I bother a lot of people by making conversations and messaging off anon <3 lol.

No but seriously, I personally find it comfortable to reply and comment off-anon when I am mutuals with the person. And then from there, it's about messaging off anon and starting a DM! It helps, obviously, if your interests and thoughts are aligned. It can definitely be intimidating!! But as you build up followers/make mutuals, it starts getting easier. I still worry I am annoying people, especially fic writers, so I try not to always initiate. And truly, I only speak to @monegasque, @danthropologie, and @blamemma on the daily 24/7 continuous convo but I do talk to others often and keep a convo going on tumblr dms or discord or whatsapp - just depends on what's happening, etc.!

We already see that they have the same room, which most likely means the same closet, and since the two of them have a relatively similar build (and thus, similar clothing sizes), they just don't really bother separating their clothes (probably why they're matching so often)

The twins absolutely love going over to Ashlyn's place to get self-defense training from Mike and Emma. With their father being gone for a while, and their mom being not all there (for lack of a better description), it's been a long time since they've had a stable parental figure in their lives

Ashlyn's parents are just so nice to them and treat them like their own kids. I just think it's something they needed in their life that they found in an unexpected place :(

Ben loves to paint! He took up art and drawing ever since he lost his voice, and finds painting specifically very calming

He's been working on portraits for each of his friends that are all lying half-finished around his room

Even when he finishes them, though, he probably wouldn't show them for a while because he's quite nervous about it

If he DOES show them, he would definitely give Taylor her's first, because that's who he feels closest to

I feel like Logan, with working at the flower shop and all that, probably spends a bit of time putting together little bouquets for his friends

Not as like a grand show of affection, but just little gifts to show his appreciation for them being around and caring about him

Probably personalizes them a LOT too. Not only does he coordinate them to match the favorite colors/flowers of the person he's making them for, but he knows all the symbolic meanings behind each flower

Like, for example, I bet he gets yellow roses for Ben to signify friendship, and pink roses for Ashlyn to signify gratitude, that sort of stuff

ok hear me out. total drama high school au. alenoah. scott pilgrim but instead of evil exes noah is friends with them all and they find it hilarious so they make a pact to have to approve whoever he dates next, and noah finds it fucking hilarious so he goes with it.

1: owen (and izzy and eva by association)

e-scope are poly! izzy is dating eva and owen, and owen was dating izzy and noah. noah loves his idiots, but decided he needs a partner with at least a shred of sanity. they're all still best friends and very close! dated for fiveish months sophomore year!

2: cody (of course)

middle school bfs. dated for like two weeks until noah couldn't deal with cody anymore. have been friends for so long he can't get rid of him, despite it all noah appreciates the geek (even if he wants to strangle him most of the time)

3: tyler

tyler came out as bi in freshman year (noah was his gay awakening) and asked him out on impulse. noah found it amusing and accepted, knowing the jock would quickly figure out he wouldn't wanna date such a pessimist. broke up after like a month, tyler is a good friend and very happy with his gf lindsay!

4: justin

got dared to ask out noah and date him for three days freshman year, accepted the challenge. noah isn't stupid, so he accepted then broke up with him after two days, making him lose the bet. justin was so distraught about it he confronted noah, who quickly learned he may be a prick but really he's just a crybaby attention seeker. if you asked noah now why he's friends with him, he couldn't give you an answer. but they're on friendly-rivalish terms!

5: emma

first and only gf. was scared to come out as a lesbian to everyone, so noah offered to date her to ward of suspicion from her family (people assume he's bi, he's still not sure) till she was ready. dated for a solid year between sophomore and junior year before she came out and got with her current gf (courtney), her and noah are lesbian gay solidarity, he's good friends with her and her sister, kitty.

6: duncan:

most recent breakup. end of junior year they both wound up in detention together a lot (noah couldn't stop correcting teachers + being a snark in class) ((duncan is a delinquent)) and a very unlikely friendship formed. duncan wanted to piss his ex (courtney) off so he would constantly flirt with noah in front of everyone. unbothered, noah and him went on a few dates just to post about it. emma found it very funny, courtney did not. both boys enjoy being assholes and judging people together.

Despite being so they managed to stay as regular siblings (petty arguments, stealing eachothers bikes, playing pranks on eachothers gangs)

Waleed was newly arrived in the UK from Sudan three years ago, when he became among the first to take part in Refugees Rock, then a fledgling project offering free climbing sessions to refugees and asylum seekers.  

It’s easy to imagine what might be going through his head. ‘Will I make it?’, perhaps, or ‘What happens if I fail?’ As a sporting metaphor for the challenges faced by refugees like him, climbing could not be more apt. 

