Vinsmoke Sanji x Reader
Quote: "Fall in love without words."
My Dearest,
I could never tell stories as masterfully as you. You, with your beautiful white ivory keys and elegantly composed melodies. But sometimes, I like to think of myself as an artist. With words as my notes, stringing together the songs in my heart.
Yours Truly
---
When Vinsmoke Sanji first sees you he’s nothing but a boy pushed to the back of the kitchen watching through the small circular window on the door.
Chef Zeff always did get annoyed when Sanji didn’t pay the utmost attention to his cooking (which truthfully didn’t happen that often) but one could really only expect so much when it came to the attention span of a young boy. Children, much like the kind that Sanji had been at the time, were rather curious things especially when it came to things that they were told to ignore.
A restaurant on the seas is most certainly going to garner attention. The attention of the locals wanting to see the boat that has docked upon their shores; the attention of pirates in search for a meal upon the mischievous ocean; and the attention of marines curious about the newest big thing.
There was no shortage of different characters that decided to enter the restaurant.
Chef Zeff, being a former pirate, wasn’t the most keen on serving marines but even his own discomfort wasn’t enough to override his code or morale. Anyone hungry on his doorstep would be fed.
While marines did come by it wasn’t often that anyone of note actually came around. So of course a young Sanji’s curiosity would push him to the door separating the kitchen staff from the customers when someone of note did come around.
It was… a vice-admiral or something? Or at least that was what one of the serves had uttered out while running into the kitchen to inform Chef Zeff. And of course, Sanji hadn’t meant to ease drop but it was only common knowledge that one needed to have an attentive ear if they hoped to work in an active kitchen; and a kitchen upon the sea was no different.
He doesn’t notice you at first, though that might have to do with the fact that you’re trailing after two very tall and lanky fellows. The buffer of the two men wears a tacky white cape on his back with a dog shaped hat on his head. He seems awfully jovial, laughing loudly about something to the waiter as he takes his seat. The other man is dressed in a similar outfit only a little slimmer and with that same tacky white cape on his back. He’s much more modest as he follows the buffer fellow with a serious expression, seeming almost hesitant as he looks around.
It isn’t until both men have sat down does Sanji notice you.
And the first thing he notices happens to be how pretty you really are. With brilliantly bright eyes and a warm smile that you give to the waiter as he pushes your chair in for you.
His heart, for the first time, flutters.
You sit with your hands politely in your lap as you read over the restaurant menu. You’re awfully quiet with a calm expression on your face as you take a seat. You only speak when spoken to and your voice comes out as soft melodic notes.
You order the soup -which he made- and the fried rice.
This is, of course, not the only time his heart will flutter in such a way but it is the first and that has to count for something, right?
---
The second time Sanji sees you he doesn’t recognize you.
He’d gone out on a grocery run with Chef Zeff. Something about a special order for a specific ingredient that they didn’t have on hand which resulted in Sanji getting dragged out of the kitchen and into a small boat as the two of them sailed off towards whatever the heck the nearest Island happened to be.
It’s been maybe… five years since he’s last seen you? He’s not really sure. Keeping track of time has never been on the top of Sanji’s priorities. Not while he’s been busy learning the ways of the kitchen.
Both you and him have grown a lot in those five years. He’s no longer that boy pushed into the back of the kitchen. Sure, he’s still pretty gangly and lanky (stuck in that awkward phase between being a child and an adult) but he likes to think that he’s grown into his features pretty well. Or, at the very least, has learned to style himself much better than he had before. And yes, he’s still getting dragged around but he won’t always be!
You, on the other hand, seemed to have quickly graduated from the side of the two men that you had been following around earlier. You walk around the marketplace alone, with your hands behind your back like you’re an old woman, with a curious look. You’re also, Sanji notices, a lot prettier. He thinks that you look good with your hair pushed back and your lips tilted upwards in a warm smile as you listen to one of the shopkeepers attempt to sell you the product.
Sanji bets you’d be good at dancing. From the way you easily maneuver yourself through the bustling crowd to the way you easily jump up to grab something from the top shelf for a young boy. Your movements are smooth and fluid.
Honestly, it reminds Sanji a little of Chef Zeff though he isn’t all too sure why. Maybe it has something to do with the preciseness of your movements? That there’s no wasted movements or pointless actions. Be quickly brushes the idea off as there’s nothing about it that is of any particular interest to him.
While Chef Zeff is seemingly occupied with trying to negotiate the price of the ingredient, Sanji thinks that now is a better time than ever to make his move. His first instinct is to make his way over to you and lay on the charm but is stopped as Zeff quickly grabs onto the back of his shirt before smacking him on the back of the head lightly. Sanji pouts in response but knows better than to make a scene. He’d actually gotten off rather easily considering that he’d usually get a kick to the head with Chef Zeff’s wooden leg seemingly only spared because of the presence of other people.
Besides, there will be plenty of other beautiful girls that he’ll see in his life.
It isn’t until years later that he realises that you were that same young girl from years ago.
---
The third time Sanji sees you he’s determined to speak to you.
He doesn’t.
Though, not for lack of trying.
It’s a usual grocery run that Sanji’s gone on when he notices you from a distance. A few of the sue-chefs had been selected to go into town and Sanji had tagged along because of a few things (clothes mostly) that he wanted to pick up and didn’t trust anyone else with getting for him. It was mostly because he didn’t want to inconvenience his fellow chefs with such mundane tasks but that was something that he’d never admit to them unless at gunpoint. And even then it was still up for debate.
He thinks about calling out to you but thinks that that would probably make you run away from him instead of go towards him. For one, he’s a stranger to you and secondly, you’re walking around the streets late at night by yourself. Any woman is bound to run when a strange man approaches you.
You’re carrying a bundle of grocery bags in your hand as you head where Sanji assumes to be your home.
His second thought is to approach you and ask if you need help bringing your groceries home. But then again that would probably come off as creepy. Once again, because the two of you are strangers it isn’t likely that you’ll take the news very well.
Worse case scenario, you run away screaming and calling him a creep.
Best case scenario, you politely turn him down and never speak to him again.
He’s pretty sure he ends up as a creep regardless of the scenario so decides that it’s probably best to avoid that route all together.
The third option is to make a scenario where you bump into him. Maybe he would knock something down and then save you before it can hit you over the head. Or maybe he could arrange the terrain so that you trip and then he can catch you in his arms before you fall over making him look like a charming prince.
No.
That feels wrong too.
And it’s definitely morally wrong on almost every front. Not just does it involve deception but it would also take advantage of you after he put you into a certain kind of situation. Besides, he can already hear Chef Zeff scolding him for coming up with such a stupid idea in the first place.
Sanji isn’t a slimy kind of guy and in fact prides himself as someone who protects women from those kinds of men. Not go and become one of those men himself, despite the fact that you happen to be the prettiest girl he’s ever seen.
