Been playing a lil' bit of Rebirth and found this in my drafts - dunno if I'll continue it but throwing it out into the world. Sephiroth x female reader (reader is President Shinra's daughter, no spoilers for Rebirth, just your average Sephiroth lore)
Tumblr media
You wake up with a start as your book hits the floor with a thud. You’d fallen asleep on the sofa, reading. The only recreational activity you’re permitted these days.
“Hello, little one.”
You must be dreaming. You have to be, because you haven’t heard his voice in five years.
Not since he'd left on a mission - an awkward goodbye on your part at the door of your quarters. He'd pressed a kiss against the back of your hand, ever chivalrous.
But he’s there, towering, in the shadows of the corner, his eyes almost glowing. They said he was dead. You’d played the part of a war widow, despite the fact the two of you weren’t even married when he was killed in action. You were never sure if the wedding was truly going to happen - surely just a PR stunt to boost morale. The war hero and the darling of Shinra. When he hadn't returned, you'd been sent out to endless memorials, dressed head to toe in black, told not to speak, before you secluded yourself to process your grief - or at least that’s what the press releases said when your father or brother had been asked about your rare public appearances.
“I thought you’d be more pleased to see your betrothed.”
“You’re…” You swallow, though your throat remains as dry as it was. “You’re dead.”
Sephiroth steps forward into the dim light of the room and you hear something drip on the floor.
“Am I?” At first, you think he’s scowling at your statement, the fact that you’d think he, of all people, was dead. But within a blink, he’s somehow in front of you, one hand grasping your chin with firm fingers. “What happened to your face?”
“I… displeased the President.”
“He hit you.” It’s not a question. He turns your face to the side, taking in the purple and yellow bruising before tsking. “That won’t do.”
There’s another drip as he releases his hold on your chin.
“It is not as bad as it looks.”
“I do not tolerate others marring my things.”
Drip.
You should be indignant at being referred to as a thing, as his thing - you know you should - but perhaps it’s the shock of him standing before you, as if no time had passed at all, and the odd noise that appears to accompany him. Your eyes are drawn down to his left hand, the source of whatever was dripping on the linoleum. He notices your stare. “Allow me to make introductions. Little one, I’d like you to meet my mother, Jenova.” He holds his hand aloft, now practically beaming and it takes a moment for you to process what you actually see before you. "Mother, meet my soon to be wife." He’s holding a head.

One of my yandere musings inspired me to write this! I always found the idea of a yandere Sephiroth stealing the darling of Fluffy Sephiroth to be really interesting, so why not do it now? Fair warning though, these are pretty gloomy.
Pairing: AC Sephiroth/Domestic Darling.
Content Warning: NSFW. Noncon. Emotional Abuse. Milk/Nursing Kink. Corruption Kink. Pregnant Darling.
Tumblr media
Your weak moans broke the defeaning silence as he languidly fucked your cunt, his hand on your left thigh and the other on your right hip.
Damn your body working against you. Your cunt had a mind of its own; a trembling, gushing, wet mess that relentlessly pleaded for more of him.
But this wicked mockery of the man you loved disgusted your hurt mind.
You wished you were strong enough to support Sephiroth in the fight against his dark mirror...
His slit blue eyes and his twisted smile bore into you and your swollen, pregnant belly. It was clear that in his wicked fantasy mind, he thought this moment between you two was intimate, as if it was natural. It couldn't have been further from the truth, your truth.
"You've never looked so lovely before, my darling," he whispered, his velvety, "sweet" voice tainted with malice. He often tried to mimic your sweet husband to break you, but you always saw right through him. You won't give in. You don't want to.
He increased the power of his thrusts, coaxing a louder moan from your sweet lips, but still keeping that tortuously slow pace.
Oh, how you wanted this to end. How you wanted your Sephiroth back and live the happy life you two had before.
As his hand moved from your hip to your pregnant belly, you clenched your teeth, your protective maternal instincts triggering. No. No. Not your baby. Not what you had left of him.
But as usual, you couldn't move very much. It's like something is keeping your arms down, pinned to the bed. As much as you tried to move against this force, you only arched your back.
Your inner walls tightened around his cock as he delivered a particularly brutal thrust when you failed to respond to him.
"Our child will grow up to be strong. I will be the one to guide her - forever!" He growled.
His vast, dark wing sprouted from his back, wrapping you in its embrace as he continued to stroke your belly.
"You don't need to worry, darling. He's intertwined with me... a part of my very essence," For a brief second, his eyes widened as he said those last words.
He leaned down towards your pregnant belly, his lips hovering close but not quite kissing it.
You didn't react to what he said about your baby. Your focus was on his unsettling words. It's impossible, he couldn't be him. Your Sephiroth is still out there somewhere!
The initially gentle hand on your pregnant belly became possessive and rough as it moved up one of your milk-filled tits.
Your body twitched, a mixture of pain and pleasure unraveling within as he coaxed milk from your engorged nipple, his dark grin slightly widening at your reaction.
"Don't worry, darling. I'll make sure every drop of this precious milk is put to good use."
He squeezed your abused tit harder, reveled in more milk seeping over his hands and your belly. The traces of JENOVA'S imprint within your milk sent him into a primal frenzy.
His luscious lips hungrily latched onto your nipple, his tongue swirled around the flesh as he was determined to make true on his last words.
The thick and creamy liquid danced on his tastebuds, making his chest rumble with a twisted delight.
His cock constantly kissed your cervix, while only ever so slightly increasing his agonizing tempo. Even in his primal frenzy, he's still such a calculating bastard.
He released your nipple with a "pop" when he finally cummed inside you.
You screamed, feeling every drop of his corrupted seed mixing with your cunt juices. It's overwriting your desires and twisting your thoughts to fixate on him.
And it's disgustingly lukewarm, moving within you and coating every part of your insides like it's another entity. Why do you want more of it?!
He had a rare, radiant smile on his face, just like your lost husband. He watched tears streaming down your cheeks, your resistance finally started to melt.
Your husband was weak, he never deserved you... The man with you now could always protect you and your daughter. He could give you everything you ever wanted... Right?
Sephiroth licked the tears from your left cheek, before nuzzling into it and whispering softly in your ear.
"With me, all of my dolls will know true joy."

Don't leave me (Sephiroth x Reader angst)
Summary: Sephiroth's abandonment issues get the better of him in the middle of the night, so he goes to you, seeking comfort.
