Here To Stay
Sam Wilson x reader
(Reader is Tony Stark’s, and I cannot stress this enough, very GROWN adopted daughter, who was snapped during Infinity War. TFATWS spoilers ahead!)
Tumblr media
(Word Count: 1k)
It was hot, muggy, and you couldn’t wait to get back in your bed at home after this.
F.R.I.D.A.Y.’s GPS had guided you to a small country house like only you’d seen in the movies.
Before you could make it to the porch, three curious faces peaked out from the screen door. It was a woman and two kids. They scattered into the house’s interior as Sam Wilson stepped outside.
He wore a thin, dark colored t-shirt and jeans. Sweat dripped from his brow, shining against the Louisiana sun.
“Wrong house.” Sam announced. He had an easy half smile that hovered somewhere between curiosity and reluctance. You purse your lips, and cocked your head to the side.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y, disable location. Falcon protocol, Redwing protocol. Voice activation authorized. Stark, Y/N.” You ordered. The AI replied and went to work, finally in proximity with the Falcon suit to do so.
Sam cautiously approached you, and snorted.
“Only Tony Stark’s child would come down here barking orders, wearing high heels on wet grass.”
You glanced down at your pumps, “I always wear heels.”
Your dad never expected anything less. Tony Stark was nothing if not flamboyant and you had taken after him in that respect.
“If you fall, I’m laughing.” Sam joked as he led you inside. To your credit, you were perfectly steady as you trudged through the grass and up the front steps.
As the two of you settled into the living room, you got right to the point.
“Steve gave you that shield, Sam.” You said, plainly. You were nothing if not blunt. You decided that it was a side effect of your last name, probably made worse after the snap.
Sam shook his head and clasped his hands together. A thick vein pulsed on his temple as he formulated a response. It wasn’t humility or politeness—Sam didn’t seem like they type for either— it was shame. An intense shame.
“They have their guy, now. So you can go on back home and leave well enough alone. Take a plate with you, my sister made it.” With his downturned eyes, jaw clenching and unclenching in the silence, Sam Wilson sat slumped in the chair.
You slammed your palm on the wall, the sound piercing through the house. Like the soldier he was, Sam didn’t react to your outburst, but that didn’t stop you from going off.
“The U.S. government can have your black ass in those wings running covert ops off the Libyan border with no paper trail, but they can’t let you keep that shield?”
Your question chipped away at Sam’s armor, applying the necessary pressure. You knew the feeling—the creeping thought at the back of your mind, the lingering worry that your best couldn’t compare. Sam’s face hardened after each word but he needed to hear them, especially from someone who could understand his plight.
“You’re the big dog now, Wilson. Are you really gonna let them keep you the mantle you earned? When it wasn’t even theirs to give away?” You went on. Your heels clacked against the rickety hardwood as you paced back and forth.
You swallowed hard, not letting the bitterness fester. You loved Morgan, and getting to know her after having been snapped and missing her whole life, was how you reconnected with the regular world. But you’d be lying if you said it didn’t sting when people wrote articles about how Tony Stark was survived by his wife Pepper, daughter Morgan, and no mention of you in there.
“It doesn’t feel like mine.” Sam admitted. He kept staring straight ahead, you could see the thoughts swirling in his head.
“It’s not theirs either, so fuck them and build your own legacy.” You said, matter of factly.
You didn’t mean for it to come out so harsh. But ever since you came back, you had trouble self editing. To make up for it, you placed a reassuring hand on Sam’s shoulder.
He looked up at you so sincerely that it caught you off guard. His warm eyes were different than what you were used to—Sam radiated comfort, even when he was the one hurting the most. He gave you an unsure smile, but he was still leaning towards you. A strange feeling came over you as you felt the thick muscle underneath his shirt, making you snatch your hand away and straighten up. Heat rushed through your cheeks uncontrollably—you silently prayed he didn’t notice.
“Um, uh, I have the shield’s location as well as the location of the one and only Bucky Barnes at the ready. The two of you have a tight window of opportunity, so take full advantage.”
As you rambled on, Sam became less and less hopeless. Relief washed over his features, and it calmed you down, too. You had pierced through his resignation, and got him out of his head.
He suddenly met your eyes with an apologetic gaze.
