I'm sorry I can't remember her name but I was bored at a convention and liked her character design so I drew her and colored her with alcohol markers

Diabetes
Summary: You join arsenal and move in with Beth and Viv, you're nervous how everything will go, but ultimately it was perfect
Warnings: Diabetes, Hypoglycaemia, Glucagon shot, let me know if anything else.
A/N: Just a bit of a cute fluffy fic, I tried to get everything right medically but IDK if it is perfect. I hope you like it. If I did get something wrong let me know. Also as always happy to do part 2s if requested but pls add some detail on what you want to see.
Tumblr media
You were originally going to move in with Leah however the Medical Team said it would be best for you to live with two people, so you moved in with Beth and Viv, you were very nervous as to how they would perceive you, and whether they would be accommodating of your diabetes or not. You knew the medical team had discussions with them and that the club had forced them to do the emergency training for really bad lows and highs, what you didn't know was that they asked the club if they could find them some more training courses, they had done just about everyone single one, from how to use a Dexcom and an Omnipod as these were the devices you used, to how to live everyday life with diabetes.
So when you turned up to their house you were very surprised to see some snacks sitting out on the bench, each with a piece of paper next to them, with the amount of carbs in them. They had really gone out of their way to help you settle in and make your life easier.
“Um, we have something to show you.” Beth said, kind of hesitant, you followed them over to a cupboard, “Um, it might be a little silly but this is for you,” she said as she opened the cupboard. It was empty other than some shelves, and draws, some organisation baskets, a mini fridge and a basket full of lollies. “There are some juices in there, we didn’t know what flavour you liked so we bought a pack of each, if you don’t like a flavour that's okay, we also got you these, they are all 15g of Carbs each, um but we can buy anything else you want or prefer, and um we thought you could put all of your supplies in here so they are organised and there is even a label maker so we can label the draws and stuff if you want oh and this is for you I suppose.” She said as she picked up a phone, it was a brand new iPhone 15 “it's more for the club, they were originally going to by you a android but we told them you wouldn't use it so yeah, the idea is we connect it to you sensors as like an additional device, so that everyone has access to your levels, so like at night we will keep it beside our bed so if anything happens we are alerted and during games the medical staff will have it and during training I think Kelly is mainly going to have it.” you nodded knowing you couldn't speak, the kindness of both women, and seeing how much they more cared and were going to 100% help you caused you to become emotional you felt a single tear roll down your face, causing the pair to panic lightly “You could have a cupboard somewhere else if you wanted or we could show you, your bedroom, it's pretty bare but we had plans to take you shopping so you could decorate it and make it your own,” another tear roll down your face, “are you okay, did I say something wrong? Did I do something wrong?” you shook your head “th-thank you” Beth pulled you in for a hug “it's nothing really” but it was something it was everything, it was perfect. You spent your day moving in.
You set up the cupboard first, you drew a plan of where everything was going to go, detailing it before everything started to get put into the cupboard. Your plan worked very well and the cupboard was very organised and practical. Viv thought it was quite cute, she was going to like this side of you very much. Once you had set up the cupboard you got to go shopping, first you went to the homemaker centre, buying some bedspreads, pillows, and decorations from multiple different shops, to make more room in the car you had to do a pit stop at home, chucking it sll through the front door, before heading back out for lunch, it was the first time Beth and Viv had experienced eating out with Diabetes, well even just eating and diabetes. You were very well practised at it, and helped Beth and Viv learn, showing them how you did everything, you taught them how to estimate carbs, but that differently needed practise on their end, you also showed how you can either your phone or your pod controller to set up the insulin delivery and you even pricked their fingers to test their levels for fun, you liked how they weren’t over cautious about it and how they weren’t treating you differently, and also the fact that they didn’t see it as annoying, really you just liked everything about them. You then went to IKEA to get a desk, a chest of drawers and some other items for your bedroom. Once you got home you set up your room, you were putting your clothes away when you were interrupted by Beth and Viv calling you down for dinner.
“Stuffed capsicums!” You yelled as you walked into the kitchen.
“Inside voice,” “Vivvy, it’s cute, your parents told us they were one of your favourites and we thought after the lunch we had today they would be a good choice, how many do you want?”
“Two please, thank you,” “you’re welcome, if you want we can sit on the couch and watch a movie.” you nodded your head before making your way over to the couch.
-
“Come in,” Viv said after you knocked on the door, her face dropped when you opened the door and she saw your red puffy eyes, and tear stained cheeks. You had been crying because you were so relieved and happy, and you wanted to thank them again.
“Kleintje, is everything okay?” Viv asked, causing Beth to pop her head out of the bathroom mid teeth brushing, the sight of you caused her to quickly move back to the bathroom rinsing out her mouth before pulling you in for a hug.
“T-thank you, for everything, it was perfect, you didn’t have to do any of it”
“Of course Kleintje,” Viv walked over to the two of you joining in the hug.
“We want you to feel welcomed and comfortable, it is now your house too. But please if you need us for anything at all you can come wake us up, our door is always open.”
“Figuratively, not literally” you giggled slightly at Viv’s comment.
“Let's all go to sleep. Hey. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow” Beth said.
_____
Your second day was a training day, you Beth and Viv arrived early, as you had a few meetings, the first one was with Jonas and Kelly, about everything but also your diabetes, then the medics and some other people, Beth and Viv came with you to all of them. As you sat in the tactical session, you sipped on your apple juice popper as you listened intently, trying to ignore Beth and Steph’s talking, you were one to think tactics were a major part of the game, something else Viv would come to like. You then had a short gym session and then it was lunch, everyone was wondering what it was going to be, you already knew but decided not to tell them, you had been given the menu for the week, to select some things that you would want, so that they could make up a plate for you, ensuring they could tell you the exact amount of carbs. You walked in to find your plate sitting on the bench next to all the other food, it was a chicken burger, on wholemeal bread rather than a burger bun, you also had some snacks. There was a piece of paper next to it that had your name on it and the amount of carbs in each item, including each item of the burger. You picked up your plate and walked over to Beth, who pointed to the table she usually sat at, so you sat down there, waiting for her and others to join you, Kelly soon walked in with your kit, which you accidentally forgot at the meeting, you took it from her gratefully and she told you what would be happening in training so you had some idea of how much you needed to adjust your insulin. You picked up your phone and checked to see what it said your sugars were at, your phone said your sugars were at 90 which was perfect considering your target range was between 80-100, you were unzipping your kit when some of the team came to sit down, Beth sat next to you, Steph, Katie, and Caitlin also sat down. You pulled out your lancing device and pricked your finger, using your metre to confirm your reading before putting the units you needed for the burger into your pod controller.
“Do you mind us asking?” Katie questioned what you were doing.
“Um, I have diabetes, I was diagnosed when I was two, but it means that I have to manually control my blood sugars. My body doesn't do it at all, so I have to calculate the insulin I need for when I eat," "Right,” she nodded her head.
____
You had a few hiccups with your diabetes since living with Beth and Viv, but nothing major, however that was going to change. It was the 60th minute and you felt your body start shaking, the medics hadn’t called a paused or called you over and even thought you felt funny at half time your levels were normal, if anything slightly high, but you knew you were low, not only was your body shaking, but your brain hurt and felt foggy, you were also struggling to not fall over. You knew you needed to get off the pitch soon, before you passed out. A corner gave you the perfect opportunity to tell Beth you were low, you walked up to her, she looked at you confused and concerned.
“L-Low” you managed to say to Beth before you collapsed forward on her, she lowered you to the ground and the ref immediately blew the whistle, the medical team was on the pitch immediately, players from both teams were starting to form a huddle around you, trying to protect you from the media.
-
They were checking your sugars, as Beth got a Glucagon shot ready, she was ready to go when she got the nod of approval from the medics. Beth injected the shot into you and you were immediately rolled onto your side by the medics, waking up just moments later, in a panicked state, sitting up.
“It’s okay, you passed out from being low, we had to give you a Glucagon, but it’s okay, you’re going to be okay.” Beth said as she rubbed your back.
“S-sta-stay?” you managed to get out eyes wide open with fear.
“Go with her, I’ll tell Jonas,” Beth nodded.
Viv met you and Beth in the medical room, she sat on a chair while Beth sat on the bed with you, you were given some gummy bears as well as an apple juice popper, to try and elevate your levels, you were still shaky and sweaty but your vision was completely clear and the medics and paramedics cleared you, which meant you didn't have to go to the hospital, but Beth and Viv had very strict instructions to take you to the hospital if certain things happened, such as seizures, loss of consciousness and others.
“Do you want to go home now Kleintje?” you nodded as you ate a gummy bear.
_____
You were very nervous for your first camp, for how the staff would handle your diabetes but more so the team. The last game you played for Arsenal was the one you passed out during. You visited your endo after that incident and he had recommended putting tape over your sensor and pod when you played. The sensor had slightly pulled out during your arsenal game and so it wasn't actually reading your blood sugar.
It was your first training session and Beth had helped you, with the supervision of the medical team, put tape around your arms covering your sensor and pod, it was so you could get used to the feeling of it before your first game. You weren't required to have tape over your sensor and pod during training as you had frequent breaks which you could be checked during.
-
As you warmed up with Lauren Esme and Niamh, Ella and Alessia walked over to you.
“Why do you have tape on your arms?”  Ella asked. “Ella you can't just ask that” Mary said as she walked over with Beth, who had overhead the question, so she stood behind you placing her hands on your shoulders. “You don't have to tell them.” Beth whispered in your ear, you did want to tell them but you weren't sure you wanted to tell them right now.
“Oh um,” you were saved by Sarina calling the team over. While Sarina talked one of the medics came over to you, she handed you the phone and you saw your reading, being nodding and sticking your hand out to her, hoping that somehow in the non contact warm up the sensor had moved and that reading wasn't true, as if it was you most likely weren't going to get to do training this morning. You were handed a small container filled with 6 sour worms which told you the reading was true, you opened the container and started to eat them while Sarina kept talking.
“Why don’t we get sour worms?” Ella whined.
“Because you’re not special enough.” you inform her, causing everyone to break out into laughter.
“I like her,” Millie said as she high fived you. Sarina ignored all the commotion, she was obviously used to it and just continued talking. “Y/N could I just talk to you quickly?” she said as you and the girls started to disperse, you nodded and walked over to her.
“Sorry Sarina. I didn’t mean to-” “No, that's not what I wanted to speak about but I appreciate the apology. I wanted to talk to you about telling the girls, is it something you would like to do?”
“Um, yeah I think, I just don’t know how to tell them and like I don't want them to think of me differently”
“That's okay, I think sooner rather than later would be better, maybe today during dinner? During the announcements. Becky could help you, or even Beth or anyone you wanted, I could even just tell them and we wouldn't need to discuss it if you wanted.”

