Fly Me to the Moon - by Mcat (8/10)

Everybody loves a love triangle, but I personally think love lines are more dramatic. It's gross when someone you don't like is following you. Especially when you're busy trying to woo the lover you deserve. The tension is nice, and of course this love line turns into stalking. Also, everybody present is a monster. As a bonus.

She's depressed.

She's ugly.

She's poor.

She's lonely enough to accept any kind of attention.

Our protagonist looks boring as heck at first.

Jeongyeon has been stuck in the role of caregiver for too long. Her mother had cancer, and some people just can't handle that. She became feeble, angry, and spoiled. Jeongyeon had no life when her mother was alive, and now that she's dead there's nothing to...do? She just has an old house, booze, and cigarettes. Taeho is a monster. He's a demon(?) called a Clansmen. Being one is super convenient. You are born super smart. You get to live longer. You get to be pretty, but life gets complicated. The Clan is a secret. It runs like a professional sort of cult. Clan cops and doctors keep everything hushed up, and Clan politicians handle the bribes. Taeho is a piece of shit. His father was also a piece of crap, but Taeho's big brother is Leader. The leader of a huge Clansmen branch. Taegyung is a responsible and good monster guy. He's also kinda Taeho's father AND brother. The slow aging process creates alot of complex relationships. Taeho is spoiled. Everybody lets him do crime and shit because of Taegyung.

Taeho might be spoiled, but life with a brother for a dad kinda stinks. Taeho got married to please everybody. He married a perfect Clan princess, but then he killed her. Taeho is a member of the Seo branch. That means he's really powerful. So powerful that...um...when he takes a wife and has a baby said wife can go insane. His wife ATE his first child. He got angry and he ripped apart the princess. Everybody is blaming him, because he executed her without thinking about what her powerful family would do. He was a terrible husband. Her family wants his head on a plate in exchange for her death...which kinda is unfair. Her insanity wasn't really his fault...and she literally ate a baby, but he should have just captured her. Taeho was almost eaten by his mom as well...so um...yeah he was never going to be normal. Taeho and Taegyung get pressured to marry and have heirs near constantly, because they're so strong, despite the huge insanity risk.

I completely understand why this guy grew up into a bad guy, but he sucks.

He gaslights Jeongyeon. He hangs out at her place while he hides from the Clan that wants him dead. He has no idea how to be affectionate, and he treats Jeongyeon like garbage, even after he develops a crush on her.

Taegyung has to clean up Taeho's mess. Jeongyeon gets bitten. Taeho does it to punish her. To bind her to him and make her more submissive. Taegyung takes over and he does the Clan bond the proper way. Jeongyeon doesn't trust him at first, but they get along well. Taegyung doesn't want an heir because of the whole cannibal wife thing. He can't fully hate Taeho, because he should have never felt pressured to marry in the first place. He starts to realize his brother can't be saved when he gets to know Jeongyeon.

They share cigarettes. They're bonded so they feel some attraction...but nothing happens. Taegyung must marry a princess. He gets pestered about it daily. The bond doesn't mean they're married or anything. It just means Taegyung was the one who helped her body transform. Jeongyeon is prettier now and she's also rich. She gets an expense card, and Taegyung lets her leave.

The leader of the Yu Clan is still very angry. Jeongyeon suffers because she knows Taeho. Everybody assumes she's his mistress, just because Taeho didn't kill or eat her. Jeongyeon gets stalked by demons who want revenge. Taegyung doesn't hover too much, because he's worried. Being a Seo sucks. He feels immensely possessive of Jeongyeon. He tries to put duty first, and he doesn't actually want to lock her up in his mansion. He just gets the urge. It makes him feel like he's not himself.

This guy tries to kill Jeongyeon...but he's really nice. The dead princess was like a sister to him. He hates Taeho because he's a bastard that never gets punished for his crimes. In the end he protects Jeongyeon from Taeho. Taeho comes back acting like a brat right away. He demands to know why Jeongyeon bonded with his brother, which is a joke. He left her bleeding on the floor. The change would have killed her. Taegyung saved her life. Taeho made her a monster without permission, just to scare her into obeying him.

He's the most unattractive kind of yandere.

Jeongyeon eventually becomes strong enough to stand up to him on her own. She didn’t want this life. She didn’t want the money. She was just trying to rebuild after the long and painful death of her mother. Taeho made her life worse. Taegyung makes it better. The choice is obvious. Jeongyeon never wavers. She let Taeho crash on her couch because she was lonely, but no more. No more pity. She slaps him every time she meets him. She rejects the idea that abuse is love.

Chengcheng is the perfect Clan princess. She wants to marry Taegyung. She's been waiting since she turned twelve years old. She thinks she is entitled to him. She thinks Jeongyeon is just another pitiful pet project to Taegyung, just like his loser brother Taeho. She's wrong. Taegyung is getting worse by the day. He keeps fantasizing about hunting down Jeongyeon. That's just the way his bloodline is.

Taegyung starts to interfere more. He shows up whenever Jeongyeon is in trouble. He's clearly not willing to let Taeho drag her off and treat her like a pet. He wants to treat her like a princess. Everybody is shocked by how naive Jeongyeon is. She thinks Taegyung is a total gentleman, but his Clan knows he has spilled more blood than anyone else. I'm not saying he's not a nice guy. He's fair to humans and he tried his best to be a parent for Taeho, but now I think he's going to rip Taeho's face off.

Have you ever took notice of the odd mural in the dining saloon. When Eyk goes to announce the change of course to the 1st class passengers, the first shot is of him with his back towards the camera and the crowd looking at him, and over their heads is this grey mural depicting what seem to be two giants (they appear to be giants to me, at least), the Earth symbol, and the vortex of water that Ling Yi witnessed. Have you any thoughts about that? It's too peculiar to not mean anything!

broadly speaking, this is such a great example of the level of attention to detail on this show and how everything, from the writing to the costume and set design to the creepy music and sound effects, was so meticulously crafted to breathe life into this world and give us clues for how this story would unfold.

as far as the mural itself, it’s chock full of foreshadowing and references to greek mythology, but before we dive into that, it’s worth mentioning that the mural is a relief sculpture, that is, a piece of art where the figures project outward from a flat background. this sculpted marble look of the mural ties in nicely with the opening credits which shows the characters as statues:

and statues, of course, are a physical, three-dimensional representation of a moment suspended in time, which turns out to be the twist with all the countless repeating simulations. it’s such a small detail that, combined with all these other small, subtle details, really sets the mood and tone for the rest of the show. immaculate vibes, truly.

but back to the mural, here’s a clearer image that emily beecham posted on twitter (with a bit of color correction and added sharpness):

you have the two ships, prometheus and kerberos, flanking the the triangle/earth symbol (with what looks to be parents and a child in the center) in the middle of a swirling vortex, which all foreshadow the ending where the failed simulations/ships are swept up in the vortex into the graveyard.