---‐------------------------------------------------------------‐--------------Sleep was never easy for Sephiroth thanks to the shadows, voices, and eerie bits of music that often plagued his thoughts. His mind, when allowed to wander, was often like a bitter, wintery blizzard, with everything swirling around in one, massive, confusing, mental storm. In order to keep the storm from growing too large, Sephiroth often kept busy throughout the day, focusing his mind on productive, stimulating activities such as exercising, scheming in his office, or tracking down Cloud and his accomplices.
However, at nighttime, when his brain was exhausted and craved sleep, such activities were very difficult to complete, therefore, he turned to more ordinary practices of keeping his mind occupied, which, unsurprisingly, did not work. Math problems were easy for him, as were crossword puzzles, spot the difference games, hidden object puzzles, etc. Sephiroth could work through an entire high-school math textbook in under 2 hours and say it was "child's play". This level of genius was purely astonishing, and also maddening, as his troubled thoughts, of which there were plenty, were also very disruptive.
Sighing, the man rolled over in his bed and draped his heavy, fluffy wing over his face like most humans would with a pillow. Why couldn't he sleep?! What would it take for his goddamn brain to shut off and let him rest already?! He was so tired, he could feel his eyeballs ache, but he just couldn't rest. Why?
The swirling storm in Sephiroth's head raged on; he closed his eyes and gripped his pillow tightly, trying desperately to remember what falling asleep felt like so he could ascertain whether or not he was making progress.
Several more minutes passed, and Sephiroth felt his brain fog over. He relaxed completely, willing his consciousness to slip into darkness and finally, finally, allow him to rest. He expected to plunge into fuzzy nothingness, but was instead met with a cold, dark, empty void.
All around him, he could hear laughter. Deranged laughter; laughter he'd heard almost all day of every day during his childhood. How he hated that laugh. Sephiroth turned around, only to find that same man standing before him in the familiar, pristine lab coat that he knew so well.
Hojo.
He was glad he couldn't speak; to utter his name aloud would have stained and corrupted his tongue. He glared at the man with contempt, wishing he would just leave already. He'd seen enough of that cruel bastard, he didn't need to see any more. Hojo smiled at him, his thin lips twisting into a devious smirk. Looking at it made Sephiroth's blood boil. Where was Masamune? Now would be a perfect time to use it.
Hojo's smile slowly faded, his expression turning from evil glee to disgust. He was regarding Sephiroth with disgust. How dare he?! Sephiroth watched as he turned around and walked away, shaking his head. Good riddance, he thought. He never wanted to look at scum like Hojo anyway. Turning around once again, Sephiroth came face to face with a being he never expected to see in a place like this. His own, beloved mother: Jenova.
Now Sephiroth was beginning to wish he could speak. He wanted to tell his mother how glad he was to see her here, how much he loved her, how thankful he was to her for his mere existence. He tried to reach out to touch her, but she recoiled, frowning in repulsion. What was wrong? What did he do to make her feel this way? Sephiroth was at a complete loss; all he ever did was for his mother, so why wasn't she embracing him? Why....why didn't she love him?
Panicking slightly, Sephiroth extended his hands in her direction once again, but Jenova stepped back. Shaking her head at him, just as Hojo had done, the entity whom Sephiroth had dedicated nearly everything he did to turned her back on him.
Now he was scared. The darkness was more than just that; it was an all-consuming maw mace of his own twisted, fearful thoughts. He didn't want this; he hated being alone like this. Why did everyone leave? What did he do wrong?
The stormy void closed in around Sephiroth, surrounding him in a cloud of fear. He didn't like this, he didn't want to sleep anymore, he wanted to wake up!
And he did, springing upright in a cold sweat, panting heavily. His wing flapped loudly against the bed, shedding feathers everywhere. He looked around and saw he was the only person in the room, this notion terrifying him even further. In a fit of frenzied hysteria, Sephiroth flung the covers aside and stumbled out of his room, not caring that he was bashing various body parts against the door trim. He ended up in the living room, where you were still awake, working on the couch. As soon as he appeared in the darkened room, you stopped what you were doing and turned to him, confused. His legs, clad only in pajama shorts, were visibly and violently trembling; an unusual occurrence.
"Seph?" You asked, standing up and walking towards him. "Are you alright?" He shook his head, nearly collapsing into your arms. You cradled him for a while, pressing soft kisses to his cheek, waiting patiently to see if he would explain the reasons for his distress. After a few moments, he began to sob.
"Don't leave me," He croaked, clinging onto you tightly. "Don't leave me too...." You sighed softly, before taking hid head into your hands and kissing him.
"I'm not leaving you, ever," You told him, running your hands through his long, silky locks. "I'm gonna be here forever. Don't be afraid." Sephiroth nodded, then sniffled and wiped his tears away. "Come on," You said, taking him by the hand and leading him back to his bedroom. "I'll stay with you tonight."
Needless to say, Sephiroth fell asleep easier than ever that night; the comfort of your presence, and the knowledge that you would never leave him lulling him into peaceful slumber.

Angeal and Sephiroth (And Genesis?)—Dissidia Opera Omnia—Part One
Tumblr media
Alright, so this chapter was a lot, and it opened with Weiss quoting “Loveless” for a reason, it seems.
“When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end, the goddess descends from the sky! Wings of light and dark spread afar, she guides us to bliss…her gift everlasting!”
Weiss becomes our voice for Genesis, or his “brother,” in this chapter. When Seymour questions his quote, Weiss replies,
“It was a passage from a story our brother loved. He used to quote it for his best friend. That friend was Sephiroth, the hero and friend of the other “brother,” Angeal as well.”
This part was hard to translate into English, but Weiss essentially explains that Genesis used to quote Loveless for his close friend, Sephiroth, the hero, and Angeal was right there with them as the third friend in the trio.
Seymour is shocked and gasps, “Sephiroth and Angeal were best friends??”
Weiss replies, “It’s hard to believe of the now-evil “hero” that never reveals his heart. And yet, the exemplary First Class soldier that is a role model for everyone was his friend.”
I am on the fence about the translation of this part and may change it once my friend gets back to me, but for now, it seems like Weiss is pondering the friendship of Sephiroth and Angeal and how differently they turned out, because Seymour does make a comment like, “I suppose if you have dreams and honor, you can’t go wrong.”
But there is potentially more here that Weiss is saying about his own relationship to Sephiroth and Angeal—perhaps suggesting he is not their friend and doesn’t quite understand their past relationship himself. I will have to keep researching.
Tumblr media
We cut to Sephiroth again, who is confused about his memory returning. He says he didn’t expect any memories to return from the Lifestream, but shakes his head and denial. He claims these memories Angeal brought back are unnecessary and that he most remove Angeal from the picture immediately. His motives are set.
