my roman empire is Hawkins living his life in fear till the end and making "bad" decisions that would eventually keep him "safe" Because his fear has somewhere completely overtaken his life to the point that no amount of power he has or chases will free him from it and in fact puts him in a deeper spiral of fear. My roman empire is that Hawkins never had internal homophobia because he was never ashamed of who he is but instead it was the fear of the time that he lived in. His fear helped him cope with his childhood trauma but eventually engulfed him despite him being one of the ONLY characters who said that he wants 'complete personal freedom' and him being the ONLY character who never got it throughout the series because of his fear. His fear trapped him, he ended up caging himself while others chose to set themselves free. And yes, it took him Tim's death to finally let go of that fear but what matters is, in the end, he freed himself. That's my roman empire.

I feel like people keep missing the point. This is MY opinion on the movie. I do not mind whatever your opinion is. Consumption of media is your own personal choice. I compared FT to RWRB only on the basis of chemistry. The genres are completely different and also the fact that one is a movie and the other is a series but that doesn't mean the chemistry can't be compared. In fact, RWRB being a pure romcom, should have had a good chemistry, if not great, as compared to FT which has multiple plot points around it and does not just involve the couple itself.

I think I saw Red White And Royal Blue from a film perspective. I honestly found the movie mediocre and I genuinely don't understand the hype of the movie, like the chemistry is okayish not so commendable. The actors were good but I found Nicolas' acting much better than Taylor's. I felt he had much more emotions than Taylor had. I also thought that Alex was going to bottom but eh. If you really want to watch homosexual romance then please watch something better, watch fellow travelers. Thats what chemistry actually fucking means.

I want to rant so badly about full volume so I'm gonna do just that—

Spoiler alert in case anyone is not updated.

When i first started to read full volume i honestly loved Dowon's character so much, like i loved him till the end of dowon and Beom's story. But since Dojin's arc started, i can't help but love Dojin more than Dowon. Like when Dojin was first introduced in the story i was really looking forward for his arc and i so satisfied with his story for some reason. Like sure there is a lot of sex but more than that it feels that both Taeju and especially Dojin have more character depth than Beom and Dowon had in their entire span of series. Dojin's personality is so damn charming and the fact that he was in love with Taeju since he was 3 years makes me feel so damn fuzzy in the heart for some reason. And his recent chapter's monologue just makes me fall in love with him even more. And I feel Dowon and Beom didn't do shit in all these 76 chapters compared to Taeju and Dojin who barely have by far 21 chapters. Like something about Dojin and Taeju feels so pure and deep and passionate that i am really unable to explain.

P.s Taeju is so fucking cute like so damn cute.

Shiki might be one of the most terribly underrated anime out there and i have only truly seen people talk about the art style but nothing really more.

I watched shiki way back as a 15 year old and watching it again now it still somehow manages to make my chest tighten up, the only difference is, i seem to understand and look deeper into the anime and the concept of potential "good" and "evil" but how at the end it's just grey. This is something i personally feel AOT tried to achieve but majority of the people couldn't grasp and i also understand why they couldn't. It's because one side is shown/presented more to the audience because of which the audience is more comfortable with the characters portraying that particular side. Introducing the other side of the story later really doesn't come to the favor of the story later. And I don't blame the audience but i don't blame isayama either, the story is complex afterall.

But Shiki on the other hand manages to deliver it so brilliantly within the span of 22 episodes. I feel like for me the breaking point really comes in episode 13 when Dr.Ozaki outright tortures his dead wife now turned shiki, Kyoko only to know the solution about the situation. That's the dividing point of the series. Was ozaki cruel? Definitely. But did he do it to save people? Yes. It's this crucial point where you really don't know if you can justify his actions and the same goes for Muroi especially because he is a saint.

Another thing that i genuinely like about Shiki is that there is no particular "main character" in the series. Everyone is important, somewhere or the other. Take Nao for an example, one of the most insignificant characters initially but god her scenes later on where just— i don't have the words to explain.

I feel like Shiki is an anime everyone should watch at least once in their life. The art, the story, the characters, the setting and the bgm is just amazing in my opinion. The only drawback i particularly feel is the abrupt editing/cutting between the scenes.

Also Dr Ozaki will truly remain one of my all time favourite characters out there. His sense of humanity leaving to actually save humanity in just one episode will always make him an S tier character for me.
