This quote always comes to my mind while thinking about Lockwood's journey. He was sure he's gonna die young, accepted it, and decided to burn as bright as he could, not expecting anything anymore, because his soul was slowly fading.

revenge of others (2022)

ok chanmi discovers her brother, from whom she was separated from as a child, has died under mysterious circumstances. determined to find out the truth, she moves to seoul and meets ji sooheon, a masked ‘hero’ who enacts revenge on bullies. the body count continues to rise.

12 episodes - revenge thriller

as with most mystery/revenge kdramas, this is best in the first third of episodes, with the plot advancing at a satisfying pace and plenty of twists to keep you engaged. it suffers from overstuffing its plot, which leaves the last two episodes racing to catch up with all of the reveals. the performances are solid from all three leads, with shin yeeun proving she can go from school girl psychopath (the glory) to an introverted vigilante without breaking a sweat. park solomon’s puppy eyes and convincing cry face make him easy to root for, but it’s second male lead seo jihoon that steals every scene he’s in as the tortured rich kid with no memory of his past. overall, it’s a good time, if not a bit too reliant on last minute gotchas and weak explanations for character’s behavior. it’s hard to watch revenge dramas after the glory, because it’s hard to compete with perfection.
