Saint John the Baptist

So here it is! My piece for the Far Cry 5 Zine @leavenopathuntaken organized. Just in time to post it during the Far Cry 5 Week!

Inspired by a painting also called Saint John the Baptist, a work by Titian that you can find at the Prado Museum in Madrid. The posture is reversed to match John’s mannerisms in-game and that theory that he’s actually left-handed.

Richard "Dutch" Roosevelt prepared for the end of the world almost all his life. After his family left him scared by his obsession, Dutch completely shut off himself in his own island’s bunker. Former military always was in conflict with local authorities  distrusted government and had info about almost everone in the County. Nobody knows exactly what’s going on in his cunning and sharp mind and where all those ideas came from. One thing was clear, though the Collapse community of preppers he had formed had nothing to do with religion, it looked like a dangerous and well equipped cult.

Jessica Black, Dutch’s niece also known as Huntress was wild and very cruel for her young age, even sadistic. Jess was raised by her Granny, a hard-core prepper and survivalist, so she supported Dutch from the very beginning. Her knife was always covered in blood as she hunted down the ones who dared to resist Dutch and tortured them.

Eli Palmer lost it after his son died and his wife left him, he had no purpose in life until Dutch reached out and convinced him to use his military and engineering skills for the good of the community. Eli was constructing bunkers and formed Doomsday militia where he trained preppers with the help of his right hand  Wheaty.

Jerome Jeffries, a Gulf War veteran and former marine was friends with Dutch for 15 years and used his position as local Catholic priest to persuade his congregation to follow Collapse preppers. Pastor Jerome was ready to sacrifice anything to save his only daughter  “ ..for the Lord will execute judgment by fire and by His sword on all flesh, and those slain by the Lord will be many”.

Almost whole Hope County was under Dutch’s control. Until one day newcomers arrived -  the Seed family...

        Hello, all! Welcome to the planning stages of Far Cry 5 Week, 2019!

We’re setting aside the week of September 22 - 28 for 7 days of celebrating such a phenomenal game and its community!

We welcome writing, art, GIFs, edits, screencaps/screenshots, videos, boards, collages, etc. - anything you wish to contribute towards the celebration!

Each day will have a general theme that you can use as a springboard for contributions. They are as follows:

Day 1 (Sept. 22): Hope County - Herald regions, locations, story missions, side missions Day 2 (Sept. 23): The Project at Eden’s Gate - The Seeds, Peggies, The Project Day 3 (Sept. 24): The Resistance - Guns/Fangs for Hire, Resistance leaders, NPCs Day 4 (Sept. 25): The Hope County Sheriff’s Department - Deputy Hudson, Deputy Pratt, Sheriff Whitehorse, Marshal Burke, the Sheriff’s Dept. as a whole Day 5 (Sept. 26): In the Forest Hides A Light (OC Day) - The Junior Deputy, Peggie OCs, GFH OCs, NPC OCs Day 6 (Sept. 27): Now That This Old World is Ending (The Music) - The score, the Project’s songs, the licensed soundtrack, lyrics Day 7 (Sept. 28): When the Morning Light Shines In (Positivity/Free Day) - Fandom positivity and love! Free day for any other contributions!

We will track the hashtags #FC5Week and #FC5Week2019 so that we can feature your creations here!

A few general rules:

- There is no limit on the amount of entries you want to put forward for each day! Make as much as you like and share them with the community! - Similarly, don’t feel pressured to have to put something forth each day! Even if you only feel the energy or drive to create a single piece, we will be happy and honored to have you share it with us! - Late submissions are accepted and welcomed! Don’t feel pressured to make any deadlines that are impossible or stressful!  - Be courteous and respectful in what you put forward and towards others  - N/S/F/W content is allowed and encouraged - Be sure to properly tag anything you post that might require viewer discretion

We’ll be posting more thorough outlines for each individual day, as well as reminders in the coming weeks leading up to the event in preparation for it! Have fun creating and we hope to see and share in your work! ❤️
