiling looking out at the parking lot.
“Thanks in advance for coming to the party, I get lonely whenever my parents are on leave.” Iris turned to look at me. I couldn’t explain it, but something about her tone seemed...sad.
“Huh? Oh, no problem. As long as you don't grope me in my sleep or anything.”Isaid.
“I said I won’t, I’m not that bad.” Iris patted me on the back.
There was an awkward silence between us and I kept checking my phone to see if my parents were on their way. I looked out and saw them approaching.
“But that won’t stop me from doing other things.” Iris said.
“OKAY! WELP, MY PARENTS ARE HERE. SEE YOU BYE!!!” I walked off to the car and my family drove away.
“Who was that you were talking to?” My father looked at me through the rearview mirror.
“Just a classmate.” was my quick response. He smiled and gave me a quizzical look.
“Just a classmate?” He laughed.
“Yes, can we please go now?”
“We’ve been going for the past few minutes.”
“Oh, right.”
My mom turned around to look at me.
“So how’s your day been?” She asked.
“Good.”
“Anything happen?”
“Not much.”
“You know you can tell us things, right? You barely said anything about yesterday, too.”
“Nothing much happened.” I shrugged.
My mom stared at me for a second and then turned away. “Okay.” was all she said and we fell into silence.
I know it seems a little dumb that I don't tell my parents about school but that’s because I don’t want to leave this school like I did the last one.

My Hero America ch6 (A parody of My Hero Academia)
By: Team Sugar Russia (Aka: Zeus, Fox, SeaStar905, Festus, Darci, Pennywise, Loading…, and Wild-Tiger)
Chapter 6: The One Man Band
Curt and I were both villains for the match. We discussed our plan during the ten minute set up.
“So… You know Krieg from last year, what’s his quirk?” I asked Curt.
“Well, I’m afraid I can’t say much about him from last year. He didn’t really talk a whole lot, but I do know that his quirk has something to do with radiation, and I know that if he touches us, there’s a good chance that we might die. Luckily, there’s a small chance that he or the teacher will actually let him take his gloves off, but it’s still something to keep in mind.”
“Oh, well that’s nice.” I quivered.
“Like I said, he’s not going to make much physical contact. I’m pretty sure he is ground based, so we should probably pick one of the top floors and then you can cut off the power, so he can’t see that well.”
“Are you saying my quirk can actually be useful?” I perked up.
“Yes, that is exactly what I’m saying, your quirk wasn’t working out for you because you were on the hero team, but now that you are on the villain team, it works out perfectly!”
“Oh, so my quirks really only good for being a villain?” I sighed.
“Exactly!” he gave me a thumbs up, I walked over to the corner of the room and sat down facing the wall.
“Hey, what are you doing?”
“Contemplating existence.”
“Was it something I said?”
“No.” but it was something he said, I just didn’t want to say it. However, my moment of pure depression ended up short circuiting the whole building, so the plan was already working out perfectly.
“Alright, Sophia! That’s exactly what we needed.” He said in the darkness. Then the  intercom blared, “Okay students, may the test of Heroism and villainy begin!”
“Don’t worry Sophia,” Curt sayed in a light-hearted tone, “We got this one in the bag!”
Just as he said that, the whole building rumbled.
“What the hell was that?!” I shouted. The whole building began to get hotter and hotter. Even the edges of the cutouts began to singe.
“We need to get out of here!” I grabbed the cutouts and began to book it to the roof, having the windows light my way.
“Sophia, wait!” Curt called after me. Since I knew this floor plan in advance I managed to reach the roof rather quickly. Curt followed soon after.
“Well now we’re stuck on the roof. Why did you do that?” he asked me.
“You said he was ground based and if we need to we could jump to another building. And the cutouts were in danger.” I explained.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right. Okay, well we should be safe here for now.” He let out a sigh.
“You sure about that?” We both turned around and saw that Krieg was right there, midair, hovering by the explosions coming from his hands. “Hello there.” he said. We both jumped back and white stuff began to envelope Curt.
“Sophia, get back. I’ll protect yo-” and just like that, Curt was blasted off the side of the building. Krieg Laughed.
“I’m sorry, it’s just that that idiot thought he could beat me in combat with his lack of skill and weak quirk. Anyway, I’ll be taking those cutouts now.” He held his hand out like he was expecting me to just hand them over. And I probably should’ve done it. After all, there’s no way I can beat him with his quirk. How can I be expected to incapacitate him. I began to walk over to him. What am I doing? I know I need to do something but I’m not sure what I can do. And then I realized. I’m a villain, villains play dirty. I’ve been thinking of playing the hero. I continued to walk forward, this time a little more quickly. I then tossed one of the cutouts to him and while he was distracted trying to catch it I took my chance, I rushed towards him and before he had time to react, I pushed him off of the building.
Meanwhile, outside the observation room sat Iris and Barry.
“So….should we be doing something?” Iris asked.
“My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive.”
“Yeah, I’m too lazy too.”
I ran into the building with the rest of the cutouts while Krieg was falling. I tried thinking of my next step. I was down one hostage but I still have 4 left. If I can make it out of the building then I can probably run and try to stall like Barry. And then the building rumbled again.
Iris just stared. “....What was that about?” Barry just shrugged.
The building began to heat up again, faster this time. The whole building began to glow from the heat and I knew I had to get out somehow. I can’t run back to the roof, he would expect that. I couldn’t run out of the entrance, I was on the 3rd floor. So I did the only option left. I jumped out of the window. Luckily it was much softer due to the heat so I could actually break it. But then I realized something, I was 20 plus feet in the air with no landing strategy or any idea what a landing strategy was. I closed my eyes. So this is it, this is how I die. By jumping out of a window in a simulation. I mean, it’s probably better than having to deal with everyone else in my class but I had so much to do. Also, how long does it take for me to fall 20 feet? I opened my eyes to see that I had landed on Curt.
“Oh, sorry.” I got up quickly. Curt groaned and slowly got up.
