Mean Girls: Not only does he LOVE The Og Mean Girls; He Loves The Musical As Well. He Jams to the whole playlist at 2:AM. His Favorite songs are Sexy, Revenge Party, And Stupid With Love. And He always blasts Stupid With Love Whenever he gets a little gay crush on a guy he saw for 5 seconds.

Hamilton: The Ultimate Nerd Musical, For The Ultimate Nerd. This Guy Has Been singing this soundtrack 'Non-Stop' ( Get It? ) Ever Since it went on Broadway. Favorite song's are pretty basic though. ( Non-Stop And Satisfied.) But Still Good.

Beetlejuice: HFIJBNHJJNJKFJN BEST MUSICAL EVER!!- Anyways, This Is the Ultimate Musical For Me And Donnie. He Is a Beetlejuice Kinnie. Favorite songs are Say My Name And That Beautiful Sound.

She’s so dense and he’s so star struck it would take forever for them initially to get together. you're so right about phinks willingly endangering himself by eating HWR reader's cooking though. he's so brave. he'd probably just internally shrug and figure he's had worse, growing up in meteor city and all. the stars shining in HWR reader's eyes when he praises her 'creativity' makes the subsequent suffering worth it.

this made me think about one of the drafts from bloodlines, the scene where phinks meets HWR reader for the first time. his curse of always being a Silly Guy around her originates here.

You bowed your head and introduced yourself as well.

“... Uh, are we s’posed to call you your highness?” Phinks was the next to speak up. Pakunoda shot him an unimpressed look whereas Shalnark fought back laughter.

“I don’t think that’s necessary,” you responded after a moment’s silence. “Can I ask why you’d need to do that?”

He jutted his thumb in Shalnark’s direction. “Shal said you’re royalty or something.”

“Hey, I said akin to royalty, big difference,” This so-called ‘Shalnark’ corrected. Phinks flushed a shade of red that rivaled the blood staining his outfit.

“You fucking— you set me up, didn’t you?”

“If you properly used your ears, maybe this wouldn’t have happened—”

They bickered at each other while Pakunoda got up and sat down next to you.

What musicals the 2012 cast would love most

This was in part inspired by @fabuloustrash05 ‘s post about her Renet headcanons, where she mentioned that Renet likes historical musicals. You can find it here.

Anyway, since I am a theatre performer myself, I decided to associate some musicals with the rest of the TMNT cast. Enjoy ^^

Leonardo

If you were to ask him, he’d claim his favorite is Singin’ in the Rain (which I’ve been in btw). It’s funny and a total blast to watch (though ... the movie is better than the stage show). But in reality, his favorite is Bonnie and Clyde. You cannot convince me otherwise.

Raphael

Like Leo, he also doesn’t tell the truth about his favorite musical. He claims his favorite is Phantom of the Opera. An easy choice, and everyone believes him because it’s just as dramatic as he is lmao. But his favorite is West Side Story. I mean, c’mon, it has gangs, violence, and at its core has a mushy love story. He will not admit he likes it as much as he does.

He seems like a Disney fan. You’d think I would’ve chosen Beauty and the Beast, but nah. The Little Mermaid fits him better (I’ve also been in this show). He’s so insecure about not being human, and he’s also from a big family with an overprotective father, so I think he’d relate to Ariel a lot. Plus she’s a redhead so there’s that lol. Maybe a bit on the nose, but I don’t care.

Michelangelo

“We're a notorious couple of cats

Yeah, he’s a Cats fan. I think he’d love how artistic and chaotic it is. His brothers probably hate it, which only makes him like it more lmao. He hated the movie.

April

I kinda see April as the kinda girl to like the most popular musicals rather than obscure musicals, and I also wanted to choose one that was about strong women. I considered Wicked and Legally Blonde, but Six seemed most appropriate. Also, she’s my queen, so why not choose the one about queens pfft

Casey

“Flashpots are shootin' bright as the sun

Casey’s favorite is Newsies. It just seems so freaking obvious. Plus, the love interest is a journalist, so do with that what you will.

Karai

Like Leo and Raph, she also lies about her fav musical. She says it’s Little Shop of Horrors, and she does like it. The Dentist song cracks her up. But her favorite is Anastasia because it hits close to home. See lyrics above. She also lost her real family at a young age, and didn’t know the truth until she was 16. (Also, Anya is my dream role. I got to see the show on tour!)

Shinigami

“Gotta haunt till it hurts

Shinigami gives me Beetlejuice vibes. I don’t know what else to say about it.

Mona Lisa

It’s my headcanon that Mona loves movies once Raph introduces her to them, so I think she’d like movie musicals more than stage musicals. Her favorite is Mulan. As a soldier herself, she respects how the film takes war seriously while still having uplifting and even funny moments throughout.

Jekyll and Hyde is a musical about murder, the duality of man, and tragic romance, all things that appeal to Lotus Blossom, an assassin with difficult experiences in romance. (Jekyll and Hyde was my favorite musical back when I first got into TMNT, too! Still is a favorite.)

What’s your favorite number?

7 because it was usually my assigned number in elementary school. There was a whole system where we all had numbers after our names that we had to put on the top of our assignments, and because it went in alphabetical order, and because my school was small and the class configuration rarely changed, I was writing "Cora - 7"* at the top of my assignments for years. So a fondness for the number 7 kinda stuck.

*Cora is not my real name but wouldn't you like to know.

What is your job?

Technically the things I am currently employed to do and receive financial compensation for are administering neuropsych assessments to children and then a second part time job as a care aid for a disabled woman.

Arguably my dissertation is my real full time job, except no one pays me to do that. Actually, I pay them so that I can do that. So...

If you could go back to school, would you?

Absolutely not, I'm still trying to get out of school! (one more year one more year one more year...).

Can you parallel park?

Technically, yes. Skillfully? Eh...

A job you had that would surprise people?