“We didn’t speak at the funeral. I’m—”
“You weren’t my dad’s favorite person, either, Wilson.” You cut him off. His sympathy didn’t make you feel better. You had seen the Iron Man murals and memorials and tributes all across the globe and they hadn’t, either. But Sam’s admission did make you feel like a real person, and no one else’s sorry ever caught your attention for that.
You nodded at him. Sam smiled for real this time, and noticed how his gap was more pronounced up close.  It was a charming addition to an already handsome face.
“It’s a new world, and I’ve gotta do my part then.” He declared. There was a shift in him, a glimpse at what might have been optimism.
“Then get dressed, we’ve got work to do.” You replied.
Sam shot you an amused glance, looking you up and down. You caught him in the act and smirked. As you turned on your heel and headed for the door, you couldn’t resist calling him out in it.
“Stop staring at my ass in here, stare at it on the plane. I’ll be in the car.”
You smiled at the implication, imagining what Sam’s reaction was as you slipped out the door and back out into the world.
He was right—it was a new world. And you needed to do something to move it along, starting by reconnecting the shield with its rightful owner.

So once upon a time, I read a fic (or a series of interconnected fics) in which Bucky is an Avenger and is in a relationship with Steve. What sets this particular fic/series apart is that they fight some aliens and one of them lays eggs in Bucky's (metal!) arm, leading to a scene in a kitchen in which either Bucky or Tony burns the larva out with a blowtorch. Those are literally the only things I remember about it. (I recently reread The Murder Ballads and thought it was the one, but it isn't.)

Hiiii! I was wondering if you guys could help me find a fic a was reading some time ago but lost. I remember Steve and Natasha were comic book artists and talked through Skype, Bucky moved into his building. Steve goes to conventions and if I recall correctly, he takes Bucky to one. I’m not really sure but Bucky went to therapy (or a vet meeting). I think Sam was Steve’s manager or boss, omg it’s a mess hahaha but if you could find it that would be dope. Thank you guys!!

Hi! Amazing blog! Looking for a fic I read a while ago on ao3. It involved Bucky finding it hard to make decisions so he would just do whatever Steve wanted. Steve didn’t like this and decides to give him one choice to make every day and basically forces him to do it. Sam finds out and freaks but then understands. Sorry if it’s too vague, but I’d appreciate your help!!

I’ve been looking for a fic where Bucky’s internal thought process is written kinda like MS-DOS commands with two or three distinct voices that all have their own functions. At some point he tells Steve about it when one of the command voices stops responding (and it’s not Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail). I’m losing my mind, please help??

Unexpected Mutant

Steve Rogers x Reader

Link to Master Post
Word Count: 2.7k
AN: Sorry for the wait idk what happened. But this has been one of my favorite things I’ve ever written (the story in general), so pls don’t let this flop.
PS I’m no longer doing tag lists since I can’t keep up with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There was a flash, and you had Steve pinned under you, his helmet tossed somewhere and his temple bleeding. He was whispering his pleas to you, and before you could finish your blow, you jerked awake. You glanced around the lightly lit room, the fire place still had a small flame burning and your eyes traveled over the three sleeping men. Sam, Bucky, and Steve were sound asleep, and you sat up and rubbed your face.
In Bucharest, every few months you had the same dream - hurting your friends, your family. It ended the same way every time as well, you’d wake up crying and Bucky would wake up in seconds, and hold you through your episode. This time, you silently crawled over the back of the couch you were sleeping on and grabbed a jacket you had found in a drawer earlier and slipped outside into the cold night.
You eased yourself down onto one of the steps, releasing a tense sigh. At this point you missed your healing factor, and knew it would just get worse from here. You stared up at the beautifully star lined night sky, and closed your jacket as you heard the door open behind you. Steve stood in the frame for a second, looking down at your outline. You knew he was there, and glanced over your shoulder at him, so he stepped outside.
“What are you doing out here?” he questioned, his voice low from just waking up. He slid the door closed behind him and took a seat next to you, and you shrugged, glancing back to the night sky.
“Bad dream.. You?”
Steve’s eyes didn’t leave your face and you could see a small smile on his lips, “I heard you moving around and wanted to check on you.”
You nodded your understanding and a silence fell between you two, and Steve didn’t know what to say, but you started talking.