“It’s fine, I softened some of my bones so neither of us would be harmed too much.”
“You can do that?” I asked.
“Yeah, my quirk allows me to manipulate the bones in my body however I want.”
“That’s cool.”
“Yep,” Curt flexed, “My quirk is pretty usef-” and he was blasted away. Krieg had shown up with a slightly burnt cardboard cutout in glove.
“Enough chit chat, we’re in the middle of a fight.”
I turned around and ran.
“Hey, get back here!” he shouted. I heard another explosion and saw him blast past me, he stopped and turned around, he made another explosion that propelled him towards me, I ducked but he managed to grab one of the cutouts. This continued until I only had 2 cutouts left. What the heck am I supposed to do, If I try to do anything he can just make another explosion and either propel himself or send me blasting off like Curt, who was currently nowhere to be found.
“Give it up, your quirk isn’t going to help you out here and I can tell by the way you move that you have no struggle experience.” Krieg trudged towards me. “Among other things, I’m likely smarter than you, I don't want to brag but this entire time you’ve been doing exactly what I expected you to do. So you have 2 options: submit now, or I blow you up just like that idiot in the leotard.”
While he was monologuing, I began to look around for anything I could use to help me get away from this guy, and then in the distance I saw Curt, charging in at full speed. I tried to move myself so Krieg’s back was turned to him. I turned my attention back to what Krieg was saying.
“ ...and thus, Mardoza, Guardian of the Pebble, fell to his knees, and passed from this world, leaving behind the mighty weapon, for he knew that, one day, its power would be acquired once mo-”
“SNEAK ATTACK!!!” Curt lunged at Krieg but was quickly blasted away.
“You see? You see what I mean when I call this guy an idiot? News flash,” He turned towards Curt. “Sneak attacks don't work if you yell ‘sneak attack’.”
While his back was turned I then proceeded to sneak up on him. Krieg turned around and I punched him square in what I was assuming was his jaw. Krieg stumbled back and I began to book it once more.
“How was that for a sneak attack?” I shouted behind me. Then the sirens outside blared.
“Okay, students. Time’s up. Because the hero was unable to capture all hostages in time, that means the villain team wins.” Mr. Koro announced.
We all went back to the observation room, Curt looking mostly fine but his costume was a little worse for wear. We gave Mr. Koro the now toasted hostages.
“Okay, time for grades.” Mr. Koro snapped his tentacles. How is that possible? “Krieg, I expected more from you, your strategy was great for getting your opponents to fall into your trap, but you allowed too much harm to come to the hostages. The purpose of this exercise was to see your classmates’ strengths and weaknesses as well as putting others before yourself. So minus points for hurting the hostages, although you did save the majority.”
Krieg crossed his arms and sat down, like he was about to have a fit.
“Curtis, you did good to stay in the fight a lot longer than last time. Using your quirk to make sure your body took minimal damage from the explosions was very smart, but do try to use more strategy in the future. Charging in without thinking will only get you and others in danger.”
“Sir, yes, sir.” Curt saluted Mr. Koro.
“And, Sophia. I must say, you improved a lot in the short time between your first match and this one. You took advantage of your opponent’s restrictions and even managed to hold your own for a little bit in combat, Good job.” He held up one of his tentacles in a thumbs up motion, only without any thumbs.
“Thank you, sir.” I nodded. Compared to my last fight I was certainly feeling less useless, so that was good.
“Okay, class. That’s it for today, let’s all get changed and head back to class, you may head home once the bell rings.”
“Hey Barry! Wanna come over to my place to play video games?” Iris asked, a grin on her face. “I got Walumario Party!”
Barry just nodded.
We all got changed and headed back to class.
“Good job, newbie.” Taura patted my shoulder. “You showed that stuck-up brat.”
“Who?” I asked.
“Krieg, mr. hazmat suit guy.” She pointed at him near the front of the group.
“Oh, him? Sure he’s cocky but I don't think he’s stuck up.” I told her.
“That’s just because it’s the first day, just wait and you’ll see what I mean.”
“Yeah, he’s no good.” Iris added, stretching. “Also, Jesus Taura, where’d you learn to tie knots?”
“A ninja never reveals their secrets. Also, Where’d Killena go?” She wondered, putting her hands behind her head.
“Knowing her, probably wrestling with Dy or something.” Iris yawned.
“tttttttttaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!” Kil charged down the hall straight towards Taura.
“Uh oh… Welp, time to run!” Taura turned on her heel and darted down the hall. Kil raced by Sophia and Iris, cursing loudly. “YOU GOT ME IN TROUBLE AGAIN YOU DAMNED NINJA! DON’T THINK I FORGOT!”
They both disappeared around the corner. A moment later a large blast of lighting shot across the hall, hitting the wall. Killena walked proudly back around the corner, dragging Taura behind her by the ninja’s scarf. Taura looked perfectly ok with this.
“Mr. Koro also said you were getting the detention too. I’m not letting you walk out of here.” Kil growled, and Taura sighed, throwing her hands up.
“You’re the one who keeps trying to stab everyone.” “IT WAS A JOKE! I TRY TO KILL EVERYONE!” Killena threw her hands up, dropping Taura’s scarf.
“Ow.” Taura said monotoned, as she sat up. “Fine you win, I’ll go to detention.”
We all made it back to class and went home except for Taura and Killena. First day of school was….interesting…. to say the least.

Chapter 5: Kil and Dy Destroy Some Sh*t.
The ten minute set up time went by quickly. But it didn’t matter, the match was done almost immediately. Once the round started both Kil and Dy transformed. Dy tore off the roof and began searching the top floor while Kil began looking through every window from the base up, crawling around the sides of the building and occasionally smashing through a wall to look inside before crawling out again to keep looking. Then Dy took out the fifth floor, then the fourth, and then the third. Killena found the hostages on the second floor but before either of them could grab the cutouts Barry and Curt grabbed them and ran.
Killena pounced, like an overgrown cat, and squashed Curt, Barry just barely making it out of her grasp, running out from under the large claws.