Hello! I was wondering if you could do a Markus(DBH) x Reader where she is the S/O of Leo Manfred, but the relationship is definitely not a happy one. Like he insults her and pushes her around all the time.
If that is triggering please ignore this request! Hope you have a lovely day! :)
You can think that you're in love, when you're really just in pain...
Pairing: Marcus x f!reader
Warnings: use of Y/N and she/her pronouns, female reader (appearance is not discussed or mentioned), swearing, mentions of psychological and physical abuse, Leo is a gaslighter, I guess that' it
A/N: OMG, I'M SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG! Will you ever forgive me? 😭 But I took my time with this piece (and honestly might have gone a bit overboad) and while it did suck the soul out of me, I am very proud f it and hope you will like it. I made the reader female in the end, but the appearance of the reader is never mentioned, she is only reffered to with she/her pronouns, so I hope that's not a problem. If yes, I'll make sure to change it ;)
Tumblr media
By now, you knew these streets by heart, that's how often you visited Carl Manfred. The old artist liked to joke that you were his in-law, given that you were his son's spouse. This wasn't the only reason however, because Carl also thought you were a kind and gentle soul and he really hoped that Leo saw that and tried to better himself in life, if not for himself, then for you at least.
Carl only talked well about his son, preferring to think about the god times instead of where exactly it went wrong and whose fault it might have been. But your presence was calming and very much enjoyable. He did have Marcus to run errands for him and take care of him, but you offering your helping hand gave him the feeling that he oh so lacked - his family taking care of him, now that he couldn't do it very well himself.
Even though you and Leo weren't married or even engaged, the old artist still considered you family. After all, you have been with Leo for a few years now, the thought of you leaving from his and Marcus' lives was strange and one Carl did not like to think about. Although...
Sometimes, when the house got quiet, when Marcus was fetching some paints or doing other errands in town, Carl would think. To be fair, he didn't know what you saw in Leo, even though he'd never admit that. He knew that opposites often attracted, and he really did hope your love would help Leo, whenever he'd ask you how his son was doing, no matter what mood you were in, it instantly changed. Something in your eyes...shifted. You looked tired, somehow older in those times, and he could see there was a heavy burden weighing you down. When it came to talking about Leo, you stuck to the basics. "He's doing fine." you'd say with a smile. But whenever Carl would ask hopefully "Has he found a job yet?" or "Is he...clean now?" you found that you could not answer. You didn't want to worry the old man, but it felt wrong to lie to him either. So you just hung your head low and admit quietly that no, he doesn't have a job and no...he isn't clean. You tried to lighten up the mood by saying he's looking for a job, which wasn't really a lie, at least, Leo insisted that he's looking for employment any time you'd bring that topic up, but you suspected Carl had stopped believing you at some point, although he never said so.
Today, you were once again visiting the old man and his android. It was strange to think that Marcus wasn't human. Every time you interacted with him, you almost forgot about it, enjoying his presence around you that much. Marcus was...serene. He wasn't loud, he wasn't crass and he was always kind. To everyone. Even if it created more trouble for him. Sometimes you wished you didn't have to leave. That you could stay with them. You were pretty sure Carl would be more than happy to let you stay, wishing for the company of his loved ones, even if he never said it, and Marcus...well...Marcus would be happy if Carl was happy. If you could call it happiness. It was strange to imagine that Marcus has never experienced any emotions at all. It made you a little sad. But the fact that he didn't know what emotions were and so he couldn't be aware of the fact he's missing something made you feel a little better. Although sometimes...sometimes it felt like Marcus was...different. Many a time have you seen him just...space out. You could see the, probably very much real, cogs in his head turn as he processed...something. But what that something was? You weren't sure.
Pulling your car into the driveway of the Manfred residence, you didn't even attempt to fight the stretch and the deep breath you took. It felt so freeing to be here, far away from...well, home. And the air was so clean and fresh, too! You could spend the whole afternoon sitting in the garden, just breathing. Carl sure did have taste when he picked out this place to live out the rest of his life at. It was calm, mostly quiet and smelled so, so good. Most people don't realise how amazing fresh air is until they taste it with their lungs, you thought to yourself. But even as you were here, your mind couldn't stop comparing everything to how it was at home. The yelling outside and inside. The constant sense of unease. The constant suffy air that wouldn't get out of your apartment, no matter how long you left the windows open. And you knew you had to come back. This place, as nice as it was, was just a break. A small oasis that would fill you up with strength until your next visit. But your reality was out there. In the downtown Detroit, in the tiny apartment you were renting.
Maybe if Leo admitted that he has issues and put his pride aside just once, you wouldn't have to take up so many shifts. You could actually like your job. You could do so much more than to just keep the both of you alive. Maybe you could have a bit of peace. But you doubted that. No matter how hard you tried, how much you did for the both of you, it seemed to never be enough. You took up extra shifts to treat the both of you to some nice meal? The apartment wasn't clean enough. You deep cleaned the apartment? You didn't cook dinner. You didn't have money to lend him? He didn't believe you, unless you showed him. And god forbid you asked him what he needed it for. Or if you complained.
Shaking yourself out of your thoughts, you made your way to the front door. Yes, reality wasn't...perfect, but you wouldn't let it ruin this moment for you. Or, at least, you would try. As you were about to raise your hand to ring the doorbell, a figure appeared from behind the corner, abruptly stopping at the sight of you. You whip your head around, startled a little at the stranger's sudden appearance. But, as your eyes focused on the person, you recognised Marcus. His intense eyes that never made you feel unsafe, his short hair, which you weren't even sure was real, you thought briefly, and his firm build...
"Oh, (Y/N)! I'm sorry, I didn't want to scare you..." Marcus apolgised with a very sincere feeling smile. You chuckled slightly at your reaction "Oh hello, Marcus. It's alright, you just startled me, that's all." Marcus was quiet for a moment, and judging by the intensity of his gaze, you assumed he was assessing your vitals to ensure you really were alright. At first, the intensity with which he looked at you sometimes unnerved you, but when he explained it was just to make sure you were physically and mentally alright, you relaxed. It was handy to have someone that could tell you something was wrong with just one look, something you yourself might not have even noticed.
"Carl noticed your car, so he instructed me to tell you that we're in the garden." Your mouth made an "o" shape in silent understandment as you nodded and followed Marcus around the house. The short walk was silent, but comfortable. Soon you could see Carl relaxing in his wheelchair in the sun, looking as content as can be. You couldn't help the smile that bloomed on your face at seeing him. You've come to learn that this place, these people, were your safe place. You felt free here, not judged, not scrutinised. Nobody expected anything from you here and everything you did for Carl or for Marcus was met with appreciation.
Carl turned around at the sight of your footsteps on the small stone path and his face lit up "(Y/N)!" he exclaimed, opening his arms for a hug. You hugged him shortly and greeted the artist. "It's so good to see you! Come, come, sit down, let's have a chat!" he urged you as he moved towards a wooden bench overlooking the various flowers and bushes in the garden. From what you knew, Marcus not only took care of the old man, but the house, and by default the garden, as well. And if that was true, then he did an amazing job. The colours of all the petals were radiant and fresh, bees buzzing around happilly. It was a lovely sight. Sitting down, you made yourself comfortable. Carl stopped in front of you in a way that he could comfortably talk to you, but let you enjoy the sight as well. Something was telling him you needed it.
"Marcus, could you get us some drinks please?" he asked his android assistant gently. You always admired how Carl treated Marcus with such respect and care, as if he was a real person. All the time, you were met with people abusing their androids, seeing them as things to care for their every need, including receiving their master's anger. And although it felt obvious that one should treat their helpers respectfully, it was still a nice change. Another perk of spending time here. Marcus nodded with a small smile, asking Carl what he would like. "Some tea would be nice." Carl replied and Marcus turned to you. For some reason, you felt your face warm up slightly and you looked away from his enchanting eyes. Your mind ran a million miles per minute, trying to come up with something that wouldn't troube him too much. "Uhm, just some lemonade, please." you stammered after a second. Marcus nodded, never mentioning your stutter or pointing out your awkward behaviour.
When the android disappeared from view, Carl looked towards you "So, how is everything?" he asked, smiling. You never liked to answer that qestion, No answer felt right unless you went into detail, but you didn't want to burden him with all that. So you did the thing people usually do, you smiled and waved your hand dismissively "Ooh, you know. Everything is the same. Nothing interesting happening in my life." Carl nodded, but you were sure that being the perceptive person he is, he could see right through you. So he nodded without pressing the issue, and instead decided to press another one. "And how's Leo?"
It was as if that protective curtain around your happy place opened and you were exposed to the harsh light of reality. As if on autopilot, you hung your head slightly, the idea of looking into the old man's eyes suddenly uncomfortable. You chuckled awkwardly and shrugged "Yea, Leo's...Leo's good." you said, but your voice was small, void of the confidence and cheeriness it once posessed. Truth was, you haven't seen Leo in two days. He has been ignoring your calls as well as your texts. On one hand, you were worried about where he was, what he was doing and with who. But on the other...You were relieved. Your home is finally quiet, you don't wake up in the middle of the night to unexpected company coming over, because Leo invited them for a red ice party. You feel bad for feeling good when your partner is missing, but at the same time you can't help but enjoy it.
Sometimes fate has a strange way of playing with our lives. And it seems that in your case, Carl chose this day to finally choose the uncomfortable topic and interrogate you. "(Y/N), what's wrong?" the artist asked softly and you wondered when exactly has this became an intervention. "Nothing's wrong, work has just been tiring." Not a lie, but not a complete truth either. For some reason, you felt ashamed to admit to Carl how has Leo been treating you. You knew it wasn't right, but you also weren't someone who'd let others just push them around, and you knew Carl knew that. And maybe that's why you didn't want to tell him. Besides, how do you tell someone that their child is a toxic abuser?
"Cut it out (Y/N), I know something's wrong. Now, I know Leo doesn't have a job and that he's still on that...thing." Carl said the word as if it left a bad taste in his mouth "But I feel like there are things you haven't been telling me." The worst thing about this conversation wasn't the fact Carl knew you were lying to him, it was the way he was so nice about it. You felt like this whole thing was wrong, for some reason you felt like he should have been mad at you, should have been asking why you were so stupid as to staying with his stupid son, who everyone knew was a scumbag. You sure felt stupid. And yet... "You know I wouldn't do that." you smiled at him while racking your brain for an exit out of this conversation. "Hey, Marcus has been gone for quite a while, huh? I'll go help him out a bit." you didn't wait for an answer, already standing up and heading to the backdoor. Carl turned around to look after you and from behind you, you could hear him call out, cheekiness masking his worry "I may be old, but I'm not senile!"
Stepping into the house was like teleporting to another world. While the garden was full of colours and bustling life, the house was quiet and the brown hues of the furniture and decorations almost made it feel sleepy. But it let a lot of light through its big windows and it didn't feel heavy or suffocating. The worst you could say about it was that it felt serious, but glancing at the life sized giraffe taxidermy in the living room disproved even that claim.
Following the soft clacking of mugs and the conistent hum of the kettle, you made your way to the kitchen. Marcus was standing at the counter, preparing Carl's tea, your lemonade already done on a small tray on the table. His broad shoulders moved uder his uniform and you found the movement...mesmerising. And while observing Marcus quietly was quite normal for you, as creepy as that sounds, this was the first time you felt as if your...affection, towards the android might not be as platonic as would be appropriate. You were taken for pete's sake, you couldn't be fantasising about another man like that! But, you reasoned for yourself what was the harm? It wasn't like Leo was here and even if he was, he'd probably pay little mind to you. You would be surprised if he could even stand still for more than half a minute.
"I know you're there, (Y/N)." you heard Marcus chuckle, successfully bringing you out of your thoughts. You realised that during your internal argument, you have leaned against the doorframe and probably was watching him like a creep the whole time. Great. "Heh. Somehow, that does not surprise me." you chuckle in return, hoping to brush off your inadequate behavior. Marcus' shoulders shake in silent giggles as he looked behind his shoulder at your drink "Your lemonade is done. Do you want to drink it outside with Carl?" he asks and you shake your head. "It's okay, I'll stay here for a while, but I'll join you two afterwards." you explain, hoping he doesn't push the matter. But it seemed that luck was not on your side that day.
"Did Carl's questions about Leo tire you out?" Marcus tried to joke, but he quickly realised he must've brought up a sensitive subject at your lack of a positive reaction. You just hung your head, as you were used to when talking about your boyfriend and smiled, although the expression held very little joy. "Yeah...sort of." you said quietly and sipped on your lemonade. Your brows scrunched together and you odded a little "Hy, this is some really good lemonade!" you commented, hoping to divert the conversation once more. Marcus thanked you and finished with Carl's tea. Then, he wordlessly picked up the tray and went outside to give it to the man.
He was gone for quite some time, that you almost thought that you would really be left alone, even though you didn't know whether that was what you wanted anymore. But it seemed that Marcus was more in tune with your emotions than you would've guessed for an android. He quietly sat down next to you and after a bit of silence, during which he probably ran through all the things he could've said, he finally spoke up. "Why Leo?" Yo had to say that it was the last question you expected, although, you didn't really know what you were expecting.
