#animated #back in 2020 i met this guy on a now defunct app and he was like #really sexist and annoying and used to post pictures of himself at trump rallys #anyways this guy’s whole thing was how much he loved captain hook #his name was hook and he had learned how to draw in the style of the movie and posted like dozens and dozens of captain hook #drawings (honestly he was a pretty good artist) #i know he drew a lot of christian stuff but the thing that sticks out in my mind is #he used to draw a lot of ship art of smee and hook but because he was homophobic he would draw smee as a beautiful woman #once he hosted a profile picture contest so i drew him captain hook as a trans woman and put the trans flag in the background and #it won and he had it as his pfp for like 2 months lmao #anyways he would love this post #maybe one day he’ll be unrepressed enough to realize hes dumb in love with captain hook

i dunno i just think “you should not defend yourself when strangers on the internet are rude to you lest you look Insecure” is a very strange hill to die on and i think it kind of exemplifies how much damage the “whoever cares the least here wins the argument” mindset did. i don’t know why people on this website seem to think “don’t be rude to strangers on the internet just because you think they’re weird” is an unreasonable thing to ask of others