So, ultimately, Sanji ends up not talking to you. The right situation just didn’t seem to appear. No amount of hoping and praying will just suddenly make a situation appear where Sanji doesn’t come off as a creepy weirdo so he ends up just watching. Okay, even watching feels creepy now - which is how Sanji ends up making his way back to the other chefs, sullen and downtrodden, without the items he left to buy, and without having spoken a single word to you.
---
The fourth time Sanji sees you is when he realises that he’s absolutely smitten. Head over heels in love with the girl that’s haunted his dreams for years. By then you’re a fully grown woman and he’s a dashing young man. Or at least he considers himself a dashing young man. The views of his crewmates (which absolutely don’t bother him at all) would most certainly beg to differ.
You’re so much prettier than you had been back when the two of you were still gangly teens and certainly much prettier than you had been when the two of you were kids just beginning to find your places in this world.
You’re dressed in a pretty outfit, loose fitting and breezy. Not something usually seen on women that traverse the seven seas. Sanji thinks that the contrast makes you stand out amongst all the other beautiful women he’s seen.
There’s a camera around your neck and a book strapped to your side as you follow Sanji’s hyperactive captain around. He practically drags you along by the wrist and Sanji uncharacteristically finds himself unable to approach and speak to you. The words get caught in his throat before he can even think to find them.
To Sanji’s surprise, you keep up with his hyperactive captain well. There’s a calm look on your face and an elegance to your movements that he recognizes from before. You don’t even seem to stumble over your own feet as you make your way through the streets of the city.
From Sanji’s own experience, he knows that his captain isn’t the most gentle person. Especially when it comes to the safety and health of others. His heart’s in the right place just… not always his mind.
When your eyes meet with Sanji’s he thinks that his heart stops beating momentarily.
You smile so prettily and softly that Sanji literally falls on his feet as the words get caught in his throat.
That’s the kind of smile that Sanji’s been dreaming about for years.
The kind that he can imagine waking up to every morning.
Sanji thinks that if that’s the last thing he ever sees he’ll die happy. That’s just the kind of smile you have. How pretty you seem to him.
His heart flutters in his chest dramatically.
And… oh.
Fall in love without words.
---
Him: A better question is how long will you love me.

yes i'm rooting for m*leven breakup because byler is neat but mostly? i'm rooting for m*leven breakup for the sake of el and mike.
to me, their romance was always a puppy love born out of a combination of social pressures, naïve curiosity, and a lack of true understanding regarding intimacy and romantic love and what it really is. it was real in that they do truly, deeply care about each other and they are close friends, maybe even shared an attraction, but a maturing romance is so much more than that. they've grown up and out of being boyfriend/girlfriend, and that's okay! i think television/film needs to show more often that most of us don't have definite "soulmates" or first childhood loves that we spend our whole lives with. it doesn't mean these relationships meant nothing and didn't impact us, it just means they've run their course and that something else is in the cards, and this is part of life!
i've always felt el was at her best and most confident self when broken up with mike, discovering who she was and what she liked alongside another girl her age instead of just relying on mike for mentorship on how to live in the real world. she deserves more of an opportunity to find herself, her autonomy, and her independence, and to love who she is, and she's made it clear she's felt insecure in the relationship with mike because she isn't being loved and understood the way she wants, needs, and deserves from someone who is her partner.
also, it's okay if mike doesn't love her in "the way he should". he is not obligated to love her romantically and stay in a relationship with her just because she's a girl, because she "needed someone", or because he cares about her a lot. he shouldn't be pressured into a romance if it's not truly coming from his heart. he deserves freedom to find out and honour who he is, too, instead of just staying in his non-functional first relationship — one he got into as a child, essentially — and defining himself that way because it's what's expected when a boy and a girl are close. he loves her in some way, yes, but it's okay if he doesn't feel comfortable or secure being her boyfriend anymore, for whatever reason that is. he's felt insecure too, and that's valid and it matters.
they are their own people and are steadily growing and changing every day. they need time to figure out who those people are, and it's become clear (at least in my opinion) that those people aren't meant to be a couple at this stage.
they deserve freedom. they deserve to grow up and be authentic to themselves and not feel like they need to lie for the sake of a relationship. they deserve to move on from this version of their relationship that isn't making them happy and rekindle the best part of their bond: their strong, beautiful friendship. they don't have to be a couple if it doesn't make them stronger and better and happier people.
i think it would be healthy and wonderful for a show, especially one consumed frequently by young adults, to show a relationship starting, progressing, and ending on good terms in this way. sometimes things don't work out, and that is okay.
#eve text#elmike#stranger things#byler#only tagging byler because i feel like yall will like this take lol#tagging tagging tagging WHAT ARE EVERYONE ELSE'S THOUGHTS#god i can't believe i'm making a post about stranger things. this feels like poking a bear#i'm not particularly anti m*leven but like... they'd have to do something pretty special at this point for me to feel like it's viable#i'm seeing the bts of s5 and it's got me Having Thoughts#elmike friendship is something i am so passionate about#even before i ever liked byler (didn't ship at all until s4 even though i knew it was a thing before) i've felt this way about elmike#i always believed they were close friends at heart and needed to break up#the romance part of them felt very distinctly young and very much “he was a boy she was a girl” to me#and it hasn't deepened into anything more mature and i don't see how it could based on the current state of the writing...#the fact that lumax exists — a young relationship that is actively maturing and is healthy — makes that clear to me#and the “love confession” in s4 and how disingenuous and miserable it felt was just the nail in the coffin#also the fact that will (who is IN LOVE with mike) was instrumental in making it happen? ... uh... okay... interesting choice…#fucked up and reductive if they make it another queer unrequited love sacrifice for the sake of pushing the heterosexual agenda YUCK#so i really hope the speculation about a m*leven breakup is real!! i think it just makes sense for their characters but who knows#i don't believe in the notion of love at first sight or one true love and i think the writers don't too???#love to me is an accumulation of experiences and we inevitably choose it at some point rather than fall into it... but idk#tv is so fixated on keeping couples together... sometimes it's just not reality guys especially with young people... LET IT GO...#like i said though i'm not 100% sold that they're going to give up their “golden couple” LMAO#stranger things hasn't historically subverted too many tropes if i'm being honest#anyway i seriously need this season to come out quickly... i'm so bored and getting my master's is crushing my soul#i need frivolity#ALSO btw i won't respond to hateful messages about this so please don't bother. it's not that serious. this is a netflix show

okay just hear me out modern au where tommy ends up picking up ellie from pre school almost everyday since joel is busy but he keeps meeting teacher maria
Tumblr media
okay bestie as a preschool teacher you GOT me with this one. like you got me SO GOOD. this might actually get published to ao3, you got me soooo fuckin’ good right now. i have so many unnecessary details for such a simple plot so here’s a cut
tbh i feel like even as busy as joel is, he’d prioritize picking up and dropping of sarah as much as he can, so maybe he and tommy would alternate???? so on days when tommy drops off, joel picks up and when joel drops off, tommy picks up. sarah goes to a public preschool with a lot of kids, so she gets easily overwhelmed and sometimes needs extra cuddles or kind words in the mornings to make it out of the car.
