It's so annoying just how right my dad can be, while still being incredibly wrong. Because, when talking about how he has to scan a QR code to petition the school to not have her classes end up as audits because she's missed x amount of days, he brought up how her grades were good in all of her classes. And we both agree that the QR thing is stupid when they don't also give a web address to do it on!(Not to mention that he got this paper today, the last day to do this). And he made a comment about how schools are just teaching us how to pass tests, how to be cogs in a machine. And he's right.

Like don't get me wrong, there are quite a few things that schools do well. But, for highschool, you have like 8 classes a day, with only one early release say where you then have like, 4. Not to mention homework, oh but if you want to do extracurriculars like soccer you have to have at least C's and no more than 6 tardies/absences that aren't excused by a doctor's note. Even though for a good half of the year you have to wake up before dawn to get to school on time(not mentioning 0 hour classes). And the other half the year you're waking up right as sunrise is starting. Which is kind of how it works at a lot of jobs.

And like, dad's right about that.

But he's also voting for a lot of the people who are the reason behind this.

He mentioned how they're taking history out of schools, and he's right, but he's voting for the people doing it.

And it's so fucking disheartening, because he can see what's wrong, he knows fundamentally what's wrong. But he doesn't seem to realize who is doing it.

And I'm not sure what to do about it either. Because he gets so irrationally angry and defensive of the people he's voting for, and I live with him because I don't have any other options. So sitting down with him and talking just isn't an option right now.

well there are currently 9/11 main line games (i shall explain) and all of them are available on modern consoles (a lot of them came out on ps3 or ps4 originally).

there are two remakes, one for yakuza 1 (a ps2 game) and one for yakuza 2 (another ps2 game), called yakuza kiwami and yakuza kiwami 2. they are actually pretty good remakes from what i’ve seen, but i haven’t played the original two. this is why i said 9/11 main line games.

they are all classic fighting games until 7, which is turn-based, i am still raging about that. gaiden isn’t though. also as you asked me about a while ago now, the guy with the spiky hair is the protagonist of 7 and he will be for 8, which is coming out january next year.

the main protagonist (table slam guy) is the or one of the protagonists in every other game (0 has two, 4 has 4, and 5 has 5).

women are written decently well, a lot, lot better than mgs, though there is about two main characters who are women per game 😭😭😭😭😭😭 not one of its strongest points but they all have clothes on!! the bare minimum we love to see it. (i will just say there is actually a fat woman who is a main-ish side character in 4, who is done pretty well!!! so hurrah!!!!)

characters are extremely well written and the writing is good for the most part, there are a couple of moments in earlier games (more 3,4 and 5) where you’re sort of shocked by how ridiculous it is, but it works decently well. i prefer the first couple of games, and then the 6+. there are a few spin-offs available in the west, being dead souls (zombie game), which is ps3 only, and lad:ishin, which is set in the 1860s (and a couple more others but i can’t think). the table slam man (kiryu) has actually started to remind me a lot of snake, and the series’ stories are actually quite similar.

talking about kiryu, he respects women!!! to the point where he refuses to ever hurt a woman, and has on many occasions beat someone up for hurting a woman. not to say he doesn’t have weird-ish female relationships, but they’re overall quite sweet and last for the game, and are then never touched upon again. they’re nowhere near a meryl-snake level catastrophe.

the games themselves aren’t too long for the most part, the longest i found being 5 (30 hours) and 7 (39 hours), but that’s including all the time fucking around doing karaoke or other things. 0 took me about 28 hours; kiwami 1 took about 22 hours (i think); kiwami 2 took me about 26 hours; 3 took 16 hours; 4 took 23 hours; 6 took 21 hours, and gaiden took 11 (it’s a lot shorter).

going back to karaoke - the amount of optional shit you can do is crazy. substories are probably the biggest thing with this, some of them being decently long and others being pretty short. they are usually quite fun and can give you a break from the story (which can at times be miserable). karaoke is probably my favourite mini-game in the series. you basically just press buttons with the right timing and it is ridiculously fun and silly. other mini-games are available, such as pool, bowling (in the earlier games), fishing, claw-machines, arcade games, DISCO (in 0 but it’s class), darts and probably some others but i can’t remember. the story can get a bit depressing, but it’s balanced out by the silliness the games also have, and surprisingly it works? in mgs, it sort of half works, you’ve got a monkey who smokes cigarettes and drinks coke and then the world is falling apart. war had changed. snake is old and dying and he cannot escape the world yet. and then johnny shits himself. comedy 👍 but with yakuza, the two different sides work together really well, especially in 0, and it ends up making sense eventually.

Alright settle in for a story ya'll cause it's a long one.

At the beginning of the week I was dancing, singing, being helpful, just smiling. But you see I just needed to recover after my family kind of took my medicine in a forced detox and almost killed me. (previous legal post if you're curious) Now today I'm screaming at everyone and wanting to end my life over a lost tablet pen.

I got into a fight with my bf and it just was the last straw. I was like I don't want to go but take me to the mental hospital. If I get into one more fight something bad will happen.

I checked myself into the hospital and agreed to do a 5150 on the agreement they wouldn't send me to Merced California's Mary Greens. The head nurse bitch there told me if I ever came back there she would never let me leave. (My wife had to fight to get me out for 3 months).

They sent me to Santa Rose Behavioral Health Clinic. At first, the place seemed nice. I even got a pamphlet of my rights. Like the nerd I am I read it.

And realized that they were breaking the law left and right.

At the beginning, I asked for a space to worship and they led me around until they straight up told me they wouldn't. I asked every nurse I could and no one would work with me. I am a filipino pagan, and my religion was destroyed by Catholics so there are no clergy or Bibles I am just trying to recreate what I can by my research of the Gods of Visaya.

I even asked legal, a woman named Dory, and she straight up told me the facility couldn't provide it and with a straight face tried to convince me that was okay. I realized she was in the pockets of the company and ended my interview with her.

I didn't get to worship until the day I was released because my pagan case manager bought the supplies herself.

I wasn't trying to find dirt. I swear. I was just trying to get through my stay. I was supposed to be there 3 days but it turned into 5? 6? I don't know. The drugs they gave me made me so foggy and I am having a lot of pain and trouble since I went there.

I explained to them I wanted as little drugs as possible. I kept a journal that was supposed to be my medical journal too (I know nerd) and I started on 600mg of gabapentin but by the end of my stay without my consent I was upped to 1200mg of gabapentin. My wife gets seizures and the most they ever put her on was 900mg. A nurse there who eavesdropped on my conversation with my wife (also illegal) tried to convince me that it was okay for me to be on as much as 1800mg of gabapentin and they put the kids on more than me. I told him that didn't sound safe.

