OK OK, I love enotional/uncontrolled size shifters as much as the next person, but what about highly skilled size shifters?

Trying my best to figure out what these guys look like in my head before I go look at the fandom’s generalized designs for the characters.
A friend of my twin got us into the show and a week later we’re at season 8!
I definitely need to tweak Cole’s design a lot- I want him to have a more strongman build & revamp his entire face design. But at the very least I’m happy with getting his hair the way I want!
Kinda hard to see, but Zane’s got little screws for earrings! I honestly didn’t account for how much older the faceplate would make him look, I intended him to look way more boyish.
Rambling about my current HCs of the Ninja’s appearances below:
I’ve been having a bit of an trouble deciding what various flavor of Chinese & Japanese these dudes should be based on. Considering the show is based on a 2010s vague idea of “Asia” and carries traits of both Japanese & Chinese influence, I’m just going to use both. I don’t know what sorta general consensus the fandom has of their appearances bc I have barely interacted with the fandom, so if this violently contrasts with that then yippee I have original thoughts, I guess.
-Kai is Japanese. Kai, being vain and caring more about training than Jay for example, has a more aesthetic build that’s definitely form more than function. Like a natty powerlifter who’s not competing. I’m not sure what height he should be, but if he’s taller his muscle definition would appear smaller so I’ll have to keep that in mind.
- Nya has initially a more functional build- far less muscle definition than her brother. Not outwardly buff and doesn’t have pronounced muscles, but can fairly easily haul a 100lb hunk of metal from a scrap pile to her workbench. But after becoming the water ninja, her new training gives her more pronounced muscle definition. Initially shorter than Kai but grows taller as the show goes on.
- Cole is southern Chinese. He’s got a strongman heavy set build. I envision him as fairly short so his muscles can be a little more pronounced. If you stripped his muscle definition from his ninja training away, I still want him to look like one of assholes who haven’t worked out a day in their lives but still somehow looks jacked.
- Zane is what pops up when you look up “Chinese teen male stock photo” because he needs to look like The Most Generic person ever. No muscle definition at all on this dude. He’s a nindroid & so there’s no need to include muscle decision to show that he’s strong. He’s either average height or slightly on the shorter side bc gravity is a bitch and the taller make a humanoid robot, the more balance becomes a bitch to deal with. So average height or short Zane it is.
- Jay is Uyghur so I can get this dude his reddish-brown hair. Minor muscle definition. His isn’t for aesthetics like Kai, he’d rather do ninja training than do the types of sets & pushing to failure needed to achieve more pronounced muscle definition for aesthetic lifting. Jay needs to be shorter than Nya. He’s definitely taller than Cole but I need him to be just an inch shorter than Nya because that’s funny to me personally.
- Lloyd is Japanese. Solely because Oni come from Japan & I got spoilered that Gargamon is an Oni later. Lloyd is a stringy ass kid at first & has no muscle definition at all. During his Green Ninja training before the Travelers Tea, he’d be trained for efficiency & not for aesthetics with the deadline of him fighting his father possibly being around any corner. After Travelers Tea he likely kept his training to function over aesthetics and would share similar muscular definition to Jay & Nya. And he’s tall. His dad is tall as shit with 4 arms. I want this kid to go through the Worst gangly teen era anyones ever seen and only barely fit his form once he finishes growing.

And as a big comic nerd who owns around 800+ comics (might be more around 1000 now?), hoo boy I have so many thoughts on Lloyd and Jay liking Starfarer. I cannot wait to make a fic that’s just Lloyd and Jay ganging up against Kai over some incredibly wrong take of the comic he absentmindedly said and trapping him in a 3 hour long conversation about frequent mischaracterization and mishandling of the characters in Starfarer & how what Kai said was wrong. I just need a fic of Jay and Lloyd talking to each other about their favorite runs of Starfarer and complaining about a tie-in/crossover comic that’s written particularly bad, or complaining how an author completely misunderstood Fitz Donnegan or complaining over an author change & etc. I just need to make a fic of these boys talking about average comic book fan things.

hey there! first time asking and i am.. pretty nervous :') not sure how nightmare's body works for your au, but how would the boys™ react if nightmare was somehow weakened enough to have his passive body revealed under all the corruption and not die? (or yes die, if that's what you're about lol) thanks!
Awww don't be nervous! I don't bite.
Nightmare's body is largely permanently colored by the corruption, but it can weaken, and he's still a (mostly) complete, white-boned skeleton under it.
Without active corruption, Nightmare is around 5'6" (or your height) and has some damage around his right eye socket. The light still forms, but his vision isn't so great. (Still a far cry better than 'normal,' where he can't see at all). His eyelight in that socket is purple, and the one in his left is cyan, no matter what form he's in. Sometimes it'll be half-and-half, if he's especially weak or in his feelings, but he's usually got the full heterochromia thing going on.
Fortunately, it just kind of retreats into the inner void of his body/skull if it's too weak to fully encase him, so it's all or nothing with the curse/corruption. It won't kill him, but he is much more vulnerable when he's passive.
The guys would be surprised, to say the least, but they'd also make the (correct) assumption that he's not as sturdy as he usually is and should be guarded. Nightmare definitely tried to hide this, but with a bunch of intuitive, smart underlings, it's hard to maintain the illusion that 'everything's fine, I'm just going to stay in bed for a while.'
Still, no one's going to lose respect for him, or make fun of him (in any seriousness-- we all know Killer is Required By Law to give him some guff) in any real capacity. He'd get a little babied, actually, until he told them all to knock it off, and then it's only Axe who babies him. (He can't get Axe to stop.)
Everyone is sworn to secrecy, because he especially does not need Dream finding out about this. He'd never stop crying, and Nightmare doesn't want to deal with that, thank you very much.
This does happen every great so often, especially after things get reconciled with his brother. Without active malice and hatred to feed on, the corruption kind of ebbs away and 'rests' to regain strength, and then it comes back strong as ever. He's actually quite strong when it comes back because it's refreshed, and he usually feels his oats a bit when it comes back.
It's the only aspect of the curse/corruption that he can't really control. Since he doesn't have a ton of enemies anymore, or at least ones who would be able to take advantage of such a situation, it's just a mild inconvenience rather than a cause for alarm.
More little facts about this:
He sounds different while passive. If he tries really hard, he can get into his normal, deeper register, but it takes a bit. He sounds a lot younger (still an adult, but younger and higher) and gets a little bit sensitive about it, actually.
He's also sensitive about his height. He loses 8 inches or better, and he doesn't like it. Yes, he wears platforms to make himself at least taller than the others (save Axe) if he's up and about, and not sulking in his room.
He views it as an inconvenience, but he hates feeling vulnerable. He's worn the corruption so long, to not have it makes him feel naked, and it's not something he handles terribly well.
He's also more sensitive to: temperature, touch, elements, and Intent. He gets cold easily, so he's usually close to some heat source. This sometimes includes the boys, and they have cuddle-puddled to make him feel safer.
He will break out his crown and wear it. It's a newer one-- his old crown won't fit because it didn't grow with him. he wears a silver crown with a more elegant crescent moon fixture (not entirely unlike this, but solid and without decoration) with a three-quarter moon taking up the void of the crescent, leaving a small gap between the two. He also wears much less gold and much more silver, although he does wear gold with purple, since it's very regal looking.
Hand-in-hand with the above, he breaks out good fancy clothing, too, since he's not in danger of staining it, and it feels nice on not-corrupted bones. Silk, satin, velvet... very fine clothing.
He also wears a weighted cape. While he doesn't always have his tentacles out, he will over-correct for their weight when they aren't present, and he's fallen over before when turning because of it. (After Killer was done laughing, he helped devise the cape.) It's a lovely little capelet that hangs over one shoulder, but drapes otherwise evenly across the back to the small of his back.
He's usually passive for 1-2 weeks, and then it won't happen again for a couple years, if he's lucky, or 10-12 months if he's not. This only started happening once Dream broke out of the statue, so while it's a fairly new development, it's one that he's learned to deal with and has procedures for.
I mentioned it before with Dream in R&R, but his bones have kind of a pearlescent sheen to them. Dream's is warmer (like a cream pearl), but Nightmare's is cooler (like a silver pearl). They're both Demi-gods, after all.
Interestingly enough, I've been working with this idea recently.