None of my past jobs have been all that surprising, I think...human services and customer service, haven't we all been there? Maybe the day camp for disabled kids was a little bit unique.

Do you think aliens are real?

I think it's incredibly arrogant to assume we're the only planet in an ever-expanding universe to have developed life, so yes. What that life looks like, however, is up for debate.

Can you drive a manual car?

I cannot, but more than one person has threatened to teach me.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

British period dramas. And recently, Taylor Swift. I got caught up in the cultural moment of the Eras tour and it turns out when you're not just listening to the pop radio hits, she's a helluva writer. "Would've, Could've, Should've" did unfortunately alter my brain chemistry. I refuse to call myself a swiftie though, I will not be associated with...any of that.

Tattoos?

None yet, but I have a couple ideas- I want "she rules her life like a bird in flight" with some little birds next to it, possibly on my shoulder? Then I want a monarch butterfly on one of my forearms, probably the left, and finally a latin phrase that's connected to my family, I'm thinking on the underside of one my upper arms, again probably the left arm. Undecided on that though, because if I do the butterfly on the left arm maybe I should do the lettering on the right? Or vice versa?

...this is why I haven't committed to anything yet on top of them being expensive.

Favorite color?

Historically, yellow, but more recently blues and purples.

Favorite type of music?

Usually I go for a rock/pop punk sound. But also showtunes. And sometimes just regular pop. I'm kinda basic idk.

Do you like puzzles?

...in video games, sure. Actual table top puzzles? Eh.

Any phobias?

Wasps. Heights. The general concept of death.

Favorite childhood sport?

Ballet and tae kwon do (I almost made it to black belt but then college happened).

Do you talk to yourself?

Constantly. Often as if I'm talking to other people. Sometimes to my snake, Sammy.

What movies do you adore?

Kiki's Delivery Service, Mary Poppins, Anastasia, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and I have a soft spot for 2000s teen movies (think Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, Bring It On). Also, unfortunately, the Harry Potter movies are permanently imprinted on my brain and I cannot disentangle them from some of the most special parts of my childhood. Azkaban in particular is strongly linked to my relationship with my best friend/sister in spirit.

Coffee or tea?

Tea but coffee is growing on me.

First thing you wanted to be growing up?

I think it was veterinarian? That's the first thing I remember anyway.

i keep getting tiktoks about Book of Life and I wanna rewatch that so bad because it's one of my favorite movies. I don't know if it'd fit but I love putting my favorite characters into other media i enjoy (crossovers technically?) so i keep imagining mc and Mammon as Manolo and Maria. And then probably Solomon as Joaquin, just because he's my other favorite.

but Manolo literally sings "heaven knows your name, I've been praying" while trying to serenade Maria and it gets me every time. I have the perfect mental image to redraw that scene with Mammon and Mc but I can't put it on paper so AAAA

anyway i wanted to ask if you had any movie recs or anything because I don't know what to do with myself other than read all day tomorrow. OH AND ALSO IF YOU WERE GONNA WATCH THE ECLIPSE, A COWORKER GAVE ME GLASSES WHICH I WAS HAPPY ABOUT

I hope you enjoy your days off! I think it's always nice to have multiple days in a row... due to be an office gremlin, I always get the two regular weekend days off. I kinda have to use Saturday as a reset day because I'm so exhausted from the week lol. So it's nice to have that extra day for other things! (Usually chores in my case.)

Anyway, I had to look up The Book of Life because I have never heard of it before now. It sounds good! I definitely think you should rewatch it. And yeah, I think that's kinda how it goes with art? You've got the vision in your mind but the hands cannot replicate it. It can be like that with writing, too. It's just trying to convey to someone else the picture you see in your mind and it never comes out the same.

But it's definitely fun to do crossover ideas, like putting characters in other stories. I had a feverish few days obsessing over which Obey Me characters would be who in a King Arthur AU. It's just really interesting to consider how their personalities would change the story, you know? (Not me also kinda thinking about a LOTR AU kadsfkl.)

I'm afraid I may not be the best person to ask for movie recs? I don't watch a lot of movies. Generally I have the attention span problem lol. I do watch them occasionally, like I finally watched Knives Out & Glass Onion which I totally loved. But I suppose it also depends on what sorta genre you're into... I suppose those are like murder mystery style but they're also just very funny. Dang I'm trying to think of other movies I've watched recently but yeah there's not a lot... the most recent thing I've watched is Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon on Netflix which is so so good. I know it's like the tumblr rage right now, but I'm really loving it.

Though due to my inability to watch current movies, I have a lot of older classics that I like. Monty Python and the Holy Grail comes to mind immediately. I also love the old school Clue movie it's so good. And I'm a huge fan of Studio Ghibli movies, so any of those, but I know a lot of peeps have already seen them. Other older animated movies from my childhood like The Road to El Dorado and The Emperor's New Groove and Anastasia. Oh and of course I'm a huge fan of all the Lord of the Rings movies but I know that can be kind of a commitment. I also liked Pan's Labyrinth, The Birdcage, Coco (if you wanna CRY), The Boondock Saints (uh very bloody this one though), and I always kinda had a thing for martial arts movies like I love Legend of the Drunken Master lol but also Hero and of course the classic Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (there's a sequel on Netflix that was also very good). Oh and I did see Everything Everywhere All At Once which I really enjoyed!

Er so I guess that's more than I thought lol. But there are a lot of times when people will be like you haven't seen X movie!?! And I just hafta be like... I don't watch movies a lot, sorry??

As for the eclipse, I am not going to be watching it because I don't have protective eye wear and my eyesight is already terrible. I didn't realize it was happening until like today oops. I did see part of the last one... I think that happened a handful of years ago? I can't quite remember when it was, but I did experience it!

Anyway, I don't know how helpful any of this was, but I hope you enjoy your time off either way!

Probably at least 5

Yeah! I got a patch for my jacket, Marty in his DEVO radiation suit with the caption "Darth Vader. I am an extraterrestrial from the planet Vulcan!"