She lifted her huge talon to luckily find that none of the cutouts had been squashed.
Meanwhile, Dy began to chase Barry down the street firing his laser at him. It almost seemed like Barry could just stall them out but then he stopped and fell to the ground. He began to frantically search his pockets until he found an inhaler. He grabbed it and took a whiff. He stood back up getting ready to run again but the time he took searching was just enough time for Kil and Dy to catch up to him. They had him surrounded so he surrendered.
“Team A wins, Please return to the observation room.” Mr. Koro announced.
The four entered with Curt surprisingly intact and Dynus yawned and began to unconsciously sway with each step. Killena was reared up on her hind legs, the cutouts held under her arm. In her other talon she was carrying Barry by the collar of his suit.
“Oi! Kil, you might want to drop him before he turns blue!” Taura yelled out. The ninja had managed to get up into the rafters of the observing room and appeared to be sharpening a kunai.
Killena let out a churring grumble sound and dropped Barry. He fell to the ground with a loud thud, and Killena walked away. She set the cutouts down and started to shrink, going back to her human form. As she was human again, she coughed, and a large spurt of blood escaped her mouth, and she fell to a knee, hands over her mouth. In a heartbeat Taura had dropped from the rafters, and was at Kil’s side, helping her up. “I’m good. Just some internal bleeding.” Kil managed, while blood leaked out from under her hand. She tried to give a thumbs up so we would worry less.
Max opened a portal and grabbed out a first aid kit and tossed it to them.
“How is this supposed to help? I can’t put a bandaid in her stomach.” Taura asked him.
“No, but there’s some painkillers in there, that must work at least a little.”
Taura dug through the little bag and found the medicine and gave it to Kil, who tore the cap off the bottle and chugged the whole thing. A few seconds later she was back to normal.
“Well then, now that Kil isn’t in danger of death we can get into the grading process.” Mr. Koro flipped through his clipboard again.
“We’ll start with you, Killena. your strategy, while a little less effective than Dynus’, it was less destructive and as heroes it is our job to make sure everything in the surrounding area is as safe as possible. Also, you managed to quickly put a stop to one of the villains rather easily. So good job all around.”
Kil gave him another thumbs up.
“Dynus, while your method of finding the villains was fast and effective, you put any neighboring buildings and, in turn, hypothetical pedestrians in danger.”
Dy gave a heavy nod before falling flat on his face.
“Don’t mind him, he’s just passed out.” Taura told me.
“Now onto the villain team, Barry, you did a good job of keeping the hostages away from the heroes. Your only downfall is your asthma, which you, of course, have no control over. I’d suggest modifying your suit in the future to accommodate for that.”
“My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive.” Barry nodded.
Everyone just looked at him, and Iris slowly nodded in the background.
“And Curtis, sadly you were unable to stay in the fight for very long, but deciding to hide the hostages on one of the lower floors was a good decision, especially considering your opponents quirks,”
“Thank you, sir.” Curt saluted.
Mr. Koro then announced, “Okay class, time for the final round! We’ll give our two lowest scoring students, Sophia and Curtis, a second chance, by pitting them against our one man band, Krieg.”
Mr. Hazmat suit waved in the back, “Good luck, you two!”

Chapter 4: Pvp
Inside the building, five min. Before match.
“Welp,” Taura stretched her arms up over her head, “Looks like you’re going to get your wish after all. Lucky you. What’s your deal with her anyway?”
“Nothing much,” Max was tangling his thread together going in and out of portals. “I just don't like her, something about her. Makes me want to see her struggle.”
“Okay, I can get behind that. So, what’s our game plan? And does it involve me playing pranks?”
“Do what you want, I’m setting up a web that spans the whole building, if they get caught in the web, I’ll know exactly where they are. I also want them to know what fear is, the new girl’s quirk can work with us. And once you apprehend the perv, give her to me.”
“This sounds very elaborate. But also fun. I’m up for it.” Taura smirked.
“Let me ask you a question though.” Taura cracked a wicked grin, her eyes glinting. “Eldritch Horror or Nightmare?”
Outside the building, one minute before match.
“Alright, partner. What’s our plan?” I ask Iris, who was adjusting her goggles.
“I think it would be best if I used my X-ray vision to see where the hostages are and then book it in the building.” Iris explained.
“Okay, and what do I do?”
“Do you have any combat abilities?”She asked me.
“No.”
“Can your quirk cause physical damage?”
“No, just mess with electronics.”
“Then just stay beside me, don't get in my way, and let me look at you from time to time.”
“Ugh, fine.” I don't like being useless, I want to do something.
The intercom screeched outside the building.
“Attention students, may the training match commence.” Mr. Koro announced.
“Okay, turning on X-ray.” Iris cranked her goggles and the lenses swapped with different ones. She stared for a few seconds and then turned towards me.
“Max is on the fourth floor, probably the hostages too, and I can’t see Taura.” She explained.
“How can Taura combat X-ray freaking vision?” I asked.
“I can’t really see through things I just use a combination of thermal vision and motion tracking. They also require an electric charge so please be careful with your quirk.”
“Okay.” we began to enter the building but then I thought more about what she said. “Wait, so that time you were in the bush saying you were peeping on me?”
“I was lying, how’d you like my joke?” She smiled. I hit her on the head, glaring. “Okay, I’m sorry. Let’s just go.”
We walked into the building and wandered around on the first floor, trying to find the stairs. Everything going good, but then we heard something in the distance, a hissing-growl sound. I jolted and made the lights flicker.
“Watch it, my vision got fuzzy, just keep calm. That’s probably Taura.” Iris warned.
“How is Taura making those sounds?” I asked.
“You don't know her quirk? I thought she told you.” Iris said, confused.
“Tell me wha-” something fell in front of us. Something large. It reared up, almost 7 feet tall. It had a canine-like, rounded face, with six dark eyes and a set of giant spider mandibles. It  had the body of what looked like a hyena and giant bat wings stretched off it’s back. And it had eight legs. Eight.