Hello! I'm super late to the aot and aruani train (having just binged the entire show start to finish like 2 months ago over 4 days lmao) but I just gotta say that I really enjoyed your Fort Salta series! Annie and Armin were legit my favourites already during my first watch of the anime, and it really saddened me to know that it seems alot of people online really hate Annie? Like (no hate on any other characters) but Annie is legit best girl how tf can people hate on her ;-; Anyways, I've been ecstatic since I've found your fics and blog along with many others (shoutout to distortedclouds and flailingkittylover too!!) bc it felt like I finally found my people - good to know I'm not the only one brain-rotting from this show and especially over these two xD
I've been dying to talk to someone about this recent discovery of mine since I've started reading the manga though...did you know that Armin has been taller than Annie since even before she was crystalized?? In the anime he's like the shortest person pre-timeskip beside Historia, but turns out it's not the case in the manga! In volume 8 when Armin confronts Annie in Stohess, he's clearly drawn to be slightly taller than her in the scene - I thought it was just a perspective error, but it's drawn that way over multiple pages so it's definitely intended! Makes the whole height/size difference thing even more adorable omg ;-;

I agree that while it's very sad seeing the Annie haters, it's best to ignore them. They may have their reasons or not (tho tbh, those of us in the Annie/AruAni fandom would say they just have a very poor or nil understanding of her character). Annie's an extremely well written character honestly; @distortedclouds and I once had this conversation where she was talking about how Isayama managed to give Annie flawless character development in spite of portraying her as the non-typical badass female (in that she doesn't have huge, heroic ambitions and etc) - and I agreed wholeheartedly. Annie's very strong and lethal, but in her vulnerability and desire to be loved and wanted, I think we can all see a bit of ourselves.
Wait I digressed xD My point: Annie's best girl, and we stay away from the haters and stick to worshipping her. Strengthening the Temple of Annie Leonhardt must be our ultimate goal.
I would go on a rant about Armin too being the best, bestest, bestestest boy, and of our other goal of strengthening the Temple of Armin Arlert, but that is for another post, maybe xD
Regarding the height difference! I believe it's an established fact that Armin has always been taller than Annie, right from the beginning. If I remember right, the official Character Guidebook (2014) which was based on the first 11 volumes of the manga, listed Armin as 163cms while Annie was 153. While he's one of the shortest among the boys in general (and post-timeskip he's taller than Levi), he's been at least a whole head taller than Annie ever since they joined the military. Post timeskip, he's 169cms while Annie remains apparently unchanged, so the gap is larger, and likely to grow an inch or two more (since he's only 19). Anyway, yes it's fucking cute, and don't get me started on the size difference 🫠🫠🫠

I genuinely don't know what happened - I was very busy over Christmas and then uni deadlines caught up on me - and I've been working on so many things that I'm just screaming into the void at this point. I'm glad I could finish this chapter, though!!! I love this fic so much!

Whatever scheme Janus and the others had gotten up to had been almost pushed out of his mind by the time it actually came to involve him.
Almost, because he hadn’t quite been able to stop thinking about the ‘yet’ surrounding his own involvement in the plan whenever he’d had a free second. But they’d spent enough time talking back to assholes at the Hellp desk - and at a good few hours of therapy sessions with Emile that had been mostly productive - to mostly put it out of their mind. For the most part.
Once a week had passed since Janus and Angel had headed into Hell giggling about who knows what, Virgil started wondering if he really would be involved in this plan at all.

Barely even the day after Virgil had thought that, he was introduced to the most beautiful person he’d ever seen.
Well, introduced is a strong word.
He noticed the guy across the lobby - stood in the entrance to the tunnel that leads down to the residential levels of Hell. Remus was with him, it looked like he was trying to coax the pretty stranger to come further into the lobby, but when Virgil met his eyes - deep pools of molten gold that almost seemed to glow and make Virgil feel like his bones were melting but somehow in a good way? - the stranger ran. Well - good to know he was apparently scary to the pretty demon. What a great confidence boost. Virgil sighed - just as Remus seemed to across the hall - and Lily gently patted his shoulder in consolidation.
“He’s shy,” She said by way of explanation, Virgil just sighed again.

“Oh Virgil!” Angel practically sang from the other end of the desk a few days later, “Can you do the coffee run alone today? Ruggy’s having a bit of a crisis over here-”
Ruggy rolled her eyes - Virgil wasn’t sure she was actually having a crisis, but it wasn’t their place to judge.
“Sure, uh - can everyone write down their orders? I probably won't remember them alone.” Virgil said, standing up, Angel giggled and handed him a piece of paper that already had all the orders written down on it in multiple different handwritings, he frowned, okay - so they had planned this. What was going on?
“You’re all grown up now,” Lily chuckled, probably misinterpreting his frown, “You’ve got this!”
“...Grown up?” Virgil looked at her confused, as far as he was aware, he hadn’t changed since he got here.
“Wait, did you not know?” Angel gasped, standing up again.
“Virgie you’re like two inches taller than you were before,” Sharkie pointed out, glaring at him - for growing? Which he’d apparently done at some point without his own notice - but didn’t Lily say…
“You’re settling in, kid!” Bel told him, ruffling his hair with a heavy hand that made Vrgil laugh and shove him away…. Maybe those therapy sessions were helping more than they thought? “Now go get that coffee!”

