how i would run sm: Red Velvet edition

back to the series with the next logical group, Red Velvet. sm's first group after Exo and my ult girl group, similarly under a cut as per last post

triple debut (2014-2015): so to start, i actually dont mind Happiness as RV's debut and that its ot4. Yeri was really young, so i wouldnt really change those first two eras (Be Natural is my beloved but its a single and a remake so it doesnt count as their first cb in my eyes). what i would change is the schedules and some promo.

firstly, like Exo i think RV would have benefited from some sort of webtoon or lore comic starting at the second debut for ICC bc thats when we start to get hints that something in Cake Land isnt right. i have a lot of thoughts on RV lore/storyline which we will cover in the upcoming kwangya post (after nct and aespa posts bc they are integral to my version of kwangya).

second, Seulgi should have solo debuted in 2015 between Dumb Dumb and the lesbian christmas song (Wish Tree was iconic and we love Lee Jooyoung). shes been RV's ace since pre-debut, everyone knew and loved her and acknowledged her talents, and she was in multiple mvs of her sunbaes (Henry's Fantastic was the best). Seulgi being the first solo RV member feels right in every way, and while it would be very different than what we got for 28 Reasons, i think that might be partially a good thing.

the start of the success era (2016-2017): Russian Roulette was perfect and i have nothing to say about it. The only thing I would have done differently for them in 2016 was pushed for more solo/unit content, like station songs, vlogs, arts and crafts vids? like just stuff where theyre having fun and hanging out with no pressure. the main 2017 change tho is Joy solo debut. sm is so fucking stupid for NOT capitalizing on the attention Joy got from The Liar and His Lover, a show all about how perfect and amazing she is as a singer! like have her prepare and record between Red Flavor and Peek a Boo and have Peek a Boo pushed back a week or two. the concerts were a good idea, but they really should have capitalized on Joy's performance more. im still annoyed she hasnt properly debuted especially bc clips of her singing from TLAHL was what made me look into RV in the first place and why Joy is my girl ult of ults

Bad Boy (2018): id push Bad Boy back a little bc the time between PaB and BB feels too short, especially going by my plan. other than that, no major notes since the eras were pretty good and the concerts were a good idea. maybe a bit more of a rest after RBB bc of the short turn around time between that and the Japan cb + NA tour

ReVe Fest pt.1 (2019): the Ellie Goulding collab was amazing. ReVe Fest day 1 was a mess, and i say that as a Zimzalabim supporter. the styling was horrific and it all needs to go, the mv should have been more circusy and less performance vid imo, and the song is fine but maybe a less chanty chorus? ReVe Fest day 2 was good and idk why people hate Umpah Umpah bc it was cute and summery like it should have been. and then the Finale, Psycho was one of the best eras taken from us too quickly. i mean the only thing to change is to stop wendy from falling bc that killed the whole momentum and their careers for a hot minute.

the hiatus (2020): now to be clear, i am not blaming wendy for her injury or suggesting she should have come back early. its good she rested and healed properly and came back slowly to make sure everything was okay. every idol should do that. that being said, we should have gotten an ot4 album even if it was just a mini. the girls basically did nothing for a whole year waiting for her and it really did hurt them/their momentum. they should have had more solo content through the year alongside the like two group things, then Seulrene debut in june like originally planned, and then and ot4 album in fall or winter.

back on track? (2021): ot5 being at smtown was great and got everyone hyped to see the group after a full year of hiatus and they teased a cb at the performance. and then wendy killed the hype by doing her solo debut 4 months later with a ballady slow song. and she had the audacity to be like "omg i feel so bad for making everyone wait and then doing a solo" like girl wtf?? anyway gripes about her aside. Queendom was cute, but it felt lackluster after the long wait and felt more like a b-side than a title. also the mv/concepts teased all this magic and powers and a whole universe only to give us literally nothing after the first minute. why were they in a post office when the teasers were about the antique shop?? i would have changed the mv a lot to either expand on the magic or fit the teasers better.

ReVe Fest pt.2 (2022): sm cancelled the concert (rightly) bc the girls got covid but then never rescheduled bc there were "no venues open" even tho the same thing happened to dream and they got rescheduled in like two weeks so what the fuck is that about? um anyway they should have done a concert after Feel My Rhythm but also not named it ReVe Fest bc theres no point and they arent connected. ALSO FMR was beautiful and all but what happened to the ballet concept which wasnt in the mv and why did they not expand on the weird half story with Dark Queen Seulgi and the garden etc? also also FMR felt like a b-side too which was disappointing especially after queendom. and im skipping ahead to birthday bc that was actually the biggest let down of the year. the concept/teaser photos had literally nothing to do with the mv or song, the song itself was easily their worst title and did not sound good in any way, the mv styling wasnt great for pretty much everyone, the cake ver selling out before preorders even ended and before they showed us what it was/what was in it was super annoying. birthday is the biggest let down era imo and ESPECIALLY after the beauty of Wildside. Wildside was the only release in 2022 for RV that i actually 100% enjoyed from the style to the mv to the song to the plot in the mv. like it was perfect and exactly what we should have gotten as a Korean title and era. i would have absolutely done something similar for birthday, especially with the grunge outfits/concept

future plans/ideas: Yeri and Irene solo debuts, Seulrene cb, Joy actual debut this time, more solo schedules especially for the actresses, more Yeri vlogs, Seulgi cb with a better song, my highly indulgent KaiJoyYuta trio, an even more indulgent trio of Seulgi/BoA/Yunho, i think thats all i have off the top of my head.

next week nct u and the way nct overall would function before we get into the actual units

Girl Groups #2

TWICE

TWICE is a 9 member girl group under JYP Entertainment. The group consists of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. They debuted in 2015 with the song called “ Like OOH-AHH”.