And worst of all nurse Allon. I thought he was cool. We were having a great conversation and his wife was a gender studies major and I was excited to know more. But then the first night with him I was able to write in the hallway. The next night I wasn't even allowed to write with a crayon in my room.

You see I have bipolar which gives me an energy bunny in my soul. I usually only need 4-6 hours of sleep. They kept trying to give me trazodone which I kept telling them would interact with my latuda and give me a manic episode but they didn't even switch it to another sleeping med.

I also told them I didn't want sleeping meds. As an Asian I would prefer preventative measures such as exercise, diet, herbs, and coping skills rather than just shoving medications down my throat. Well, guess what they did.

It is illegal for the staff to medicate a patient for their own convenience.

Nurse Allon 2 nights ago decided it wasn't okay for me to write in the hallway for whatever reason. I was upset as it was 3:30 and they expected me to do nothing but read study books (with no highlighter or anything to take notes with) for 4 hours or just sit and 'think'. I demanded my usual coping mechanism because it wasn't an unreasonable request. They refused. I asked for something to go back to sleep with. They refused. They sent me to my room.

So I cried. And then that turned into praying. And then that's when things got super shitty.

Nurse Allon called my episode a tantrum. I tried to call the patients advocate line or 988 but the phones were off. They coerced me into taking a drug to go to sleep. They claim it was seroquel. But that's not what I remember. They didn't release my information in a printed sheet they gave it to me on a sticky note. But I don't remember it sounding anything like seroquel.

I did my own research and tracked it down to two possible drugs. Clonazepen or clorazepate. I'm leaning towards clorazepate because I remember a 'cl' and 'r'.

Other things in my journal from my interviews.

They do not attend to the elderly. I had to harass them into doing their jobs. They were so understaffed and overworked that they just couldn't get their breaks in or do the basics. A woman I interviewed said she came from unit 500 and an elderly woman wasn't bathed and basically sat in her shit for 3 days and no one cared.

A homeless woman who wants to remain anonymous and is my friend is trapped there. She has been held there for 2 weeks without justifiable cause. A nurse named Nikki agreed and told us both that. This facility gets $2000 every day we stay there and more money for each drug.

That woman's drug chart is a fucking mess. She's on 1200mg of lithium. They're going to kill her or break her brain.

My dudes what do I do? What steps do I take?

My current plan is to gather more evidence. I want to go to each of the individuals that left bad reviews and explain to them I want to do a class action lawsuit not for money for myself (though I need to cover the cost of my lawyer) but that I want to sue that corporation into properly investing its funds so that we don't have paper thin blankets and the cheapest art supplies that never get updated.

I'm suing the hospital not for personal money, but to make sure the funds go back into the facility so it is properly run. the staff is properly paid and that there is enough of them for the patients care, that they do not use the cheapest materials, are not retaliatory to mentally ill episodes and are properly trained, and that everyone has the right to worship as they please. I want the rules to reflect fairness and kindness. I don't want this hierarchy of 'good patients' versus 'bad patients' and so much more. For the Gods sakes. We didn't even have windows to look outside. Why is sunshine a priviliege?

First Week of Class!

Tuesday Jan 31st:

First day of class!! The SAI 15-week program requires all the students to take one 3-week class that meets M-F. I like this because it helps us ease into our semester abroad. However, my class is from 3:20-6:15 pm, which is the longest and latest I have ever had a class in college. But that's why I’m here, to experience change and step out of my comfort zone. 

I am taking Cultural Introduction to Italy as my 3-week course! It consists of Italian history, geography, culture, and language. In each lesson, we learn Italian, and some days we walk around Florence to markets and squares. 

For breakfast, Ari, Kailey, and I walked to get coffee and ended up nearby at VerdOliva. I got a brioche salata. After breakfast, we went our separate ways, them to class and me to the Boboli Gardens. I think it was actually the warmest it has been and combined with all the steps and hills, I started getting hot in the sun. It was perfect weather to see the gardens. The gardens are massive. The view of the city was spectacular. I felt like I could spend three hours in the gardens and still not see it all.

I left for class around 2:45 pm because I wanted to be early. The lecture didn’t last the full 3 hours because we had two ten-minute breaks during which I talked to Ava next to me. We went over the syllabus first, then began the first lesson. We learned about Italian geography and how it has changed from the Roman times. I also learned that to be more formal when greeting someone, you should say salve instead of ciao. My professor ended class early at 6:00 pm, and I walked with Ava along the Arno River to go home because we live close to each other.

Wednesday Feb 1st:

The lecture was interesting because we learned more about the history of Tuscany and Rome. I learned that Florence was the capital of Italy for only five years because it wasn’t a practical location. We also walked to the David statue replica and saw a café in Piazza della Repubblica that has been around since 1773, which is crazy! 

At 6:00 pm, Emma and I took a taxi to the Fiorentina soccer game and got our American hot dogs (ketchup & mayo; the only other food was popcorn). The team won 2-0! It was a bit chilly, but it could have been worse. Overall, I think it was worth the 12 euros and the experience.

Thursday Feb 2nd:

I left my apartment at 10:30 am to walk to Piazza dell'Indipendenza to meet the other students for Florentine gold leafing, and then we walked over to Vino & Vinci. It’s a paint-and-sip type of art studio run by two American sisters. They taught us about the history of gold leafing and demonstrated how to do it. My gold leafing of the fleur de lis (the symbol of Florence) turned out better than I expected!

My thoughts on class so far are that it has been great! We have assigned readings, but we don’t have assignments due every day. I feel a bit hungry toward the end of the lecture, but I am getting used to it. And it is dark when I leave class, but it’s nice to see the city at night, and there are many people around. Ponte Vecchio and the river look beautiful at night.

Friday Feb 3rd:

I started my day by cleaning the apartment and going to Conad for groceries. I  read my textbook a bit because I have assigned readings as homework. I walked to class at 2:45 pm (the path is becoming clearer to me now, but I still use Apple Maps). We had a quick lecture, under an hour, because we were walking to Piazzale Michelangelo. I learned that during WWII, Ponte Vecchio was the only bridge spared from bombing because the German general thought it was too beautiful to destroy. My class walked first to Piazzale Michelangelo and then to San Miniato church. The church opened in 1018, and it amazes me how beautiful it still looks inside.