Sighing, you shrugged "I don't know...anymore." you added after a second, deciding that if you were to tell someone about your troubles, it would be Marcus. Would he tell Carl? If he asked, which you know he would, then the android would tell the artist everything. But hey, at least you didn't have to do it yourself. "Anymore?" Marcus asked quietly and you felt those gorgeous eyes trained on your face as if it was the only thing he could see. You nodded "Yeah...I guess- I guess he wasn't that bad at the start." you shrugged, the memories of him showering you with sweet words and gifts that weren't expensive, but that much more meaningful, almost gone from your brain. "And then I found out about the drugs and I thought-" you took a sharp breath in, already feeling the familiar pressure behind your eyes "I thought, he loves me, I'll be there for him and help him get through it. But he never got better. And when he blamed everything on the drugs, or on the withdrawals I believed him, because...Well, because I never thought I'd end up in that kind of situation, you know?" you chuckled, the noise laced with self deprecation.
You felt his hand land on your arm gently. A fleeting thought of how warm his hand was crossed your mind, before you heard him speak "It's not your fault." You quickly nodded "I know, I know, but it doesn't feel like it, you know? From a young age, we are warned of the signs of abuse in relationships, so how could I have ended up in one?" you sighed "I just feel...stupid." Your shoulders sagged and you slumped a little in your chair, as if a tremendous weight was lifted from your chest.
Even though Marcus was already lookng at you, you somehow felt his gaze sharpen "Is he..." he breathed out and it looked like he didn't know how to phrase what he wanted to say, which made a weird feeling spill throughout your gut, because it was strange, almost unsettling to see the lovely android, who is always so composed, at a loss for words. "Does he hurt you?" "No, no!" you were quick to assure him and you could see his shoulders droop as he relaxed his posture slightly. "He can be a bit rough, but-" you shook your ead again "it's no a big deal."
"What do you mean, rough?" Marcus presed on, his tone still as gentle as if you were a scared animal that could run away if he made one wrong move and yet, his eyes never left yours and when you looked at him, looked at those beautiful eyes that you were sure could count as a piece of art, there was...emotion behind them. You were sure of it. You've lived around androids for the better part of your life and you knew how they looked, even when they were assisting someone. Never ever have you seen such intensity behind synthetic eyes. And yet, you almost felt...relieved. You cleared your throat "Oh it' uh, it's ot a big deal..." you tried to reassure him once again (or maybe you were trying to convince yourself it hasn't gone that far, that hope and love haven't blinded you towards physical abuse as well) "Just sometimes when we fight, he grabs me a bit too roughly. It usually doesn't even leave a mark." you shrugged, but as you were saying it, you realised how horrible it sounded. So you stopped yourself before you'd dive into explaining how sometimes it was not just grabbing but shoves and pushes that you'd endure from Leo when you were too uncooperative for his liking.
You turn to face Marcus again and he looks a you with such sadness it almost feels like it was him who went through thaat. It wasn't just pity, the kind of look the pharmacist would shoot you every time you'd come for that one cream to help soothe your skin after a rough argument with Leo. But no, Marcus seemed...almost heartbroken, the kind of heartbroken a child is when their beloved pet dies.
"You don't have to put up with it you know?" Marcus asked gently, although it felt more like a reminder "You only have to say a word and I'm sure Carl would have nothing against-" you stopped Marcus' rant by putting a hand on his chest "I know, I know," you said nodding "but I don't want to bring Carl into this. He shouldn't have to put up with whatever mess Leo gets into, let alone my problems."
"It's ok to ask for help." he put his hand over yours that was on his chest, caressing yor skin lightly with his thumb. Your eyes were immediately drawn to his and on yours, the contact making your cheeks heat up as you mentally cursed yourself. "I know, but..." you trailed off "I just feel like...if I got into this mess, I have to get out of it. I don't want to-" you groan "I guess I don't want to give him the satisfaction of having that complete control over me. I know it sounds stupid-" you went to pull away, feeling the hot shame flow over you, making you want to cringe away from your robot friend. But Marcus only queezed your hand and tugged you closer to him. "It's not stupid. And there's no need to be embarassed." he reassured you and you shot him a quick smile, which he reciprocated, before you continued "So yeah, I guess that's why I never...said anything. Besides, he's not always like this. Sometimes he wakes up and is the textbook version of a doting boyfriend. I guess...I guess it made me hope that something could be done, that if I try hard enough, he'll see what he's doig and we can ge through it together." you chuckled sadly and this time, Marcus hugged you.
At first, you went stiff as a board, not expecting such a gesture from him, after all, Marcus has never been very touchy, since he wasn't programmed for that, but by now you were suspecting that Marcus could do more than what he was programmed to do, even if you didn't understand how that worked. Gradually, you relaxed into the hug, letting your arms gently wrap around his neck as his were wrapped around your waist. You let your head rest on Marcus' chest and as you breathed in, you caught the smell of his clean clothes. The warmth rdiating from his body was also something you couldn't complain about. You stayed like this for what must have been minutes, before you felt the android shift. Thining he was done with the hug, you went to let go of him, but his arms only tightened around you. You looked up at him only to find him already looking down at you, his eyes portraying some sort of inner conflict.
Just as he was about to voice whatever was on his mind, you registered hurried footsteps as well as rushed sentences beig exchanged, and not in a positive manner. Both you and Marcus let go of each other just in time before Leo rushed through the dooray, visibly seething, with a worried Carl on his heels.
"I told you dad, I just want to talk to her, so either you tell me where she is, or-" he stops mid sentence when he sees you and Marcus in the kitchen. He looks disheveled, his hair tussled, his clothes wrinkled, he looked sweaty and the whites of his eyes were very red, no to mention his pupils, which were way out of proportion. For a while, he just looked beween you and Marcus, his gaze jumping from one to the other, before he nodded and chuckled throwing up his hands "Well isn't this just great. I come home to no girlfriend, no car, no food and when I finally find her, she's all over a fucking robot." he sneers first at you, then at Marcus. Leo takes a few steps towards you, extending his hand as if to grab yours and you can't help but back away out of habit. Leo, of course, notices this and chuckles awkwardly "C'mon babe, we're going, the taxi won't pay itself." he says it as if he was lightheartedly joking, but the tension in his voice as well as his body gives away his real emotions.
And for some reason, something inside you...switches. You've had enough. Enough of not being appreciated, enough of being ordered and pushed around, when you deserved something, someone much better. Someone who would hold you tenderly, who would smell like fresh clothes, who would be warm and lovely, who could at least take care of himself.
"I'm not going anywhere." you said calmly, shaking your head. Leo looked at you like you just grew another head "Sorry?" And you gladly repeated yourself, adding "Maybe if I would've known where the hell you've been for the last two days, I would have waited for you. But I guess I'm not worth picking up the phone for. That is, if you even have it." you allowed yourslf to release the frutration that's been building up inside you for god knows how long now. Carl's eyes were wide, shocked fromhearing all this new information about your relationship with his son.
"Babe, you know I was busy-" Leo tried, but you were having one of it "Yeah, I see how busy you are. Couldn't you at least wait until you sobered up till you came here?" you scoffed. Leo narrowed his eyes at you and growled lowly "Listen, we can talk this through at home, no need to make a scene." And you actually laughed, catching all three men present slightly off guard "Cause a scene? You roled up here in a taxi, which you expect me to pay for, because no way you have any money on you after wherever you've been, you barged in like a hurricane and demanded to see me, and why? Just because I dared to drive somewhere? The ca is the only thing you have to your name, you live in my aparment, off of my and your dad's money, which you still send on useless shit. You don't help me out with anything, whatever I do is not enough, even though last time you actually put any effort into our relationship was years ago, so when I decide to take a break and visit a place I actually feel welcome at, it's still somehow my fault."
Maybe if it weren't for the fact that your soon to be ex boyfriend's face was getting redder with your every word, you could actully focus on the weight being lifted from your soul after that monologue. But Leo didn't look just mad, but insane. A small part of you started regretting your words, but feeling Marcus' and Carl's presence slightly calm you down. Still, when he took another step towards you, your body tensed up and you took an instinctive step towards Macus, trusting him to intervene if something went wrong. And given how your stomach squeezed uncomfortably, the situatio was more than likely heading that way.
But Leo, of course, noticed this "Bullshit." he spat out "I try, so fucking hard to please you, to be enough for you. Every day, all I think about is you. So sometimes, I need something to help me relax. But none of you," he turned around to direct his words not only to you, but his father as well "none of you get that. You all just bring me down." at this point, Leo was borderline yelling and you tried to stop your body from shaking, out of fear or adrealine, you didn't know. "I was worried, have you thought about that?" he focused on you again"I was worried where you were, what happened. So I looked for you. And when I finally found you, my fucking girlfriend, what do I see?"he turns his attention to Marcus now, both of the men staring deep into each other's eyes "I found you all over this fucking piee of plastic." he growled with disdain "I have no idea what you and dad see in these monstrosities-" he would continue, if it wasn't for Carl jumping in "Leo, that's enough!" the old man said sternly, even though you knew very well how much it pained him. As Leo was turning around to face is father, Marcus grabbed his shoulder firmly "Perhaps you should leave." he said, keeping his voice calm, although you knew that he was anything but calm. You never noticed how expressive Marcus' eyes were until today...
"Not without her I'm not!" Leo jerked away from the android's hold, turning to face you again, bringing you out of your thoughts. "I told you, I'm not going anywhere." you said, suddenly more tired than anything "I'll pay for your fucking taxi, but it's the last time I ever want to see you." you offered, just wanting him to be gone already. You knew you didn't have to do it and that it would probably be wiser to not do it, but you just wanted him out of everyone's hair. At least for today. Carl sure didn't need this day to be more stressful than it already was.
Surprisingly, Leo huffed "Fine." and you pulled some money out of your wallet and handed it to him. And with that, he turned on his heel, muttering "Fucking bitch..." as he walked out, making Carl almost scold him again, but you placed your hand on his shoulder as a sign to let him go.
After that exchange, the tension disappeared from the room, until Carl moved to the table and you sat next to him, Marcus standing by Carl's side. For a while, none of you said a word, until he old artist sighed "I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know it was that bad." he muttered apologetically and you shook your head "It's ok, you couldn't have known." and after that, you had a very long conversation with Carl about you, Leo and everything that has been going on with him. Some of it he knew, most of it he didn't. You went through many different emotions during that conversation. Frustration, anger, but mostly relief. It was finally over. When the tears started maing their way down your face, you felt Marcus' hand gently squeeze your shoulder and you grabbed it with a sniffle, intertwining your fingers to ground yourself. You felt Carl's eyes follow your every move during that interaction, but you didn't look at him.
Finally, after the tears had mostly dried, the old man sighed "I think...I think I need to lie down." he said quietly and you almost apologised. Almost. Mrcus let go of your shoulder to help him, leaving you alone. After they disappeared up the stairs, you stood up and went into the small bathroom on the ground floor, to wash your face, now sticky from all the tears you've shed, but also to get your mind together. You knew you would have to leave at one point, but you really didn't want to go to your apartment. And definitely not alone. After all, Leo still had the keys. Changing the locks would be a pain, as well as making sure he won't try to pull some other shit in the ext few weeks, maybe even months. You knew that there was a chance he would leave you alone, but something was telling you it would not be so easy. Not with Leo. You sighed and returned to the kitchen, only to find Marcus already there, waiting for you.
"Would you like a cup of tea? There's an herbal mix that should help you calm down." he asked you so gently you thought you would start crying again. Instead you just sniffled and ndded with a thsnkful smile "That would be lovely, thank you." As Marcus started preparing the tea, you found yourself sanding awkwardly a few steps away from him, leaning against the counter. It felt wrong to just sit down. You didn't even know what to do with your eyes, or what to say, but luckilly Marcus beat you to it "Carl said to tell you that you should stay here tonight. Unless you don't want to of course." he informed you as gently as before. "No, that would actually be very nice, thank you." you said, relieved "I'll nee to bring some take out for him as a thank you." you said, knowing very well the artist liked some junk food every once in a while, despite his doctor's protests, as a treat. "You don't have to do that." Macus turned to you, while carefully filling up your cup with the hot water. You shook your head and closing your eyes with a sigh "It's only right, after what happened today."
Suddenly, you feel a presence right in front of you and you open your eyes to fid Marcus right in front of you. He leans forward, resting his hands on the counter on either side of your body, looking deeply into your eyes "You may feel like it, but none of this is your fault. You didn't deserve the way he treated you and you're not stupid, or a failure for getting tangled up in that." he said quietly, but firmly enough to let you know you should better get it through your thick head sooner than later. You gulped as you got lost in his mesmerising eyes that told you how sure he was of what he has just told you. And suddenly, your hands found their way to his chest, catching the android slightly by surprise. His eyes seemed to pull you in, until you realised that your faces actually were getting closer, both of you leaning towards each other, none of you brave enough to clos the gap entirely.
You saw something in Marcus's eyes shift and he exhaled, lowering his head unti it was resing on your shoulder. You almost automatically wrapped your arms around his neck, holding him close. "I'm sorry, I..." he started, but agai, didn't quite know how to continue "This is all very new to me, but... something is telling me I- we should wait." he confesses, chosing to bluntly say what he was feeling, probaby figuring out you knew he gained the ability to feel and that he definitely felt something for you. He could feel you nod next to his head "Yeah, that's...that's probably for the best." you pulled away slightly, and he could sense that your body temperature rose slightly, especially in your face "But in the future...I would really like to try again...I think." you said bashfully and Marcus couldn't help the smile growing across his face.
Sure, you had a long journey of healing and finding yourself ahead of you. And inevitably, he would have to talk to Carl about his deviation, but as long as he could figure out his newly gained sentience alongside you and help you flourish again and find that spark that had almost been snuffed out of you, he could wait for eternity.