TWICE was one of the first Korean girl group I ever got into. For almost 4 years they were doing cute concepts which I usually hate, but when I listened to their songs I felt so energized and I really fell in love with the cuteness. Since 2019, they are doing more mature concepts, but I still love them the same as I did before.

Red Velvet

Red Velvet is a 5 member girl group under SM Entertainment. The group currently consists of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri. They debuted in 2014 with the song called “Happiness”.

Red Velvet was the first-ever Korean girl group I got into. I first saw them at MAMA back in 2017 where they performed "Peek-A-Boo", which is still my favorite song of theirs.

Red Velvet debuted as a four-member group, but Yeri was added during their first comeback.

After their "Bad Boy" comeback in early 2018, I started to drift away from them but came back quickly when "Psycho" was released.

Unfortunately, one of the members, Wendy, had a very bad injury last December when she fell off from the stage. Her injuries included a pelvic fracture, a broken wrist, and a cracked cheekbone, all on the right side of her body. Ever since then RV didn't have a comeback, Irene and Seulgi debuted as a duo, Yeri has been modeling and Joy had acting jobs and was featured on some songs.

WJSN

WJSN (Cosmic Girls) is a 13 member girl group under Starship Entertainment. The group consists of Exy, Seola, Xuan Yi, Bona, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi, Yeoreum, Dayoung and Yeonjung. They debuted in 2016 with two songs called “Mo Mo Mo” and ”Catch Me”.

I fell in love with WJSN because they have the most inspiring lyrics ever. Listening to their songs gives me courage and strength.

Since 2018 WJSN has been promoting as a 10 member group. The three Chinese members went back to China. Cheng Xiao was a mentor of a survival show and now she's acting, while Xuan Yi and Mei Qi joined a survival show, and were in a Chinese group for 2 years. As of now, it seems like unfortunately, they won't come back to the group.

PRISTIN

Pristin was a 10 member girl group under Pledis Entertainment. The group consisted of Nayoung, Roa, Yuha, Eunwoo, Rena, Kyulkyung, Yehana, Sungyeon, Xiyeon, and Kyla. They debuted in 2017 with the song called “WEE WOO”. They disbanded on May 24, 2019.

PRISTIN is the perfect example of when a company ruins a group's carrier. PRISTIN's 2017 debut was surrounded with high expectations. The group had two former IOI members, so everyone paid attention to them. They won every rookie of the year award, but their youngest member, Kyla was fat-shamed by Knetz so she went back to the US at the end of 2017. After that, Pledis debuted a sub-unit called Pristin V in May, 2018 but then forgot about them. Their disbandment was a big shock and heartbreak for me.

HINAPIA

HINAPIA was a 5 member girl group under OSR Entertainment. The group consisted of Minkyeung, Gyeongwon, Eunwoo, Yaebin and Bada. They debuted in 2019 with the song called “DRIP”. They disbanded on August 21, 2020.

I was very excited when I heard that four former PRISTIN members will debut together again under the name HINAPIA, plus one new member will also join them. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, their company went bankrupt so the girls didn't renew their contracts and the group disbanded 10 months after their debut.

Weki Meki

Weki Meki is an 8 member girl group under Fantagio. The group consists of Suyeon, Elly, Yoojung, Doyeon, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy. They debuted in 2017 with the song called “I don't like your Girlfriend”.

Girls’ Generation

Girls’ Generation (SNSD) is an 8 member girl group under SM Entertainment. The group currently consists of Taeyeon, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Yoona, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun. They debuted in 2007 with the song called “Into The New World”.

Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun left S.M. Entertainment on the 9th of October, 2017 but for now, their departure from SNSD wasn’t confirmed.

SNSD aka the Nation’s Girl Group.

LOONA

LOONA is a 12 member girl group under Blockberry Creative. The group consists of Haseul, Vivi, Yves, JinSoul, Kim Lip, Chuu, Heejin, Hyunjin, Go Won, Choerry, Olivia Hye and Yeojin. They debuted in 2018 with the song called “Hi High”.

Cherry Bullet

Cherry Bullet is a 7 member girl group under FNC Entertainment. The group currently consists of Haeyoon, Yuju, Bora, Jiwon, Remi, Chaerin, and May. They debuted in 2019 with the song called “Q&A”.

Rocket Punch

Rocket Punch is a 6 member girl group under Woolim Entertainment. The group consists of Juri, Yeonhee, Suyun, Yunkyoung, Sohee and Dahyun. They debuted in 2019 with the song called “Bim Bam Bum”.

BVNDIT

BVNDIT is a 5 member girl group under MNH Entertainment. The group consists of Yiyeon, Songhee, Jungwoo, Simyeong and Seungeun. They debuted in 2019 with the song called “Hocus Pocus”.

GFRIEND

GFRIEND is a 6 member girl group under Source Music. The group consists of Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji. They debuted in 2015 with the song called “Glass Bead”.

STAYC

STAYC is a 6 member girl group under High Up Entertainment. The group consists of Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J. They debuted in 2020 with the song called “So Bad”.