When I came home from class, Ari, Kailey, Emma, and I booked a train and Airbnb for Venice for Saturday and Sunday (Feb 4-5). Very spontaneous, when I woke up that morning, we had no plans.

Changing My Life Before the New Year

I have struggled for many years with confidence, my body, self love, and self control when it comes to food and “glowing up.” Next year I turn 23, and I want it to be my best year yet. So, in order to do that. I want to incorporate some daily habits and have some goals!

Along with tracking my strength levels, sleep, and body shape using measurements, I’m also going to be keeping track of how I feel and other things on this blog. This is entirely for me to keep myself accountable and nothing else!

So, here are the habits I want to incorporate:

1. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. This one is probably the most important of all. Since I wake up at 4:30, I need to be asleep by 8:30 every night, meaning I should get in bed around 7:30 so I can slow down and get ready for sleep.

2. Eat a healthy breakfast and lunch. One of the things that has really messed with my confidence when it comes to diet/food is dinner. I live at home with my family still, so I don’t always have control of dinner. But, I can control what I have for breakfast and lunch, and then dinner will just be what it is. That way, I don’t feel guilty when my dinner isn’t the healthiest because I don’t control it often

3. Workout daily. This includes a 45 minute strength/toning workout, plus I want to start getting more steps in, which means a walk when I get home from work or after dinner, either outside or on the treadmill depending on the weather. I also want to commit to going to spin class once a week so I get everything out of my membership at CycleBar.

4. Drink at least 64 oz of water every single day. I have a 32 oz water bottle, so I just need to drink 2 of them a day at least. Since I started working in the lab, it is difficult for me to drink water since I can’t have it right next to me. I have my phone send me reminders once an hour to go to drink water. I want this to also mean I don’t drink soda or alcohol anymore either.

5. Stick to a good self-care routine. I have a pretty decent self-care routine established already, but I want to add to it to include stretching every day, hair care, keeping up with good skin care, and having one day a week where I do something for myself (facial, getting nails done, massage, sauna, etc.)

6. Work on saving more money. This is going to take place more after my trip to Chicago this week. But, the plan is to keep $500 in my checking after every paycheck, and putting the rest in savings. So, if I get my paycheck and I currently have $250 in my checking, I will keep an extra $250 in there from my paycheck to bring it up to $500, and then put the rest into my savings. That way, I feel like I have enough that I can still get things when I want them, but I’m limited enough that I can’t go crazy.

7. Practice self-love affirmations more often. I made a vision board and on that vision board there are self love affirmations. I also think I am going to start listening to self love affirmations in the morning when I wake up.

8. Practice gratitude daily. I recently got an app called “gratitude” that gives you prompts twice daily to either reflect on or express gratitude for, and I have been doing it consistently for a month. I want to keep that up.

So, without further ado:

Sleep: like 6 hours + a nap

Breakfast/Lunch: Not good, will start better off tomorrow

Workout: Did not workout today, but it was my rest day for the week

Water: Did not meet my goal

Saving money: I already ordered Christmas presents for my loved ones, with the exception of one gift, so also it’s nice I don’t have to worry about that

Afirmations: I did read my affirmations today and looked at my vision board!

Gratitude: used my gratitude app twice today!

Ashen husks rise from the corpses of those who succumbed to thirst in the desert. They can often be found among the ruined wagons of caravans gone astray, as lone wanderers, or as victims of monsters whose own ability spread desiccation. Their papery skin conceals bone-hard limbs, able to deliver life-draining necromantic energy to their foes. Merely being close to one of these creatures sucks the moisture from one’s body, leaving them dehydrated and weakened. Ashen husks stand around 6 feet tall and weigh about 140 pounds.

#4: Ah Puch, Horrific God of Decay

Welcome back, gods and goddesses!

Today, we take a quick peek into the domain of death with Ah Puch (pronounced either ah-POOCH or ah-puh-ASH), one of many Maya gods of death residing in the cold and dark afterlife called Xibalba. We know very little of Ah Puch (as is the case with a lot of Maya and other Mesoamerican gods), but from several texts we do have, we can learn he was known as "Ruler of the North" and that he was later banished for breaking his promise to the Maya king. But let's see what SMITE tells us about him!

Next time: Here comes the Sun... Is it a dog? Is it black ninja fire? No, it's...

As always, let's see what we need for Ah Puch to sow decay and death around:

Corpses: We need to do all kinds of freaky stuff with corpses of our enemies (including but not limited to: animating them, exploding them, making them heal us).

Decay: Related to the previous one. Area damage from miasma is another technique we need to implement.

High Area Damage: Ah Puch's Ultimate skill is a large AoE that summons the dead to rush the enemies. We need to find a way to empty the crypts en masse.

--- Once again, we're gonna play around a little bit. None of the established races fits Ah Puch... we could've picked Fallen Aasimar for that spark of divinity and a smell of the underworld, but let's follow the previous build's example and turn to the Wizards' Unearthed Arcana playtest material. This time, Gothic Lineages from 2021!

Ah Puch is a Reborn creature. This gives us a double creature - it lets us force a Wisdom saving throw on a target and paralyse them if they fail. Remember, it only works on humanoids; it will not stop animals, monsters, dragons, etc.g speed, 60 feet of Darkvision, and two languages – Common and one of our choosing. We also get to add a +2 and +1 to any of our ability scores. Let's get +2 Wisdom and +1 Intelligence.

There are two key features Reborn creatures get. First is Deathless Nature, which gives us several benefits:

Resistance to poison damage;

Advantage on saving throws and being poisoned;

We don't need to eat, drink, sleep, or breathe;

Magic cannot put us to sleep. Similar to elves, we can finish our long rest in 4 hours instead of 8 by remaining in a motionless state.

We also get Knowledge from the Past, which doesn't necessarily fit Ah Puch's lore, but it's too good to pass on. We get a pool of d6 dice equal to our proficiency bonus. When we make an ability check that uses a skill, we can roll a d6 and add the number to the result. We get all of the dice back when finishing a long rest.

Ah Puch walks the world of the living far and wide, so making him an Outlander seems like a good choice. We get proficiency in Athletics and Survival skills, proficiency with one musical instrument, and we get to learn one more language. We also get the Wanderer feature, which gives us photographic memory when it comes to geographical features and nearby terrain.

ABILITY SCORES

We start with Intelligence and Wisdom for our two best scores. Then follow it with Constitution, because spellcasters need those Hit Points, then Charisma for when we need to scare somebody into the afterlife, and we're gonna finish it with Dexterity and Strength.

