I need more fanfics where Draco is in Azkaban and Hermione falls for him regardless. It’s always so sweet and enduring at first, then it gets hella passionate!! I’ve read Out of Mind by #galfoy and Until the Ink Runs Dry by @acciomjolnir recently (twice lol)! Anyone have recs for me? Draco on house arrest is good too, but it doesn’t have that same level of desperate yearning. Apple Pies and Other Amends by #toeatapeach was great!

Harry Potter Rec Fest Day 14 - Favorite Series

I have a lot of series bookmarked, but due to time constraints, I often default to shorter stories. There are a few series that I devoured though and I'm grateful for @hprecfest for reminding me to rec them. All of them have excellent podfic versions too!

Do It All Over Again by @dracowillhearaboutthis (Podfic read by @sandstripe) Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 468,229 Length: 34:34:15 Rating: E

This is a canon rewrite beginning before first year, when 11 year old Draco receives a letter from his future self. I found it to be well thought out and developed Draco's character in an interesting way.

As for the podfic, the narrator themself states in the notes that the read fast, and they absolutely do. But they speak clearly, recording quality is good, there's no bumps or breathing or other unnecessary sounds, and if you slow it down to 75 or 80 %, I find it to be totally listenable. I honestly don't know how they speak so quickly, it's superhuman!

The Mirror of Ecidyrue by starbrigid (Podfic of the first 4.5 books on Spotify by starseeker) Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 1,219,490 Length: long Rating: T to eventually E

This is also a canon rewrite, but with Draco going unwillingly back in time. He doesn't immediately become buddy-buddy with Harry; it's actually Hermione who befriends him. There's funny and angsty and really thoughtful canon adherence and divergence. I haven't finished the series yet, but I've enjoyed it so much. Starseeker reads it very beautifully and still updates sporadically (believe me, I know what a massive undertaking it is to record a series like this of 1.2 million words!), so I'm kind of holding out hope that they'll finish and I'll be able to listen to the rest. They're currently abut halfway through book 5.

@heyjude19-writing already said everything I would say about this series, and much more eloquently (obviously). I'll just add that I almost used this rec for both Comfort fics and Fics that make you cry (porque no los dos?), and that @beatificbean does a beautiful job with this series as well. She just cranks out the top-tier drama and romance; I aspire to someday be so prolific and talented. I mean, she recorded over ONE MILLION words just for these two recs, and there's lots more where that came from.

The war was over. Or at least that’s what the papers said. They’d been saying it, for months, as if people needed reminding. Maybe they did. *** In which Harry and Draco both run away from their pasts and conveniently choose to hide in the same tiny American town. It's super. EDIT: Obviously we're already operating on the notion that there are several problematic aspects of Rowling's books, but just in case it wasn't clear from my rather heavy-handed narrative adjustments--I do not support TERF extraordinaire JK Rowling; however, I refuse to let her shitty worldviews ruin my nostalgia or my love of the HP fandom I've grown up with. Just to make that clear.

Now my podfic history can be counted with one hand, with one finger, and it is this. I've been listening to this at the gym, and I'm on chapter 10 right now. I could be much further but as it happens to be I haven't been to the gym in a while so.. As far as what comes to the story itself, it's really good and intriguing. The southern small town vibes are vibing. I know it's gotten a lot of praise and I guess I need to hit the gym more often so I can finally finish it. I can't believe I'm at a point in my life where the only motivation to hit the gym is to listen to Harry Potter fanfiction. Not complaining though. The podfic is really good as well, I like the pacing and the narrators voice is pleasant. They do voices and different accents too, which I know is a subject that divides audiobook listeners, I personally really don't mind it, I think it's fun.

Bring Him To His Knees by Musyc (Rated MA)  Draco is on the case of a murderer, but to investigate, he needs a fake relationship - and a kink club play partner. When Hermione volunteers to take the role, both do their best to maintain the lie without letting each other know the truth: neither of them are acting.

COMPLETE: Yes TYPE: Multi-Chapter CATEGORY: Post-War, Post-Hogwarts, Auror Draco

MY OPINION: This is the first fic I didn't read...I listened to as an audiobook/podcast that was read aloud by ETL Echo on Spotify. It was definitely a new and unique way to experience Dramione as I could listen to it at work as well as while driving. The story itself was definitely a Musyc original and filled with all the hot and heavy smut that could be expected in very unique settings. The mystery was well laid out but didn't take over the entire story as the main focus was on the character development and relationship of Draco and Hermione. Unfortunately I found Draco and Hermione to be completely OOC and most of the situations they found themselves in to be very OOC too (spoilers - Pansy married to Harry with Hermione living with them and inviting Draco over to dinner while the two pined after one another).

Getting to Know You Tag Game

Three Ships: I imprinted on Dramione in 2021 and that was it for me. But I also adore a NottPott and a Panville. You could probably sell me on any ship.

First Ship: Before I knew what fanfic was I kept a spiral bound notebook under my bed that I filled with Cassie/Jake from Animorphs. But also Tobias has my heart forever.

Last Song: Ok but 99% of what I’ve been listening to right now is Brown Noise, despite that the words “brown noise” next to each other in that order are heinous. The most recent thing on my Spotify history is “Stirring Brown Noise” by Loud Lowness. Great track. Highly recommend.

Last Movie: RWRB and I loved it!

Currently Watching: New season of Lower Decks. I wish Mariner would adopt me to be her bestie 🥺

Currently Reading: Supposedly I’m reading RWRB, but I’m currently working on a big, all-consuming work thing and holding RWRB hostage as my reward.

Last Thing I Wrote: In June I wrote a Dramione one-shot (with beautiful art by @tinyq and podfic by @etl-echo-audiobooks) about a lab accident that’s going to destroy all magical life in Britain, and Hermione has to stop it except she’s lost her memories. There’s a lot of popsicle stick-esque dentist jokes that I’m proud to say I made up myself.

Currently Writing: The big, all-consuming work thing that necessitates me listening to such heat rocks as “Mother Nature Sings the Brown Noise” by Breez Bing.