A large maw opened along the bottom of the face, going down it’s neck, baring large, glinting, needle like fangs. It let out a jaw rattling shriek-howl sound, and lunged forward. I screamed, stumbling and falling back, and must have let out a large pulse because the lights went out and wouldn’t come back on. The creature leapt over me and disappeared behind us, leaving us alone.
“Agh, my X-ray! It’s fried.” Iris took off her goggle and began tweaking them.
“I’m sorry, I was scared. What was that?” I asked her.
“That was Taura, she can change herself to look like different animals.” She explained. She cranked her goggles again and put them back on, she opened her eyes and the goggles became something like spot lights, illuminating the corridor.
“Cooooool.” I said. “How did you do that?”
“Yellow lenses make my eyes create light, Green becomes night vision but I think it would be best if you could see, too.”
“Thanks, should we keep going?”
“Yeah, we’re down to twenty minutes. Let’s hurry.” We ran around the halls until we finally found the stairs.
“What the heck. These shouldn’t be so hard to find.” I panted.
“It took a little longer because Taura delayed us but we should be fine. Keep going.”
We ran around some more until the third floor stairs appeared in the distance.
“There it is. We’re almost to the hostages.” As I said that Iris’s lights went out.
“Iris?” I turned around but she wasn’t there. “Hello? You better not be playing another prank or something perverted.” There was no sound. Well shit.
Somewhere in the building, twenty minutes in.
Iris fell through a portal and onto the ground with a loud thump.
“Ouch. Well, I thought this would happen. Come on Sophia, we need to keep moving. Sophia?” Iris turned around to find herself alone. “Crap, this is the one thing I didn’t want to happen. How am I supposed to complete this mission without my eyecandy?”
In the distance was laughter. Cackling laughter, more akin to a gleeful hyena than a human.
“Taura, I know it’s you. You can’t scare me.” Iris cranked her goggles into blue lenses. Her eyes began to glow. “Come out you beautiful degenerate!”
Behind Iris a silhouette rose. She turned around and lasers began to emit from her eyes. The dark figure had disappeared before she managed to turn. Iris only caught a glimpse of it as it darted away. Iris began looking around frantically, continuing her laser barrage. Then something shot out of the darkness. A kunai attached to rope. It wrapped around Iris’ legs and pulled sharply, causing Iris to fall. The dark figure loomed closer and revealed itself to be Taura, still with the spider face. She transformed back into her natural form and crouched down by Iris. Iris glared at her. “What the heckie, man?!”
“Hi, Iris. I’m doing a thing for Max, he needs you for something.”
Iris’ glare only deepens. “Why didn’t you just say so?”
“I don't know.” She shrugged. A portal opened behind her and Max poked his head out.
“Let’s go, Taura. We have ten minutes left.”
“Can we at least go get Sophia? She’s probably looking all over for me.”
“That’s the plan.” and Max ducked back in to his portal.
“C’mon, Perv. We’ve got a job to do.” Taura tied Iris up, picked her up, slinging her over her shoulder, and leapt through the portal.
Third floor of building, ten minutes in.
Okay, I’m alone, it’s dark, and I’m very scared. Someone please help. I should be close to the fourth floor now but it’s almost impossible to see with my only guide being the light from the windows. I rounded the corner and my heart skipped a beat. In front of me dangling from the ceiling was Iris, all tied up in string with a gag in her mouth. She began to try and yell something at me but I couldn’t understand her due to the gag. I began looking around but then something touched my shoulder, I whipped around but nothing was there. It touched me again on the other shoulder but when I looked to the other side it was gone again. I looked towards Iris and I found her looking up, I did the same and when I did I found a dark figure standing upside down above me, looking straight at me. The only thing I could distinguish were the eight, green, eyes. I screamed and it fell to the ground,It rose up and began stalking towards me. I turned to run but when I looked away there was a spider face right in front of me, both walking closer. I had no other option so I crouched down and covered my ears, and then the lights turned on.
“Okay, students. Time’s up. Since the heroes did not save the hostages in time, that means the villain team wins. Please exit the building and come to the observation room.” Mr. Koro announced.
Max punched a wall out of frustration.
“You got lucky, little girl. Saved by the bell.” He climbed up the walls to cut down Iris. she fell to the floor with a loud thud and he dragged her out of the building. Iris’ screams were muffled but still audible.
“Sorry about that.” Taura held out her hand, “We thought it would be fun to scare you.”
I grabbed her hand and pulled myself up. “That wasn’t very funny, what kind of sick humor do you have?”
“The sadistic kind.” We began to make our way out of the building. “Don’t worry about Max, he’ll never directly harm you, and the rest of us will do what we can stopping the indirect harm from coming your way.”
“Apparently that doesn’t include emotional pain since you sure as hell weren’t helping me when Max was standing right above me.” I pouted.
“Well this time was different, that was our objective.”
“To mentally scar me?”
“No, to keep you from winning.”
“Whatever. Just please don't do that again.” I groaned.
“No promises, but nothing that bad. By the way, how’d you like my marvelous eldritch horror?” She smirked.
“I think it was excessive, a simple bug face would have done the same.”
“But where’s the fun in that?” She grinned and kept walking.
We made it to the observation room to find Iris still bundled up, but her gag was off at least.
“SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF THIS!!! I thought it was kinky at first Taura, but you tied me too tight.” She shouted. Max crouched down and untangling the string. Eventually she was free. And Mr. Koro began the grading.
“Okay, time to see who scored what for that session.” Mr. Koro flipped through his clipboard “We’ll start with the villain team first. Starting with Taura.”
Taura, for once, wasn’t completely relaxed. She looked calm enough, but she stood up straight like she was being addressed by a drill sergeant.
“You had the most points out of anyone in this exercise. You excel in both close to long range combat and you made sure that no one got any closer to the hostages than necessary. Bonus points for that fusion animal. Keep up the training with the fusions and hybrids.”