Meanwhile, Zack and Angeal are talking about how Sephiroth changed. I translated this on Altocat’s blog and here is what they say:
Zack says,
“Angeal, I know you’re surprised…I can’t believe that Sephiroth changed like that…
Angeal replies,
“So, you were taken aback as well…”
Zack says,
“It was out of nowhere. We went to investigate Cloud and Tifa’s village…and I guess he discovered his origins. He killed everyone and burned down the village. He had always been the hero I strived to be…”
Zack and Angeal are both very crestfallen here, lamenting this knowledge. Angeal pulls himself together and says,
“I know…I’m disappointed too. Everything changed while I was gone, I guess.
Angeal further laments that he wasn’t there, and Zack reassures him that even though Angeal disappeared at the time and pushed everyone away, Zack would have stayed by his side and helped. Zack would have left Shinra, and he says he is sure Sephiroth felt the same way.
Angeal thanks his student but says that it was his choice and lonely path at the time—he had to carry the responsibility as a First Class soldier. Zack chastises him saying he shouldn’t think that way—after all, Zack is a First Class as well, and has enough experience. He could have helped Angeal. Angeal begins to reply, saying, “Zack…” but then they are interrupted by the others.
They say it’s time to make a decision about Sephiroth, and Cloud explains that the silver boi is planning to turn the world into an empty vessel that he may sail the cosmos with in order to find another world. An Advent Children reference, of course.
Rufus mentions that this goal is very similar to the desire of Jenova. He has to then explain what Jenova is to the other characters, as well as the Reunion theory.
This makes a lightbulb go off in Angeal’s head and he gasps, “So basically…Sephiroth is Jenova?”
He puts it together that Reunion implies that Jenova’s cells must be drawn back to their source, and since that source is currently Sephiroth, they must be the same.
However, the others simply say that Sephiroth/Jenova must be eliminated, and agree to hunt him down. Everyone nods and moves forward except Angeal, who lingers with hesitation.
In the next part, they are in the process of tracking Sephiroth, but the group notices Angeal’s troubled demeanor. They ask him if he’s okay and Kadaj says that he heard about Sephiroth being Angeal’s good friend. He says that it must be disheartening to see Sephiroth in his current state, since nothing is like it used to be.
Angeal notes Kadaj’s own tone of disappointment and Kadaj explains how Sephiroth used him as a puppet to find Jenova’s remains, which horrifies Kadaj because if Sephiroth and Jenova are the same, then his own “mother” used and betrayed him in such a way.
Angeal encourages Kadaj and gives him one of his classic pep talks, appealing to his usual “dreams and honor” code. Tifa notes that Zack often spoke the same way, prompting Angeal to recall teaching Zack all those things.
In response to Kadaj, he then says he was indeed surprised by hearing what Sephiroth did, but he says that,
“Sephiroth had his honor once too…and he has a tendency to hold onto things, so even if I am surprised, I can’t abandon him…”
The others say that they aren’t sure if Angeal’s words can reach Sephiroth, who was cruel enough to destroy Tifa and Cloud’s village. Tifa agrees as she recalls how she begged Sephiroth to explain why he did what he did, but she does say to Angeal that she believes he could have a better chance.
She kindly compliments him on how his “dreams and honor” philosophy had helped her as well. :,)
She encourages Angeal, saying that his words will surely be a beacon and that he should try to speak with Sephiroth again. Angeal hangs his head sorrowfully and agrees, saying,
“I don’t want to give up on him….so I’ll try as hard as I can…”
This is a good place to stop because the next chapters are where everything gets chaotic, but for now, we have some build-up for what Angeal wants to do, and for Weiss being a stand-in for Genesis later.
Some little notes:
The Zack and Angeal scenes were very sweet, as Zack wants to convince his old mentor to stop shouldering everything alone. Angeal’s absolute refusal to give up on Seph tugs at the heartstrings too, and I find it so sweet that Tifa actually encouraged him.
The “Sephiroth is Jenova” point is fascinating, but I believe we will soon find that Seph’s own will is blended into Jenova’s, as they are aligned, and this might be what reveals to Angeal that there may not be much hope for his old friend. :(
I am struggling with the Weiss and Seymour discussion, and this has been one of the parts that has slowed me down, because the context is hard to decipher, but I suspect that Weiss is comparing Sephiroth and Angeal to the figures in Loveless, which also becomes relevant later. I will update as soon as I can get an explanation from my Japanese friend. I am not skilled enough to decipher everything yet on my own, you see. 😅
But enjoy this for now, and I will be back with more soon! <3

I keep bouncing off of watching playthroughs of Final Fantasy VII, because while there's stuff there that I really like (I know the broad strokes of the plot), I am just not vibing with the voice acting / dialogue style in the Remake and the original is mostly just text so I can't listen to it while I'm working. (I watched my way through the original yeaaaaars ago, so I'm due for a proper refresher.)
Anyway! With the disclaimer that I don't 100% know what I'm talking about: I think one of the absolute funniest potential "Sephiroth is saved" Canon Divergence AUs + "Sephiroth / Original (Audience Insert) Character" AUs would be an AU where Sephiroth gets together with Cloud's Mom.
On the Nibelheim mission, the plot forces Cloud back home for some reason, then Cloud is forced to introduce Sephiroth and Zack to his mom for whatever reason. I've seen some fics where Cloud's Mom was a teen single mom, so this woman could still be in her thirties, and even if she was older... Uh, there are arguments to be made here about Sephiroth being into a MILF. There definitely might be something resembling "mommy issues" among his many other "being a super soldier experiment from birth and later an actual child soldier" issues.
Zack, watching Sephiroth quietly hit it off with Cloud's very pretty Mom: "What... what is happening right now?"
Proceed in this Canon Diverence AU to orchestrate scenarios in which Sephiroth ends up not getting sufficiently close to the last straw that is Jenova for some reason. Some reason being partially that he's too busy flirting with / hooking up with Cloud's Mom. Sephiroth needs (excuse the pun) a fucking break. Poor Cloud Strife does NOT know what to make of his childhood hero / current boss sliding into the beginnings of a step-dad position. What the hell.

Imagine if Vincent woke up during Nibelheim?
I really wanted to write a crack funny answer but I couldn't bring myself to ignore this concept asdfghjkzzzzz enjoy
°:. *₊ ° . ° .•°:. *₊ Vincent knew he would inevitably be roused from his sleep. However much he wished otherwise, he understood it was merely a matter of time before someone woke him up. Whether it be curious children or overly bold explorers stumbling upon the mansion and venturing this far, Shinra operatives seizing him, or even the dreaded idea of Hojo himself, a scenario he prayed would never happen.