Zero. Tbh I didnt know they still made them

4. What was a favorite bttf fanfic you read this year?

Probably little stuff (the sweet and the sour) wherein Linda notices some similarities between Marty and her parents' high school friend.

Either this awesome comic by @future-boi or this painting by @slowmotionmovesme that I have saved to my notes and just stare at sometimes.

Oh idk like 20 at the very least. I went on a night hike in the snow last month. It was steep and my boots were not great.

No :( I did seriously consider buying tickets to go to London, but I'd have to borrow the money for it lol. One day...

12. How many times did your mom retell the story of how she and your father met?

None, that I know of. Don't really know what she gets up to these days 🤔 I think my dad mentioned it once or twice though.

sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?

Again, this comes as no surprise to anyone who has spent any length of time around me, but film <3 And also theatre and music of course but film is my whole world as an autistic person, always has been :3 It's hard to explain WHY I latched onto it so hard, but my parents have always affirmed that the first thing to REALLY hold my attention was Disney movies and that's kind of where it all started?

I mean, a part of this comes as self reflection that came with my love for the live action Little Mermaid, but it had me looking back at how the original animated film was my FAVORITE movie as a tiny child; but it really made me think about how even as a child, I saw so much of myself in Ariel and her obsessive, dare I say autistic, love for all things human even though she was limited in how much she could connect with that world herself <3 I'm sure there's a lot of other examples and it runs even deeper than that, but just the fact that film as a medium tells stories that both let you escape from the world and also let you see a part of yourself reflected back at you, even if you're not necessarily aware of it at the time?

And more than that, I add because of how movies like Hereditary and Bones and All and even Nimona made me reevaluate the possibilities of what film can be, it comes down to the fact that movies make you FEEL strong emotions and a really good movie should ultimately make you think to some degree and connect the dots as to the why and how, as part of the overall experience <3 just UGH, MOVIES!!!!!

Dye my hair <3 It's something I've always wanted to do but never had the gumption or really gave myself permission to do, despite my parents finally having gotten over their reservations with it -- probably because my sister recently dyed her hair blonde and it looks fantastic :P I mean my mom also went blonde several decades ago but that's neither here nor there XD But I've always wanted to have red hair; again, going back to the Ariel thing, and other movies I adored as a kid like Anastasia :3 So maybe soon~

nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?

Oh my room is a cluttered nightmare, my sisters gently call my a hoarder :P But as my therapist points out, it's hard to keep your ENTIRE LIFE contained in one tiny room; especially as a collector like me XD But it's largely movie themed; I have posters up everywhere that I brought home from the theatre where I used to work, and I have all kinds of other stuff on display that I've collected and I'm very proud of; like my POP figures, charms, pins, art prints, dolls, plushies, and of course piles of books I have yet to read XD

So my library used to hold movie nights and every movies she picked for us was on par, it was mostly Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, things like that. But one night she put on some movie and it was SO BAD we came and got her and begged her to turn it off. It got sexual REAL quick and we were middle/high schoolers and HIGHLY uncomfortable.

AAAAAAA MY FRIEND I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXCITED THIS ASK MADE ME! THANK YOU! SERIOUSLY!

i had a lot to say about this and also it's mostly a rant about chapter 12 and how stressed out it made me omg

if i am honest ( and it's not kyles fault, kyle is gods angel and my baby and my little man who is taller than me )...chapters 11 and 12 ere the chapters i felt the worse about writing and putting out in peppermint...spanning the whole fanfiction! but it's because i literally didn't plan them...at all! i just wanted to space out the the great depression that was stan season and i wanted you to have context for the tolkien interaction at the end of ten and see the other side of the coin because we were all rooting for stan but like...he literally like accidentally self sabotaged himself and that was important to see.

but yeah i am...not terribly proud of the kyle pile electric boogaloo...particularly chapter 12. i am actually so embarrassed that you guys waited so long and i put out...that. aaaaaaagh. the imposter kyle/real kyle thing was so confusing and deranged, i am so embarrassed about how confusing and weird that was...know that if given the chance i would not have done that again...i should have just given a kyle a more normal human to interact with...but i had already gotten too deep in writing it...i had to commit...smh

we did need that drunk kyle moment though ( he was chaotic but he was such a vibe ), bebe...did need to tell him...what she told him...and the scene at the end at tolkien's house was necessary to frame chapter 13.

so basically...75-80% of 12 was a terrible, horrible crackship crackfic chapter that i viisbly cringed reading and writing...EXCEPT!!!!!! EXCEPT FOR THE FUCKING ROOFTOP SCENE!!!!!!! JUSTICE FOR THE ROOF TOP SCENE THANK YOU FOR ACKNOWLEDGING HER!

it was just such a tender, magical, heart breaking, heart warming moment between the boys. i know that everyone is probably like nina it's been four chapters why haven't they interrupted like one buster!!!! it's a slow burn!!!! but two...that's why there are so many flashbacks, so we can still hangout with the boys and watch them navigate their very beautiful friendship and also...what is clear underlying romantic and sexual tension and where those lines start to blur.

i also just...really like writing stan. i love writing kyle, i am also a control freak, love sweaters, am a cat-coded human, in constant states of anxiety and was very gay for my best friend. but there is something really poetic and so so sad about stan for me, i feel so many strong and complex emotions about him aaaaaaaa. i hope they come across. you save everyone baby!!! but who saves, you?

i think he, while physically beautiful, looks so beautiful reflected through kyle's eyes which is really special bc kyle is so harsh but secretly is so loving and sentimental. also just how trapped in depression and his hero identity stan is and that his life doesn't belong to him but that he dreams a lot about what he could do if it did!!! AAAAA AND VET STAN!!!! I LOVE VET STAN!!!! DOC MCSTUFFINS STAN! hes so cute and crunchy while also being a punk rock angel boy and saving the world in a simple way out of public scrutiny with his flower garden and his herb garden with his scary ass tall ass beautiful ass bf who will kill u on sight...aaaa <3

also sot reference that was also an anastasia reference ( which is like one of my favorite movies ) when dimitri was like princesses don't marry kitchen boys and aaaaaaa like dimtri is so stan coded and KYLE BRO KYLE IS ANASTASIA CODED AS FUCK LIKE THE RED HAIR THE BAD ATTITUDE THE STUBBORNESS EVERYTHING!

