After all this talk about Gabrily, some of you may be (rightfully) wondering when I will post the rest of Still insists she sees the ghosts.

So, in irl some shit went down, and I am trying to figure out some things (among them, if I am delulu enough to leave my job to start an author career), so I am pushing back the writing of Sisstg to a moment when I will have the mental peace to complete it properly.

At the same time, since I am a world champion of creating myself a problem that literally doesn’t exist, I am worried that when I will finally post the new chapters, it won't be at the height of your expectations and you would have "wasted" a lot of time waiting for a fic that ended up disappointing you.

But I promise that when I will feel better I will write the new chapters at the best of my skills, and I'll try to make the wait worth for it.

That's true, I'm honestly surprised because I don't get why someone could hate them that much when they have so little page time, and aren't involved in any love triangle

I think it’s mostly because Gabriel is the only character who calls out Will on his bullshit, so according to Will's stans he is inherently evil because they can’t fathom another reason why someone may not like him.

Anyway, better having less stans but good. I never heard of Gabriel’s stans making up headcanons about Will being racist or hiring strippers (the famous strippers of 1880s) for his bachelor party (the famous bachelor parties of 1880s), and I think this says much more about Gabriel’s haters than about Gabriel’s fans.

Understandable, but if you ever find inspo for something of this type of "victorian" tropes, it would be amazing, either when they meet or when they are together, I think Gabe and Cecy could rock this type of plots so used in romance books, no pressure or anything I just love the idea

Of course, if I shall ever have a "Victorian trope" plot for Gabrily that isn’t similar to anything I wrote already I will give it a shot ;)

were there other fics ideas that didn't make it for any random reason, and if so from which couple/character?

The Gracetopher I mention in that old post; it was supposed to be a mortal AU set in 1918/19 where Kit came back home to Grace and the kids after 4 years fighting in the WWI, it was supposed to be a fic about Kit having trouble readjusting to his life due to all the trauma he got in the war.

I discarded the idea because it would be too much research work for a fanfic, and also making it an original story would give me more freedom (like I wouldn’t have to explain why Gabriel didn’t go to war too when the MC can be an orphan).

Another idea I discarded was a Gabrily set in canon era and Shadow world where Edmund had so much debt that the only way he had to get out was marrying off Cecily, and one day a rich young man called Gabriel Lightwood showed up offering an embarrassing high dote for marrying Cecily for ✨️reasons✨️.

I discarded this idea because I thought I may repeat a lot of dynamics of How (not) to end a feud, so I passed this prompt to @livia-dovehallow to make whatever she wants with it.

Another idea was a Grishaverse fic set 200/300 years after canon, but with the divergence that after the finale of R&R not only Sun summmoners were created, but also Shadow Summoners appeared.

After 200 or 300 years, my OC1 (a woman) was a part of a Sun Summoner intelligence who hunt down Shadow Summoners, but when she arrested OC2 (another woman) something was supposed to happen between them.

As you can see this fic had so little references to canon that I can easily rework on it to make it an original sapphic romantasy set in a vaguely inspired NY from 1920s.

Gabriel: I don’t know why, but I can see his serenity song being Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie.

Cecily: in my headcanons, in a modern!AU she is a huge Queen fan and both in Bad Luck and Balance she will listen to them, so her serenity song could be Killer Queen.

Anna: in a modern!AU she would totally be into punk, her serenity song would be Holiday by Green Day.

Christopher: influenced by his sister, who got him into Green Day, Christopher's serenity song would be Basket case.

Grace: her serenity song would be I'm not calling you a liar by Florence and the Machine, no particular reason, just vibes.

Ari: same reason as Grace, totally random and by vibes, I think her serenity song would be Waterloo by ABBA.

I found this old post and I was like "What the fuck was I talking about? Which angst Gracetopher??" then I remembered it and I'm sorry to tell you you’ll never see it as a fanfic, but the file is actually sitting in my laptop waiting to become an original story.

I have had an idea for a very angsty Gracetopher, but I will need a lot of research prior writing and therefore I don't know when it will be available on Ao3.

Since this post is blowing up for some reason, I know it will probably reach the wrong part of the fandom so I think it’s best to clarify:

I'm not saying that Jesse had to forgive Grace straight away, but he should know best than anyone else how evil, rotten and abusive Tatiana is (literally at the end of ChoI he discovered that she is the reason why he died in the fist place and allowed his body to be possessed), so he shoud understand why Grace did the bracelet thing.

Instead he puts himself on this moral pedestal shunning Grace because she does the exact same thing his girlfriend does, but since Lucie is a Herondale he forgave her.

I totally agree, that line said by Jesse doesn’t make any sense because he never has any grey area. For him the world is either black or white and he will always choose the white side even if this means abandon his sister whitout even trying to understand why she did all those horrible things.
