what makes me actually boil with rage is the way it’s framed as though jacob & the cullens have an even rivalry and like, he hates them just as much as they hate him, but like… jacob is a lower class kid who lives on the rez, the cullens live in a plantation home on private property. jacob calling alice a leech is an insult, but alice calling him a mongrel calls into power and privilege, ya know. like am i supposed to honestly think jake making blonde jokes to rosalie (which is certainly sexist and uncalled for) is on the same level as her serving him food in a dog dish? him seeing the cullens as bloodsuckers and murderers is just like, incorrect and unfair, but them seeing him as uncivilized and over-aggressive has implications deeply rooted in the oppression of his people

thinking about how everyone's like "yeehaw Jasper! he wears cowboy hats and assless chaps!" despite limited textual evidence for him having an aesthetic that in anyway resembles cowboy style.

ALSO. BY THE WAY. That bit in the film where Bella sees the sickly colour of Waylon's dead and drained skin. And instantly is reminded of the shade of Edward's skin. Hoooooly shit. Now that is the kind of horror moment I love. Hhhhhhhhh oh how I wish this film had been a horror.

Actually watching New Moon as an adult is so sad like I know I’ve said it before but Bella’s visceral self loathing throughout the first thirty minutes of the movie - even when Edward is with her - is just so heartbreaking.

Folding the picture in half to hide herself, saying he won’t want her when she’s old and ugly, asking for affection as a birthday gift, being humiliated that people care enough to do something for her, apologizing because she was injured, saying that she legitimately doesn’t care if she loses her soul, immediately begging to be taken with them, minimizing the pain done to her, literally just looking at herself as the most worthless pathetic creature who can only be given love as a benevolent gift, never earned, and if she loses it of course she was supposed to lose it because she was always worth nothing…

twilight AU where the cullens actually try to blend in at school. alice gets really into prosthetic makeup to give everyone pimples. she herself wears braces, complete with head gear. edward goes full emo and wears eyeliner and ripped skinny jeans. rosalie fries her hair with a straightener in the school bathroom every morning before the first bell. emmett wears so much axe body spray the admin gets involved because people with asthma are suffering. jasper wears carhartt and a baseball cap that he folds up in his back pocket like Indiana farmer boys. also it doesn’t work at all, and people just think they’re unnaturally pretty AND weird.