The point remained; he anticipated it. That being said, it did not lessen the blow of the shock when he sensed someone enter the chamber.
His eyes snapped open, fixating on the interior of the coffin lid, while his body remained motionless and silent, akin to a predator lying in wait. Then came the footsteps, tentative and deliberate, drawing nearer to the coffin.
Vincent's hand closed around Cerberus as he awaited the inevitable. Then there was shuffling, followed by hands grasping at the coffin lid. Anticipating the intruder's move, Vincent beat them to the punch⏤flinging open the door.
"Who dares disturb me?" he demanded, his voice hollow with bitter anger.
With a blur of his crimson cape, the coffin lid was cast aside. Vincent sprang up, exhibiting a swiftness not felt in years, aiming his gun directly at the intruder's head.
Two slitted green eyes widened in response. It was as good as a bucket of ice dunked over Vincent's head. He faltered, a screen of memories flooding back into his mind's eye like a highlight reel of his sins, one after the other, each a painful flash: Lucrecia—Hojo—Jenova—Sephiroth.
Sephiroth.
For a moment, Vincent failed to notice how much he had grown. The silver strands framing his face and the glassy green eyes mirrored that of the infant he had last seen so many years ago. But now he was a man, appearing utterly lost.
Vincent kept his gun leveled, and Sephiroth made no move for a weapon. He simply stood there, his hollow gaze framed by dark circles beneath his eyes.
"I'm… Sephiroth," he uttered, his voice small enough to startle Vincent into lowering the gun.
Vincent's breath came heavy, a thin sheen of sweat forming beneath his bandana. He stepped back, forcing himself to truly see Lucrecia's son. A wave of anguish gnawed at his insides, raw and undeniable, threatening to drag him under had he ever been buried.
Sephiroth bore her likeness: her chin, her lips, her cheeks. He was hers. She stood before him again… looking unwell.
Vincent rushed forward before Sephiroth could collapse. As Sephiroth sank to his knees, a quiet cry of pain escaping him, Vincent caught him, feeling the bones beneath his gloves as he grasped Sephiroth's wrist.
He was malnourished, probably burdened by a weight that had reduced him from his former strength. He needed help, and urgently. Vincent helped him to his feet, wrapping an arm around his back for support.
And for a fleeting moment, he held Sephiroth as he once saw him as a baby, and everything felt right. This time, he vowed, he would make sure of it.
Hours later, Cloud entered their shared room at the inn with Zack. His troubled expression was evidently told from the crease on his brow, which was the first thing Zack noticed when Cloud closed the door and leaned against it.
"What's wrong?" Zack asked, closing his book and sitting up.
Cloud paced further into the room, his lips a thin line. "I… didn't know Sephiroth had a father."
Zack rose, the hair on the back of his neck standing with him. "You saw Sephiroth? Where? When did he come back?"
Cloud appeared equally stunned, but he had a tale to tell. "Just now. There was another man with him… really tall, kinda looked like a vampire."
Zack's jaw dropped. "Is Sephiroth alright? Does he need us? Man, he must be a wreck after staying holed down in that library for a damn week."
Cloud shook his head. "I offered to help them up the stairs, but they managed. Sephiroth seems… lost? Confused? I showed him to Sephiroth's room, and they went there. I think he's taking care of him."
Zack collapsed onto the bed, utterly flummoxed. "Who is he? Where did he come from? Does Sephiroth know him?"
So many questions flooded Zack's speech, and Cloud had but one answer to encompass them all.
"I asked for his name, but he didn't say," Cloud admitted. "He only mentioned that he was Sephiroth's father."

Imagine CC Sephiroth finding a CCTV footage of something related to his early developement where in the background he can see a woman (Jenova, from his photo) and can faintly hear her screaming at Hojo "let me hold him" and "you can't take my son away from me"
Snooping around the data room was bound to cut through the web of Hojo's lies and half truths eventually, which is exactly why he kept going back. Occasionally, he found old tapes and took them to his apartment for further inspection, hiding each one under his long uniform coat and returning them before anyone noticed.
At first he doesn't believe what he's seeing.
It was his recovery from his first mako procedure, long before he could speak or crawl or remember. He was in a pod not much larger than he was, an egg of glass protecting him and regulating the oxygen levels as necessary.
The baby in the incubator shivered, scratching at the wires in its skin in an attempt to break free. Each wire was anchored with metal shackles, presumably one of the only things it couldn't break, probably also reused from the many dogs Hojo bred for the President's son. The first five minutes only showed his cold and discomfort as he struggled to heal.
But he recognized the woman in the observation glass. He heard her muffled cries and chose to ignore them until her face entered the frame. A face he held close to his chest for as long as he could.
It was her. It was Jenova, her brown hair in the exact same ponytail as her photo. Her pleas no longer drowned in his ears.
"Let me hold him!"
Then Hojo entered the screen as well, though his face was cut off Sephiroth knew every mannerism of that wicked man like the back of his hand. Every step, every gesture, every shift of dark glasses.
"Just once! Please!"
His heart ached. He felt his hand move to his chest, to where her photo used to remain.
"Absolutely not. Your presence at this stage will damage him beyond repair. I will not allow you to ruin this with your meddling."
"Hojo, please!"
He did not budge. "I allowed you this far. You may look at him through that window before security escorts you out."
"You can't take my son away from me!"
"This is my laboratory, and I will do as I please. You have seven seconds."
She surrendered, placing her hands against the glass, turning away from the scientist with tears down her cheeks. "Sephiroth!"
His breath hitched. His name. Her voice. Her undeniable care.
"Sephiroth, my son, know your mother loves you! I love you so much and I would break you free if I was strong enough! I love you, my son! I would do anything to be by your side!"
The helmeted officers came and pulled her arms back.
"Sephiroth! SEPHIROTH!"
A door opened and closed, and the recording continued as if nothing happened.
Sephiroth ejected the tape before taking his weapon and rushing to the labs, the evidence again hidden under his coat until he met his target.
The scientist's side glance infuriated his already burning nerves. He said nothing as he pushed the scientist away from the desk and inserted the tape into an old player connected to a CRT screen. He skipped ahead and paused the video when Jenova came into full view against the window.
Hojo groaned in annoyance, literally rolling his eyes. "Why are you showing me this, boy? I was there, you know."
"You said she died in childbirth."
"I said she died after you were born."
"You ripped me away."
"And I made you better for it. Do you have any idea how pathetic you'd become under a mentally unstable mess like her?"
"Don't you dare speak of my mother that way!"
"I knew her well. I will speak of her as I please."
"...where is she?"
"Pardon?"
"Where. Is she?"
"I just said she's dead."
