dichotomous plants are so weird man. like they’re not even weird it’s the becoming the dichotomous that’s weird. i went to a talk once about a population of strawberries that were accidentally slowly becoming dichotomous and they didn’t even have sex chromosomes, like they had like a bunch of genes across a bunch of chromosomes that did a little bit of sex but not a lot and it added up to one whole sex kind of but not enough that they had all collectively decided to be one sex or the other, so there was still like, a sizable chunk of the population that was producing flowers of both sexes. like they were microdosing it. taking the sex genes for a spin in the strawberry patch

the ships that i don't like. other people might like them and that's okay but that fic's not for me, nope, sorry, bye.

C 9 - What show did you really try to watch, but you just couldn’t?

the good place on prime (or is it on netflix? i don't remember anymore). it just got so pretentious and boring.

C 10 - What book could you just never get into, no matter how hard you tried?

alice in wonderland. it just bored me to bits within the first few pages. the plot was weird and the characters felt listless.

last week, when i was looking for lotr fics, and found a couple nice ones to read when i get the time.

D 5 - How many authors are you subscribed to?

wait. lemme go and check my ao3. after an ao3 check - 8 authors for various fandoms, including lotr, the martian and avatar: the last airbender.

D 10 - What is one story idea you really want to read but no one has written yet?

it's very niche but a stormlight archives modern au where shallan, adolin and kaladin are all college friends. and the rest of the characters scattered here and there too!

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc? omg so many!! the one that comes to mind rn is eowyn's from lord of the rings. she goes from thinking of battle as the only worthy thing in life, to experiencing battle, and to realise that she can make a good difference in this world without battle too, and that there will be people who appreciate and value her for it.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

again, there are so many! but i want to make this lotr themed now, so mine would be legolas and gimli. it's so admirable the way they got over their prejudices for the other's race, and tried to understand instead of judge, and reached out halfway in their relationship. and the way legolas just brings gimli to valinor is just >>>>>

V - Which character do you relate to most?

hmm. probably merry. i would be the logistics person in the friend group, the one to keep the wild one in check, the one who disobeys orders to do what they feel is right, and the one who (hopefully) finds courage from thinking about their friends and wanting to help them.