in each of the corners, you have a significant figure from greek mythology:

starting from the top left, there is zeus with his lightning bolt, who curses prometheus to his punishment in the top right, who is ultimately saved by hercules in the bottom left, who is depicted wrestling cerberus in the last of his 12 labors. in the bottom right is nyx, the goddess of night who is mother to hypnos (sleep), oneiros (dreams), and the moirai (the three fates), to name a few, and she is feared by zeus because she is older and more powerful than him.

and finally, you have the smaller figures scattered throughout of other people being swept into the vortex, referencing both the dead passengers from the mass suicide as well as the river styx, which dead souls must cross in order to reach the underworld. the figures in the river actually reminds me specifically of the scene in disney’s hercules and the visual is incredibly effective and striking in both cases:

i’ve mentioned a lot of doom and gloom so far but rest assured there are some glimmers of hope as well.

prometheus is ultimately freed from his eternal punishment by hercules. after completing his final task of subduing cerberus, hercules is able to atone for his crime of murdering his wife and children. nyx also gave birth to aether (brightness) and hemera (day). and i have nothing nice to say about zeus.

i really love all these references to greek mythology that were woven into the show, and in fact, the story itself plays out as a greek tragedy on multiple levels as well.

if you take the ship story at face value, you have these tragic, flawed characters who are all trying to escape their own traumas who end up dying at sea while trying to help a sister ship.

if you look at it from the simulation level, the tragedy only deepens as you have these characters who are doomed to repeat the same simulation over and over again, failing every time, unable to escape their fates. it’s only at the end that it seems like maura may have broken the cycle, but there are also plenty of clues to suggest that she has only traded one simulation for another.

and of course, if you look at it from a meta level, you have this big-budget, ambitious show that was created by an acclaimed director and screenwriter duo that was well received by critics and viewers alike and was canceled with little explanation less than two months after its release.

i will never get over this so thank you anon for giving me another excuse to talk about this show.

2023 completions

welcome to the 2023 edition of my ramblings about video games i completed this year!! including even more unwanted opinions and even less coherency

total games: 37

09/01 - Sam & Max Save the World - 8/10

sam and max, freelance police, begin a long string of investigations involving hypnotised celebrities, sentient computers, and conspiracies that go all the way to the TOP, baby

startin the year off good game wise then!! tbh i started this one in 2022 but it didnt make that list cause i just.. wasnt in a game playin mood towards the end i guess fghj but anyway!! really liked this one, ive seen a few mutuals who like this series so i was excited to play it and it was a lot of fun :] defo an old school point and click game and i rly liked the main characters themselves and the supporting cast!! glad theres another remaster i can jump into right after this one

11/01 - Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me - 8/10

the crew of lonnit entertainment are invited to a recreation of the infamous murder house, the stomping grounds of americans first serial killer, h h holmes. they are hoping the location will help save their documentary, but will you be able to save... THEIR LIVES??

i feel like every dark pictures game becomes my fave dark pictures game as they come out, but this one really was Very Good. i can confidently say this is probably the most scared ive been while playing a supermassive game Ever. the characters, while dysfunctional, grew on me a lot over the course of the game which made keeping them alive even more nailbiting :’] speaking of, the deaths in this one were Particularly gruesome imo, just from a concept standpoint, so big kudos for that too!! my only gripe is that i think the new “features” such as puzzle solving and traversal mechanics just artificially prolonged the runtime without actually adding anything to the experience

15/01 - Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space - 7/10

even more weird shit is afoot in the second sam and max game, this time our duo facing off against T-H-E-M, the bermuda triangle, and satan himself!! ... or was it santa??

2 sam and max games in one month, this may have detrimental effects on my brain :’] but really, i liked this one too!! not as much as the first, but i still liked the characters and overall story, i liked how it all connected to both the previous game and the events through this one. i found some of the puzzles a bit more difficult and obtuse, but they were still fun. another fun point and click game (tho somewhat dated in some cases fghjk)

18/01 - Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments - 5/10

the game preceeding sherlock holmes: the devils daughter, which i completed last year, follows the titular character once more, solving 6 of his cases along with his partner dr john watson

eh, not much to say about this one. i certainly prefered the devils daughter, but that one was also kinda meh fghjk. with this one being an older game, the graphics and gameplay were a bit more janky, and i guess theyd changed voice actors for sherlock since this game cause i didnt like his voice in this one tbh. that being said, mystery wise id say its abt on par with the devils daughter. yeah, again, not much to say really :’]

24/01 - Psychonauts 2 - 10/10

a mole in headquarters, an evil from the past is rising again, and even MORE figments hidden in really obscure places... another day at the psychonauts office :V raz once again must delve into various brains to figure out what the Fuck is goin on

okay this game was literally so fkn good in every aspect. visually stunning, amazing story, brilliant characters both new and returning... GOD!!! what the first game did well, this one blew it CLEAN out of the water, i loved it a lot!! like idk what else to even say, it was just such a solid game i cant think of much to critisise :’]

04/02 - AI: The Somnium Files - 3/10

kaname date works for the police force for a department unknown to the general public, using groundbreaking technology, he delves into the minds of suspects and uncovers clues using their own memories. when a body shows up resembling a victim of a serial killer from a cold case, he begins his investigation

... man... spike chunsoft rly just know how to make characters that grate on me fghjk for starters ill praise the original concept and interesting story (when it finally got around to being revealed), but i disliked/was uninterested in most of the characters and thought the tropes they kept using were annoying and just plain weird. im not fully sure Why this game was a branching path type game since it never really plays into the plot and the main story could have easily been told with a single storyline. overall, didnt rly enjoy this one, but what can ya do they cant all be winners :’]

13/02 - Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus - 5/10

sly cooper, youngest descendent of the illustrious cooper thief clan, had his familys secrets stolen when he was just a lad. now he sets out to retrive what was taken from him and beat up some bad guys as he does

i gotta commend this game for the humour and the creativity with it, and im defo lookin forward to playing the rest of these games based off this one, but i think this first entry suffers from a lot of Jank that made it quite frustrating to play :’] also, there wasnt any way to mute anything except the music or adjust the volume so it would routinely blow the FUCK out of my eardrums. that bein said tho, still fun, very quick game, but im keepin it a low rating cause im expecting to like the later ones better :’]

26/02 - Hidden Agenda - 2/10

the infamous “trapper” killer makes a final confession while counting down the days on death row, claims he never killed anyone and he can help lead the police to exactly who did. detective becky marney must investige this case one more time and decide if hes lying, or if the killer is still afoot

im so so SO sorry to my friends who like this game but besties.... why fghj for starters i was locked out of playing it for almost 2 years when the app you are REQUIRED to use in order to play this thing just stopped working, and when i finally did start playing the jank didnt stop with just the app. the whole game seems to be a broken mess with textures flickering in and out, characters walking thru solid objects, its MADNESS. the story and characters are so.... not interesting :[ it takes only 2 hours to do a full runthru of the story so i never rly grew to care abt them and theyre so flat anyway that i didnt Want to. if it wasnt so clearly rushed i think itd be good, and some of the acting is actually rly stellar, but overall...... its a no from me