CLASS

Level 1 - Druid: Some of you probably can see where this is going. Yes, I am that predictable. OR AM I!?

Ekhm... Our Hit Dice is a d8, we start with Hit Points of 8 + CON mod. We get proficiencies with light armour, medium armour and shields (with a note that druids will not wear armour or use shields made of metal), as well as clubs, daggers, darts, javelins, maces, quarterstaffs, scimitars, sickles, slings, spears and Herbalism kit. Our saving throws are Wisdom and Intelligence and we get to choose two class skills; let's get Insight and Medicine.

At the first level, we learn yet another language – Druidic – which is unreadable for anybody but other druids, unless by means of magic. We also get Spellcasting from the very start. For our two cantrips, Shillelagh transforms our staff (we got one from our Wanderer background) into a magical weapon for 1 minute and lets us use our Wisdom modifier instead of Strength when attacking with it. Poison Spray creates a puff of toxic gas within 10 feet range. The target must make a Constitution saving throw or suffer 1d12 poison damage.

At the first level, we get two 1st-level spell slots and we can have four 1st-level spells prepared:

Charm Person targets a single creature; if it fails a Wisdom saving throw, it is charmed for 1 hour (no concentration needed). A "charmed" creature cannot directly or indirectly attack us, and we get an advantage on any ability checks while interacting with it. Remember, it's not a mindless control, and the creature realizes it was charmed when the spell ends.

Earth Tremor forces targets in 10 feet range to make a Dexterity saving throw, or take 1d6 bludgeoning damage and fall prone from the ground shaking.

Fog Cloud creates a 20-foot-radius sphere of fog centred on a point within 120 feet from us. It lasts for 1 hour (concentration) and is a great way to either obscure our movement or to sneak up to the enemy.

Detect Poison and Disease lasts for 10 minutes (concentration) and shows us any and all poisonous things and diseased creatures within 30 feet from us. It also lets us identify the kind of poison and disease.

Level 2 - Druid: Next level of Druid gives us their signature ability – Wild Shape. This lets us assume the form of an animal and the CR of the animals we can turn into increases at the 4th and 8th level. This doesn't necessarily work for us, who make Ah Puch, but there is another option: Wild Companion from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything lets us burn one usage of our Wild Shape to summon a creature to our side as per the Find Familiar spell.

We get another 1-st level spell: Faerie Fire summons colourful flames in 20-foot-cube that stick to all inanimate objects and creatures that fail their Dexterity saving throw. For 1 minute (concentration) any attacks against creatures and objects affected by the fire get an advantage, and the targets cannot benefit from concealing effects, such as invisibility.

At the second druid level, we get to pick our Druid Circle and for Ah Puch, there is nothing better than the Circle of Spores. Those who find beauty in fungi and moulds are perfect subjects for the Lord of Decay. When we pick this Circle, we learn the Chill Touch cantrip, with more spells coming to us at later levels.

Our first Circle feature is Halo of Spores. We are surrounded by microscopic necrotic spores that are harmless unless we activate them. When a creature moves within 10 feet of us, we can use a reaction to deal 1d4 necrotic damage to it, unless it makes a Constitution saving throw.

We also get the Symbiotic Entity feature, which lets us channel some more magic into our Spores. As an action, we can sacrifice one Wild Shape use to gain 4 Temporary Hit Points for every Druid level. We also get an additional dice roll for our Halo of Spores and if we have a melee weapon, it deals additional 1d6 necrotic damage to any target it hits. Those benefits last for 10 minutes, until we lose all Temporary Hit Points, or until we use Wild Shape again.

Level 3 - Druid: At this stage, we don't get any new class features. It's focused mostly on spells:

From our subclass, we get two spells - Blindness/Deafness, which does exactly what it says if the target fails their Constitution saving throw, and Gentle Repose, which prevents the target from decaying and becoming undead.

We unlock 2nd-spell slots, which means we can get Hold Person - it lets us force a Wisdom saving throw on a target and paralyze them if they fail. Remember, it only works on humanoids; it will not stop animals, monsters, dragons, etc.

Level 4 - Druid: Our Wild Shape improves, we can now assume a form of a 1/2 CR creature (such as a crocodile, a shark, an ape, etc.) without flying speed. We also get our first Ability Score Improvement of the build! Let's raise our Wisdom by 2.

We get two more spells, since raising our Wisdom puts us at 18.

Locate Animals and Plants lets us name a specific kind of plant or animal and notifies us of its position within 5 miles of us.

Healing Spirit summons a small nature spirit to soothe the wounds of an ally who walks into its range.

Level 5 - Druid: We don't get new class features, but we get to unlock 3rd-level spell slots. For this, Revivify brings back to life a creature that died within 1 minute of casting the spell. It consumes a diamond worth at least 300 gold pieces, so remember to hit up a jeweller whenever stopping at a town.

Feign Death lets us touch a willing creature (or ourselves) and put it into a state indistinguishable from death. The target is blinded, incapacitated and its speed is 0. It has resistance to all damage except psychic.

Our subclass gives us two extra spells: Animate Dead lets us bring a pile of bones or a corpse for our temporary service as a skeleton or a zombie for 24 hours. Gaseous Form transforms us (or a willing creature) into smoke. For 1 hour (concentration), we get a flying speed of 10 feet, we have resistance to non-magical damage, and we can slip through openings even 1 inch in diameter.

Level 6 - Druid: We get another subclass feature. Fungal Infestation lets us infest a Small or Medium corpse with our necrotic spores and animate it. The animated creature comes back to life with 1 Hit Point and obeys us for 1 hour after which it crumbles away and dies again. We can use this feature a number of times equal to our Wisdom modifier and we regain the uses when finishing a long rest.

We get another spell - Barkskin turns our skin into rigid, rough, and tree-like. For the duration (1 hour, concentration), our AC cannot be lower than 16.

Level 7 - Wizard

Come on, be honest, who saw that coming? :D

Time to play with some magic bois! Picking the first level in Wizard gives us 4 + our CON modifier of Hit Points, no extra proficiencies, but we do get Arcane Recovery, which lets us regain some spell slots the combined level of which is equal to half of our Wizard level (rounded up) and they cannot be 6th level or higher. For now, it will let us recover 1st-level slots, but we'll make it useful later.

We also get three more cantrips from the Wizard (yes, they stack when you multiclass!):

Fire Bolt hurls a mote of fire, which deals 1d10 fire damage on a successful hit.

Ray of Frost deals 1d8 cold damage on a successful hit and reduces the target's speed by 10 feet.

