Day 43 of Tourdust:

We woke up with out mouths tasting foul, are we at the (after)life of yesterday's party? We had an eventful pre-show day, well, not so much eventful but for the peterick contingent it was... thematic, in shades of cornflower, but dark, blue.

A fair few members of foblr were in attendance tonight, and we were well fed with streams and even a liveblogging, plus the promise of videos after the fact. Strangely, we were not as hungry as I thought we'd be, not that that means we were any less excited for the meals of tonight. We've known what it is to be lost to the ravenous madness of no updates.

The theme of today was perhaps prophetic for another night of gay rights. And wrongs. Golly gee wilkers! If any of us were inspired by that, they better keep in mind not to friggin write Patrick ooc and have him swear. Gotta thank Pete for being a direct line of communication with fact checking for his and everyone else's fictional depictions of Patrick live onstage, amidst his talk of feeling like he's wearing a costume in everyday life.

Someone should take Patrick's piano away from him before he can play his dear Donnie/Golden combo again. It keeps damaging the infrastructure of foblr, we've resorted to patching it up with golden tape but who knows how long we can make it last. It certainly wouldn't withstand a "whoops, a day late but don't worry foblr, we hear you, we know you spiraled about miss missing you last concert day" imagine if that were to happen, lol.

question part 2: did ur fob thing start as a full blown obsession? Mine didn’t but when I found the foblr community I became hyperfixated on them like a major one I’d probably say that FOB has been my biggest hyperfixation this year

I wish the radio here played Bob Dylan it's one of my favorite songs by them 😭 (they never play FOB on the radio :( haha )

1. I first heard of them through MTV which I know makes me sound old but when I was younger my Mom would turn on MTV and it kept me entertained daily because watching music videos and judging the top 40 or whatever was my favorite thing to do lol. I remember the Centuries music video playing and that preoccupied the back of my mind until right before the pandemic, when I fully started getting into their music. I also loved Big Hero 6 so Immortals was an introduction too lol.

2. Yeah same here. They started off as some random band but the past 2 years especially with SMFS releasing and the tour happening, they've become my favorite band for sure.

I think I mentioned that I listen to and like their music, they've just always been (pre-your blog!) one of those bands you enjoy but don't look much deeper into. So American Beauty/American Psycho had just come out and I'd just gotten my first smart phone capable of running Spotify. I'm very shy and my best friend had dragged me to a party with her theatre friends (extremely NOT my scene but I wanted to support her.) I got a drunk and announced to everyone that FOB had a new album and I was going to play it loudly from my phone, come dance with me! (*head in my hands* OMG, I'm cringing 😂...) Surprise surprise, none of them wanted to, lol. I announced it a few more times while the album played, singing along loudly to Centuries on my own. Eventually, my friend came and took my arm in front of everyone and said I should give it up because the songs were shit anyway. I was so embarrassed and it left me feeling really sad.

 It probably sounds stupid, but because of that experience, I had this sad/bad association with the album, so I stopped listening to it. Every time I thought about playing it, I would just (1) cringe at what an ass I made of myself in front of her friends and (2) feel bitter about her "betrayal" (lol) saying the songs were shit (especially because, a few months later, she started listening to that album!!! Not so shit anymore, huh?!)

However, I think I have a happy ending :) I've been thinking of sending you this message for a while, because I do genuinely believe you'll care. While I've been typing this, I've had the album playing for the first time in years. (It's awesome!!) Writing this was therapeutic, and I think nine years is enough time for me to get over this extremely silly and not even that bad thing 😉