04/03 - Minecraft - minecraft/10

its minecraft

technically i already got the plat ages ago but this year i finally got the coveted 100% so.... yeah ;w; i mean we all know what minecraft is so like...... idk what to say abt it guys, u already know how good it is (tho the console version is Vasty inferior to pc)

05/03 - Death Stranding - 8/10

after a world ending catastrophe dubbed the death stranding wiped out modern life as we know it, humanity is scattered across america. its up to sam porter bridges, post apocalyptic delivery man, to travel across the country and unite those that remain

depsite how confusing this game was, and how slow it was paced, and how fkn damn weird it was half the time, i still had a lot of fun playing it :’] i enjoyed the characters, tho wish certain ones had more limelight, i enjoyed the actual gameplay, tho by the end game i was finding it a bit Too repetetive, and i found the story rly interesting, when i could understand what was going on fghj so basically for every good thing i liked, it was countered by something, tho they are fairly small things. also the ending cutscene is an hour n a half long and i was fkn 3 am when i was finally allowed to exit the damn game so, u know, beware of that

10/03 - Ratchet & Clank - 7/10

young mechanic ratchet, with his new buddy clank, join the galactic rangers in stopping the blargs from destroying countless planets in order to build their own

another game thats been on my backlog for ages, im glad to have this one done and dusted :’] i certainly had fun playing it, but i feel like it was a bit Too kiddy in some places for my personal taste (dialogue and humour wise that is, but since this was also made by insomniac of spiderman fame, it makes sense) and after a certain point the game becomes piss easy with all the upgrades u get, but i still enjoyed it

03/04 - Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves - 5/10

sly and his pals return to their thieving ways after learning that the infamous klaw gang have begun reassembling parts for slys arch nemesis; clockwork. they travel across the globe to stop them

man my descriptions are getting worse fghj but anyway, as with the first game, i rly enjoyed the characters!! and the music, and... thats pretty much it. i really dont know what it is about these sly games that i just cant seem to enjoy the gameplay but i Really Really dont have fun while playing them :[ which is a shame cause, like i say, great characters that id like to spend more time with. if this was supposed to be the best in the series, i think im gonna give the 3rd and 4th games a miss for now, but maybe ill come back to them in the future

29/04 - Last Day of June - 7/10

a short game depicting a young couple named carl and june, and the tragedy surrounding their relationship

this game doesnt actually have a plat, which is something im trying not to be too picky about going forward in terms of playing games, but even tho this game was super short i really liked it!! the story is rly simple but incredibly sad, and even though theres a lack of “voice acting” in the traditional sense, there was still a lot of great emotive acting in this. that being said, the fact some of the voices sounded so odd detracted from the seriousness of the plot sometimes, and the actual gameplay was kinda boring, but still a solid short game :]

29/04 - Predator Hunting Grounds - 1/10

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME

03/05 - Linger in Shadows - 1/10

this... isnt even a game apparently

i had it on my list of things to check out while i had the ps plus premium thinking it Was a game, but its not. its a strange kind of “art” thing according to the guide i used. i didnt rly know what was going on fghj. certainly a unique experience i suppose but nothing id recommend u go out of ur way to do, even if it takes literally 10 minutes to get all the trophies (no plat either)

08/05 - Kurushi - 2/10

ps1 puzzle game, another one from the ps plus catalogue

not much to say abt this one again fghj seems like these last few games have been kinda duds huh :’] ah well, theres certainly better games on the horizon i suppose. as said, this is just some puzzle game from the ps1, janky controls and all. the music is surprisingly good, sounds almost like disney instrumentals :’] not that fun without assisstance tbh

09/05 - The Gardens Between - 6/10

a very short puzzle game following 2 friends exploring a strange series of islands that tell the story of their friendship

when i say short i Mean short. like even without a guide i got this completely done in 2 1/2 hours, and that included me leaving the game on while i went to get something to eat from the kitchen. that being said, its a very cute game!! i enjoyed the puzzles, the style is nice and Capital-I-Indie, the musics nice and relaxing. the story was also nice, if sad, (can i say nice a few more times??? nice nice nice nice) but i just think this game is Wayyyy too short dfghj i think a lot more could have been done with it :’] glad i didnt pay the full £15 for this as it would have been a bit of a rip off

09/05 - Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent - 8/10

fbi agent tethers is sent out to the minnesotan town of scoggins to investigate the local eraser factory shutting down

damn we’re just flying thru em now huh! ive actually played and 100%’d this game before on steam, as well as its sequel so i suppose im a little biased :’] but i rly like this game!! another short one, and another puzzle one, but i rly love the art style and story, as well as the puzzles being fairly simple but still fun!! its a shame the second game never made it to ps or id complete that one too but yeah, fun and simple puzzle game, defo recommend :] like most games like this tho, i wish it were longer

11/05 - ABZU - 6/10

you are a diver on a journey through the ocean, discovering the creatures that inhabit the waters

short n sweet indie game (anotha one) and this one was pleasant!! i rly liked the style and music, the story was simple but told fairly well, and just overall a nice game :] beyond that, not much to say tho fghj defo a very pretty game, and id recommend if you have an interest in marine life n such, but beyond that its pretty bog standard indie game

11/05 - The Pedestrian - 5/10

a short puzzle game where you traverse various signs as the tiny person within them

pretty straight forward puzzle game with a Weird ending that i dont quite understand fghj but overall it was enjoyable :’] most of these quicker games ive been playing lately have been super quick puzzle games so i might be getting burnt out on them, but even then i can appreciate the creativity of this one. its also another game with no plat which, considering it came out not 3 years ago, is kind of annoying

14/05 - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - 4/10

two brothers venture on a quest to find medicine for their sick father

another short puzzle game, with a pretty interesting feature!! you control each brother with an analogue stick each, which can make coordination in some parts quite tricky if ur me fghj overall a pretty decent game, the story was kinda meh for me but i thought the gameplay was interesting, not much else tho

20/05 - Bloodborne - 6/10

the town of yharnam is crawling with beasts and hunters alike. fight through the corrupted streets and discover the fetid depths of this city and all the inhabitants trying super duper hard to kill you

im editing this from when i first wrote it after immediately finishing the game because i was cranky and frustrated because i cant in good faith give this game a score lower than 5 (mainly because i know the fromsoft fans would dox and kill me). this game is visually very nice, in the sense that it looks Horrible, which fits the vibe. the gothic style along with the monsters are really unique and detailed to the point where some of them are hard to look at. that being said, i personally didnt like this game. at all. i know on a “technical” level its very good, but i struggled for a Long Time to “git gud” as it were and surprisingly, dying a million times because you cant dodge within a 1/2 second window before being stun locked to death GREATLY decreased my enjoyment of this game. and thats all im gonna say about it :V

21/05 - Black Mirror - 4/10

following the suicide of his father, david gordon returns to scotland from india to inherit his familys estate. however, there are strange mysteries surrounding this house and the family who occupy it

pretty short horror/puzzle game that was pretty light on both the horror and puzzles fghj tho this game had a surprising amount of animation that looks fairly good which was a nice surprise. the characters were fine, and the story started out quite interesting but just felt a bit... weird. especially the ending, the final climax is basically just a bunch of qtes that ends really abruptly with little push back from the villain :’] for a free game i guess i cant complain too much