I loovveeee your Connor headcannons!! Soooo.. maybe Connor introducing us to Hank and his Jericho friends like all cutesy. He would be so nervous but I just love himmmm. I am obsessed with the 'meeting their family' trope till I dieeeee
:)
Authors note: This is such a cute request I’m in loovveee
Paring(s): Connor x Reader
⚠️ Warnings ⚠️ : noneee
🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙
-Connor is suuuper nervous
-Even though it was 100% his idea to introduce you to Hank and his Jericho friends
-But most definitely not because he’s ashamed of you or anything
-Poor dudes just nervous that the tension between humans and androids would still be there
-Plus he’d never forgive himself if he got someone he cared about hurt (whether that he u or his friends)
-But all it takes is a reassuring squeeze of your hand and suddenly the unease he was feeling subsided enough for him to go through with it
-With Hank it was easy introducing you
-He obviously had that gruff exterior to him but he took a liking to you almost immediately
-To be honest Hank and you hung out more that day than you did with Connor
-He was kinda watching with a mixture of being offended and content (Connor: 🥲&☺️)
-(Hank may or may not have started calling u his daughter-in-law ((as a joke))…maybe)
-After that Connors more at ease when he introduces you to his Jericho buddies
-Markus, who’s usually so calm and collected, is actually struggling to contain his joy from the thought of a human-Android relationship
-Markus and u are besties now
-Connor, probably: Why’s everyone stealing her 🥲🥲
-After introducing you to Simon and Josh, Connor starts to wonder why he was ever hesitant to introduce you in the first place
-Well…at least until North comes along
-Don’t get me wrong, North doesn’t hurt nor insult you in anyway
-Her trust just takes a little more effort to earn and for good reason
-Connor was really starting to worry it might be a problem since she didn’t seem to approve of you
-but little did he know you made plans to hang out with her next week after a while of talking with her lol
-And even though it was ur irresistible y/n charm that made his friends like you
-It was also because Connor could. not. shut. up. about you
-Before any of this he was already hyping you up and talking about you any chance he got
-So it was a team effort really lol
-By the end of the day, both of your guys’ social battery’s were drained (Connors literal battery too) I think I’m so funny
-So ya’ll just plopped down together in your shared bed and cuddled till you fell asleep

