Charlotte & Jasper’s relationship was strained because she was afraid of him & Jasper did not understand Peter’s ability to care for someone without fear as the root cause. After Charlotte saw Jasper with Alice, she she saw Peter & Jasper’s similarities much better. The same things happened when Jasper saw Charlotte interacting with Alice, whom he now cared for fearlessly. Charlotte calls Alice to tell her they are coming to town even though she knows Alice can see them traveling. They go bowling together at night because there are no people there & it never fails to make them laugh. Charlotte & Peter give them relationship advice. Alice was the first person to call Charlotte “Char” & Charlotte in turn began calling Alice “Ali”. Peter was the person to convince Jasper that He could take Alice dancing without worrying about slipping up. Alice was so thrilled when Rose met Charlotte so they could both take her shopping for durable traveling clothes. Esme has offered Peter & Charlotte a permanent place to stay & has told them she considers them family. Charlotte sends the Cullen family postcards from interesting places & Peter calls Jasper about low-traffic vacation places to go to with Alice.

You know, if you reread Twilight you realize that Bella was a nice little lovebug who only wanted sunny weather and for Mike Newton to stop bothering her.  She enjoyed the attention from the good looking boy in her bio class and made meals for her out-of-touch but also nice dad.  I forget why she is so hated… oh right, because teenage girls are worthless and so are the things they care about.  I hate that.  I hate that for young women.

I can’t stop thinking about how people consider Rose shallow when she, after a breather, helped her brother risk everything for who he loved.  Then she was willing to risk being seen for who she really was & told Bella about her trauma in the hopes that it might help her understand another important perspective on vampirism, a completely irreversible & life altering decision.  Then Rose honored Bella’s wishes about her baby when no one else did.  Rosalie Hale is shallow because she likes how she looks? The nerve.

i still don’t understand why recovery isn’t romanticized more. getting better after being at your lowest point? working hard and doing what it takes to feel safe again? knowing that occasional dips aren’t the end of the world? changing yourself and ridding your life of toxic behavior/people? i’m sorry that sounds better than any edgy miserable story i’ve ever heard.