The coffee shop wasn’t busy when Virgil went in, which they thanked the universe for as they nervously handed over the list of eleven wildly different coffee orders, not even realising there was an extra one - and then asked for his own too. He thought belatedly that he wasn’t sure how he would carry them all back to the desk.
He stared blankly at the three cup holders full of various drinks and two paper bags of snacks that the barista put on the counter. He once again thanks the universe that the coffee shop is fairly empty as the barista looks at him sympathetically.
“Could no-one else on the desk come down today?” She asked, “If I wasn’t halfway through my shift I’d offer to help you take them down myself…”
“That’s okay,” Virgil waved her off, moving everything to the side so that if someone else wanted to order, they could, before sighing and putting a hand on his hip, trying to figure this out.
“Hey cutie, need some help there?” Someone asked from behind him with a voice smooth as butter in a tone that had Virgil blushing - even more so at the nickname. He turned and found himself face to face - more like face to chest, whatever did this guy get from being so tall? With the extremely pretty demon who he’d seen across the lobby in Hell just a few days earlier.
“Ha-h-hi?” Virgil stammered, feeling his train of thought screech to a halt as he looked up at the demon’s face. His sparkling golden eyes seemed to look straight through Virgil’s pale foundation to his hot blushing face - almost as red as the demon’s skin. From this close he could see bright golden freckles littering his skin like tiny stars, and Virgil could see a lot of his skin too - he wore just as little clothing as Remus did. His heart-tipped tail thrashed behind him - in a way Virgil thought seemed almost nervous, but that couldn’t be right. Smiling, the stranger picked up two of the three cup holders after putting one of the bags of pastries and cakes into the satchel he carried around his waist, an action which totally didn’t draw his eyes to somewhere where they were not supposed to be drawn - he thought he might combust with how much he was blushing as he forced himself to meet the stranger’s eyes again.
“I see I’ve rendered you speechless,” he said, grinning to show pointed fangs - unlike Remus’ full mouth of shark-like sharp teeth, but still dangerous looking in a way that didn’t scare him, “My apologies, but I simply couldn’t leave a cutie like you to struggle after I saw you in distress.”
“I- wha- you-” Virgil stumbled to start too many sentences at once, not sure what he was even trying to say. The demon chuckled, putting his hand on his hip.
“Like what you see, sweetie?” He asked, tilting his head just a little. Virgil choked and covered his face, equal parts embarrassed and flustered by the callout.
“‘M sorry,” Virgil mumbled, trying to get his words back as his face attempted to cool down a little - but a look up to see the demon was still smiling at him just brought it back tenfold.
“What are you sorry for?” There was a hint of genuine confusion in the demon’s voice despite his smile, he tilted his head.
“I was- I was staring? That’s- rude?” Virgil said, now also confused - wasn’t he offended by Virgil blatantly looking at him?
“I’m an incubus, darling, I’m used to it,” he reassured, ruffling Virgil’s hair - someone needs to explain why that feels nice because it did even though Virgil ducked and tried to bat his hand away with a squawk of surprise that made the demon laugh, “As long as you aren’t scared of me - and hey, I was flirting with you, I dug my own grave just a little, what’s your name cutie? My brother just calls you ‘emo’.”
“Wait- you’re Remus’ brother?” Virgil perked up to ask, before immediately getting flustered again as a grin split across his face.
“That’s me,” he grinned, putting down the cup holders and offering his hand for a handshake - his claw-like nails were red but tipped with gold like he’d dipped them in glittering paint, “My name’s Roman.”
“I- ah - I’m uh- Virgil…” Virgil mumbled awkwardly, tentatively taking Roman’s hand to shake only to have their hand grasped tightly and shaken with enthusiasm. Roman’s hand was so warm.
“Virgil? What a lovely name you have,” Roman said, bringing Virgil’s hand - which he was still holding - up to his lips to kiss, making Virgil blush a brilliant crimson, “You look like a sunrise, darling.”
Virgil could only cough and bow their head as Roman continued, “Pretty pink cheeks and lovely purple hair, hm, oh and your eyes are such a lovely blue, like the early morning sky, how perfect.”
“Oh- shut up,” Virgil mumbled, covering their face with his other hand - the one Roman wasn’t still holding, “Are you gonna help me carry coffee or not?”
Bursting out into boisterous laughter, Roman let go of his hand and picked everything back up. Virgil quickly took the others and thanked the barista - who winked knowingly at him for some reason - and began leading the way back down towards Hell. Many people stopped to stare as they walked, most of them at Roman, who’s tail had wrapped itself around his leg almost as soon as they’d stepped out of the coffee shop. Virgil couldn’t help but notice through quick sneaky glances that Roman didn’t seem half as confident out here in the universal hallway as he had been back in the coffee shop. Virgil debated asking why for a moment, deciding not to pray until they neared the gates of hell and Roman started to hide behind them.
“Hey Roman?” Virgil said, glancing back at him, the demon perked up - as if Virgil’s attention alone had made him feel better, “Are uh- are you good? I mean- are you okay? You look more nervous than me …”
“Hm? What? No - I’m fine, totally fine,” Roman waved him off with a smile that was much faker than the ones he’d given in the coffee shop, “Why would I not be okay?”
Raising an eyebrow, Virgil looks him over, Roman’s smile slowly drops into an apprehensive expression, “Your tail is wrapped around your leg, your hands are shaking, you’re fidgeting with your claws, you’re trying to hide behind me…”
“Okay okay,” Roman put his hands up, seeming embarrassed, “I’m- I don’t really like being in the lobby of Hell, that’s all.”
Virgil tilted his head, “What - do you know what the problem itself is? Maybe I can help?” He understood anxiety pretty well after all, he hoped he could help.
“Oh it’s really nothing - it’s just - the way some of the souls look at me? It just bothers me, sometimes.”
Virgil frowns, “But- you said that me looking at you didn’t bother you?” they asked, suddenly worried he had actually upset Roman even though he’d said he wasn’t - but Roman shook his head quickly.
“It’s not the same kind of looking,” Roman said, before hiding his face with a hand when one lady from the main like glared at them, Virgil found himself giving her a fierce look in response - what had driven such protectiveness he would probably never know - but now he understood, at least a little.
Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, that was an issue Virgil was very familiar with - and he could imagine Roman got it a lot worse, considering the way he dressed and the kind of people they got at the desk. He hummed, “Hold on a second - I can- it might help…”
It was a balancing act as Virgil shrugged off his jacket without spilling or dropping anything, Roman watched in surprise as Virgil offered the jacket to him, “It’s uh- it always helps me, when I’m anxious, and it stops people from looking too hard.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Roman shifted the things he was holding and reached out to take the jacket. Where it was far too big on Virgil, it actually fit Roman a lot better, he even pulled the hood up as far as he could with his horns and covered his hands with the sleeves and gave Virgil a small smile.
“Thank you,” Roman said, Virgil noticed his tail slowly uncurling from around his leg to sway side-to-side as it had been back in the coffee shop, “This is- your jacket is very cozy.”
Virgil smiled, “Yeah? I’m glad,” it was strange - it had almost become a habit to let people borrow his jacket when they were more anxious than him - it seemed he was able to be more confident when someone else was less. Even without his jacket, in a sleeveless plum coloured turtleneck, he found he was able to keep his head held high as he led Roman back to the Hellp desk.
“Hey Emo!” Remus yelled as he approached, “Hey RoRo! I almost didn’t recognise you, nice hoodie.”
Virgil could’ve sworn Roman’s face got redder when he quietly pointed out that the jacket was Virgil’s.