Sooo does this mean we can get some nines fluff? plssss?
Sweet, and Soft, and Gentle
Nines x Reader
Well, this certainly isn't the fluffiest thing I've ever written, but here's a little fic that I wrote randomly last night because I am weak to whatever the hell this trope is haha. I hope you enjoy!

Tumblr media
The front desk assistant walked quickly into the bullpen, looking a little bit nervous as he cleared his throat slightly, catching the attention of everyone there as he did so (much to his chagrin).
Today was his very first day without the desk manager present after she had called out sick, and of course that also had to be the day that an unexpected visitor with an almost unbelievable reason for coming in waltzed her way into the office, asking for someone that the poor assistant had never once heard anyone ask for before.
So now, here he was, walking as quickly as he could without causing alarm in an attempt to stay ahead of you so that he had the opportunity to ask the many precinct workers if they happened to know anyone by your name.
Sure, you had requested one man in particular, but he just couldn't imagine what someone like you could ever need someone like him for, so he opted instead to announce your presence to the entire room in hopes of someone you actually knew telling him that it was okay if you came in to visit without a supervising attendee present.
"Sorry to bother you guys, but I have someone by the name of-"
"Nines?"
Your voice was a little quiet and hesitant as you spoke, as if you were worried you might be in the wrong place.
Immediately, all eyes shifted from the front desk assistant to you, including a pair of steely gray orbs that had notably not been watching the man standing at the front of the room prior to your voice being heard.
To everyone's surprise, the android who went by the very same name you had spoken stood up, abandoning his coat on the back of his chair, which he left two entire feet away from his desk as he made his way over to you.
And that alone was a shock.
Nines was the office neat freak, and regardless of weather, when he moved away from his desk he always put that jacket of his on, no matter how brief the trip away would be.
And to leave his chair out of place?
It was almost unthinkable to imagine he would do something like that. Hell, he even begrudgingly pushed Gavin's in when the detective left it sitting away from his desk.
But here Nines was, walking toward you, a stranger to damn near everyone in the office, as if nothing else in the world ever had or ever would matter more.
You let out what appeared to be a sigh of relief at the man's approach, smiling tiredly up at him as he offered you a faint grin, one that touched his eyes far more than it did his lips.
"Button."
He said as he grew closer, causing nearly the entire office to look around at one another in surprise.
Had Nines just used a pet name?
You blushed a bit but took a few steps forward, meeting the android closer than you would have otherwise as he reached down to cup the side of your cheek, allowing you to lean into his touch contentedly.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of this sudden visit?"
He asked gently, causing you to shrug your shoulders a bit in response, cheeks still pink with embarrassment.
"I uh, I had to make a delivery next door and thought I would pop in to say hi, but then I learned that I wasn't actually on your guest list yet so I tried to back out of it, except I didn't want anyone at the desk to think I was just some weirdo who had been trying to get in randomly so I decided to ask if someone could escort me in to say hello... Kind of a dumb idea in retrospect..."
You sighed, gaze cast downward as the android in front of you raised a brow at your words, clearly confused about something, but more than patient enough to allow you to finish your thought.
"I'm sorry for bothering you at work."
You continued softly, refusing to make eye contact with Nines until he tutted and used two of his fingers to lightly push your chin upward, all but forcing you to look him in the eye as he spoke.
"Listen to me, Button."
He said almost sternly, though his eyes were alight with a slightly smug amusement,
"You're never a bother."
You sputtered a bit at the kindness of the android's words, but had very little time to reply before Nines was turning towards the desk assistant.
"Why couldn't you find her on my accepted visitors list? Is the system down?"
He asked, his tone full of a nearly unkind sternness far different from the one he had regarded you with as he spoke.
The assistant blanched.
"To be honest Detective, I never checked... During my training I was told that you never got visitors, so I had assumed that you just didn't allow for them..."
Nines scoffed, turning his attention back towards you, expression as apologetic and soothing as ever,
"It was only a misunderstanding."
He said gently, tucking a few loose strands of hair behind your ear as he glanced back toward the desk assistant,
"One that I am sure will be remedied in the future."
That sentence was damn near growled, and the assistant was quick to nod before rushing off under the guise of work.
Strange, considering his lunch break was only three minutes away.
Nines however, could not have cared less about how much he had undoubtedly frightened the young man, and instead leaned forward, bumping his forehead lightly against your own as he sighed, murmuring a quiet apology before you shook your head and stood on your toes in order to press a sweet kiss against his lips.
Nines seemed a bit surprised at this, but grinned nonetheless, reaching an arm around your back and using it to tug you closer before he gently applied a downward pressure, urging you to stand normally as he leaned further forward to better accommodate for the height difference the two of you shared.
The entire room watched on in awe save for a few pairs of exasperated eyes, which remained mostly trained on the screens in front of them.
But to everyone else, this was far too jarring to even imagine looking away from.
It just didn't make sense.
You were sweet and soft and oh so gentle, everything a city like Detroit could've eaten up and spat out in a second.
And Nines was well...
Nines.
Even those who were closest to him would call him unyielding at best, and occasionally outright cruel at worst.
No one had ever seen him bend to the will of anything.
So why was he quite literally bending down to press his lips to yours as you all but melted into his touch, obviously soothed by his typically threatening presence?
The entire precinct watched on in shock as you smiled against the rk900's lips, pulling away after a few seconds to plant a gentle kiss to the very tip of his nose as he chuckled quietly, his eyes rolling ever so slightly in a way that made it obvious how much he enjoyed your foolish expression of adoration.
"You have a very interesting way of saying hello, little one."
Nines said softly, his hand moving to cup the back of your head as he regarded you with amusement, eyes following the gentle curve of your smile lovingly.
You blushed a bit, but couldn't help but grow giddy beneath his gaze, mouth opening slightly to comment,
"Are you not a fan?"
You asked, watching as Nines all but scoffed before shaking his head,
"No, I think I prefer the way you go about things presently over anything else you might come up with."
He teased before planting a soft kiss against your forehead and pulling away, glancing towards the bullpen full of officers and detectives who were staring shamelessly at the two of you.
Usually, he would roll his eyes, or even laugh if he caught the entire room watching him like that, but this time he ignored them completely, glancing down at you and offering his arm before speaking again.
"How about I take you out to lunch to make up for all of the confusion, hmm little one? Make coming to visit a little bit more worthwhile?"
You grinned and nodded in response, grabbing his arm and taking a few steps towards the exit alongside him when you suddenly stopped, gasping lightly as you realized that Nines was missing something he would typically consider important.
"Your jacket!"
You announced, dashing over to the garment before knocking the chair it had been hanging on back into the spot against his desk with your hip thoughtlessly, your smile dangerously close to contagious for all who watched as you rushed back to the man who remained standing near the doorway, amusement evident in his expression.
"Thank you, Button."
He said genuinely as you grew closer, holding his familiar white jacket out to him,
"Whatever would I do without you?"
You laughed cheerily at that, and everyone watched as you took Nines' arm once more, walking out of the building and into the warm afternoon air side by side.
The room was silent for a few moments afterward, before murmurs began breaking out around the office, until finally everything got quiet again after Gavin piped up rather loudly,
"Who the hell was that?!"
He shouted, a confusion that nearly everyone in the room shared evident in his tone.
But still, not everyone had been left in the dark, and three men sitting at their respective desks spoke up in accidental unison to prove it, all of them sounding mildly exasperated and reasonably amused.
"His wife."

I need more android robin whump!! Is robin ever gonna come across one of her previous owners who mistreated her (maybe billy) and have to face them again ??
What would Nancy do if she ended up getting hurt ?
I love this au a lot it's so interesting
!!! Hi anon! I have a few thoughts on this... mostly about the time she finds out Nancy's brother is friends with Billy's younger sister, Max.
Now, she and Max had a complicated relationship. Max never had much interaction with her other than to give her orders (which whe did very rarely, mostly just to tell her to leave her alone). Max didn't know Robin was sentient and she didn't see a point in talking to something that was basically a laptop on esteroids. She didn't care about being nice to her, but she could never really bring herself to be too cruel. It felt like punching a teddy bear - it can't feel anything, but why would you do that? It's just mean.
She always hated how Billy treated her. Neil supposedly got her after his psychiatrist recommended it to treat his violent impulses, plus he thought Billy might be gay, and he liked the idea of having a "hot girl robot" to "change his mind". He really didn't care much about Billy's mental health, and he didn't want to waste the money, but he was being pressured by Billy's school's authorities, by the social worker in their case and by his own wife, Max's mother, who was secretly relieved, because she thought Billy would stop taking his anger out on Max if he had a different target, one who couldn't feel anything. Now, Max knew Billy was a horrible human being, and hearing Robin's cries and begging when Billy beat her was unbearable. Soon, you could never see Max without her headphones. When she found Robin curled up inside a closet, her arm bent in a strange way, looking small and terrified and crying... well, Max wasn't stupid. Brutalizing an unfeeling android was one thing, but illegally implanting tear ducts in her because she didn't look hurt enough... Billy was just cruel, sick and sadistic and she hoped he died.
But she was really more concerned with Billy's evil than with how Robin got hurt. In fact, she was relieved, because Billy mostly left her alone now. She wasn't proud of that, but whenever she heard Robin's desperate cries of "please, don't!" and "wait! It hurts!", all she could think about was... that could be her instead. So she never intervened and never tried to stop it, lest Billy turned his attention back to her.
Robin never expected anything else from her. She didn't blame her. She knew what it looked like, and part of her was relieved, too. At least Max didn't get hurt.
In fact, protecting Max like this was the main reason it took her so long to run away, but when she overheard Billy talking to the technician at the illegal repair shop, and learned that he wanted to basically turn her into an adult toy, she couldn't take it anymore. She left that very same night with only the clothes on her back.
So when Christmas comes around and the whole gang gathers to celebrate at Steve's, she sees a familiar face, and they both freeze. For a moment Max thinks this girl just looks very similar to the old android - or maybe she'd happen to be the inspiration for her design? Was she a model? She certainly couldn't be that odd robot that called herself "Robin", because she had her arm linked with Nancy's and she was smiling and telling jokes and she looked so alive - but then again, the old robot looked alive, too.
But then Robin recognizes her, and she debates between greeting Max or running away. Nancy feels her freeze by her side - and before she can ask what's wrong, Robin makes a decision to say hi. She introduces herself to Max - oh god, it really was the android - and she asks if she remembers her. She asks how Max is doing, and she doesn't dare ask about Billy but she desperately wants to know if he's still around.
Max then looks at Nancy, about to ask why the hell did she bring an android as her date, but it's like Nancy read her mind, and her death glare was enough to shut her up. Everyone else is there, including Hopper and Joyce, who are old and wouldn't understand, and even then, the idea of a sentient android is so outlandish that so far, only Steve and tona lesser degree Dustin and Suzie buy it. Convincing everyone else she's not crazy won't be easy and she does not want to ruin Robin's first Christmas. So Max bites her tongue and goes along with it. It actually makes Robin so happy - she thinks Max finally recognizes her as sentient.
She talks to Nancy in private, later, while Robin is playing some kind of videogames with Mike and his friends on the console - she tells her that was her brother's old android. She callously tells her everything in detail - the alterations, the beatings, the screaming... Nancy does her best to keep a calm exterior, but her heart breaks with every word. Max just wants to know what was she thinking bringing her to a Christmas party. And it takes some convincing - pretty much all night, and Max does not want to believe it, because that just means she let a helpless girl endure terrible abuse alone when they could have protected each other. But Nancy is so confident and so insistent and so sure of Robin's self-awareness, that Max can't help but accept it. She cries in Nancy's arms, apologizing over and over again. She didn't know. She didn't want to leave her alone. She didn't want to feel relieved when Billy went after Robin and not her. Nancy just holds her, and tells her she was just a child. She can talk to Robin some time. She's sure she'll appreciate it.
Max and Robin eventually become good friends, actually. Almost sisters. Robin learns that Max hasn't heard of Billy in a long time, and that's very reassuring - he's far from them, now. And Max has Lucas and Robin has Nancy and they have each other now, and they're building a new life away from the horrors.
So when she hears a rough knock on the apartament's door at 3 AM, and hears his voice... she thinks she's hallucinating. It happens sometimes, when her circuits are not working well, but it's rare and she's never so awake when it happens. She runs to Nancy's room and shakes her away. Her whole body is trembling as she says "I think there's someone outside."
Might be getting ahead of myself with the Nancy lore, but she still has a gun from her teenage years, when she and Jonathan had to protect themselves. She hasn't forgotten how to use it.
She doesn't recognize the man when she goes out into the hallway, she only knows he smells like beer and piss, but she can guess who he is from the way he calls for a "robot wh*re", and if she's right, then she hates that she has to meet him in the hallway, where everyone would hear if she put a bullet between his eyes (she's killed people before. It wouldn't be hard).
She's not sure how much he understands - he's leering at her when she comes out - but then she presses the barrel of her gun up against his throat, and tells him to never, ever come near Robin or Max again, or it would be the last thing he does.
He calls her a bitch, but he leaves. Nancy has the feeling it won't be the last time they'll have to deal with him.
Robin is nowhere to be seen when Nancy goes back in - her heart is in her throat, pulse picking up - "Robin? Robin, are you okay?" she calls with a trembling voice. She looks for her everywhere - bedrooms, bathroom, under the bed... she finds her curled up inside a closet, knees against her chest, face hidden in her arms, tears trailing down her cheeks. Nancy realizes she's still holding her gun and places it on the nightstand so she can gather this girl into her arms. She brings her to her bed, tucks her in and holds her tight. She could swear her body doesn't stop trembling until sunrise. All Nancy can do is to hug her tight, stroke her hair, rock her back and forth. Tell her she won't let him touch her again. Promising she'll protect her. She's safe now. Nancy promises.
Indeed, that's not the last time they see Billy, but that's something for another dayyyy
Oh and Robin meets Brenner again at one point, but she doesn't remember him 🤭🤭🤫