Purple Beck

Purple Beck is a 5 member girl group under Majesty Entertainment. The group consists of Yeowool, Yerim, Layeon, Mini, and Seyeon. They debuted in 2019 with the song called “Crystal Ball”.

CRAXY

CRAXY is a 5 member girl group under S.A ITAINMENT. The group consists of Woo-Ah, Karin, Hyejin, Swan and ChaeY. They debuted in 2020 with the song called “ARIA”.

aespa

aespa is a 4 member girl group under SM Entertainment. The group consists of Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing. They will debut on November 17, 2020 with the song called “Black Mamba“.

Failure or success with this whole AI thing? I guess we will see it in a couple of days. As for now, I'm not really into the idea.

how long i’ve been a fan: around may 2017? that was when i started really stanning them. the only reason i remember a more specific timeframe was bc it was when they first appeared at the bbma’s. before that, i was more of a casual listener

the first song i heard by them: either baepsae (on vine??! i didnt know it was by bts at first till i stanned), dope, or war of hormone. cant remember for sure

my favorite song as of now: oh boy .. there’s too many. i’m gonna just do one song from almost every album/ep to cut the list down, otherwise it’d be far too long. so some faves include: louder than bombs, tear, 134340, crystal snow, pied piper, filter, 2! 3!, baepsae, butterfly, house of cards, boyz with fun, rain, just one day, tomorrow, like all the cyphers, we on, like (pt 2 specifically is a fav) ... and this list is still so long! wow

hey! i wanna at least try to get into kpop, to see what all the fuss is abt, and youre the first blog that comes to mind abt that stuff. do you have any recs!? or comments?? anything really, i'm interested in what you have to say

i have recs!!! first of all ty for asking me abt it hdgfs !! i’ll make u a list !! i will try to stay concise but i have bolded n linked the most important stuff since i tend to blabber a lot! there r groups i purposely didnt recommend! also! i advise you to look up who did what if you want to know why idcs abt certain artists that r big in kpop (like big//ba//ng, su//ju, bl//ock//b, ma//ma//moo & so on) tl;dr: kpop basics (spotify) + @tearera (my kpop sb)

i’ll start w some RECS but jsyk kpop as u might have heard of it is mainly composed of groups! which is why i’ll start w groups then soloists! of course u can check out most of them on spotify (u can listen to their playlist of the most famous songs atm!). please notice that the kpop industry is very ‘classic’ when it comes to concepts (cute r for gorls! badass r for boys!) so um. yeah. yikes. if i had to argue abt all the things i find wrong in this industry this post would become a manifesto, u can always pm me if u want to hear me complain lmao

GIRL GROUPS

honestly…. TWICE are the first one that came to my mind when i thought of ggs to rec. they’re a 9 member group labelled under jyp entertainment n have debuted in 2015 with the bop like ooh aah… that u can listen to! their genre is mainly cute songs but dont be fooled!! they have extremely powerful songs & lyrics as well! some good starts with their music are LIKEY (2017, a bop, great melody, great rapping, one of their ult feel good songs, played @ the olympics), TT (2016, queens of halloween!), and also their most recent song WHAT IS LOVE (2018, iconic!! gay!! bop!! sweet!! great album!!). as twice are the kind that can set you off by their cuteness and playful vibes, i recommend you to check out some of their side tracks. personality wise, the girls r very fun and sweet! they’re all angels and i love them all THIS MUCH!! if u want to know, sana & dahyun r my favourite members!

also queens, but from sm entertainment this time, Red Velvet are a 5 member gg who have debuted in 2015 with the song Happiness (at that time they were only 4 but the youngest member, Yeri, joined later on!). some very famous songs of theirs are… basically all their title tracks but i’d mainly recommend Russian Roulette, Dumb Dumb (also my fave rv music video!!), Peek-a-boo (what’s better than lesbians witches slaying men and eating pizza), Bad Boy (honestly… one of their best songs… title track of their repackaged album…good shit if u will). of course! there are some side tracks i will recommend! i will frankly say that i listen to a lot of their music and they’re my favourite musically! some faves in no particular order are automatic, cool hot sweet love, huff n puff, something kinda crazy, about love, kingdom come, little little and talk to me! they have very versatile genres and have two main themes of music, the red and the velvet, though these mix often! rlly! their music really good. they have amazing choreographies too!!!!

the third gg i will rec are one that have not debuted yet, it’s LOONA! get ready bc they are a 12 member group with one girl for every month. each girl was revealed every month staring from 2016 with a single album composed of one song and one side track that usually features another member! as this group has yet to debut, i cannot show you anything with all twelve members but! they work with units, there are three: loona 1/3, odd eye circle, and yyxy (tune in for their debut scheduled for may!) that each have an album. 1/3 r more of a cute girly concept, while odd eye circle have played strongly on the girl crush & rnb concept. we have yet to see what yyxy has for us n im frankly v excited!!! my fave singles are Around You (hyunjin), Let Me In (haseul), Singing in the rain (jinsoul, best girl), Eclipse (kim lip), and Heart Attack (by chuu!! also best girl). they have already released a lot of music so go ahead & listen to it! their music videos have a plot and it’s one of those theories fandom (loonaverse)! the positions that all the members will have wasn’t been revealed yet!

