Describe your favorite pair of socks

To be honest, I have a thing for long socks and stockings, so my favorite pair are these stripped thigh highs that have bands of all the main colors of all the different Veevees: Beige, Orange, Blue, Yellow, Lavender, Black, Light Green, Light Blue, and Pink. I don't wear them in public usually though.

[Sorry I haven't been very here lately, I got some creative projects that have taken my attention, but I do wanna do more here. I should reblog some ask games or something because I do want to interact more and establish more characterization. So also just if anyone has any asks they wanna send, my ask box is totally open!]

"There are a lot of anime and manga that feature pokemon as their main cast. I really like the Palafin one you're referring to." She had a poster up in her room after all. "Surprisingly there are fewer series with Veevee protagonists than you'd think. Some of them are very popular, so they feel prominent. I have been maybe coming up with ideas for my own story."

Being asked to test another league's security system caught her off guard. She felt a little flustered at the proposition and let out a breath of a laugh. "I mean... I could possibly do that. Depending on what you'd need. And uhm... Do it more formally, in writing maybe. So I won't get in trouble with La Primera."

Penny was certainly grateful for how easily Fizz was able to redirect to something else and make topic change possible without being too awkward. Fizz was absolutely thriving now that he was getting attention, wagging his butt in excitement. She laughed and turned her attention again to Jake's words. "Hobbies huh... Well, I have two... categories? I guess I'd call them? I draw and write a little. M-mostly stuff for and from Anime and Manga. And on the other side of that, I uh..." Should she admit she was a hacker? They had gotten pretty open not long ago, so it should be okay? "I work with computer software. Like... learning how to deconstruct and work within programs."

Penny had never been in the Levincia gym before. Sure, she'd been in the city, she'd passed by both the building and the battle stadium. But she had never had reason to go in. But since she had to make up for the frankly very illegal thing she did and was lucky to not have to do anything more than what equated to community service for the League, she had come here because Geeta told her she needed to. And as she stood at the front desk, she felt her nerves starting to get the best of her. She, of course, knew about Iono. Who didn't know about Iono? Especially as someone who spent a lot of time online, she had caught plenty of her streams. But meeting her in person would be something different. And she was meant to help in whatever way Iono deemed necessary. She sincerely hoped that she wouldn't have to be on stream and could help in other ways. But in the end, she would have to do Whatever it was that Iono decided she needed help with. Finally, she spoke up, telling the person at the desk that she was there on League business to see Iono. Her voice didn't shake, but she almost found herself hoping that Iono was too busy and she would just have to come back later or another day or never.

But that luckily wasn't as much of a problem as she feared, because Fizz started yapping playfully, gently headbutting her in the leg before rubbing up against Jake's in a vye for attention. Penny let out a breath. "I think he thinks we're talking too much and not paying enough attention to him."

"At least you won't be alone. Even if you have the most experience of everyone going in, don't try to take on anything on your own... I know you're fully capable and your pokemon are strong, but still... Don't be reckless." Penny let out a little sigh. It was all said from concern. She did really believe that Celeste would be able to handle herself, but extra caution in uncertain circumstances wouldn't be amiss. "Oh... Yeah. Of course. I'm always here, if you ever need to vent anything. Or just talk. Or anything really. You're my friend and I'll do anything I can to support my friends."

It made her happy and relieved to have an ally for this like Penny. "I'll try to. The uncertainty about if anything's changed down there is the scary part, and hopefully it's something that I can handle. Even with Asterope at my side." Celeste replied; mentioning the Miraidon that she was in possession of.

"And thanks for hearing out everything I got in my head lately. I'm glad I have someone like you I can trust Penny." Finally getting all of this anxiety and dread out that she has been feeling for awhile felt so good.

"That's horrible. Legendary pokemon shouldn't be used as tools, especially with such destructive power against people and pokemon alike." It sure sounded like a whole mess.

Umbreon ♂

Name: Oscar (like Oscuro aka Dark in Spanish)

Personality: Protective, Guarded, Nocturnal

Other: Oscar is very protective of Penny. If he ever senses that Penny is in danger or distressed, he'll actively guard her and glare at whoever is causing her distress. He responds to her emotions rather acutely. And when he's not on guard duty, if it's daytime, he most often can be found napping in the shade somewhere.

Vaporeon ♂

Name: Spray (from the constant need for the Spray bottle as a baby {he loved it})

Personality: Mischievous, Playful, Quick to Run

Other: Spray loves to cause trouble. You know how cats like knocking things off tables? That's Spray. Even when he's not causing trouble, he'll flee if Penny looks at him with a certain expression for too long. He thinks it's Playing.

Jolteon ♂

Name: Fizz (Like Fizzle, which his energy never does)

Personality: Excitable, Full of Energy, Very Friendly

Other: Fizz will actively run up to people and pokemon to say hi, especially if they are/have electric types. He won't zap you on purpose, but if he gets Too excited, he becomes very staticy.

Flareon ♂

Name: Winnie (because he's a Weenie [affectionate])

Personality: Mildly Aggressive, Kinda Dumb, A Lap Veevee

Other: Winnie is a yappy boy. He will yell at things he sees as threats, which is most things. Even his own reflection. He's mainly just calm around Penny and the other Veevees. If he stops yelling and instead makes his way onto your lap, you know he likes you and considers you a friend. The best way to get him to stop yelling, Penny has found, is to hold him in her lap and cover his eyes until he settles down.

