A lot of y’all seemed to have REALLY enjoyed my ‘Enid is a lesbian because she says howdy’ shitpost so here’s another round of me performing Olympic god medal level mental gymnastics in order to explain how Wenclair works:
Tumblr media
Okay so, as taught by my Bumbleby roots, names can have SIGNIFICANT have power. So to see if that applied here, I looked up the meanings of Wenclair’s names.
Enid: life, spirit
Sinclair: saintly, pure
Wednesday: Originates from the Norse god Woden (Woden’s Day) who was associated with death
Addams: The creator, Charles Addams, clearly inserted his own surname here, but it’s interesting to note that Addams means earth
Wenclair really are polar opposites aren’t they? Sun and Moon Girlfriends™️ not just aesthetically, but even down to their names (giggles in BB giggles in BB giggles in BB-). It’s almost like they were meant to parallel and compliment the other from the moment they were born.
The Sun- warm, pure, full of spirit and energy and a giver of Life.
The Moon- dark, shadowy, a blanket of cover for Death as she calmly overlooks her star-studded realm.
Did y’all know that Life and Death can not exist without the other? They are perfect equal-yet-opposites foils of one other that are in this grand cycle of balance. One is not inherently better than the other, mind you. Furthermore, I love the idea of inverting these tropes. The Sun may be associated with Life, but do not underestimate her- she can just as easily take this life away. Scorching wildfires, droughts, a rage like a sleeping wolf now awakened by her lover’s call. The Moon may be associated with Death, but she is also a symbol for change. The ever-shifting tides she controls, the phases she cycles through, the way Wednesday helps Enid change for the better. Sun & Moon, Life & Death, two halves of a rather lovely whole.
That being said, there’s also something sweet to be said about Addams meaning earth. The Earth is often associated with feelings of welcoming because, well, above all else, Earth means home (see the goddess Gaia for example). Like, yes, being celestial beings on a grand scale of equality and eternal devotion is amazing, but there’s also a charm to Addams meaning earth, of Addams meaning home. Enid is not accepted by her own family, but that’s alright, because she’s made a home in the loving arms of another. I like to imagine that on that on the flipside, there’s the symbolism of ‘earth’ not in the sense of the whole world, but earth like the soil beneath our feet. Wednesday seeing ‘earth’ as the ground we trodden upon and going, “Would you really want to settle for some dirt like I?”. Enid, with no hesitation, replying, “I like this dirt, it’s great for growing beautiful flowers. I wouldn’t want any other home but you, Willa.” Enid Addams does have quite the ring to it, wouldn’t you agree?

*coughs* Royal Harem AU *coughs* explain yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello friends... 👀 (tagging @unabashedlycasualangel since i had to screenshot your ask bb)
It's probably not as salacious (maybe?) as it sounds, but i didn't know what else to name it at the time lmaooo. Let's just say it's sort of a Captive Prince AU in a way, except that Charles is a pleasure servant, trained from birth for royalty, but Monaco loses a war to Spain and Charles is sent there as a war reparation, becoming a member of the royal harem for the Prince of Spain (aka Carlos).
Only problem is that Carlos doesn't seem to want Charles that way (denial much?). I'm treating you to a 2k snippet bc there's 16k words written so...maybe this will push me to post some of it soon.
“I present to my son a new servant for his retinue,” the king says. “This one is rumored to be the loveliest thing to come from Monte Carlo in a generation - their finest jewel. He was being trained and prepared especially for the sovereign of our enemy, so it’s only fitting that one fit for a king should belong to our future king, my son. May he prove as lovely as they say.”
The king then sits, and Charles awaits instruction. It isn’t long though, before a warm, but assertive voice tells him, “Ven,” and Charles knows this to mean, ‘Come.’
He rises immediately, but keeps his head bowed, moving swiftly but gracefully to the prince’s side. He wants to show off his obedience and haste, but not appear anxious or overzealous. He kneels at the prince’s feet, close enough to be touched if that’s what the prince desires, but not so close that he is encroaching on his space if unwanted.
The only thing he can see of the prince are his feet clad in sandals, along with his ankles and shins. Charles’ first thought is that his legs are quite hairy, tanner in color than his own, but he quickly admonishes himself for getting distracted.
“What are you called?” the prince asks, a question easy enough for Charles to translate. His voice is nice - deep but with a curious cadence that Charles believes he could recognize blind, despite this being the first time he’s hearing it.
“I am called Charles, if it pleases my lord,” he manages - two phrases Isa had been sure to teach him.
No matter the practice though, or his proficiency with languages, he still stutters a bit through the sentence. His chest seizes in embarrassment, but he doesn’t dare show it, pressing his lips together and breathing in slowly.
He’s startled by a gentle touch at his chin, tilting his face up. The prince’s fingers are warm through the gauzy fabric. Charles’ breath hitches, his eyes staying down so that he doesn’t gaze upon the prince’s face without permission. It’s indescribable, feeling his master’s touch for the first time, even with a barrier between them. It burns Charles’ skin, despite how soft the hold is, making his body pulse with an unfamiliar energy.
His vision is indistinct and fuzzy through the veil, but he focuses on the prince’s collarbone, peeking out from around his tunic’s neckline. There’s a hint of hair on his chest too, dark and curly, disappearing beneath the fabric.
Charles can’t believe how intensely he’s already blushing, his face filled with heat and his heart pounding against his chest. But the prince’s presence is intoxicating, his attention like nothing else that’s been directed at Charles his whole life. He smells good, Charles realizes - like olive oil and jasmine.
“Charles,” the prince repeats, a smile in his voice.
Charles is overwhelmed suddenly by the desire to kiss his hands, his feet, rest his cheek against the prince’s thigh, run his fingers through the hair of his calves. But he restrains himself, swallowing around his own surprise.
“You are temblando,” the prince says, a word Charles doesn’t recognize. “Are you asustado?” Again, he doesn’t know.
Shame begins to creep in at his ignorance, but he just as quickly forgets the feeling when the prince brushes the barest touch along his cheek.
“Effrayé?” he repeats quietly in French, and Charles’ eyes dart up in surprise, before dipping back down contritely.
‘Afraid?’ he is being asked. ‘Are you afraid?’
“No, my lord,” he reassures, emphatically. “Not afraid.”
He senses the prince’s nod, and there’s a drawn out pause before he speaks again, this time in Spanish. It’s almost a relief, after the way he’d reacted to hearing his native French in the prince’s voice.
“Welcome to our kingdom, Charles.”