then here’s a list of ggs that’s not as detailed bc it would be too long: clc (they r…the girls….), exid (vocals, social criticism, sexy), blackpink (5 songs out but theyre all top notch), f(x) (v good music! bring them back from the war), gfriend (cute & refreshing concepts! v tight choreographies! sweet girls!), aoa, & many more! groups i dont rec bc i dont stan but that u should know of: snsd, 2ne1; that have disbanded but shouldnt have: sistar

BOY GROUPS

ok i stan two boy groups so that’ll be quick! i’ll also rec plenty of music!

the main group i stan is BTS aka the bangtan boys and yes… they’re everywhere… they deserve it tbh… so theyre a 7 member boy group and they’re the first kpop group i ever stanned! they have released a lot of songs already but i’ll just mark something! bts are known for their cinematography and plot in their music videos as well as their politically/socially engaged songs. they debuted in 2013 with the youth-conscious song no more dream and um. forget the mv. the message is what’s important. secondly! my favourite eps & albums are DARK&WILD (forget abt war of hormone), The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt2, WINGS, and Love Yourself 轉 Tear (which will be released on May 18th so stay tuned!). here’s a beginner’s list to bts & their music videos: spring day, blood sweat & tears, run, fire, i need u, and intros: singularity, serendipity. i cannot recommend bts songs bc i’d be unable to pick some, but here is my bangtan favourites playlist and spotify’s This Is BTS! n their most known song atm, still on charts, DNA. another thing!! they dabble in a lot of genres! there is a constant symbolism in most of their songs and music videos, which is why there are theories! also, here are my fave choreos (x x x) & non-official releases (x x x)! also! j-hope recently released a mixtape! check it out! it’s v good! the bad thing is that the fandom is massive n it is filled with young fans so a lot of fan-created content is cringey. apart from that! theyre lovely as a band n i’m not ashamed to say that they bring me most of my joy these days!

then there is… NCT. ok, let’s dive into them. nct is the acronym for Neo Culture Technology, they’re currently an 18 member boy group but hey! don’t be scared! they too work in units and have only released one song which features all 18 of them! it is likely that the band will expand later on & that the name NCT will become a brand (like akb48 u know). so far! there are three units! NCT DREAM (based on age, with the youngest members who r still minors), NCT U (the first unit to have debuted, aka nct united, a rotative unit with no fixed genre or members list) and NCT 127 (seoul based unit, fixed, with 9 members). they’re known for their experimentative and diversified sound, which goes from ballads to… this. while each unit have their distinct genre and vibe, they’re all under the same label of nct! and um, check out spotify’s nct playlist if u want! here r some songs that are basics! bolded r the faves! jsyk i hated their music & their clothes @ first bc it’s so unique so dw if u dislike them!

127: cherry bomb, limitless (gross hair but spectacular song), touch, back to u, 0 mile, sun & moon, angel

the last group i’ll present in length n that u should know about is SEVENTEEN. they’re a 13 member boy group & work in units as well but mainly promote w all the members! they’re the fun, sweet, talented, heartfelt refreshing boys we all love tbh! so! seventeen debuted in 2015 with the bop adore u and since then it’s been great song over great song… they also have great choreos! they’re the easiest group to listen to imo bc their songs are mostly light and very similar to what you can hear on teen top radios! then, they get stuck in your head very easily! here are some songs u can listen to that will make your day! mansae, very nice, pretty u, clap, don’t wanna cry, change up, n there are many more! some of my faves are when i grow up, trauma, still lonely, rocket, crazy in love, lean on me, and uhgh rlly all of their songs tbh! three units better known as teams: hip-hop, performance and vocal, with a leader in each. they put up great performances!!

then there is shinee, mostly nicknamed the kings of kpop, i’d make a very long desc but! i suggest you to see for yourself as the fandom is v helpful!

here are some boy groups that i rec but wont go in length with: pentagon (i stan!), monsta x (edm, powerful dances), shinee, exo (great vocals, great choreos, v good music), astro (bubblegum but v heartwarming! vocals), day6 (rock band, great songs), wanna one & many more! rlly um bgs arent the thing that’s lacking in kpop!

a bit in the middle: KARD (mixed group!!! great music & genderless, breaking the usual hardcore is for boys & cutesy is for girls concept)

SOLOISTS

more of a solo person? check out artists like hyuna (ex member of both wonder girls & 4minute), iu, heize (a personal fave!), sunmi (ex member of wonder girls), taemin (member of shinee), amber liu (current member of fx! also released a mixtape recently!) hyolyn or dean… tbh there r many! these r just the ones i can think off the top of my head! theyre honestly easy to listen to so just look up their names on yt & u should find some good things!

