It couldn’t have more than a couple of hours since he got locked up in this weird looking place, a place he had never been in before. Will either stayed at home or went to his job as a barista. He didn’t really go out much, mainly because he didn’t like being outside. And now that he remembered where he was from originally, he really didn’t want to go outside. Sighing as he looked out the window, he frowned a little. “This is such a nightmare” he whispered.

someone without the trauma background that amanda held might’ve walked away. they might’ve shrugged their shoulders and given the other none of their time and energy. and perhaps that’s what amanda s h o u l d ‘ v e done. but she often didn’t have the skill of self-control. and mindy was a s k i n g for it at this point. because words cut amanda deeply. she’d escape her traps a thousand times, well that was an exaggeration but the point was sound, before she’d elect to be t a u n t e d. the female’s mocking tone only caused painful memories to resurface for amanda. she could hear john’s voice ringing between her ears. she could hear him from the makeshift hospital room telling dr. denlon that amanda was the closest that he’d ever come to a connection, to being understood. but that her EMOTION was also her w e a k n e s s. and the accomplice hated that he was right. she hated that she couldn’t disconnect like hoffman or lawrence could. she hated that she m o u r n e d every person that she killed, with either nightmares or self-harm wounds. or BOTH. she hated that she couldn’t get the sound of adam’s neck s n a p p i n g against the porcelain toilet out of her brain. she could still hear him gasping for life, fighting for it, despite the physical toll that starvation and sepsis had begun to have on him. and while amanda typically felt for c h i l d r e n, mindy had gone too far. and her teenagehood wouldn’t protect her now. “if i were you…” amanda hissed slowly, getting closer to the girl and leaning towards her. “i’d shut your mouth now because you’re already behind.” black hues flickered across mindy’s face. amanda had better see c o o p e r a t i o n there in her features. “and if you don’t shut the f u c k up,” she concluded with a small upturn of her lips. “… then you’re going to have more than your f e e l i n g s hurt.” 

        for a moment , mindy remains quiet , allowing the other to finish speaking her mind. it’s only when the pause is apparent , when the threat is clearly given in its entirety , that the teen allows the smug smile to pull at the corner of her lips. ❝  well , looks like you actually have some  B A L L S . really fooled me.  ❞ less than a minute ago , the other had been silent. yet now , as though a switch had been flipped , hostility seems to have risen from whatever boils within the older individual. the blonde decides that the other would probably appear to be quite intimidating to anyone else. but , unfortunately for anyone hoping to see even a slight hint of fear , she’s mindy macready. she’s motherfucking HIT GIRL. she knows how to defend herself , how to fight ,  &  she’s pretty damn good at it. she has literally killed dozens of men in her short lifetime , many of which she’s taken on her own without assistance. so daddy -- wherever he is at this very moment , whether it be  h e a v e n  o r  h e l l  -- would be rather disappointed to see her flinch in the face of a fairly plain individual. SHIT , she’d be disappointed herself.  which is why she doesn’t take even the tiniest step back , despite the simple discomfort of being in close proximity of another. ❝  i know some guys who would be pretty fuckin’ jealous ,  ❞ she continues her line of thought , continuing to taunt without  fail . she’s always up for a  C H A L L E N G E  , after all. so while she usually considers herself a hero , if it were to come down to it , she’s not gonna turn away from a physical fight. really , if the other throws the first punch , then she can justify it as being merely self defense anyways. ❝  but , just so you know , mine are bigger.  ❞

        a good workout is almost always enough to get mindy out of her own head. though it’s been weeks since she’s donned her HIT GIRL costume , she can’t afford any distractions , just in case something comes up. because whenever she allows herself to  f e e l  , she makes stupid mistakes  &  in the case of a confrontation , it could very well lead to her death. so , the teen trains daily , frequenting a local boxing gym. there are very few things in this world that are more satisfying than watching the smug look being wiped off of a grown man’s face when she completely DESTROYS him  &  his ego in a sparring match. her small figure  &  young age often leave her underestimated , which she supposes that she sometimes uses as an advantage. but it also means that she appears vulnerable to some of the more shady residents of the city , those that want to  R O B  a young girl of her lunch money -- or something. which is why when she has the feeling that someone is following her , she automatically goes on defense. it takes a lot for her to not immediately move to immobilize the man , to not completely jump to conclusions. she does , however , whip around to face him , her butterfly knife ( the one she got from daddy on her thirteenth birthday ) out  &  flipped open in just a fraction of a second. the blade , unwavering , just a small distance from the other’s neck. ❝  who the  h e l l  are you  &  why the  F U C K  are you following me  ?  ❞