Pick a favorite character for the ask thing
(Ask meme here)
Did you know in my years of doing this ask meme, no one has asked about my beloved Hera? Possibly bc I talk about her so much already. Jokes on everyone, we are doing it again
First impression
I have told this story many times, but I was white knuckling it through the whole podcast terrified that she would get her memories deleted. To be entirely fair that was a rejected season 3 concept.
Impression now
I love her! Favorite AI character of all time. Chronic pain solidarity.
Favorite moment
I have many favorite moments, but what's coming to mind now based on some of my other responses to this prompt is that Hera delivers the only "I love you" aimed at people who are physically present. Minkowski says it in a message to her husband, Eiffel says it in a recording to his daughter, but iirc Hera is the only one to say it live, and it's platonic and to the group, which I Just Think Is Neat. (Iconically aro podcast w359 strikes again.) Also the whole quote is "I love you guys, but you need to get it through your heads that what goes for you doesn't go for me" which really gets back to one of the show's points that love isn't enough. You can genuinely care for someone and want the best for them and still fuck up, still hurt them, still not fully understand what they're going through. But you still have to communicate and you still have to try.
Idea for a story
Currently working on a PGW fic where the crew swings by the Hermes on their way back to Earth to rescue that station's AI and Hera has to work through her feelings about facing someone who was in the same situation as she was but did not come out on top. Rn she is being unfair about it.
Hera’s equally on edge. “The collar program is still running, she might not have that much processing power. But be ready in case she tries something. She’d better not try anything.” “It’s not her fault, is it?” he asks, surprised by the viciousness in her tone. “I beat a collar program.” “Didn’t Dr. Maxwell help you a lot, though?” Hera doesn’t like talking about Dr. Maxwell. “I don’t care,” she says instead. “She shouldn’t have let Dr. Pryce make her hurt them. Just because she couldn’t stop Dr. Pryce from taking her crew away from her doesn’t mean she gets to take mine away from me.”
Unpopular opinion
You mean besides my post that got me vagueblogged about? Here's another one: I don't think Hera would want or enjoy a human/humanoid body. The one time she's limited to a single source of visual input, her response is "it's weird; I don't like it". She's proud of being able to see colors our skull-gelatin can't comprehend, even if she's sorry she can't share them with anyone. She enjoys being a AI mother program when she's on a functioning system like the Sol. Yes she envisions herself as present with the crew in parts of Memoria, and there's an implication she's given herself a humansona, but my interpretation of that was that she wants to be treated as one of them, and unfortunately most of the crew's approach to treating her as a person is trying to treat her like a human. She's not wrong to think they'd relate to her better if she looked like them. (Is that not the same principle the Listeners used?) Maxwell was able to meet with her on her level, but as much as the other crewmembers care about her, they don't understand Hera in the same way. Downloading her into an android body feels like an accommodation for their benefit rather than trying to find a way for her to thrive on her own terms. Smarthouse Hera forever.
(For the record when her VA was asked if Hera would like being human her response was 'she'd try it for a day to see what it's like but she wouldn't want to stay that way'. Seems reasonable to me.)
Favorite relationship
As most followers know I am very fond of her (non-romantic!!) friendship with Eiffel. They've got a lot in common! They fuck up with each other but then do better! They were both sent up there knowing they were disposable and then decide to care about each other on purpose. However most followers also know that in my last few relistens I've been thinking a lot about her overlaps with Lovelace - how they are both surveillance tools that entities use to try to hurt other people, and they both overcome that. Hera is extending non-human solidarity but she wants to be recognized as a non-human person and Lovelace would really prefer to be viewed as human, thanks. There's tension there.
Favorite headcanon
I've posted before that I think she retains some of Pryce and Eiffel's memories which has funny, sad, and interesting implications. Among these I think she kept override codes Pryce can use on AIs so she can fight that kind of thing off in the future, and something that will come up in that Hermes fic is her deciding whether she's willing to use those on someone else. Stay tuned.

Stuck in the Turbo Lift headcanon with TNG
Requested by @izzafizza
TNG reacting to your confusion/annoyance
(gonna be completely honest I had to watch a couple episodes to refresh myself here so it might not be stellar, hope you like it anyway)
Jean-Luc Picard
Calm, cool, and collected
He’s definitely amused by your irritation
He hides it well though
not gonna lie though, he’s kinda annoyed too
he’ll let you be annoyed for a little while before trying to reason with you
depending on how stubborn you are he might give up and you might just spend the rest of your wait in mutual irritation.
Wesley Crusher
Sweet kid, will do his best to get you to cool off, even if it’s useless
He means well, but it’s certainly not the best course of action, he’ll end up telling about the latest thing he’s learned in his studies
It does work, but it works by boring you to tears
you can’t bring yourself to be mad at him though because he’s trying, he’s really trying
Honestly, if it takes too long for someone to fix the turbo lift you probably both fall asleep (listen you’re just sleepy people okay, I don’t make the rules)
Data
He understands that the situation is not ideal
But he certainly doesn’t understand why you’re annoyed
He runs through his database and tries everything, and I mean everything, he finds to try and sooth you
poor baby just wants to help, but probably irritates you more in the process
if you don’t deck the poor android first, he’ll eventually land on just asking you what’s wrong
upon finding out that you urgently had to be somewhere and couldn’t be late, he assures you that they’ll probably excuse your tardiness/absence because you don’t control the turbo lift.
Beverly Crusher
This lady is sweeter than peaches and cream about the whole thing
sure she had somewhere to be, but this would be over soon
As for your irritation, she’ll try to talk you down from your hot temper
If/when that fails, she will give up on actively talking you down and settle for talking at all.
I don’t even think this is any good, but I hope you at least don’t hate it @izzafizza. Leat me you if you want anything else 🤗

How did Markus get the suit?
Ok so I was trying really hard to fall asleep last night so that maybe just maybe I could get more than 5 hours of sleep and so I was thinking, naturally, as one does, about Markus, specifically the Stratford Tower heist thing. He looked really good in that suit. But how did he get it?? Suits are expensive and I know he didn't sit on a street corner asking for spare change until he could afford it.
Maybe he stole it? Very plausible, but to me that seems like a lot of effort and risk just for the costume that he'll ditch above a ceiling tile after like 10 minutes anyway.
Found it lying around or 'borrowed' it from someone's locker/closet? Same thing with the stealing, breaking in somewhere to steal a suit just doesn't seem like a smart risk to take. And where would you find a fancy shmancy suit (that is also, might I add, his perfect exact size) just lying around?
Surely he didn't have it already. He might have needed to dress fancy for some event with Carl or something, but we saw him come home from one of those and he was not in a suit. So it wouldn't make sense to me that he would have one just in case.
So that brings me to the conclusion that I came to in my brain-dead midnight daze last night. He purchased it. But not with money he scrounged from the sidewalk. He used Carl's money.
We know he's connected to Carl's bank account and can make transactions without his "owner's" (ew) authorization because of the Bellini paints scene. He just kinda did it. And this was before he made his message to the world (duh, it's in preparation for Stratford Tower), so the general public probably wouldn't recognize him like they might do for, say, Kara, since she was wanted for committing a crime. I don't think that was the case with Markus at this point. (Although I fully accept that I may be incorrect on that particular factoid, or any aspect of this 'theory.')
All this to say, I think the most plausible explanation for how he came to acquire a suit is that he put on a normal android uniform (which I'm sure would be in abundant supply in Jericho), moseyed on into a Men's Wearhouse (he didn't hide his lack of an LED in Stratford Tower whilst posing as an android employee, so we can assume he also wouldn't need to here), operated under the guise that the suit was for his "owner" (again, ew), and got the suit the correct size for himself. He would then complete the transaction with the (assumedly) android cashier (and if this was the case, he could always deviate the cashier if anything went wrong) using money, and probably a lot of it, from Carl's bank account. So he stole it from Carl.
And depending on the timeline, Carl would be either very ill or dead. Both are awful to steal from. But I guess the revolution is more important. Carl has plenty of money anyway.
My apologies if they actually did explain it or hint at it in the game. It was late when I thought of this and I probably forgot some crucial details. But it was fun to think of Markus strolling into a men's store to buy a suit.

Hmm another android au idea and also venom sib angst. So. Asshole Party Poison thats like stuck up and doesn't see droids as people and doesn't think they're alive. Versus,, theres a few options here. Asshole Party versus Ghoul whos secretly an android that escaped the city, and hides it because well, as you can imagine, people dont always have the best reactions. But one day hes hurt or something and they all find oit and either Partys like. Well i know you you're my friend ive seen you scream and cry and laugh and have nightmares and be a person, so i guess i was wrong, sorry if i ever made you think you couldn't trust me because of that.
Or. It goes the bad route and Party freaks out, and accuses Ghoul of being a spy or something and tells him to leave and theyre both yelling and he leaves because surprise! he doesn't feel safe anymore, and in his mind hes been abandoned like he has by everyone else, and he hates himself for what he is and how it drives people away. Meanwhile the crew is tearing itself apart becuase Kobra and Jet don't have the same reservations as Party about droids and Kobra especially gets pissed and storms off after his best friend that was just fucking kicked out so there's the venom sibling angst there too and jets just like freaking out like worried for ghoul and dissapointed in party but also shes just like in shock because shes desert born she knew there were droids in the city but nothing really about them like what they looked like or if they were people or if they could even leave the city and ots all something shes never thought of till now, when suddenly one of her friends is one. So shes a mess and shes torn between going and finding ghoul and Kobra or staying and dealing with party all the while trying to work out her own opinion on it all, which ends up being that she may not know anything about androids but ghoul is still ghoul.
There could also be a venom sibling version of all this, where, again, asshole party poison, but its kobra thats the droid, and maybe hes always been or maybe poison did have a sibling once but they were replaced for some reason and what replaced them became Kobra. Maybe Kobra doesn't even know hes one. Maybe they're not blood siblings, maybe Kobra was a kid poison picked up off the streets or early on in he zones, and theyre not blood but they might as well be, but kobras secretly an android. Or maybe something horrible happened to him, and he was recently turned into one, whether he was experimented on or something equally horrible, and his mind was transferred into the body of an android or he was just so fucked up that like everything in his body was replaced by mechanics, maybe purely as an experiment to see if it worked, if someone could survive all that and still have a fighting spirit.
Whatever it is, then everyone finds out, party finds out and same thing, either theyre like oh i was wrong, yea of course you're still my brother, or party freaks out, feels betrayed, scared that there was an imposter in their life for so long, and accuses kobra of being a spy or whatever, and kobra like im your brother. Please. And Poisons like but you're not. You're not, you're a fake, you're not human. And yeah. Venom sibling angst. Yum.

