I'm sorry the who slept with whom rumours??? 😀 Because I'm very much a Måneskin and F1 fan but I don't usually use social media, so this post just slapped me in the face

Ah anon, let me introduce you to the wonderful world in which Charles Leclerc the Formula 1 Driver and Damiano David from Måneskin may know each other carnally, or at least, Charles has Damiano wrapped right around his pinky finger.

So it all begins at Monza 2023, where Damiano turns up in potentially one of the sluttiest outfits to ever see a grand prix, blushing and making eyes at Charles like any good Italian man would.

Fast forward about a week. Charles is hosting an event at the Monaco Yacht Club, and Måneskin come out and do a surprise set. After this, they all go back to the Sedici for an afters, and Damiano posts iconic footage of him shirtless on Charles' yacht wearing Charles' helmet with the caption "Thanks @charles_leclerc best gift ever. Lately I see u more that my mum😂".

Two months after all this Måneskin release a song called "The Driver", and uh, yeah. These are the lyrics:

Final nail in the coffin is about a month after that song comes out, Damiano gets a tattoo of a prancing horse on his v-line. Which would be explainable by Italian Stallion being a term for a handsome Italian dude, if not for the tattoo artist literally tagging Ferrari.....

Anyway, I'm just here to present the facts, you come to your own conclusions.

An interesting interaction all around, for sure.

Also, if it helps anyone, my interpretation of what Max meant is this: ‘yes we (Max and Checo) could have tried a one-stop, but it probably would have been a bit slower. Plus, you (Carlos) were struggling with tires, so there was no need to try a one-stop’

Perhaps I’m wrong, but that’s what I got from it. Regardless though, the whole interaction definitely read as a bit curt at best. Will be very interesting to see how the paddock atmosphere re: Sainz develops as we get further into the season. One would have thought a driver of his caliber would already have credible contract rumors of another team picking him up but… well.

Hii, while Max definitely is THE biggest carles leclerc fanboy on the grid, I don't see how the japan cooldown room was an example bc to me it seems like the clip was taken out of context. This is the full conversation they have

Carlos (to Max): you never thought of a one-stop?

Max: *shrugs* I mean we could have done it but it was for us probably a little bit slower. And you are just struggling with the tyres, you know what I mean?

I think he just meant you as general pronoun and not carlos struggling specifically? ig im just asking what ur thoughts are

He said “you know” and then walked away… so I wouldn’t say it was taken out of context.

I can see how you can argue whether Max and Checo meant to sound as flippant as some of us claim it was, but look at Max’s face and the deafening silence after Checo’s comment. Carlos did not want to hear that.

I can also see how some want to argue that, well, the rbr drivers aren’t even that into Charles and let’s not make everything about Charles! Except for we know that Max and the entire team always make it about Charles. In any interview or commentary, they’re going to bring up Ferrari and Charles explicitly, so let’s not pretend like he doesn’t live in their minds rent-free.

Again, something you could argue about depending on where you stand in this debate, but I would absolutely say that Carlos isn’t making himself popular amongst a certain crowd of drivers with his behaviour and that all of the artificial media hype won’t get him any respect from his peers, especially if it’s peers that rate Charles so highly.

I’m sure Max doesn’t mind Carlos and he’s happy to be superficially cordial / friendly with him at times, but I just don’t believe that he actually likes him very much / his attitude to racing in general.

But to stick to the facts here: it wouldn’t have made any sense for Max to use the “you” in this case if he didn’t actually mean Carlos. He switched from “we” to “you” while pointing at Carlos. From previous interviews and interactions we know that Max’s gestures are fairly indicative of what he means, so.