It’s the first time anyone has said such words to him since his arrival. And it’s the first time that Charles has felt as though, perhaps, he is welcome here.
He’s intrigued by the prince, drawn in by the mischief in his tone and the mystery of his ostensible kindness. He finds himself wondering if somehow, Isa has undersold His Highness, despite having nothing but favorable things to say about him. Surely, she could have warned Charles that he would feel this affected - this overcome.
The prince straightens once again on his throne, his touch abandoning Charles’ cheek and leaving coldness in its wake. Charles suppresses a whine, shocked at his near indecorum. But the withdrawal is only because the food is arriving, plates piled with meats and fish and fruits and fresh bread.
Charles’ mouth waters a bit, but he sadly won’t be able to eat anything, even if it’s offered to him, not with the veil covering his face. Even to risk it - risk another noble seeing him before the prince has first laid eyes on him - makes him shiver. So he swallows and redirects his gaze to the prince’s feet.
However, it isn’t long before the prince surprises him again by asking him another question, as he picks over his plate of food.
“How old are you, Charles?”
The sound of his name in the prince’s voice once again makes his blush immediately return, and he wonders at how he manages a reply around the beating of his heart in his throat.
“I am twenty years this season, my lord.”
“Twenty?” the prince repeats, surprise evident in his tone.
“Y-yes,” Charles says, willing the stutter out of his voice. “I was to be presented much earlier, but the war was long...” His vocabulary starts to fail him, but the prince spares him.
“Ah, yes, well... You know some Spanish?” There’s approval in his voice, which is how Charles knows he’s impressed him. He flushes further.
“A little. I am learning.”
“You are learning fast,” the prince insists, and the praise makes warmth blossom in his stomach.
“Thank you, my lord.”
There’s the briefest of pauses, something like a laugh, but gentler, escaping the prince’s lips, before he’s saying, “Come,” and taking a hold of Charles’ wrist. Charles doesn’t flinch this time, opening himself up to the prince’s touches more quickly than he imagined he would. But this is what he’s trained all his life for - to, eventually, touch and be touched.
The prince guides his hand to the plate, and Charles’ initial (respectful) protest dies on his lips when he dares a glance at the prince’s face as he sits back in his throne, his mouth parting in patient expectation. It’s the first extended look at his face that Charles is taking, and despite his impaired vision through his veil, it is evident what the prince is wanting.
Charles swiftly changes his tune, exploring the plate’s contents with deft, careful fingers, only choosing the most complementary flavors to pair together. He could easily choose one item on the plate to feed the prince, but he wants to make an impression, which means putting all his training to good use. He takes his thoughtfully curated bite and shuffles closer to the prince, deftly guiding the food to his mouth without letting his fingers touch his royal lips.
The prince’s mouth closes around the bite, chewing as Charles retreats a bit, watching and waiting for his reaction. The prince hums deep in his chest, his gaze heavy on Charles as his lips turn up into a smile. Relief fills Charles’ stomach, and he preens under the prince’s appreciative gaze.
“Delicious,” he says, in surprised delight, and Charles knows that word well enough in Italian. He smiles to himself, his head dipping in reply. “Another?” Charles finds himself charmed at the request in the prince’s voice, as though he would ever refuse.
He prepares another bite, his eagerness to please only growing with each of the prince’s satisfied hums as the feast continues on and he remains content to let Charles feed him. Only once the food is gone does Charles sit back on his heels, his gaze drifting to Isa, who has been sat against the wall nearby, available if called upon. She’s beaming at Charles, pride and happiness for him evident in her expression.
He feels lighter than air, a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders at having performed well so far. He only hopes the night continues this way.
He’s been so caught up in his task of feeding the prince that he’s largely ignored the speeches and demonstrations that have been unfolding throughout the feast. But he watches now as many of the women servants gather in the middle of the great hall, Isa included, and begin to perform a dance.
It’s unlike any sort of dance that Charles has seen before, not that he’s seen many. It starts out slow and sensual, the movements of the women enough to set him off blushing again. But almost imperceptibly, the music begins to quicken, the dancers’ movements increasing in pace and intensity, and the onlookers begin to clap in time with the rhythm.
Charles watches, transfixed, as the women spin around one another, somehow maintaining their balance and not one of them seeming out of step with the rest. He feels a bit ashamed that he isn’t participating himself, performing for the entertainment of the prince. That feeling increases tenfold when he sneaks a glance at him, and sees the prince enraptured by the performance, his eyes seeming to follow one figure in particular.
Charles looks again at the dancers, noting Isa’s gaze which periodically settles in this direction, her eyes heady and...well, captivating is the only way to describe it. Charles feels a strange mixture of shame, envy, and disappointment battling for dominance in his gut, all of his previous confidence seemingly dashed in one fell swoop. He again looks at the prince, whose attention is yet to wander - he doesn’t even appear to be blinking as he absorbs Isa’s dance.
Charles wills himself not to despair yet - of course the prince would enjoy watching her. She’s his favorite servant, an honor that she’s earned over the last several years serving His Highness. Charles can’t expect to swoop in and steal her coveted status in one single night, not least of all when the prince has yet to properly see Charles.
Maybe the prince will unveil him tonight and despite all odds, every warning muttered behind his back and to his face that the prince does not prefer boys as bedfellows, he will find himself pleased by Charles, desiring him, impressed by his devoted service throughout the feast and eager to discover whether Charles will impress him in other areas.
But even as Charles is attempting to raise his spirits, his own internal arguments fall flat, and it becomes increasingly more likely to him that the prince would have no reason or motivation to give Charles a chance when a woman like Isabel exists. And Charles can hardly blame him - she’s been exceedingly lovely in every way, and he’s beginning to doubt she contains a single flaw.
He’s worked himself into quite a miserable state by the time the dance comes to an end. But Charles was born to please, seeking that validation like a flower seeks the sun. So he continues to serve the prince diligently until the end of the banquet, a small part of him hoping beyond hope that he has a chance to turn the prince’s head.

