as newspapers today dont tend to hire children, a modern day Tintin would run a clickbait YouTube channel, except the clickbait is 100% real every single time

he starts off as an irritating conservative pundit at 14, meets Chang then leaves the think tank paying him and launches his own independent channel and blows up shortly after. Chang helps with video editing and managing his socials and they often chat on video calls between adventures. Haddock, his foster dad, has absolutely no knowledge of his earlier videos.

So my thoughts (as someone who has not seen Death Note) is that Johnny would not solve the case but he could survive. He's survived worse and killed gods. He could take on a teenager. However, sleuthing is not his main skill (points at his solo movie or the number of times he's joined a death tournament by accident).

I feel he'd do his best if a more competent character points him in the right direction to Kira

Okay but I like the fact that there is supposedly no legal precedent for "a wrongly appointed Prime" yet there is a sentence already in place for "stealing the Primacy". Like, surely if the latter exists the other exists.

It honestly suggests to me that in the past Primes have been appointed which the senate finds undesirable, and they've been using this law to have them swiftly removed and out of the way. Also that any records of this have been either purged or hidden. Sure would be interesting for Ultra Magnus to find some of these and end up using them as evidence to win the case.

(He does not seem a gentle sort.) And, unfortunately, Ultra Magnus believes him, too, when he says: "Know this: if you fail, it will be war."

You do need sleep and rest. Writing is fun and you shouldn't have to sacrifice yourself for that.

Also I just remembered an anecdote from a speaker at my uni: she was interviewing some writer for a magazine and he spun this thing about how he'd wake up at 6, do a run and then get straight to writing. She was impressed at the dedication of that cos she knew she could never wake up at that time. On the last day she had to catch a flight home so it was the one day she was actually up at 6. I remember her saying she tried to catch him in his morning routine, then found him asleep at his desk. It was all lies.

Also I feel like I just have to add this text I saw from another post cos I feel that kinda sums up where this whole hustle culture/grindcore mindset actually leads.

I don't know what tenth circle of hell my YouTube algorithm fell into, but I really wish it would stop showing me videos of 5 a.m. morning writing routines.

So today I got a rather unkind comment on AO3 (one could call it hate), but I believe it to be a bot for several reasons:

Guest account, but username attached

Said username exists but person is unlikely to be reading Tolkien fic (according to their Tumblr and AO3, they are in other fandoms)

Two grammatically correct sentences

Super generic text that could apply to any fic:

"I've seen better fanfiction written by a toddler. Get it together!"

I'm curious, did anyone else get comments like this? Let me know.

And to those who have gotten rude comments and are now worried/upset: Maybe it was just a bot too. Either way: You're awesome for putting your writing out there for others to enjoy and you don't deserve to get rude comments for it. If you want feel free to message me to compare cases and discuss details :)