Hallo chingu, udah lama gue ga nulis TT TT. Ok, sekarang gue mau update lagi ini. Gue awali dari kesan gue ngedenger lirik dan MV WANNA ONE yang movie ver. ya chingu. Jujur gue baru beberapa hari yang lalu liat yang movie ver. Pas rilis gue langsung liat MVnya, performnya di MNET juga, cuman yang MV movie ver-nya belom. Secara lagu, lirik, sepintas gue suka, apalagi dancenya, bagus. Nah kesan gue pertama kali ngeliat MV movie versionnya adalah NANGIS chingu, langsung haru, keluar airmata. Liriknya dalem banget, dan itu tervisualkan dengan sangat bagus di movie ver-nya menurut gue. Lagu itu kan cuman masalah interpretasi aja sebenernya. Pernah ga kalian baca postingan gue tentang Tulus yang paling awal? Part 1. Di situ gue tahu kalo dari sudut pandang seni, justru pertunjukan yang bagus itu yang membuka pintu2 interpretasi dari yang nonton chingu. Jadi bebas, entah lagu, entah MV, kita bisa menginterpretasikannya dengan pikiran dan selera kita masing2. Bisa kita hubungkan dengan kenangan yang pernah kita alami, harapan kita pada sesuatu, imajinasi kita dan sebagainya. Kemarin gue sempet banyak liat video2 Red Velvet pas mereka promo “Peek A Boo” chingu. Di situ banyak yang nanya sebenernya MV itu maksudnya gimana. Gimana nasib si pengantar pizza itu akhirnya. Pas ditanya, RV sendiri bilang kalo itu terserah kita yang mau menginterpretasi kayak gimana. Mereka sendiri juga ga bisa kalo disuruh ngejelasin secara saklek. Karena itulah seni pertunjukan, dibuat seimajinatif mungkin supaya membuka pintu2 interpretasi kita sebagai penonton. Ga ada yang salah dengan interpretasi kita. Seni bukan kayak matematika yang 1+1=2, tapi dia bebas, sesuai dengan imajinasi dan selera kita masing2. Sesuatu yang luwes, sesuatu yang dinikmatinya itu udah ga melulu pake otak tapi mainnya udah ke hati, perasaan. Kenapa orang bisa suka lukisan abstrak? Ya karena ada orang2 yang ngerasa lukisan itu mewakili jiwanya, masuk ke hatinya, sesuai dengan apa yang dia rasakan, dia suka gaya lukisan seperti itu dsb. Tapi ada juga tipe orang yang suka lukisan yang perfect, yang detil sampe kayak nyata, itu cuman masalah selera saja. Suarapun sama, ada orang yang suka tipe penyanyi bersuara emas dan perfect. Tapi ada juga yang suka penyanyi yang suaranya ga perfect2 banget (nada tinggi ga nyampe, agak cempreng dsb) tapi berkarakter, with his/her own style, itu semua punya penikmatnya sendiri. Lirikpun sama, ada orang yang suka lirik2 puitis, indah, bermakna dan berat, tapi ada juga orang2 yang suka lirik2 yang simple aja. Makanya ada orang yg suka lirik2 BTS yang “berat” misalnya, tapi tetep akan selalu ada orang yg suka boyband lain yang mungkin liriknya lebih simple. Itu ga ada masalah, cuman perkara selera aja. Gue suka BTS, suka WANNA ONE, itu bukan berarti yang lain jelek, sama sekali ga gitu. Itu cuman masalah selera aja. Dan gue yakin kok semua punya penikmatnya masing2. Makanya ada namanya fandom, mereka mengelompokkan diri ke sekumpulan orang yang punya selera sama. Orang yang suka mancing punya komunitas sendiri, yang suka naik sepeda juga punya, yang suka kpop-pun ada, semua ga ada smasalah, asal bukan komunitas yang negative (melanggar hukum, norma2 dsb). Lebih respect chingu sama selera orang, inipun nasehat ke gue juga. Sadari kalo selera orang itu beda2, sehingga harus dihargai, dihormati. Jangan asal bully orang hanya karena dia punya selera yang mungkin beda dengan kita. Asal itu ga melanggar hukum, ga melanggar aturan/norma, ya hormatilah. Termasuk ketika kita memberi reaksi kepada MV/lagu/apapun, ayo respect kepada pendapat orang, karena itu interpretasi dia. Kalian juga bisa berinterpretasi sendiri. Gue rasa menginterpretasi seni itu adalah hal yang menyenangkan chingu, bisa membangkitkan memori kita, imajinasi dan kreativitas kita juga, sekaligus belajar saling menghargai selera.