“That feeling when people make it to the top for the first time and they look back down at you: they’re beaming and smiling because they’ve got there, and everyone’s cheering. It has a much deeper meaning than just climbing,” said Emma Leaper. Leaper is national coordinator with the Action Asylum initiative, which runs Refugees Rock alongside The British Red Cross and the Climbing Hangar.  

“It reflects the resilience of some of the people we’re working with, the journeys they’ve undergone and the fact that they’ve come all this way in the face of adversity.” 

Next month marks Refugees Rock’s third year in operation. Starting with just a handful of anxious newbies at The Climbing Hangar’s Liverpool branch, it now hosts hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers at 14 centres across the UK.  

Camaraderie is a huge draw. In a show of solidarity, local climbers have been recruited as volunteer ‘boulder buddies’ to show asylum-seeking newcomers the ropes, and extend a warm hand of friendship. 

“It’s just wonderful,” said Leaper. “You leave your problems behind. You’re not thinking about your asylum case, or the fact that you’re separated from your family and the trauma you’ve gone through – you’re thinking about the problem on the wall in front of you. 

“But the biggest difference I notice in people is in their confidence – up on that wall, they’re basically finding themselves again.”"

Oh look, the donghua is doing the heavy lifting for me and juxtaposing them on its own volition. (kind of a continuation of this)

Plot-wise, Li Tianchen's relationship with Lu Guang hinges basically on trying to manipulate and hurt Cheng Xiaoshi to do his bidding through hurting LG (worth noting this implies an understanding of such attachments, and the viciousness stems from a certain resentment of it + his twisted personality). I don't even remember if he's aware LG also has powers.

but tbh the funniest thing coming out of LTC vs CXS&LG is that, in a weird way, he was actually letting off his anger on the "right target", kinda? Technically? Of course I'm not saying LG deserves it nor that LTC was being anything but unhinged. But I do believe there's more than meets the eye (and probably informs the ways Lu Guang can be confronted on the narrative, more on that by the end)

Bc this show is competent, many characters have parallels with each protagonist, and LTC-LG are no different. There's a post I couldn't find that went on their reactions to their most precious people dying in front of them: whereas LTC loses all hope, LG has the means to go back, and thus doesn't even try to let go. Alas, they're both tacticians who, despiste meaning well for LTX and CXS, end up manipulating them into inaction/ignorance;

And they do so bc both feel adrift and out of options - but the show focus a lot on how powerless LTC feels about his life for it to not be a big factor. LTC fights so hard for a modicum of control that I don't even think it registers how he impacts LTX, meanwhile LG has so many variables stacked against him and his empathetic partner that he ends up prioritizing CXS' survival, even above their connection (he keeps to himself Emma's death, for example)

In the twins past, LG was the one that guided CXS into staying on task. And before that, he hid the photo even from the police. Tbh he'd never see it that way, but isn't this accidentally the best revenge for his stabbing? lol

Either way, LTC loses his hope, blames CXS and believes him to be what LTC hates the most, a nice guy who's secretly a jerk. Except. Who is actually closer to this description? A guy who can be polite but will stay passive if that affects CXS too much, to the point of lying about saving Chen Xiao's mom?

Curious to me he was also pretty straight forward in calling LG a jerk, and maybe it's just because LG botched his kidnapping attempt. But maybe he has pretty good instincts bc I don't think he even knows why he hates the man so much, lol. After all, for all Li Tianchen knows, everyone is a jerk who stands by and watch.

And maybe it makes him even angrier because he finally met someone who also has powers and is willing to call him "friend" and "play" with him. Considering his one friendship was with Liu Xiao, someone he's aware has plans, he might've even considered to have his own pet project on CXS. But the thing is, this person already seems to have a way more genuine friendship, and it's with LG.

Summary: LTC, if only he knew, would hate LG for not changing his past + being a guy who's very much capable of standing by and watch + having an actual friendship with CXS

DISCLAIMER: I think on his own right, Lu Guang values kindness in general. But LTC's vision is too black and white to even account for that.

While I'm on the topic of LG: while his passivity keeps him from being of any effective help to the twins, he's also keenly aware of the butterfly effect and that he could possibly make things worse instead, something CXS has been confronting throughought the story.