“I never got to say I was sorry, when we got back from that mission..” you trailed off and Steve gaped at you, starting to shake his head, “No, please.. I need to say this Steve.”
Steve looked down to the ground, and you continued, “I was starting to see things, and I knew.. I knew I didn’t have much time before everything kicked off, and I was angry. At everything.”
Steve leaned his arms against his knees, leaning forward, letting you speak, you bit your lip to hold back your tears, “I’m so sorry I left,” you whispered, and Steve finally met your eyes, “I’m so so sorry I had Tony lie to you-”
“(Y/N),” he cut you off, closing the gap between you both, and his hand found your cheek, wiping away a tear from your cheek, “I didn’t mean what I said, back then.”
You sniffled a bit, and he smiled warmly at you, “I was never mad, when you did that for Sam I realized how much you meant to me,” he paused and dragged his thumb below your lip, “how much I loved you.”
You wanted to embrace him then and there, but he continued, “When I held you that day, when you.. When you died. I knew I waited too long to tell you I love you,” he smiled sadly at you, “I love you, (Y/N).”
You eased yourself closer, Steve’s hands cupping your face and he kissed you. Slowly his lips pressed against yours and you melted against his chest. His fingers lightly danced against your cheeks and hair, before gently pulling away, your hot breathes mixing together.
“I’ll never get tired of that,” you whispered, earning a chuckle from him.
“How about we go back inside,” he asked, rubbing your shoulder, “you need your rest.”
You nodded, and with Steve’s help you were back up on your feet and shuffling back inside quietly. Steve’s hand left yours as he eased himself back onto the floor, and you slowly laid back down on the couch. As you both fell asleep, you felt at peace, unknowing of what would occur the next day.
The sun rose and you were all on the move with empty stomachs. Steve and Sam sat in the front of the small car while Bucky and you were in the back seat, you behind Steve and Bucky behind Sam, who was practically in the soldiers lap. It was tight, even your legs were a bit squished behind Steve, but you couldn’t complain.
“Why did you have to pick the smallest car possible, Steve?”
Bucky could though, and you grinned secretly to yourself.
“It was the only one that looked discrete enough,” Steve defended, and Bucky grunted.
“Then how much longer until we meet this connection of yours? I need to stretch my legs.”
“I’m not getting out,” Sam replied, earning a glare from Bucky, and you placed your had over your mouth to stop yourself from laughing. Bucky glared your way before throwing his arm along the back of the seat, “Come on seriously, how much longer?”
Steve was slowing the car down to make a turn down an abandoned road, another car further down the street in front of your view. You peeked around Steve’s body and saw a blonde exiting the chair, typing away on her phone. You didn’t notice the side eye that Sam gave Steve, settling a little further into his seat.
Bucky grumbled lowly, and you patted his leg to calm him down. Steve put the car in park and unbuckled himself, “I’ll be right back” earning just nods from the car. He opened his driver door and got out, his tall body towering the small Volkswagen Beetle and shut the door, the car moving just a bit and a heavy air settling into the vehicle.
You peered around the seat as Steve made it to the blonde, who smiled at him and put her phone away, and you looked towards Sam, “Who is that?”
“That would be Sharon Carter.”
You raised a brow, “Carter? As.. in..?”
“Yeah, that Carter,” he answered and you nodded your head, sitting back into your seat.
You watched as she opened her trunk and showed him something inside, and he was probably thanking her as the gentleman that he is. All three of you watched as they continue to speak, and there in that moment, almost in slow motion as if to taunt you, her arm reached out to his neck, and their lips met.
A far away voice called your name, and you felt as if you vision went fuzzy, a headache forming in your head and your hands suddenly clenched. The voice called your name again and everything came flooding back. You weren’t sitting in that cramped small car, but on the steps of a stoop back in New York.
The scenery was so familiar, yet foreign, and people walked past you as if you didn’t exist. A small part of you was grateful to be out of the car, and you stood to stretch your legs. Taking a step down onto the sidewalk, you ran your hand over the concrete siding of the steps and looked around.
It really was like you were invisible. And you realized why when your eyes landed on a familiar friend.
“Thought you could use saving again,” the slick voice said, and you couldn’t help but rush towards them and throw your arms around their neck.