“Thank you, sir.”
“Next is Maxwell. You didn’t fight a whole lot but you did do an excellent work setting up, being able to know where everyone was at all times. Good job. BUT, you did leave the hostages alone when going out to stalk Sophia. So minus points for that. But good knot tying skills.”
“Thank you.” He grumbled.
“Now the heroes.” he flipped through some more and looked back up. “ Iris.”
“Still tied up, but yeah?”
“Maxwell, finish untying her.”
“Fine.” Max continued to cut the string.
“Anyway, Iris. You did very well moving forward and not giving up after Taura turned into that hybrid, so good on you for that.”
“Thanks sir. Also, I’m still pissed at you, Taura.”
“I’m flattered.” Taura responded, smirking.
Iris just growled strangely like a chimpanzee. Taura responded in kind, letting out a growl like a hyena again.
“As I was saying.” Mr. Koro spoke up, cutting off the two. “You were quick to recover once your X-ray was disabled so good problem solving skills but you did falter when it came to combat. Because you were mindlessly firing your lasers you damaged much of the building, and since you didn’t know where the hostages were you could have harmed them. So minus points for that.”
“Sorry sir….I’ll try harder next time. And hopefully WITHOUT interruptions.” She didn’t target me specifically but I knew she was talking about my little scare.
“And finally Sophia, I’ll give you one thing. You were the closest in your team to reaching the hostages. But you hindered your teammate by losing your cool. And when the time came to engage in combat, you broke down.”
I looked down in defeat. He was right, one of my objectives was to apprehend both villains and when they were both there, I froze.
“But, this isn’t all bad. Now that you know all of your mistakes you now have a clear goal to strive towards. Take this defeat and turn it into a future victory.” I looked back up and wiped away the tears that were welling up. At least there was some silver lining. Mr. Koro then clapped his tentacles again and we moved on to the next match.
“Okay, Team A will be the heroes and Team B are the villains.”
“Yeah, I get to blow shit up!” Dy screamed.
“My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive.” Barry pumped his fist into the air. We all looked at him.
“WOULD YOU SHUT UP!” Dy yelled.
“Barry, I will kill you in your sleep.” Said Max. Barry put his hand down.
Iris just grins, sighing a bit. “He has such a way with words…”
“Okay, teams. Go to the adjacent training ground and set up.” the group went to the grounds and the rest of us turned to watch on the monitors.

Chapter 3: Training
We all headed out to the grounds, all the while I felt like I was missing something. OH, CRAP! I don't have my hero suit. I walked towards the front of the group to Mr. Koro.
“Koro, sir. I don't have my hero costume.” I told him.
“You needn’t worry about that, your freshman suit was sent to us once we were notified you would be a new student, you should find it in your changing locker.” Mr. Koro explained.
“Oh, thanks for clearing that up.”
“You are very welcome.”
We arrived at the changing rooms outside of the training grounds.
“Okay, students.” Mr. Koro clapped his tentacles to get everyone’s attention, “Please change as quickly as you can, your suits should be in the same lockers as last year. Sophia, your suit is in locker 2106 H.”
We all entered the changing rooms. Divided, of course. I can’t imagine how the guys would react seeing all of us in one spot changing, probably how Iris is acting right now.
I walked over to my locker and opened it up and inside was my old suit, that I really need to change. I guess I thought it was cool last year but now it looks like something from Party City. It was a light blue with yellow highlights, and a giant, bright, lightning bolt on the front, as well as a mask that covered the space around my eyes. I always wondered why people thought these would be good disguises, you can still see my eye color, hair, and other general features of my face. But, hey, it’s all I’ve got for right now, I can probably change it later. I put it on and began to walk out, watching out for Iris, I noticed Taura was sneaking up on Kil, but that was a pin on the grenade I didn’t want to pull, I decided it would be best if I didn’t do anything and went to the grounds.
Outside there was already a few people, Krieg the hazmat suit guy was already out with the only difference being that his suit was orange instead of the standard yellow he was wearing before, as well as what looked like gloves that were separated from the suit.
There was also Curtis, but to save a syllable I’m just gonna call him Curt. So Curt was also out with what looked like a leotard that was pitch black and something really weird coming from his shoulders to cover his face. I think it was something with his quirk.
Dy was also out there, he was actually wearing something different. He had black sweatpants with one green stripe on the side of each pant leg and a hole for his tail, he had on a black hoodie with white stripes on his sleeves. He apparently doesn’t like shirts or shoes.
I waited around with them for a few minutes until everyone else came out. Barry was wearing a red and yellow suit that also had a lightning bolt on the front.
After that was Kil and Taura. Killena was wearing a sleeveless electric blue over shirt, with some wraps that looked like scales around her torso. She had a set of longshorts, with some pockets where she could keep weapons, and was wearing the same scale wrappings around her lower arms, hands, lower legs, and feet. Scale-spikes had shot up on her elbows and shoulders, and her hands and wrist were coated in small shiny scales.
Taura was intimidating. Knee high boots, a skirt, and a long, sleeveless jacket with a long, flowing black scarf that wraps around her waist and neck. She also wore a set fingerless gloves that go up to her elbows with wrist wrappings over them. At her waist was two sheathed blades. For someone so short, she was remarkably intimidating.
Iris soon followed with a weird set of goggles that had lenses poking out on all sides. Her suit was just a silver and gold Morph suit.
And the last one out was Max, and his outfit certainly matched his personality. It was a slightly padded suit with webs going all around the suit, his shoes were cleated and two large, talon like, spikes poking out of the front and one in the back. On his wrists were two spools of silvery thread that connected to something on the back of his hand, that split out into five wires that ran along each finger that ended at spikes connected to each fingertip. Oh, and how could I forget THE SCARY HELMET THAT LOOKS LIKE A SPIDER. It had eight eyes and even things that looked like mandibles. He was all black and teal.
Max reached up and pressed something on the side of his helmet to make it open up, I think I like the mask on more. He locked eyes with me and gave his harshest death stare yet.