23/05 - Vampyr - 8/10

dr johnathan reid, recently turned vampire, has just returned home to london after serving as a field medic during the war. the streets are crawling with rogue vampires, and an epidemic is spreading quickly through the city, all while johnathan is searching for his maker

FINALLY A GAME I ENJOYED. GOD. okay so this was surprising because ive heard a lot of people call this game p mid, and maybe id think the same if it wasnt preceded by a whole bunch of Crap ive recently played, but here we are!! i really loved the chracters, i thought they were all fun and interesting, even the ones we dont meet for too long, and i also found the story super compelling!! the game Does have a bit of jank to it, with weirdly long loading times (even on the ps5) and the occassional graphical error, but otherwise i rly enjoyed this one :]

31/05 - Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - 9/10

seperated after dr nefarious begins ripping holes into other dimensions, ratchet and clank must team up with another lombax named rivet and stop the universes from collapsing altogether

man this game was so fun!! i got the whole thing done and dusted over the course of 2 days :’] the writing was still a bit cheesy for me, and as implied the play time is Outrageously low for the steep price (which i thankfully avoided cause ps plus), but the gameplay itselt was Incredibly fun and engaging!! defo a huge step up from the first game in this reboot series. i also rly loved rivet so that certainly helped :’]

02/06 - Lake - 5/10

meredith weiss, a successful programmer, moves back to her childhood town of providence oaks to fill in her her dad at his post office job. deliver mail to the residents of this lakeside town and decide how meredith wants to end her 2 week stint

pretty cute indie game i got through ps plus, i kinda wish the whole thing Was just a post delivery simulator :’] the characters are okay, the storys okay if a little eh.... i wanna say Loose?? like the plot beats (if u can call them that) feel kinda boring n half arsed. theres also a random romance option in this which feels?? out of place and doesnt actully impact anything that much. overall its an okay game, like i say the thing i found the most fun was driving around delivering post but maybe thats just my autism showing :V

13/06 - PowerWash Simulator - 10/10

i mean... kinda does what it says on the tin guys

is a 10 a bit generous?? maybe. do i particularly care?? absolutely not. this game is a 10 if ever there was one. i truly dont know how else to sell this if the idea of cleaning stuff with a powerwasher isnt immeditely appealing to you like, maybe You’re the problem :V this game also has a weird amount of lore?? which is also v fun fghj so do with that info what you will

19/06 - LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean - 7/10

a lego retelling of all 4 pirate movies, with all the usual lego bells and whistles

pretty typical lego game, so the gameplay and stuff is p fun!! ive actually never seen these movies so i didnt rly know what was goin on half the time, especially because this is an Older lego game so theres zero voice acting in this. i also had quite a few crashes and bugs while playing where i had to restart either the level or the whole game, which got annoying during the cleanup grind. overall tho, cant go wrong with a lego game tbh

17/08 - Chicory: A Colorful Tale - 9/10

after all the colour in the world disappears out of nowhere, you must go on a quest across the picnic province to restore it using a magic paintbrush

you may notice the significant time gap between the last game and this one and uhhhh ngl folks i was Not Gamin dfghj i was Tired n a lil Sad but eh what can ya do, but this was a great game to come back with!! absolutely loved this one, super adorable art style and gameplay that reminded me a LOT of toem, very similar vibes but this game is much longer imo. id give it a perfect 10 if the collectibles weren’t so horrid to find fghjk but other than that cant recommend this one enough!!

29/08 - Observation - 7/10

dr emma fisher wakes up after the space station on which she resides undergos a catastrophic failure. take control ships ai, S.A.M., and attempt to reboot the systems and find the crew, who have all mysteriously disappeared...

rly quite liked this one!! the fact u control the ships ai is a pretty interesting feature and made the interface really cool and sci-fi lookin, defo alien inspired on that front. i liked the story, even if it Did get a bit confusing, and the voice acting was also pretty stellar!! gotta dock points for some classic indie game Jank, and the fact that there isnt a whole lot goin on gameplay wise (p much entirely minigames that arent that well explained to you that u only end up doing once) but the story and overall eerie atmosphere rly saved it for me

31/08 - OMNO - 5/10

short indie game where u travel through a mystical world, solve puzzles, and meet extraordinary animals

theres indie games and then theres Indie Games, u know?? this is the latter. and thats not a bad thing!! it just means its kinda... predictable. usual fare of no voice acting, gorgeous music, simple but stylised graphics etc etc. it was pretty cute and the puzzles were fun, but some of the controls felt a bit clunky and like i say, a little boring story wise imo (but maybe ive just played too many of these types of games). perfectly middle of the road :’]

03/09 - Tacoma - 7/10

you have been sent on a mission to retrieve the ai from a ship where all the crew have seemingly vanished (sounds a bit familiar huh?? all sci fi is the same (affectionately)). explore the ship and piece together what happened to everyone

anotha one, anotha sci fi indie game :’] rly liked the story of this one!! and it was an interesting mechanic to be able to view scenes of the crew via an AR system, and then also view their files and such. despite their limited appearances, all the crew members were interesting and unique, and no spoilers but it made the ending and its lead up a lot more exciting and intense. gotta dock points for how Glitchy this game was, it crashed at one point and started stuttering so bad i had to restart it manually, and also for how short it is. still, good story, good characters

06/09 - Chicken Police: Paint it RED! - 8/10

a gritty noir point and click detective game where u play as the infamous sonny featherland, one half of the crime fighting duo, chicken police. after a nervous dame shows up on his doorstep about her mistress recieving vague threats, he realises hes gotta take just one last case

anthropamorphic detective chickens..... played TOTALLY straight, mind you. like i was actually totally blown away by this game fghjk its Completely voice acted for one, and its Pretty Fuckin Good voice acting too, the story and mystery is Really interesting, the world its set in is super gritty and deep despite how little its kinda touched on through the story, i was very surprised!! i think the ending and reveal were a bit uhh.... abelist, not to get too into spoilers, but for a noir story i guess its par for the course. still, enjoyed this one!!