Loki happily embraced you, his hands holding onto your back and the nape of your neck. It had been several months since he had last seen you, but he had checked in every once in awhile when he could. It was especially easier since Thor and him were on the planet to find their father, Odin. Finding you was a bit tricky since you weren’t where he had last checked in with you, but he deduced that wherever Steve was.. You would be with him.
“Loki what the fuck,” you mumbled, pulling away to look at him, “you’re in.. a black suit.”
He grinned, “Had to blend in with you Midguardians.”
“Blend in? By wearing the most extra suit I’ve ever seen?” you laughed which earned a smile from him, and you paused for a moment.
“Wait, you’re here?” you breathed, your hands going back to his shoulders, “Really here?”
“On Earth? Yes. My brother and I we’re uh searching for Odin,” his hands went to your hands and held them down between the two of you, “but here with you? Not quite.”
He noted your frown and he smiled, rubbing the back of your hands, “Listen. Once all this mess is settled with my brother, I promise to come back and whisk you away from all this.. Mortal drama, and live a little.”
You chuckled and he dropped your hands, “I’m serious. But.. It’s time for us to part again.”
“Gotta stop doing this to me Laufeyson. Gonna break a girls heart one of these days.”
With one last chuckle, he pulled you back into a hug for a few more moments, and you rested your chin on his shoulder. You had never figured out why Loki made you feel so comfortable, so safe, and he didn’t know why he enjoyed your company so much. But these moments did mean a lot, even though they were short and brief, they still managed to give you that push you need. Loki released you from his arms and after taking you in for a few more second, he took a step back and turned his back to you, making his way down the street. Someone cut around him and once you got a clear view again, he was gone almost as quick.
And just like that you were back to sitting next to Bucky Barnes, and Sam Wilson in the front seat of the car. No time had passed with your interaction with the God of Mischief, and Bucky quickly turned to you. You glared, your hands reaching forward to push the driver seat up and you pushed the door open and stepped out of the vehicle. You slammed the door closed as hard as you could.
Steve’s eyes were open, his hands were up in an almost shocked position, and the rattle of the car made Sharon unlock from his lips, and they both turned towards the commotion. You, with a dead look on your face, were staring at them. You could almost make out a mumbled word from Steve, and you walked forward.
Steve thought for a moment on what to do. Does he try to say something? Does he take a step forward? No, god no, and yes. He took one step forward as you neared them, and you stopped, sending a stare up at him. He nervously swallowed the lump in his throat. You didn't say anything, much to their surprise, only shot Sharon a look before reaching into the trunk, grabbing all the gear yourself in your arms, minus Steve’s shield, and spun around and made your way back to the beetle.
The two men in the car were shocked, to say the least. They watched as you walked to the back of the car, threw open the trunk, set the things inside, and slammed that shut too. Bucky’s eyes never left your face, and Sam looked ahead to see Steve grabbing his shield, and Sharon giving him a sad smile. Steve turned around to see you getting back into the car, not looking his way, and he sighed.
The ride to the airport was awkward, to say the least. No one really spoke, and there was music playing very lowly through the radio. Steve stared ahead at the road, checking the rearview mirror every once in awhile to see your face, Sam stared ahead as well, and Bucky was just watching you. You, on the other hand, completely tuned the other men out as you stared at the scenery passing by.
It really was such a pretty country.
The silence was short lived as Steve pulled into a parking garage, away from all the other vehicles he put the small car in park and shut the engine. Everyone was eager to get out and stretch their legs, and you didn’t wait for Steve to exit, and instead slid onto the passenger side and followed behind Bucky. Steve noticing this, breathed out a pent up sigh, and stepped out, towering over the small car and looked around.
“So what are we waiting for?” Bucky asked, and you were walking down the lane away from them. Steve’s eyes followed you, but still answered his question as he walked away after you.
“Some friends.”
It didn’t take him long to catch up, you had made your way to the stairwell that led to the other floors, and there was an opening to peer out. You knew he would follow you, but he didn’t speak when he was finally behind you. The wind whipped your hair back, the cooler breeze made your cheeks feel nice and cold, and you leaned against the edge, carefully of your still healing bruises.
“I used to always sit in my room and think that I wanted this exciting life, to be something greater than I was, important. But I’ll tell you what, having something always interfere with your life is really fucking annoying.”