I am very happy you were rather entertained and liked my msg. I thought it was going to be cringeworthy or bothersome to you, it's only when you respond that I feel like I wasn't going to make a complete fool out of myself. You make it meaningful and worthwhile. I wish I had my ancestry's linguistic talent, ancient Arab poets, and Charles Baudelaire's imaginary and mastery of words, I would have coated you with my praises and appreciation. I wish words would come out of me as smooth and as silky as waterfalls, I have a hard time expressing myself or articulating my feelings as poetically as I would like, as you deserve it. You have a quality I cherish intimately and profoundly, a quality I have been desperately looking for my entire life, and have yet to have found it in anyone closer to me. It's a bummer the only exception is a stranger that lives a gazillion miles away from me. Like I said your real partner must be one hell of a lucky bastard, make sure to remind them you have an admirer so they better behave well with my beautiful lotus otherwise Wanda is going to haunt their dreams. Anyways I know for sure I have no chance with you with my awkwardness, bluntness, introverted nature, and huge over-attachment issues. Actually, you are the first girl I have ever wanted her this way.
GAHDAMN GIRL WASN'T HOLDING BACK- I love it ❤
I find it flattering honestly! As I said I am a thirsty ass bitch, so this is giving me butterflies. BUTT again, I think you'll do just finee. Your future partner is going to be damn lucky to have youuu.
Seriously, if I had been single I would FOLD. But me love ma bb so give this energy to a a girl who will express herself the same way you do <33

V-card anon: hi sorry about that first ask i kinda went into a fugue state (spelling?) altered state of reality maybe when i wrote that and damn near outlined a fic in your inbox
The way we played hot seat was either part of a larger drinking game when a certain card was pulled from a deck, or just on it's own. You sit in a circle, everyone has a drink, usually a beer or cider. In the card pull version, the one who pulls the card gets asked a question by every person playing and if they refuse to answer they drink from their drink. In the standalone, you do that but everyone gets a turn being asked until people get bored and leave. Fun way to find out shit about people. Usually the unwritten rule is that you can't lie. I imagine everyone sitting on shitty chouches and chairs in a semi circle around a table full of cups and bottles playing it
Questions i have been asked: are you a top or bottom? Do you like anal? Wheres the weirdest place you've fucked? Body count? Favorite position (sexual)? Fuck marry kill/ignore people in this room (EVERY TIME I PLAYED I GOT THIS QUESTION)? Tits or ass or other? Favorite non sexual body part ex. Thigh? Ideal fuck buddy? Sex regrets? Etc
Also more weird details i have head cannoned out for some drivers and most likely does not fit with irl personalities, do with this what you will, use it or don't i just have feelings. Also everyone is like compressed in age to like 20-27ish except for some of the grid who i will just think of as younger alumns who come back:
Danny R: social chair, owns a jeep he takes the doors off of in the summer, walks girls home at night to make sure they're ok, tries to DJ house events and is rebuffed by literally everyone, has like 30 pairs of vans you trip over in his room, stolen roadsigns everywhere, masters in something arigcultural or physiological, cutoff frat shirts for days, fuckboy but nice, a bit cringe, will drive around with you at night so you can scream, met reader bc she had a band tee on and wanted to talk to her about it (no gatekeeping)
Charles: some kind of engineering or math degree but no one has any idea how the fuck he's gotten so far, 4.0 never studies, games with other house members, will show up at events randomly you will have no idea how he gets on your couch but he is there, the best and worst taste in clothes, is the only one allowed to play the piano in the house, sweet, cannot help you with studies but is always down for helping you out after, has to be reminded to clean stuff, disaster bi, reader met his gf first and they probably met through that
Pierre: good fashion and music taste, shirt is gone halfway through the night, also fuckboy but wholesome, actually studies, plays a sport for sure probably soccer in some way either club or Division he's too good for rec, will hold your hair back so you can throw up, will tell you your outfit sucks, good at math, also part of the squad that games, econ major, workout buddies with reader anday have taken a math class together
Max: is part of the hockey team he will go pro, also actually studies, got into gaming because of Charles, has the nicest car, is serious until he gets a couple drinks in him, he and Daniel are close and roomed together at some point, owns like 30 sets of the same outfit a white tee and jeans, knows reader through Dan and they get dragged by him to some of the same stuff
Lando: is a pledge or new member his big is Carlos, undeclared major, just happy to be here, gaming squad, used to play lacrosse or something equally obscure, king of knowing where the good snacks are, weirdly good at beer pong, growing into a fuckboy wholesomeness level tbd, probably sweet with reader as she helped him through a blackout or something, met her because she's basically house mom for some of the new boys (the kind of mom who will teach you to do laundry or iron ONCE)
Carlos: hockey flow but does not play hockey, actually studies and is smarter than what people give him credit for, came from a private high school and uni really opened his horizons, also good study buddy, gets along with most people, goes to office hours the most out of the actually studies gang, fun at parties, owns the frat dogs, he and reader met at Office hours (they were the only students) and found they had mutual friends too
Lewis: is/was president of frat, great grades greater bod, did full evolution from fuckboy to good man, has the back tests and the moral support, up for late noght talks about life, definitely was a D1 athlete, best fashion game, implemented no hazing policy, fits into notable alum or PhD category
Mick: undergrad like Lando, also plays soccer or something, too sweet, also walks girls home/holds your hair back etc, cleans parts of the house that aren't his responsibility, higher alcohol tolerance than you expect, everyone is bizarrely protective of him, legacy member (his dad was a legend), drives a motorbike around campus and can't decide between law and psychology, actually studies, met reader through the frat and she would die for him, brings her to class on the bike sometimes because the bike is faster
George: business major, frat treasurer, three ring binder business casual in class kind of guy, nice enough, shirt comes off when drunk, runs marathons and a podcast about investments, best notes in the game and great study partner, actually studies, is drinking monster at 6AM but not because he stayed up late, he and reader met through the frat and sometimes drink wine and bitch together
Lance: hockey player, legacy member, studies sometimes, sarcasm on point, great at stack cup, very chill, knows every good nap spot on campus, also has high alcohol tolerance, is the kind of person who does well in the cold but does not like it, wears headphones so people don't talk to him, great one on one but not in crowds, business major and minor in computer science, probably also met thru Lance's gf but vibe as more introverted people and will cover for each other if one does not want to go out
Nicky: a good boy, part of the walks people home squad, sets up designated drivers for parties, good snack game, future in medical field, good listener, pretty good study buddy, midnight snack enabler, met reader through frat and his gf he and reader are on babysitting duty together sometimes when others get too drunk/high
Yuki: also a pledge or new, majoring in games or computer science as they gave me the same energy as him, games squad, bit of a mad lad, has several stolen street signs, good, met reader through frat and Yuki is the only one patient enough to explain some games to reader, they cuss people out on mic
Esteban: good man, has a full ride scholarship, actually studies, also good study buddy, Dan's little, plays soccer but maybe on a rec team because he prioritizes school, very sweet guy as well, probably chose a really practical major/dual major, met reader through Dan and are also dragged similar places by him
Antonio: manbun, philosophy or classics major possibly business dual, generally good natured but can be seen supplying his own wine at parties, used to be really into metal but kept the hair, does not know that people find him attractive, soccer boi, met reader through frat and she's the only one who will (pretend) to listen to him rant about philosophy
Alex Albon: another full scholarship guy, somehow gets along with everyone, switched majors due to an asshole professor, electrical engineering or computer engineering, actually studies, helps with frat pets, will show you pictures of his cats at home, sweetie, another contender for will hold your hair or walk you home, probably met reader through a class or club and found they had mutual friends and that reader is friends with his gf
Notable alums:
Checo - dad, successful in finance somehow (he looks like an really successful accountant of CFO to me idk why)
Kimi - dad but people forget he is, holds the record for most drinks in 24 hours that will never be come close to by anyone else, shows up on random alum weekends with 2 kegs, legally cannot tell you what he does or he would actually have to murder you
Valterri - was good at a sport when he was there, now a very effective lead engineer at an architectural firm
Seb - environmental or mechanical engineering, all around good guy with someone the best grades in frat history
Alonso - legendary for sexual exploits (consensual)
Anyone I put as actually studies is probably the type reader would hang around for more serious stuff/schoolwork and would probably be closer to, with the exception of Dan bc I feel like he'd be like we're friends now :)) we shall hang or Charles bc he will just show up. I also imagine she has a pretty good friendship with any existing gf, however if a driver does have a gf and he is the love interest sorry bb girl u gotta go for the purposes of this fic
Sorry this is so long hahaaaaaaa glad you liked my Charles thoughts ilu
i honestly wasn’t going to share this like the rest of the anon asks i’ve gotten that i keep close to my heart but this was just too good to keep to myself.
