Rating: T Summary: Kawaki notices how Sasuke Uchiha acts around him and becomes curious (and a tad worried). Boruto tells him the dangers of being a boy and friends with the Uchiha's little girl.

With a frown on his face and his fists jammed into his pockets, Kawaki mumbled something almost unintelligible but most likely vulgar under his breath. Boruto glanced up from his video game scroll with a quirked eyebrow. "What's the matter with you now?" he asked. Kawaki looked to his side. "That dark looking man, Sarada's father." he grumbled. Boruto sighed. "Mr. Sasuke." Kawaki's frown deepened at hearing the man's name. "I don't get what his problem is." he said. "Don't worry 'bout that. He's like that with everyone. Well, almost everyone. Sarada and Mrs. Sakura are exceptions. But, aside from them, he's a grumpy guy with everyone else." Boruto said with an eyeroll. He glanced at Kawaki. "I thought you'd understand that." he added with smugness in his tone. Kawaki glared at him and scoffed. "Well, he seems to have a particular issue with me. He's always giving me these menacing looks and gets this ice cold attitude when he speaks to me. I don't even know what I did to piss him off this much." Boruto stopped and paused his game. "This, uh...this wouldn't happen to mostly happen when you're hanging with Sarada, would it?" Kawaki blinked. "Yeah. As a matter of fact, he seems like he wants to kill me when he finds me and Sarada together." he said. Silence hung in the air for a couple of moments. Boruto placed his hand on Kawaki's shoulder, which earned him a strange look from the multi-colored haired boy. "Kawaki, it might be because he thinks your her boyfriend." Boruto explained slowly. What? Kawaki nearly exclaimed. "What? I'm not her boyfriend." he stated flat out. Boruto only shook his head. "Doesn't matter. Mr. Sasuke thinks you're her boyfriend or trying to be. Either way, he definitely doesn't like you for that." he waved his hand at him. Kawaki felt an urge to smack the kid upside his blonde, spiky head. Boruto carried on regardless. "Look, the man is one of those guys who are super protective of their daughters, especially when it comes to boys, mostly the ones their daughters hang around with. Trust me. I know this for a fact. Mr. Sasuke has treated me the same way. If I touched Sarada in the most innocent way possible, he'd act like I was trying to cop a feel on her." Kawaki didn't pay much attention to what his adoptive brot- I mean, roommate- was saying. He figured he had to be exaggerating at least a little bit. But, at the same time, he couldn't help but remember the deadly glares the Shadow Kage shot at him and the laser focused stares he found himself on the receiving end of when he and Sarada would spend time at her house. Kawaki wasn't one to be intimidated easily, but there was something about the way Sarada's father acted around him that made the boy become more alert and almost on edge. This was clearly a man not to be trifled with, he knew that. "So what do I do, huh? Go up to him and tell him that there's nothing going on between me and Sarada?" Kawaki said. "You could try that, but that might not be enough to convince him." Boruto shook his head. Kawaki let out an exasperated huff and pinched the bridge of his nose out of frustration. Suddenly, a large grin formed on Boruto's face and he laughed. "But there's good news to this." "And that good news would be what?" "Mr. Sasuke is finally gonna back off of me now because he thinks you're Sarada's boyfriend, not me." Boruto almost cheered. Yup, Kawaki definitely wanted to smack the little shit silly. "How's that good news for me?" he barked. Boruto looked up and down at Kawaki and pursed his mouth. "It's not, it's really not. If anything, I give you my condolences." If looks could kill, Boruto would be a pile of ashes from the look Kawaki gave him at that moment. At the same time, a tiny nagging voice in the back of Kawaki's mind couldn't help but wonder: if this is how Sarada's father acted when

they were simply good friends, how would he act if Kawaki did try to make a move on Sarada? The adolescent boy made a mental note to ask Sarada about her father's skillset and try training a little more in preparation in case that came to be.