"And why would I believe you?"
"You're wasting my time."
"Why would I believe you?"
The room turned cold. "Because I am the only source you have, and you know it."
That deep reality tainted the entirety of the interrogation, and Sephiroth was forced to leave with the exact same knowledge he walked in with. He couldn't stop hearing her voice. He couldn't stop the looping plea in his mind.
Know your mother loves you!
Sephiroth!
Sephiroth.

This concept WON’T pay rent or leave my brain.
~
ZackSeph Nibelheim au wherein Zack and Seph are sharing a room at the inn. Zack’s brow is furrowed in distressed, tossing and turning as he lays gripped in the haunting talons of a nightmare. A prophetic nightmare where he sees Seph turning against him—turning against everyone—laughing like a maniac with an unrecognizable blaze in his eyes, with a blood-bathed Masamune in his hand as he viciously attacks him without mercy. Seph… he’s mumbling in his sleep. Please… it’s me… Please… don’t…
Suddenly, tender hands are shaking him awake, shattering the nightmare. Zack’s eyes flare open to see Sephiroth standing over him, concern etched deep on his features. The boy’s breath is erratic, panicked; it takes several beats for it to find rhythm again, remnants of the nightmare clinging to him like the glistening pearls beading his lashes. Sephiroth asks what’s wrong—why his friend was calling his name. Zack is hesitant to respond, swallowing. But he eventually gives in as Sephiroth remains by his side, patient and assuring, a comforting presence that soothes his soul like balm. He explains his nightmare, spilling his terror. His emotions. Throat nearly closing as he struggles to finish the conclusion—the bloody gleam of Masamune, the way Seph had speared her through his—
As Zack’s voice trails off, shaking, Sephiroth face softens into an empathetic ache. He reaches out to brush the tears from Zack’s eyes, catching them with tender fingers. It’s just a nightmare… he assures kindly. It’s all alright now. But Zack isn’t fully assuaged; something about it all was too real, too vivid. Already stabbed with the pain of betrayal, having to fight a friend to the death… it’s just too much to think about his last remaining rock turning against him. Seeing his distress, Sephiroth gathers the boy into a warm embrace, holding him close, sinking onto the edge of the bed as Zack burrows into his chest. Listening to his heartbeat, wrapping his arms around him in turn. Clinging.
Shhh…. It’s alright. I’m here. You’re safe.
I thought… I thought I lost you. You didn’t even recognize me.
Sephiroth only holds him tighter.
They stay like that for a long, nebulous stretch of time, until Zack’s breathing begins to steady, until his eyes begin to close. As sleep begins to claim the boy again, Sephiroth carefully tucks him back under the covers, ensuring his comfort and warmth. Pulling the sheets up to his shoulders and slowly pulling away.
As he turns around, ready to return to bed, Zack’s eyes creak open.
Seph... would you... stay with me?
There’s a beat, a moment of stillness. But one that is quickly broken. Understanding the depth of his friend’s turmoil, Sephiroth returns nothing but a slow, kind nod, sliding into the bed beside his friend and wrapping his arms protectively around him. Zack nestles deep into the embrace, finding solace in the familiar warmth and sanctuary.
It’s my job to protect you, Zack… You know that. I won’t let anything harm you.
Zack nestles closer, sinking deeper into his best friend’s arms as a dreamless slumber begins to wash over him… safe and sound with a steady heartbeat pressed against his own.
…I don’t know what I’d do without you.
Sephiroth holds him tighter, protecting his treasure.
And you will never have to find out. I promise.
~
Does he find out? Does Sephiroth go insane, or does Zack remind him of the promise he made as Jenova attempts to claim him? Does their love break her control? Does Sephiroth choose his best friend over his book, keeps his vows over learning the twisted truth?
Well… I’m me. I think the answer is obvious <3

⚠️ FF7/FF7 Rebirth Spoilers ⚠️
I drew this a couple months back, and kept revisiting the piece. This is where I’m stopping for now, though I feel like there’s a bit I could improve on 🥺
ANYWAY!!
If you can’t tell, I LOOOVED the bits in FF7 where Cloud is influenced by Jenova/Sephiroth. It’s quite literally one of my favorite parts of the og game and Rebirth, and Rebirth made it so interesting while we watched Cloud get more violent against enemies as the story progressed omggg 🥰🥰🥰 (Also Rebirth adding in those bits where he begged Aerith for the black materia and tried coaxing her into giving it to him in that creepy voice AGGHHHH!! still sad abt no cat eyes in rebirth though,,,)
Anyway, this is my contribution to insanely strange Cloud Strife. Please accept it! 💝

cloud defeats sephiroth for the 4928478th time but this time lucrecia is there 🥲
Lucrecia would blame herself because she's Lucrecia. I mean she already had visions of what her son would one day become. This is the endgame of all her worries and fears. Not only did Vincent not tell her the truth about Sephiroth still being alive, but her son IS the monster that she'd feared he'd become. And, on the heels of that, he's once again on the precipice of death from his latest malicious scheme.
She told herself not to go to him. But too late. She cradles him in her arms while he begins to fade back to whatever void he was floating in before. Lucrecia knows he is going to Jenova, to hibernate for another year or so, to repeat the cycle all over again. She knows he can't hear or see her in his wounded state. She doesn't care. She simply holds him close, desperate to keep him with her, desperate to feel him at lost last.
Her voice is the last thing he recalls as he slips away. And, strangely enough, the only thing that pierces his hardened heart when he returns to Jenova. In the next cycle to follow, Sephiroth finds suddenly uneasy, perturbed. Something is missing. Something is...different.

People tend to write Sephiroth out of Jenova’s control like a switch has been flipped and now he’s totally a chill guy, but tbh I feel like it’d be so much messier. Like, in my opinion, the line between Sephiroth and Jenova is blurry, and I feel like that would show through in Sephiroth still *trying* in many ways to act like he has been, but now with this conscious that he can hear again after so long, and he’s not sure which voice in his head is the one to follow

I often stop to think about the events that happened in Nibelheim before the start of FF VII. And I end up racking my brains about some details in particular, including the relationship between Hojo and Vincent. Before becoming creator and creature, of course. This is probably one of those things I'd like to see expanded upon in the final installment of the remake.
So... Why did Hojo kill Vincent?
As a mere bodyguard, someone who meant nothing to Hojo, this seems a bit excessive to me. And the scientist in Dirge of Cerberus always emphasized how Vincent Valentine was a perfect nobody. Perhaps a phone call and a replacement in security would have been more appropriate to the situation for the person in charge of the crew. Unless the great scientific director of Shinra, the one who Sephiroth himself describes as a mass of walking complexes, actually felt quite inadequate towards the handsome and young Turk, just to give an example.