LOOK! AT! THIS!

ahh thank you bb! "tenderest omegaverse east of the mississippi" is a WIP that i'm co-writing (WIP amnesty pls) with @thermocrying, so i let them pick the snippet! a big part of us talking about it was what various omega heat behavior & rituals would be like so we paid extra attention to nest building!
valtteri/charles a/b/o below the cut
Val softly rubs his bearded cheek against Charles' neck and asks, "Do you want to show me your pretty nest, then?"
And that—! hits Charles exactly right. Because he spends a lot of time making his nests. And he's picky, proud of the end result. And he deeply wants Val to love each nest he ever makes.
Charles is practically shivering by the time Val lies him down in the nest, stripping off Charles’ shirt before pausing to get his own over his head, letting Charles nestle into the pile of blankets as his thighs fall open.
[...]
Val leans in to nuzzle Charles delicately, slotting his body between Charles' splayed thighs easily and hovering over him. "It's beautiful," he says, low and honest, because it really is. Charles has an eye for this, artistic in a certain way; particular and intentional. He doesn't miss the soft whine the compliment gets him. "One of your best." He kisses the hollow of Charles' throat. "Especially the twist you made of the red and white blankets." He knows the nest itself is a big deal—for all omegas, really, and Charles is no exception. When you compliment the nest, you compliment the taste and the skill of the person who made it. Charles may want to act like he's above that, sometimes, that he doesn't crave that validation. But he doesn't ever see himself when Val does it. Doesn't see his own blush and his own body language, how he curls inward like he's bashful, or trying to protect something vital.
"Stop it," Charles says weakly, knocking a knee into Val's side. "You don't have to say that."
Val shifts to kiss him on the mouth, chaste, before looking him in the eye. "Yes, I do. You don't just ignore good art." And, harder for Val to articulate gracefully: it's an honor to have a nest made here. It means Charles trusts Val beyond any doubt. That he feels like this place can be a sanctuary. It's symbolic of so much that it almost makes Val's teeth hurt, but he can't find a way to say that without sounding like a cheesy Hallmark card, so he puts it in his pocket for another time.
Charles doesn’t have much more energy for talking, after that, pulling Val down so that their chests are flush to one another. He licks against Val’s teeth hungrily, the point of Val’s incisors, just sharp enough to raise suspicion. He’s already wet, soaked through the seat of his boxers, getting harder the more that Val touches him.

“Black Squadron” Part 1
Set before The Force Awakens, General Leia Organa assigns Poe the task of finding someone who could be a link to her missing brother, Luke Skywalker. Poe has the opportunity to assemble his own squadron and set off in search of the elusive explorer.  But after encountering a strange group of fanatics, Poe and his new squadron may be cornered by the First Order!
Everything is set up in this issue, making for a solid debut even if it’s mostly exposition.  We’re introduced to the characters that make up Black Squadron (some of which are from the sequel trilogy), and given the mission background.  We also get a stunt flying sequence and the encounter with the community of the Creche.  Pretty straight-forward stuff with not a lot of pizzazz.  Noto does as good a job with the X-Wing sequence, but it just doesn’t come across as exciting as it might have on screen.  I really love his artwork, but this sequence didn’t have the energy it needed to get your blood pumping.
There’s no real sense of the new characters in the issue, so I’m hoping we get to see more of them and their individual personalities down the road.  They look like an interesting bunch, so I’m curious about how they’re going to develop.
There’s also a cute little backup story featuring BB-8 playing cupid between a couple of Resistance members.  It was enjoyable enough, but might have fit better in the Star Wars Adventures comic.
Overall, a decent first issue that interested me enough to make me want to keep reading.  Hoping for the excitement to build.

A More Accurate Translation for Happy
I don’t know Chinese, and thus this is my uneducated opinion, but I can work Wiktionary and a thesaurus, so I thought I’d take a crack at coming up with a better translation for Happy. (I did this because of what I’m working on for @qzgsbigbang, wherein rather than having an internet cafe, Chen Guo has a ship... and Happy would be a weird name for a ship.)
Happy’s Chinese characters are 兴欣. If you break that down, you’ll find that 兴 has general meanings like “rise,” “prosper,” “thrive,” “flourish,” and so on, while 欣 means “happy,” “joyous,” “delighted,” et alia.
Now, obviously, “Happy” only encapsulates half of that meaning. I know that “Joyful Flourish” was suggested as an alternative (I believe by BB himself?) but that also has its problems.
“Flourish,” as an intransitive verb, doesn’t need a direct object to act upon, but is often conjugated. It would probably be rendered “Joyful Flourishing” to encapsulate the meaning of the characters. “Flourish” by itself (to my eye, anyway) suggests the noun rather than the verb, which usually means some sort of gesture, which is clearly not the intended meaning.