08/09 - The Testament of Sherlock Holmes - 5/10

a mutilated bishop, a deadly poison, and some other shady bullshit, its another sherlock holmes game

this is actually the oldest game in the series thats avilable on ps, ive kinda gone about playing these in the exact wrong order :’] that being said, i do think this is my Least favourite of the 3 ive played thus far. like crimes & punishment, this game also has plenty of jank, and the voice acting is a lil ehhh stiff for my taste. the puzzles were fine, the story was fine, overall just Fine. this game follows 1 case rather than multiple like its sequels do

10/09 - Garfield Kart: Furious Racing - 4/10

basically a mario kart clone but with garfield :]

now i am not one who loves racing games. in fact i suck quite badly at them. so u may wonder why i have a racing game in this list and well?? im ngl i bought this game as a meme and it ended up being so hard i had to put it down for a while dfghj BUT i came back to it and after hours of sweatin and gamer rage i DID IT!!! but at what cost. the game is fun, it looks nice, tho the only real garfield references it Has are its racers, the courses are kinda bland and generic. also the trophies...... my GOD the trophies..... not even a plat btw hhhh anyway if u like racing games check it out but if u Dont then DONT

17/09 - The Last of Us: Part 1 - 8/10

in the fungusy zombie apocalypse, smuggler joel is tasked with taking an immune girl, ellie, to a group of freedom fighters to create a cure. a remake of a remake :’]

obviously its good. i mean cmon. i remember watching a playthru of the OG og game wayyy back when so i kinda knew all the plot beats, but playing it myself in this beautiful 4k ps5 remake was Glorious (dont get me wrong, i think it was totally unnessesary to remake it AGAIN but it do look pretty). i can certaily see why this game has such a cult following and got the reception it did. maybe a Tad overhyped?? maybe a tad. but still good!! gameplay is solid, story is solid, characters are solid, whats not to like?? docking points for the frankly OBSCENE price point (luckily i got mine Mega cheap but go-LLY)

03/10 - The Last of Us: Part 2 - 10/10

after a devastating loss, ellie begins a gruelling quest for revenge and runs the risk of not only losing the ones she loves, but herself as well

i mean. fuck me guys. fuck ME. if the first game is good then this one is straight up glorious. the story is Vastly improved, so much tension and grey morality and Bone Deep Agony, emotionally and physically. its just such a hugely better game, both story and gameplay wise with a Bunch of new features and they arent afraid to take you to Extremely dark places with characters we already love and brand new ones too. this games going to be sitting with me for a long time i feel

and thats it for 2023!!

kinda fell off the gaming wagon in the final few months of this year due to a variety of reasons, but lets hope i can keep gettin games off the ol’ backlog in the new year :]

Dumb "Caligari" hcs because it's that kind of night

Despite how awful he is, Caligari actually is qualified to give psychological diagnoses. However, he just gives out completely bullshit ones because he thinks it's funny and has no moral compass. Tells his patients stuff like "you have anxiety, stress, and attention issues, which means I'm diagnosing you with lycanthropy. You're a werewolf. Sorry"

Jane was a Weird Kid (tm) who, despite her parents' best efforts, always had a bit of a morbid streak. When she was a child, to shut her up during fancy dinner parties, her dad would give her one of his medical books so she'd be occupied with pictures of skeletons the whole time

Holstenwall celebrates Christmas, but they don't have a Father Christmas/Santa Claus figure. There's only Krampus.

Francis frequently comes up with shipping names between himself and Jane, or himself and Alan. Jumped out a window once when Jane asked him what "Frolsen" was

Francis will alphabetize everything.

Cesare's makeup never comes off. It's just like that. Don't question it

Francis and Jane keep a tally of how often they've heard Alan swear, which has been less than ten times. They also have a dictionary of "Alan swears," which are completely inoffensive interjections that he'll say far more frequently. They teased him for the "Alan swears," until they both accidentally started saying them in place of actual cursing.

Cesare isn't used to most foods, especially sugary ones. Ate a piece of chocolate off the ground once and actually did see the future

Most people in town have crushes on Alan, but he thinks they're all just really really nice to him. He's a super affectionate person and shows romantic interest in the same way he shows platonic love, which usually includes things like hugging, writing people poetry, sending them flowers, etc. As a result, Jane, who isn't romantically interested in Alan, thinks he likes her, while Francis, who is, thinks he only sees him as a friend. They're not a love triangle; they're just a hot mess.

Caligari keeps extra business cards in his hat. The hat is also specifically tailored to make Caligari taller than Cesare, because he's very insecure about the fact that he's shorter than him.

When the trio were kids, Alan and Jane would always play execution with Jane's dolls. Alan always wanted to play the doll that died, so he could reenact a dramatic death scene. Jane would "execute" his doll as punishment for ridiculous "crimes," such as not saying "please" and "thank you," as a way to vent her frustrations with her parents' strict rules. Francis would sit in the corner reading and ignore them the entire time.

Holstenwall has a serious crow infestation. The steep triangular rooftops don't do much to ward them off, as they always roost everywhere else. Alan loves the crows; Francis is scared of them. Cesare will sometimes grab them out of the sky with his bare hands while asleep.

The church in the middle of town is more frequently used for exorcisms than sermons. Many Holstenwall residents practice an odd strain of folk Christianity very loosely based in Biblical teachings, with very little resemblance to major Christian denominations at all. There are saints, but they're all very specific- there's a Patron Saint of Isosceles Triangles, a Patron Saint of Forgetting Dreams, etc. The town's older residents especially adhere to a number of strange traditions and superstitions, such as wearing striped neckties upside-down on Fridays to ensure good weather, despite the fact that the weather in Holstenwall is often overcast regardless. Francis has always made a point of defying local superstitions.

Alan is very accident-prone. He likes to bake, but often burns whatever he makes because he forgets he put it in the oven, leaves, and remembers at least an hour after he was supposed to take it out.

Parallels Mel & Caitlyn

I feel like I haven't properly given thought to the parallels between Mel and Caitlyn (or maybe I have in the past? but I doubt I went into that much depth).

Structurally within their "triangles" they are "the girl", the love interest who is juxtaposed against "the siblings" (though it's worth giving credit to the fact that Mel and Viktor enter Jayce's life basically at the same time, even if things get romantic with Mel only later, while Caitlyn enters Vi's life only after there's already a boatload of history between Jinx and Vi AND that unlike Jinx, Viktor imo never seems hostile and prejudiced against Mel. I would say he mostly seems to ignore her/not say much about her and at the most they have some concrete disagreements on how to handle certain things).

But I think more meaningfully, while Vi and Jinx are two female characters who a deeply defined by their complex loving relationship to their fathers, Mel and Caitlyn are two female characters who are heavily influenced by their more conflicted relationships with their mothers.

Both Caitlyn and Mel start at a place that showcases their analytical strength (Mel in her political skills as she selects the gift for the council, Caitlyn as she analyzes the crime scene), both have their moments of outburst where they want to follow a too radical approach based on negative assumptions about Zaun (Mel with the weapons, Caitlyn at first clashes with Vi a bit) and both end up changing their tune and becoming strong voices in favor of peace. And then of course both in their own way get punished in the explosion at the end of season 1.

In that way, that puts them in a very similar situation at the start of season 2, people who initially championed peace, but were directly negatively affected by violence from Zaun. Will they come to rethink their reconciliatory position? Will they go on the warpath instead?

Also, both are heavily defined by them seeing potential in a person that some people might consider beneath them (Vi and Jayce) and imo arguably trying to lift them and bring them closer, introduce them to their line of work, especially since I fully expect to some extent follow game canon here at least for a bit. Mel made Jayce her partner at the council, just like Caitlyn will aim to make Vi her partner in work as well.