Her mum brought her along to a pub, hoping it would be safe enough, but then when Donnivan went to the bathroom, she came back to find her mother gone and a Big One crawling away down the street outside. She spent a day in shock and, after gathering her composure, started looking for food. That's her story, in so few words. I told her mine too. She doesn't recognize the weird.. rabbit hole places I went to.
Then I told her about my dream. I had it after dealing with the Rake, all the way through 'til she woke me up. A lot of the dream escapes me already, but one of the more prominent images in my mind was this.. thing where I fell into a copier, a giant planet-sized copier, and lots and lots of copies of me came out, only they weren't perfect, they were all more like snapshots of me, two-dimensional pieces that hinted at the Jordan I really am but weren't. There was some kinda dreamy implication that the snapshots would grow into their own things until they no longer resemble me (maybe until Iresemble them?), and then the dream went down the usual route of faint sensations and wordless conversations.
There was also this other part later on, where I was running to get away from some vaguely dangerous.. lab except it wasn't a lab but a maze that only superficially resembled a lab, when next thing I know I'm stepping into a black-and-white corridor of doors and out of one at the far end steps a taller me covered in blood, a mirror figure filled with deepest dread and unholy responsibilities. He showed up more in my dream until I finally get close enough to touch him, and I grab his face and rip it off and it's a mask and behind it was my dad.
And that was that. It stuck in my mind, I dunno.

I didn't do much in terms of songwriting when we started, hell I couldn't write at all, not in English. But after a while, sometime after we released Summer Sucks, all that came to a halt when my father died. No, rather my self-destructive tendencies went overboard, and I'm lucky I didn't do anything serious to myself or to others. What made it then come to a halt was when the lawyer told me my father had had a massive stack of personal notebooks hidden away this whole time, that his last will and testament was that I would be given them as one last gift to his only son. I cut off all contact with the band. I went into complete seclusion, in fact, for several weeks as I read through them. These journals here are pretty unrelated to them, but something about the whole thing brought that memory back to my mind.")

Monster AU heights cause I wanted to
some world-building I feel need to be out there. mostly just the heights of the characters. this will help with some other stuff later.
The heights of monsters vary drastically but the average at NCR is 6'5".
apparently average in real life is 5'6. So ill just add another foot or two to the characters.
Heartslabyul
Riddle: in-game Riddle is 5'2" but in this AU he is a whopping 6"0. still below average though...
OB Riddle: with his tail added on he can be his normal height, but the tail is a good 6 extra feet long behind him. During the fight, he is closer to 6'7 since he would be somewhat on his coils and ready to strike.
Trey: in-game, trey is 5'9". honestly thought he was like 6ft. thought he was a tall boy. Anyway in this AU he's now 6'9". tall master chief!
Cater: in-game, Cater is a close to average 5'7". So now this superstar is a good 6'7".
Deuce: in-game, Deuce is about 5'7". the sweatheart in the AU is a nice 6'6" he slouches often due to years of trying to act all tough and jaded.
Ace: in-game, Ace is 5'6" an inch shorter than deuce, bet he's mad about it too. monster AU ace is actually only 6'3. he floats a lot so usually he isn't on his own feet for you to be able to tell how much shorter he is in the dorm, still taller than riddle though.
Savanaclaw
Leona: in-game, Leona is 6'1" but in this AU he has a whole new lower body that adds 2-3 feet. So he suddenly becomes 7'8" here.
OB Leona: with each overblot, the character is slightly warped. Growing usually an extra foot andong with some extra clothes/inky additions. So Leona becomes a horrifying 8'0". a humungous monster of ink and sand.
Ruggie: in-game, Ruggie is 5'6" but with how much he slouches and bounces around he propaly looks closer to 5'4". anyway in the AU he is a speckled, 6'6" trickster.
Jack: in-game, Jack is 6'3"! holy heck he's so tall! so in this AU as fricken 7'3" good gosh!!
Wolf form Jack: wolves are on average about 3 ft tall and 6 feet long. so this more monstrous version of Jack's wolf form would be 4 ft tall and 7 feet long. that's one HUGE dogo.
Octavinelle
Azul: in-game, Azul is 5'7" about average apparently. In this AU he's now a 6'7", 4 armed mafia boss.
Water form: in the water Azule is HUGE, more like a kracken with like 20ft long tentacles and a 10ft tall torso. mostly hid in giant caves when bullied :( His overblot form looks the same just much much bigger. like an added 2 ft to each tentacle kinda difference. It's not much when he was already so big.
Floyd: in-game, is a horrifying 6'3" menace. So now he's even better worse at a scary 7'3".
Jade: in-game, surprisingly is an inch shorter than his twin at 6'2". Still will have that inch difference so he's now 7'2" in this monstrous AU.
Water form tweels: based more on a sea serpent kinda monster. They both honestly are pretty long in-game at like 10-11ft. so in the AU they are 20ft long from head to tail tip. Floyd is still just a tiny bit longer and he likes to brag about it.
Scarabia
Kalim: in-game, is a tiny bit below average at 5'5". as an oasis spirit he is now 6'0 as he too likes to float around cause its fun! also his legless form is 5'10 from head to wispy end.
Jamil: in-game, is just above average at 5'7". He "stands" at the average 6'5" to try and not stand out. (heh) but his tail is a good 8 feet long!
OB Jamil: gains an extra 2 feet to his tail and 1ft in "standing" height. also gains mini cobras in his ink-stained hair.
Pomefiore
Vil: in-game, is 6 feet even. So now he is a 7-foot-tall beauty. his 3 ft long tail drags behind him or is against his back like a cloak/cape. His wingspan is 8 feet long. His wings slightly extending past his hands.
Rook: in-game, is about 5'8, thats not too bad for a poetic stocker hunter. but the monster I found that fit him is unusually slim and tall so he shoots up to 7 feet tall in this AU. horrifying stocker man
Epel: in-game, is 5 fricken 1!!! he's shorter than riddle!! short king! it's not much better in this AU... he's the only one other than Ortho under 6 feet. He's 5'10 but keeps saying he's 6 foot. aint foolin no one
Epel pixy form: a special ability he REFUSES to use EVER. he can shrink down to 1ft tall with wings to get away and hide fast. only used it once and refuses to talk about it.
Ignihyde
Idia: in-game, is also 6 feet tall but man slouches and curls in on himself so much he looks like he's 5'9.
Ortho: in-game, is a child so it makes sense that he's 4'8". probably floats at 5 feet though cause he a robot. In this AU he's not much different, still taller than the average human, and can still float cause why not. he is 5'8" and floats to 6 feet.
Diasomnia
Malleus: in-game is 6'6" and like 5 inches taller than Leona, honestly think that's why Leona hates him so much. but in this version is only 2 inches taller than the liontaur. The great dragon stands an intimidating 7'10, including his horns.
Lilia: In the game, Lilia is only 5'2", a bit short but he will suto throw you like it's nothing. he also floats everywhere so usually is at the 6-foot hovering level. in the monster AU, he doesn't need to float due to the sphinx's large size. he is a surprising 7'1" monster due to his upper human half and the lower half being that of a dark sphinx with bat wings and a grey-colored belly. The sphinx body is 4 feet long and the wingspan is 20ft when fully stretched out.
silver: In-game silvers' height is 5'7". In the AU he is fairly close to an above-average human other than the small wings covering his body. His full height is 6'7", but he stands at a nice 6'6" usually due to ducking his head a bit from drowsiness.
Sebek: in-game, Sebek is another tall freshman at 6'1" with a booming voice like no other. In the AU he is a scary 7'1".
Sebek croc form: crocodiles are usually from 11-20ft long from snout to tail, so this monstrous croc is a whopping 45ft long monster! with webbed feat and a powerful tail able to break trees with a swipe of it.
Staff
Crowly: in the game, he is a stupid 6'1". not including the tophat. This bird man is now 6'9" cause his little bird legs are weird and always bent so he's shorter than if he had regular legs. deserved
Crewl: in the game, he is 6'0. monster AU crewl is 7'0" and likes to tower over his students to "train them" or whatever weird dog analogy he does.
Trein: in the game, he is 5'10. in the monster AU he is 6'10" and his baby cat, Lucius, is a bit more monstrous as well and is 1'8" tall and 3 ft long fluffball.
Vargas: in the game, he is for some reason 5'8". thought he would be this tower of muscle but ok. man gets super tall in the AU and is a 7'0" wall of muscle.
Sam: in the game, he is 5'11". cause he is a monster of shadow in the AU he can be whatever height he wants but us most often at a height of 6'11".
Grim: he's a strange cat monster thing... so ya. apparently he "stands at 2'3". but he floats cause hes magic and all that. floats at 4'10". In the AU the chimera is 4'6" and with his foot long weird tail.