It was the first words you said to him in over an hour, and Steve took this as an invitation to walk closer, and lean over the edge with you, careful to not get too close if you may retaliate.
But you didn’t.
“Do you ever miss just having a semi-normal life?”
It was a loaded question, one that made Steve frown towards you, who stared off into the distance and didn’t look his way. He traced over the edges of your face, and looked down at your laced fingers.
“I used to. I would’ve given anything to just go back, and live my life out in the past. With.. With Peggy.”
You didn’t react, he didn’t expect you to. Deep down you knew his answer, but he continued.
“But then.. I got this. These people became my family, and it made it easier to be without that life. And then I also met you. And you became my everything, and all I can think about now is being with you for as long as I can.”
You glanced his way, “You hated when we first met.”
“I wouldn’t say hate, more like intimidated.” he answered honestly, smiling down at his hands, and you finally turned to face him. He raised a brow and looked over to you past his shoulder.
“Oh I intimidated Captain America? Wow, I feel like a total badass now,” you smiled lightly, and so did Steve, but it fell quickly, “I’m not mad, by the way.”
Now this made him turn and face you, “You’re..not?”
You shook your head, “I mean you didn’t.. Reciprocate it so.. No,” you paused and he grinned, and slid his arms around you and pulled you into a hug. You fell into it, resting your head on his chest and he rubbed your back, “everyone’s just lucky I didn’t lose my shit and fight her.”
Steve chuckled, shaking his head, “I promise.. When all this is over,”
“-And we become fugitives of the law?” you interrupted, looking up at him.
“And we become fugitives,” he agreed, and pushed some hair behind your ear, “I promise, we can just runaway and get one of those semi-normal lives.”
You smiled up at him, a silky noise leaving your throat that sounded like agreement, “With all our fugitive friends?”
Steve’s hands wrapped in yours as you both started to head back, everyone waiting on you two, “They can be close by. But maybe just us for a little bit.”
It sounded like the perfect dream. Just to take some time and be alone, which is something you never got to do as a couple, or in general for a very long time. You could see it now, a cute little place far away where no one would recognize you, be able to really spend some time with Bucky on getting rid of all the things Hydra put in his head, maybe you could have a farm, you always wanted something like that.
And it was true. It was all the perfect, unattainable dream. Because in the span of another hour, it become just that. A dream.

man behind the sun
Note: repost from my old blog. also pls let know if u liked it :) Warnings: just fluff like honestly ive never written anything angsty
Sometimes you found it odd how a small group of people could live every waking moment with each other, go on missions and still want to hang out afterwards. It didn’t really matter in this moment, the moment you were experiencing could show anyone just how much they care and need each other.
Tony had decided to have a pool party for no particular reason. He said it was a celebration for finishing a grueling mission, but everyone knew that he just wanted to party so no one said anything. The guys were fooling around in the pool with the different kinds of floaties and occasionally they’d play a rough game of tag or something, while the girls huddled around Sharon and talked about her growing baby bump.
“I can’t believe you’re pregnant,” you said as you took a sip of your drink. Sharon looked up from her bump and gave you a small smile.
“I can’t believe you’re not,” she joked back, rubbing her belly, “how long has it been with you and Bucky?”
“Coming up three years,” you sighed, looking down at your drink. Everyone always teased you about how you and Bucky were the perfect couple, the epitome of love and how they couldn’t wait until you got married and had babies. It was all fun and games until you realised that Bucky hadn’t even mentioned anything about marriage and it made you a little anxious in thinking where the relationship would be going. To keep your mind at bay, you chalked it up to the fact that Bucky still might not be ready but a little part of your mind feared that he really didn’t want to get married. Ever.
“Has he hinted at any proposal?” Nat question, her face twisted in confusion.
“Nope,” you said shrugging.
“It’s okay. Steve didn’t propose to me until last year, four years, it took the man four years,”Sharon quipped up, hoping that she could ease your anxiety.
“I’m not so much on my toes,” you lied as you sipped your drink.
The girls moved on from the subject much to your relief but you couldn’t stop thinking about your future. You watched as Wanda placed her hand on Sharon’s belly and giggled when she felt movement and never have you wanted to be a mother such as in this moment. Turning your gaze over to the pool, you watched Bucky goof around with his friends and you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking about having a little boy that Bucky could play games with in the pool. Or a daughter that would be sitting next to you as you gossiped with the girls. A smile formed on your face when you imagined them running around the apartment yelling as their father chased them around pretending to be the bad guy. You stopped the silly fantasies from continuing as you noticed Bucky walking towards the table.