“Okay!” Mr. Koro got everyone’s attention. “Now that everyone is ready, let’s make teams. Due to the odd number, we’ll have one team of one, any volunteers?”
Max and Krieg raised their hands.
“Maxwell, I believe you should work on you team work, so Krieg will be our team of one.” Mr. Koro decided.
Max grunted and looked away.
“Now that the team of one is decided, the rest will draw lots to see who’s in a group. Everyone.”
Iris raised her hand.
“Yes?”
“Can I be in a group of hot people?”
“I don’t want her.” Taura called out.
Iris turned around, looking down at Taura. “Are you assuming you’re a hot person.”
Taura grinned. “Yes.”
“The group you’ll be in is up to fate.” Koro Explained.
“Awww…” Iris pouted. “....Another question. I forget stuff easily, so who the hell are you?”
“I’m your teacher. You had me last year.” Mr. Koro shook his head
“I did?”
“Yes. But we’re tight on time, let’s make teams. Draw your lots.” He presented a cup with straws
The teams went as follows.
Team A: Dynus and Killena.
“The Unholy Alliance!” Killena yelled out, grinning and fist bumping Dy.
“Oooooh You’re all soooo dead!” Dy said grinning.
Team B: Barry and Curt.
“My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. My mother was killed by the impossible, two consecutive lightning strikes in the same spot.”
All of us looked at Barry in confusion.
Team C: Taura and Max.
“Alright, team spider!” Taura held up her hand to Max. He looked at her and said. “If we’re against the newbie, She’s mine. Do what you want with the other one.”
Taura puts her hand down. “Aw, I wanted to do that. But okay, I’d like to see what you’ll do, you seem to have bad blood with her or something.”
And Team D: Me and Iris
Iris did a little fist pump and I glared at her.
“Okay, now that we have teams we can begin. The students that score the lowest points will face off against Krieg in the last round.” Mr. Koro clapped.
“Our first round will be,” He drew sticks out of the cup. “Team C as the villains, and Team D as the heroes. The villains will have ten minutes to get things set up and hide their hostages which will be represented by these cut outs.” He pulled out some cardboard cutouts of himself in different colors. “The heroes will have 30 minutes, you can either win by rescuing all cutouts, or capturing the villains using this ribbon. The same goes for the villains. Allright, chop chop.” He handed the cutouts to Taura and lead the rest of the class to the observation room.
Taura and Max began to walk towards the practice building. Before they entered Taura turned towards Iris and I.
“Good luck you two.” She winked and went into the building. Then Max turned towards us and glared “You’re going to need it.” he closed his helmet and followed Taura. I saw them, surprisingly, exchange a fist bump. Oh boy.
Character: Maxwell Cancello
Quirk: Portal: He can make portals of varying sizes anywhere he can see, has been, or knows the exact coordinates of (which is why he likes sending people to Antarctica), the more portals he makes or the larger the portals, the larger the headache he gets.
Age: 16
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Height: 6’1”

Chapter 2: Class Begins
“Quiet down, students. Class is starting soon.” A tall man walked through the door. Except he wasn’t a man, he was an octopus. It looked like an octopus had stuffed itself inside of a suit and was try to imitate humans. “Has anyone seen Killena? She isn’t in her seat.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Koro.” Max spoke up and rolled back his sleeve to expose a watch. “She’ll be here in ten...nine...eight...seven...six...five-” He put up two portals on each side of him and continued to count, “three...two...one.”
He looked towards the window and we all followed his gaze. Outside the window was a small speck that slowly grew to reveal a massive platinum colored dragon barreling towards us, it looked majestic. And then it got closer, nevermind it doesn’t look majestic, it looks kinda terrifying, like it’s going to eat someone. JEEZ THOSE ARE LARGE TEETH! Everyone in the back row except for Max, jumped out of their seats and scrambled toward the front of the room. As for Dy, he got up and hurried to right next to the window. In the distance I heard it. “iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnccccccCCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNGGG!!!!!” The dragon transformed into a humanoid shape and shot towards the window. It broke through the glass like it was nothing, kicked Dy in the face with a taloned foot, went through Max’s portal, and crashed into the wall. The dust settled to show a girl embedded upside down in the wall. She had a dragon’s tail and talon feet with some scale patches on her arms and face. As well as a set of antler like horns on her head. She coughed up blood and then held out her hand, a grin on her face.
“DY! WRESTLE!”
Dy sat up with a smile and rushed over to the girl and began to arm wrestle her, while she was upside down, coughing blood, and inside of the wall.
“I am the superior reptile!” the dragon girl declared.
“NO! I am!” Dy shouted.
“Alright you two, get back in your seats. Killena, clean up your mess.” the teacher ordered.
“Yes sir.” Killena saluted and pushed herself out of the wall, falling and rolling to her feet. She gathered up all of the rubble and swept it into the corner with her tail. When she was done she sat down next to Max and he glared at her. I wasn’t even the one he was looking at and I still shivered, but not Killena. She smiled and said “Hi Max! He flinched at the comment as if this was the first time this has happened. He grunted and looked towards the front of the class.
“Hi, Kil.”
“Okay, now that everyone is present, we can begin class.” The octo-teacher clapped his tentacles. “Hello, I am Mr. Koro. Some of you know me, some of you don't, I will be your homeroom teacher for the whole of highschool, though you should already know that as Sophomores. Okay, I’ll call role and then explain what this year will be like.” He pulled out a clip board and began to read it. “Okay, Barry.” The kid with the Inhaler raised his hand really fast. Mr. Koro scribbled on his board, “Curtis,”
“Here.” the boney guy raised his hand.
“Dynus.”
“HELLO.”
“Krieg.”
“Hi.” the Hazmat suit spoke.
“Iris.”
“Hello hello.”
“Taura.”
“Ninja present and accounted for.”
“Maxwell.”
Max raised his hand silently.
“Killena.”
“Howdy.”