And yet. His objective is what ultimately makes us see this approach as instead of wise, more akin to the desperation of a grieving man - not unlike LTC who by the end of s2, gives up altogether of hope and follows the Big Bad. Besides, it somewhat clashes with the fact CXS actually does make a difference for the clients, be it by making the past more tender (Chen Bin's wife has sweeter memories, Dou Dou's life was actively made less worse) or the present better (lesbian noodles make up, Dou Dou's father and Qiao Ling reconcile), which is also something LG is aware of, since he agreed to deliver Chen Xiao's messages. So far I don't personally see a clean, objectively correct approach, thus I'm willing to bet it'll be whatever is diametrically opposite of Liu Xiao's, lmao

-kinda unrelated, but I've seen people mentioning an interview where Li Haoling-laoshi (aka the director) said he tweaked a little with Li Tianchen before s2, and he was meant to be (even more) obsessed with Cheng Xiaoshi, making this whole post even more hilarious

Shinichiro Sano top 10 moments!

10. Picking up Sanzu from juvie, Sanzu had no one else at this point so I'm sure he was appreciative of this. It's just another example of Shinichiro being a good guy.

9. Stopping the gang war between Wakasa and Benkei, we still have no idea how this happened exactly but whatever Shinichiro did it definitely worked. Not only did he stop a war which probably would've caused a lot of chaos but he's responsible for the close friendship Wakasa and Benkei ended up having.

8. Doing his best to make Emma feel welcome. It seems pretty clear the minute Shinichiro saw Emma he was in big brother mode, smiling and making jokes to try and make her feel better and vowing to make her smile.

7. Giving up his career and dedicating his life to Mikey in the first timeline. Shinichiro literally did everything he could to help Mikey and make his life more comfortable, even if it took it's toll on his own health.

6. Being kind to Inui and spending a lot of time with him. Poor Inui had lost his sister, seemed to have parents who were busy and his only friend was busy with money. He definitely needed someone and Shinichiro seems to have filled that role for him. We don't know a lot about their friendship exactly but it clearly meant a lot to Inui.

5. Wanting to save Mikey so much he commits murder and time leaps to save him. Ok Shinichiro was definitely not justified in the first bit, he shouldn't have done that and even Shinichiro himself acknowledged that. But he does manage to save Mikey and change things for the better, his devotion to Mikey is unmatched.

4. Finding Izana and trying to care for him, it's clear the amount of influence Shinichiro had on Izana's life, the amount of happiness Shin gave him. He really did his best to make Izana happy and care for him.

3. Founding the black dragons, Shinichiro was just out here making the most iconic gang Tokyo has ever seen. They come out of nowhere, establish themselves as the top gang and then just leave. Not even mentioning all the strong gens that follow.

2. Saving Takemichi from the kids and giving him the time leap, it's safe to say without Shinichiro the whole story wouldn't have happened and we never would've gotten our time leaping crybaby hero.

1. Raising Emma and Mikey, Shin was basically a parent to two kids as a teen with the way he was expected to care for his siblings. But we've never seen him complain or falter in caring for his siblings, he clearly did a great job raising the two of them.

I'm trying to puzzle out Alejandro's characterisation as a thirty three year old.

I've largely decided to skip the robot thing but give Alejandro some degree of physical disability from the volcano, involving a leg prosthetic, which he successfully sued Chris over because y'know negligence. He hates Chris.

And I'm trying to figure out his sexuality. Is he gay or bi? Is Aleheather genuine or not?

Personally, I'm leaning towards:

- Gay guy with a severe case of comphet who mixed up his genuine feelings of friendship with heather (I love his dynamic with heather! make them frenemies for life), who only puzzled out years after the fact that he was so hurt by Noah's words because he had a slight crush on him.

- Make him greyromantic for extra ~depth~. I make so many characters aspec and it's Alejandro's term. I think being greyromantic, which is an arospec umbrella identity, often involves the experience of finding it difficult to distinguish between platonic and romantic attraction. I learn towards greyromantic over demi because I want to develop alenoah over the course of ~1 day and that works with greyromanticism but not demi.

- Heather is a lesbian and played him. They're cool.

- He is a paleontology professor (because the idea of him studying paleontology in Amicus Curie just makes sense - you can thank that fic for the background courtemma, too). I think it fits him well! He's a charismatic intelligent guy who just really likes dinosaurs because he's lowkey a nerd.

- I think he is estranged from his parents and José and has become really close with Carlos as an adult, which isn't exactly an unusual headcanon. He is linked to Emma through Carlos' marriage to her dad's sister and is basically another uncle to Emma and was never a fan of Chase nor really talked about his time on Total Drama, but he has come into his own as a gay man by the time the reboot rolls around.

anyway. alejandro burromuerto is a fascinating character and I want to unravel him. I personally see him as Peruvian.