Bucky caught your gaze and smiled at you to which you mirrored. He walked around you, standing facing your back as he placed a wet hand on your shoulder. You gasped as he chuckled and in response you tried to send him the meanest glare possible but it was quickly replaced with a lovesick expression when you placed your hand over his.
“You wanna come play with us?” Bucky asked, looking down at you, eyes never leaving yours. You looked towards your friends and they all nodded for you to go with him.
“Okay sure, let me just get ready,” you said as you leaned forward to place your glass on the table.
“Don’t take too long,” he said before leaning down and pecking your cheek. You watched Bucky jog back to the pool and couldn’t help but to watch his back muscles. A small groan was about to leave your mouth when Bucky dove into the water but before a sound could be made Natasha cleared her throat. You whipped your head towards the girls and saw they all had sly smiles. Your cheeks began to heat up as you realized they caught your shamelessly checking out your boyfriend.
“If he doesn’t propose soon, I’m gonna kick him in the balls,” Nat stated.
“I’m with you on that,” you muttered.
“Y/N! C’mon!” Bucky yelled, stopping the game with the boys much to their annoyance.
“Alright!” You yelled back while standing up and taking off your cover up. Wanda and Sharon let out whistles as Nat cat called you.
“Seriously, if he’s not gonna propose, I will,” Sharon remarked, giving you a wink.
“Sharon, you’re married to Steve,” you giggled.
“Hoes before bros,” was all she said before your name was called again.
The rest of the day was spent playing all sorts of games with the boys and you swore half of the games were made up on the spot because the rules kept changing.
The day was coming to an end when the air turned chilly and when Sharon stood up and called Steve over, letting him know that she and the baby were ready to head out. Soon after you and Bucky decided to head back home as well.
“Are you okay?” Bucky asked after a few moments of driving in silence. You seemed a little off since the talk with the girls and he was starting to get worried. You nod, answering his question with an action instead of words. Bucky decided not to press any further and changed the topic to Sam doing something stupid.
Once back at home and in your bedroom, you walked slowly to the balcony and watched the sun set. It was one of your favorite things to witness. Bucky made his way towards you, putting his hands on the railing and leaned forward, capturing you between his body and the railing. He sighed and watched the sky turn different hues of orange and blue.
“Bucky?” You asked after a moment of silence.
“Mmhmm,” he responded, his face chin resting on your shoulder.
“Do you- do you ever think about marriage?” He doesn’t answer immediately causing a wave of anxiety to flood your senses. You noticed that he had lifted his head from your shoulder and backed away from you a little.
“What?” You asked, scared that you said something wrong and triggered him in a way that you don’t want to.
“Nothing, just… wait here, okay?” He looked at you, your body facing him now. You nod, giving him the answer he needs before he disappeared into your bedroom. Turning back towards the sky you braced yourself for the worst possible outcome. In the silence, you heard a drawer being opened, things being pushed aside and then the drawer slammed shut.
“Y/N,” Bucky said so quietly it could have been a whisper. You turned around and saw him holding something behind his back, shifting nervously from one foot to another. He slowly brings his hands into view and opened them. You gasped as you saw the little black velvet box resting on his palms and your heart began to race..
“I’ve had it for five months now… I just didn’t know how to ask or if you even wanted me to,” Bucky says as he walks closer towards you.
“Of course I wanted you to,” you say, placing a hand over your heart.
“Just not like this,” he mumbled.
“This is fine,” you whisper shyly. Bucky takes a look at the box and then back at you and he knows that now is the perfect time. As Bucky gets down on one knee, he slowly opens the box to reveal the most beautiful and simple ring you’ve seen. The hand that had been resting over your heart was now covering your mouth, covering the biggest smile. Both you and Bucky are grinning like fools and your hand falls to your side as he takes the ring out of the box.
“Will you marry me, Y/N?” Bucky asks through the unshed tears threatening to spill.
“Yes,” you breathed out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You jumped a little as Bucky took your left hand and slid the ring onto your finger.