“And finally, our new student this year, Sophia. I see someone’s finally taken a front seat, good for you.”
“Oh, thank you.” I blushed.
“Now then, time to discuss the new changes we’re having this school year. Killena! Put down the kunai you stole from Taura!”
I glanced back to see Killena had been holding a small kunai over Max, and she flinched when she was yelled at, dropping the kunai. Which promptly fell into a small portal Max placed above his head.
“I didn’t steal it. It was borrowed... with permission. OK, look she gave it to me.” She said, huffing. A small flicker of yellow fire escaped her mouth as she crossed her arms.
“I gave you permission to use my kunai for emergencies.” Taura sighed.
“Wha- Gah, you gave it to me you little-…”
“Killena. I’m scheduling you for an after school detention. Apparently we need to go over why threatening people with sharp objects is bad. Again. For the 4th time.” Mr. Koro said, an exasperated sound in his voice.
“Now, as I was saying. We have new changes to the school.” He flipped the pages on his clipboard
“So, instead of alternating classes, you kids will alternate teachers, meaning I hope you like everyone in this room or else you’re out of luck, Maxwell.”
Max scowled at the back.
“We decided this would be the best for when you have to form hero teams later in the year. Oh yeah, by the way, you have to make hero teams. Luckily we can start that right away since it’s a half day and you’ll only have me for the first week. You’ve all got your hero costumes from last year as well as your hero names so we’re all set, follow me, everyone. To the training grounds!”

My Hero America ch1 (A parody of My Hero Academia)
My Hero America
By: Team Sugar Russia (Aka: Zeus, Aphrodite, Fox, SeaStar905, Festus, Darci, Pennywise, Loading…, and Wild-Tiger)
Chapter 1: Introduction to Insanity
Hi, my name is Sophia. I’m a Pyxis, single, blonde haired, green eyed, and 5’11”. And this is the story of how I become the world’s greatest hero… maybe. I mean, I’m not the best at fighting or rescuing or even very charismatic, and I have terrible social skills but that’s besides the point. The point is I have all of the determination needed to become the greatest hero… well… half of the determination. I’m going to be honest, my quirk isn’t the best, I’m basically a walking EMP.
Oh, right. I haven’t even explained what quirks are, that’s embarrassing. Okay, so basically quirks are superpowers that just sort of showed up out of the blue. Something about genetics and missing toe joints and other stuff. And I just realized I got side tracked again, back to what I was meaning to say.
I have electromagnetic charges pulse out of me at all times, most of the time it doesn’t affect electronics too much, mostly a little bit of screen static here and there but it gets amplified the stronger my emotions are, which doesn’t mix well with the fact that I get scared, overjoyed, or depressed really easily. But that won’t stop me… I hope.
I mean, I am going to the supposedly best hero high school in the state, Lee’s Summit East. But this is Missouri we’re talking about so I’m not sure how good “the best” means. At the very least I know we’ll be better than Alabama but that’s a low bar to climb. Today’s my first day, I’m actually walking there right now. I wonder what classmates I’ll have, hopefully really friendly ones, or at the very least normal people, well, as normal as you can get with quirks.
I’m almost there, I can see the school in the distance...and something else. Looks like a giant lizard. Oh, because that’s actually a giant lizard. OH GOD THAT’S A GIANT LIZARD! It’s lumbering towards the building! Is it a villain? Aaaaaand, it’s shrinking… what just happened?
I run over to where it shrunk and saw something… somewhat weird. A tall half human half all green lizard looking person was just sleeping in the middle of the courtyard. Seriously, what the heck just happened? He then slowly gets up and that’s when I realize, he’s wearing no clothes. I quickly look away and attempt to make an escape without him noticing. He noticed. Without a second going by he was right in front of me.
“Hello, my name’s Dy, I’m a student here. who’re you?” He sticks out his hand casually and I shake it gingerly. Is this guy okay? I mean he probably isn’t considering he has green scaly skin, dark green hair, and a tail, and the fact he’s wearing nothing is a give away that he is not okay.
“Hi, I’m Sophia. Do you know that you’re naked?”
“Yes.”
There was a long silence between us as I slowly started to back away, eventually I turned and went into a full sprint.
“Welp, nice meeting you, Sophia.” He shouted in the background.
Okay, so that’s one nope. Hopefully everyone else isn’t like that. I slow down a bit and begin to look around, there were two giant footprints in the courtyard left by Dy and a few small buildings in front of the school’s front doors. Most of the students didn’t react to Dy’s show so I started to finally calm down and walk at a normal pace when suddenly I heard a rustle coming from some nearby bushes.
“Hello? Who’s there?” I asked and the rustling stopped. I blinked a few times and then began to walk away, then the rustling started back up. I looked over again and the bush stopped moving, but it was closer to me. Okay, that’s weird, I started to walk a little faster. And the bush moved once more this time I looked back without moving my head to much so it wouldn’t look like I was staring at the bush. In my peripheral I saw two a pair of goggles stick out of the bush and look me up and down. It freaked me out so much that I accidentally amped my quirk and sent out a shock wave. The outdoors lights flickered and the bush started to tumble around. Out popped a person, a dirty blonde girl with the weirdest pair of glasses ever.
“No! My X-ray vision, It’s all fuzzy!” she quickly pulled off her goggles to show two multi-colored eyes
“Whoa, trippy. But also, WHAT THE HECK DUDE? Why were you following me in a bush?” I demanded.
“Oh, no reason. It’s not like I was using my quirk to look at you without your clothes on or anything, nothing like that. By the way, I like the color white, too. Okay bye.” And she ran away.
“What is with this school?” I tried to forget about it and move on. Besides, that’s only two nopes out of a whole school, how many more nopes could there be? It was then that I bumped into someone.
“Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Have you seen everyone else here? They’re so weird, rig-” I looked up to see the man I bumped into staring deep into the darkest depths of my soul, I shivered and tried to apologize again. “S-sir-”
“Walk away.” He ordered.
“YES SIR!” and I bolted into the building.