Toll the Dead forces a Wisdom saving throw on one target and deals 1d8 necrotic damage on a failed save. If the target misses any Hit Points, they instead receive 1d12 necrotic damage.

1st level Wizards get to pick six 1st-level spells at the very beginning. I'm not gonna describe all of them because it would take forever, so let me just list the ones we should get:

Level 8 - Wizard: At this level, we get to pick our Arcane Tradition and to nobody's surprise we pick School of Necromancy. We get Necromancy Savant, which halves the cost and time of writing spells in our spellbook, and we double down on death magic with Grim Harvest - whenever we kill a target with a spell of 1st level or higher, we regain Hit Points equal to 2x that spell's level (or 3x if it's a Necromancy type spell).

Every time we gain a Wizard level, we can learn two new spells. For this one, let's get Shield for some extra AC in a clutch, and Witch Bolt.

Level 9 - Wizard: Since we get access to Wizard's 2nd-level spells here, let's pick Ray of Enfeeblement which lowers the target's damage dealing by half, and Spider Climb for some better mobility.

Level 10 - Wizard: For our halfway point, we get our next Ability Score Improvement. Let's bump up Constitution for better Hit Points and put the second point in Intelligence.

We get another cantrip, so let's get Infestation, to conjure some nasty creepy crawlies on those who fail their Constitution saving throw.

We also get two more 2nd-level spells: See Invisibility lets us detect all invisible creatures within our field of view for 1 hour (no concentration required). Phantasmal Force is a personalized illusion, which creates a creature, object or another phenomenon, perceivable only by a target that fails their Intelligence saving throw. Flavour it as threatening the target with being dragged to Hell, or their hands shrivelling up and decaying, etc.

Level 11 - Wizard: No new class features, but we do get 3rd-level spell slots unlocked. For this one, we can get Bestow Curse - which affects a target who fails their Wisdom saving throw. The curse produces several effects:

We pick one ability score. For 1 minute (concentration), the target has a disadvantage on all checks and saving throws using that ability;

Their attack rolls against us gain disadvantage;

At the start of each turn they have to make a Wisdom saving throw, or completely lose their turn doing nothing;

While the target is cursed, our attacks against them deal extra 1d8 necrotic damage

For our second spell, Spirit Shroud uses a bonus action to summon a horde of ghosts circling around us for 1 minute (concentration). Until the spell ends, every attack we make within 10 feet of us deals extra 1d8 radiant, cold, or necrotic damage (our choice). Additionally, any creature hit by this extra damage cannot heal until the start of our next turn AND any creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of us has its speed reduced by 10, until the start of our next turn.

Level 12 - Wizard: At this level, we get the subclass upgrade - Undead Thralls. Normally, it would give us the Animate Dead spell for free, but we already know that one because of our Druid subclass spells; therefore, I would just give that spell the upgrade mentioned here. When we cast Animate Dead henceforth:

We can target one additional pile of bones, or a corpse, for two thralls to control at the same time;

Our thralls' Hit Points are increased by our Wizard level;

The thralls can add our proficiency bonus to their weapon attacks

We also get two more spells: Summon Shadowspawn calls forth a shadowy wraith in an unoccupied space within 90 feet from us. We get to choose between three types of shadows (Fury, Despair, and Fear). To further enhance our Army of the Dead, Summon Undead works in a similar way, except it summons an Undead Spirit, also with three types (Ghostly, Putrid, or Skeletal). Both spells come from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Level 13 - Wizard: No class features, but we do unlock 4th-level spells here, so let's add two of those: Blight causes a wave of necromantic energy to strike one target; they have to make a Constitution saving throw or take 8d8 necrotic damage (half damage on a successful save). If we target a plant creature or a magical plant, it takes maximum damage. If we target a regular non-magical plant, it withers automatically.

Sickening Radiance creates a 30-foot-radius sphere of necrotic energy within 120 feet of us. When a creature enters the sphere starts its turn there, it must make a Concentration saving throw or take 4d10 points of necrotic damage, suffer one level of exhaustion (i.e. disadvantage on ability check) AND glow like the fresh rivers of Chernobyl, which also prevents them from becoming invisible, for 10 minutes (concentration).

Level 14 - Wizard: We get another ASI at this level. Let's go for Intelligence and Constitution for some better casting ability and HP.

For our spells, Banishment forces a creature to disappear from the Plane of Existence it currently resides in, provided it fails a Charisma saving throw. If the creature is native to the Plane we're banishing it from (e.g. a bugbear in the Material Plane), it is transported to a pocket dimension for the spell's duration (1 minute, concentration) and reappears in the space it left. If the creature is not native to the Plane we're banishing it from (e.g. a fire elemental in the Material Plane), it returns to its home plane and doesn't return, provided we manage to hold the spell without breaking the concentration for 1 minute.

Phantasmal Killer is similar in mechanics to Phantasmal Force, except here if the target fails its Wisdom saving throw, it is frightened for the duration (1 minute, concentration) and it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw every turn or take 4d10 psychic damage.

Level 15 - Wizard: No new class features, just spells. We unlock 5th-level spell slots, which gives us a few new delicious death-themed magicks:

Danse Macabre lets us animated up to five corpses to raise as either a skeleton or a zombie. They obey our command for 1 hour (concentration) and as a bonus action, we can issue a command that all five of them will execute.

Negative Energy Flood sends out lashes of necrotic energy at a single target. It must make a Constitution saving throw or suffer 5d12 necrotic damage (half damage on a successful save). If the creature is killed with that spell, it comes back as a zombie albeit not under our control. If we target an undead creature with this spell, it gets half of 5d12 Temporary Hit Points.

Level 16 - Wizard: This level gives us our second-to-last subclass feature - Inured to Undeath. We now gain resistance to necrotic damage and our maximum Hit Points cannot be reduced.

We get our final cantrip - Mind Sliver, which forces an Intelligence saving throw on one target. On an unsuccessful save, the target suffers 1d6 psychic damage (3d6 in our case, because of lv. 16) and must subtract 1d4 on its next saving throw made before the start of our next turn.

For this level's spells, we take Enervation, which deals 4d8 necrotic damage on an unsuccessful save, and it lets us trigger 4d8 necrotic damage every turn for the spell's duration (1 minute, concentration). It takes an action to activate the automatic damage, and the spell ends if the target leaves its range (60 feet) or is behind a full cover.

Hold Monster is the same as Hold Person but can be used to paralyse beasts, monstrosities, aberrations, etc. It cannot be used against the undead, but we've got those under control.