The moment the ring was on, you cupped his face and brought him up to your level and kissed him with so much passion and love. Bucky’s arms wrapped themselves around your waist as yours around his neck and your legs around his waist when he picked you up.
“Thank god you said yes,” Bucky said after breaking apart, leaving little room between the both of you. You gave him a quick peck on the lips and then stuffed your face into the nook of his neck.
“Of course I would,” you said, though it was muffled. You glanced at the ring behind his head and couldn’t believe that he had actually proposed to you. Bucky leans his head back so he could be face to face with you again, leaving small kisses all around your face and you giggled as you felt his stubble scratch your cheeks.
Eventually Bucky let you back down and as you untangled yourself from him, you had another glance at the ring. Bucky took your head and kissed your knuckles and suddenly the smile that was glued to your face was gone.
“You idiot!” You shouted, yanking your hand from his grasp.
“What?” Bucky asked, so confused on how your mood suddenly changed.
“You’ve had this ring for five months!” Bucky chuckled and lifts his hands up in mock surrender.
“I wanted it to be perfect,” Bucky defended.
Truthfully as cliche as it was to get proposed to on a balcony at sunset, it was pretty perfect. But then you realized that with the amount of love you had for Bucky, anything he could have done would have been perfect.
You started to walk towards the bedroom, leaving a smiling Bucky on the balcony. He turned to face you and saw that you had extended your left hand, letting the diamond shine in the last rays of sunlight. Bucky takes your hand as you lead him back inside….to officially seal the deal.

“What! What do you mean (Y/N) was taking!!” Peter demanded to Tony who was suiting up to go with the others and get her from the Hydra base she had been taken to. “Peter stay here.” Tony said as Peter’s eyes widened. “Excuse me? (Y/N) is my girlfriend! I have to go after her!” He exclaimed when Tony stopped him by placing a gloved hand over Peter’s chest.
“And (Y/N) is my responsibility. Now do as I say and stay. Here.” Tony spoke sternly as Peter opened his mouth to protest before sighing as he flopped down onto the communal couch. “Fine.” He huffed angrily as Tony’s helmet came over his head. “Avengers move out.” He commanded before the roof opened up as he took off, leaving Peter at the complex alone. He was upset, but mostly worried for the love of his life as he glanced out the window, watching the Quinjet leave.
(Y/N) struggled against the bonds of the chair when she looked up to see an older man towering over her. “W-What do you want for me?” She asked as he smiled. “You are important to the Avengers. You are stronger than any of them, but you don’t show your full potential.” He explained as (Y/N) growled, struggling harder when they started connecting wires to her head.
“Get off me! Go away!” She cried when he gripped her by the hair and yanked back, holding her still as she hissed at the burning sensation from her scalp. Her eyes snapped shut when he finally let go of her hair as she panted softly, tears brimming her waterline. When she finally opened her eyes she looked to see the guy smirking down at her causing her to swallow. “Turn on the machine boys. She’s ready.” He said, taking a step back as fear consumed (Y/N)’s body.
Her hands were trembling as they gripped the metal chair tightly before this agonizing pain of what felt like her skull was being slowly ripped open and hot water was being pour over it. She let out a scream of pain as blood trickled down from her nose while her eyes snapped shut from the intense spasm through her brain. Suddenly she stopped moving altogether as she slumped in the chair when the agent stopped the machine.
“It is done.” He said to the older man who smirked down at her. “Excellent. Unlock her and we need to leave.” He said as they nod collecting their things before unlocking her from the chair. “The Avengers will be here in five minutes.” He said the older man who looked to him before looking to her. “Don’t worry. She’ll stop them long before they get to us.” He chuckled before they all went out the back entrance.
The moment they came out the Avengers kicked down the door and noticed (Y/N) sitting in the chair, unconscious. “Cap, get (Y/N).” Tony said detecting three lifesigns on his scanner. “Bucky, Natasha with me.” Tony said as Steve went up to her when suddenly a knife was shoved into his shoulder causing him to cry out. He was kicked backwards as he slammed heavily against the wall when everyone froze seeing the dark look in her eyes.
“Shit, what happened?” Tony asked. “It’s too late. They already broke her.” Bucky said before charging towards her as she jumped up onto the chair and flipped over him when he stopped her fist from hitting his side. Steve gripped the handle of the blade before ripping it from his shoulder as he growled softly in pain. “Tony, Clint and Natasha go after the others. Sam, Bucky and I will take care of (Y/N).” He said to them.