I made my way through the halls, glancing around corner to watch out for people. Why were there so many nopes in this school?
As I was walking along a hall, heading for the class I was assigned, I heard someone suddenly speak.
“Hello. Are you new?”
I looked around and didn’t see anyone, but after a moment I looked up and for a moment there was nothing, but then I saw movement and someone poked their head out from under a blanket, the same texture as the ceiling.
“Watch out.” The girl said, and leapt down, somersaulting and landing neatly. She stood up, brushed herself off and rolled up the blanket. She had long brown hair, tied back in a ponytail, parted to one side so her bangs covered her left eye. And, I noticed after a second, slit pupils.
I was also surprised to find she was, in fact, short. She held out her hand. “I’m Taura. I haven’t seen you before, so welcome.”
“Thanks. I’m Sophia. Umm… May I ask why you were on the ceiling?” I wondered. I silently noted that instead of fingernails, she had claws. Sharp claws.
“Oh, I was seeing if I could surprise anyone when they were going to class.” She said simply, with a smirk, showing off long canine fangs where normal canine teeth would be. She tossed the end of her scarf back over her shoulder and started to walk by me. With a shrug I followed. I noticed, as we were walking, that she had what looked like a shortened katana on her back. Odd...
“What class are you in?” She wondered, stretching her arms over her head.
“Uh, 2106.” I replied.
“Oh, you’re in for a good time. Welcome to the troublemaker’s class. Follow me.”
We walked along, going up a staircase all the way to the end of the school on the second floor. In front of us was giant door that was beaten all to hell.
“This seems unsafe.” I pointed out.
“Eh, you’ll be fine. Class doesn’t start until the door breaks. Just don’t get on anyones bad side. Because they can literally and probably kill you.” Taura explained. Once she opened the door and we walked in I saw that the room was pretty empty with not many students in class. There was a guy with some white rocky stuff sprouting from his shoulders,it kind of looked like bones, a kid taking a huff out of an inhaler, and all the way in the back was a guy wearing a hazmat suit.
“Where is everyone?” I asked Taura
“Still in the halls, some ditching.” She told me. “You can take a seat anywhere just watch out because some students claim their seats and won’t be too kind to you if you take them.”
“Huh, okay.” I walked towards the back and chose the nearest window seat.
“Speaking of the devil.” Taura said nonchalantly, sitting down and leaning back in her chair, arms behind her head. “She should be here soon.”
“What?”
“Nothing. But you should probably pick a different seat. To save yourself some trouble.”
“Oh, okay.” I got up and sat in the seat right next to me. I heard Taura click her tongue. “Is this a bad seat too?”
“Yes, get out.” a voice that I had heard before appeared behind me. I turned around and looked him in the eye, and I shivered. And the lights flickered “AH! Scary man, Taura, help me.”
Taura opened an eye and glanced over. “Come on, Max, leave the new guy alone. Though, Sophia, I’d recommend you move.”
“You should have told her this was my seat.” He walked out of the oval thing he was standing in and took the seat I was once in.
“Where would the fun in that be?”
“Whatever. Sophia, right? A word of advice, all of the back seats have been claimed, your better off picking one in the front, preferably as far from me as possible.” Max glared at me, was that supposed to be helpful?
“It’s fine Soph, you can sit anywhere that hasn’t been claimed. And don't worry about Max, he’s all bark and no bite, the last time he teleported someone to Antarctica was at the beginning of last year, so there should be no worries.”
“Did you say Antarctica?” I asked
“HELLO MY PEOPLE!!!”
“Oh god, it’s the idiot.” Max grumbled.
Dy entered the room, still with no clothes.
“Jesus Dy, put some pants on.” Taura covered her eyes.
“I tore my pair when I transformed.” He explained.
“Then why did you transform?”
“I felt like it. It helps me stretch my tail better.”
Max groaned and opened a portal and fished his arm through, he pulled out a pair of sweats and threw it at Dy.
“Cover up, that thing’s disgusting.”
Dy tore a hole in the back and put it on, “Thanks, you’re a good friend too, have I told you that before? Also thanks for not getting me a shirt, I hate those”
“As long as that thing is covered up.”
“Holy crap, Max is being nice. What’s happened to you?” Taura smirked from the back.
“I will send you to Antarctica, don't think I won’t.” He opened another portal and snow started falling through.
“I was just teasing, you can close that. Besides you think you could catch a ninja?”
“Wait I need to get something from it.” Dy said as he jumped in. He came back out with a coat.
“Why and how?” Max asked.
“I stole it off a random guy, I don’t think he needed it, and also I love jackets/hoodies.”
I finally chose a seat while the others were bickering, I sat front and center, literally. I looked back and watched how the others were so effortlessly talking to each other, although Max looked like he was trying to do whatever he could to get out of the conversation. OH, I just realized that I forgot to describe Max. He’s, well, dark. Not edgy dark but literally dark. He had black wavy hair and wore all black except for his shirt which was a dark teal, but that was covered up by a black jacket. The only part of him that wasn’t dark was his pale skin.I’d say the most defining feature he has are his offputting Blue eyes which had dark rings under them, and had the ability stare into your soul and can make even the happiest person depressed.
I heard footsteps in the distance and looked towards the door to see who was going to enter. When they entered the lights flickered again.
“What the heck is going on with these glass- Oh no, not you.” the somewhat tall dirty blonde girl pointed at me.
“Me?! I wasn’t the one peeping at you in the bushes. That was you!”
“Iris, were you being a peeping tom again?” Taura yelled from the back.
“...no.”
“We talked about this, no perving at school. Unless you’re me or Dy, even though he doesn’t show it. The punishment is you have to stick your hand through one of Max’s portals.”
“UGGGGHHHh. Fine, Max, go easy on me please.”
“I don't know what that means.” He opened a portal and Iris stuck her hand through. She was quiet for a few seconds and then let out a blood curdling scream.
“What is all of this commotion, do I need to send someone to detention?” A tall man walked through the door.