It’s also a bit purple, as names go. It doesn’t feel particularly modern and seems out of place, like a construction you might see in a novel by Charles Dickens or something.
So do we have any words in the English language that contain the meaning for both characters in one package, and that feel modern? As a matter of fact, we do:
ex·u·ber·ant /iɡˈzo͞ob(ə)rənt/
ADJECTIVE filled with or characterized by a lively energy and excitement. "giddily exuberant crowds" synonyms: ebullient, buoyant, cheerful, sunny, breezy, jaunty, lighthearted, in high spirits, high-spirited, exhilarated, excited, elated, exultant, euphoric, joyful, cheery, merry, jubilant, sparkling, effervescent, vivacious, enthusiastic, irrepressible, energetic, animated, full of life, lively, vigorous, zestful
LITERARY growing luxuriantly or profusely. "exuberant foliage" synonyms: luxuriant, lush, rich, abundant, abounding, superabundant, profuse, copious, plentiful, riotous, prolific, teeming, flourishing, thriving, vigorous
“Exuberance” also sounds like a title for a team in the same way as Tyranny or Samsara do, to my ear. (Admittedly, not all the team names follow a particular style, but it fits better without standing out as so different, in my opinion.) It also works pretty well as the name of an internet cafe too.
So, that’s my suggestion for a better translation of the team name: Exuberance.
(You can make the argument that Happy fits them well in canon, thematically, for various reasons, even if it isn’t a perfect translation, and I would certainly agree with that, so this isn’t necessarily to deride the official translation.)

► HEADCANONS/FUN FACTS
jean is the only mutant in her family, but her parents always accepted her. they immediately reached out to charles xavier when they realized she was a mutant and were willing to do whatever it took to ensure their daughter was going to be okay
jean was the only girl on the x-men for a while and she actually enjoyed it. she was the first recruit but the last to join the team.
jean had a brief thing with warren when she thought scott wasn’t into her but realized she and warren worked better as friends. hank was also into her.
for some reason, all males are into her. it’s one of earth’s unexplained phenomenas.
the first time she experienced her powers was when she was ten and jean felt her friend annie die. that was the first time she felt death and it was the one that scared her the most, leaving her less afraid of dying
jean would ask someone to kill her if she thought the phoenix was going to take over. when the phoenix did take over she was killed, only to be resurrected.
when charles first entered her mind he set up walls to hold the phoenix back but when they broke jean didn’t know how to handle it, leaving her to resent him slightly as he left her so ill-prepared
jean was supposed to get her telekinesis long before her telepathy but being pulled from time ruined that and she was given both at once, leading to her being overwhelmed and the mental barriers slipping enough for the phoenix to be introduced early
when the institute was getting crowded, jean had a shining image she wanted to keep up and be the perfect mutant and student since she had always been so capable. this fantasy has long been forgotten and jean is embarrassed how far she’s fallen at times
while jean originally tried to stay out of the minds at others she now finds herself reading them more freely
she’s a firm believer that the third movies in a trilogy are trash
she does archery as a way to relax but only at the institute
jean is, of course, a class five omega mutant and there is no current way to determine why or how the phoenix chose her
she never grew out of her nightmares which shake buildings and levitate objects around her
charles death had a huge impact on her and jean tried to fill his shoes in some senses though she knew she’d fail. now he’s back but their relationship is more tense.
leading x-men: blue just felt natural and it’s allowed her to help mutants even outside the school
she doesn’t hate emma. maybe older jean did but this jean has nothing against her expect the fact that she makes jean feel inferior / young
she was drawn once to older scott is hot but he turned her down -- as he should have
big jean haunted her for a while
at first she was scared of her older self but now she loves jean like a sister even though she isn’t sure how she became so intelligent and composed
she hasn’t quite picked up the whole forgiveness thing yet
jean and scott were dating before coming to the future. when they saw the future they got scared and ended up pushing each other away. he joined the champions and jean ended up doing her own thing.
she’s been tentatively with jimmy. she’s not trying to replace scott but they have trust to rebuild and jimmy has been stable. she needs that.
following her death as the dark phoenix jean chopped her hair off and how has a bob with bangs
erik is a father like figure to jean. she’s been in his head and knows him well. as of right now it’s tense because of his actions during avengers v x-men but she loves him and wants to fix things
jean knows scott is her true-love deep down but she’s afraid she feels like she has to love him because of their history

For the entire run of Charles Soule’s Poe Dameron comic book series, readers have gotten the chance to experience the wit, bravery, and unselfish nature of the best pilot in the Resistance. We also have been introduced to Black Squadron, a muscular Hutt, and a compelling new villain. With a new storyline coming this May, StarWars.com e-mailed with Soule about what makes Poe Dameron unique, his Black Squadron copilots, and why Agent Terex is the perfect foil for the titular character.
Tumblr media
StarWars.com: Ever since fans were introduced to the characters in The Force Awakens, people have been drawn to Poe Dameron. What is it about the character that you find so compelling, and how do you channel that into the Poe Dameron series?
Charles Soule: I won’t lie — writing a swashbuckling expert pilot with charisma for miles won’t ever be a drag. Poe the character brings an energy to his scenes that’s pretty undeniable, like a feedback loop of fun and focus. Now, I know I’m writing about a fictional character as if he’s a real person, making me just the scribe jotting down his adventures as they happen, but sometimes it feels like that. Poe is sort of a force of nature.
StarWars.com: While Han Solo and Poe Dameron are a type of foil for one another, and both use unconventional methods at times, they are more dissimilar than they are alike. Compare and contrast the two pilots and what makes them tick.
Charles Soule: I’m tempted to do this in terms of Dungeons & Dragons alignments, but I don’t want to mash together too many fictional worlds here, so I’ll stick to Star Wars. Han is just a darker guy in general than Poe. You can rely on him, if he decides you’re worth his time and energy, but that’s not a foregone conclusion. I don’t think you’re ever quite sure where you stand with Han Solo, which is part of what makes him a great character. Poe is a more selfless character, just in general. I don’t see him ever trying to cut and run as long as there’s still someone he might be able to help. That said, Poe’s rampant idealism and self-confidence absolutely gets him into trouble, much the way Han’s sense of self-interest causes problems for him, as well. They’re both pretty awesome, though!
StarWars.com: Let’s look at your incredible run on this series so far. The series is initially set before the events of The Force Awakens and has taken Poe on a number of adventures. What stands out to you from your run so far, and what have been some of your biggest challenges as a storyteller?