it took a t r e m e n d o u s amount of focused dedication for amanda to refrain from swearing right back at the other female. to prevent her shoulders from QUAKING, and to stop herself from gripping the other’s throat and squeezing to make her s h u t  u p. amanda could spit p o i s o n too, and the biggest part of her wanted to do that. to show no mercy, to defend herself. to insist through action that she couldn’t and wouldn’t be treated like shit just because another person was having a hard time. they all couldn’t reach their loved ones. and amanda didn’t have any of those to b e g i n with. she didn’t have a single person in the world who she could rely on or trust. that person had been john, but her perception had been a bait and switch. it had been a m i r a g e, and nothing more. and the female was only just beginning to understand that. and so when mindy snapped at her, amanda bit the inside of her lower lip to prevent herself from r e t a l i a t i n g as she felt so inclined to do. and instead, amanda watched her with dark, blank eyes, her head slightly tilted. and she’d wait for mindy to be the one to continue their dialogue, if she even chose to. amanda wouldn’t open her mouth, and she sure as hell wouldn’t a p o l o g i z e for someone else’s outburst. so instead, she remained silent and watched mindy. that was all. and she’d wait to respond until she felt like the time was right. 

        silence . . . a brief moment of time passes before mindy realizes that she’s not going to get a response. she scoffs , an expression of her disbelief. un-FUCKING-believable. clearly , her conversation ( or lack thereof ) had been none of the other’s business. so , she  s n a p s  &  now . . . what  ?  this grown ass woman is going to throw a fit  &  seemingly give her the silent treatment  ?  it’s really quite frustrating , feeling as though SHE’S being made out as ‘ the bad guy ‘ in this situation. frustrating  &  ridiculous. ❝  what , did i hurt your poor feelings  ?  ❞ her tone is clearly  m o c k i n g  , emphasized by the humorless chuckle that follows the snide words. the teen’s reaction is admittedly petty  &  unnecessary , she knows this. but , she also knows that she doesn’t care regardless. not when she feels like the behavior is well-deserved. ❝  listen ( since you’re apparently too stupid to have common sense ) : if you were supposed to know what i was arguing about , you wouldn’t need to ask. you would already know. but , as i’ve already said , it’s none of your  D A M N  business. so , don’t worry about it  & start acting your age. jesus.  ❞

she’d heard the other raise their voice. and she couldn’t tell from her removed distance whether or not they’d been speaking to someone in person, or if they’d been quarreling over the phone. and it wasn’t that amanda particularly cared, but she’d been in that situation before. and it wasn’t a pleasant one. “sucks,” the petite woman reflected as she moved closer, black eyes flitting to look at the person’s face more closely. if a third person had been present, they weren’t there anymore.  “being angry at someone.” or worse, someone being angry at y o u. the woman paused in her speech for several seconds before she decided to ask, “what were you arguing about?” 

        unaware that she isn’t completely alone , mindy shouts a string of curse words at her cell phone , frustrated at its inability to reach dave back in new york. she isn’t sure if the number she had found for him is outdated or if service is simply that bad or what , but she had really been HOPING to get in contact with him. she isn’t sure of the exact details , but she caught wind of some shit that’s supposed to go down in staten island  &  she’d wanted to let her former ally know to try  &  stop it since she can’t get to the city herself. no such luck however ,  &  to make matters worse , she soon hears footsteps approaching from behind. feeling both embarrassed  &  angry , she whips around to face the other , her voice  d r i p p i n g  with hostility as she responds to the registered question. ❝  i don’t really think that’s any of your FUCKING business.  ❞
