1610 is the more affectionate one (outwardly) while 42 likes to pretend he’s completely devoid of that as if he doesn’t love his brother with everything in him.

They’re the kind of brothers to open soundcloud, turn on a random trap beat and see who can go the longest freestyling. They do that thing where guys bring their fist to their mouths and squeal and shove each other out of excitement when they get a good flow going back and forth

42 is definitely the athletic type, plays football and soccer. 1610 is more in tune with his artistic side. Will play sports for fun but doesn’t care for them like that

42 is introverted as hell, doesn’t really like talking to people. 1610 is more of a social butterfly

They’ve never once liked the same girl. Ever. Their taste is drastically different

Used to help each other break out of their cribs when they were babies. Either that or Jeff and Rio would wake up to find that 42 had climbed into 1610’s crib after they’d been put down and slept with him instead. it was impossible to keep them apart from each other, so eventually they just broke down the second crib and let them use the one.

You can tell who is who in their baby pictures. You guessed it, 42 was the oddly solemn one who always wanted to play by himself. They worried about him for a bit. They also had to tickle him as an attempt to get him to smile in pictures, and just their luck, he’s never been ticklish

When they were eight years old, 1610 accidentally broke the wolverine action figure 42 never went anywhere without, and 42 cried about it for three days straight

They definitely ask for each other’s opinions on their outfits

They both obviously love their mother but 42 is the biggest mama’s boy. Always in the kitchen helping her cook, will watch her telenovelas with her and actually keep up with the plot. He’ll willingly follow her to the grocery store or accompany her on her ridiculously long Ross/Tjmaxx sprees because he likes hanging out with her

They terrorize the fuck outta their dad and have been doing so since they entered this world because they think it’s funny. Stupid shit like dying his boxers pink, or looking up a cracked tv screen video on youtube just to watch him nearly have a heart attack thinking they broke it. They used to twin-swap when they were younger to get out of certain things, but it’s 100% impossible to pull off now. They’re way too different, physically and mentally

Uncle Aaron took 42 to get his ears pierced when he was thirteen, something 1610 would never do. Rio basically had an aneurysm when he came home with them in and Jeff was not pleased but Aaron took the blame for it, said it was his idea. 42 made up some bullshit lie about how if he takes them out before they heal completely they’ll get infected. Still has them in till this day

42 is exactly fourteen minutes older and refuses to let 1610 hear the end of it, but 1610 is taller by an inch and weighs a little more.

They’re definitely scrapping over that, and both get smacked upside their heads by Mama Rio for fighting with each other

1610 will try and turn the fan off after his brother’s been asleep for probably two hours, thinking he’s in the clear until he hears—

has a switchblade on his dominant arm pocket (he could use anything as a weapon, but he likes to be “prepared”)

like on s1, he’d pretend to be a kid and all innocent & shit to get free shit from strangers (you’d hop on the bandwagon and **nicely** ask him to get you stuff too.. he complains and says no but you’d see him on the next day with the shit you requested on his hands)

^ continuation with this— fucker prolly got a coffee machine cos he went up to some lady- went on, put a sad act, and went “oh no.. i dont got a gift to give to my dad.. he always wanted a coffee machine after ours broke” and the lady would have pitied his ass and bought a cheap but durable one for him— this would lead to a situation where the rest of the umbrellas try to take away the coffee machine away from his addicted ass-

So... Twitter, huh? My spoiler filters there had some leaks, and I saw some discussion out of context that... actually made me kinda scared to finish the show. But then I did, and had fun with it just like the other two seasons, and I remembered that Twitter gets high-strung about things that don't matter so much, and that giving it sway over how much I enjoy things is silly lol.

Yes, I think the last season could've been paced differently so it wasn't 5 episodes of the same Final Boss Fight. Yes, I think the writing switches jarringly between gearing for a young new audience and for a seasoned old one. Yes, I think the 2D flashbacks look and move worse than what fans constantly make for free. Yes, I think the final episode doesn't do nearly as much housekeeping as it should (does the Shatterverse still exist or not??). Yes, I think declaring the show is canon to the games or whatever they said probably wasn't the best idea. And yes, I think Black Rose should've had a shoulder-parrot!Birdie to match the other Amys. All valid critiques! All sensible things to think when you've been around the Sonic bush!

