It's a toll free service with people who will help you find programs in your community to pay those bills, find food, and find housing! They will give you numbers to call so you can get help.

It is not 100% foolproof. Their job is to direct you to a program they believe will help your current issue, but it's still a step up from praying random strangers online will give you enough cash before a deadline! The added benefit of these community programs, which get funded by the local government most of the time, is if there are more people using them then they can get more money to help more people.

You're not taking resources from other people if you use your community services. Your taxes pay for them. Use them.

Regret was pointless.

He’d made his decision— he’d trust in Strawhat Luffy. He’d made his choice in the heat of the Dressrosa sun, inspired by Strawhat’s reckless bull-headed charge for Doflamingo’s seat of power. In a moment of faith, he’d thrown all in, bet his life and life’s purpose, spirit strangely lifted by Strawhat’s determination.

At some point, Law distantly knew it was over. A blur of pain and fatigue and overwhelming, unnamed emotions, crashing through him in towering waves until he went under, finally succumbing to much needed sleep. Exhaustion was the only sedative that could reliably send him under, always had been.

Then he woke and suddenly, it hit him— Doflamingo still lived.

The sick lurch nearly made him throw up when all the pain hadn’t.

Tsukishima isn’t meant to hear it, but he does. He pulls two men aside to warn them for being late, and as he is walking away, he hears one mutter, “that shitty wildcat, this is his fault”.

“Wildcat?” Tsukishima asks, because predatory animals near the camp are a significant concern.

“It’s nothing, sir,” Second Private Nikaido (he’s not sure which one) responds after a moment too long and a shared look with his brother. In hindsight, that look is why Tsukishima remembers.

All scholars of Ohara memorise via the method of loci, and Nico Robin, at eight years old, is no exception. Her favourite is a temple hewn from stone, a wise king’s magna opus as reconstructed from academic blueprints. There, she stores the lessons she learns: a kind elderly lady still calls for the marines in the night after she’s fed you; a knife in the hands of a frightened child can still slit a soldier’s throat; a powerful man is still not quite immune to the intrigue of a beautiful woman.

She drinks deeply from the cup of knowledge and suffering, and two pillars form in the forefront of the temple. The first is who she has always been—the pursuit of good things, knowledge for knowledge’s sake, building up, preserving, and leaving a legacy for all humanity. The other is who she discovered she was when the world government placed a bounty on her head—an immovable strength, manifesting in guile, bloodshed, and conquest.

Her surprise is only at how readily she accepts these as her foundation—the twin load-bearing columns of the woman she now is.