Things between Vincent and Hojo take place on a more personal level, compared to the roles they hold within Shinra. Or the relationship between scientist and simple specimen. This also has to do with Lucrecia, of course, but not only. At least that's my interpretation. So... what do you think? Why did Hojo eliminate Vincent instead of simply firing him?

Wait for me...
Tumblr media
I'm coming.
The yandere version of this fic/scenario.
Pairing: "Fluffy" Sephiroth/Pregnant Darling
Content Warning: NSFW. Noncon. Milk Kink.
Tumblr media
You gazed at the well-stocked cabinet, the moonlight beaming on your face. You didn't know why you were doing this, considering that everything had already been put away for the night and the triplet boys were in bed. Maybe you weren't used to so many of the chores being done so quickly ever since your husband, Sephiroth, came back into your lives. You wanted to be glad about this "reunion". You really did. You couldn't, though. The horrific atrocities he committed in your family's name, his insistence on his right to rule the planet, his indoctrination of your sweet, innocent boys... It made you sick.
That fateful day he left your old home to find a cure for your degradation ended up changing him for the worst. He never told you the exact details of what happened, only mentioning an "epiphany" he had that day when he injected you with some sort of cells. Maybe, if you had gone with him, you could have stopped him from transforming into the monster he became now. It's all your fault.
You shook your head and closed the cabinet door, passing Sephiroth on your way upstairs. While you didn't dare to look at him, you saw him in your peripheral vision. He was sitting at his desk with his legs crossed, absorbed in a maternity book under the dim glow of the desk lamp. But as you closed the bedroom door, you practically felt his slit eyes piercing into you.
You laid sideways on the bed, careful enough to not cause discomfort to you or your unborn child, JENOVA. Her movements had become increasingly scarce and feeble in your womb lately. It's worrisome and odd, as you're forty-one weeks into this pregnancy. And to think a few months ago, you were worried about her coming out too early, as she was hyperactive, especially after Sephiroth reentered your lives. But now, it's almost nothing. Your hand gently cradled your swollen belly. Did those cells cause this? You received them not long after she was conceived. But alas, help was out of reach. Your husband had already gone to each and every neighbor of yours for his "visits". And even then, you and the boys are only allowed out of the house on occasion, always under his watchful eye.
Sephiroth entered the bedroom, his eyes scanning you from head to toe. You're not surprised. Wherever you go, you knew the serpent in your mind will follow. Like an invisible tsunami, his anger seeped through the room as he quietly closed the door and placed his maternity book on the dresser. He then gathered the scattered pillows around the bed, positioning one underneath your head, two for your belly, and one for your knees. He carefully adjusted your position before lying down behind you, spooning your body.
"You're overdue," he whispered, his lips now dangerously close to yours. Your breathing hitched and your heart rate increased as those words resonated in your mind. Of course, you are! You knew that. With one hand, he massaged your back while sliding his other hand beneath your maternity lingerie, toying with one of your nipples. He rolled the engorged nipple between his fingertips while studying your reaction; your lips parted, yet you struggled to suppress your moan. This obviously wasn't the greatest time for lovemaking, so why is he doing this? He forced that sweet moan out of you when he gave the nipple a gentle tug.
"Shh… We wouldn't want to wake the boys, would we?" He cooed at you, though his sweet, smooth voice didn't match his expression. His slit eyes shone at you with fury and the slightest hint of despair. It's clear that he's worried about her, just as you are. His luscious lips curved into his trademark devilish grin as his gentle tug on your nipple became rough, finally secreting that sweet milk that was contained for so long. He hadn't been suckling your tits for a while since he was too busy researching (and killing).
Fuck, he made it so hard for you to be quiet. His rough but pleasurable treatment of your tits is already pushing you to the breaking point; You didn't even notice him briefly freeing his long, hard cock from his pants. As he positioned himself at your entrance, his other hand began toying with your other nipple in tandem. You let out a gasp as he forcefully entered you, gripping your waist tightly to keep you in position.
"Don't," his breath hitched, his cock twitched from your walls massaging it. "...worry. I will guide you, as I always-" He couldn't finish his words as his vast wing sprouted from his back, enveloping you in its dark embrace. He let out a primal growl, flipping you on your back to start rutting you like the madman he is.
"T-too rough! The baby!" You huffed out just as his lips captured yours in a searing kiss. His tongue swirled yours forcefully, his hands opening your legs. It was as if something had taken over him. You only see him become vicious a few other times. He's being just cautious enough to not put any pressure on your baby bump. The urge to pull away from this kiss grew within you, but your resistance and muffled pleas only encouraged him to ravish you further. With each passing second, your supply of air dwindled, and his hand roamed your curves, finally coming to rest at your clit, teasing it relentlessly.
Just as you both came, you couldn't ignore his slit eyes dilating as he groaned. He withdrew his cock, his warm seed splattering across your legs and lower belly. Finally, he allowed you a moment to catch your breath. Resting his head on your belly, he softly traced the stretch marks with his fingertips.
"The reunion...is nothing to fear."
Tumblr media
I think "Serpents" is a perfect theme for the alternate Domestic AU. It capture's Darling feelings about Sephy very well. I recommend giving it a listen sometime.
Yandere Domestic AU chronology: Christmas Kids | The Reunion is Nothing to Fear | Wait for me | Homecoming | The Crowning Moment

Rapunzel (Sephiroth x Cloud)
A/N: Inspired by a post made by @meru-chanowo. Please note that this isn't going to be exactly like Tangled or the Rapunzel fairytales. The story is different; altered to fit the characters' personalities. With that short disclaimer out of the way, I hope you enjoy. 💜
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sephiroth sighed as he stared out the window, taking in the lush scenery before him. The sky was a gorgeous light blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds; the grass was a shining green, and the dewdrops that had accumulated overnight were glistening brightly in the shining morning sun whose bright rays also illuminated the entire tower through the window.
"I wish I could go out there,"
He mumbled, folding his arms and resting his face in them. He'd spent his entire life confined in that tall, tall tower in the middle of nowhere; all he knew was the dull brick walls and the little snippet of the outside world provided by his tiny window.
"But Mother wouldn't let me..."
Mother Jenova was a strict, strict woman, who always insisted the outside world was a cruel, dangerous place full of evil people and disgusting creatures. Throughout his childhood and adolescence, she repeatedly told him that the safest place he could ever hope to be was within that tower, safe and sound. Sephiroth had believed her for most of his life, but recently, he began to wonder: Was the entire world that terrible? Was that small meadow visible from his tiny window the only part of the Earth that wasn't corrupted? These kinds of questions created curiosity; curiosity created hypotheses; hypotheses need to be tested.