But I swear to god, people on Twitter act like these things spoil the whole package. Where's the nuance? Why does every opinion there become an absolute worth tearing others down for? Is it the character limit? I bet it's the character limit.

There's so much I love about this show that were infeasible for the Sonic brand just 3-4 years ago. Externalizing the characters' facets to explore them in-depth. Said exploration spanning multiple episodes instead of being one-and-done. The sheer amount of genuine Sonadow food (and I don't actively do shipping, so me adding it here should hold a lot of weight). The snappy, playful, yet blistering fight scenes that, dare I say, feel like a successful TV-budget Spider-Verse. It was all so much fun!

But I guess stuff like Green Hill being the gang's "home" is a big deal-breaker?? Like?? I thought that was silly too, but not worth ratio'ing people with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over? Get well soon, I guess??

loving how colt and cordelia are really getting an emotional reaction out of y/n and making her reconsider things bc omds i just can’t wait to see how complicated it’ll get for them it’s just exciting to see y/n realize things-

and friedrich in this chapter, i feel like him proving his loyalty to y/n rather than his loyalty to marley was kinda scary with how he killed so freely for her sake.. but they really seem to be on the same page, or more than colt and y/n are at least?? i know she secretly likes both of them even though she doesn’t know it, but i do get the feeling that she sorta likes colt more so i feel bad for friedrich w the convo they had towards the end of the chapter😭

i really like xanthe and this was a good introduction to hadrian’s character, it was a really great chapter and i loved reading it!! thanks for updating hehe, you get me more and more curious for how things will go with each new chapter

I AGREE oblivious y/n is fun but making her become aware of stuff is so entertaining too. and the way colt has no idea she’s upset…like she didn’t even talk to him before leaving for the mission ☹️ imagine her and friedrich HAD run away together like colt would’ve thought they both died and he literally never even got to say goodbye to her.

friedrich is kinda terrifying yeah lol…this chapter shows that he’s just as affected by their training as the other two, just in a different way. he’s a lot more desensitized to violence and although he’s not really loyal to marley’s cause, he would honestly be the best warrior out of the trio. the way they’ve been taught is that their enemies are less than human and therefore it’s okay to kill them (which is also seen w gabi in the beginning part of season 4), and he’s the only one to actjallt internalize that. lmao it’s kinda funny actually if you think about it, colt thinks that all of the athyaens are his enemies whereas friedrich is actually p neutral towards most of them and only hates a select few. however colt hasn’t hurt a single one and would feel remorse if he had to whereas friedrich dgaf about those he has killed. so like different viewpoints on the war ig. then there’s y/n she has no idea what’s going on…at the moment she’s probably closer to friedrich’s side of things but she definitely would not be as quick to kill people (yet 😏 slight spoiler but there will come a time in the not so far future where she becomes a lot colder and honestly more callous than both friedrich and colt combined. like, to the point that they’re both kinda scared of her and try to convince her to stop her plans. she hasn’t been showing it lately but she is very intelligent lol…zeke’s fav for a reason 😮‍💨)

unfortunately for friedrich she def likes colt more 😫 justice for friedrich he really loves her so much. BUT he also loves colt ngl they’re all kind of a throuple because both boys are SO CLOSE as well. rest assured that if it had been colt in y/n’s place friedrich would’ve done the exact same thing.

XANTHE IS AMAZING she’s so sweet it’s a breath of fresh air she’s very just kind when compared to the people y/n is usually around. and her brother 😩 nah because tbh y’all can keep colt and friedrich i’m here for hadrian. he’s probably around 16-17 and xanthe is probably like 15-16 btw. something like that haha i’m not sure. but speaking of brother-sister duos we can’t forget the OGs alice and alaric 😭🙏🏼 the amatas are a lot less dysfunctional than those two were lmfao.