Charles Soule: I’ve been really happy with the new characters we’ve introduced to the Star Wars universe, especially Poe’s nemesis Agent Terex, former Imperial stormtrooper and sometime officer in the First Order Security Bureau. He’s always a blast to write, almost a negative-image of Poe himself. Suralinda Javos and Oddy Muva are standouts as well, but even fleshing out characters from the films like Snap Wexley and Jess Pava has been fun, too. As far as challenges… I’d say the biggest thing was creating a compelling, strong adventure for Poe and Black Squadron that fit within what’s really a pretty small window in the Star Wars timeline — directly before The Force Awakens. We knew where the story ends, to a degree, so finding drama in the journey to get there was a tricky proposition. However, as is often the case in writing, solving the challenges was not just a great time, but resulted in a better story.
Tumblr media
StarWars.com: Agent Terex is not the traditional “bad guy” in a First Order uniform and is much more than an archetypal villain. And, despite Captain Phasma’s best efforts, he seems to have an iron will. How much fun is this character to write, and what can you tell us about his character arc?
Charles Soule: Right — Terex! As I mentioned, he was an Imperial stormtrooper, even present at the Battle of Jakku. He became a galactic crime boss in the intervening decades, a truly ruthless man, but he was always pining away for the lost Empire, which he thought was a pretty cool institution. So, when he heard rumors of this thing called the First Order, he signed up, offering his immense network of contacts and favors owed to them. For a while, that was fine, until he began to tangle with Poe, as they both searched the galaxy for the missing explorer Lor San Tekka, in the hopes he could lead them to Luke Skywalker. Poe can be a frustrating opponent, and we’ve seen all sorts of things happen to Terex on his journey in the series. Personally, though, I think he ends in a really good place, and I’d love to see him pop up elsewhere. We’ll see!
Tumblr media
StarWars.com: Through this series, we have also gotten to know the elite pilots of Black Squadron. What makes them such a perfect complement to Poe, and how do they keep one another “grounded,” especially considering how gifted they are at what they do?
Charles Soule: Black Squadron has evolved a bit over the course of the series, as any cast of characters should. We began with Poe, Temmin “Snap” Wexley, Jessika Pava, Karé Kun, L’ulo L’ampar, and their loyal(ish) ground tech and aspiring pilot Oddy Muva. We lost both L’ulo and Oddy, as well as more than a few astromechs assigned to Jess, but a new member joined — the one-time journalist and New Republic Navy veteran Suralinda Javos. Snap and Karé got married at the end of #25, too, which was a storyline I built for a long time in the series. I think they all love each other, and would do anything for each other, but these are fighter pilots. They’re competitive. Still, they usually manage to channel those tendencies into the fight against the First Order, where it should go.
StarWars.com: We also meet Ivee, the incredibly brave astromech (see Poe Dameron #25) that has a rather strong bond with BB-8. What inspired this storyline, and what has the response been like?
Charles Soule: It’s been so fun! Ivee and BB-8 clicked immediately, becoming extremely fast friends, connected in a deep way that organic beings probably can’t completely understand. I thought it might just be fun to give BB-8 sort of a… well, I don’t know if you can call it a romance, exactly, but certainly a very close friendship with another droid. The response has been strongly positive. It’s sort of amazing to me what you can do in comics, and storytelling in general, to imbue a hunk of metal, plastic, and wires with what really feels like “humanity” — whatever that means in a universe filled with all sorts of non-human sentients.
StarWars.com: You clearly have a talent for finding the voice of so many iconic Star Wars characters, and nowhere is it more apparent than when you write Leia Organa. It’s a tribute to your writing prowess that you are able to add to her wonderful legacy. How do you maintain the nuance of this character and keep her so fresh and engaging?
Charles Soule: Leia’s awesome, and really, writing her is not that different from writing any of the characters in any of my Star Wars projects. I just do my best to put myself in their position and let them talk. Leia is a master politician, incredibly empathetic, but also wry and funny. She’s faced with the re-emergence of an evil force she thought she’d defeated decades before, and now she’s doing everything she can to prevent it from taking over the galaxy. She’s under enormous stress, but she handles it with charm and grace. She also takes zero crap from anyone — that’s a big part of writing her, too.
Tumblr media
StarWars.com: The “Legend Found” arc features a poignant conversation between Poe and Lor San Tekka in which they discuss the nature of the Force. It’s a great way to see the Force from the perspective of non-Jedi characters, but also teaches us a bit more about this mystical energy field. What do we learn from this conversation?
Charles Soule: The biggest thing, I think, is the way a character like Lor San Tekka who’s been studying the Force his whole life views the “hero Force-wielders.” Jedi and Sith, essentially. Lor understands why they get all the attention, as agents of the Cosmic Force, but he knows they’re just a small part of the immense whole that is the Living Force. For Lor, and for the vast majority of beings in the galaxy, it’s all about the Living Force. I hadn’t seen The Last Jedi yet when I wrote that sequence, but now that I have, I think it’s pretty fair to say that Luke Skywalker would probably agree with Lor San Tekka’s point of view, at least in part.
Tumblr media
The cover of Poe Dameron #27, coming May 16.
StarWars.com: In May, you have a new arc in store for readers. What can you tell us about it?
Charles Soule: The bookends of Poe Dameron issues 26-31 are set moments after the events of The Last Jedi. I don’t want to suggest that it’s a direct mini-sequel or anything like that; the story is told as a flashback in a conversation following the Battle of Crait. It just gives fans a taste of where things are after the film wraps up. It also takes a look at both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi from the point of view of characters we didn’t necessarily see in the movies, and will catch us up on what Black Squadron was up to during Episode VIII in particular. I can’t wait for these issues to begin coming out — they were so much fun to write!

Hey! So I’m making this my primary kin blog! Here’s a big, all purpose canon call I guess?
My full kin list can be found in my ABOUT, but:
TAZ
Sloane- I love talking to everyone, even doubles, so please HMU!
OUAT
Ruby- I have a lot of storybrooke memories, and I’d love to talk to Emma and Belle again especially, but really anyone!
Felix*- being obscure kin is suffering, but I also have a ton of memories. I’m super down with talking to anyone with a Peter Pan adjacent kin whether or not they’re my canon! I also remember knowing Alice, and adult Henry.
Harry Potter
Remus Lupin*- biggest strongest loneliest kin TBH. If you’re one of the marauders please, I’m desperate. No doubles please!