“But Steve--” Tony started to protest. “Go! Now!” He barked as the three went into action while Steve, Bucky, and Sam faced what use to be their friend. “You’ll all die!” She exclaims before kicking Bucky back against the chair when she turns and blocks Steve who tried to swing at her. They had been fighting for a good half an hour as Sam blocked her attacks.
“I can’t fight her. She’s just a kid!” He huffed as (Y/N) smirked. “You’re weak.” She said before breaking Sam’s arm at the elbow causing him to cry out. She was tackled to the floor by Steve as she struggled against him when he lifted up her head before snapping his eyes shut as it collided with the ground. Steve slumped before he panted for a moment, looking back to the other two who looked just as beaten as he felt. “Come on, we need to move her now.” He said as they nod.
The ride back on the Quinjet was quiet as Tony checked over her when he came to the front with the others. “She’s damaged… They took out all the good memories with us and implanted ones where we’re the bad guys. It’ll take me months before I figure out how to fix her.” He sighed softly slumping down into the pilot seat. “We can’t tell Peter.” Bucky said, sitting up. “He’ll find out eventually. He’s a smart kid.” Tony counters.
“Tony’s right, Bucky. We’ll just have to… put her in Loki’s old cell until we figure out something.” Steve explained. “So you’re going to keep her up like a caged animal?” Sam asked, frowning. “What else can we do Sam? If we let her out there she could kill a lot of people. She’s… She’s Hydra now.” Steve mumbled gripping the handles of the Quinjet. “It’ll be best for her to regain some things.” Bucky explained to him.
The rest of the ride home was in awkward silence. After they got back Steve, Bucky, and Natasha took (Y/N)’s unconscious form down to the holding cell. The moment the elevator opened to the communal room Peter shot off the couch and ran over to them. “Where’s (Y/N)? Is she okay?” He demanded almost immediately as Tony stepped out of the suit.
“Kid, calm down.” Tony placed his hands onto Peter’s shoulder when Peter quickly knocked them away. “Where. Is. (Y/N)?” He asked as Tony sighed softly. “You can’t see her right now Peter.” He murmured as Peter frowned. “What? Why not?” He asked causing Tony to wince. “Because she’s… She’s unstable.” Tony looked like he was questioning if he used the right wording. “Please Mr. Stark… I have to see her.” He said when Tony rubbed his temple for a moment.
“Alright, she’s downstairs in a holding cell until we figure out how to get rid of the Hydra implanted memories. Be caution Kid… She’s not the same person right now.” Tony explained, placing his hand on Peter’s shoulder as Peter nods before running to the elevator. He had to see her, had to make sure that she was okay, because now he was terrified from what Tony just told him.
The doors to the elevator opened and Peter went down to the hallway, seeing Steve, Bucky, Nick, and Natasha all standing there together. “(Y/N).” Peter called as the four look to him. “Kid, wait. I think you shouldn’t see her right now.” Bucky said as he pushes past him. “Let him.” Nick said before anyone could stop him. He saw her in the cell, sitting with her head between her knees as he swallowed softly. “(Y-Y/N)?” He asked, placing his hand on the glass.
(Y/N) looked up with a murderous glare before her eyes immediately softened at the boy standing in front of her. Memories of them laughing together, kissing, holding hands, and everything flooded her mind as her eyes widened. “P-Peter?” She asked as they four at the doorway to the cells froze when they heard her call Peter’s name. “Yeah (Y/N), it’s me. Peter… Your boyfriend.” He gave her a dorkish grin when she smiled back before shaking her head.
“Peter, you need to leave. Like right now.” Her voice started to tremble as tears flooded her eyes. “What? No, I’m not going anywhere!” Peter snapped. “Please! I don’t want to hurt you! I attacked the others I--” She covered her ears and cried out as Steve and Bucky came down, grabbing Peter. “Stop! Let go of me! Please! Wait! (Y/N)!!” Peter cried out, feeling tears of his own trickling down his face as they dragged him towards the door when (Y/N) looked up at him with an expressionless face. “Hail Hydra.” She spat in a monotone before the shut, closing Peter off from the one he loved.