Ok, lalu bagaimana interpretasi gue tentang lagu “beautiful” WANNA ONE itu? Gue rasa itu udah terwakili chingu di movie versionnya. Lagu yang menceritakan kerinduan paling tulus seseorang kepada orang yang sangat dia cintai dan orang itu udah ga ada. Kalo di MVnya diceritakan saudara kan, saudara yang terpisah ketika kecil dan pas dewasa meskipun ketemu tapi harus berpisah lagi karena kejadian yang ga mengenakkan. Kalian mungkin pernah kehilangan orang seperti itu juga. Kehilangan orang yang hatinya sangat indah, lebih indah dari siapapun, seperti malaikat. Orang yang begitu berharga bagi kalian dan kalian ngerasa menjadi orang bodoh ketika dia udah ga ada. Biasanya kan gitu, kita baru merasa kehilangan kalo orang yang berharga bagi diri kita itu udah pergi. Padahal pas dia masih ada, kita ga memberikan yang terbaik ke dia. Bahkan mungkin pernah menyakiti hatinya, padahal dia baik banget sama kita. Jadi orang bodoh kan kita jadinya? Gue pernah ada di situasi kayak gitu chingu. Seandainya orang itu masih hidup, gue akan menjadi orang yang lebih baik untuk dia. Tapi sayang, dia udah ga ada, dan itu menjadikan diri gue sering dilanda rasa kerinduan yang begitu besar chingu. Rasa kerinduan yang sering bikin gue nangis sendiri, menyesali kebodohan gue, nyesek sekali di hati ini rasanya. Terutama keluarga chingu, sebisanya berbuat baiklah pada mereka, karena ketika ada dari mereka yang udah ga ada, rasa kerinduan itu akan sangat menyesakkan hati kalian jika dulu kalian ngerasa belum melakukan yang terbaik ke mereka. Toh jika kalian sudah merasa melakukan yang terbaik, perasaan itu pasti akan tetap ada. Akan ada saja kenangan entah yang indah ataupun yang tidak yang suatu saat akan terbersit dan bisa membuat kalian membiru mendadak, menjadi begitu terharu seketika. Mungkin karena gue merasa relate sama MV itu makanya sekali liat langsung nangis chingu. Dan akhirnya, yang bisa dilakukan “orang bodoh” ini hanyalah berdoa supaya kerinduan ini sampai ke langit kayak di liriknya. Liriknya lagu itu indah banget kan ya. Kenangan ga akan bisa hilang, seperti samudra, luas dan memenuhi semua relung hati kita chingu. Dan hanya itulah yang tersisa saat ini. Jadi jika waktu bisa diulang kembali, aku ingin bertemu lagi denganmu dengan bunga2 di tanganku yang indah seperti indahnya dirimu. Aku ingin tampil dengan tampilan paling baik di depanmu dan bisa memelukmu. Bunga, itu begitu punya kenangan buat gue chingu. Gimana hari2 minggu gue dulu ketika kecil disibukkan dengan berkebun, termasuk menanam bunga. Dan pada akhirnya hanya satu kata yang paling tulus yang terucap dari bibir ini kepadanya, yaitu “aku merindukanmu”.

Wah..jadi mendadak mellow ini, hehe. Itu chingu kurang lebih interpretasi gue terhadap lagu itu. Lagu yang begitu indah. Mengungkapkan kerinduan paling tulus dari seseorang untuk orang lain yang sangat dia cintai. Ok, sekarang kita ke hal2 lain tentang WANNA ONE dkk yang gue ambil dari video2 mereka yah chingu, lets go!

Di salah satu interview, member2 WANNA ONE ditanya seperti apa mereka sebelum menjadi bagian dari WANNA ONE. JiHoon bilang kalo pertanyaan “kapan aku akan debut? Bisakah aku debut”, itu selalu dia pikirkan sebelumnya. Dan dia bilang memutuskan untuk ga akan menyerah demi keluarganya chingu, dia akan bekerja keras demi keluarganya. Kalo SeongWoo, ketika belum debut dia ngerasa ga ada kesempatan baginya buat menunjukkan apa yang dia bisa dan hanya secara terus menerus berlatih di ruang latihan. Kalo JiSung, dia hampir 4 kali debut chingu cuman ga jadi terus. Kalo WooJin, karena dia terus2an gagal, maka ada banyak waktu dimana dia berpikir “ah, apa aku harus menyerah saja?”, dia rupayanya sampai di titik seperti itu juga chingu. Berarti memang WANNA ONE adalah orang2 yang pernah gagal dan ga jelas juga akan gimana kedepannya sebelum mengikuti PRODUCE 101. Mereka bangkit dari kegagalan dan berjuang lagi dengan berani untuk bisa memperoleh hasil yang terbaik, keren! Meskipun nampaknya mereka keren2, sangat berbakat dsb, tapi mereka tidak memperoleh hasil seperti sekarang ini dengan mudah, mereka berjuang keras untuk bisa mendapatkannya, bahkan bertahun2. SungWoon juga meskipun udah pernah debut (HOTSHOT) juga merasakan ketidakstabilan chingu. Ya kita tahu kan, banyak sekali boyband maupun girlband di Korea yang udah debut cuman mereka ga terkenal dan malah rugi atau bahkan bubar. Makanya kan jadi ada acara2 kayak The Unit atau Mixnine dan juga Produce 101 sendiri yang mencoba memfasilitasi mereka untuk bisa ngerestart diri mereka lagi, menunjukkan sisi yang lebih baik dan akhirnya bisa disukai oleh penggemar. Untuk MinHyun, ketika akan ikut Produce 101 dia juga mikir dan beban tentang “bisakah aku melakukan yang terbaik jika aku pergi ke show itu?”. Bae JinYoung juga merasa sangat risky ketika itu chingu karena dia sering berada di peringkat 12 sedangkan member WANNA ONE hanya aka nada 11. Lai GuanLin yang dari Taiwanpun ngerasa ga jelas juga sebelum debut. Pikiran kayak “mungkin aku ga bisa lagi berlatih besok dan harus meninggalkan perusahaan” sering dia pikirkan. JaeHwan sama chingu, sebelum menjadi anggota WANNA ONE, dia selalu merasa ada yang kurang, masa depannya ga jelas. Meskipun begitu, ada attitude/hal yang selalu JaeHwan bawa yakni “I CAN DO IT”. Bener banget ini, KITA PASTI BISA, harus semangat dan ga boleh nyerah.