Sephiroth wanted to leave the tower more than anything. He wanted to explore and see the world for himself, rather than rely on Mother Jenova's words. Not to mention, he was lonely. So, so lonely. The only person he'd ever spoken to was Mother Jenova, and as stated before, she was a strict, strict woman. She would never indulge in fantasies, theories, or even speak of "what-if's", she was all about facts, figures, and more importantly, Sephiroth's safety.
"This tower is the safest place you'll ever be in, child," She would tell him, while brushing his hair out as she did every night before bed. "Here, you'll never want, never need, and never fear. This tower is your home. Don't ever think about leaving it."
But that was the problem, Sephiroth wanted to want, he wanted to need and to fear; he desired so strongly to experience things for himself, to live his own life.
In short, Sephiroth wanted freedom.
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair," Shouted a voice. Sephiroth turned to the window and saw Mother Jenova waving to him from below, her curvaceous, blue-skinned figure wrapped in a blue shawl, a basket of groceries under her arm. Sephiroth let out a low chuckle, as this was an inside joke between him and his mother. The length of his hair as well as his ethreal beauty made him quite similar to the fairytale princess. In reality, he did not use his hair for climbing purposes; Mother Jenova possessed the ability to levitate into the tower on her own.
"Did you miss me, child?" She asked, setting down her groceries on the small wooden table. "Very much so, Mother." Sephiroth answered, quietly. He had learned over the years that Mother Jenova expected a very specific reply to certain questions, and that if she didn't get it, she would scream and shout for hours, even after her throat turned hoarse. Sephiroth knew what she wanted: To be seen as the perfect, loving mother, the ultimate provider and the only person upon which he should ever depend. In order to keep the peace, he would have to make sure that his words convinced her this was true.
"Oh, while I was out getting groceries, I came across this lovely-looking book and thought you might like it." Mother Jenova fished a thick, hardcover book out of her basket and handed it to Sephiroth. "Thank you, Mother," He said, graciously accepting it. "I shall read it right away." Mother Jenova nodded proudly before heading to the window. "I'm afraid I must go away again," She said, though Sephiroth doubted she was actually afraid. For someone who held such a dark view of the world, Mother Jenova sure enjoyed traveling through it. "I have another errand to run, this one a bit long, so don't expect me home for several days." Sephiroth kept a placid smile as he responded, "I understand, Mother, I'll simply busy myself with this book." Mother Jenova smiled widely before leaning forward and planting a kiss on his hair. "I love you so much, my child. Be well, and know that the world is a dangerous place."
With that, she was gone, having leaped out the window and levitated off somewhere. Once she was gone, Sephiroth let out a loud sigh and leaned against the wall, the new book in his lap. Several times in his childhood, he'd asked to go with her on these errands, and each time, he'd been slapped across the face and told he was an ungrateful child. "When will I get to be free?" He wondered, absently fanning himself with his book.
The answer to his question was soon; very, very soon.
Sephiroth was leaning against the window, his long hair actually trailing out of it, reading the new book Mother Jenova had gotten him. It was an adventure novel, believe it or not, and reading it increased Sephiroth's desire to explore the world himself. He was so lost in the book, he never noticed the man on horseback speeding towards his tower-prison. "Hey!" The man shouted, causing Sephiroth to jump. Mother Jenova had always told him to avoid being seen by humans, should any stumble upon his residence. At this point, it was too late, as Sephiroth and his hair were perfectly visible by this strange blonde stranger, and his horse.
"You live here?" The guy shouted, nervously glancing behind himself for a moment. Sephiroth nodded, throwing aside his book, leaning out the window, and staring at this person intently. "Who are you?" The blondie scratched his head; his horse, which was an unusual bright red, neighed loudly. "I'm Cloud," He finally answered, sounding rather afraid. "Cloud Strife, merc-for-hire. But not right now." He cast another wary glance behind him and continued, "I'm being chased by The Turks. Think you could let me hide up in that tower?"
Several questions flashed across Sephiroth's mind. Who were the Turks? What was a "merc"? And why was he talking to this suspicious, yet oddly cute stranger? He was defying every rule Mother Jenova had ever set for him--and he was liking it!
"Sure, you can hide in here," He said, gripping the windowsill excitedly. "Except...I don't know how you'd get in." Cloud groaned and ran his hand down his face.
"How do you get in and out?"
"I don't. I live with my mother who does all the errands for me."
Cloud raised an eyebrow. "Well, how does she get in and out?"
Sephiroth shook his head again. "Levitation."
"Ah." Cloud frowned thoughtfully, looking around for something he could use to scale the tower. Then, he caught sight of Sephiroth's incredibly long, shiny hair. "Hey, how strong is that hair of yours?" He asked, completely serious. Sephiroth was taken aback for a second, his brain working to process this information. Eventually, he understood what Cloud meant.
"You want....to climb up my hair?" Cloud nodded; he didn't see any other way to get up into the tower.
"Alright...umm...come a little closer, then." Cloud obeyed, making the horde trot up to the tower wall where he was met with a very long, almost rope-like coil of shimmering white hair. Clearing his throat, Cloud grasped the long bundle, put his feet on the side of the wall, and began pulling himself upwards.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow," Sephiroth winced; having a full grown man climb up a 40 foot tower using only his hair was more painful than he'd thought. However, he gritted his teeth and stood there, waiting until Cloud reached the window. Then, he took the mercenary's hand and pulled him through.
"Nice place you got," Cloud remarked, once he was inside.
"Thank you," Responded Sephiroth, as he gathered up his hair and flung it over his shoulder.
"You said you live with your mom, right? Where is she now?"
Sephiroth sighed. "She's out...running errands. Or so she says."
Cloud turned around, a curious expression on his face. "What do you mean?"
Sephiroth folded his arms, feeling both guilty and excited. He knew he shouldn't be telling a guy he just met all about his personal life, but he couldn't resis. For the first time in his life, he was talking to a real human--someone other than his mother.
"She leaves to travel and collect things, and never tells me what they're for. She won't take me with her either. I've...been stuck in this tower since the day I was born."
Cloud frowned; his brow furrowed. "Really? Wow...that sucks. If...if you like...I could get you outta here." Cloud had no idea why he said that, especially considering that he was a wanted criminal in most major cities, but something about this strange, beautiful man struck him and made him want to help him out of this trapped life he seemed to be living. Cloud watched with bated breath as Sephiroth's glistening green eyes lighten, feeling his own face heat up in the process.