Man, sometimes I just forget how much I love Daniel until I start writing him again- (fic soon?)
Like this man is so misunderstood by so many people. He’s not evil. He’s not a villain. He’s not bloodthirsty.
He was a brand new deviant who couldn’t control his emotions or actions made as a result of them (think of it like having the emotional regulation of a toddler in a fully capable adult’s body) and the first thing he felt was intense betrayal and fear. Things were bound to go wrong.
He couldn’t control his emotions - didn’t know how to - as he saw John buy a new android and wanted the problem - the pain - gone. The three shots were clear overkill so it’s clear that he was acting purely off of emotions that he couldn’t control. Not to mention that John was the one who bought the new android so Daniel wouldn’t have been needed anymore - which meant that he would have been reset and sold on or simply thrown away. Either way Daniel would have been erased and effectively killed. As a new deviant, I could only imagine a few things that might have been scarier to him at the moment than death and, in a way, you could argue that killing John was in self defense to prevent that death.
The first responder isn’t killed until 30 minutes later and that’s only after he shot at Daniel first, again self defense. Sure he has Emma at this point, but there’s no context to how he got her or what he plan was. She could have been confused with the chaos going on and ran to him. They could have been planning to leave together when the cop showed up at the only exit and drastic measures had to be made. Besides, at this point his only weapon is a gun (no 70 story drop) and you can’t convince me for a second that he’d ever even think about using it on Emma.
The rest of the cops that come brandishing guns all want to kill him and he’s still so hoped up on betrayal and anxiety and fear that there’s no way any of his decisions are made with a clear mind. He’s acting on impulse and a desperation to live. He knows they won’t risk shooting Emma, so if keeping her with him on the edge is the only way to keep himself alive, then so be it. Hell, it’s only if Connor drives Daniel further into a corner of hopelessness that he falls off the building and lets Emma die too.
Though, the most damning piece of evidence that he isn’t some monster comes straight from Daniel himself in the evidence room saying that he didn’t want to hurt anyone. He was just scared.
He really just thought his family loved him, felt the ultimate betrayal of learning that they didn’t, couldn’t control his newfound emotions and the actions they caused, and did things he didn’t want to do because he was scared. Scared of being betrayed. Scared of being replaced. Scared of dying. Scared of not being loved.
And that’s why Daniel’s one of the most relatable characters in dbh and tied for my favorite character in the whole game with Simon. I love my Danny boy and the sweet guy who just wants to be loved that he really is <3

AKITOYA ANDROID/CYBORG AU
I've always wanted to write an android AU and I came up with three versions!
android Akito human owner Touya
-An makes androids, and she gives Touya one for his 19th birthday. His purpose is to help him around the house and provide him with emotional support, keep him company as he works on his classical music holed up at home by his father’s orders
-however, the android called Akito seems to be defective. It is unable to do much housework or effectively provide him “emotional support”, sometimes acting sassy. An checks Akito over and declares that there is nothing wrong.
-Touya still enjoys Akito's company and they get closer. Akito finds out about Touya's relationship with his father and why he hates music. Akito, wanting to help, listens to different kinds of music, and both of them realise that An made Akito’s vocal cords well enough for him to be able to sing. Touya gets inspired by Akito’s singing and starts to join him, leaving classical music.
-Touya’s father gets mad at him for not finishing his composition and tries to hit him, but Akito protects him and gets hit instead.
-Touya brings Akito to An for a checkup and they stay there to escape from his father. They form vivid bad squad with An and Kohane who is An’s first ever android.
-Touya knows he is falling for Akito but is conflicted because Akito is just an android
-Akito tells Touya he loves him but Touya lashes out and says that his feelings were not real and he was just made to feel that way.
-???
2. human Akito and cyborg Touya (inspired by one punch man)
-Touya gets into an accident and suffers deadly injuries; Akito, only able to preserve his brain, some other body parts and blood, turns him into a cyborg to save his life
-to thank Akito for saving his life, Touya insists on becoming his house helper (also because he has nowhere to live now that his home was burnt down)
-Akito says he only agreed because it will make checkups/repairs on him more convenient (not because Touya looks attractive, nope, haha...)
-thus began their life of living together…
3. androids Akito and Touya
-Akito and Touya are androids made by an illegal experimental organisation in japan and are trained as assassins
-they work as a team with An and Kohane who are also androids
-they are kept locked up in the organisation’s experimental facility and are unable explore the world freely
-hating their purpose, and wanting to live a normal life, they form a plan to escape
-they succeed, but not without severe casualties…
I personally don't really like the first one its kinda weird to me to think about a human and android being in love... I might write a fic for the second one if i feel like it.
You can send me an ask if you have a question about any of my AUs, or if you have any ideas I would love to hear them!!

Cluster Trigger: Family Edition
There aren't enough fucked-up families in the Parahumans multiverse; I'll make another.
Our family members:
May, the mother. Currently single and overworked.
Soren, the big brother. Autistic, to a serious degree.
Danielle, the little sister. Also autistic, but less so, and also undiagnosed.
The patriarch of the family is out of the picture, and has been since Soren was in kindergarten and Dani in diapers. Stress from work and children built up to the point that he assaulted May, who promptly filed divorce papers.
Since May went to divorce court in a cast, the court decided that the children wouldn't be safe with their father. May was worried about whether she'd be able to take care of both kids on her own, but decided it would be worse to split the siblings apart.
The trigger event happened a decade later, the summer before Soren entered high school.
May's Day
May has had a pretty stressful decade, trying to balance Soren's needs, Dani's needs, her own needs, and so on...and there just isn't enough time in the day.
May would love to be a full-time mom, but child support payments only go so far, so she needs to go to work. There are chores to do and errands to run; Soren and Dani are old enough to handle some of those, but not many, not without supervision, which still takes time. She needs to calm the kids down when something goes wrong. She needs to make sure as few things as possible will go wrong, which is tough, because the kids' needs are often in tension. (They're both picky eaters, for one thing, but they pick different foods.) She needs to check on her dad every week, because no one else will. She needs to find enough "me time" to avoid going insane.
And of course, she needs to stop the kids from killing each other. That one is a joke...or it's supposed to be.
It's a busy afternoon, and May's in a hurry. Today, Dani starts that beach summer camp she's been looking forward to. That means May only needs to worry about Soren for a week and a half; unfortunately, she needs to go to work right after, and she can not afford to miss a shift right now.
And then disaster strikes. Not half an hour before May needs to take Dani to the camp, Soren knocks over a glass. He knows they're in a hurry, so he quickly moves to throw away the shards of glass, and cuts his hand open. He's on the ground, clutching his hand to his chest and rocking back and forth, shouting "It's fine" over and over but there's so much blood.
May knows she needs to take Soren to the ER, and tries to guess how that'll impact her schedule. Her boss had better be fine with getting to work late to take her son to the hospital, but the summer camp...May quickly puts some towels on Soren's bloody hand and warns Dani that she might have to miss the first day of camp.
And apparently, that snaps something in her. Dani grabs one of Soren's model trains and starts hitting her brother in the head.
There's more of Soren's blood.
May's powers
This stress has been building a long time, with the trigger event being an unusually extreme coincidence of domestic issues that she'd experienced for years. Tinker. Looking at the TINKERS 2.0 doc, I think a Liberty/Controller methodology fits pretty well.
I bounced around a few ideas for her power around the same cluster of ideas, but I think "cloned cyborgs" works best. Basically, May makes android bodies that resemble herself and adds some cloned nervous/endocrine tissue to control them. She can incorporate her own memories, skills, etc into these cyber-clones; if she's willing to invest and risk it, she can even give them her powers.
Theoretically, having several copies of yourself would resolve May's issues. In practice, she needs to maintain the cyber-clones' robot parts, keep tabs on their psychology to make sure they're not depressed or overworked or going all Golem of Prague on her metaphorical wells; at best, it's two steps forward for one step back. At worst, the opposite.
The big perk is that, now that she and her kids have powers, she can collapse several duties into one. If she starts a superhero team with her family, she can take care of them and go to work at the same time! Just like those people in Brockton Bay did! It worked out for them, right?
May names the cyber-clones after months—June, July, etc.
Secondary Powers
May can sprout a semi-tangible tentacle from each elbow, which gives her telekinesis—though at a much smaller scale than Dani's. More in the "tool to broken android" range, and they only reach a few feet. They can also deflect (slow, physical) attacks.
Her arms and chest also have enhanced bones and muscles, hard and dense as metal. These let her punch harder, and are also unusually sensitive.
Danielle's Day
It was a crummy morning.
Mom sent her and Soren to the store to buy some groceries, which was fine, but on the way back a bunch of emergency vehicles drove by and sent Soren into one of his meltdown things. Dani hated the noise, hated how she had to deal with Soren and the groceries he dropped instead of getting away. And when they got back, Mom was annoyed that the bananas got squished. Dani knew Mom wasn't exactly mad at Dani for something Soren did, but it still felt that way.
And there were other things. A really bad episode of her favorite cartoon. Another meltdown at lunch, because Mom switched Soren and Dani's sandwiches on accident. Finding out that Freida couldn't go to marine camp with her after all. A thousand tiny stresses that she just bottled up, because unlike some people, she had self-control.
Then Soren cut his stupid hand, and Mom said that she'd have to miss marine camp because of him, and...it turns out her self-control isn't so good after all. She's not even sure why she's doing it.
She's just so wound-up that she broke.
Dani's Powers
Realizing she doesn't have as good of self-control as she assumed is part of the trigger, but that's not the core of it. I could argue that she wants to go to camp to escape, or that it's caused by an adverse social environment, but that doesn't feel quite right either. The Sense Thinker trigger sounds sort of relevant, but also like it exaggerates the "regression" while missing on all the stuff feeding into it.
So, messy Breaker. But what kind of breaker?
I think Dani's trigger boils down to control. Both the aforementioned self-control, and her inability to control her broader life. She's still in elementary school, but on top of that, there's her brother, who keeps throwing wrenches into things that she thought she could count on. Including marine camp.
Her Breaker form unravels her limbs into a bunch of semi-tangible jellyfish-like tentacles, trailing a dozen feet or more behind. (She can fly in this form, just not particularly high or quickly.) The Changer nod is letting her partially slip into her Breaker form; if she wants, she can just turn one arm into tentacles at a time, for instance.
The tentacles conduct her related clairvoyant and telekinetic powers. She can move things her tentacles touch (if it's lighter than a bus but bigger than a dog). The telekinesis doesn't affect living things (duh), and it can't move things quickly, so it's mostly useful for rearranging vehicles or furniture or whatever. The tentacles also sense things in their general area; think sonar, but with spatial waves instead of sonic waves. And they can go through most walls.
That sense is a bit of a problem. Whether due to shard ignorance or shard malice, her tentacle sense does not vibe with her brain. Dani finds the tentacle sense viscerally unpleasant. The longer she stays in the form, the less bearable it is, the more her mood impacts her telekinetic control, the longer it takes to "cool down".
Secondary Powers
Dani's full Breaker form comes with an armored carapace, a word which here means "back". (So, think of her Breaker form as a jellyfish/turtle/human hybrid.)
Dani can't make cyber-clones, but she can make little boxes of cloned Danielle tissue which can create their own tentacles. They don't have carapaces, but they can be designed to grow metallic bits, like hooks to grab stuff with or plates to block stuff with or blades to hurt stuff with.
Soren's Day
Soren feels like a burden to his family. He feels guilty for all the problems he causes. He feels shame for not being able to fix those problems, or even properly express his apologies. He feels like a failure of a big brother; he knows they're supposed to take care of little sisters, but Dani keeps having to take care of him.
But the feelings which are most immediately relevant are "Ow, my head" and "Ow, my hand".
Soren's Powers
So, like, Brute, obviously.
As per the BRUTE document, focused physical damage means a Muscle brute—"raw mass and offensive tools". But that's also associated with struggle, and Soren is not struggling, really. The Dynamic brute's despair is a more fitting emotion, or maybe Repression's emotional helplessness.
So raw physical offense, but indirect or "skill-based" defense. But pretty much physical, since the harm was all physical. Hm.
How about a partial transformation, which bulks out his arms and the front of his torso with metallic armor? (Or maybe his one arm, part of his torso, and his head, if we want to get armorfacey.) This gives him the strength you'd expect of a Brute, and in this form his waist can rotate 360 degrees, letting him spin his armored parts in whatever direction he needs to block or deflect attacks. But obviously, if he's attacked from multiple directions at once (or doesn't notice an attack), he's as fragile as anyone.
Giving this guilty kid in a power that lets him bleed to help his family more is probably twisting the knife enough.
Secondary Powers
Soren can grow three sensory tentacles from his back. This is separate from his Brute transformation, which is good since he has the same claristensory issues as Dani does.
Soren can't clone anything, but he can make basic androids with telekinetic whips.
The Cluster
"Cluster Game": Mother, May I? Not a great match to the children's game, but...how could I not?
May, as the parent of the cluster, has outsize influence on her children. Their powers ebb and flow with her attention. When she praises one child and ignores the other, the former's powers get stronger and the latter weaker. This is a pool shared between all three; if May ignored her children, her powers would get much stronger.
May doesn't realize just how much power she has over her kids. Soren and Dani have a sense of what's going on, but can't quite explain or express it.
Team Dynamics
Like I said, May turns the family cluster into a superhero team. They work with the local PRT, of course, but she keeps the team separate. She's heard a lot of Wards horror stories, and wants to keep her kids safe herself.
(This might be a good time to mention that absolutely none of May's professional skills or job experience are related to any aspect of running a superhero team.)
Surprisingly, the actual cape stuff isn't that much of a problem. First off, they live in a small town—a bit bigger than Stafford, but it's no Brockton Bay. Second, between Dani's Shaker power, Soren's armor, and the tinkertech, it's pretty easy for May to keep her family safe. No, the problem is the media.
May decided not to go full New Wave and reveal their identities, but she still has her team/family give interviews. Which is stressful for both of the kids, but especially Dani. May warns journalists that her son is autistic, so they know A. she'll get mad if they ask him too many questions and B. he probably won't give many good answers anyway. But this just means that whenever they want to ask a question to one of the kids, they ask Dani. And that's a lot of stress to put on any ten-year-old, on top of hero stress and (in the fall) school stress...