one monday, a couple months into school, sarah is particularly VERY anxious because there’s a new teacher to replace ms. doherty, who quit unexpectedly on friday “because she said we gave her alooooottt of headaches, daddy.” now, sarah knows nothing about the new teacher except that shes a girl from a place called new york—and sarah doesn’t even know what new yawk IS like, thats So Far Away??? (“it’s not really that far, baby,” joel says to her. “and it’s new york. with an o sound.”) still, sarah is VERY concerned:
is new yawk like another planet???? (no, babygirl.) but what if she’s an alien???? (the school only hires human teachers, baby. they promised.) but what if she’s a SECRET alien??? (she won’t be, i promise.) okay but what if she’s mean???? (if she is, you tell me or tommy and we’ll talk to her about it, okay? she shouldn’t be mean to you.) what if she doesn’t play good music at quiet time???? (you can ask her nicely and i bet she will, baby. just say please and thank you, okay?)
still, even with her questions answered, sarah is very nervous on monday. both joel and tommy go with her in an effort to start her day off extra good, especially because joel can’t pick her up. they reassure her that new york has plenty of nice people and her new teacher will probably be one of them. she also gets TWO WHOLE extra minutes of cuddle time with BOTH of them before she and daddy have to leave the car—it’s half for her and half for them, because they’re honestly pretty anxious for her to like her new teacher too
joel is the one to hold sarah’s hand and walk her inside, because the school prefers only one guardian to drop off at a time. tommy’s nervous, but joel actually seems pretty pleased when he gets back to the car with no sarah in tow. surprisingly, he’s back faster than any time they’ve ever dropped sarah off before. with a proud smile, he tells tommy is that miss maria seems really nice. more importantly, she’s Black, which joel says Sarah got really excited about. tommy pries for more details, and he’s glad he does: apparently miss maria has locs, a few even blue and purple, and the first thing sarah’d said to her was an emphatic “😲😍🤩 i like your hair!!!!!!!!,” to which she had responded “thank you! i like your hair! what’s your name, sweets?” and that’d been that
later, when tommy does pickup that day, he doesn’t know what to expect. most times at the end of the day, sarah is super reserved and a bit cranky, eager to get home to finally have time to herself. tommy’s goal is usually to try and get her to at least wave goodbye to her teachers like joel asks—but, more often than not, she opts for reaching for uppies and hiding her face in his chest until they leave.
today??? no. it takes sarah a full two minutes to even notice tommy’s there because her and this drop-dead-fucking-gorgeous woman in a soft-looking lavender pants and blouse set are finishing up a painting at the easel wall. they’re working on what looks like a brown and purple butterfly, probably the most carefully shaped sarah’s ever made.
tommy’s heart stops when this goddess miss maria finally looks over at him and smiles with perfect pearly-whites, waving him over behind sarah’s back. when she says “sarah honey, i think someone’s here for you!” in her sing-songy toddler-tone, tommy swears an angel gets his wings. sarah turns around, shrieks with joy upon seeing him, and runs down to him with her arms out, yelling all the while: “THOMMYYYYYYY!!!!!”—because sarah’s still working on her hard ts—“thommy!!!! thommy thommy thommy come look!!! i made a butterfly for u!!!!! look!!!!! it matches ms. maria!!!!!! it’s gorgeous!!!!” (she’s been obsessed with calling things gorgeous ever since she heard tommy say it about a harley motorbike last week. joel especially thinks it’s cute, especially because of how she over-emphasizes the j-sound: gor-Jus.)
tommy’s never seen her so excited to show her art off at pickup-time before; usually, she waits until they’re home and she’s feeling less shy to start showing off, but she’s babbling and pointing to it as he picks her up and sets her on his hip: “it’s brown and purple like miss maria!!! isnt it so gorgeous, unca thommy??? do you like it???? aren’t they SO gorgeous????”
and now miss maria is looking at him. and he’s looking at her. tommy knows he’s blushing, and he hesitates—which sarah does NOT appreciate, so she says: “unca tommy!!!!!!! don’t be WUDE! thell miss maria she’s gorgeous!!! she is!!!”
luckily, miss maria saves him by explaining, in a slightly firmer teaching voice: “sarah sweets, that’s okay! we’re only just meeting, and that’s not really something you say to a stranger, okay?”
“but why noooooooot?? you are gorgeous! like my butterfly! isn’t she so gorgeous, thommy?”
“well, yeah, of course,” tommy agrees easily, because she obviously is—and shit. now miss maria is looking at him like he’s a fucking bonehead, because he obviously fucking is. “but—uh, i mean—she’s right, hon’. you gotta listen to your teacher, and that’s not somethin’ you say to a stranger, okay?”
but then, after thinking to her tiny self for a few seconds: “well if she stays my teacher then she’s not a stranger, is she???” sarah asks tommy, then turns her conniving little head towards maria, too. “and you said you’d stay! so can he say you’re gorgeous tomorrow?” then, without waiting for an answer, she’s back towards tommy to finish: “i think you should call her gorgeous tomorrow.”
“i think we should go home, s’what i think,” tommy says, finally deciding to save himself from four-year-old torment. he sets sarah down and pats her on the end with a gentle but firm request to go get her stuff from her cubby, which she goes to do without her complaints of being too tired to walk. maria watches them closely with a close-lipped but relaxed grin. when sarah’s out of earshot, he apologizes. “sorry ‘bout that, ma’am.”
“don’t be,” miss maria teases, crossing her arms. “you did call me gorgeous, after all. i’ve had worse introductions.”
“tommy miller,” he offers, moving to shake her hand. he notices her nails are done-up, a sparkly blend of pretty shades of purple that look tie-dyed on somehow. her hands aren’t soft, not really, but they’re smooth enough to make him shiver as he pulls away. “sarah’s uncle.”
“oh, i know,” she reassures, then nods her head pointedly towards sarah. the little one is coming back towards them with her lunchbox in one hand and her water bottle in the other, walking extra careful so she doesn’t trip over herself like she did last week, tommy guesses. clearly fond, maria continues. “she spent all day telling me about you and her daddy. you’re doing great with her.”
“unca thommy! i’m ready to go!” sarah sing-songs, interrupting whatever miss maria might’ve said next. internally, tommy thanks his niece—the you’re doing great was already enough to make him cry, and he’d rather not do so in front of either her or her amazing new teacher. plopping her lunch and bottle at tommy’s feet, sarah gives not one, but two eager waves to miss maria, hands flapping madly up towards the woman’s face. “bye miss mariaaaaa!!!! i’ll see you tomorrow!!!!”