Leafeon ♀

Name: Bean (short for Vanilla Bean, a Sweet but difficult crop)

Personality: Aloof, Loner, Charming

Other: Bean likes to be on her own. She won't complain if someone sits by her when she's loafing, but given the choice, she'll be by herself. At least most of the time. Whenever she wants attention, she's very good at charming anyone around her to give her praise and pets with her Baby-Doll Eyes and her pitiful cries. She knows what she's doing.

Sylveon ♀

Name: Veenus (like Veevees)

Personality: Calm, Patient, Huggable

Other: Veenus was the first Eevee Penny ever had. She's been with her for a very long time, since even before she started her transition. She was always there as emotional support and would snuggle up to her whenever Penny needed. While Oscar is in tune with Penny's emotions, it's nowhere near the level of Veenus, simply from experience.

Eevee ♀

Name: Gracia (Like Gracias because thankful little girl)

Personality: Curious, Adventurous, Sweetie

Other: Gracia is the newest addition to the family. She loves exploring everything around her which can and has gotten her stuck in places she shouldn't be. And every time she's rescued, she's so very grateful, she will give licks and nuzzles and show her gratitude with affection.

"Using people for your own purposes is just as bad as using pokemon the same way." She frowned, brow furrowed at the thought. "I'm glad he was thwarted. No one deserves to be forced into causing harm based off an ideal."

Things could have a funny way of working out. If Celeste was going into Area Zero, then whoever else went was in good hands, as long as nothing really bad or out of anyone's control happened. Which was a scary thought and maybe Penny shouldn't be spooking herself like that before anything even happened.

Penny nodded with a sense of determination. "You can count on me! I'll keep an eye on things and let you know what I find." Hopefully it would be normal or mild or anything that wouldn't indicate something dangerous when the time came. "Just... Be careful going down there when things are uncertain."

"Oh... That does seem... Not good. Restless energy... I wonder if that's because it's trying to reach out to the other crystals so far away. I don't know what that would mean though. Other than possibly terastalization would be available elsewhere. Which is where the concern comes in. They used terastalization pretty freely throughout Paldea, but the energy source had existed for so long that it wasn't a concern. Would it really be able to power crystals as far away as Kitakami, or Unova? And if it does, what would that mean for both the region getting the energy and Paldea. What would happen with the Paradox pokemon? There were so many mysteries and moving pieces to this issue that it would be hard to theorize how Anything would react.

Penny blinked at the revelation. "Oh, really? I can understand where her curiosity came from then, but then she should know its still unknown what meddling with it could do. I agree you should go with her. As one of the only modern people to have been down there, that alone should make you qualified to join."

This whole thing was a worrisome mess with so many multiple unknowns. "I wish I could go with you, but I'm not sure I would get a free pass to go, since they want to limit how many people would go at one time with how regulated it is. And there's no signal down there, as we know."

Penny didn't shrink away when the guy got in her face. Yes, she did feel increasingly uncomfortable, and her Umbreon could sense it and stuck close to her. She balled her fist and let out a quick breath.

"No, I'm not her. That was Eri." Eri certainly had a more intimidating aura and would be taken more seriously in situations like this. But Eri wasn't here and Penny was going to do her duty as Team Leader and get a formal apology from the one who caused the problems.

"I am Team Star's leader. Cassiopeia. Jet apologised for your behavior, but I think we deserve one from you too." It was sheer luck that her voice didn't waver as she spoke because she certainly felt nervous enough to.

Well, with an answer like that, it was obvious that this was, in fact, Rin. And that it was possible that he was getting into other trouble, if he was mentioning the hospital and the government. Fortunately she was none of what he mentioned and she wasn't going to just walk away now. At least the guy could appreciate a good veevee when he saw one. Umbreon was still on the defensive, but relaxed just a little at the compliment.

"I guess, fortunately, I am not affiliated with any of those things. No. Uhm. Actually I. You, uh. You attacked a Team Star base and your leader apologised for you. And while I appreciate what he was doing, I uh. Demand an apology from you as well." Eri wasn't there, so really she was the only one who would be hearing the apology. But also she didn't actually.... Think she would get one. Her voice faltered and didn't hold anywhere near the level of confidence it would probably take to make this guy take her seriously. What was she doing, really?

"That's a good philosophy to have. I know some people who thrive on battles. I know others where that's not their priority at all. Having those options seem like a good idea. Pokemon journeys should be about growing and learning with your pokemon." That was something she was working on herself, after all. Having been cooped up for so long, she hadn't really given her veevees the ability to explore and she felt guilty for it. That's why she had to make it up to them now.

Penny frowned, looking over the extensive notes that now filled the notebook. It seemed irresponsible for them to get her to collect all this data and then not use it to warn other people away from attempting to using Terastalization in other regions. And hearing Celeste's concerns about even going on that field trip to begin with made her feel sad. It was supposed to be a fun trip, even if she ended up finding out something concerning.

"Even if for some reason you were chosen to go so you could find this out, I don't think you going was a mistake. It's not like someone else was going to go and then weren't allowed so you could go instead. And maybe it was because of everything you've done. but what you've done is important and you deserved a break after everything... Even if it turned out to not be as much of a break as you needed..."

Penny sighed a little and leaned against Celeste. "It's important that you found this out. You understood what it meant probably better than anyone. I don't know if speaking to Geeta will help, if she'll reach out to Ms. Briar and tell her off from using the crystals. But you have this information and I don't think anyone could fault you for telling Ms. Briar what you know regardless. Maybe if she actually understood what it meant, she wouldn't go through with whatever she may have planned."

"...And you mentioned that the crystals in Area Zero are acting different? In what way...?" Maybe they were resonating with crystals in other regions? Or maybe something else was happening? It was hard to know.