but yes...i cannot tell u how mad i am that i stuck what is essentially the best and most beautiful accomplished writing i feel i have created in a long time...into MY LEAST FAVORITE CHAPTER!!!!! like man come on!!!!!! but im glad you noticed it and liked it, it was so powerful and candid and special to me....i love the flashbacks idc if they don't add to the story, you can pry them out of my cold dead hands haha! ily friend thank you for humoring my genius

also...ok 12 was a mess, but 13 is actually my masterpiece i will not be taking any criticism on 13 i am obsessed with thirteen. it's going to be long and i am ready to live with that. it's like one of my favorite chapters and i planned the fuck out of it! so please...thank u for suffering through 12. may the rooftop scene carry you until then.

What was your favorite Disney movie as a kid?

Boy oh boy, what a tough one. I was obsessed with Disney movies as a kid (can't say that's changed all that much) so it's a little hard to remember which of the movies I used to watch on repeat was my favorite. I guess either Atlantis or The Emperor's New Groove. I loved Princess Kida and Kuzco has always been a fave.

(my all time favorite movie as a child was Anastasia, though, still is, and, while Disney technically owns it now because it bought out 20th Century Fox, they can't really take credit for it, can they?)

What's your favorite Disney movie now?

Probably still the same ones. Atlantis even more now than when I was a kid, because I definitely understand it (and the jokes) a lot better as an adult. But if I had to pick one of the more recent movies, probably Frozen 2 or Encanto.

Where's your ideal home located?

I dream of a small home in the middle of nowhere, near a waterfall, with a lot of berries around. But that's highly unlikely, so.... I'll settle for somewhere with access to free healthcare so I can at least treat the ulcer I think I'll get out of all the work I'm putting in.

“Hey, Lions, I’m James Potter and today I’ll be trying to name as many Disney princesses as I can,” James said when the video cut to him. The tiara was slightly askew on his hair, but looked quite lovely with his glasses. “I’m probably going to fail. I know Jasmine and the mermaid girl. What’s her name?”

“Can’t tell you,” Marlene called off-screen.

“Damn. Well, there’s a mermaid in there somewhere. Oh, shit, which one is Lily’s favorite?” He bit his lip, then grinned. “Merida! I’ve got three, right?”

“Two.”

“Jasmine, Merida…Cinderella? With the slipper?” He glanced out of frame. “Yeah, Cinderella. And there was the one with the gnomes who fell asleep.”

Remus pinched the bridge of his nose as he thought. “I watch these all the time, how am I forgetting the names? Okay, we’ve got Belle, and Elsa, and Rapunzel, and then I am totally blanking on every other princess. This is awful. Does Nala count? From the Lion King? Oh! Maid Marian!”

“She’s not a princess,” Marlene laughed.

“She’s the king’s niece!”

“Part of living in the Dumais household is in-depth discussions with a five-year-old about the intricacies of Disney princess movies. Five is pathetic, now gimme.” Marlene handed him the tiara and he put in on with a smug smile.

“Sirius only got thirteen?” Dumo asked with a shake of his head. “That’s so cute. Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Tiana, Rapunzel, Elsa, Anna, Belle, Moana, Ariel, Jasmine, Mulan, Anastasia, Elena, and Giselle. I believe I was promised a tiara?”

“Cinderella,” Marlene supplied. “But that works.”

Cinderella?

Favorite thing about her?: I love everything about her but I think people overlook how sassy she is and her bite! All of her comments to Lucifer, and the singing bit about Anastasia and Drizella, are so enriching and add a great depth of character. But also, how realistic she is! This was totally erased in that live action, but in the animated version, she gets so FRUSTRATED at times. She even misplaces her anger at the clock and Lucifer in the very opening scenes. We see her fight back to Lady Tremaine and win in certain cases- like when she asserts her right to go to the ball- but we also see it backfire, like when Lady Tremaine gives her more and more chores to do. Just the overall depiction of abuse is so realistic and I think people dislike how close to home it is. Our modern sensibilities call for all female characters to be superheros- look at Rapunzel's hair, Elsa's magic, and Moana's connection with the ocean. No one wants to see the depiction of realistic abuse and how it can wear on someone, or what those family dynamics look like behind closed doors. They want Cinderella to beat up all three women in her household or start an Etsy business or something lol but for all that being said, I still marvel at her strength of character. The fact that she picked herself up and went to the ball after 1) years of abuse, 2) having to assert her right to go in front of three of her abusers, 3) being physically assaulted and having the very clothes violently torn off her body is so??? Like I get social anxiety from going to public places- I can hardly imagine how she must've felt with ALL of those circumstances AND the fact that she didn't even have a chaperon bring her to the ball and I just love Cinderella so much omg I'm not crying, you are

Least favorite thing about her?: This question implies there's something to dislike about Cinderella which is WRONG except if we're talking about the live action, which is literally awful. The live action got her character so wrong and the entire cast of that film went on a press tour bashing the original Cinderella while upholding their own as the feminist approved version and I literally can't even think about it without boiling in rage. Especially because the original Cinderella possesses more of the qualities they claim the 2015 version has and the original lacks. UGH if you ever want to talk about this HMU because I have THOUGHTS

Do I like her movie?: HER MOVIE IS SO GREAT. The music is so unique and I'm obsessed with all the vocal talent. Like, the fact that Lucille Bliss interpreted the words 'Mother, mother, mother' on a written script LIKE THAT is everything. I can't find a single unlikable character though, like everyone brings it from a vocal, characterization, and animation standpoint. Also, it's animated so realistically! Compare Cinderella's thicker waist to any of the Renaissance and post Renaissance princesses and you'll see what I mean. But also, it's just so fun and joyful and lighthearted while also not shying away from addressing and depicting abuse in such a realistic way. Lady Tremaine is actually my favorite villain of all time, to this day, because of how understated but effective she is. UGH I LOVE

Favorite outfit she wears? I ALWAYS loved the pink dress the mice made for her the most as a child! Pink was my favorite color and she had her hair down and lookeD STUNNING. Also the fact that it was a thrift from her mom's is so cute <3 That being said, she literally doesn't have a bad outfit. Her wedding dress is the best one Disney's ever come up with, I don't even need to explain the enchanting quality of her ball gown, the servant dress looks so comfortable and functional, and even the nightdress is flattering to her!