Hi hello can I request a rant about ikeshot 👀 Anything you want like headcanons and stuff I'm begging pls I'm so starved for ikeshot content you're literally the only person here talking about them
Ikeshot. Let’s talk abt them.
Since you didn’t really specify what topic you want me to go over abt them i’ll just give you my general thoughts in regards to them and just specific general details i like to consistently characterize them when thinking of au’s and such.
Firstly abt Hotshot. He’s Korean-American in my opinion. There wasn’t really any specific actor that inspired this hc (not even the korean newsies cast, i don’t really know that cast that well) but i feel it fits him perfectly. He was born in Korea to Korean parents and then moved to the states for both canon and modern era (i hv no clue if there were any Korean immigrants in New York in the time where newsies take place and no i hv no interest in finding out whether that’s historically accurate<3). I like to think he’s the youngest. He has 12 older sisters. Idk it just feels fitting to me. His actual name is Park Ryung-Gu and i’m following the usual Korean naming rule so Park is his family name and his given name is Ryung-Gu (idk how to explain how to properly pronounce it other than like saying ‘young’ but with an R at the front followed by ‘goo’. Also i’m not very adversed with Korean naming and culture in general so there might be a few errors i make despite alr doing some light research. Srsly i ended up watching a kdrama compilation just to find out how to pronounce that name If anyone reading this can correct me then feel free to drop an ask).
Seeing that he had lived his majority of his childhood in the states, he’s considered the most fluent english speaker in his family. He likes helping his mother cook especially when she’s making kimchi. Man loves kimchi and can live off of eating that one single dish for his entire lifetime. He likes tiny hamsters but also big dogs. He actually likes a lot of k pop but can’t dance to save his life. Also one of his fav k pop boy band back when he was younger made him question his sexuality. His main sport is basketball but he come from swimming parents so it’s important that he knows how to swim well, thus he was able to reach the six foot mark by the time he reaches sophomore high school and ended up growing to 6’6. He’s good friends with Spot and Albert (i hc albert moving to Brooklyn at around age 10 before moving back to Manhattan for middle school so). He’s usually the more reserved calm and collected friend and dare I say the tired friend. Not to be confused as the mom friend bcs that’s Spot. Anyways. In some au’s Hotshot to me is a pharmacist or a beauty chemist. Whatever it is, he majored in a chemistry field for college bcs he’s best at chem class back in high school. It just clicks to him for some reason compared to other subjects like biology or economics.
Ok now for Ike. He’s younger than Mike by like 13 minites and Mike holds that over him bcs older brother duty™️. However Ike is taller than Mikd by like 1.5 inches which he holds over him bcs younger brother duty™️. Pretty sure it’s alr widely known that their names are Michael and Issac so yeah i stand by that fanon but i personally think their last name is Alvarez. In some au’s i hc them hving a little sister a year younger than them while other times i don’t. They are Cuban-American. Their parents along with their siblings are Cuban immigrants and gave birth to the twins in America. Ike is autistic while Mike is neurotypical. Throughout his childhood, Ike struggles a lot with sound and touch and regulating his emotions in general but he was mostly non verbal in his earlier years. The only other person he talked to back then was Mike up until like when he’s 8 or so was when he started getting better at his speech. Their mother in short isn’t the best person to be a mother. Safe to say it was for the best that their parents divorced when they were ten.
Ike was considerably the more reserved one between him and Mike but that doesn’t mean he’s not considered a troublemaker bcs in reality he still is. Despite still being able to joke around, he’s quite uptight. When he’s trying to regulate his anger he usually turns to boxing which is smth his father taught him back when he found out the twins were being bullied in elementary school. It serves as a great sport but also a great outlet to let out his anger. He’d punch a punching bag or ask Mike to spar with him. He’d dare to say that without boxing he might still not know how to regulate his anger in his adult years. However he’d say his main sport was soccer since that’s what he played in school teams. That does turn Ike to be a bit feisty, especially when he’s being disrespected. He doesn’t always go for the first punch, only as an act of self defense. Anyways, i hc him majoring in some sort of engineering field. Like he’d get a phd to research environmental engineering (renewable energy and all that stuff). He loves to learn actually and has an interest in technology + environment. He also loves cats. He has a brown cat named bear.
Now how did they ended up together you may ask? They met as a friend of a friend of a friend. Sorta. So while obtaining their bachelors degree, Ike has had bad luck with relationships. All the guys he’s ever liked are… terrible to say the least. He swears off dating until he gets his bachelors. Around his senior year, his good friend racetrack higgins just so happen to have a boyfriend from brooklyn named Spot who was also good friends with Race’s best friends and also Ike’s good friend named Albert. Spot and Albert also had a friend named Hotshot. One night when they were all going out to celebrate them nearly graduating, Ike and Hotshot met for the first time. Ike wld be lying if he said he didn’t find Hotshot to be attractive and Hotshot can’t deny he thought Ike was cute. However nothing happened and they only ever met every now and them in a big friend group setting. And ike was true to himself when he says he’ll put a hold on dating until he gets his bachelors (talk abt academic validation lolz definitely not self projecting here) in the middle of them obtaining their master’s degree, things start to escalate between them. They actually started seeing each other on their own and hv a fun time. When they finally gotten around to a confession (after being pushed by their friends to do it ofc) they started going out and took things slow to see where this was heading. As it turns out, they were a perfect match and ended up becoming more confident and srs with each other.
Hotshot and Ike are both reserved in their nature. Mostly calm and collected but can last in a fight if provoked. They’re not the most sociable person and it takes awhile for them to come out of their shell. So meeting and being comfortable with each other was great. Ike likes that despite the strength Hotshot displays, he is still kind and gentle to others. He’s very caring and sensitive. He gives Ike a sense of peace and security. He also gives the best hugs. Hotshot adores Ike for how careful he is at everything and how supportive he is. Ike is loyal and kinder than he lets himself believe. Ike always tries to better bcs he never really thought he was very great at displaying his affection when really Hotshot feels plenty loved by him. He loves how smart he is and how fun he can be when he’s comfortable but will also defend him till the end when he’s being wronged. He gives Hotshot a sense of comfort and warmth. He’s also feisty which is smth Hotshot finds to be quite cute in an affectionate way.