“bye sarah sweets!” maria says back, waving just as enthusiastically. to tommy, she raises an amused, teasing eyebrow. just loud enough for him to hear as he turns away, he hears her say “bye, gorgeous,” and laugh, giving yet another angel a pair of wings.
it takes everything in him to not fall straight to the floor, toppling his own precious niece, right then. he doesn’t think he even breathes until both he and Sarah are secured in the car, him in the front and her in her carseat. she’s already babble singing mary j. blige’s “just fine,” which they usually play and sing on their way home from school to help her regulate. when he plays the song this time, sarah smiles bright at him through the rearview and says “i already feel just fine, unca tommy!!! but can we still play it, just for fun?”
“of course, baby,” he says, and start singing along with her. he’s feeling just fine, too.

Ok so I've been thinking about the fact that Till's pupels widen when he felt Ivan's hand on his cheek. You can see it for a brief frame. So, even if Tills feelings aren't the same as Ivans(obvi), he did felt something at that moment, and it wasn't negative.
Btw not talking about the kiss itself, it's another story and have been talked about enough, I am only talking about the hand on the cheek incident.

I Believe...Steddie
I normally don't mind angst (though I avoid drama fics in general). Miscommunication is the biggest trope in romance, so I'm all for it, but for some reason Steve x Eddie fics / drabbles where Eddie still thinks of Steve as Steve THE KING Harrington always sit weirdly for me. Sometimes, if the Upside Down didn't happen (AUs in general) or pre-UD setting, maybe -- sure, then that could work. But close to canon fics where Eddie lives and Steve legit confesses to him? Always just -- strikes me as wrong.
Finally realized why -- it's literally the antithesis of canon Eddie. Canon! Eddie is quick to acknowledge Steve has changed. He literally runs up to him in the Upside Down while a bunch of madness is happening and where he has every right to be consumed by his own shit-tastic situation, but instead, he's telling Steve how he is a great guy and has changed.
Can Eddie be bitchy and prejudice? Yes.
Does Eddie have grudges against jocks / the popular crowd? Yes.
But he also goes full on bowing gentlemen for cheerleaders (going out of his way to help Chrissy and make her smile) and he's quick to acknowledge Steve's not that same popular AH anymore.
With Steve's bitchiness not aimed at him, Eddie would be eating his Honeycomb and snickering when old habits popped back up, and maybe he'd feel conflicted about jocky Steve, complaining about going to games or something until somebody smacked some sense into him. Totally believe tension and disbelief about one liking the other or some bias about things, but I just can't see Steve proclaiming his love or whatever and Eddie assuming it is a trap or trick or prank or something.
Maybe he'd think Steve was confused. Maybe he'd assume they were doomed, but I can't see him blaming Steve for that or blowing up their relationship IF Eddie accepted the confession and they started dating. Eddie's way more down on himself.
If someone can explain how it makes sense, please do. I'd love to enjoy all Steddie tropes, and that one seems popular lately, but where my brain sees so many problems with them getting to the confession point or even a number of big arguments that could happen afterward due to outside aspects, those two strike me as highly tactile, highly clingy romantics who would be convinced they were the height of discrete while practically fused, constantly touching and being snide little judgy dudes together.
#steddie#Steve x Eddie#Eddie Munson#Stranger Things#Only way Eddie doesn't see how Steve's changed is if the Upside Down doesn't exist but then Steve might not have changed#the second Steve asks him out Eddie is 100% in#won't accept anything different#Eddie is a drama king but he's the the sort to be clingy and pushy and cause problems by being too tactile and obvious in a homophobic town#which is why I 100% believe fics where Eddie and Steve fight over Steve refusing to come out or leave Hawkins#Despite also 100% believing Eddie would understand#frankly I fall for all the tropes EXCEPT Eddie not believing (in a canon compliant Upside Down having universe)that Steve has changed#where are my double date fics with Eddie and Steve taking out two girls only to get dumped because they spent more time chatting themselves#What about the fics where Eddie sets Steve up with a metalhead girl only for Steve to be like 'wow I'm super into this'#but then he realizes partway through he is 100% imaging she's Eddie#Or Steve setting up Eddie on a double date only to have a 'oh no I fucked up' moment as he realizes halfway through that he loves Eddie#Steve: Cool Eddie might score (*and it was at that moment he realizes he fucked up) I don't want Eddie to score#Give me hooking up duo who 'just like making out' and 'just aren't ready to get back out there yet' who feel pressured to do so#and they end up throwing hands over it and banging#Eddie: So...that happened. | Steve: Do you think Dustin was right? | Eddie: No way that butthead is right. | Steve: But what if he is?#Eddie: Obviously we can't tell him. | Steve: But we can still make out right? | Eddie: Fuck yeah#Give me dumb bets between guys friends inspired by Steve trying to relate to Eddie like he used to Tommy

I like to think that what partially motivated Lucifer to finally snap and Rebell against hell was him actually meeting and talking to Adam and Eve and realizing "Holy fuck I dont want them nor their future gens to be tortured forever" and seeing them grow, change and learn as well as having a choice in who they wish to be (smth angels cant really do) and maybe just maybe the hypothetical that if everyone in heaven, both angels and humans are immortal they'll all eventually land in hell to be tortured forever (considering eternity is a long time and a long time to accidentally Slip up)
i definitely think the human issue is primarily what drove his dissent, and i think the idea is supported well enough by the testament alluding to lucifer's fall. initially, of course, he was thrilled by god's new design - "we will make man in our image" is a pretty intriguing pitch, but lucifer's questions quickly began to rise to the surface as that idea took shape. a creature made in god's image, taken to mean that human beings will be boundlessly inventive and have the capacity to create endlessly, something the angels don't have, means they will have a world just BURSTING with new ideas and more to love. however, humans will be restricted, beings of flesh that have a much smaller scope of awareness and limited senses, but that isn't necessarily a terrible thing - they will live in their own world of peace, a beautiful garden made for all their generations to grow in. something goes wrong though, something feels off to him when he begins to understand how curious they will be, how they will learn and how they will be self-governing - they will truly possess themselves as god does and in ways he did not impart to his angels. yet humans were to be tested, and if they were fail then their lives become ruinous, they bring pain, disease, violence, and untold burdens into the world as their punishment, until death takes them in the short lives they have. they will be subject to all evil, a design cruel enough in itself, but hell put the nail in the coffin for him.
because he is left with the how. how can beings so small, born without any knowledge or inclination and living for just a few short years, in a world filled with evil, confusion, and anxiety, be expected to hold god's laws in perfection? it planted a growing seed of misgiving in him, of doubt in god's goodness - a place of eternal torment for what would be, in most people, a small life of mistakes. it shook lucifer's love....because his love burns for all of god's creation now too. he couldn't bear to see these humans tortured beyond all time and it's true too that it made him fear for all of them. could hell house them all? could heaven be emptied? could god, in all his power and all his growing need to be obeyed and adored beyond what his creations even seem capable of giving, cast them all out and simply make new children that he thinks could satisfy his demands? because humanity feels an awful lot like god wants something else from what he has, beings of pure free will that will love him endlessly because his angels just aren't enough. nothing is enough. and i think that thought sparks his unease to the point of rebellion. nothing is enough for god. he looks upon heaven, he sees the seraphim like himself that are wholly devoted to singing praises all day and all night in god's presence, he sees the archangels made to hold up and exalt his throne, he sees an expansive kingdom full of worship by all who inhabit it...and god wants more. will he keep creating to this end, over and over, beings made out of nothing and then soon enough cast off into the pit? cycles of endless torture, for all time. it was a heavy, harrowing thought, so ghoulish it seemed unthinkable, yet hell was there, and humans would be condemned to it if they "failed".