Favorite song from her movie?: The reprises she sings of So This Is Love is hauntingly beautiful. I can literally hear it echoing throughout that hidden staircase on the way to her little attic room.

Favorite animal (or human) friend she has?: I'm sorry but I LOVE Bruno and Major the horse way more than I should. I just love the idea that most people view Cinderella as this ultra glamorous princess and her sidekicks are literally mice, an old bloodhound dog, and a rail thin horse. But, the dog and horse remind me of when we see her with her father, and seeing their fall to grace too serves to give Cinderella a sense of companionship and community and history outside of the mice who she presumably meets later on.

Which trait of her personality do I most see in myself?: Probably her frustration at things that are beyond her control. I also think her FOMO moment of missing the ball and trying to talk herself out of wanting to go before concluding "and it'll be completely wonderful" is so cute. But I also try to get along with people I hate, for the sake of family and things like work, but also end up shading them like Cinderella lol but I think in order to be resilient and live a successful life, you kinda have to roll with the punches the way she did and always believe in the possibility of something wonderful happening and I hope I maintain that ideology as beautifully as does Cinderella

How would I rate her prince?: TOP TIER! Listen, that eye roll he did at the ball is EVERYTHING. Also I love the idea of a prince literally tearing a kingdom apart to find me after a single dance. Plus, with his father being as animated as he is, you KNOW that family is entertaining to marry into. Also, he's a TOTAL hunk (only counting the first movie)

Where does she rank on my top 10 favorite princesses?: TOP TIER AS WELL. Her, Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel are like on a whole other tier for me where they literally exist as my favorite characters of all time and they can't even be categorized as princesses because my love for them extends past any labels.

a/n: so I watched Sleeping Beauty again the other night because that is my favorite Disney princess movie don’t @ me okay anyways I love the Once Upon a Dream scene when they’re twirling by the water and then at the end when they’re dancing on clouds and I couldn’t stop thinking about how Zuko would probably be a good dancer too and this is what happened enjoy. Also sorry what, did you say you wanted an Anastasia “maybe we should stop spinning” moment, too? You got it.

The air was getting warmer. Which isn’t saying much living in the Fire Nation. But the air was getting heavier, the days getting longer, the sun shining brighter. The first day of summer was arriving and the palace was bustling with preparations for the annual Summer Solstice festivities.

While this time of year is usually exciting, you could do without the superficial and overly posh advisor meetings that came with it. Discussion about educational reforms and foreign policy, your personal passions and areas of expertise, were suddenly sent to the back burner and replaced with talk of exquisite feasts and which foreign dignitaries to invite. Financially responsible as ever, you tried your best to argue for more budget friendly decorations considering the nation was still recovering from 100 years of war, but your older and more traditional colleagues remained adamant that it was in the nation’s best interest to host a genuine, all-out festival.

You brought your complaints and concerns to the fire lord himself. Ah, the perks of being best friends with the fire lord. Of course, these complaints and concerns were usually filed off-the-record while enjoying what limited downtime the both of you had. After the final advisor meeting for festival preparations, you met Zuko in his room where a seamstress was finishing up his fitting for special Summer Solstice robes. Silently, you made yourself comfortable in an armchair and only quirked a mocking eyebrow in his direction.

“Not a word,” he said through gritted teeth.

“I’m not saying anything!” You threw your arms up in protest. The seamstress took out the last pin on Zuko’s sleeve and packed up her stuff before shuffling out of the room. “Although,” you continued. “If Advisor Ji were here, I’m sure he would say that ‘you look absolutely ravishing, Your Majesty. The very picture of a traditional Fire Lord.” You followed your impression with a gagging sound so that Zuko wouldn’t miss your resounding disgust for the uppity old man.

Zuko offered his arm to you which, standing up, you gladly took. “And what battle did you get into with him today?” he asked with a smile while leading you down the hallway.

“Ugh, we were confirming the seating plan for the feast tonight because Agni forbid we sit this old noble family next to that family, it just simply isn’t done.” Your free hand waved animatedly as you gave the recap of the past meeting. “But the worst part was, I had said weeks ago that we should consider opening up the feast to people from all walks of life in the Fire Nation, not just the nobility. Like the orphanage.”

You heard Zuko try to stifle a chuckle. “Oh come on! Just imagine those cute little innocent faces munching into all the food and running through the palace hallways and their faces lighting up with the fireworks! They would have so much fun, and isn’t that what the festival is all about?”

“Well, actually, it’s a tradition that was started—“

“Not you, too!” You turned sharply to look him in the eyes. “I am so sick of you old, rich people talking about traditions and manners—“

This time, Zuko couldn’t hold back his laughter. You watched with your mouth still slightly open after being interrupted as he tilted back his head to laugh. “I thought it was a great idea to invite the orphanage, which is why I personally invited them to the feast tonight.”

“You did?” you responded quietly but your lips turned into a bright smile.

“Yeah. I figured Aang could use the entertainment.”