When it comes to their mothers/familial relationship, Mel without a doubt had the more traumatic childhood. Caitlyn benefits from a nurturing father, if Mel had a kind father, we at this point don't know it. Both Mel and Caitlyn define themselves by choosing a very different path (Caitlyn's boots on the ground enforcering versus her mother's politicking, Mel's politicking versus her mother's violence) from their mothers. One difference here is that Caitlyn seems to have fully chosen her path, while Mel was pushed away her mother. Mel is distant from her mother, but her mother had a direct hand in just how distant (as in living actively far away), even if the story suggests that the seeds of Mel being different were already there in the beginning. Still, Mel's mother saw the seeds and actively pushed Mel away into her different path, while Caitlyn seeks her path against her mother's wishes and said mother tries to meddle with and try to control that path by trying to get Caitlyn assigned to less dangerous tasks (while it appears that Ambessa was hands off prior to showing up in Piltover).

I would argue that we see Cassandra being genuinely sympathetic towards Caitlyn and being swayed by her. While with Ambessa so far we have only her word that she did care about Mel in her own way (though I guess with the attack on the council Ambessa will get a chance to show next season whether she really cares about her daughter)

15, Favourite genre: I'd probably say fantasy. Though it's such a wide genre these days that it feels a little... well, non-specific. And if you count the sci-fi-crossover it becomes even wider. Though I gotta say I actually struggle finding new fantasy books that I truly enjoy these days because the market is so over-saturated, the last I remember truly enjoying were six of crows and crooked kingdom. It's strange to think back to my childhood when every fantasy novel felt like such a gift because so few of them got translated into Danish. That's why I learned English at a very early age.

37, The only example of your least favourite trope being written in such a way that you enjoyed it: Nix, this one threw me for a loop! I really tried to think of something, but I don’t really have tropes I’m resentful of. I am of the firm belief that people mostly just hate inferior execution of something that’s already done better before. For example I’m not overly fond of love triangles, because usually it’s treated with a lot of loud drama, but without any actual meat to it. Or is about two people obviously meant for each other, and then some guy or gal who’s just sort of there. But then novels like ‘the Wings of the Dove’ also exist. So obviously it can be done really well. (I'd be curious to hear your take on this?)

Vurszlago is a good-natured, obedient, and playful kleptomaniac who has a goofy greediness for vintage alcoholic beverages and shiny coins. He’s obnoxiously loud, overly friendly, and foul-mouthed with a habit of annoying others for fun. His alertness is nearly non-existent, and he can be quite clumsy due to his lacklustre coordination skills. He often loses his train of thought and makes irrational statements, and he’ll become belligerent and argumentative when threatened or confused.

Vurszlago is lanky and emaciated with elongated limbs and a swollen belly, and his legs end in cloven hooves and are covered in spikes. His anus is replaced with a sharp-toothed mouth and there are three mulberry wood eyes with slit pupils placed in an upside-down triangle shape on both buttcheeks. He has dry skin of key lime pie, sunset orange eyes with double amblyopia, droopy eyelids, and a flushed face. He possesses yellowed boar tusks that protrude from his lower jaw, a dangling forked tongue, and a dragon-shaped head. He also has the tail of a leopard, the ears of a brown bull, the wings of a green-breasted mango, and the horns of an antelope. He wears a necklace of pennies, purple pearls, and four-leaf clovers, and a Turkish rose-to-French lilac loincloth. Tied to Vurszlago’s red-stained leather belt is a dirty coin pouch, a ceremonial dagger, and three bottles of alcohol: rum, tequila, and vermouth.

He can easily locate lost objects, incite love within women, and grant people full knowledge on past, present, and future events.

A partir de cet instant, on ne peut plus rien savoir sur les aliées etvenues de son adversaire. Toujours est-il (et là la situation devient compliquée), que Mme Waldrove descendit dans le restaurant de l’étage inférieur, s'y écroula et mourut sans dire un mot.

UN MYSTERE Mais, voilà le point d'interrogation, que se passa-t-il, entre elle et la femme “blanche” quand la porte de la chambre était fermée? Qui est la “femme” blanche? La petite Richmond avousit au rédacteur du “Petit Journal” ce matin, qu’el'e l'avait rencontrée plusieurs fois? Comment ne savait-elle point son nom? Ou elle habitait? Pourquoi, pendant que le même rédacteur ina terrogeait Mlle Richmond, une autre négresse qui se trouvait là faisait-elle à la jeune fille, un clin d'œil entendu?

Si nous avions pu lire dans les consciences? S'agisait-il entre la “blanche’ mystérieuse mariée à un nègre et Mme Waldrore, d'une jalousis par rapport au mari? La “blanche” mystérieuse auralt-elle frappé Mme Waldrove au coeur, d'un coup de poing ou de lobe caché dans sa sacoche, sans faire de blessure visible?

Mystère qu’on ne resoudra jamais peut-étre.

About your Nancy, Robin and Steve love triangle posts, I just came with an idea.

What about Will conforting Robin?

Maybe he finds her crying alone, sit next to her and conforts her.

And maybe, Robin tells him everything, simply because she needs someone to vent to, and usually that someone is Steve, but in this case, he's part of the reason why she's suffering right now, so she can't do that with him, and so she tells Will.

And Will tells her that he gets her, he gets what it's like to love someone who you think doesn't belong to you.

He knows what it's like to be gay, and love a person of your same gender, but believing that person could never love you back because they're probably straight, and to watch them be in their happy straight relationship.

And he knows what it's like to having to let them go so they can be happy, 'cause he did the same with Mike.

And so, they cry together.

(Only, in both of their cases, that person maybe is not so straight like they believe, and maybe, JUST maybe, they could return their feelings)

I could have expressed this a lot better, but my point stands.

Ah, if being gay in Hawkins is a crime, then being in love with a Wheeler is the punishment.

I don't think Robin would open up unless she knew he's gay as well, especially not now that she feels like she's losing her best friend, the one person she trusted with her life, and is back on porcupine mode. Everyone is a dingus, a douchebag, an asshole, an idiot or a dumb little kid and Will is probably the least annoying out of Steve's babies, so I can imagine them becoming friends quickly, but there's this huge barrier that prevents them from telling each other their greatest secrets for a long time, because You Can't Trust Anyone, and so they're hesitant to rely on each other. But when they come out to each other, it's like feeling completely understood and completely safe for the first time in their lives. After years, they can breathe. And maybe then Robin asks who this guy is, that has him so deeply in love that he can't keep it to himself anymore. When he says it's Mike Wheeler, Robin's first reaction is to say "holy shit" and scare Will for a moment there, before she laughs and tells him she's in love with some Nancy Wheeler, don't know if you heard of her. It feels poetic, tragic and ridiculous at the same time. Like, what are the chances? Are the Wheelers just natural fruit magnets? Is this a curse? But Will seems to have let go of Mike a long time ago. Robin, however, feels obsession and jealousy and resentment deep in her heart and can't simply "let go" as easily as Will, it seems.

Still, it's good to have a friend she can talk to now, and who has no prejudices or biases when telling her that she'll need to let Nancy go. Someone without second intentions, someone who, unlike Steve, may actually have a point.

the one i assigned for elluka is e1! lizzie with e2! lizzie as irina and joel being kiril (so i could make the weird love triangle somehow work and erase the onesided incest 💀)

wherever you are ~ my man is cupid review?!