if he did meet adam and eve in any way, that if would be erased and hell's usage would become a certainty. not because he finds evil in them, but because they are curious, they want to learn and they like to share with one another. they have god's essential spark in them, yet he denies them the fundamental knowledge of good and evil knowing full well their divine nature and the intelligence he gave them. what's worse is that it seems likely in this scenario that the serpent in the garden is likely from god as well - while traditional christian belief holds that the devil tempted them, the serpent, canonically, has no identity (satan is HIGHLY unlikely given genesis's age besides) and so...adam and eve obeyed, yet god decided to push them again. he gave his orders, they listened, but it wasn't enough. i like the idea that maybe lucifer finally broke when god sent that serpent, when he saw that no matter how humans obeyed, they would be tested until he found a way to make them fail. because they hadn't touched that fruit. they took god's word and did good, despite all their contrary nature. it just furthers the fear that they are all destined for a fate of damnation, that god will push and push and push until his creations fail him, that whatever goodness he has is being devoured by something within him that lucifer is sure he cannot fathom.
yet i think, even until the end, lucifer believed he could sway god's mind. he is the satan, the adversary, part of his role meant to question and now, to accuse. so maybe he was meant to call this cruelty for what it is, maybe he was meant to condemn hell as an institution...at least, maybe he can change this before it goes too far. yet even if he had any anxiety about what punishment this might incur, his stand had to be taken for humanity and for the host of heaven, lest they be subject to the same tests and wrath. unfortunately, lucifer would find out god's brutality is unending when one dares threaten to remove an ounce of their adoration for him.

Some attempts at a design for Selena :3. The second image is inspired by the wedding in Haunted Castle, but I changed Simon’s outfit cause idk I just can’t picture him being comfortable in a suit.

The last two of these are way more headcanon-y lol. They’re under a cut mostly in case my headcanons and story ideas change d(^^ ). One of them was inspired by a Kikuo song I was listening to while drawing lol, the song “Let’s Go to Heaven”.

Ooooooohhhhhhh now I’m thinking of an Izzy with an Ella Enchanted style curse on him hhhhhhhhhh
Read-more cause this got away from me lmfao
He keeps it fairly under wraps for most of his life, sets out to sea at twelve, gets picked up by a press gang at seventeen. He manages, its  expected, for a sailor to follow orders on a navy ship, after all (of course ‘no’ isn't an option available to him anyway).
They get boarded by pirates when he's about twenty one and he’s taken on as part of their crew, the captain is after crew more than loot, tells him he should join (saying ‘no’ would have just had him killed, and he's doing his very best to live).
Some time after, he's nearing twenty five, they’re raided by another ship, the Ranger. Benjamin Hornigold likes a ruthless sailor (a ruthless pirate) and Israel Hands has never allowed himself to be anything but. He decides he wants to keep this one. He offers, Izzy accepts. Ben tells him to kill his former captain (wouldn’t have said ‘no’ even if he could have, the man was a bastard).
He earns a reputation of being kind of a kiss-ass, he doesn’t really mind, it keeps most people from asking questions. But Ben’s got his pet projects Edward Teach and John ‘Jack’ Rackham and they’re both too sharp for their own good (though, Jack is better at playing dumb). They notice its not just Captain’s orders he follows to the letter, but everyone’s. They test him, subtly at first, but eventually they show their hand. Tell him that they know there’s more to Izzy’s obedience than he lets on.
He’s terrified for how they might use this against him (the usual ways, which most men abused without even knowing about his curse, easier, safer to let them think he wanted it) but they tell him they don’t want to take his agency from him like that. They offer to help him. He’s not sure whether to trust it (he knows, by rights, he shouldn’t) but he can’t say ‘no’ to ‘trust us, let us help’ (whether Edward is aware of the command, Izzy will never know, decades later Edward doesn’t even remember what he said to convince him).
So they stick by him, as best they can, if someone gives an order he doesn’t want to follow they’ll tell him, quietly as they can, not to. It works, for the most part. Though eventually, Ben notices Izzy’s not quite as obedient anymore (though he still never says ‘no’ to his captain’s orders). He doesn’t like that. He notices Izzy’s been spending more time around Teach and Rackham, decides they’re bad influences (he intends them to captain other ships in his fleet, they’re allowed to push back on orders, Izzy will never have a command of his own, he is not). He separates them. Puts Teach and Rackham on the Marianne with the flimsy excuse of ‘getting practice in’. (he sees them off with Izzy at his side, a claiming hand on his shoulder, Ed and Jack aren't sure how they manage it, but they don't try to kill him right then and there) They now only ever see each other when they all make port. Its a trying few months (for Ed and Jack, for Izzy. . .).
They meet at port one last time (apart, at least). Edward has a plan. They’re going to mutiny. They’ve been stirring the pot on the Marianne (whispers had already started before they got there, not too many of the crew were happy to miss out on loot just because Ol’ Ben had an apparent soft spot for the Crown). He presses his knife into Izzy's hands. Tells him, back on the ship, when everyone else is asleep, he’s to slip into the captain’s cabin and kill Ben, in his sleep, so he can’t order him to stop (Izzy is never sure if he would have said ‘no’ to that unintentional order, had he been able).
The mutiny goes off without a hitch (Ben wakes when the knife plunges into his throat, but he can’t give orders around the steel and the blood that choke him). Edward makes Izzy his first mate, gives Jack the Marianne. He and Izzy go on to create a legend.
Things are good, for a long while they're good. Edward is an inventive and charismatic captain, the crew love him and the loot he leads them to, and Izzy's position (and Edward's possessive protectiveness over him) means that anyone who dares order Israel Hands around, that doesn't have the title of 'his captain', meets a quick end.
Unfortunately, for Izzy, 'good' never tends to last. He'd hoped (and damn him for daring to hope) that he was free, as free as he could be, from his curse, sailing under Edward (Blackbeard), and he was. For a while. Its about a decade later when Edward starts to get bored. He never orders Izzy to do anything degrading or dangerous (more dangerous than he can handle at least) but it still hurts somewhere deep in his chest the first time Edward gives a casual order and doesn't look to see if Izzy wants to follow it.