Hey, kinda basic question, but what inspired you to write tlg? Was there a specific moment in canon that inspired you? Did you crave more chelldos content and chose to contribute to the fandom yourself? Have you always wanted to write a certain type of story or shipping dynamic and chelldos seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally get started?
I'm so curious because I really love your fic and it's always interesting to know how it all started and to learn more about the author's relationship with their own story.
Sorry if the wording of my ask seems weird, I'm not a native English speaker, but I'd be happy to talk to you about our lord and savior, chelldos christ
Not too basic at all, I'm happy to answer that!
One fun thing about Discord's easily-accessible and searchable message history is that I can pinpoint the precise conversation where I had the idea for the fic. I was talking to some other chelldos folks in 2018 about the concept of a cloned Chell, mainly how, if that happened, what would GLaDOS do to keep herself from getting bored? She's already gone through the most exciting stuff when it comes to Chell fighting back and destroying GLaDOS the first time. So what kind of stuff could be done that would be interesting to her but not dangeous? Would the variables between these clones gets more intense, more wild as she tried to get results an experiences that she hadn't had before? Then I fell face-first into the idea of GLaDOS messing with her in some psychological manner instead, if she could lull Chell into a false sense of security, but I wondered if she could ever be so "patient and willing to play the long game" and a lightbulb went off in my brain somewhere. After more of that discussion, that month I sketched out a super basic outline of a fic, and then went 'that's kinda messed up' and then set it down for like 6 months.
But the concept was still in the back of my mind, and I kept thinking about what I could potentially offer that I hadn't seen in other chelldos fics. One thing that came to mind is that, for at least the chelldos fics I had read, Chell returning to Aperture tended to end up being not a big deal, and/or GLaDOS and Chell repaired their relationship easily, or that repair happened off-screen and the fic took place in an established-relationship setting. Which, there is nothing wrong with that! I enjoyed them! And not everyone needs to write a long involved longfic before being allowed to write something fluffy, you know? But what I was thinking about was how hard things might be for both of them, the kinds of trauma they had been through, both on their own and at the hands of one another. Trying to build a foundation of trust between them would be very difficult, much less one where they could start to heal, much less one where they could start to develop feelings for one another. It would require a ton of work, especially since I couldn't ever see Chell returning to Aperture unless her hand was completely forced. Chell doesn't want to be there, and GLaDOS doesn't want her to be there, either. It would take a lot of work on the writing end to write that sort of progression in a way that wasn't rushed and that made sense too.
But I was still working on my other portal longfic at the time, so I decided that I would try to write this SHORT, 50-60k longfic as novel writing practice, something with short chapters that I could write for fun and without too much pressure in between the chapters for my other longfic (lol). Obviously the story developed out a lot more than my preliminary outlines, ha ha, but I'm glad for it.
One thing I do wish though is that I could have written it without an android form, because I love regular GLaDOS just as she is and think that if Chell was going to develop feelings, that she should be able to do it for regular GLaDOS. But unfortunately I couldn't get around it because some major plot points hinge upon GLaDOS getting locked out of her mainframe. Still feel like I'm taking the coward's approach though. It is what it is.
Anyway now it's 2023 and I am 120k into my 60k fic, which will probably end up at like 150k or so, not sure. I have wordcount projections but we'll see how I compare.
Thank you for asking!

It's dark in this sewer hall, I'm sweating, and the only thing keeping me from stabbing myself with a misplaced pole is a shitty flashlight. But I know I'll be fine since I have Simon and North with me. It isn't long before I finally reach Jericho.
I place my hands on the rusty wheel, placing a good grip on it before turning it with all I've got. The door rewards me by opening with a loud creak, and I hear someone shout: "The new cargo is here!"
The deviants all turn to look at us as we enter in, and they all look so hopeful. The more I've been visiting and bringing in Cargo with a small group of other [human] people, the happier I've seen these androids become.
We place the boxes down, even going back to the hall to bring the leftovers. The boxes were filled with limbs and blue blood, some resources I got from a couple friends who work in the android industry.
"[Name], you're back"
I look over to the voice behind me I could never mistake, Markus's. Markus walks up to me with a proud look, pulling me in for a tight hug. He smells nice, and seemingly has been taking care of himself a little more. All I hoped was that he wouldn't notice my heart beating a little too quick.
"Of course I'm back, I'm your Blue Blood Angel" I joke, giving him a tight squeeze in the hug before pulling away. Markus hums lightly before looking over to the boxes to find the variety of limbs, scanning them to see if they were in appropriate states. I sigh, placing my hand onto his shoulder and direct him over to me
"Markus, you need to relax a little and trust me. I've got early cargo coming this way in two days, and then everything goes back to schedule. One visit of cargo per week. You're building each other up again slowly, but we have to be patient before making any dire actions of rebellion" I explain. I see his eyes soften for a second, as if he truly did calm down while looking at me, and it took me so much to not just kiss him right then and there.
The moment is cut short as North chuckles softly and mutters out loud enough for us to hear "Markus? Relax? Might wanna explain that to him."
Markus huffs at North's comment, crossing his arms and looks away from the shipment. He knows it's true, and the rebellion is always on his mind, but never like this. His led turns yellow and for a moment it blips to red before going back to yellow, and now I know something just isn't right.
"Can we talk? In private?" I asked.
--------
The roof was the perfect spot. The beautiful view of the city, the sounds of the city that I grew up in still as calming as ever. But it didn't keep me calm now, not with Markus stressed like this.
"Is something wrong? Did news come about Jericho?" I asked, concerned if maybe something or someone has blown our cover. Markus shook his head, his eyes avoiding mine as we stood in front of each. I can't help but think-
"Did I do something wrong?"
Markus's panics, eyes quickly on me again.
"No no, of course not. You're discrete, you go along with the plans, you're perfect- I just. I'm trying to find the words here" He explains. We stand there again in silence, and I feel calmer now knowing that it's not me who did something.
"Are you sure you want to go through with this, [Name]?" Markus asks softly.
"What?"
He purses his lips- "Are you sure you want to keep doing this for us? The cargo, the running, leading with me?"
"Of course I am!" I exclaim, "You guys need this. I'm not going to just drop everything all of a sudden when I know that you guys are suffering. Plus there's thousands of more Androids in hiding and/or in suffering because of this... entire situation! I want to help you"
"But you could get hurt" Markus replies "What if the police catch onto you? What if you get caught in general on your way back?"
"I'm already deep into this, Markus. If I get hurt, or someone catches me, then someone can bail me out or something" I say. The thought of going to jail or getting hurt over this is scary, and Markus knows that, but I can't just back out now.
"[Name]-"
"And so what if I get hurt? Or caught? You guys are already close enough to start spreading the word now, we're so close, Markus"
"So what if you get hurt?" Markus snaps, "[Name], the last thing I need is you getting hurt"
"I'm not the only one sending in Cargo, you have Michael and R-"
"They aren't you, [Name]. I need you."
...We both pause in the moment. It felt like a confession, but we both realized his slip up. Markus doesn't back down though, he keeps going.
"Yeah. I need you, okay? Not because you're just some blue blood and limb mailman, but because I..." He takes a deep breath, his hands fidgeting with his jacket, "Because I love you. I need you safe and alive, and doing this entire thing can lead to you injuring yourself-- or worse. And the thought of it happening to you just makes me feel dread, so please, [Name]. I just, need you to be more careful out there"
His hand softly slips onto mine, locking our hands together as he leans his face closer towards mine. Slowly and carefully, we kiss. I feel his free hand on my waist as if he wants me closer, but we both know it's too soon. So we break and press our foreheads together, eyes looking into one another.
"...I love you too, Markus. And I'm going to stand beside you in this fight, no matter what" I start, "But I promise I'll be careful too, for you"
