To look at and to listen to is one things, something that would click immediately within your mind if you had seen it- however, to feel it is something you weren't fully aware you could do. Small taps on your thigh when you would be sitting next to him in the mess hall, laughing to one of Johnny's absurd jokes. Feeling the dashes on the palm of your hand as you walked through the corridors on slow nights.

Sure you had always known that the Simon Riley had a hard time saying things, he was a flirt to the random girls at the bar but to the people he truly cared about; it was like stumbling through a sentence was the easiest thing for him. So you had resigned to accept his nonverbal acts of affection. Allowing yourself to be content with soft kisses in lieu of words.

It wasn't that he was unaffectionate, quite the opposite, it was that he couldn't show it how he so deeply wanted to. The words would get caught in his throat and they would come out a half kidding banter, like a dig into the psyche. All the same, what he felt for you was something so deep and profound that not even he could dare put it into words. So he would maybe whisper them against your skin when he knew you were too asleep to even know he was awake, he would let his touch linger.

You didn't think much of the taps, you summed it up to a nervous tic, or maybe something he found comforting. After all, since before you had been dating you always knew he liked to be moving some part of his body, if it be rubbing that frayed edge of his jacket or lightly tapping the palm of your hand.

It didn't click, how he would climb into bed after a long day and how his hand would almost mindlessly move on its own, tapping the skin of your hip as he tried to squeeze into you as if you would vanish if he didn't. You didn't realize the important of the faint kisses on the nape of your neck and how they were oh so perfectly timed to be some sort of code.

Until it was a code.

You look to Johnny from where you were currently desperately trying to fix the radio, the thick smog limiting your sight and the burn of the gas in your lungs making it hard to breathe. With a heaved breath you push yourself up to stand and then sink back to your knees where Johnny had been trying to see if the truck's radio worked- a mission gone south left you and heseparatedd from Simon, leaving him in the building.

It was silent until the beeping came over the radio and it...felt sofamiliarr yet you couldn't place your hand on it, it was like a deja-vu feeling within your gut- "It's morse code- God, I forgot that was still a thing."

Johnny looks up at you and then gives you a weak laugh, "Yea, hol' on," as he spoke he took out a pen and paper and began to scribble down the dashes and lines.

"Think it's him?"

"He's tha' only un' tha' knows it."

"Johnny?" It had taken the man a few seconds to write down the repeating message, then a few more to translate it.

"Johnny is it him? Is he okay?"

There was no silence, the hiss of the storm raging outside and the faint roar of gunfire from the battle you had just been ordered to flee. Yet everything was so slow, he wasn't speaking, he looked almost sorrowful.

Specifically any living things like plants...

Just know it's okay if the new leaf growing on your plant looks like it oozes viscera after a certain hour. Ignore if the bare spot where the trimmed branches or leaves once were seem like eyes after dark. Don't worry if the plants always appear in the windowsills whenever the moon is over half full. It's all perfectly fine! Just... Part of the experience :D

Idk what variant of Christianity I follow, I know Baptist, my best friend was Catholic though and I went to those churches sometimes, but there are so many religions that praise the same God I believe in so idk what to call myself

I wanna know the different Christian religions and how they worship, maybe I'll find one I fit with more tbh. What I do know is modern western Christianity is overrun with power hungry immoral folks who go to church to say they do and feel better but don't follow the actual rules of the religion being:

A. Jesus said, love your neighbor as I have loved you. I always felt that was more definitive than love your neighbor as you love thyself tbh

B. Believe in God

C. Try to be good. Try to be kind to the people around you, be helpful, be open, and remember your maker

I just try and follow that tbh

Obviously you don't have to be religious to be on this blog, this place is welcoming to everyone as long as we are all playing nice etc 👍

Folks, I love Nyx the residential bunny-boy. I need to take a break from him though, I haven't written a proper story with him despite how many ask I've gone through on his character and world, and it's getting to the point I don't wanna resent my lil guy

I love the world building but when almost everything is about one character I get a little dull on it and I wanna put out my better quality writing than I have with him

So no more Nyx temporarily. I'll be ready to go on about him soon enough again 👍

I HAD A VISION

Imagine some kind of human artist 🎨, and get suddenly inspire to paint something akin to a tattoo on Ofius skin, would he let them?

He would do anything for you, anything to keep a symbol of you close at all times

Please paint something on him. The giant is impressive with how much he can resemble a mountain. He can be massive, looming, imposing, and still as stone for hours should you request it

You'll have to paint something big!

He'll collect the materials, plants, fruits, clay, stones, squid ink, anything to offer pigmentation you want and as much as you need. Just make it big enough he can see each little detail please??

He'll stare in muted wonder for hours as you work and then hours after, wanting to run his hands over the lovingly crafted colors and shapes that you made for him he'll near cry but will manage to stop himself and scoop you up into his palms, raising you up to his face and pressing one kiss after another across your tiny form. Mumbled appreciations expressed again and again.

You'll be sleeping later that night on his chest and he'll still be holding his arm up to stare at the shapes and colors with a soft smile, pressing a far gentler kiss to the top of your head then the patch of skin on his arm you painted before finally going to sleep.

It will be something he request you do again and again, be warned

How would I feed my house? Or know it's favorite food? On that thought, what repairs could be done to make everyone happier? Ease changes done to it in the past?

This!! Ok, so-

The house doesn't eat food... It will eat bodies if they're available or if the house feels threatened by someone

It eats emotions. That's why new people are still invited to move in again and again.

The issue is it reacts to the emotions. If someone malicious moved in, it would start to behave the same way. That can get very bad very quickly.

If someone moved in that cared about the house, was happy there (like the reader character in the Your House series) it would react accordingly and brighten itself substantially

Just care about it, clean up the centuries old dust and you'll find the house helping you. If there's a spot too high up, there's a step ladder behind you. If there's a light that just won't fix, there's a new bulb in it tomorrow

Doors will open for you, objects will move to help you. Just gotta care

Also it's one of those things where the Patriarch is the house but is his own separate thing and the house is the Patriarch but is its own separate thing but the cannot exist without the other either👀

They're usually stiff enough to sit upright... But any movement and they'll sway with the motion. If he jumps hard enough there's a 'thwap' of them smacking his head mid flop

I'd say it's like someone playing with human ears. It wouldn't hurt, it might actually feel nice

As far as if he'd let you. Yes.

Grooming is a social activity, play with his ears, fluff his tail, help groom him please it's so. Hard for him to see all of the fur that needs brushing etc

Would do that thing where if you scratch the right spot he'll thump his hind paw against whatever is closest and make little huffs while leaning into your hands DO IT