Level 17 - Wizard: Once again, no new class features, but we do unlock 6th-level spell slots. For this, let's take Create Undead which does exactly what it says on the packaging; up to three corpses become ghouls under our control for 24 hours. We can extend the control over them indefinitely if we continue to re-cast the spell before the current 24 hours end.

Magic Jar is the closest thing D&D players have to become a lich and let's be honest - Ah Puch is the closest SMITE players have to a lich. The spell rips our soul from our body and stores it in a pre-prepared container for as long as we desire. We cannot do anything while we're stored inside a container, except attempting to possess a humanoid body within 100 feet of us. We can jump bodies as many times as we desire but if we decide to jump back to our own body and we're 100 feet or further away from it, we die.

Level 18 - Wizard: For our last ASI, we'll max our Intelligence to 20.

For this level's spells, we'll grab Contingency, which acts as a sort of failsafe program; we can pick a 5th-level or lower spell and select conditions for its activation (e.g. "cast water breathing as soon as the head is submerged in water or similar liquid").

Soul Cage allows us to use a reaction to snatch the recently deceased humanoid's soul and store it in a tiny silver cage. It is another "lich" spell, as it allows us to utilize the captured soul in several ways: we can regain Hit Points, ask a question, etc.

Level 19 - Wizard: Here is where we receive our 7th-level spell slots. However, there isn't that many 7th-level spells we need. Instead, let's pick two more 6th-level spells:

Disintegrate is a concentrated ray of green energy that strikes one target within 60 feet from us. If the target is a living creature, they must make a Dexterity saving throw, or take 10d6+40 points of necrotic damage. If the target is reduced to 0 HP with this spell, it turns to dust immediately and can be only brought back via True Resurrection or Wish spells. The spell can be also used to destroy inanimate objects and magic constructs, such as barriers.

Guards and Wards is a powerful protection spell that transforms our resting place into a secured fortress (after all, we're the Death God of Xibalba, we need to have our own stronghold). We create a ward that protects an area up to 2.500 square feet of floor space, up to 20 feet tall. Within the protected area, all corridors are filled with dense fog, all doors and windows are sealed and locked, and all stairs are covered in sticky webs. The protection lasts for 24 hours (no concentration), but if the spell is cast on the same area every day for a year, it becomes permanent.

Level 20 - Wizard: For our capstone, we get another subclass feature. With Command Undead we can now bind all undead to our control, even those created by other wizards. As an action, we can choose one undead within 60 feet of us; it has to fail a Charisma saving throw against our Spell Save DC, or be friendly towards us and obey our commands until we use the feature again.

For our final two spells, let's move to 7th-level:

Finger of Death causes a blast of necromantic energy to pierce a single target. The target must make a Constitution saving throw or take 7d8+30 necrotic damage (half damage on a successful save). A humanoid killed by this spell rises back as a zombie permanently under our control.

Power Word: Pain targets every creature within 60 feet of us. If they have 100 Hit Points or less, they feel immense pain throughout their bodies. While affected, the creature's speed cannot be higher than 10, it has a disadvantage on all rolls (skill checks, attacks, saving throws) except Constitution, and it prevents any spellcasting unless the target succeeds on a Consitution saving throw. At the end of its turn, a creature can make a Constitution saving throw to shake off the spell's effect.

Now, let's see what we got from making the Death God of Decay.

First off, we've got cantrips for days, 20 Intelligence and 18 Wisdom, various types of corpses on our beck and call, and enough death-related spells to put a few liches to shame.

Unfortunately, we barely scratch the surface of 100 Hit Points, and we gotta manage two casting classes with two casting abilities. Our Charisma score is also not that good, so those saving throws might be difficult for us.

Getting into the ✨K-Arts ✨ Design Department...

...as an AMA+ Scholar! 

Before proceeding, please check if your country is eligible for the AMA+ Scholarship of Korea National University of Arts (en.karts.ac.kr)!

Note: these are my experience in the application process and current life as K-Arts Masters of Design Student! YMMV :) Also, I won’t be putting information that’s already in the K-Arts website.

I actually have no idea how I got into  K-Arts. I'm also not sure how they graded our application, but we were able to see our grades. I don't remember mine exactly but it’s around 90%..? However, I think your grading process depends on each department! 

(STILL WRITING IT! WILL ADD MORE TIPS AND LIFE IN K-ARTS TIDBITS ^^)

Applying to the K-Arts Design Department as an AMA+ Scholar:

1. Korean Language: 

At least TOPIK Level 3, and should be able to already converse or understand intermediate Korean (CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, your Korean ability will affect your quality of life as a K-Arts scholar).

2. Regarding past grades:

I actually think that other than school grades, the most important part of the application is your portfolio, study plan, and Korean skill level. 

3. For self-introduction: 

I really didn't do anything special about it but I did put:

- Why I wanted to study or why I studied graphic design,

- why I wanted to study design in Korea,

- Why do K-Arts need me as their scholar. I think this is important. Change your mindset, K-Arts NEED you because _________________. I think this can help you write your self-introduction better.

I suggest that you just be sincere with this personal introduction, and spice it up a bit. But don’t lie! 

4. For the study plan: 

Instead of writing vague plans like “I will study Korean language or I will find a job after graduation” or “I will look for an internship” or anything like that, I suggest that you make very specific plans.

For my study plan is I created a project proposal. Complete with research background, objectives, target users, 2-year project timeline, and my future plans about my project. 

I also wrote about my plans in Korea after graduation, the specific companies I want to work in, and how my education in K-Arts will make me a designer that can help Korea and my country.  

5. Portfolio: 

You don't need to put a lot of your projects, you just need to pick the ones that you're really proud of and you think will make you stand out from the other portfolios. I also have other illustration and painting projects but I did not put it in my portfolio because I am applying for the visual communication program.

Life in K-Arts

1. Intensive Korean Course (October - February)

Before entering K-Arts, you need to study Korean first for at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, which is the university beside K-Arts. You will take a level test and do intensive Korean classes for about 2 months with other AMA+ scholars. That's 8 hours a day everyday. 

And then after that you will take another level test, study again for two more months... but this time you will only study for 4 hours a day, and with the other foreign students who enrolled in HUFS, not necessarily just AMA+ scholars.

When you pass your language course, you can start your first semester in K-Arts.