The two of you continued to talk about the festival as well as the abhorrently outdated opinions of some of the advisors all the way to the turtleduck pond. The sun was getting lower on the horizon and once it was fully set, the feast would begin. Despite the setting sun, it was still a hot day, so you took your place sitting beneath the tree near the pond to get some shade. Zuko sat closer to the edge of the pond and took out some bread from where he had somehow stashed it in his robes. Leaning against the tree, you looked up at the sky and sighed.

“I love this time of day,” you said absentmindedly. The sky was illuminated by a soft golden glow and the clouds looked painted with a myriad of pastels. “Look at the clouds today, Zuko. They’re pink.” Zuko looked up for a moment and then glanced back at you to smile before feeding the small gaggle of turtleducks.

With the night’s festivities looming over your heads, the pond was the only place to get some peace and quiet for even just a moment. You’d need it anyways in order to gear up for the feast. The palace would soon be packed with Fire Nation nobles, the Avatar and his friends, and now the orphans and their caretakers, all waiting for the young Fire Lord to officially kick off the festival. Large crowds were never your favorite, which was why you had planned on retiring from the feast after dinner was served.

“But you have to stay for the dancing,” Zuko practically pouted when you told him this plan.

“No, no. I don’t dance. But I’ll tell you what,” you sat up from the tree you were leaning against. It was your favorite spot to get some shade as Zuko fed the turtleducks little pieces of bread. “I’ll stay long enough to watch you dance. That’s sure to be a sight to behold.”

Zuko scoffed. “I’ll have you know I am a pretty good dancer.” A turtleduck quacked. “See? He agrees.”

You laughed a little and reached for a piece of bread to offer to the little suck up. “What, did little Prince Zuko have to take royal dance lessons when he was little?”

“Yes actually!” Zuko rolled his eyes as if it was such an obvious answer. You half expected him to let the conversation go at this point and continue feeding the turtleducks. He could only handle your teasing for so long before starting to lose his temper. But he stood up abruptly and held out his hand. You placed bread in his open palm questioningly.

“Not the bread!” His voice revealed a hint of frustration. “Give me your hand. I’ll show you.”

You huffed and moved to cross your arms. You had just said you didn’t dance after all. Zuko’s pride certainly wouldn’t get you to dance. You were about to tell him that he was just fooling himself if he thought he could get you to dance when you felt his hand close on your elbow, pulling you up from your seated position.

“Zuko!” you whined.

“Would you just do this for me, please?” It was posed as a question but his apparent annoyance made it feel closer to a command. “And then you can leave early later if you still want to.”

He didn’t even wait for you to respond before he began straightening your shoulders and back. He took your left hand and held it out to the side and with a finger, tilted your chin up before resting that free hand on your waist. All other protests immediately seemed to die in your throat.

“Now, I lead. Think you can handle that?” He smirked and then began to step forward. After some hesitancy, you stepped backwards with him. You found yourself inching up on your tiptoes to better manage the height difference. But when he stepped again, and again, you felt forced to look down to see where you should be stepping next.

He stopped and adjusted your shoulders again. “Hey. Just look at me.” He gave your hand a squeeze and you looked up again. You couldn’t remember a time you’ve been this close to him. You could practically see each one of the thousands of golden flecks in his eyes. And you knew he was strong, being a master firebender and swordsman and all, but his grip on your waist felt so gentle and safe. He gave you a small smile before starting the dance again. This time, you moved a little better in time with him.

“See? It’s just little steps here and there. Ready to try a spin?”

Before you could say anything, you felt that gentle hand on your waist push you out a little bit while his other hand guided you under his arm. The sudden movement was not something you had expected and so your feet got tripped up a little. Zuko, however, caught your waist again and repositioned you upright before you could completely tumble over.

With a small laugh, he joked, “Okay, maybe we tried that too soon. We could just spin together instead.”

You started dancing again, taking small steps in slow circles around the pound. You were grateful that these steps felt much easier than the spin you had just been forced to attempt. The movement was repetitive and once you felt you’d gotten the hang of it, you went back to counting the flecks in Zuko’s eyes. You also made special note of the small wisps of his hair that had fallen out of his top knot, no doubt from the spinning.

“You okay?” Zuko checked in with you. Suddenly you realized you had not spoken since being pulled up to dance with him. You shook your head to free it from your thoughts in order to respond.

“Yeah,” you managed to breathe out. “I feel like I’m on clouds.”

“Pink clouds?” He smiled.

“Mhm.” The peace and calm you had felt when you looked up at the sky earlier settled in your chest. With a few more trips around the pond, you and Zuko held small conversations here and there. Your replies always seemed a bit hesitant though, mostly because you were concentrating on the steps. Without a doubt, however, you felt relaxed and at ease in his arms. You supposed that turtleduck really did know Zuko was a great dancer.

You lost count of how many spins the two of you did but you did become aware of the sky darkening as well as the spinning in your head.

“I’m feeling a little dizzy,” you said softly. Zuko shifted so that he didn’t lead you into another spin. Instead, you both settled into the small pattern of steps you had started out with before coming to a complete stop. Regardless, you still held his hand and he still held your waist.

“Probably from all the spinning. Maybe we should stop.” His gaze held yours for the entirety of your dance but only now did you notice the seriousness, an intensity, in his eyes. You urged yourself not to let your eyes wander anywhere past the tip of his nose.

“But we have stopped.”

“Y/n, I—“ You felt yourself begin to lean in with him.

“Fire Lord Zuko!” A man, coming around the corner onto the grounds of the turtleduck pond, interrupted. “Fire Lord Zuko,” he repeated again, this time followed by a bow. “The feast will be beginning shortly.”

Zuko did not turn to face the man but he dropped his hand from your waist. His hand still held you and his eyes remained fixed on your face. “Thank you,” he responded in his most regal voice. “I’ll be there soon.”

The man bowed again before exiting back around the corner. The spinning now gone from your head, you cleared your throat and stepped back from him. Zuko held your hand tighter in response.

“You’ll stay for a dance?” he asked hopefully.

“Okay.” You smiled.