I first stumbled across "My Man is Cupid" (MMIC) by accident on Amazon Prime and after watching the first few episodes, I was convinced that this show had set itself up for failure because it appeared to bite more than it could chew. However, nearly two months later, I stand corrected and I have to say no other show has kept me at the edge of my seat like MMIC.

The protagonist of MMIC is Cheon Sang Hyuk, a fairy who shoots arrows and sparks an attraction between two individuals. He lives with three other fairies with the same powers including Cheon Dong Pal, Cheon Dong Chil, and Cheon Dong Koo. The quartet of fairies live under the masquerade of twenty and thirty something adult men (with the exception of Dong Chil, who sometimes turns into a dog) as punishment for a mistake Sang Hyuk made 500 years ago. He falls in love with a woman, interferes with fate, and burns his own wings in the process. When Dong attempted to shoot him with an arrow in order to save him, he misses and their wings transformed from light feather to heavy metal. Since the incident, the fairies have been diligently shooting their arrows and setting humans up and going through several phases of metamorphosis in the hope that they can restore their wings.

It is in the months preceding his last metamorphosis that Sang Hyuk comes across Oh Baek Ryeon, a 28 year old veternarian, who has never had the chance to fall in love. Baek Ryeon's love life is beset with misfortunes as every man she has tried to date throughout her live is met with a near fatal injury. In a chance meeting with a tarot reader, Baek Ryeon discovers that she has sinned in her past life and in order to repent for her sins, she must climb to the top of Inwangsan Mountain and pray for 1000 times until she can meet her soulmate, something which she dutifully complies to. Baek Ryeon and Sang Hyuk meet for the first time at a small restaurant when the inebriated Baek Ryeon mistakenly calls him "honey" and the restaurant owner forces Sang Hyuk to settle her bill and take her home. They run into each other several times after the incident and they can't stand each other. However, after Sang Hyuk saves her life from a stalker and is shockingly uninjured, Baek Ryeon (miss delulu) falls instantly for Sang Hyuk, who she affectionately calls "Superman-ssi." This sets into motion the "looks one-sided but is actually mutual romantic relationship" between both characters.

Playing in the background of Baek Ryeon and Sang Hyuk's love story is the kidnapping of Go Eun Seo, a middle aged woman, who goes missing during one of the snowiest nights of the year. Coincidentally, before her disappearance, she was last with Baek Ryeon as both women, who were complete strangers to each other, are urged by the restaurant owner to share makgeolli and jeon. Leading the investigation is homicide detective Seo Jae Hae. What connects him to the main characters is not only the murder case, but also the fact that he becomes the guardian of one of the dogs that Baek Ryeon saves and treats at her clinic. He is also romantically attracted to Baek Ryeon, resulting in a love triangle between the three individuals.

My Man is Cupid is an incredibly complex story with multiple genre threads intricately woven into the storyline. It is romantic comedy, fantasy, mystery, thriller, star crossed lovers, and reincarnation galore. It's surprising how its audacity uplifts the story rather than burdens. Its also a show that isn't scared of being seriously wacky. Characters dream about their past lives and hypnosis is treated as a legitimate way to procure crime scene evidence. The second lead becomes obsessed with unveiling the main lead's identity- even at one point in the show positing a theory that he may be an alien, though he is the lead investigator of a pressing and ongoing murder case that is desperate to be solved. If things weren't crazy enough, the last episode is a cherry on top to the absurd. Everything about this show is an oxymoron, but at the end of the day its chaos and incoherence is what makes it logical, perfect, and entertaining.

Similar to its cousin " Moon In The Day", MMIC hinges on what I call the "obscured flashback", where the flashback is intentionally revealed in bits and pieces to often mislead the viewer. This tactic alongside the hypnosis is what I believe allowed the writers to seamlessly integrate the different genres in the plot and prevented the story from over-exending itself into the serial killer storyline and failing to address the fantasy elements.

MMIC wasn't the show that I was excitedly waiting for every week, but it was the one that pleasantly surprised me when I watched it in five minute stretches during my twelve hour night shifts. Like many of the shows that have come out this winter, MMIC is not a philosophical treatise laden with symbolism on the meaning of life or love. At its best, its jumpscares mixed with how whimsical and silly a person can become when they are in love. Its an optimistic reminder that at the end of the day, we all have that one person, who we are destined to be with even when the circumstances seem impossible. Finally, for all of us "delulus", its a heartfelt tale endorsing our chaotic existence on this planet.

Give My Man is Cupid a try. I don't think you'll regret it.

The 100 rewatch 2023 ep 1.07 Live Blog

Contents Under Pressure.

The clarke/raven/finn love triangle is so soapy. blech.

Oh. Storm is here. Raven is trying to reach the Ark Station. But through a hurricane so that's hard. Clarke is being so supportive and reassuring. (that's a real relationship. Princess Mechanic forever.)

Kane is listing Abby's crimes. All punishable by death. Kane is trying to ignore the radio signals. The council voted to save Abby. Kane is bitchy saying those flashes AREN'T evidence of the kids' survival and Abby gets kicked off the council.

THAT is a signal from Raven Reyes. OH it's station wide. LOL. Everyone in the Ark hears Raven saying The 100 are alive. Ha ha. The signal is coming from earth. Kane looks gutted.

Ah it's ClLARKE on the radio. Abby's voice cracks. Ope she just lets dropped the fact that they aren't alone and Finn got stabbed by a grounder. oops. Jaha asks about Wells. No sorry. Wells is dead. :(

Bitch. You sent him down there. Don't get all pissy Jaha.

Abby is breaking up. THERES A HURRICANE BABY. A huge one. Does that cover the entire south east? Monty's moonshine is used as treatment. Monty and Jasper and Bellamy are out in the storm. No they're back. They are dragging Lincoln. "Intel."

"This is not who we are," Clarke says.

"It is now," Bellamy says. And he's right actually. But it's not really a good thing.

Clarke the medic. Abby guiding her. That's nice. Oop. Tying Lincoln up. And here's Miller. Is this the first time we seeMiller?

Octavia is defnding Lincoln. He hit Lincoln for Finn and Jasper and John and Roma. Who are dead. Yes O he speaks English and Bellamy things he'll understand.

Jaha is morose an looking at memories of Wells. Again. You sent them down there. I have never liked Jaha since he said the kids were disposable. Sorry.

Oh what was that lady's name. Diana. Thanks Jaha. She's divisive. Her people are the workers. She used to be the Chancellor. My people. Your people. Sigh. "you've activated project exodus. congratulations. you will forever be remembered as the man who brought us back to the ground."

Well. No actually. He won't. There's no one to remember him for bringing the ark home. Because they are all dead and/or sucked up into a sparkly purple alien.

I missed all Diana's maneuvering because I was thinking about how pointless it all turned out to be. Stupid season 7.

Yeah yeah. Finn will die if she moves the knife a millimeter in the wrong direction.

Oh. he wakes up as she tries to take the knife out. Yipes. I bet the grounders were not as careful taking the spear out of Jasper's chest. Wait what happened? They all got knocked off their asses but the knife is out of his chest. And he's not dead yet. But he's giving Clarke the lovey dovey eyes right in front of Raven and that is just icky.

