i learned about Tim Wong who successfully and singlehandedly repopulated the rare California Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly in San Francisco. In the past few years, he’s cultivated more than 200 pipevine plants (their only food source) and gives thousands of caterpillars to his local Botanical Garden (x)

thinking about new york calling california goldie. and florida just goes up to new york to ask, "why do you call him 'goldie'? his hair and eyes are brown."

new york avoids florida's eyes as he responds with an air of aloofness, "because of the gold rush he had years back." it's a simple enough answer. but it's one florida isn't prepared to just accept.

"alaska had a gold rush too, you don't call him goldie."

as florida points this out, PA walks by with a smug look on his face.