B's birthday party! (Platonic drabble)

Summary: What better way to spend your birthday with the people you're closest to!

Warnings: Mentions of food but that's it I think

A/N: T is a random character I created that represents your moots/reader's! Just so I doesn't get confusing. I tried to write T as gender neutral, I'm very sorry if I slipped up at all. I wrote it in a more low-key chill birthday feeling. Some people love to go all out for birthdays but just spending it with the people closest to you can be just as amazing! I wrote this kind of quickly so I apologise for any grammer mistakes. Happy birthday B! Thank you for all the amazing stories you put out and all the amazing things that you do! "Did you send her the text?" Hobi asks eyeing the way Namjoon was holding the cake. It was balancing on a box and Namjoon was holding it as tenderly as he could. The cake might as well be a baby the way he was craddling it.

Who let him hold the cake?

"Yes, T said they are on their way now." V answers.

"Bren is going to be so surprised!" Jimin says bouncing in his spot from excitement.

"Hey stop doing that! Do you want a repeat of last year?" Yoongi asked. All the members cringed at the thought of Bren's last birthday.

That year the group wasn't able to plan that well due to touring schedules, and promotions. The cake they ordered got delivered to the wrong address and they had to get a green vanilla cake, they wanted to go to the movies, have a nice celebration at the park, and just give their close friend a fun day.

The cake fell on the floor, the movie that they went to see had a horrible ending, and the park was public so they had no privacy what so ever. Bren pretended to not be affected but it was obvious her birthday was ruined.

Well, that just won't do this year!

Months before this day Bren and T were at the sink doing dishes after they all had dinner together. Bren, softly humming and washing while T was drying them. The night was still young, it created a dim lighting in the kitchen.

"So...just out of curiosity...what are you thinking of doing for your birthday?" T asked after picking up another plate to dry.

"My birthday?" Bren asked. "That's not for another six months."

"Yeah but ya know...just wondering."

"Ummm...well, I'm probably just going to do something small. Maybe stay home, have a nice dinner?"

"That's it?"

"Yeah, just something low-key..."

T nodded their head nonchalantly. Their mind was racing though thinking of ways to make Bren's next birthday fun but chill.

Then they got to work. Hopefully today, it would all pay off.

"Just put the cake up until we finish dinner " Jin orders the younger members. Namjoon obeys and puts the cake in the kitchen. Making sure all of the food was set and ready in the dining room.

T lead Bren into the apartment building both of them all dolled up. Bren looked beautiful. Her hair curled, a very beautiful party dress and heels to match. T held her hand going through the hallways and onto the elevator hearing an occasional "ow" come from Bren.

"Sorry, so sorry!" They would respond.

They got up to the apartment and just before entering T took off Bren's blindfold. Not leaving any time for questions T rings the doorbell as a signal and opens the door.

It was dark upon entering but soon the lights turned on and the sound of air horns went off.

"Happy birthday!" The seven members jumped out of the doors and suprised their best friend Bren. She jumped slightly not expecting that. Each member had on a little party hat and a wide grin.

"Aw!" She shouts happily. The members gather around her crushing her in a warm hug.

Yoongi grabbed her hand and led her to the dining room. With everyone else following behind.

"We made you a nice dinner!" Hobi says not being able to keep his excitement down.

Bren walked into the dining room she had been in what felt like hundreds of times. Only this time it was covered with so many decorations she almost didn't recognize it. Banners with her favorite colors all over the walls, balloons and pictures took up the space that the banners couldn't reach.

"Come sit!" Jin says pulling out her chair for her.

Bren takes the opportunity to look at the table. Her favorite cuisines cover the table. She wasn't expecting this when he said a nice dinner. It was sides, main dishes, and her choice of drink. It looked like a piece of art.

"Wow!" She exclaimed sitting down excitedly. The savory smells filled her nostrils making her feel ready to grab at everything. It seems everyone else was ready to eat too, judging by the way they were practically watering at the mouth.

"How long did it take you guys to make all this?" She wonders aloud.

"Ah don't mind that." Jin says, since he was mainly in charge and it was his idea to make your favorite cuisine. "What matters is it will be delicious!"

"Let's eat!" Namjoon says loudly.

And with that everyone dug in. The eight of them at the table ate and talked for hours. They laughed and teased each other, becoming somewhat closer, if that was even possible. As they celebrated their friends birthday under the warm lights in the dining room, they looked and felt like a family.

Hours after dinner was done and the dining room had been cleaned, they started to bring out the cake. Namjoon lit the cake and T held it, bringing it into the dining room.

Bren's smile seemed to be never ending this night. A yellow spice cake was placed in front of her with little flowers and icing on top that said, "Happy birthday Bren" on it. It was a really lovely looking cake.

They all sang happy birthday to Bren and had her make a wish before she blew out the candles.

As they were all eating their cake the maknaes suspiciously stood up and left to get something. They came back standing shoulder to shoulder with their hands behind their back.

"We have something to give you." Jimin sang holding out his hand for B to take. He helped her to stand and then pulled a box out from behind his back.

"Um, B this is from us." V said becoming a little shy. T stood up quietly and grabbed the camera.

B looked down and looked at the small dark blue box. It had a lot of fancy letters on it that made it hard to read the brand. When she opened the box there were two dazzling earrings that shined at her. Not only the earring but the ring right in between then. Bren picked up the ring first with a bright smile.

"It's a matching one!" Jungkook exclaims. Looking towards the youngest members they all showed off the silver ring on their finger. They gifted her a friendship ring as the honorary member of the maknae line.

"Oh my gosh, that's so cool!" Bren exclaimed. She put the box down on the table and gave them each a hug. "Thank you I love them both!"

She stepped away and excitedly put the earrings in her ears. "How do they look?"

"Great!"

"Amazing!"

"Incredible!"

"Beautiful!"

Bren smiled and rolled her eyes at the members constantly trying to one up each other.