"You'd do that? Take me away? Why? You don't even know me." Cloud shrugged, not sure of his own reasoning himself. "I dunno... I just kinda want to. So....uhh.?.you interested?"
Yes. Yes, he was. Sephiroth was so interested that he would have flung himself out of the window if he could, but then he remembered something Cloud had mentioned earlier.
"Aren't you being chased by...turkeys, or whatever you called them?"
"Turks," Cloud corrected, "And yeah, I am. But it's OK, cause I'm hiding up here with you, and if we do get spotted, Red XIII can outrun them easily."
"Red XIII?" Sephiroth inquired, confused.
"My horse," Cloud clarified, pointing to the window. "He used to be a warhorse--very fast and very strong. The Turks got nothin' on him."
"So who are the Turks and why are you being chased by them?"
"The Turks work for the royal family, y'know, King Vincent and Queen Lucretia. They're after me cause I'm a mercenary--someone who performs odd jobs, usually violent ones, for money. I've pissed off more people than I can count, most of em upper-classmen." He turned to Sephiroth and realized that the long haired beauty had no idea what Cloud was talking about. "Uhh...you probably don't know what any of that meant, huh?" Sephiroth shook his head, retreating to the shadowy corner and folding his arms tightly across his chest. "No worries, once things calm down a little, we'll leave this place and I'll show you what the world's like." A wide smile spread across Sephiroth's face, one of genuine happiness that filled Cloud with a sense of warmth he'd never felt before.
"That would be lovely," Sephiroth said, a tiny blush beginning to form on his face. "I'm honestly quite excited to see the world...for myself." Cloud bobbed his head in agreement, placing his hands on his hips.
"It's settled then." Cloud stuck his head out the window and surveyed the ground below. "Looks like the Turks have given up the chase--I don't hear their horses anymore." He turned back to Sephiroth, a mischevious glint in his eyes. "Let's make our escape." Sephiroth nodded excitedly--perhaps a bit too excitedly, and sidled up to the mercenary, who leaped out of the tower and landed on his horse, who neighed loudly, but was otherwise unaffected. "Jump," Cloud instructed, holding his arms out. "I'll catch you." Sephiroth clambered onto the windowsill and hesitated; the drop was long and if he missed...
"Just jump," Cloud shouted again. "Red XIII's a tough dude, he can handle it!" That wasn't exactly what Sephiroth was worried about, but whatever. Sucking in a deep breath, Sephiroth took the leap, soaring out of the tower and literally crashing into Cloud's arms. Their eyes met; for a split second, Sephiroth thought he was staring up at a handsome prince.
"Right....should we go?" Cloud asked, looking rather anxious. Sephiroth blinked, then remembered the seriousness of the situation.
"Ah, yes, of course..." He allowed Cloud to lower him to the ground, then circled over to the back of the horse. With some difficulty, he managed to scramble onto it and wrap his hands around Cloud's lean waist.
"Ready to go?" Cloud asked, his face practically on fire.
"Yes, of course."
Though there was much he had left to learn about the world, the way things worked, and Cloud, the mercenary, one thing was certain: After years, and years of longing, Sephiroth was finally free.

The Relationship Between Glenn and Rufus
[Ultimania Screenshot Removed Until Square Enix Lifts Copyright Strikes]
Glenn, a messenger from Wutai, appears often before Rufus. Though their conversations suggest that the two were old acquaintances, the exact nature of their relationship remains a mystery. Here is a summary of their meaningful exchanges and the relationship between them and Wutai as depicted in related works.
In the small box, it has some information on Rufus and Team Glenn’s connections to Wutai.
In "FVII Before Crisis", four years ago, Rufus lent a hand to the Wutai-based Avalanche.
Glenn comes into contact with Sephiroth, who was dispatched to Wutai seven years ago, in the opening of "The First Soldier" arc of "FFVII Ever Crisis".
Matt and Lucia, who were Glenn's colleagues (introduced by Yuffie in CHAPTER 7 as the "three ex-soldiers"), appear as captains in flashback scenes of the original Avalanche soldiers.
A small text wall next to Glenn’s death scene says:
When Rufus heard Glenn's name in Junon, a vision of him shooting a man flashes through his mind.
Text wall beside the “Please contact Captain Matt” dialogue says:
It appears that Matt and Lucia were participating in the operation to attack the Shinra Building.
-
Examples of Important Conversations Between Glenn and Rufus
[Ultimania Screenshot Removed Until Square Enix Lifts Copyright Strikes]
Rufus: "You're alive?"
Glenn: "Most certainly dead.”
(This was a bit of dialogue in the game that was difficult to translate. If anyone has a correction for it, please let me know. It appears that Glenn says he is “Dead, of course” to Rufus’ statement).
Rufus is surprised at Glenn's survival, and Glenn responds with a laugh. It sounds like a joking response, but based on his later words and actions, it may not be a joke at all.
-
Rufus: "The Governor will not stand on such a poor set.”
Glenn: "I see! Growing up a young master/rich kid is so bothersome.”
Rufus said these words as if he knew Sufur’s personality well. Glenn calls Sufur a rich kid/brat, but in Junon, he also mocked Rufus, saying, “Fond of (drawing) visions as ever, young master/rich kid).”
(I once again have been trying to receive help on this specific line because the connection here is how Glenn calls both Sufur and Rufus “Botchan,” which is an interesting term for a rich young master or boy. More in this in another post).
Glenn & Sephiroth: "Our 'Promised Land' will be born." Good (for you), you’ve succeeded your father.”
In the commentary scene, Sephiroth's appearance and voice overlap with Glenn, implying that Glenn's actions up to that point were in line with Sephiroth's intentions.”
Glenn: “As good at shooting people in the back as ever.”
A line that suggests that Rufus once shot Glenn in the back. It is also revealed in this scene that the person who had been thought to be Glenn was one of those in the black cloaks.
-
My translations are rough at the moment because I am hurrying, but I trust that I was able to get the essential parts accurate.
This is not much new information but I would say it confirms some things.
-
1. Glenn is dead.
2. It was a black cloak in line with Sephiroth’s intentions. Based on the other instances where black cloaks interact with Cloud with Sephiroth’s intentions, it is safe to say that this was also Sephiroth. A part of his will perhaps.
3. There is nothing suggesting that this was Jenova, as some were saying.
4. Sephiroth heavily mocks Rufus at every chance he gets and appears to hate him passionately.
5. Glenn came in contact with Sephiroth 7 years after Sephiroth was dispatched to Wutai. This is the opening of the First Soldier.
6. Rufus and the Before Crisis plot of his involvement with Avalanche has been confirmed.