The Raven Cycle
Adam Parish- exhausted magical bisexual, low-key a druid. High key dating Ronan. Super awkward and bad and talking but what’d you expect? No doubles please, but anyone else I’d really like to talk to.
MARVEL
Charles Xavier *- Movie canon, mostly. I miss all my kids and my friends. I'd love to talk to anyone or any mutants.
Teddy Altman - follows canon pretty closely, I'd love to talk to any of my team, or any marvel heroes :)
Gertrude Yorkes- Canon compliant (comics), non-binary genderfluid. I miss my dinosaur and my boyfriend Chase and my QP Nico. Would love to talk to any marvel kin!!!
Venom - Movie and comics canon. Goopy symbiot husband. I love my husband Eddie Brock and also our best friend Spiderman :)
PJO
Percy Jackson- Annabeth was a really good friend, but we broke up not too long after BoO. Big Bisexual energy. I hung out with Jason a lot post canon, and he remained alive, which we love for him. I came and went from Camp as an adult and did my best to help the kids. Luke Castellan kinda had a point and we had a complex relationship. Also Tartarus trauma but we knew that- it was a big bonding point with me, Annabeth, and Nico.
YUGIOH
Yusei Fudo - Canon compliant, including BBS (is love to talk to yugi or Judai again).
Ryou Bakura - please talk to me about tabletop rpgs and the occult. Ryou also does tarot and other psychic stuff so hmu for a reading!
KYO KARA MAOH
Wolfram Von Bielefeld- are they any other kkm kin out there please I'm dying
SQUARE ENIX
Ienzo/Zexion: ienzo twice, zexion between those times. I lost my heart when I was 14, and got it back just after 24. My memories as Ienzo before I lost my heart are very fuzzy. Identity issues and trauma galore, but I am trying to be better and make up for things. Doubles are great actually.
Neku Sakuraba- aka Phones. I was trans/nb and Shiki was a trans girl. Beat was my best friend and we weren’t quiet dating but almost. I really miss my friends. I really miss Josh. Like a lot. I don’t have memories from KH:DDS/Traverse Town but it’d be cool to talk to anyone from there :)
PRATCHETT
Aziraphale (Good Omens)- British, intelligent, gayer than a tree full of monkies on nitrox oxcide 😇 Crowley and I had a very special relationship. I wouldn’t call it dating because after 100 years of years of being officially “together” as it were, it was so much deeper. I secretly loved the Bentley. I also was in a pseudo friendship with Pollution? Odd.
Angua Von Uberwald (Discworld)- Canon compliant, I married Carrot in my canon and also was sort of dating Sally. Cheery is and will forever be my best friend in the whole world and I’d die for her.
THE PENUMBRA PODCAST
Juno “Disaster man” Steel* - big bi sad Disaster garbage man in a short skirt and a loooooooobg jacket 🧥
WOLF359
Daniel Jacobi *- BIG gay, madly platonically in love with my best friend, the smartest and most wonderful brilliant incredible woman in the entire universe, Dr. Alana Maxwell. I also had a BIG thing for my boss (not like it was a secret lmao) whoops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Aaaaaaand a kinda dopey crush on Eiffel. He was funny and cute I don’t know what you want from me. It’s hard being gay and lonely ok don’t @ me. A lot of post-canon memories about everyone- Doug and I lived together in an old SI-5 safehouse, along with Hera and Athena (Alana’s clone AI). Kepler came back too, at some point, and had a beard which was great for me.
I’ve got a lot of memories of non-canon Goddard employees and friends, including an AI (I think with the designation Odysseus?), so if you are non-canon hmu!
Non-Sourced/Original Source/NF/Misc
Zaz - a tiefling bard who really wants to be a wizard. Raised in a dark elf circus, I was a clown and I just wanted to make people smile! I had big demon teeth that made me lisp badly when I tried to speak common, and I was told never to speak my language around guests because it was “too scary” so I never really talked. I wore bells around my wrists and ankles and would jingle :)
AFTG
Neil Josten - Yeah I'll get back to this one
Criminal Minds
Aaron Hotchner - Team Dad. My team was my family, and I never remarried after Haley. I was big into musical theatre and would take Jack to community theatre productions (and sometimes other members of the team if they were willing).
Musicals
The Rum Tum Tugger (CATS) - A curious cat! Besties/FWB with Bumblarina, tight with Mungojerry and Runmpleteaser, cooler younger brother of Munkostrap, boyfriends with Mistofelees even though he won't publicly admit to it.
Enjolras (Les Miserables) - Fiery revolutionary, french bastard with bad taste in men.
Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert (Tangled) - I watched Tangled the Animated Series and now I kin transmasc bisexual disaster icon Flynn Rider.
Characters marked with a * are main/primary IDs!

HONESTLY??? I’M EMO AS HECK RIGHT NOW BECAUSE YOU’RE ALL SUCH BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE??????
i could go on for days about how much this blog means to me. but i’ll just say this: these past two semesters have been really hard for me. i transferred to the college of my dreams, have been making friends, and have been adjusting to a new school... but change is really hard for me. and its overwhelming to be in a new place with new people and not know whether or not people want to befriend me or not. or whether i’m worthy or deserving of even being at this school. who am i to be able to reach for the stars and try to achieve my dreams? but if this show taught me anything, it’s that sometimes things aren’t based on merit. they just are. and having this place to come to when the anxiety of real life can be a little too much for me to handle has been an amazing safe haven for me. thank you all for being the extra bit of glue i needed to keep myself together and able throughout this past school year.
so onto the dedications under the cut!!!!
THE MAIN BAE.
@soldiiermade // you really have a heart of gold. i’ve never met a roleplay partner that uplifts me, but also listens, and wants to understand me as much as you have. i’ve been burned a lot in my past. especially in roleplay. and having you as an rp partner really changed the narrative in my mind. even if we fall out of touch, i just want to say that i feel super honored to be able to write with you and build a world with you. you’re an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you deserve so much happiness. i know we’re both just total nerds. but you’re special to me. you showed me that i can actually trust people around here, gave me a model for how a roleplay partner should be, and that’s really important to me.
THE BELL BAES.
@amongthcwreck // @slayxdemons // @toysoldicr y’all rock so hard. liz, i love every single verse we have. your writing always challenges me to take a different route with clarke & it always keeps her honest. heather, you were the first bellamy i roleplayed with on clarke & while we don’t have much, i’ve loved being in the gv with you!! and tammi, we don’t rp as much on here as clarke but over on my octavia ( @retributiions ) we do & wow i could go on for hours about how i ADOREANDAMHIGHKEYOBSESSEDWITH their connection & how amazing you are & how well you write & understand bellamy. thank you all for being such beautiful babes!

