Hi everyone! Recently I had the chance to work on an illustration that will be the cover art for a poem collection called “Pluto” written by Frankie Sims.

Working on this piece was both fun and challenging due to a tight deadline and an abundance of ideas to choose from (and I’m a really indecisive person! 😆) Although the author knew what emotions they would like to portray through the cover illustration, I was given the artistic freedom to come up with my own suggestions for how it could be translated into art. Many sketches and drafts later we ended up with the picture that you can see above! ☺️🫶

This was completely unintentional, but while drawing the illustration with the character lying in the field, I realised that it could actually be the same person as the one in the first illustration 🤔

Maybe in picture #1 the character is a girl and in picture #2 it’s the same person as an adult. What do you think? 👀