2. Dorm Life

You can choose to live in the dorm or you can choose to live outside. It depends on you but the dorm fees are of course cheaper, around 200-350$ a month, and currently there are 2-person rooms and single room dorms. I live in the single one and pay $350/month. If you live outside, you need to pay around $400~ above plus deposit (around $1000-$5000) and utilities (around $50). So the dorms is definitely cheaper. 

Two Christmases have passed but I still can’t go home due to Corona :(

3. Part-time jobs

You can get a part-time job 6 months after living in Korea. For those with TOPIK 0 to 3, you can only do 15 hours a week but if you have TOPIK 4 and above, you can do up to 30 hours a week, and work for as much as you want during the vacation. 

I was able to get a part time job after 7 months in Korea, so that helped me a lot with my lifestyle because I really like to go to 맛집s (hot places to eat) in Korea. 

꿀팁 Cool Tip: Eat at the K-Arts cafeteria! It’s only $3.50 for unlimited food! Meals in Seoul usually cost $7 on average. It helped me a lot when I was broke lol

4. Design Classes

For your classes, EVERYTHING will be held in Korean. The professor won't slow down for you so if you don't understand anything, good luck :)

For my first semester, I had three classes: Communication Design, Design Studio & Design Critique.  I survived my first semester because I'm the only student at the time. The design department does not have a lot of students because they say it's hard to get in, so for the first semester I don't have any classmates. But starting the second semester of my first year, a classmate appeared so it’s a lot harder because I'm still not good at Korean during that time but thankfully my professors and classmates are very helpful. I survived!

The Character Forge: How to Play as Princess Zelda in DnD 5e

Since I just covered Link, it seemed only fitting to follow up with Princess Zelda. So, let’s start by discussing my goals for this build. Zelda’s powers come from religious magic, and she’s been gifted with the Triforce of Wisdom. Although she was only trained to fight as Shiek in Ocarina of Time, Zelda retained her Shiek transformation for multiple iterations of Smash Bros before they became separate characters.

The Makings of a Heroine

The first thought is to make Zelda a High Elf like Link, but the Eladrin Elf gets Fey Step for a built in Farore’s Wind. Autumn variation can charm people when they teleport, Spring variety can teelport another creature instead of themselves, and Summer variety can deal fire damage when they teleport. Otherwise, High Elf Zelda would need to throw away a stat boost to pick up the Fey Step feat.

Because Nayru is the goddess who created the laws and magic of Hyrule, Zelda is likely Lawful Good.

While Noble is the obvious background choice, there are a few other options, including Courtier, Acolyte, and Secret Identity variant Charlatan.

Powers and Abilities

First things first, Princess Zelda is the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, so her power comes from a strong religious source. Secondly, her Smash Bros powers are the gifts of the three goddesses of Hyrule. Din’s Fire allows Zelda to throw fireballs, Nayru’s Love lets her create a magical shield that hurts those near her, and Farore’s Wind allows her to teleport. So, Zelda needs a build that allows her to do all of these things. It’s also worth remembering that Hylia is a Sky Goddess, Din is the Goddess of Power who formed the land, Nayru is the Goddess of Wisdom who formed laws and magic, and Farore is the Goddess of Courage who created life. Because she got the Triforce of Wisdom from Nayru, this means that she’s also tangentially related to law, magic, and the Zora race.

Top of Her Class

Cleric     Arcana: Because Nayru is the goddess who created magic, Zelda’s link to the Triforce of Wisdom, and Nayru’s power could make her very knowledgeable of magic.     Light: Many of Zelda’s spells are light-based, with her light arrows being her iconic ultimate in Smash.     Order: Nayru is also the goddess who created law, and since Zelda is also the princess of Hyrule, she’s connected to lawfulness and order. Monk     Kensei: Shiek could work as a Monk, but unarmed combat isn’t really his focus, as he relies heavily on the use of weapons. Rogue     Arcane Trickster: Because Zelda is a magic-user, this archetype gives Shiek a clever magical counter to spells and magical trickery.     Assassin: The Assassin Archetype gets to create a false identity, which she absolutely did when she created the Shiek identity. Sorcerer     Divine Soul: Zelda is the reincarnation of a goddess, so she absolutely has a divine soul, and it’s the source of her magical power. Divine Soul Sorcerers can also learn spells from the Cleric Spell List. Warlock     Celestial: Zelda serves at the pleasure of the goddesses of Hyrule, so Zelda does serve Celestial entities. Wizard     Theurgy: More along the vein of someone studying religious magic, but because it allows Zelda to mix Cleric spells with another class.

Stats and Proficiencies

The obvious highest stat is Wisdom. Zelda has the Triforce of Wisdom, so this should be her best stat. As a rogue or monk, her Dexterity score is also important. Third being Charisma. She’s a princess, so she needs to be good at talking to people. Religion is an Intelligence stat despite no religious casters casting with the Intelligence stat. Constitution is a little lower, and strength can be dumped.

I am well aware that most would probably make Zelda a Cleric so that she’d be casting with her Wisdom modifier, but personally, I think that the Divine Soul Sorcerer covers more of Zelda’s abilities by allowing her to cast both Sorcerer and Cleric spells. mmmm im tryna avoid binging rn and am bored and we know how tht leads to it soooooo im gonna do all 30 days in one post :)

day 1- idk the exact tbh. dont have a weigh scale at my house bc everyone else is naturally skinny but me, im gonna try and buy one soon tho.

day 2- around 5'4 ehhh im not terribly mad about it but i definitely would prefer to be taller.

Virology Corner

Today’s topic is recovery from COVID-19: how do we know that you’re recovered and that you’re no longer shedding the virus?

We know from Chinese studies that in people who recover clinically (i.e. when they stop feeling like death’s ass) they can shed virus for up to 20 days from the onset of symptoms. People who die shed virus until after they die.

Fortunately, we have a way of testing for active virus shedding: the same tests we use to detect viral genes at the start of an infection work to show that you are clear of infection!

This is super useful to know because we do not always test for cure in infectious diseases - for example, we don’t usually test flu patients for cure.

It’s pretty clear that when people have two negative tests separated by 24 hours, they are considered “recovered”. That’s the definition the WHO uses, and the one I will use here unless I specify otherwise.

HELL NO it does not

That’s the short answer

The long answer is that herd immunity works as a prevention strategy in certain types of infections, and this is not yet that kind of pandemic.

We use herd immunity to prevent against diseases when we have a vaccine for them. By immunizing everyone who can be immunized, we prevent those who cannot be immunized from getting and/or spreading the disease. This is essential to protecting people from things like measles and the flu.