They come across Jack every now and again. It always takes him a bit to readjust to Izzy, to remember he needs to phrase things as suggestions rather than orders, he always manages eventually. (that little pain in his chest digs a little deeper when he notices Edward avoids giving him orders when Jack is around, though he can't say why) Their crossing paths wind up fewer and farther between as the years go on. One notable visit involved Jack asking Edward to marry him and Anne Bonny ('why not just have your first mate do it?' 'Annie is my first mate, man, 'sides, I want my two best buds to be there for it!'). Izzy isn't sure what to make of Edward's renewed willingness to run into Jack afterwards (only knows that the pain in his chest grows all the sharper for it, and at seeing Jack, happy with Anne, he feels a bit monstrous about that). It doesn't matter much in the end, things go back to normal once Mary/Mark (depending on the day) Read enters the picture and (mostly) steals Annie away from Jack.
And suddenly Izzy finds himself at fifty five, on a beach, wondering ‘what kind of fucking idiot runs his ship aground‘. Edward is intrigued, Izzy can't tell him 'no'.
He hates the Revenge with every fiber of his being. None of the crew listen to him, Edward doesn't back him up (and neither do Fang or Ivan, following their captain's lead). The first time one of the crew gets it into their head to give him a mocking order he nearly passes out with the force it takes him to not jump to the task immediately. He retreats to his cabin later and vomits at the feeling of violation he hasn't felt in decades (he tells himself he hasn't felt it, Edward is his captain, above all else is loyalty to his captain, his own feelings don't matter).
He hates stupid fucking Stede Bonnet most of all. Hates him for putting a light back in Edward's eyes that hasn't been there for a long while. Hates his pompous attitude, his flippant disregard for the institution of piracy, how little he seems to actually care for the safety and well-being of his own men (leave alone the danger he poses to Edward). Most of all he hates that he calls him 'Iggy'.
So when he challenges him to a duel, and he accepts, its only for Edward's sake that he sets the terms at 'banishment' and not 'death'. When he loses he finds he rather wished it had been to the death. (he doesn't understand, Edward wanted this, he hadn't even told him to stop, hadn't ordered him to stop)
He retreats to Spanish Jackie'z to lick his wounds and to work out a plan to pull Edward out of the steady march towards his own demise that he faces aboard the Revenge. Jackie, Izzy is fairly certain, knows about his curse to some extent (he suspects she doesn't abuse the knowledge for the sake of having a bargaining chip, should she need it), she talks him out of any corners the navy bloke with a grudge against Stede Bonnet inadvertently walks him into. She also runs him into Jack Rackham (and Izzy realizes, at the sight of the silver starting to peek its way through his dirty blond, that its been nearly ten years since they've last seen each other, that pain in his chest not any duller for it) and the last piece of the plan falls into place. Jack tries to talk him out of it, says its not a good idea, even offers him a position on his own ship (not that its his ship to offer anymore, since Annie took over captaincy and made Mary/Mark her first mate, but they've both always had a soft spot for Izzy on account of Jack's soft spot for Izzy, they'd be more than willing), not once does he order though and Izzy can't let Edward keep doing this to himself. Jack will understand when he sees him, Izzy says. Jack goes.
(Izzy hears, when the navy gunners crow triumphantly about hitting the dinghy, the one that Jack and Edward were in, the one that Edward jumped out of, he tells himself not to let it show when that pain in his chest comes back twenty-fold at the thought)
Edward claims the Act of Grace. He and Stede Bonnet leave to lick the king’s boots. Izzy doesn't make it a single day as captain. Edward comes back just before he goes overboard with the anchor to follow. He comes back wrong. Izzy can't take it. Edward can't take it.
The Kraken wakes and Izzy is introduced to the concept of a living hell. (even the captive crew stop trying to give him orders, at the haunted look in his eye, when they see how the Kraken orders him around, when he discovers Spriggs alive, if a lot worse for the wear, he doesn't even need the order to keep it under wraps, he doesn't want to know what the Kraken would order him to do if the boy is found out, he shudders at the thought)
When stupid fucking Stede Bonnet (and his marooned crew) finds his way back to the Revenge Izzy allows himself a single moment to feel relieved. Until, at least, the Kraken orders him to kill the man. He can't. He fights. The crew are all shouting at him not to, it eases the strain. The Kraken levels his pistol at his head, the crew goes silent.
'Israel, I order you to kill Stede Bonnet'.
His sword is in his hand. Stede's gotten better with his own sword, is managing to hold his own against Izzy (in truth, its mostly due to Izzy straining to not follow the order, but there is a marked improvement). The Kraken growls 'Kill him Izzy, fucking- kill him!' Izzy loses his sword to the mast again (he's grateful this time), his knife is in his hand a second later. He's got less reach than Stede does but Stede is trying not to hurt him. Why is he trying not to hurt him?
'Bonnet. Bonnet, you have to stop me. I can't. I can't kill you. I can't let him do that to himself. You have to. Run me through. Right here-' he taps his chest with his free hand, the one that isn't swinging the knife around, the left side, right over his heart '-only way to stop this. He might even listen to you afterwards.'
'Izzy. Izzy no.' In his shock, Stede lowers his sword. Izzy swears as he knocks it out of his hand. Presses close, crowds him against the doors to the captain's cabin, knife against his throat.
'Just fucking kill him already!'
A bead of blood wells under the tip of the blade. Izzy meets his own eyes in the polished reflection of his knife.
'Izzy stop fucking around and do what I told you to!'
His hands shake with the weight of the order. There are tears in his eyes, he can see them in his reflection.
A memory comes, unbidden: He, Edward, and Jack hiking through dense jungle to find a witch that Jack thinks might be able to break his curse, or at least tell them how to break it themselves. Her words 'I cannot break this curse Israel, this is something you must do for yourself. I can tell you this, however, to do this you'll need to face yourself. Face yourself and free yourself. That is all I can say, I'm sorry, I'd tell you more if I could.' They'd left disappointed, Jack cursing about scams and 'you can't even trust witches these days, man', Edward contemplatively silent.
Face yourself and free yourself. Izzy's eyes flick upwards to Stede's concerned face, back down to the blade. He meets his own eyes again.
'Izzy-' The rest of the Kraken's words go unheard.
Izzy tells himself, voice scarcely more than a breath: 'You will not be obedient.'
He feels, more than sees, Stede's gasp. He ignores it. His hand still wants to press the knife upwards. He tries again.
'You will not be obedient.' A little louder this time.
'The fuck did you just say-' Again.
'You will not be obedient!'
The knife flies across the deck, lands with a clatter. Silence (but for the sound of Izzy's labored breaths).
He turns, ignores the shocked crew, meets Edward's wide eyes with his own watery ones (when had the tears started falling so freely?).
'. . . Iz. . . ?'
Everything goes black.

Absolutely Dazzling
Gojo Satoru x Reader
Quote: "Fall in love with someone that's everything you're not."
“Would you die if someone told you to?” You asked, your legs wrapped around the tree branch as you hung upside down, your golden eyes meeting with Gojo’s own bright blues.