"Alright now our present!" Jhope says clapping his hands excitedly. Yoongi left the room and came back with a much larger box. The wrapping was a very pretty green with sparkles on it. He placed the box in front of B with a cute little smile.

"Okay open it!" Namjoon says.

Bren tears open the wrapping and sees a shoe box. Her curiosity peaks even more. When she opens the shoe box, she gasps. It was costum made chunky heels. Exactly her size and a type of pattern she has never seen before. A pair that was like her dream pair of shoes.

"Wow!" She shouts. Bren picked up one of the shoes and started to examine it. "These are amazing!" She grins.

Bren puts it gently back in the box before giving the older members a hug. "I love them, thank you guys!"

"Thank you all for the gifts!" She says putting everything back in their box. The members smiled proudly, they were happy B enjoyed their gifts. It brought them happiness knowing their best friend enjoy the gifts they spent a lot of time thinking of. T snapped the perfect picture of that moment.

After presents they realized how late it was getting. The stars were already starting to show. It was decided that B would stay in the guest bedroom that night.

"You can go change, there is another present in there from me!" T said rushing Bren into that bedroom before going back into the living room. The members had all changed as well into comfy clothes and we're deciding on a movie to watch.

"Put on Anastasia!" T says stopping the debate going on between them. "It's on of B's favorites."

"Oh that's right!" V said as Jungkook switched to play it.

"Alright, T you're on dish duty!" Namjoon said coming out of the kitchen with Jimin after they had finished cleaning the kitchen.

T stayed silent but pulled a face. T hated doing dishes but they knew they had to pull their weight.

"I can do it." B says coming back into the room after getting changed in her new pajamas, gifted by T. The sleepwear was extremely cute and insanely soft. B felt like she was covered in a cloud.

"Well we wouldn't make someone wash dishes on their birthday!" Jungkook says.

"It's fine I don't mind!" Bren smiles. T mouthed 'thank you' and blew a playful kiss to Bren.

"Hey don't steal my move!" Jin whines. Bren chuckled softly and made her way to the kitchen.

"I'll help!" Jhope says jumping up from his spot to lend a hand to the dish washing.

The dishes were done quicker than expected and soon everyone was comfortable in front of the TV. On the chairs were Yoongi and Jin, Namjoon and J-Hope sat on the loveseat, Jungkook, V, and T were cozy on the floor, and B was with Jimin on the couch. As the movie plays everyone sang along or in B's case, recited the lines by heart.

The night ended with a sense of comfort in the air. They were all right where they wanted to be. Watching Anastaia as the hours rolled by, each eye lid slowly closed and they fell asleep. Jin was coming back from the kitchen after getting a drink of water when he saw B's head droop. He smiled softly picking up her head gently and laying in back on the pillow. A silver flash caught his attention and he noticed she was still wearing her new ring.

Jin picked up a blanket and placed it over her making sure she wouldn't get cold. He hoped the day was a great as she wanted it to be. Every sleeping eye in that room loved and cared for her and they wanted to make sure her birthday was a special as her.

As she was losing consiousness she felt a kiss on her head and heard a faint, "Happy birthday Bren."

What are your favorite tropes to write about?

I really enjoy fake dating, and soulmate AUs. And obviously kid fics.

What is a fic of yours everyone should read?

We Don’t Need To Say It ! It’s my Memori actor AU, but I think it has something for everyone. A little bit of side Bellarke (including their wedding); Raven being a great friend to both Murphy and Emori; Echo being a great friend to Emori; even snarky Josephine. Also a fake sci-fi television show that I created to be like something that would air on the CW.

What is a fic you wish would receive a little more love?

Somewhere We Belong which is my Memori Anastasia AU! I posted it fairly recently, but I had an absolute blast writing it, since Anastasia is one of my favorite movies from childhood.

What’s the best comment or review of your work that you’ve received?

I got this comment on a particularly angsty chapter of We Don’t Need To Say It and it actually made me cry it was so nice:

This was the most heartbreaking chapter of FanFiction I’ve read in over 20 years of fic reading. I’ve had to read the chapter three times before I could formulate an articulate response. That bit where you wrote that her heart broke, I could feel mine breaking as well. Again, literal physical reaction while reading this. I felt every heartbreak I myself have been through, that’s how real it was. I knew something wasn’t going to go right at this party, but I never imagined it being that. I’m still just floored. I haven’t even been able to really move forward in the story because I’m not quite done processing this chapter. Excellent excellent job.

What are your favorite lines that you’ve written?

I will highlight some fics that are not exclusively Memori now since I write a bunch of things lol.

Murphy talking to Clarke in my Definitely, Maybe AU fic, Piece Me Back Together:

Okay first off, if anything I’m holding you back. I can’t believe that someone who’s training to be a doctor is even giving me the time of day. I basically went to college to debate which characters in classic literature are secretly gay.

From my Murven childhood friends fic, you’re the last best thing i’ve got going:

Of course, there are moments where Murphy aches for them to be able to get back to when they were slightly more than friends. They had been on the brink of something that Murphy could almost taste, something he thinks could have been great if they had given it a chance. He’s much more of a romantic than Raven is. He’s considered bringing it up a few times, wanting to at least talk about it, since they never got the chance to when everything happened with Raven’s mom. But just as the words have been on the tip of his tongue he chickens out, thinking better of messing with the good place they’ve gotten to. Through all of this Murphy has realized that his friendship with Raven is something he doesn’t want to lose, and so he’s content to just be friends.

From my Bellarke soulmate AU, A Twist of Fate:

Clarke piqued his interest last night after she mentioned that fate brought them together. Normally Bellamy thinks fate can go fuck off, but he wasn’t lying when he told her he believed in it last night, as much as it probably sounded like a corny line. It was wild that they kept running into each other at every bar they went to. How else could he describe that? He should have listened to his first instinct and gotten her number anyway, even though that wasn’t what people normally did. Then he wouldn’t be sitting here and wallowing over a girl he’s never going to see again.