If humans are the only host for a particular virus, we can even use herd immunity to totally delete the disease from planet earth. Ask smallpox. Oh wait. You can’t. We deleted it. (except for the highly secure samples in Russia and the USA, shh)

COVID-19 likely has a reservoir in animals so we can’t delete it, but once we have a vaccine, herd immunity will be awesome for preventing further outbreaks.

To have herd immunity now, likely upwards of 90% of the UK would need to get the virus and recover, thereby developing immunity. That is a bad idea because no health system can handle that.

A better way to do this is what most other countries are doing, mitigating spread by isolating affected people, offering lots of testing, and quarantining areas with lots of asymptomatic spread.

In conclusion, fuck Boris Johnson, he doesn’t understand how epidemiology works and that’s gonna hurt/kill a lot of people.

Social distancing can be really crappy for people who are prone to feeling isolated. Try to schedule time to hang out virtually, especially if you’re stuck at home alone. I highly recommend the Jackbox party games to stream over Discord, or tabletop RPGs played through a service like Roll20. My friends and I have been doing all these things and it’s helping a lot!

That said, make sure your quarantine supplies include contraception and condoms and stuff. If you have a uterus, you can buy emergency contraception (plan B) online and it’s real handy to have around in a situation like this.

Most public health departments stop updating their information around 4-5 PM local time on weekdays. That means that the earliest this will come out is around 6 PM Pacific time on weekdays going forward. On weekends things update more sporadically and earlier, so who knows what I’ll do then, but I’ll do my best.

spent the day with a sore body. math SA. ll prac pres.

12 - 2 am dancing till my knees explode. 2 - 4:30 am. basically just browsed fb and updated yesterday’s log on my bed. i feel terrible my whole body and knees hurt asf. 4:30 - 5:30, watched the ghost thingy jamie was watching on the tv and switched it to daredevil after being handed the remote. 5:30 am i went back to my phone bc i gots to sleep, my whole body hurts too much. i slept by 6 am. woke up 11:40 gave up a lot of my power to keep being awake bc lj’s asleep too. spent my 12 am gathering my script for ll’s presentation tomorrow. 1 pm, start of math class. just reviewed stuff that i know already. SA started by 2 pm. i literally answered it for 15 mins only then sent the answers to vb then spent the rest of my 2 pm resting on the couch. 3 pm time for ll prac presentation. spent abt an hour and 15 mins doing that shit. they were busy rehearsing shit while i was singing along to my spotify. 4 pm. 4:10 - 5:50. played just dance with mom, jamie and lj. eye of the tiger, samba, footloose, kiss, barbie girl, skibidi (lj), old town road, another one bites the dust (jamie) then waterloo which i superstared yieee. 6 pm. just dance ended. mom gave me the spaghetti i asked for a few hours ago. i ate that while finsihing ep 3 of daredevil which i now watched 3 times lmao. im getting lazy huhu. i gotta watch faster if im gonna watch 5 more shows in one month. 8:30 to 10 pm the only thing i did was talk to v and browse fb. 10 to 12 am. mom ordered pizza, she told me to find money downstairs but i used mine instead and made them send my money through gcash instead. while waiting for the pizza jamie and i were downstairs while i played guitar bc i noticed there’s a strap on it na. i played it like im on a mf concert. i also made iced tea after that bc jamie keeps forcing me to. when the pizza came we all went upstairs, jamie got the tv after winning to rock paper scissors against me. 3-0 jfc. i watched daredevil 1x04 before the day ended while eating 6 slices of pizza. although i forgot to mention i ordered new premium accounts bc u just fucking found out my original source is banned and so are his accounts so i bought new premiums to gotchu. vpn, disney+, hulu and espn. gonna go buy yt and hbo max next time. also i won a promo too. a free one month shared netflix account. since i didnt need it i gave the account to nads. anyways thats my day, i guess. cheers.

I am quite delighted by the idea as aliens as fey. Many alien abduction stories follow similar themes of stories of fairies, changelings, and other fae folk stories. 

This led to the idea in my modern magic campaign of making aliens, both pop culture and alleged, into a new group of fey. And fey need to have an archfey so the best fit has to be Indrid Cold of mothman fame. I love cryptids and folklore as much as DnD so this was a fun to put together.

Magic Resistance. Indrid Cold has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Mind Reader. Indrid Cold can choose to read the thoughts of any creature he is talking to. Weapon attacks against him are at disadvantage.

Innate Spellcasting. Indrid Cold's innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 21, +13 to spell attacks). He can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components, any spell that can be cast at a higher level is cast at the highest level:

At will: conjure fey, detect magic, dimension door, dominate person, hold portal*, identify, lesser restoration, plane shift (can only travel to the astral plane, ethereal plane, mechanus, feywild, and limbo), pass without trace, protection from evil and good, remote access*, silence, tenser's floating disk

5/day: banishment, counterspell, demiplane, magic missile, mirage arcane, shatter

4/day: divination, modify memory, power word stun, scrying, sleep

Legendary Resistance (3/day). If Indrid Cold fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Multiattack. Indrid Cold makes two attacks.

Agreeable Beam. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 30/50 ft., one creature. Hit. The creature must make a DC 23 Intelligence saving throw or be charmed by Indrid Cold for 1 hour. If the charmed creature takes damage it can make another saving throw.

Touch. Melee Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit. 13 (1d12+7) psychic damage and the creature must succeed on a DC 21 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of its next turn.

Reactions

Higher Vantage. When Indrid Cold is attacked or targeted by a spell he can teleport 60 ft. away and the attack or spell automatically fails.

Legendary Actions

Indrid Cold can take 5 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Indrid Cold regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Mean No Harm. Indrid Cold targets one creature it can see within 50 ft. of him which must make a DC 21 Intelligence saving throw. If they fail the roll, for the next hour the targeted creature can’t deal damage to Indrid Cold and he can’t deal damage to the target either.

Teleport. Indrid Cold magically teleports, along with any equipment he is wearing or carrying, up to 120 ft. to an unoccupied space he can see.

Cast a Spell (Costs 2 Actions). Indrid Cold casts a spell.

View the Beyond (Costs 3 Actions). One creature Indrid Cold can see within 100 ft. of him must make a DC 21 Intelligence saving throw or be transported to the astral plane and takes 12 (4d6) psychic damage. The creature can make another save at the beginning of their turn, if they succeed they return to the plane they had just been transported from, if they fail they take another 12 (4d6) psychic damage. If psychic damage from this action reduces a creature to 0 hit points the creature does not die, but remains unconscious until Indrid Cold wakes them.