Untuk mengatasi masa training yang berat, cara yang Daniel lakukan untuk memberi dia kekuatan adalah merekam hasil latihannya chingu dan melihat peningkatannya hari demi hari. Kalo DaeHwi, upaya dia supaya lebih kuat di masa2 training adalah dengan menulis lagu. Karena dengan menulis lagu, dia harus fokus. Karena dia fokus, makanya dia jadi ga bisa merasakan apakah dia sedang senang atau sedih, dia akan terlalu fokus pada kegiatan itu (perhatiannya teralih). Kalo MinHyun, dia seneng ngambil gambar (foto2) chingu. Mimpi MinHyun adalah ke Islandia dan fotoin Aurora di sana *wah..indah sekali*. Dia pengen suatu hari nanti bisa kesana dan ngambiul gambar di sana, dan itu dia rasa adalah healing time. Untuk WooJin, dukungan orangtuanya berperan besar dalam karirnya sekarang chingu, dukungan dari guru2nya juga. Mereka banyak memberi nasehat dan itu menguatkan WooJin. Selain itu WooJin juga suka mendengarkan musik dengan earphone, itu jadi healing juga buat dia. Kalo GuanLin, kata2 baik dan hangat dari senior dan dongsaeng2nya membuat dia mengerti dan merasa harus berusaha lebih keras. Untuk menguatkannya, JiSung suka berkomunikasi dengan saudara perempuannya chingu, berbicara hal2 yang menyenangkan, bukan yang sedih2/melelahkan, itulah yang menguatkannya. Itu proven lah ya ketika Jisung telfonan sama adik perempuannya. Niatannya mau mengharu biru jatohnya malah lawak, wkwk. Untuk menguatkannya, SungWoon biasanya nelfon temen2nya dan ngajakin ketemu chingu. Ketika temen2nya bilang “kamu sudah berusaha keras”, itu memberi dia kekuatan. Bener chingu, selalu katakan ke diri sendiri (kalo orang lain enggak) bahwa kalian sudah bekerja keras, tidak apa2, bisa dicoba lagi, kalian harus melindungi diri. Kalo semuanya begitu berat, diam lalu tepuklah bahu kalian sendiri sambil berkata “kamu sudah berusaha keras”, itu akan membantu melegakan chingu. Untuk orang lain juga, kalo ngeliat orang yg sedang down semangati dia dengan cara yang kurang lebih seperti itu. Katakan bahwa tidak apa, dia sudah berusaha, gagal bisa dicoba lagi, jangan menyerah, tetap semangat dsb. Meskipun mungkin itu biasa aja bagi kita, bisa jadi membawa dampak yang besar bagi orang lain, contohnya SungWoon ini. Mirop SungWoon, SeongWoo juga, dia biasanya ketemu sama temen2nya supaya dia semangat chingu. Nah kalo Daniel, ibunya pernah ngasih dia kalung yang berwarna jade (lumut) gitu dan itu benda yang menguatkan dia. Ibunya ngasih itu ketika pergi ke Seoul. Daniel denger orang2 berkata itu hadiah dari pacaranya, tidak, itu dari ibunya chingu. Kalo DaeHwi, selain dengan membuat lagu, ketika usianya 1 tahun, ada boneka yang dibelikan ibu sama ayahnya. Ketika dia sedih, dia memegang boneka itu dan menangis. Ga ada alasan ya orang membully cowok yang cherish boneka dsb. Setiap orang punya benda yang penuh kenangan dan bisa membuat dia lebih kuat sendiri2. Kalo JaeHwan, dia biasanya lari chingu kalo lagi sedih. Jadi menahan semuanya sambil nangis. Apapun caranya, gue rasa setiap orang punya caranya masing2 untuk membuat dia kuat. Yang terpenting adalah tetap lindungi diri sendiri chingu #lovemyself #loveyourself.

Tentang lagu “beautiful” sendiri, Jisung bilang bahwa lagu itu adalah lagu yang banyak orang akan bisa relate dengan liriknya, entah keluarga, pasangan dan juga teman *bener! Gue mungkin menginterpretasikannya ke family chingu, tapi bisa jadi kalian menginterpretasikannya dengan pasangan atau teman kalian, sesuatu yang bisa banget relate dengan apa yang kita pernah alami. Ada juga kan orang2 yang kehilangan temennya, pasangannya dsb (Bahkan mungkin idolanya jugas). Nah kalo JaeHwan, dia rasa “beautiful” itu membuat dia banyak memikirkan wannables (fandom mereka chingu). Kalo Daniel, lagu itu adalah lagu yang bisa mengingatkan kita pada musim/periode tertentu dalam hidup kita *bener banget ini. Ndenger ini pasti memori2 entah yang indah, yang sedih, itu bisa muncul lagi*. Bagi JinYoung, dia berharap lagu ini bisa jadi bentuk healing bagi orang sesudah mendengarkannya chingu *jinjja, healing juga lagu ini menurut gue, lagu yang indah*. Sama dengan WooJin, dia ngerasa lagu “beautiful” adalah lagu yang hangat dan bisa menjadi suatu bentuk healing bagi kita yang mendengarkannya.

“Beautiful” sendiri adalah lagu yang genrenya medium tempo ballad chingu. Lagu yang sangat cocok untuk musim gugur, musim ketika lagu itu dirilis dan bisa relate dengan banyak orang.

