I'm not anti-technology, I just think there's something deeply sick about a society where robots make art and children work in factories.

Children as young as 6, working 12 hour days digging by hand, receiving $1 a day…think about it before you purchase your next laptop/electric vehicle
Free Congo🇨🇩 & end consumerism and wasteful consumption.
Apple Hub (not affiliated with Apple Official, but their account is influencial/popular among Apple users-adding this for context [01/07/24.]. They posted this a few days ago -it's about 2 different phone models (for fucking display changes).
Apple has been hyper-exploiting people in the Global South to mine for resources to make their products for YEARS, and I need more people to stop buying (unless necessity requires it -I waited 7-8 years before I had to change my phone, and next time I do it'll be a refurbished one) -until these entire systems are dismantled and made to be be ethical in every aspect of their businesses and not just on paper, boycott them.
I also know that Apple will change one spec and advertise like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, so to speak -and this cult-following just eats this up time and again. If you're not already informed about this inherently violent and corrupt industry -then get to know. And stop supporting these companies.

Lewis Hine, Photographer of the American Working Class
Few American photographers have captured the misery, dignity, and occasional bursts of solidarity within US working-class life as compellingly as Lewis Hine did in the early twentieth century.

Lewis Hine -Little Rosie 1913. She was a regular oyster shucker. She was just 7 years old and in her second year at Varn & Platt Canning Co. Bluffton, South Carolina
As an investigative photographer, Hine chronicled the normalized labor abuses in US factories leading up to the Great Depression. Not only did he help introduce some of the country’s first child labor laws, he also revolutionized photography’s artistic use value.

More than 300 children, including two 10-year-olds, were found working at McDonald's restaurants across Kentucky and several other states in violation of federal labor laws, the Labor Department said Tuesday.
In one case, investigators found two 10-year-olds were working unpaid and until as late as 2 a.m. at one McDonald's restaurant in Louisville operated by Bauer Food LLC, which is based in Louisville, the department said in a news release.
The two children prepared and distributed food orders, cleaned the store, worked at the drive-thru window and operated a register, investigators found. One of them was also allowed to operate a deep fryer, a task prohibited for workers under the age of 16 under federal law.
Most of the restaurants, 45 of the 62, were in Kentucky, according to data released by the department.
The revelation was part of an investigation into the child labor law violations in the Southeast. The agency also found three franchisees that own more than 60 McDonald's locations in Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio, "employed 305 children to work more than the legally permitted hours and perform tasks prohibited by law for young workers" the Labor Department said in a statement.
The franchisees, Bauer Food, Archways Richwood and Bell Restaurant Group, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. CNN has also reached out to McDonald's for comment.

A Mississippi chicken slaughterhouse put a child into a 'preventable, dangerous situation', the Labor Department has concluded - after the death of a 16-year-old sucked into a chicken deboning plant. Duvan Perez had been cleaning equipment at the Hattiesburg plant of Mar-Jac Poultry on July 14, 2023, when he was pulled into the rotating shaft of a machine and sustained fatal injuries. Perez, originally from Guatemala, had been hired to work at the slaughterhouse by a recruitment firm - despite it being illegal for under 18s to work at a meat processing plant. His death caused widespread outrage, and on Wednesday the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - a division of the Department of Labor - issued their report, finding a litany of errors and recommending $212,646 in penalties. They also highlighted two previous deaths at the company's facilities since 2020, and accused the company of complacency and recklessness.
