An old childhood memory of mine popped up in conversation recently and I just gotta share how hilarious it is. So when I was 8 I had a very bad ear infection that needed to be fixed with surgery and my doctor put me on steroids to reduce the swelling enough to where he can do the surgery but I was terrified of the steroids because of Jim Carrey. Me and my Latin mixed mom liked to watch the Spanish channel on TV (we both agreed it's easier to learn than our mother tongue of Italian because the Italian language changes in literally every town in Italy) and there was a variety show in English on the channel called In Living Color which was basically SNL but was on during weekdays, would do a ton of cross dressing, and focused more on mini series rather than just skits and Jim Carrey was on the show. And the reason he made me fear steroids is because one of the series he was in for the show was Vera De Milo. The synopsis of the series is a little girl took steroids in order to become a body builder and Jim Carrey would play this ten year old body builder so basically he was in drag. My little 8 year old brain thought that if I took steroids I was gonna turn out like this:

In hindsight that is pretty hilarious but it was a genuine fear I had as a child. 😂
