Keyla Monterroso Mejia, who stars as Gloria in Freeridge, shares moments and memories with the cast, and some impulse buys.

My incredibly talented costar Ciara Riley Wilson made a custom Guess Who board game that only had people from our cast and crew. In this video we are playing and losing, and for some reason it was hilarious to us. Michael Solomon caught it on video and it’s one of my favorite moments, and the bonus is you can see Zaire in the background just completely knocked out.

This next picture I forgot about it until I started scrolling, but it’s a picture of my costar Tenzing. One night, the cast went to dinner and we realized Tenzing looked like a character from the movie “Horton Hears a Who”. We had to pull up the evidence and so now, we have this picture.

This is a picture of an impulse buy – it’s a pepper spray that I bought on Amazon for like $25 dollars. All the girlies on Tik Tok told me to get one so I did, and I don’t regret it. I feel safer just having it on me even though I’ve never used it.

This is also another impulse buy. It’s a picture of a couch I bought on Offer Up and the person selling it just so happen to live around the corner from me. Unfortunately, the couch did not fit inside my car so my brother offered to carry it home and I thought it was so funny so I took a photo.

Your lover's dark eyes looked at you for a few seconds before he frowned “Don't start this shit again.” The anger about the same situation started to boil within you, so you got off of Oscar and laid on your back. “What is your problem?” you spat at him. The sudden tension in the room was obvious. He suddenly sat on the edge of your bed and gave you an intimidating look over his right. “I don't think we're close enough to have this kind of conversation!” “Wow.” You didn't know how else to react. He was obviously refering to the fact that you weren't sure how to label your 'thing'. You cared, a lot. But he was part of a gang and you cared too much about other people's opinions too. “I think you should go home. ”you let out bluntly without thinking. He turned his head away from you and let out a dry laugh “You know.... I fucking might!” and stormed off. ***

How come when I love somebody, part of me don't wanna stay? Oscar picked up after a while, but did not say anything. You could just see the seconds of the phonecall on your screen. “Can you pick me up?” you asked carefully. You could hear him sigh into the phone. “Where are you?” *** It took about 20 minutes until you could see the familiar red car pull into the street. You slowly got up and neared yourself the sidewalk. The car came to stand right in front of you, but before you even had the chance to get in, your lover already got out. He stood right in front of you and looked deep into your eyes. “You're in my head.” you said while pointing to your temple. The alcohol was definitely kicking. His eyes softened and you felt like there was a slight smile on his lips. He took your hand in his and placed a soft kiss on it “Get in the car, Y/N. ” You continued to stare into his eyes. “I want everyone to know about us. ” His face seemed to light up a bit. He pulled you in and kissed your forehead before whispering in your ear “Get in babe, we'll talk about it tomorrow.”

Show & Tell Spotlight: Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Freeridge

Tenzing, who plays Cameron in Freeridge, shares what he stole from set, and memories of the cast.

This is something I stole from set. It’s my chair back throughout all of shooting. The props department was kind enough to keep it a secret while I snuck away with it.

This is a video of one of my many pranks on set. I literally went to set that day when I wasn’t even working and camped in Keyla’s trailer for 30 minutes waiting just for this.

This is a photo of us during a late night shoot getting in one of many small naps between camera moves.

This is a photo of all of the cast in Palm Springs one day after we wrapped Freeridge. We rented an AirBnb for three nights and one night we went out to dinner to celebrate our show!

Honestly wasn't as bad as I excepted. The show itself was all over the place and was most definitely RUSHED (like extremely). However, I do kinda want a szn 2 since I feel it does have potential. It just needs to work on building the plot.

Opinions on it

The bi reputation shown in the show was just 💕. I was highkey cheering on Cam and Andre but I can still see them having a chance in szn 2 (if that come to be). I feel like now since Andre sees how he’s been he might be less clingy this time around? Demi and Cam felt so random if you ask me. They would’ve been so much better/cuter if their characters were thought out more (relationship rise, apart I literally love them) The way they just casually broke up a relationship outa no where had me CRYING 😭. Which is one thing I feel was very rushed but that’s for later.

Ines was so annoying. I felt bad for her sometimes but you have to admit she was acting like a baby.

Characters

Cam - I honestly loved him. He was my fav out of them all. He was so quirky and adorable, not to mention his fashion kinda ate (apart from the pants and socks 🌚)

Demi - She def seemed like a vibe. The way she kissed him while he was admitting everything was def not cute tho.

Gloria- I don’t know how to feel abt her. She didn’t really make me love her nor hate her. I’ll love to see more of her in szn 2. Her and the other dude was really cute tho 😍

Ines - She pissed me off. I understand wht she was coming from abt being treated like a baby all the time but can you blame Gloria? She was acting like one the whole mf time. She had her moments when I liked her tho.

Andre - Vibe. Deserved better. Still think him and cam would’ve been cuter together 🤷🏾

All in all, i liked it and wouldn’t mind watching it again. Ok, that’s it 😍🫶🏾

TOP 10 TV SHOWS I WATCHED IN 2023

1. GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES

this prequel to grease tells the story of how the “pink ladies” gang was created. it follows new original characters, although the younger versions of some movie characters are also shown/mentioned. it is a beautiful musical about feminism, love, friendship, racial relationships and queerness in the 50s. the songs stuck in my head & my heart. and it quickly became one of my favorite shows ever. incredibly devastating that it only got one season, because it was very unique and important.

2. FREERIDGE

on my block’s spin-off. it’s just as unhinged, dripped in magic and ridiculousness. less violent than its predecessor, it follows a group of four friends who come into possession of a “cursed” box, and as they try to get rid of it, shenanigans ensue. you’ll see a few familiar faces from omb and fall in love with the new ones. experience this block’s craziness again or for the first time. be gnomes ahead.

3. EVERYTHING NOW

tells the story of mia as she returns from rehab for ed, and tries to catch up on her teenage experiences. secret hookups, betrayals, love triangles, lying and pretty people. similar in tone to heartbreak high & genera+ion.

4. VAMPIRE ACADEMY

it’s about a royal vampire and her half-vampire protector, as they navigate their duties after a tragic event changes their lives.

rose and demitri’s love story certainly carries the show. the cast is great and it’s a fun watch. definitely a step up from the movie.

5. SHRINKING

jason segel plays a therapist who starts telling his patients what he really thinks, while trying to maintain a relationship with his daughter (lukita maxwell) and estranged friends.

it just felt very fun and warm to watch.

6. CITY ON FIRE

a girl is shot in the central park. and it intertwines lives of a boy who’s in love with her, a rock band and a rich powerful family. in trying to figure out what happened to sam, charlie realizes the girl of his dreams had more secrets than he suspected.

the cast is perfect and billy is the best character, that’s all i have to say. this show’s exciting, dramatic, in parts reminded me of gossip girl, succession, 13rw and grand army.

7. HIGH SCHOOL

twin sisters in the 90s grow closer as they learn how to write music. they experience first love, make new friends and deal with family issues.

the true story of how tegan&sara became the musical duo that they are.

8. HARLAN COBEN’S SHELTER

after a traumatic accident mickey moves to his dad’s childhood home, where he uncovers mysteries connected to his parents’ work.

reminded me of teen wolf, because the storyline is dark but the friendship and humor of the main characters shine through.

9. YEAR OF

a group of classmates try to overcome the loss of their friend. heartbreak high made me interested in aussie shows. and this had similar energy.

10. QUEEN CHARLOTTE

a fictional story of a young queen’s marriage to the king of england. bridgerton’s spin off which imo was better made than the original show.