Bell trying to get Linocln to talk. Miller finds his antidotes. "Who knows with these people." Listen. Bellamy could EASILY have been Pike. I will forever declare that Clarke's influence kept him from being like that.

Finds Lincoln's journal with a drawing of O and hatchmarks of the 100 live and dead.

Abby wants to talk with Clarke. Clarke doesn't want to talke to her. She goes up to talk to Bellamy. Tells his goon to "get the hell out of my way." "If he didn't hate us before, he does now."

Relax princess. You know the narrative never puts the weight on that term that the fandom did.

Bellamy thinks they're fighting a way and Clarke things they're not soldiers. Bellamy thinks they can't win if they don't fight. Because Lincoln is intimidating.

Finn is seizing but i gotta say I don't care. The stakes mean nothing because we know he's fine in the end. Except for being an awful person who ends up murderous. So like. That does not draw me into the narrative in retrospect.

Kane walking through the people and having all of them being angry at him does, however, have narrative and character resonance. Surprisingly. Wow. Watching Kane alter his character before our eyes. Jaha is finally doing the right thing and telling the Ark the truth. General assembly. Oh wait. This is section 17 where everyone died. Kane came to the culling site to wallow in his guilt. "If I had waited a day, two days, they'd still be alive."

He knows it was him. He was so sure. He swore an oath to protect them and instead he killed them. (ACAB)

"Pull yourself together Kane, and then get your ass to the mess hall." Okay I don't hate Jaha ALL the time. He's like a midrange fav character for me. I suppose I like him better than Jasper (sorry Jasper fans.) If I look at it that way. L was a midrange fave, too. There are lots of characters I hated more.

Clarke has figured out that the knife was poisoned. They say he doesn't understand her but he does. She's trying to force him. Now she's begging. B is going to torture him to get the antidote. O wants to say this is not who we are. Ironic considering who she became. I do not like the character development of O through the whole series. Honestly. She mostly got worse. Seeing her now and she was way better in s1 even being a bratty kid.

Now they're hitting him. No. We do not like torture. Bellay. You do not like hitting him. Clarke begging again. But he won't so B has to hit him again. Aww. B touches Clarke's shoulder to get her out of the way.

This ep is pretty good honeslty.

Jaha telling the truth. He lied about the 100. Earth is survivable. The Ark is dying. He says the culling gifted the rest of them the time they need to go to the earth. But the people still think he's lying to cover up the culling. The dude says all those people died for nothing. But he literally just said that they gave them time to find a way to get to the ground. The dude is like you don't know how we feel.

I LOST MY SON!!!!

Jaha offers the open seat to Diana Sydney. What? No election? Bad idea. She's a scum bucket.

Back to the torture. Pain is not going to make Lincoln tell the antidote. Sorry Clarke. B is not hapy. Oh no. I forgot he shoved that thing through his hand. Yikes. He tries to get Clarke to leave. Ugh. Bad. That's bad. Ugh.

Oh i forgot about this. Raven without any compunctions. Shocks him with live wires. He screams for the first time.

Oh wow. Is this necessary???

Raven crying because "He's all I have!!" O slices herself with the knife. "HE won't let me die."

B is dying. Not literally. Emotionally. HIS SISTER.

But fucking Lincoln tells her which bottle is the antidote. She won't let B touch her.

This shit is FUCKED UP. Wow.

Finn has been given the antidote. Now Clarke is crying over Finn. "I can't do this without you." UGGGGGGGHHH. I'm gonna throw up.

Oh is the hurrican passing already? Nah. That doesn't happen that quickly. It was like three hours tops and probably less.

Ugh. Clarke is being a total bitch with Aabby. "Dad's dead because of you. You turned him in. I know it. WElls told me everything before he.... He let me believe he did it so I'd hate him instead of you."

"That was never supposed to happen. Jaha was supposed to talk him out of it."

She was used to preferential treatment because Jaha had a crush on her. But he didn't offer that preferrential treatment to her husband. I'm going with season 1. And season 1 had Jaha with a thing for Abby. Even if they didn't go anywhere with it. Maybe Jaha gave it up when Wells died. But that is a narrative motivation in season 1.

Clarke takes the spike out of LIncoln's hand and tries to treat him but he won't let her. God he's stubborn. And he lets Octavia do it. Sorry Lincoln you're being creepy with the teenager. You are NOT a teenager. This is a kid man.

And O is being spiteful because O does that best. But she's so sweet to lincoln about him saving her life. and fair he did. but he was willing to sacrifice ALL of the other kids. Now he speaks english does he?

I was not expecting to not like Lincoln. This is weird. Stop looking at her like that. Ew it's creepy. I was caught up in the narrative before which makes this a romeo and juliet story. But they were both kids and LINCOLN is and has always been an adult. wtf.

UGh now finn is looking at Clarke like she's the love of his life. And CLARKE says "She needs you finn."And she wakes up Raven and says he's asking for her. Which he isn't.

Must I say it again. Dump the limp hair biscuit and hook up with Raven. PRINCESS MECHANIC RULES.

Bellamy and Clarke. Who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS FAMOUS BELLAMY QUOTE> IT's just the ends justify the means and I DO NOT AGREE.

"It's not being in charge, is it?"

Ugh Diana Sydney swearing in. HOw many eps before she betrays everyone?

OH THE BAD NEWS. We're going to the ground. NOT ALL OF US. 2237 people on the ark. Room for 700 in the dropships. They're on the titanic and there aren't enough lifeboats.

All right. That was a jam packed episode. And I have to say I liked it a lot. It didn't have any big resolutions. I suppose the knife came out of Finn. But it was a lot of character development.

Kane has his complete personality switch and goes back to his childhood spiritual center.

Abby learns that Clarke knows she told on her dad.

Jaha finds out Wells is dead and begins to slowly lose it.

O defends Lincoln and sacrifices herself to save him and Finn trusting Lincoln and the Romeon and Juliet thing starts.

Bellamy pushes himself to be this emotionless torturer because he thinks it's who he needs to be.

Clarke essentially gives up Finn in favore of Raven. Poor judgement. She should give up fin FOR Raven and both of them should dump him and sneak off to the bunker together. I am not apologizing. Bellarke isn't ready yet. They should be future ex girlfriends.

Miller takes over as Bellamy's lieutenant.

Diana Sydney, one of my least favorite characters, despite my kind of being on her side with the class issues on the ark, shows up and is giving power without any sort of vote at all.

The exodus is set up. Oh i can't wait til they get to the ground.

LOTS of character development. Lot of action.

Man if I could write this instead of them, things would be different. Wells would survive. Raven and Clarke would hook up and support each other for a while. When that broke up, amicably, Bellamy and Wells would be waiting in the wings. Yes. Raven and Wells. She never had a guy worthy of her and he never had a chance to be who he could have been. I would have LOVED to hear them argue. It would be enemies to lovers, because he was Jaha's son and a pompous ass and she was a cocky bastard who has no respect. AWESOME.

sigh. well anyway.