Tonight Julien bids farewell to the dingy hole: its whisky, its wine, its years of merry nights with strange friends. On paper she is here to give Lawrence and his green charges the will of Weisshaupt. And to look at him… wrinkled at the eyes, grey at the chin and temple. He’s in danger of becoming an elegant old fox.
“To dearest Jules and Nico,” she says, and he laughs and lifts his bottle. “To Jules and Nico,” Lawrence sighs. “And is this why you sail to Jader? In search of your other half?”
An unfunny, overdone joke— fallen flat without Jules there to cackle and Nicolas to roll his eyes. Julien laughs anyway, because she is getting soft in her old age, and she will never see these faces again. “Perhaps I have. Is that so terrible? Ferelden has its charms.”
Ruth frowns, sober as ever. “There will be little welcome in Amaranthine.”
“Give the constable her credit!” says Lawrence. “She can be very persuasive.”
“I was told the Fereldan Order died at Ostagar,” Caronel speaks suddenly. He regards her with a haunted, heartsick stare, and she remembers again how he came to them. “Is that true?”
Julien waves a hand. “The Order will not dissolve on a whim. There are wardens at the Vigil yet. And it pleases the powers pacing in Weisshaupt hall, that I should see what is left.”
“You’ll be very popular,” Lawrence drawls.
“Yes, yes, another round,” Julien decides. He snickers into his beard; she hides her own grin behind her cup, studying the recruits. What a charming young pair — both so stern and serious for their age— by the beards of the sleeping dead—! she would have relished watching the two of them grow into their boots.
The third drink loosens Caronel’s posture and Ruth’s stiff shoulders; she cheers when Lawrence begins making requests of the bard.
Julien takes a long look at this Denerim boy sent northward for the rest of his days. Her Fereldan is rusty, and she isn’t sure how she likes herself in the language. But Lawrence prefers Trade; Ruthie learned Fereldan from Jader chanters, and never speaks it unless she must. Besides they have both descended into raucous Royeaux airs à boire and Julien can’t stand Lawrence when he’s tipsy and maudlin.
She smiles at the boy to catch his attention; inclines her head. Listen here. She knows a little of leaving home forever.
“Caronel.” He straightens in his seat. His eyes slide over. “You will do this more justice than I.” She releases Nico’s griffon pin from her cloak and offers it in her open hand. “For good luck.”
“I see…” Caronel bends over the pin to study its regalia, worn soft by ages of absent fingers. In the dim air his curly head gleams burnished gold. “What is this?”
“You are a brave man,” Julien says. “I believe you will turn the Order to great things. We are… ah… coup de… Tsk! It is a good thing you have come to us. This is a gift from we who— are gone. We will walk behind you.”
He stares; his mouth works. “Warden…”
“That is your name now.”
In his face — his eyes — she sees the weight of the oath he drank. He takes Nico’s memory from her hands. It fits well in his. They would both be pleased, her old friends. “In peace.”
“May it last.” She clears her throat. “In death.”
There is another piece of her spirit she must give away before she is prepared for the Roads and her long sleep within the gangue; but it may have to die there with her. She hoped Duncan outsmarted ruin where the others did not. But she has had no word, no word…
…An old rogue’s old foolishness. Here at her shoulder is the shining face of the new age. She watches this young hero fumble and curse with the griffon’s clasp and her heart breaks in joy.

NOO THIS IS HARD 😭😭 Yeonjun has been one my of biases since 2019 and I've literally seen him grow up and become ever more talented through every era. I'm always so proud of him :') As for Wonwoo, he became my bias bc I saw myself in him and it felt nice to have an idol who has similar characteristics as me. When he spoke about his feelings during hit the road, i understood those same feelings. In summary, I can't choose between them 😔
3.If you were to spend a day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do?
Why must you do this to me 😭😭 I will say shua since he's like my #1 ult and honestly idk 🧍🏼♀️ i think it would be nice to go to a coffee shop and then just walk around an unfamiliar city or!! go to an arcade or amusement park during the evening and just goof off. if i had money then we definitely could just randomly fly to another country like he did with mingyu.

her smile 🥺🥺 she's one of those people where i think she could brighten everyone's day just by smiling. I also love how she smiles when she performs, you can just tell she enjoys it

I love how reserved he is, yet he gets all cheery with the boys sometimes. There's some moments where you just see him keep to himself and will add a comment or two but 5 minutes later, he'll joke around with the guys and be chaotic with them.