Member yang paling cepet nangis kalo ada sesuatu yang mengharukan adalah JiSung. Dia paling sensitive di WANNA ONE, haha. Kalo DaeHwi, dia semacam maknae on top, berpengaruh besar dalam grup meskipun maknae. Selain itu, dia adalah member yang paling banyak aegyonya chingu. Kata SungWoo, meskipun JiHoon yang suka aegyo2 kayak “nae mamsoge jojang” dsb, tapi di kehidupan nyata, DaeHwi yang lebih banyak beraegyo. Kata WooJin, DaeHwi itu kalo aegyo udah ga mikir apa2, udah ga ada malu2nya, seperti sebuah kebiasaan, wkwk. SeongWoon juga bilang kalo DaeHwi itu cute. Semua sepakat lah denga kecute-an DaeHwi. Kalo member yang paling berisik itu WooJin chingu *suka bercanda kan ya dia dia ini, suka gemes sama temen2nya, sampe diangkat2 segala, gabisa diem, haha*. Kata DaeHwi yang udah kenal lama sama WooJin, WooJin ini ga bisa nyanyi (karena dia rapper), cuman sekarang sering latihan dan kemampuan skillnya meningkat chingu, udah bagus. Kalo SeongWoo, dia member yang sedikit lemah chingu staminanya, jadi kayak cepet capek gitu. Liat kan di master key? Pas games dia lari2 itu lhoh, keliatan terengah2 banget. Pernah bahkan di acara gitu ada fans teriak “SeongWoo, jangan sakit!”. Kalo MinHyun, dia adalah member yang paling bisa diandalkan dalam menjelaskan schedule mereka chingu. Kalo JiHoon, member2 sepakat kalo dia itu kayak 2 orang. JiHoon yang suka aegyo jojang2 itu sama JiHoon yang pas di dorm. Dia ga cute chingu pas di dorm, lebih ke sangnamja. JiHoonpun mengakui kalo 2 sisi itu dia semua. Sisi yang cute itu dia, yang enggak juga dia *ini pendapat gue aja ya chingu, gue rasa daripada semuanya JiHoon sih yang paling keliatan “sangnamja”. Ketika yang lain suka bercanda2 gitu dia gue liat suka keliatan kayak malu gitu, nunduk gitu, kayak orang dewasa yang ngeliat anak2 kecil pada ga jelas, makanya kayak malu sendiri, wkwk. Terus secara fisik juga kuat. Dia kan yang jadi pemain tinju di MV “beautiful”, yang jago kelahi juga. Agak kayak Suga gitu chingu menurut gue JiHoon ini, ya emang cute cuman sebenernya enggak, haha. Jadi misterius juga jatohnya. Gue bahkan karena dia pernah ngomong akan bekerja keras supaya bisa debut untuk keluarganya jadi ngerasa dia demi kepentingan aja act2 cute gitu, aslinya kayaknya enggak. Terus kan dia juga pernah bilang terbebani juga karena udah dicap bisa bikin act2 cute, makanya berusaha keras lagi untuk bisa nemu act2/kata2 cute yang baru. Pretty much business chingu jadinya. Tapi gue ga gimana2 sih, ya gapapa. Toh kita kan semua tahu mereka jadi artis itu juga buat cari uang juga/kerja, jadi ya sah2 aja kalo mau cute untuk keperluan manggung dsb*. Nah kalo Daniel, member2 lain ngerasa kalo dia itu member yang paling childish (kekanak2an) chingu. Daniel paling suka bercanda yang candaannya itu anak2 banget dan ga berhenti2. Pernah kan chingu gue bahas di postingan sebelumnya. Hal yang ga lucu bagi member lain bagi dia bisa lucu banget dan ga selesai2 ketawanya, wkwk. Nah bagi GuanLin nih, Daniel ini pernah melakukan sesuatu yang menyentuh dia banget chingu. Jadi sebelum show concert debut, GuanLin ini deg2an banget. Nah Daniel yang tahu kemudian ngajak GuanLin makan ramyun bareng dan ketika makan mengatakan “ayo bekerja keras untuk besok!” dan kata2 itu bener2 ngasih Guan Lin semangat. Daniel bagi Jisung adalah orang yang “mendadak terkenal” dan bisa jadi akan sombong dsb, cuman pada kenyataannya Daniel tetep seperti anak2/childish chingu bagi dia dan bagi member2 yang lain juga. Liat kan dia pas di Master Key? Ya childish gitu, cara ketawanya apalagi, pas ngasih komentar juga. Tipe idol yang bakalan akan selalu banyak fansnya gue rasa. Karakternya hangat, menyenangkan soalnya.

WANNA ONE juga banyak dapat penghargaan di tahun ini chingu. Mereka dapat “Best New Male Group” di MAMA 2017. Setelah debut dengan album 1×1=1 (To Be One) dan repackage 1-1=0 (Nothing Without You), mereka akhirnya dapet award Best Male Group di MAMA 2017. Double jadinya, selain dapat rookie award juga sekaligus best male group MAMA 2017. Congratz!!! Selain itu, mereka juga dapet Kakao Hot Star Award, TOP 10 dan juga Best New Artist di Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2017. Congratz!!!

Selain WANNA ONE, ada juga chingu alumni PRODUCE 101 lain yang dapat award juga tahun ini yakni JBJ dan Jung SeWoon yang akhirnya bersolo karir. JBJ dapat Rising Star Awards di Asia Artist Award (AAA) 2017 bareng Jung SeWoon dan beberapa grup lain yakni Gugudan, DIA dan Momoland. JBJ juga dapat award “KPOP Singer Award” dari Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards) 2017 bareng Bolbbalgan4, congratzzz!!! Seneng ya mereka juga bisa dapat penghargaan di jalannya masing. Sekali lagi selamat buat semuanya dan FIGHTING!!! ^^