Gojo scoffed, “of course not. Why would you ask such a stupid question?”
You laugh, giving Gojo a light flick to his forehead.
If you were anyone else he would’ve swat your hand away. Actually, if you were anyone else, you likely wouldn’t have even been able to have come in contact with him at all.
“(Y/n),” Gojo pouted, “you’re so mean to me.”
You smile unapologetically, “sorry.”
“No you’re not.”
“You’re right,” you hum, “I’m not.”
Gojo felt a smile pull at the corners of his lips as he looked at you. Always so playful and carefree. Imagines he might’ve been a little more like you if he had been able to be a child while growing up. Imagines he might’ve been able to make friends more easily.
“Would you die if someone told you to?” Gojo asked, his own face inches away from yours.
You smile ever so prettily, with your hair loosely hanging from your head and all the blood rushing to your head. Most wouldn’t look that pretty in a moment like this, much less this pretty when upside down. But you’re not most. You’re you - and nothing is more like you then right now as you stare at him, a strange look in your brilliant eyes as you reply with a simple, “yes.”
He supposes he should’ve expected such an answer from someone like you. Really though, no matter how much Gojo prepared himself he likely would always be surprised at a moment like this.
This, afterall, is what separates you from him.
What separates you from everyone else.
He wonders how you might react if he were to press his lips to yours. Wonders if you’d smile fondly or run away. If you’d act like it never happened at all. Finds himself wanting to kiss you so badly. He doesn't, of course, but he does wonder.
He thinks that you, if anyone, would probably understand him best.
That’s why he doesn’t lean forward.
---
“This is a beautiful world, ain’t it?” You asked, staring off into the distance with a wistful look on your face.
Gojo looked around, a brow raised. Sure, one could consider snow decorating the ground as a pretty sight but when paired with gray sludge and yellowish brown grass peeking through it seemed anything but. The sky was a dull grey, no sight of its usual brilliant blue - the clouds melding into one large indiscernible amalgamation. The trees are a barren brown with no bright leaves to colour their bare skin or an icy layer to protect them from the harsh gaze of others.
The streets don’t dazzle with the brightness of the streetlights above.
A shattered glass bottle sits alone in the corner of a parking lot, littering the environment.
Even the world itself seems dull. Void of colour. Lacking any semblance of personality that would separate it from something else. Does not at all match the brilliance of the painting that lined the walls back at his house. It’s almost as numb as it is boring.
Gojo turns back to look at you, your eyes glowing gold as you fondly gaze upon the world around you.
“You alright, (Y/n)?” Gojo asks, giving you an incredulous look, “get a couple screws knocked loose during that last fight?”
You ignore him, in that halfway way, as you usually do. Walking with your arms held out to either side as you balance on the curb between the sidewalk and the road humming a vaguely familiar turn that Gojo just can’t seem to name but remembers like the back of his hand. It’s no song he’s ever listened to himself but it’s one that always seems to take up a large portion of his mind when he thinks of you. It's the only song he associates solely with you.
“Hello?” Gojo takes longer strides and leans over so his head is side by side with yours, “are you listening to me, (Y/n)?”
Apart from a simple nod of the head you don’t acknowledge his presence any further.
Just enough of a reaction to keeping Gojo from bursting out in a puff of frustration.
“Guess you really did lose some of your sanity in that last fight.” Claims Gojo, loud and boisterous as he stuffs his hands in his pockets and picks up his pace so that you’re now behind him as he continues to stride forward.
You hum in acknowledgment, “I might’ve,” your voice playful and amused.
“No. You definitely have lost a couple screws.”
“Mhm.”
“Imagine what Suguru would say,” Gojo says, “he’d be even more horrified of you now then before.”
Among everyone, Gojo would say that you were the most fair when it came to showing (or rather not showing) affection towards your fellow classmates and peers. Fair, like a teacher with a class of new students. That, despite your playful attitude and happy go lucky moods, you always kept a fair distance between yourself and everyone. Except maybe for Geto Suguru who you favoured ever so slightly more than everyone else. Nothing blatantly obvious. It was, in fact, so small of a thing that the others would have called Gojo crazy if he were to bring it up. But Gojo, being ever the observant person he most definitely is, noticed. He noticed every single time.
You, ever the fair (and cruel) individual that you are, manage to keep a calm expression, “he might~” Not giving away anything in the slightest. Gojo can’t decide if that irks him more than what he thought would’ve been the slightest hint of a reaction.
The smirk playing on Gojo’s lips slowly starts to disappear at your lack of a reaction. Even the simple nods of acknowledgement are not enough to satiate him for long. Gojo wants - no want is too small a word. He craves - no, not even that word doesn't seem to fully encapsulate his present state of mind. Gojo Satoru needs attention. More specifically, he needs to constantly be the center of your attention. Refuses to be but a side thought as you walk along a curb with your arms held out like you might lose your balance at any second.
Believes he might even die if left to his own devices for even a second longer.
“(Y/n).” Gojo suddenly says, his voice louder than normal as it echoes through the empty streets.
“That’s my name.”
“Say my name.”
Your lip twitches up into a smirk ever so subtly and ever so quickly that anyone apart from Gojo would’ve missed it.
His heart flutters dramatically.
“Gojo.”
Gojo pouts, “you haven’t called me that since the Kyoto Goodwill Event.”
“Very astute of you to notice.” You tease, careful to keep your voice steady or else risk the wrath of a tantrum throwing Gojo Satoru.
You’re kind of like most people in that sense. Always so careful about what you say and how you say it while you’re around him. So astute and attuned to his moods. Not because you want to but because you have to. It’s simply a privilege given to someone like him being born strong. He doesn't like it.
Hates it, in fact.
Makes him feel so distant from everyone else.
Lonely - despite not being alone.
But it’s different when you do it. Different from how Shoko and Suguru do it too. They tease him ever so gently with soft prods and pokes at his outer shell. You, on the other hand, outright push. Sometimes doing the exact thing that would annoy him just because.
You’re cruel.
And mean.
And kind of a brat.
But maybe - just ever so slightly - he kind of likes it.
Maybe he sounds a little hypocritical and contradictory.
He feels almost normal when you poke and prod (shove) him metaphorically. Maybe it’s because you treat him like how you treat everyone else? Or perhaps it has something to do with that smile you give him that sends his stomach tumbling in a turn like it does when he gets a punch to the stomach (which doesn't happen often)? Or, just maybe, it’s because of the way your eyes seem to peer into his own. How your eyes seem to peer into everyone’s souls - as if you know something they don’t.
“(Y/n).” Gojo says, his voice flat.
“Satoru.”
And his heart skips a beat - as it always does when you say his name like that.
Gojo frowns ever so slightly, but you can’t see it, “you get lonely, don’t you?”
“I imagine we all get lonely from time to time, Satoru.”