So what about the leading men? How do you think they would get on with each other? Honestly I'm interested in any and all your cross-universe opinions: heroine/leading man friendships, between the older gents and ladies...

Follow-up to the female version. I find the men harder. And again, I think the heroes would all basically get along because they are all decent people with similar worldviews.

Best Friends:

Charles Bingley & Everyone, this man is friends with Darcy pre-reformation, enough said. Also, him and Sir John Middleton & Charles Musgrove have a special bond and magnificent house parties.

Henry Crawford & Everyone... at first. Then they start to realize what he's really like (except Edmund, takes him longer)

Tom Bertram, Frank Churchill & John Willoughby, disaster pairing

Colonel Brandon & Captain Wentworth, bond over their mutual time in the military. They are also both hopeless romantics. They get drunk and cry one evening about Eliza 1 and how Wentworth should have written Anne sooner.

Fitzwilliam Darcy & Henry Tilney, Henry is the male version of Elizabeth, so obviously Darcy has to bring him home and show his wife.

George Knightley & Fitzwilliam Darcy, Darcy reminds Knightley of Emma, but they mostly bond over estate management.

Henry Tilney, Edmund Bertram, Charles Hayter, and Edward Ferrars, the country clergyman club, Mr. Collins is not invited.

Mentor/Mentee:

Mr. Knightley & Edmund Bertram, Edmund really needs some life advice from someone older and not his father. And we know he won't listen to women, so I hope he'll listen to Knightley.

Captain Wentworth & Lt. William Price, best captain ever!

Henry Tilney & Edward Ferrars, Edward wants some advice on being a clergyman but they also bond over having shitty families.

Bonus: Sir Thomas Bertram & Sir Walter Elliot are both in parliament, they hate each other.

I don't think Henry Tilney would be anyone's mentor except Edward Ferrars, because he's either the same age or younger than most of them. He is the eldest of the country preachers but not by a whole lot. But Edmund is bad at advice taking... All of them should take his advice on flirting but they won't.

“Who is included on this list?” We started with 64 opponents readied their duelling pistols to defend their own hotness but only 8 remain! I included men from Pride and Prejudice 1940/1995/2005, Sense and Sensibility 1971/1995/2008, Emma 1996/1996/2009/2020, Northanger Abbey 2007, Persuasion 1995/2007/2022 and Mansfield Park 1983/ 1999/2007 as well as a couple from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, one from Sanditon and one from Love and Friendship/Lady Susan. Most are the main hero/anti-heroes but there are a few others scattered in too.

Have you included Spin Offs ?”  The only strictly none Jane Austen adaptation I've included men from is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because it is set in the correct time period, the characters are basically the same in terms of personality and I thought the casting was great! In terms of Sandition, Sidney Parker is the only man I have entered as he is mentioned in the book as well as the TV so sadly as much as I love the other Sanditon Men they aren't included!

WHy is the propaganda so uneven on this poll? To stay impartial I only add propaganda to the main poll that has been sent in before each round's polls open. If you submit any after then I will reblog or post and add to the winner's propaganda in the next poll. If it's uneven it's because you never sent any in, not because I'm being biased.

Honesty time 😳 the bar is in hell for season 2 I knew not to have any expectations but I just I’m not fucking with it and it’s only eight episodes. I was hoping rhaenicent would die but unfortunately you weirdos are getting fed 🥴 and I hope this “love” that Alicent apparently has for rhaenyra I hope it’s one sided after everything that’s happened to still believe there is love or friendship between them is a fucking joke. Speaking from rhaenyras pov “you have one son sitting on my throne and your other son just murdered my child but sure let’s be besties” bffr you guys. And to have rhaenyra question daemons loyalty. DAEMON out of all people. When one of his redeeming qualities is the love and support he has for his family. I need some new writers in that room asap. They have made it pretty clear they want to villainize daemon in anyway they can I knew there was going to be angst between him and rhaenyra but to ask the person that literally crowned you is crazy. It’s basically been confirmed this show is a whole new story and it’s really weird to me that GRRM is allowing for all these changes and letting these characters be butchered I thought him stepping in for the writing in season 2 he would go back to the actual story that HE wrote but oh well. That promo with Olivia Cooke and Emma D’arcy makes you forget this is a war between rhaenyra and Aegon which is really annoying. You can’t expect people to understand this is a tragic story about the fall of a house due to misogyny when you have two women fighting against each other but hey that’s just my opinion. I feel Emma will act their ass off and just make me completely emotionally unstable. Can we talk about how much of a pretty boi Jace looks I see why people keep calling him !book Jon snow