LEX!!!!!! I ALWAYS LOVED OUR MODERN PARA SO MUCH. it was just this super pure ic thing & we never really talked, but it flowed really well & i was just so into it bc we didn’t have to plot it. we kinda just let our muses take the lead & it was rly nice. as for the group verse: thank you so much for making it? it’s just such a great, positive, uplifting, fun group verse that i didn’t expect to be as welcoming as it was and i’m so happy it’s evolved into what it is now. i’m in it for the long haul!!

Review: June Star Wars Comics
Delays from conventions made this a cramped reading schedule for me, but thankfully most of the comics are good despite reading three books by a writer who lacks in talent.  However, the conclusion of The Screaming Citadel really brought up the quality this month.  Overall, it was a good month and hopefully July and August will trim down the numbers a bit before the ‘journey to’ comics that will be coming in September.
JUNE COMICS:
Darth Vader #1: The second volume of Darth Vader comes in with a generic cover and very little to separate it from the first volume.  This time we have Charles Soule (Poe Dameron) as the writer, but unlike his previous two Star Wars outings this is a pretty good first issue.  It has some writing flaws, for example, the speech by Mas Amedda that intercuts an emotional battle between Vader and the Emperor really hurts the tone.  The art is very good except for faces, they can look a little off for some reason.  However, the more cartoony style is my preference for Star Wars comics.  In addition to that, the fights can be followed and have lots of energy behind them.  Then there is the backup gag comic in that Sunday Funny comic style that just doesn’t feel right in Star Wars.  The story is Vader killing various generals while a mouse droid tries to ready his meditation chamber.  I don’t find unnecessary death funny and overall the book would have been better without the backup.  This was a fine issue one I can only hope that Charles Soule doesn’t screw it all up.
Darth Vader #2: The story continues as Vader makes his way to a Jedi outpost to gather information on his target.  This puts Vader against stormtroopers like in a alt skin version of The Force Unleashed, but while Starkiller was undercover Vader has no excuse for not explaining why he is there.  This issue is an excuse for a couple mediocre fight scenes and padding before Vader tracks down his target.  The repartee between the stormtroopers is fun, but it is a small part of this story.  The art is better than the previous issue since just about everyone is wearing a helmet, but the action is rather bland.  This wasn’t a bad issue, but it doesn’t feel me with confidence that this will be a good series.
Rogue One #3: The story picks up as Jedha City is bombarded by the Death Star.  The story continues until the assault on Eadu with very few changes in the story.  There is a nice moment with Saw before his death, but not much else that seems changed or added.  The big advantage in this version is the emotion on people’s faces which still beat the wooden performances from the movie.  There is still very little reason to jump into this comic if you have seen the movie, but it is a well done retelling with some great artwork and a few minor changes to the dialogue.
Star Wars #32: The Screaming Citadel continues as Leia, Sana, and the droids try to stay alive as the violent madness in the citadel reachs a climax.  Meanwhile, Aphra makes her escape while Luke and Han are tortured by the Queen.  This issue ends with an intense cliffhanger as everything seems to be getting more and more crazy in this crossover.  The writing is fantastic with some great dialogue from Triple-Zero as well as an emotional moment for Aphra.  The art is top teir and makes the grotesque citadel really stand out, but outside the castle the backgrounds are a little bland. There is no reason to not read this story as it looks to be ending with a bang.
Doctor Aphra #8:  The ending of the crossover begins exactly where the last issue ended with the heroes pushed to their limits while facing the Queen’s army.  The resolution comes a bit faster than I would have liked, but it did give enough room to resolve a few remaining plot threads.  This was a great event with an ending that makes me remember why I love these comics so much.  The art is also pretty good, but not spectacular.  Overall, this was a great ending to The Screaming Citadel and this event is a must read for those looking for a different type of Star Wars adventure.     the only downside is that unlike Vader Down this crossover doesn’t do much to change the status quo.
Darth Maul #4: The story begins with a recap and the various criminals coming after Darth Maul and his bounty hunter team.  This issue is mostly made up of fight scenes, which gets old, but the interludes featuring Darth Maul and the Padawan are well written. The art is still the biggest highlight of this series with faces being expressive and the world feeling like a Star Wars world.  The conclusion will likely be action packed as well and I can’t wait to read the next issue.  This is one of the best series currently running amongst the Star Wars comics.
Droids: Unplugged #1: This is a compilation issue featuring three previously published side stories featuring droid characters.  I have covered all three of these stories before in previous reviews and I am not going to review them again here.  I only really liked SaBBatage as it was a cute BB-8 side story, but the others just feel like filler material for shorter issues of comics. If you have a younger child in your life this might be a fun way to introduce them to Star Wars comics, but beyond that this could be skipped as it adds nothing to the overall story of any aspect of Star Wars.  Frankly, the only reason to own this is if you are a massive completionist or if you never read these stories due to picking up the trades (and you’re a completionist).
Poe Dameron Annual #1: If you get a talented writer than even an Annual that I wasn’t looking forward to reading can be enjoyable. Robbie Thompson blows the terrible writing of the main series away with a story about Poe Dameron trying to survive after being stranded in space.  This leads Poe to eventually learning key intel about the First Order and having a few good fights.  The art is a bit better than most issues of the series with the faces looking very realistic, but the expressions can be a little wonky.  The action is a little stiff, but it does have enough life to make it more visually interesting than the main series action scenes.  It’s too bad this is tied into the Poe Dameron series because this is a great creative team that wont be coming back to Poe Dameron any time soon making me hate the main series that much more.  Ideally, this team will be back for more Star Wars because they have talent and making a boring character’s adventures far more interesting than the current Dameron creative team.
Poe Dameron #16: The series continues as Poe and his team try to escape the trapped freighter and solve the fuel issues the Resistance is facing.  The writing is still bad with everyone being panicked one moment then solving everything with no problem the next.  Everything comes together too easily, but the arc isn’t over which means these events will have consequences, maybe.  The art seems different than previous issues, but that makes some of the character designs look off from the norm of this saga.  Overall, this was an average issue of this series so there is no real surprises here.  I am hoping this series will come to an end soon, but with the big Last Jedi push that will be coming in September I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Based on some of the ships I’m seeing on AO3, I’m not sure that black butler fans realize Charles Grey is an adult