Gojo turns around, surprised to see that you’re right behind him, your eyes peering curiously into his own as if you knew that was what he was going to do next. He has half a mind to flick your forehead gently - the other half of his mind wondering what it might be like to kiss your lips. He, of course, holds steadfast and calms his erratically beating heart, “I didn’t ask about everyone, did I?”
“So you didn’t.”
“So?”
“So…” you say it the same way he does when he’s teasing someone.
Gojo huffs, “I guess someone like you just wouldn’t understand.”
You hesitate ever so slightly.
And Gojo, being ever the conversationalist expert that he is, would of course interpret that silence as a denial of his previous claim. He wonders if everyone else would have noticed such a shift in your mood and tone. Something so subtle and acute to exactly who you are as a person. So unlike everyone else.
Everyone else, Gojo thinks, likely would have overlooked that slight moment of hesitation. Well, maybe Suguru would’ve noticed it but that’s because Suguru has always been a people person. Able to convince someone a squirrel was a mouse if he put his mind to it.
You smile ever so distantly, “it’s lonely being placed upon a pedestal that you never asked for.”
“What do you mean by that?” Gojo asks, raising his sunglasses ever so slightly in an attempt to get a better look at you. His six eyes, unfortunately, reveal only the secret to your abilities. Nothing to do with your soul or mind.
“You know what I mean.”
And he hates that he does.
The two of you stand in silence for a while. Just kinda staring at one another. Neither one of you is really sure of what to say next. Stuck in a stalemate of sorts. Kind of like what happens whenever the two of you spar. Simultaneously wanting both to keep the other safe while also seeing how far they can be pushed. Sometimes it almost feels like a sick obsession of some sort. A horrible need to see you bleed. He of course holds back. Feels disgusted at himself for the thought. But it’s there nonetheless.
Satrou thinks that maybe, in another life, he would’ve liked to have been born normal.
No, that’s a total lie.
He loves absolutely everything about being a sorcerer. Loves the fact that he was born the strongest in this day and age. Stands above everyone else. Receives special privileges simply because he was born the way he is. Finds almost a sick perverse pleasure showing off his strength to everyone else. He is, in every sense of the word, absolutely brilliant. That in this world there will forever be him - a line - and then everyone else. But, and he hates to admit it, only in this world.
Or maybe he doesn't hate that idea so much.
He doesn't want to be normal.
Loathes the idea that there might be a world where that’s all he is.
But… the idea did have to come from somewhere.
It’s strange. Kind of like wanting to keep everything he is while also wanting to be everything he isn’t. Never wanting to give up one thing for another. Forever torn between what he is and could be.
“Sorry, Satoru.” You say suddenly and your eyes don’t glow.
They seem almost normal as they look into his own. You seem almost human. Well, of course you seem human - you are a human after all - but in this moment Gojo could have almost called you normal despite your apology being anything but. You remind him almost of-
Oh.
So, this is everything he could have been.
Everything he is not.
Everything.
Gojo’s eyes soften, “what for?”
“For one thing,” you shrug, “or another.”
“Come on, (Y/n)!” Gojo exclaims, “why’re you apologising in such a stupid and mysterious way?”
You smile again in that way that makes Gojo’s heart flutter, “sorry.”
Gojo feels a flush rise up evident through the red tip of his ears. In a quick attempt to distract you he leans over and flicks your forehead ever so slightly. It’s a gentle kind of flick but sends lighting through his fingers as his skin comes in contact with your own.
“Yeah,” Gojo says suddenly, “this is a beautiful world.”
Fall in love with someone that’s everything you’re not.

Okay but Fiddauthor is so cool actually. It’s a scrungly old man and a scrimblo bimblo old man who have both enacted unspeakable horrors on the world. But despite everything they heal and forgive and love each other. And they were lab partners and roommates. It’s even aspec.

I'm on ep5 of LOK and remembering why I have never gotten past the first season of this show. The love triangle shit is driving me INSANE in the worst of ways. It feels like fucking high school drama.
I will stick it out... because I have heard the show gets better... and also the promise of endgame Korra and Asami.... I will stick it out this time....!!!!
But God. It's so annoying 😭😭😭😭

I've seen plenty of writer!Dream fics, but what about editor!Dream?
Dream whose publishing company gives platforms and chances to those who don't usually get them (poc, LGBTQ+, disabled, etc.), who chooses stories that actually have interesting premises and not just looking for what would sell well, who is a master at inspiring even those under the heaviest writer's block. Dream who is described as being the toughest editor to work with but every author who works with him are so utterly grateful for it.
Editor!Dream.

does pbamb obi know that anakin used to be vader? Was vader like a known palp lackey back then?
Bc i couldn’t remember if it was mentioned and this would be such a funny time for anakin to pull that nickname back out & obi wan realizes & can’t do literally anything about it (he’s so manipulative & anakin is so vulnerable right now and he can’t take advantage he must be struggling lmao) (& he is has been v careful to distinguish himself from palp as far as anakin’s experiences & like maybe going back to that name would jar obi into realizing that there might be some srs backlash to his shit ass decision)
Hey!! Yes he does know! The finding out comes around chapter 3 of the original PBATMB fic — Anakin has left after sleeping with him even though obi-wan practically staked his claim on him that night, and obi-wan demands that Rex and Cody find out everything they can on his pretty bird in flight….they dig up Vader (after all, anakin was still fighting in rings under the name Vader so it’s not the hardest of struggles to find)
Knowing Anakin was Vader and Vader is still Anakin makes him all the more fascinating to Obi-Wan, and it definitely guides his actions and how he chooses to lure Anakin back to him and keep him by his side. He knows about his past and seems to make the leap that Anakin is trying to forget about it all and separate himself from “Vader” — and that’s why he sends his hitman after him. Because anakin will have to kill him and he assumes (and is correct) that that would be the first kill Anakin makes since running from Palpatine, and he wants to prove to Anakin that there is no Vader. It’s just Anakin and all the monstrous things that Anakin is capable of.
That’s also why in Vowbreaker when Anakin goes off the rails but also importantly decides to live until he catches and kills his stalker, he has to find the one part of himself Obi-Wan said didn’t exist, the part of him he hid behind for years before Obi-Wan came around and convinced him that part never existed. Obi-Wan never really interacted with Anakin’s idea of Vader because Obi-Wan spent all their time together coaxing Anakin into realizing/believing that it was him all along, just under a different name. He didn’t have time for Anakin’s make-believe, and that’s part of the reason Anakin is able to survive post Obi-Wan’s fake death. He can once more retreat behind Vader.
BUT ultimately this actually just proves obi-wan right about there being no Vader because in Vader’s narration, he keeps slipping up and showing care or grief that is purely Anakin’s, and there are even lines in the last chapter posted and the one in my drafts where Vader calls himself Anakin by mistake

There are certain open loving characters that have the capability to love anyone. Not in a 'I ship them with everyone' way but more in a 'They can find the beauty and lovable aspects of anyone they meet if given the chance' An I absolutely live for them tbh.