is your muse tall/short/average? above average, but not startlingly tall. Blair is 5′8′’ (and fun fact my only muse not the height of their fc who is one inch shorter)
are they okay with their height? yes Blair would have preferred maybe an extra inch but she thinks her height gave her a solid advantage in sports growing up and she very much likes to be taller than her partners so she at least has a shot of that at her height
what’s their hair like? in college it was very long, braided for games, otherwise usually in a ponytail. post-college/career it’s very short, she swoops it to the side but it often falls in her eyes if she’s not wearing a hat, when she’s older/has kids she lets it grow some more out of not worrying as much about it but it only ever really gets to maybe chin length and she still prefers it short.
do they spend a lot of time on their hair/grooming? No, just enough to get it out of her face or she throws a ball cap on

Playing with her cousins around Christmas, family traditions and getting together for holidays, getting to go to her first Cubs game at Wrigley Field, being part of UNC’s softball team, driving her sister to school when they were both finally in high school, sneaking in dates to the house
is it easy for your muse to kill? blair is incredibly protective and will easily jump to get in a physical fight/punch someone but in any main verse there is next to no scenario save something very extreme where she would kill someone. even in a zombie verse or apocalypse it would take a lot for her to kill a person
is your muse capable of trusting someone with their life? Yep, definitely. Once Blair trusts someone she’s very loyal and would definitely trust them with her life
what’s your muse like when they’re in love? When she’s really in love Blair is more considerate than she likes to let on. Likes to plan special things for her partner, is very physically affectionate, uses lots of compliments. She does still flirt with other people but it’s in a shallow way that truly means nothing to her, as once she’s in love she’s the type to really only have eyes for the person she’s with.

7'-4" and muscular. almost nobody can tell who he is. And the talking real loud is it being rude but it's on stupid. The point is that you don't know who this guy is and they trade off at times as a will or Bill. The women s to threaten our son. With several things the different order of magnitude
- personally it is identity. You can't tell who he is he could get in trouble on the street baby laughing if he's telling people off or any altercation or driving or confused of bullying and then from there I might Cascade
-if they say it's not him and say they can't verify it the question whether social security is fraudulent and stuff like that
-after that it's increasingly awful but there are other things that would happen first they're trying to say to Ken it's not him and the landlord although his son told him that he's he's growing and people will try and imitate him more because he'll look different and people aren't used to it and they keep come around but say they're not trying it's been happening it's not the main thrust cuz it kind of looks the same but when he gets big like this it will be different and much more harsh
-along with identity issues do women like the fact that they think that he would get lost and they could run off somewhere with him and produce offspring and return them and nobody would know which ones then he would be hit up for child support and other things would make more product lol it's not really funny but he's laughing at it
-but these people didn't think it through and women know about it cuz they're doing it all the time actually the men are too doesn't work as great but it works and then it's starting to get psyched they're getting in tanked. And Tommy f and Trump are sharing with Glee and her idiots.

Huge numbers of people are counting on it working I don't see it happening he says an exercising too much not feeding right there's a bunch of reasons the above and beyond so and they're not doing anything with the money or investments just sitting on it we'll see it works we do have a comment about that

pardon my inability to draw... anything at all. y'all are getting Blob Creatures so i can get through this logically with some sanity remaining.
this is my size reference thing for Elizabeth, my re.8 s/i.
the normal black silhouette ( on left ) represents normal lizzie. she stands at five feet five inches tall.
the second black silhouette ( middle ) with the red wings represents mid-mutation lizzie. she remains roughly the same height, but her optional horns can make her appear taller. her horns resemble deer antlers and are just under a foot in length ( height? idk how to classify this here ). she grows a set of corvid-like wings in this form ( shown in red ), granting her capacity of flight. her wingspan in this form is nine feet.
the big blue blob thing ( on right, not like this designation is really needed /j ) represents fully mutated lizzie. in this form she takes on fully corvid features similar to that of a common raven, only much larger. from bottom of feet to top of head she stands roughly nine and a half feet tall, and her wingspan is 22 feet. she has a second, mostly vestigial pair of wings measuring 11 feet (shown in green ). in this form her horns measure two and a half feet.
i tried to make everything at least slightly proportionate to show a sense of scale but im not sure how well that reads in image form.

How To Grow Hydroponic Herbs Complete Guide
How To Grow Hydroponic Herbs. I'll fill you in on everything you need to know about growing hydroponically because it's the ideal subject for beginners.
Herbs and leafy greens (hydroponic lettuce in particular) are the two main plant types to think about if you want to experiment with growing plants using only water and nutrients.
Before starting this guide on hydroponically grown herbs, I was surprised to learn from Tom Gordon's book Hydroponics: A Beginner's Guide to Building Your Own Hydroponic Garden that hydroponically grown herbs have 20 to 40% more aromatic oil.
I didn't realize that herbs could produce more aromatic oil, even though we all know that plants grown in a hydroponic system grow faster and can yield more. It might be a desirable feature for commercial growers.
I'm in it for the flavor and the quick growth. However, I have nothing against growing herbs in pots. or by cultivating them in a garden. These traditional approaches can be equally wonderful. Check out my post on how to grow basil from seed as an illustration.

The best hydroponic systems for beginners for growing herbs
1. Economical: 12 Pods of iDoo Hydroponics Growing System
This incredible indoor hydroponic garden is ideal for growing a wide variety of herbs and leafy greens. You might also try growing strawberries if you're feeling particularly daring.
A nice, diverse herb garden can be grown on the kitchen counter using the 12 pods. It includes a 4.5L reservoir, grow lights, water pump, 50 growth sponges and baskets, and nutrient solution. Only the seeds need to be purchased.
2. AeroGarden Harvest Elite is a fantastic brand.
Is it possible to discuss hydroponically growing herbs and the best setups for beginners without bringing up AeroGarden? The most renowned manufacturer is it.
We also receive water and nutrient solution alarms, six pods, grow sponges, grow lights, and nutrient solution.
It is ideal for growing herbs and other small plants because the plants can reach a height of up to 12 inches. You'll have to pay more for the AeroGarden Bounty if you want to grow taller plants (tomatoes, peppers).
3. A very pricey indoor growing system, Aerospring 27-Plant Vertical Hydroponics
Not exactly a beginner's system, this one. It's a system, in my opinion, for those who have grown accustomed to hydroponic setups like the iDoo and AeroGarden and want to test out a more sophisticated setup.
They also have the necessary funds. There are 27 pods included with the complicated Aerospring for growing plants. Everything can be grown in this vertical tower, including herbs, leafy greens, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and strawberries.
General Guidelines for Hydroponically Growing Herbs
1. pH:
The traditional pH range of 5.5 to 6.5 works well.
2. EC:
An average EC of 2 is generally a good choice; herbs have a lower EC than leafy greens do.
3. Grow lights:
In general, full-spectrum LED grow lights or fluorescent (T5 bulbs) grow lights are excellent options for herbs.
The majority of hydroponic herbs will need at least 10 to 12 hours of artificial lighting (some may require 14 hours), which is comparable to 6 to 8 hours of daylight.
4. Temperature:
At least 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees C) is required, but the average temperature for herbs is 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees C), and some people prefer 80 degrees.

Nine Simple Herbs for Hydroponic Growing
I've already written some excellent guides on how to grow hydroponic basil, parsley, and cilantro, but I also want to compile a comprehensive list of all the hydroponic herbs. I'll make an effort to list as many as I can.
After you've figured everything out and gone through the trials of hydroponically growing lettuce and herbs, you can advance to more difficult tasks like growing hydroponically tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, blueberries, cabbage, beans, peas, cauliflower, or even root vegetables like onions, potatoes, and carrots. The universe is enormous.
Let's just concentrate on the topic of hydroponically grown herbs and the conditions they require for this lengthy article.
1. One of the Most Popular Hydroponically Grown Herbs is Basil
- It's one of the most popular herbs to grow in hydroponics and thrives in any hydroponic system, even in a plastic bottle hydroponic wicks system (that goes for a large majority of herbs).
- It just requires plenty of sunlight/grow lights, water, nutrients, and warmth.
- 5.5 to 6.5 pH
- EC of 2 or as high as 2.5 for temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit or between 1.6 and 2.2 for a wider range.
- 10 to 12 hours of artificial light or 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight
- either grow from cuttings or from seeds (cutting propagation shortens the growing period).
- If you've ever grown plants in a pot indoors or outdoors, you already know that they need to be pruned. For the first time, read about when and how to prune basil; it applies to basil grown hydroponically. Prune basil when it reaches 6 inches tall (has 3/4/5 sets of true leaves). You can harvest the plant every week once it reaches maturity if you want to increase its yield and delay flowering. This will allow you to make an abundance of pesto and various Italian and Thai dishes whenever you have the time.
2. Oregano: A Higher pH Is Required
- 1.5-2.0 EC
- a higher pH will be needed than you may be accustomed to. Grow it in temperatures between 55 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit (13 to 21 degrees C) because it prefers colder weather and needs a lot of hours spent under grow lights: 14 hours of light
- three main varieties of oregano: Italian, Mexican, and Greek
- Mexican oregano is quite distinctive from other varieties and is primarily used in Mexican cuisine.
- Basil is equally delicious dried as it is fresh, so you can grow a bunch once and dry it for use throughout the year. It can be ready for first harvest in 15 to 18 weeks and a second harvest in the following month. Cut back the flowers to continue the growing cycle. If it turns woody, you need to replant. Greek and Italian cuisines are excellent for Mediterranean dishes. Amazing for pizza along with basil.
3. Parsley, a Natural Light Addict
Parsley grown hydroponically using the Kratky technique
- 6.0 to 7.0 pH
- 0.8-1.8 EC
- It prefers cooler temperatures, between 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit (15 and 25 degrees Celsius).
- Despite spending 10 hours in artificial light, the herb actually prefers natural light.
- If you have a basic setup like the Kratky method with mason jars or wicks plastic bottles - just place them on the window sill in the light if you want to speed up germination and ensure success - it can be very easy to grow even in an apartment. The parsley seeds can be germinated in paper towels for a few days or soaked up in tepid water for one to three days.
- The suggested range for germination is between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
- can harvest after 20–30 days or when the plant is at least 6 inches tall.
- After the first harvesting, a second harvest is possible in about 3 weeks by trimming the stems to a distance of 2 to 3 inches from the growing medium.
4. Cilantro: Colder temperatures are required
- pH of 6.5 to 6.7, but the usual general ranges 5.5-6.5 pH
- 1.6-1.8 EC
- Under grow lights for 12 hours daily, colder temperatures are required.
- In general, cilantro is an easy herb to grow in hydroponics, any system works, as long as you maintain colder temperatures. The ideal temperature range for cilantro is 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (10 to 21 degrees C), although low temperatures of 40 degrees F can work very well in hot weather. However, cilantro is quick to bolt, which is the main challenge for this particular herb, how to prevent it from bolting quickly.
- For cilantro and all the other herbs, you can try growing microgreens without soil when it's too hot and you're worried about bolting.
- Temperature of 65-70 degrees F (18-21 degrees C) for 7 to 10 days to germinate seeds for harvest in 40 to 50 days.
5. The easiest herb to grow in hydroponics is mint.
- Because mint is an aquatic or semi-aquatic herb, even in a pot, hydroponics is the ideal growing method for it because it requires little maintenance and requires watering only occasionally, or twice daily if the weather is particularly hot.
- When we say "mint," we actually mean using the spearmint variety, especially for cooking and making desserts and beverages. Peppermint and spearmint are two of the most popular varieties to be grown in all kinds of systems.
- Due to its high menthol content and potent flavor, peppermint is a favorite for flavoring and for its potent aroma.
- 6.5 to 7.0 pH
- 2.2 to 2.6 EC
- 65 to 70 degrees F.
- Mint can be grown from cuttings, rootstock, or seeds and germinate in 10 to 15 days at room temperature or slightly warmer. It can be harvested twice during the growing season, or you can simply pick leaves as you need them.
6. Chives are a great substitute for green onions.
- If you don't want to grow green onions, you can choose to grow the ideal substitute hydroponically: chives.
- By the way, by simply submerging bulb onions in water, you can choose to grow green onions; I wrote about it here.
- Chives are among the hydroponically grown herbs that are relatively simple to grow and thrive.
- pH EC: 6.0 to 6.5 A flexible temperature range that can be attained in various locations is 1.8-2.4 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit (18-27 degrees C).
- The main benefit is that this plant is perennial, which requires 14–16 hours of lighting per day. With each harvest, it can supply us with an ongoing supply of fresh leaves to garnish our meals. The leaves get thicker, the first harvest can occur quickly—within 2-3 weeks—and germination takes place in just two weeks at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
7. Dill: No Special Conditions
- Dill is a must-have for pickles and is equally loved by those who enjoy seafood. Because growing it hydroponically is so simple, you shouldn't skip it.
- range of 5.5 to 6.4 pH and 1.0 to 1.6 EC
- Every time you harvest it, it produces new growth. You should thin it out regularly to reduce the strain on the system in terms of water and nutrient consumption. This is especially advised if you're growing a variety of herbs in the same system. It will germinate in 7 to 15 days after sowing. 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit (18 to 27 degrees C) temperatures and 14 hours under artificial lights every day.
8. Fennel: The Very Tall Herb to Grow in Hydroponics is a herb that resembles dill and whose bulb can be eaten once it has grown to the size of a tennis ball.
- Because they are some of the most delicious seeds, the plant should definitely be harvested when the seeds are ripe.
- The seeds can be saved as well in order to grow new plants.
- The difference between growing fennel in hydroponics and most other herbs is that, if grown correctly, it can reach heights of 3–4 feet, allowing you to create your own fennel tower.
- EC 1.0-1.4
